  • This is my 3 worst tips I’ve seen for bodybuilding:

    1) You need high doses to become a pro. (Absolute BS)

    2)you can burn fat and build muscle at the same time.(it’s impossible regardless of what your diet or training or drug use is like)

  • What about “PULL-OVERS”? I remember I was going heavy one time and suddenly I heard a crack inside my right shoulder. After that, my flexibility of that shoulder was always less than of the left one. Is this really a productive exercise or something to be recommended to others?

  • That repelling injury was no freak accident, the man is a giant. Just because you can lift huge weights take steroids eat and get buff doesn’t make you a well rounded athlete. It actually truly pigeon holes you as an athlete, my grandma could have repelled better than that man and she is clumsy. I wouldn’t call it bad luck I’d call it a lack of wise choices.

  • With roids I did few cycles and got really little to no sides except for really pungent fierce smelling flatulence and that was why I stopped doing them. I train at a gym, I don’t have the room for lots of equipment at home. In busy gym I had several hugely embarrassing flatulence incidents e.g. one time there was a lot of girls in the gym who had just come out of an exercise class, I was doing squats on smith machine and started doing really violent sustained farts and at first they laughed though some looked disgusted but as the really foul pungent smell hit them they moved away and some even went outside just to get fresh air. I was so red faced, I actually went to the locker room got changed and went home. So seriously beware of really powerful sustained flatulence that has a very strong pungent smell that hangs around for minutes, that might be no big deal if you are at home training but if at a public gym be wary of that! After I stopped roids cycle I never got such flatulence again so it was definitely caused by doing them.

Also don’t go heavy on your shoulderexercises, you have to pump blood in there. Maybe the only one to go heavy is a dumbellor barbellpress. And the worst exercise, he didn’t mention, namely “around the world”, this one really destroys your shoulders.

  • Great info, I’m a subscriber to your channel and have a question regarding what you said about using light weight for leg extensions to finish a leg workout. I’m 38 and just had a total hip replacement for my left hip. I couldn’t work out anything below my waist for 4 months due to the pain while I waited for surgery. This combined with 2 additional months of recovery time after surgery, resulted in me losing all the muscle in my legs.

    My surgeon said I can never do squats/deadlifts/rack pulls/inverted leg press/lunges ever again if I don’t want to ruin my new hip. So what do I now to build back muscle in my legs? Squats were the only thing that seemed to work for my genetics, but the surgeon said something about my hip anatomy is off and that’s dangerous for squats. Leg extensions are all I have left to train my quads, but they hurt my knees when using enough weight to cause any hypertrophy, and if i reduce the weight I get no results. Any advice? I really need some help. Thanks

    In 1:20 when you say that some people train with poor form, not extending and contracting on exercises, do you mean to say that all forms of restricted movement training is wrong? In other words, aren’t there some exercises that produce greater effect when trained in certain (positions of flexion)? I thought that this type of training is ok and even exceptional especially when one includes several exercises for a given body part which, overall, will cover the entire range of motion for that body part. Your further thoughts on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Best in Health, Wesley

  • If you do the alternative upright row, will it still work out the traps? My traps are a weak point so doing the upright rows helps me train the traps and I’ve noticed a difference in them.

  • Very true, just hit 37yrs old and have been dealing with major knee pain issue because of Hack Squats. Hack Squats at 800lbs knees not in the correct position thinking I would work out different muscle groups if I did both versions inside and outside. Paying for that mistake. Had the same mentality as every kid when I started, twenty years back, I thought I was indestructible.

  • don’t believe everything you hear. The press behind the neck is fine as a muscle building exercise. However you have to do it properly. Lighter weight to keep the reps in the range of 12-18, and NEVER DO FULL RANGE! EVER! ON ANY EXERCISE. STOP BEFORE LOCKOUT, JUST LIKE THE BENCH. ND NEVER GO ALL OF THE WAY DOWN. STOP AT THE BUMP ON THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD!

I first learned about not pulling or pushing weights behind the neck from Corey Everson on her TV Show. I would like to see someone like you telling the truth about the “scams” Doctors are pulling off with “a A fib”……Cardioversion…Ablation…Metropolol. eg.: The “doctors” had me on 10mg and kept bumping me up to 100mg and my blood Preasure went up to 185. I asked the “doctors” why was this happening? Their favorite comment was: “Daaaa I don’t know? Something told me to stop taking it. A week later after not taking it, I got a BP monitor in the mail. Guess what? My blood Preasure was and is perfect. Knowing this, my heart doctor prescribed Metropolol. This is the doctor that prescribed and did the Cardioversion. My heart rate has always been around: 65-70. Now it hovers around: 85-90. I e -mailed a picture of Marty Feldman standing over Frankenstein in the lab and said: “I thought that I would send you a picture of a earlier version of Cardioversion. I’ve also had 2 back surgeries and have a very bad shoulder from a skiing accident when I was 19, I’m 48 now. I credit lifting with giving me some quality of life back, I was in a very dark place after a very dark divorce. Everything I read about working out and it helping with stress,anxiety,depression was 100% true. I just had to put in the work and change my diet. The strength and muscle size is only a bonus for myself, I workout 100% for the mental. Though I’m enjoying my gains and new look in the mitt or more and more. I’ve learned to love working out,but it hasn’t been the easiest process. There is so much bad info out there,and almost none on what you discussed here.   • Bad form is a major culprit. The exercises you mention have workrd for years for many. Check your form. Ive seen bad form everywhere,even by some developed guys. Id like to see how evryone giving bsd advice looks like.

  • Mike’s freaking towel home training is about this muscle contracting thing. Plus I dont think you need to know every theory for every practice. Just follow someone who has what you want, you will see results.

    1. Squat.. bad for knees, makes the waist and hips too big
    2. Bench press.. bad for elbows, can tear pecs, and gives you droopy chest
    3. deadlits.. can break the back, once back gone, its over, doesnt isolate any muscle, waste of time, ego lift
    4. chin ups. bad for shoulders.. waste of time
    5. over head press, doesnt isolate anything can get hurt. BAD.

    Please if you care about not growing dont do the above.

  • I agree with pretty much everything you said but when you called a wide grip upright rows I think it’s more like a high pull you bend your back over slightly otherwise your wrists are bent too much thank you

  • I really appreciate your advice jerry but what you say about behind neck pressing is wrong. Because you assume that everyone has impingement in a behind neck position, when only a fraction do. As many people have impingements in other positions like bench press and squatting but I don’t hear you telling people to avoid those. Lifters should learn to identify where they have impingement, where they don’t and how to deal with it. I Have no impingement on behind neck press for example but severe impingement on incline press making it almost instantly injuresome. I have impingement on bench press but can avoid it by using a narrow grip and doing special rotator cuff stretches. We are not all the same.

  • I never do leg extensions or hack squats. I do upright rows but I do it like Gironda said, shoulder width and no higher than nipple area, gets my traps extremely sore. I don’t do anything behind the back. I very rarely do any front raises

  • I need a discussion here.. Anyone out there, OPINIONS!!! i do flyes like Arnold did them. I go as low as my shoulder mobility can go. That way i never felt pain at all. Once i realized that form was asking for trouble i did scoobys style, flyes on the ground. I actually felt my front delt in massive pain bc the range of motion stopped at the shoulder level, i felt more of my shoulder doing the movement rather than my chest. What should i do! Like i know Arnold’s way is risky and i am 30 years old, i wouldn’t want to get older than feel the pain..but the safe way was hurting me real fast

  • Deadlifts are of very little use to a Bodybuilder. I see twigs in the Gym pulling a heavy weight with no back development. However people still insist it´s a magical exercise.

  • roll your shoulders back and down and overhead presses are fine either in front or behind the neck this will prevent any rotator cuff impingement any exercise is damaging if done with improper form

  • A few issues I have with this.

    1) Behind the head barbell press. Yes it is clear anatomically that the position in this exercise puts you are greater RISK of shoulder issues. Crossing the road also puts me at greater RISK of getting run over but I still do that. Why? It is risk assessment. It is clear that some people simply have better joints than others. Some people can bend their fingers back till they touch their forearm. If I tried that I’d snap my wrist.

    I’ve also heard people say that wide grip pull ups aren’t good for everyone because the range of motion of the shoulders (in SOME people) isn’t very high. Yet they make out like the behind the head press is universally going to injure you. Yeah……

    This guy has shoulder problems in old age. Assumes it is because of his behind the head presses. Has no actual proof. Now THAT is bro logic.

    3) Just because there’s more than one way to target the front deltoid doesn’t mean front raises are worthless. Do incline presses on chest day. Do front raises on shoulder day. Hitting the muscle twice over a split in different ranges of motion. Literally THE bedrock of bodybuilding.

    At the end of the day bodybuilding in general is going to put a toll on your body. You can have the most “perfect” workout ever but if you do it long enough you are going to end up in trouble. Just look at Ronnie Coleman. Had a great career. Broke records. Now he’ll likely not walk unaided again. Yet he also probably had similar “wisdom” as this guy.

  • I wish i saw this vid earlier.. i was trying to force negatives first on my bicep curls and after some time i expirineced big pain in my elbows… elbows man… i think these joints are the last you should feel pain in. i’m glad i was just trying them out on 1 exercise, imagine if you screw your knees or shoulders with them, joints which are more likely to crush.
