  • My bf is getting back in the gym and I’m thinking of getting him a gym bag filled with gym stuff for Christmas. This was really helpful!

  • New subscriber here!

Planning to start full calisthenics as soon as I got my door frame bar.
Sir, can you please share the measurements of your garden bars?

    Thank you

  • Hey dudes, thanks for the comprehensive video. I might be a little late to ask but: I find when I’m doing an exercise variation typically done for higher reps (romanian deadlift, bulgarian split squats, hanging knee raises) my grip gives out before the muscles I actually want to work and I know I could get a couple more reps otherwise. You mentioned high weight being the reason to use lifting straps, but would high(ish) reps be a valid reason too?

  • Damn, i went to 3-4 stores and no rings,it’s not available online,if they’re available, it will take 2 month for shopping, anyone know where i can find them in saudi arabia?

  • Bullcrap, what a waste of money, you must be really dumb if you think you need all this for a good workout, save youre money for more useful things

  • quick notes, check you grip form when bench pressing, you are over-stressing wrists, that’s why it causes you pain, the bar should right above your wrist, keep your hand/palm neutral

  • On the knee wraps. The reason I don’t use it is because of the “underlying problems”. If my body tells me my knees are fucked up, stop, I am listening to my body. Call me pussy, but at least I am a pussy that can still exercise, even if I have to lower the weight or do something different

  • These are good for when you been going for a while imo beginners doesn’t really need belt or knee wrap until they start to go heavy.

  • You honestly dont need any of these fancy things like knee sleeves. Just a change if clothes, water, bottle, music, and a set mind

  • What do you think about Terron Beckham saying he’s most alike to you? Would a collab be possible? Keep grinding bro

Ps. I tried your push workout the other day and it was awesome, destroyed me but a good destroy. Could you make one for pull day, thanks

  • TRX doesn’t have to be expensive. I bought generic ones (IRibit) for like $20 and just hung them on my ring cables. They are excellent for niche exercises (like ring curl, TRX crossovers, etc.). They might also increase difficulty of dips (you have one less dimension of stability than the rings: your wrists can roll)

  • great! adding a few extras:
you can get TRX knockoffs much cheaper decathlon has them
-resistance bands are absolutely killer and if you get 3 different sizes u can do tons of exercises, you can put 2 together to get double the resistance
in addition to exercises and making things easier bands can also be used to make exercises harder, like pushups etc.
-if you travel a lot then bands and TRX is the way to go you can take them with you nothing else can be carried around just as easily.

  • The ancient Greeks brought themselves, nothing more, and all aesthetics are still compared to them. “Pre-workout”, “straps”, “music”, good job making other people rich.

  • Not watched youtube videos for while life/ gym keeping me too busy but what a video to come back to actually making me laugh out loud! Quality as always Lex has been since the days off being in that small house on the balcony recording informative yet entertaining videos. Your also the reason my wardrobe is full of gymshark clothing! much respect to you mate cheers

  • Last 2017, A guy approach me with a silly face and tells me only girls wears wrist straps after that i punch him straight in the face and broke his nose and ended up going in the hospital. I know its bullshit, a year and a half after, he died.

  • One of the things that had really helped me out is with this new smart-watch I found. I like it so much better than my fit bit, actually. I also bought my nephews one and they love it as well. Check it out and let me know what you think? It is going for $29 Dollars.

  • Check this same topic post for gym essentials. This will help you a lot

  • IARA FCB Stylish Gym Bag Duffle Bag Travel Bag Gym Bag

  • Hey dude! When you talk about the parallettes those first ones you show are designed to be likely used for push-ups. Various position of the parallettes will then activate different muscle groups while doing push-ups. Check out ‘power press up board’ to get an idea of this. I sort of agree with you that they are not the best piece of equipment and the bigger ones are hella lot better, but you are comparing tools with a different purpose. Hope I have learned you today something new son. Till later…

  • Bro wtf for 30 minutes I’ve been trying to find out what kind of protein cup that was!! And I still haven’t found it. Least you can you is put a description in your bio or show us

  • Jesus is there any part of your body that’s not covered in a brace or sleeve of some sort whilst Workin out lol, anyways not hatin it’s obviously Workin for u bro

  • Lifting gloves and those fat grip bar attachments.

  • Great video once again, really insightful, I’ve got an Amazon cart full of new ideas for training. A supplement video would be call which relates to how you currently train today and your thoughts are on them as well as maybe myth busters on why you don’t take other “more commercial” supplements

  • Really helpful tip about the weighted vest and weighted belts. I was about to purchase a vest but hearing your explanation on how uncomfortable and hot it can be really saved me a lot of money to just get the belts as I already have plated weights already lying around the house.

  • Hello trainingPal

At the risk of being heavy or intrusive, I would like to ask you the measures of your garden setup bar, such as:

Are the two square bars made of galvanized steel?

    Pull-up bar height

    Width of the same

    Height of the parallels

    Separation of the bars

Height of the two bars for the flag

Thanks for your videos, they are really instructive.

    A greeting.

  • Nice video, got a few more new things I need to add to my gym bag. I’m curious though. A lot of good quality protein brands come with BCAAs. Do you feel it’s worth the extra money to buy them seperate or is a preference thing?

  • I haven’t even watched the vid yet… just saw your smile & wanted to say Hi Obi !

Edit: just watched! That’s a lot of stuff in your gym pocketbook

  • Man, great video. I really enjoy watching all of them. Here i learn a lot to make my videos great too. Keep them coming bro. I’ll learn a lot everyday. Any new creator here?????

  • I want to know about lifting shoes. I can’t find vids from Athlean X, Infinite Elgintensity or Buff Dudes. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  • Great video. Another tool would be a gym towel that can hold your keys and wallet. The Easy Gym Towel has 2 huge zippered pockets that will hold any phone on the market.

  • It’s not often, you come across a genuine calisthenics dude that is more knowledgeable and informative than he is in love with himself and how ripped he looks with his top off … Keep up the good work TrainingPal!

  • I just realised I do the valsalva maneuver all the time
I didn’t know it existed kr I had tk do it. It was just something I did instinctively

  • 6:45 so my left forearm and wrist are fucked up right now. I can only lift light, if I go heavy, holy shit it hurts. My forearm feels like it’s going to explode and my wrist, just fuck my wrist. Can I use the External Compression for my forearm and wrist for that nice stable compression to help me lift heavier? I haven’t gone to the gym in 2 weeks because of the pain in the wrist and the exploding feeling of the forearm when I go heavy.

  • X Bar: What moron made this ad? Show the product, man!! You waste our time talking and talking until we are desperate. SHOW FIRST, EXPLAIN LATER. And, by the way, that stupid gadget ad, the one that they put in a door, has the same problem.

  • Why is it bad to have an inconsistent width weight belt? Also, you forgot to mention, that it supports your lower back so you don’t get injured.

  • TBH im kinda into those honorable mentions as a form of machine workout. they actually looked like they’d work (not the sauna one, ew)

  • So yes this is ALOT but for me these are essential as the way i train varies, also as this is also my job i tend to take things like camera /tripod everywhere with me and the laptop is just days i do 2 sessions in the same box which i use the downtime to edit etc… just wanted to show what i carry around with me whenever i head to the gym, BUT obviously you won’t need the extra equipment if it doesn’t apply to you!

  • Jesus… You took a gym with you in to the gym?:D Also I have the feeling that I have to live in a gym to get that physique you have. A gym bag essential is a pair of slippers, a towel and your gym wear. All others are just distractions 😉 I liked your leg workouts though. You should have mentioned to have an essential wheel chair in your bag for those sessions:D:D

  • 22 dislikes, must be people who think they don’t need no wrist wraps, or straps for those heavy lifting:^) I myself would like to say you should also invest in an arm blaster, one great item for arm day

  • I have some special weight lifting Belts for you,you will sell it in your country and get huge profit, for more information contact us on our instagram account gul-pro-fitness

  • Srsly many tv products are useless and a waste of time and materials to make them everyday for people to use their stupit products and take money

  • I like my knee sleeve for squats
There not super tight or compressed but the keep the knee nice and warm and make the lift for me anyway more enjoyed

  • wrist wraps with curls, because my right side wrist is somehow weaker and its painful. oddly enough I dont need them for any other excercise.

  • A towel, water bottle and padded gloves. That’s right, I have soft girly palms and I own that shit. I hate thick callous pads on my hands.

  • Jesus Christ, just get in the gym and train. straps, wraps, Bands yes will protect you but just warm up properly, stretch, get massaged often and lift heavy weight lol. Don’t get caught up in this bullshit. They never had none of this shit back in the day and it’s probably why they looked 10x better than anyone in the game right now. They used to squat on planks of wood, fuck weightlifting shoes lol

  • After 2 wrist surgeries following a compound fracture and hairline fracture I’ve been reduced to using wrist wraps for bench, shoulder presses, and dips. Lately I’ve noticed heavier rows have affected it as well. The real reason I go in early so no one sees the guy putting on wraps with 180 haha.

  • Yo good tips obi. A few items I haven’t thought of I want to try out. I just made my gym bag essential video myself. I could think of about 9 items!

  • What you need in your gym bag:
    0. Your gym membership card
    1. Sports Cloths and shoes

    2. 2 towels, one for the cardio and one for showering
    3. A bottle for water (or other liquids)
    4. Flip-flops or something similar to prevent direct contact with the shower room floor.
    5. Fresh underwear, socks and shirt (Optional, but good practice)
    5. Shower gel, deodorant, (cologne), hair wax/gel

Keys, smartphone, headphones are usually always present, when you leave the house.

  • I’m selling MiR weight bars that go inside a weighted vest if anyone is interested. They’re new and unused, my vest was canceled so I don’t need the bar weights. This is the link to the item.

  • LEX!! Are aware of a really good gym in Leeds City centre or Bradford City centre? I have a long lay over there the end of August there so it’d be awesome to hit up a new meathead factory.

  • Wouldn’t these make the strengths and stabilities of your joints lag behind you muscles’ abilities? perhaps it is a better idea to simply work your grip strength, core, etc. instead

  • Hi! I’m now just going to the gym and doing the regular main lifts/exercises, but i want to start doing crossfit. But i dont know how to do crossfit, like how are workouts scheduled? Would you like to make a video on how to start with crossfit? Like an example workout for a week?

  • Yo Lex, now I want to stack up on my Gym hahahah:D Great compilation but for now I have to save the money for traveling….. Are you coming to any expos soon?:D

  • One of the things that had really helped me out is with this new smart-watch I found. I like it so much better than my fit bit, actually. I also bought my nephews one and they love it as well. Check it out and let me know what you think? It is going for $29 Dollars.

  • Wrist wraps check!
    Knee sleeves check!
    Straps check!
    belt check!
    Squat shoes check!
    Headphones check!
    Water bottle + pump check
    Towel check!
    Bag check!

    …alastic Speedo check! wait.. what?

  • Hi bro,
What do you think of te climbing pegboard? I hace un mind yo buy a bar for pullups or a pegboard, but, I am not sure, in your opinion, which one do you think is better since I have been training calisthenics for 3 months?

  • I used to deadlift without straps, but as I put on more weight on my deadlift, my hands started to slip off.. I decided to go on bodybuilding forums and they all told me to buy lift straps, so I went and bought the cheapest pair I could find. Literally only 8 bucks LOL! Guess what, I have them till this day and I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT THEM!

Just for info: You won’t find them below 8 bucks, literally insane. I got them here btw:

  • Always enjoying your videos, but you need to slow down a bit your speech, for those who English is a second language like me(sometimes I have to watch them twice…lol)…thanks for your videos….keep it them post….

  • Good God. I’m surprised he didn’t recommend everybody bring an altitude mask.

Weight belts: Most people now understand that they don’t need belts for their workouts. The days of every guy showing up at the gym with a weight belt in his bag ended about 25 years ago. Belts provide a placebo effect for about 80% of the people who use them. Only a small fraction of people in the gym are doing the movements and moving the weight that actually require you to use a belt.

Knee sleeves: Pretty much the same thing goes for knee sleeves. If you want to look like a middle-aged softball player, that’s fine. But if you need support for your knees, get actual support and, again, only if the movements and weight you are doing necessitate it.

Fitness trackers generally don’t really work for shit. If you want to set goals, find an app and log the amount of time, intensity and type of workout. That’s going to do just about as good of a job, and you won’t be that douche who walks around the gym with a frigging fitness tracker on.

Lifting straps? Again, only for people doing certain movements moving a lot of weight. Otherwise, if your hands are too weak to maintain their grip, it’s a pretty damn good sign that it’s time for you to stop doing that movement before the rest of your form breaks down and you hurt yourself.

Pre-workout: if you’re too fucking stupid to know how to get caffeine and sugar some other way and are desperate to have the local GNC vacuum out your wallet. The money saved can pay for courses about how amino acids and protein work.

Wrist wraps: If you are more of an exhibition lifter and give a shit what everyone around you thinks about what you’re doing, by all means use wrist wraps. But if you are okay putting a little less weight on the bar, and doing your lifts in a more physically sound manner that helps you avoid injury, you don’t need them. Just use straight wrists. Seriously, what grown man gives a fuck about what his max is or what his PR is in front of a bunch of strangers at the gym? Whatever moron decided that pressing large amounts of weight with your wrists bent back at almost 90 degrees is a good idea should be taken out and shot.

In general, people are way too concerned about compression these days. Just because a modern NBA player can’t shoot without a fucking condom over is over his arm doesn’t mean you need to wrap every single piece of your body. Those guys can’t even dress themselves or put on condoms, but we’re all busy about making sure we’ve got compression tights and sleeves on.

  • The best gym gear is…
You. Yes you, reading this. YOU are your own best gym gear.
Just you. Just walk in and pick up a weight with what you have on you. Your hands. Grip your fingers around that weight and lift it up.
    Yeah baby.

  • Best equipments:
    Gymnastic Rings (Full Upper body)
Weight Vest (Lower body and upper body too)
Also a Push up bar and dips station.
    And I have none

  • Nice video, by why did you call the channel msmojo? Is there a mrmojo? Or do you think woman will dislike the original blue title!

  • The belts are very smart advice. Especially when you get older. I always have them in my gym bag. Knee and back protection is smart.

  • Watching this guy go through his workout reminds me of the video he did about watches, during which he was wearing a watch that was too big for his wrist during about the first half of the vid.

  • TrainingPal: I do live in very cheap Country.
    Location: United States

From the looks of the houses etc seems like that’s Eastern Europe ( Baltics most likely ).

  • Which training method is best for increase tha size of muscle.
    1. Pro split (1 muscle/per day)
    2. Push & pull workout
    3.full body workout

  • in my workout bag i have inflatable mattress,milk jug,pany pack,gloves,high altitude mask,dive mask,slim jims,flesh light,rain coat,latex gloves,bro powder,zip ties,duct tape,aluminum foil,shaver,toilet paper,foldable lawn chair flat screen tv,water bladder,figet spinner,yo yo,rubix cube,popcorn machine,3pound weights,beats head phones,spare turtle neck,blender,toaster,star wars towels,wookie bag,axe spray,combat knife,100ft rope,tent,ps4,kindle reader,sun screen,bug spray,crocs,goggles,rumba,hermonica,tennis rackets,bike pump,weed killer,origami paper,electrical tape,inflatable pillows,…..thats about it could be missing some things like chess board and canned spam

  • Lol. I think getting the expert advice is more important rather than trying these kind of equipments. I recommend joining a gym or hire a personal trainer because they know their work & they can help you achieve your fitness goals.

  • my neighbor has one if those treadmill bikes and I guess he found it during the covid lockdowns cuz he has been riding it around the neighborhood lately. lol. I think it seems kinda cool though. lol.
also my friend got an electric abb thing and it did nothing but shocked him while he got fatter and fatter. lol. didnt work. hahaha.

  • Thanks for the video. And, by the way, your pronunciation is close to a very good one. Good job in practicing English! I think it worth it because of the main audience in the USA region is more suitable for your purposes than the SNG one. Good luck!

  • What you actually NEED:
Water (dont rely on protein shakes or pre workouts)
Keys with your gym card tag
Dont rely on unnecessary things, this is coming from a girl

  • Mark Bell’s Slingshot is my new favorite gear. I’ll do my normal bench press, and then put the slingshot on to get even more sets and reps. Haven’t tried it with increased weight yet.

  • Tfw you don’t have literally any option for a pull up bar in your house unless you want to spend a lot of money:(

the worse is that this limits my options for excercises with rings as wel..

  • Pull up bar installation. Ended up with 2 heavy duty triangle book shelve brackets screwed to the top of the door king studs with a bar in between. About 1/4″ thick steel and welded cross member completing the triangle, very study no movement/flex at all. Not sure for those 300 pound guys though.

  • Sorry, i really like your vids… but this on is pure bullshit.
Grab some decent sport shoes, short, tshirt, some water and a towl and GO!
Push your lazy as to the limit, it isnt so complicated…

  • Do a vid on shaker bottles and/or protein! Thanks DUDES. and how you handle your smaller items likes keys/ phones/ headphones etc.

  • I hope you’re still deciding to do calisthenics seeing you do a bunch of your workouts inspire me to keep on trying although I’m trying to mix it with weight lifting and calisthenics I like the idea to have full control of my body. There is also this new vest I was going to mention to you since I haven’t seen you post anything about this certain vest, It is called the E-Z Vest by Kensui supposedly it supposed to hold up to 225lbs if I am correct. I think this would help you with your exercises If you have the equipment and hopefully it keeps you going on your journey. I had just purchased the vest myself and I am waiting on it to come in so I can use it too.

  • Well I don’t know if it counts but the TRX straps. I use them to help perfect my form for jump squats, lunges, and curtsey lunges. Oh and my sneakere.

  • Just be careful with the valsalva maneuver, it sky rockets blood pressure while being used and can be dangerous for people with already high blood pressure.

  • I usually use Lifting gloves because i play guitar/bass guitar/drums/piano. I need my hands to be calise-free, otherwise, they’ll rip off while playing in concert, getting blood everywhere.

  • For people who are embarrassed to be stared at in the gym, I don’t think a ridiculous bike/treadmill Frankenstein monster thing is going to stop them being stared at

  • Thanks man. Love the way you get your point across; not patronising to ‘noobies’, yet still informative to people that have been lifting for a few years. Keep up the good work man!

P.S. I can’t be the only one that thinks you should grow the beard back out?!

  • Your Videos are really Interesting and help me always..Btw u really funny have ever thought of starting a youtube channel for comedy:)?

  • The gadgets are good, but some the producers are really dumb. I.e., in the first one, you can hardly see the gadget in operation. It´s not a music videoclip, you morons!

  • Wait I’m confused, isn’t the valsalva manuver like that thing u do when u tryna shit on the toilet? But then you’re suppose to squeeze ur glutes like u are trying to holding ur shit in, so it contradicts????

  • You don’t need ANY of these equipment and they are ALL VERY expensive. Just get yourself couple of dumbbells and cheaper alternative of resistance band, and if you like push ups…then do push ups on the floor, honey instead of $150 “xbar” lol
