To study the risks of overtraining with HIIT (specifically, workouts in which you perform short bursts of activity that push your heart rate above 85 percent of your max), Gottschall teamed up with Les Mills, a creator of research-based group fitness classes, including HIIT classes, taught around the world.”We wanted to ask: ‘What is the optimal time per week to train in the 90 to 100 percent. High intensity burns more calories because you reach about 75% or your maximum heart rate as opposed to only 50% of your maximum heart during low-intensity workouts.

  • In the end, when he said one more section left to go, my soul literally gave up for a second, till the moment he said that it was the cool down section!

  • I have been using the cross trainer but on a steady pace, I am going to start the HIIT style from today! Thank you so much for the video.. I watched it to the end.

  • I can’t even remember the number of times i cursed Daniel! But literally, this workout killed me. Awesome job, Fitness blender! Keep it up!!

  • This is never HIIT this is just old fashioned aerobics giving all the participants sore knees. Not one exercise was done to recruit the desired fast-twitch motor fibres. Redo it

  • Would you consider adding a bell or ding into the workout so we know when a workout ends/begins? It would be super appreciated! Thanks for the great videos!

  • Every.Single.Word.You.Say.Is.Truth.THANK YOU so much for sharing. I ended up in the ER because of “under-recovering” (my OTF) but ignored a problem and paid a major price. I wish I had listened to my smart friends before I injured myself the way I did, but lesson learned. Its been tough changing my mindset, but I I’ve learned to love active recovery days so much more than trying to bust through one more day at OTF when all I need is a day off. Be good to your body & mind.

  • I’ve been doing your workouts for years and did this one for the first time today. Probably the hardest video of yours, IMO. Perfect for a day you need to sneak in a quick and brutal workout. Thanks for everything you do!

  • Any advise on how many minute HIIT training is advisable to start with? I am reasonably fit and only weigh a few kilos too much. This 35min was really too much for me. Or the empty stomach was a wrong thing to start with?

  • I don’t know what it is about this workout… but I’m a sweaty mess afterwards… even the 50 minute Daniel tortures don’t get me like this one! I have a hard time going to my happy place by the end!

  • Has anyone used the Custokebon Secrets to lost a lot of fat? Just simply do a search engine search. On there you will find an awesome tips about how you can lost tons of weight. Why don’t you give it a shot? maybe it’s going to work for you too.

  • This is a 20-min workout video and is brilliantly demonstrated, great stuff Kevin! According to Harvard Health Publishing, 30 minutes on the elliptical per day will burn an average of 335 calories! In the following article, you can find an example of an effective 15-minute HIIT workout program available on HOLOFIT and even learn if an elliptical machine can be paired with your VR headset to help lose weight in a fun and motivating way

  • After this one was highlighted/shared by you today I decided to give it a go. Man that hurt! But now I feel awesome! (half dead, but awesome)

  • i love that there is no music. I blast my own music over it, but still am able to hear him and watch but take the rhythm at my own pace. Love!!!!! Thank uuuuu

  • I really appreciate the fantastic workouts that you provide. It is allowing me to stay in shape through this virus lock down. His workouts are hard but short. There are many days that is perfect for me. At least I am still working out even if for a short period of time. Very intense.

  • Hi There, just wondering if this is suitable for a?Very Unfit Beginner”?? My BMI is 39 and i have NO exercise experience whatsoever, Thanks heaps for your help.

  • Hey Doc! Thanks for the workout! this is definitely my kind of workout. Gotta say, it burrrrrrrrrrrrrns!! this is my second week workout on an eliptical.

  • For those who are asking how many times they should do in a week i would recommend to do it 2-3 times in a week not more or less than that. other days u can target specific muscles or do basic cardio for 30 mins. Do give your body enough rest. For people who want to build muscles HIIT is not really recommended, this is good for people who want to shed those extra pounds

  • If you aren’t soaked after using the elliptical, did you even do cardio? That’s a rule I live by. I see so many people on their phones, reading books, and not sweating. After months they still look the same.

Push yourself to the brink of complete failure, and keep trying to beat your time and distance.

  • The only thing that kept me going was that Daniel was as tired as I was I was kinda feeling like a loser for being so tired and then he’s like, “sorry guys, I’m slowing down here.” and I was thought, “Well dang! I must be doing alright if Daniel is tired too.” Thanks Daniel!

  • Who also got a mini heart attack, when he said:”We only have one section left of this workout…and thats our cooldown”
Omg daniel, pls don’t scared me like that

  • you can´t use a chaturanga and an upward facing dog as warm up! I mean, you really need to warm up to practice those yoga poses! chaturanga and upward facing dog are some of the yoga poses causing the most injuries among yoga beginners and especially without warm up (and without any explanation) they can really mess up your shoulders and your low back. this is so not good guys. so not good.

  • I’m looking for the one where he is doing frog jumps ( I think idk the exact name ). He works on our butt! Does anyone know which one I am talking about?

  • hey guys that was amazing im shaking and tired and i feel great at first i thought i can’t do it then i pushed my self and i completed the whole exercice ❤️❤️ my salutations from Morocco

  • So true about going 5 + times per week. I challenged myself over the summer to go to Orangetheory 5 days in a row and I could tell by the third day but I was not able to perform the exercises at 100%. I definitely had to back off on some of those days. Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • Can I do this everyday, but without the sprinting, just casually doing it for like a half an hour per day, will I lose weight?? Do you have any more tips for weight loss on this?

  • Good workout but these guys forget to count you in and out pretty often. Super annoying in the moment when you’re focusing on the move and not looking at the screen.

  • Hey I’ve been doing this for two weeks about 3-4 a week. And I still don’t see a difference. I’ve also cut out all meat and all I’ve been eating is fruit, veggies, eggs, but I minimize myself!?

  • I just finished this while quarantining at home! Omg I’m exhausted! Yet feel good at the same time!!! I’ll be honest to admit I get bored very easily and this kept me entertained & followed along until the last second. Thank you!

  • Hey Qinetic stuff, cool clip. Would you like to introduce one of our intervall

  • Awesome workout! loved everything about it except being called “girls”. Unless this workout is intended for females under the age of 12, please don’t use the word girls when referring to women. You don’t refer to men as boys in this workout. Think about what you’re implying.

  • Best workout ever!!! I totally enjoyed this and yes I killed it! Start to finish didn’t stop. I especially love that you guys don’t have unnecessary banter. Nothing kills my motivation faster than excessive bantering. Love you guys and I’m officially your fan forever!!!

  • 1st day with this video, second day with FB. This workout was hard, but after workout feeling is unbelievable JUST DO IT NOW!!!

  • Wow, you guys kick my butt

  • During this lockdown, I have dusted off my unused elliptical, and your videos have really helped! Do you have a scientific reference for the study showing better weight loss if doing this in the morning after the night’s fast? I am a scientist and enjoy reading the facts. Thanks very much for the videos. Terrific.

  • Cheers for the Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried Dinanlinson Crazy Tactic Approach (search on google)? It is a good one of a kind guide for discovering how to use short burst interval training to get that beach body minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate after many years got great success with it.

  • Question, important to know; is the intensivity per minute the same for you short and long Hiit videos? or are the shorter videos much more intensive to achieve the same burning calories than a longer Hiit video?

  • Can I use this method on a recumbent bike since I don’t have the type of bike you’re using in this video? Maybe a no brained question but still thought I’d ask you or any other peeps out there reading this. I do your other recumbent bike workout, but this seems longer.

  • it was really encouraging to see you struggling on those thigh slap jumps i was dead as well, makes me feel a lot better when the instructor is feeling it as well! thanks for being so real:)

  • I read a lot of people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets. But Im uncertain if it is good. Have you ever tried using this popular lose weight method?

  • Ive done several fitnessblenders 5 stars workouts and and i must say this is one of the hardest at least for me, i had to stop many times to catch my breath, its brutal.

  • And I just finished this workout, not as bad as I expected, but definitely was very intense. Towards the end you can barely feel your legs. But i am glad I finished and that too in a fasting state. Time for a cold shower now, and 4 hours more till I can break my fast and drink some water:)

  • I used to run , I don’t understand why we run, especially as we get older, the impact and jarring running movements only serve to wear your hinges down. X trainers are swimming work out the whole body and zero impact! Dr Kev, I do this session back to back every morning and when I get off, I’m literally pouring with sweat, exactly what I need to start my day. I also like this newer version with the music as opposed to the motivational speakers, the music really gets you fired up, anyway, thank you for providing this free of charge and really helping with my exercise programme. Thank you!

  • I said it out loud as soon as you introduced the scenario: THAT’S TOO DAMN MUCH! Steady state may not be cool, but it burns a lot of energy and it’s very therapeutic on the rower. Also, long walks are good.

  • How many times a day? I’ll try to do this 6 times a week before bed… +sometimes I jogg 4km… Is this enough if I want to get fit? Or should I workout even more? I’m trying to lose some weight…
    Thanks for answer:)

  • Me (15 years old ) and my brother (10 years old) just did the whole thing. He had to stop sometimes because it’s a little hard for a 10 year old and I aint gonna lie I stopped a few times as well

  • Did this as Day 9 of the 8 week work out plan round 3.   Problem I felt was Day 6 was the lower body Tabata and I was still quite sore from that, going into these squat jacks, thigh slap jumps, jumping lunges, etc.  Is it okay to do these after only two days of rest from the butt and thigh tabata?  I am limping around now!  But good workout!

  • I am switching between HIIT, which I love, P90X Plyometrics, and a 25 min. Tony Horton video on youtube.  I then do sprints at my detention ponds in neighborhood.  Losing fat like crazy and getting lean.  I’m also not losing weight, which I didn’t want to do anyway.  Keep it up.

  • Its ramadan and I usually workout (including HIIT) while fasting. I did a kickboxing session today with Daniel, will rest up tomorrow and hopefully tackle this beast the day after. In this blessed month of Ramadan, I pray for you guys (Dan and Kelly). I miss my gym, but have been working out with your videos and it makes me feel alive. Due to ramadan my diet is really off, havent lost weight but fitness is more than a number on the scale i guess

  • I’m two weeks into your 8 week round 3 program. Every night I look over the next days workout to know what i’m in for lol…but i have a question, What if you have knee problems? This is a whole lot of not-so-good movement for someone with crap knees. Do you have a suggested alternative workout so that I can stay on track with my program? Oh and also even if I could do these moves my neighbor would KILL me if i was jumping up and down this much as I live on the top floor haha

  • My feelings toward the instructor change during the workout:

First few minutes: “This guy is cool, it’s like having my own personal trainer.”
10 minutes in: “Okay, this guy is a little overbearing.”
20 minutes in: “What’s wrong with you?!?”
30 minutes in: “WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?”
    End: “This guy’s awesome, thanks.”

  • It was nice to have an instructor that is hurting with you instead of being all happy and smiling I also like how he was always reminding me to breathe and open up my chest!

  • Had to take a pause for a week, due to my knee. I feel like I’m going to pass out after only not doing the hit workouts for a week. Never again

  • First time doing your videos, I need something quick and intense cause I’ve lost my stamina through covid not training! So this was perfect

  • started adding this to regular cardio 2x blood pressureis back to almost normal. at this pace will be normal in a few weeks. this along with adjustment in my diet and regular cardio has made me feel much better and the numbers are also showing it on the scale and sphyg.
