At Home Core Workout | Clutch Life: Ashley Conrad’s 24/7 Fitness Trainer

Video taken from the channel:

What CrossFit has taught me, and what I think everyone can apply to their own fitness, is the idea that the body can always do more. The average CrossFit WOD (Workout of the Day) is deliberately designed to fatigue your body to the point where you don’t think you can go on. The lesson in the WODs is that when your body is totally exhausted, you. CROSSFIT CAN BUILD CRAZY STRENGTHMany bodybuilders and powerlifters are under the impression that CrossFitter’s only perform burpees, box jumps, rope climbs and bodyweight exercises.

While these exercises play a large role in any CrossFitter’s arsenal, they are really the complementary exercises to help round out an athlete’s overall performance. At most boxes (read: CrossFit gyms. Normal Bodybuilding Routine + CrossFit intermittently thrown in the mix; CrossFit Strength Bias + Some Isolation Work; My Modified CrossFit Strength Bias Program; CrossFit Football; CrossFit; What I Learned. Pros and Cons. PRO: I fixed my brain. I was no longer obssessed with my body image and constantly wanting to gain weight.

You really can. 3Quantifiable Workouts With CrossFit there is a goal in every workout to try and improve. One thing bodybuilders seem to forget is improvements can come from more than just adding weight to the bar. The one training variable that seems to get the least compliance in most bodybuilding programming is rest intervals. I live in a powerbuilding world; a world of social media friends that have a serious love for the pursuit of strength, muscle or both.

Some are bodybuilders. Some are powerlifters. Most are just average Janes and Joes who will never compete, but love the iron like it’s a second mother.

Related: Three CrossFit Lessons That the Bodybuilder Can Apply. If you like this AMRAP format, you can keep the same 10-minute time limit and substitute any three non-competing strength-building exercises. Just make sure you hit at least two different muscle groups so you can push hard without having to take a rest.

The CrossFit Body is made for use, the bodybuilding body is made for show. So if you are debating what kind of fitness to get into, think long and hard. If bodybuilding appeals to you then do it. If working out is just something you do 3x a week know that you won’t look like either of these guys, but doing crossfit will be a healthier choice. This week marks three months since I began the most intense workout regimen of my entire life, CrossFit.

What led to me beginning CrossFit was a realization that, if left to my own devices, I would never push myself hard enough to truly make the changes I needed to in order to get in shape. I enjoy reading articles by the Breaking Muscle coaches about their perspective on the Games and all that surrounds it. From these articles three lessons emerge. We can apply these lessons right back to our lives and training. The course or activity must meet CrossFit’s standards for CPD activities and all approvals are made on a case-by-case basis.

  • I’m gonna start doing this today
Hopefully I can keep doing it, I need to be in shape when I go back to my country.
Cheer me on if some1 sees this
    I will keep updates

  • I started crossfit around half a year ago and i didn’t see much resolets and after an injury a startted a bit of bodybuilding and when i came back i took it more seriously and started seeing the most reasolets i ever had

  • I am doing this workout for about a month. Although I have no belly fat. So I can see my abs clear cut

Ab issi baat pe like thok do

  • I notice lots of people keep on talking about Episoketren System. But Im not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried this popular training course?

  • I love how you talked about how your mindset changed. I think I felt so much healthier mentally and physically when I started CrossFit too because I wasn’t constantly worried about what I looked like. I was thinking more about what I could do rather than how I looked. And the way I look at fitness is so different now because of that. Great videos

  • I’ve been doing this workout a couple months now but its started playing ads in the middle, it really interrupts something which is meant to be constant and takes the intensity out of it

  • I’ve been doing this for a month or two maybe? Not even the whole thing, just however much I could do at the time, and I still can’t get through the whole thing. HOWEVER, I can eat and eat and eat all day long and my belly will be flat as an ironing board. I can also balance a lot better in a handstand and doing things like pirouettes are easier too!

  • To the people who finds these easy you may be doing something wrong and that is not keeping the core tight throughout the workout. If you don’t know how to tighten your core try fake coughing and then hold the tension in your stomach.

  • Not sure if there is still people, watching/commenting on this vid but if i want to create more indurance and lose weight what is better?: bodypump or crossfit, sorry for my bad grammar

  • Really like your explanatory videos. One thing though…such good content, but you tend to speak really fast when you explain things:)
Would appreciate advice on how to combine metcons with getting stronger in the lifts…such as Wendler+metcons etc. How do you do it?

  • There isn’t any fat loss tea or a magic pill. There are only smart dieting and training. Next Level Diet is a great tool to start with because it gives you everything you need to reach your fitness goals.

  • Crossfit you dont use wrist straps, to aid ya strength gains, then why use them on medium weight weightlifting ..young and still have alot to learn fella..

  • Can I workout in the morning and crossfit in the afternoon? And sometimes the other way around. Is that ok? Thursday, sat & sun rest day for crossfit. Workout will be from mon-fri or sometime sat too.

  • In my program, I like to mix powerlifting, bodybuilding, and CrossFit. Powerlifting to progressively overload, bodybuilding to fix imbalances, and CrossFit to build functional strength and cardio. It keeps things different and prevents some injuries and burnouts.

  • He should pack his shoulders more into the pad during bench press to take less stress off and shoulders and really focus on the chest activation.

  • which one shoes do you think are the best for like weight lifting workout, some crossfire and some TRX for bout 6 to 7 days at week? and what are the shoes you are wearing in this vide?

  • i just ordererd a lacrosse ball. hope it will fix my back issues cuz im working at a food store and all the scannin has killed my left rear delt/trap area lol

  • Just come across your channel and it has been exactly what i’ve been looking for. Have you got a contact email? Really could do with some advice, cheers

  • Funny how crossfit creeps in slowly and infects the brain and body. I used to conventionally lift 5 days a week with a day of cf. A year later and it’s the other way around. 4-5 days cf and a day of conventional lifting. That day is a nice much needed break from the intensity of the wods. Plus the benefits of it as you point out here.

  • TEAM CHESTHAIR FOREVER. The only reason I found out what CrossFit id was because I started watching your videos to see thar beautifil hairy chest.

  • I have been doing crossfit for 6 months now, i have gained 10kg/22lbs of muscle mass. I would say it is all about nutrition and not training.

  • Been watching quite a few of your vids lately and just subbed. The o/h and I have just started crossfit after a year or a so in the gym, loving the atmosphere at crossfit.

  • Atleast he look into before just hate on it. Body builders dont know what they are talking about it. If your body builder atleast learned it before make there ignorant comments

  • I´ve been doing this for 2 weeks straight everyday… no results yet, im starting to mix it with cardio and good diet. I’ll keep you guys posted.

  • Jesus fucking Christ whos the bitch that signed off on putting 6 unskippable ads in the middle of the workout. I’m not even done with the video yet so there might even be fuckin more.

  • Excellent video I have recently been adding some metcon stuff to my workouts but due to lack of knowledge, I only really have 1 EMOM and a ladder/pyramid so really helpful to get some more ideas to try out cheers!

  • i saw all kind of video with Bodybuilder trying something. body builder trying army training, bodybuilder trying climbing, body builder doing crossfit, doing mma training, doing Boxing training and all of the time the body builder look a hundered time more exausted than the other guys in that sprot and also those guy in the sport can also lift heavy weights…. im just saying.. maybe body building is might ot be the best sport to be in real shape.

  • if you do crossfit properly (which includes lost of work for the muscles) there really isnt any need to do extra bodybuilding imo. Its probably counter productive, imagine you do a tough bb shoulder workout in the morning then your evening crosfit is all shoulder work again?

  • I am not sure whether to go to the gym before or after watching! Very addicting show you have!

BTW I would be thoroughly interested in seeing what kind of GAINS you two could get from changing to a much more restrictive diet!

  • I have been a personal trainer for a number of years and a great way of joining two ‘styles’ I have found to work while training is 5,3,1. If you search for Wendler’s 5-3-1 programme for cross-fitters there are several PDFs. It consists of powerlifting compounds at different intensities and volumes followed by assistance work. This can be coupled with metcons. Craig if you want an example of one of my months programming following this to show others I’m more than happy to send it to you!

  • With a massive amount of respect to Josh Bridges (seriously VERY few can legitimately comment on his performance) swimming in open water has been in the games for years now and he is a good swimmer! swallowing water to the extent of getting sick and it affecting him at the games possibly means that he did not spend enough time training in open water swimming. Again i am in now way shape or form any where close to Mr Bridges in any respect. I am in awe of his fitness and work ethic, and engine often i feel Sam Briggs gets the limelight for being an engine, but on the mens side i always think it is Josh. So long story long. I am not worthy vs Josh, but my humble and ill-informed opinion he likely got fatigued in open water, drank too much and got sick. If he trained more in open water. Maybe he would not have got as sick….

  • Love the Indian music you put in the end! Good work man, I’m gonna start bodybuilding with CrossFit but it’s so hard to program what exercises to perform in gym after CrossFit.

  • Hey man just started following you about a week now. Thinking about starting cross fit, if my class work load is not to heavy this semester, due to one of your videos so thanks. Btw I like your music choices if possible can you list them.

  • I don’t think much to lifting heavy free weights. Even if done correctly, I’m sure over time it takes its toll on the back and knees. When your very young you can easily over do things because you may have never been through pain but many years later, you eventually learn to calm down and be careful what you lift. My experience is more working for over 22 years in heavy or fast paced work. No matter what, it takes its toll. Especially when I always and still love a challenge but have slowed down quite a bit now. I just have to go at a steadier pace. We are only human and not machines. Even these young guys in the video, will get older and time will come to slow down. Having a big size is not necessarily that good for the heart. I guess size is one the biggest problems to put strain on the heart.

  • Great advice. Been doing crossfit for a while now but lovely doing bodybuilding, it’s all about mixing it up. Thanks for the video keep it up.

  • Does your bodybuilding ever affect your crossfit? For example are you ever too sore to do crossfit? I like bodybuilding and am fairly new to crossfit and love it.

  • Hey, enjoying your posts. As a Powerlifter coming to CrossFit I just have issue with Body Builders and your comments make me cringe. In a way CF and Powerlifting are similar, lift this and you PB or you win. Body Building is so subjective you can never PB or win. All that commitment for what?

Sill, I’m going to keep watching and see how you get on mate.

  • If you think this CrossFit competitor is great, what until you see Tia-Clair Toomey in the gym, in a competition, etc. Tia-Clair is an athlete’s athlete (yes, she is that good).

  • Great video. I was a huge hater too until I educated myself and actually tried Crossfit. I never turned back. Still throw some bodybuilding work in once or twice a week but Crossfit itself has helped my physique

  • I really enjoyed this video, you have a really amazing perspective because it’s so true! Everyone seems to give crossfit a bad rep because no one really knows enough about it, we just know what we see! Great video, can’t wait to see more man! Just subscribed!:)

  • You never fail to fire me up! Combining Crossfit with Bodybuilding? Yeah, I know you do that, but according to what you’re trying to achieve in bb, I wonder if cf could interfere with your sculpting the desired look you’re after, rather than enhancing it??? Only time will tell.:)

  • I’ve been wanting to improve on my shoulders. This helped me out a lot. All I do currently is the military press and shrugs. I’ll definitely implement some of these into my workout! Good stuff again lad!

  • that bench press in the kitchen = awesomeness!!! XD
I think crossfit is a great type of training but like you mentioned is about knowing how to do each exercise correctly.
But the one thing that I simply cant forgive or get my head wrapped around is the pull ups.:P

  • The music while the crossfit video is the shhhh***ttt, It make me want to go to the gym for another session but my body wouldn’t love my haha nice new series man it bombss

  • Craig, recently started following your journey and am transitioning from competing at physique. I also train in UFit so let me know when your down next and we’ll have a session.

  • As a person who became a CrossFitter a year ago, I took way too much pleasure/amusement in watching this guy suffer through a chipper. Serious, good job man! You right, it is a huge sense of accomplishment when you finish any CrossFit workout.

  • I tackle this workout every morning and evening and it still leaves me in a pool of sweat. Real intense and I’m seeing results. Thanks a lot.

  • I can get through a fun level triathlon without even knowing I’m doing it but as soon as I touch one of those cross bikes I drop like a sack of shit. They’re something else.

  • I love these kinds of videos. Not afraid to show weaknesses that need improving. Very refreshing instead of people pretending their perfect.

  • Yessss! So glad you loved the gym I go to. Ufit is amazing, as you seen has everything you need and more. So bummed that I didn’t know you was going that day! The let’s call it Cross fit area is called ‘the container’ and they do free Olympic lifting classes every day for members. Hopefully catch you next time your in Cardiff/ Ufit gym.

  • Mate absolutely love your work!!Your passion for life, fun and just being real is so inspirational!!!!
I think you are an amazing beautiful person with a beautiful
relationship and family. You are now my YouTube personal trainer that I feel has all the
best tips, techniques, one percenters and is fun to watch and learn from.Thank you for being AMAZING!!

  • I’m sure the cross trainer would get out of breath as well. No matter how young or fit you are. I don’t know how good it is for the body to push yourself to that level.

  • For those of you seeking an interval timer, to use at the gym once you have the sequence memorized, I found Dreamspark’s Interval Timer to be a great app. (Play Store) Simple to program, and it has audio reminders that the end of a set is coming, as well as when the next one starts. One can set the rest interval appropriately, as well. Very handy! Adjustable volume.

  • Well done matt. As an ex military guy I can tell you, you have the mental fortitude required for overcoming the impossible. Giving something when you feel like you’ve got nothing left is something a lot of people will never understand. The day you filmed this, you proved to yourself and everyone else your mental toughness. BZ pal

  • this shows how much crossfitters can build muscle and also be conditioned at the same time. but cant neglect what each sport is trying to achieve. functional training is very useful. someday or one people will always choose functional over one dimensional training.

  • After watching you for about 7 months now im going to my first crossfit workout on tuesday and im freaking exicted about starting. You really opend my eyes for this Sport and i think its the coolest combination of all Sports.

  • Props to you man. This is actually a pretty insane crossfit workout. No matter how fit you are, not being used to this style of training, and doing this workout must have been grueling.

  • Great video!!! New viewer here and I also feel Crossfit is so much better for me…. personally I sometimes miss the gym and weight training but I feel the huge variety of exercises in Crossfit sessions make you a better athlete and performance sky rockets through the roof!

  • Hey it would be good if you could send me some protein because I’m trying to fit it in buts it’s hard to buy all the time because I’m a student

  • I lift 3 times a week and do crossfit 3 times a week as well and I LOVE it. My body is getting stronger, leaner and I can see my muscles growing! protein please!!!!

  • By stepping out of your comfort zone you’re a already a winner! That’s the main reason I follow both of your channels, keep it up

  • 16:37… I replayed the hand shake like 10 times. Shit was funnier each time. Matt didn’t even have the strength for a handshake

  • And the cross fit people can’t hang with the bodybuilders either. Significant strength differences. Personally, I couldn’t see the benefits or physical results of carrying a dumbbell over my head as I ran around the gym. But that’s me

  • So u look pretty much the same after 2 years of cross fit. If you continued lifting for 2 years, you would’ve probably gotten better at the looks??

  • I have to say. I once upon a time did this workout and I have never had the body that you do and I was screaming “come on keep going just with half reps.” You would of learned a lot about your self and felt great if you went another round. If you would’ve just embrace the suck and Kept going. Thanks for the video and great try. You should come back and try again.

  • What exactly is the benefit of putting deadlifts in a circuit with submax loads and against time (as many reps as you can in a minute…????) instead of doing straight sets in every rep range you will choose and taking all the benefits from this exercise (strength, mass building, hormones increase)??

  • I liked what you said at the end of the commentary, although I have some ups and downs in regards to crossfit, it does make you a better athlete and that is what is all about. Becoming healthier, more explosive, athletic, and strong

  • What a wonderful video. Thank you so much. This video was extremely helpful. I like how you explained the difference between the Crossfit and bodybuilding and how you train and how it feels. Also I totally agree with the change of the mind set. How I perceive the world has changed since I have started CrossFit. Thank you!

  • Crossfit has no programing, you do complex olympic lifts for time which sets you up for injury, and your form in most exercises is aweful. I wasted a year on that bs. Run away from it!

  • Try and show us some more struggle and grit when you are wodding without speeding up the movements. can compare you to me then haha. haven’t been doing it long myself having been a natural competitive bodybuilder previously. but absolutely love it. keeps us shredded as well.

  • Cool vid, im on the bodybuilding team for sure, if you could send me a tub that would be cool because I’m a uni student and the price of protein is killing me

  • You can gain muscle and strength and athleticism from CrossFit depending on the program you do. If you do your local gyms run of the mill cardio based workout with amateur trainers you will probably not be happy with he results if you are coming from a bodybuilding background….but with the right program that’s lifting based and a little more hardcore you can absolutely see your body transform. You will tend to become more dense and less puffy which some like and some don’t. You can target muscles better with bodybuilding…you can target strength more with powerlifting….CrossFit is more of an all around performance boost which will boost overall ATHLETICISM…..weird almost like they named it CROSS Fit for a reason hahaha

  • Before You do crossfit I urge anyone to try first powerlifting to build proper technique with squats, deadlifts, c&j etc it is crucial for Your safety.

  • Did you have someone to push you while you were bodybuilding? A trainer or partner? Or you did it alone?
Can the change be attributed to the fact that in crossfit you work in groups and therefore you feel the need to push your self/ motivated by the box’s trainer and not to the type of exercise itself?

  • Bodybuilding is completely useless though. Terrible cardio, overrated “isolation” exercises. Low intensity. Barely using any compound exercises with the execption of the most overrated exercise there is, the bench.
So many bodybuilders don’t even do the standing press or the deadlifts, and hardly ever do any of the olympic lifts. No snatch, no cleans. No functional training what so ever. Not to mention their messed up view that the body is like a stack of lego, when in reality it performs like a unit. Just as it should and just as it was meant to do.

  • Hey rich, I hope u can answer this. It seems like your solid bodybuildnig foundation has still shaped ur body good and u shred more fats getting into crossfit? is that how it is in ur opinion? cause I’m still a hybrid bodybuilder crossfitter. and I’m looking for more opinions regarding it.

  • Craig nutrition can be very expensive for crossfitters. What are your tips for making the most out of your meals and keeping the cost as low as possible

  • Decently a good gym workout…especially for Me who’s wanna become a Professional Football player its very helpful! And here in England you need to be physical

  • I’ve recently shifted from a kind of body building approach to crossfit (Im not a professional or anything even close to that, but i’ve done some decents gains down the road). I would really like to get some advice from you. I am currently doing crossfit 4 to 5 times a week, and 3 times a week some specific olympic lifting. Do you think it would be wise to do only 3 times a week crossfit and try to hit some chest, arms and back with accesory workout like 2 times a week (just to focus a little bit more on some body parts).
Thank you in advanced and keep it up, your videos are great!

  • Hey richey, talking from Spain and my story is exactly the same than yours was. Full time bodybuilder into full time crossfiter. And the reason was that i was fucking burnt out from bodybuilduing hahha i literally saw myself while i was watching your video.

  • Haven’t done crossfit in over a year and just watching this oh my goodness I just felt like my chest was raicing. But great job to the bodybuilder, his friend is a beast!!

  • You gave it your all. You should be hella proud. Obi is a sexy giant chocolate monster and even he was tired. Fantastic job. After this you curl up under your wife and pass out for the night. Lol

  • I just started lifting weights and working out about a year ago and my stamina is better but definitely not CrossFit level. As a softball player I need more cardio lol I need to do CrossFit

  • Fun video! I can definitely appreciate both aspects of training! Oh and I would love to try out this protein, sounds delicious!:)

  • cool how u say like every morning u get up ready to take the world…but i feel like you just go to the gym…if that is taking a world…then your world is pretty small…. i workout…i feel good…and after that come bigger tasks…not necessarily involving weights…

  • I think any fitness is a good thing. I’m more into bodybuilding and I use a few elements from crossfit but to each his own! Thanks for the informative Vlog.☺

  • I do CrossFit 6 days a week and I am SO GLAD my gym doesnt have any of those ski machines
Those devil press’s are killer though

  • I feel the exact same is happening to me… mentally! It feels much better to be excited about performance rather than judging my physique . It’s exciting again 😉

  • Cool video and great job Mayhem. But it looks so odd to be riding a bike without a shirt. I used to race bikes for a living in the US and Belgium and shirtless riding just looks weird unless you are cruising on the beach. If only for some protection if you fall, put on a jersey man… But you can do what you want. Keep up the good work.

  • Looks like great fun. I was really into Triathalons, Marathons & duathlons for 5 yrs or so. I now workout in the gym 3hrs daily x 5 days a week. Lost 19kg & 10% body fat. ( 30min abs/core, 2hr weight workout & 30 min cardio run, jump rope or swim )
Any new ideas, challenges or workout plans anyone would suggesting or want to share are welcome. Thanks

  • Great job! Honestly. Rich in an amazing person who inspires others including me. I really look forward to my future me to be fit enough as the triathlon athletes are! Up top!

  • Chase and Rich came in 11th and 12th with pretty good time.

  • Such a cool video. Everyone looked like they got fitter/overcame some physical and mental hurdles! Love seeing Rich be an endurance beast now.
