Why is it So Hard to Lose Weight?

Video taken from the channel: Discovery

If you don’t work out consistently enough, it’s hard to lose weight. Yes, it’s possible to lose weight through diet alone, but you’ll likely hit a plateau at some point. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym; you only need to set up a reasonable workout schedule that you can follow each week. Why is it so hard to lose weight?

It’s a question many, if not most, people have asked themselves, probably on many occasions. Aside from the obvious food is delicious, exercise is hard. If it seems like the more fat you put on, the harder it is to lose, you’re not imagining things! Losing weight is hard for several physiological reasons. Fat cells never go away.

When you gain weight, your body creates new cells called adipocytes to store the extra fat, and those adipocyte cells never go away. You can burn away the fat inside, but you can’t burn away the adipocytes themselves. Keeping weight off may be even harder than it seems When you begin to lose weight, your body fights to defend the old, higher body weight.

People who were obese and lost a lot of weight have to eat fewer calories to maintain the same weight as someone who naturally maintains that same weight. The reasons why it’s so hard can vary from person to person, particularly due to the role of genetics in weight gain. Read on to learn why achieving your weight loss goal can be so difficult — and whether it’s a good idea to keep trying. This article specifically addresses women, but most of the principles.

Genetics is most likely the biggest culprit to why you have difficulty losing weight in the thighs. Your genes determine the pattern of your weight gain, and the same can be said for weight loss. If you tend to gain weight along the thighs first, losing weight from this area of the body can become difficult. A late-night meal can spell trouble for your weight loss plan.

It may raise your body temperature, blood sugar, and insulin, which makes it harder for you to burn fat. Try to eat dinner at least 3. But, in reality, losing weight is tough, and it’s not because you or anyone else is lazy or just not trying hard enough. It’s because, for many of us, everything from our biology and our. First of all, losing weight is against our nature.

For millions of years, evolution has been teaching our bodies to store energy (in fat) and gain weight. Even though today this mechanism is a bit outdated, it still has control over our behaviour.

  • I am 93 kg and 167 cm, I tried 3 or 4 times to lose weight but when it comes to lose weight I do it in a harsh way end up being sick and regain my weight.
I nearly gave up losing weight, I will apply what you suggested and hope to have the best results ever.
    Thanks you very much.

  • I find it ridiculous that scientists are the ones to have come up with a qualification for “Overweight, and underweight.” Such classifications are full of crap. Anyone in a position of power will create a new classification to “demote,” someone else.

  • I eat less than 1000 calories per day for losing weight and I go to Gym regulary for running and Cardio.. Is this good?? Or something is missing.. Thankyou

  • Hey Kathleen check out Haylie Pomory. She is the only person that has a plan I’ve been successful with in my “older” age:) WW worked great when I was younger but they don’t omit any foods. Haylie states no wheat, no corn, no sugar, no dairy, no caffeine, no etoh, no processed anything.

  • Why are most of the titles of this supposedly uplifting channel so negative??? Consider putting more inviting titles like It’s NOT hard to lose weight. That’s more realistic imo

  • Im 5’5 im 145lbs i have been hitting the gym hard 4-5 times a week with weights and strength training i only eat roughly 1400 cals and even started intermittent fasting for the past month..NO RESULTS. Have not lost one pound. I just wanna give up

  • @LOOTS243 omg, the gaining prosces isnt about a mater of a week or a month gaining muscle can take ages and further more, when u have muscles u loose weight easier

  • Losing weight can be easy if you have all necessary information

Follow EZDALE.com to see how I lost 27 lb in 3 weeks

Lose fat and inches with EZDALE.com

Even negative emotions can cause you are eating.

  • I thought this was going to be a helpful video, and they play the same old evolution card again. So this didn’t help me at all. BTW, not all overweight people eat out at fast food. Eat less, exercise more? Doing that already. Not losing.

  • It is true some foods are a problem. I can not stop. I use to work for McDonald’s. It is a combination of salt, sugar and fat. It lights up your brain.

  • Since I started changing to healthier options of food in preparation for gastric bypass, I find myself craving vegetables. Ive been having a salad at least once a day and veggies with dinner. No potato, pasta or rice. And I quit smoking 22 days ago. Its definitely not easy and we are constantly bombarded with advertising/commercials for junk. Companies seem to put profit over the health of their customers but we arent forced to buy. I dont even go down the snack or cereal aisles at the grocery store.

  • I maintain weight 1900, I want to be like u on the right but I don’t know how? Start lifting weight and eating more? I am afraid of getting even bigger, what should I do, how did u get to look leaner yet maintain on higher cals

  • What drives me even crazier is that all the unhealthy foods are cheaper than what is healthy. Then being on a budget makes it worse because you don’t want to buy all your fruit at one time because it will go bad so it is like you are stuck with ramen noodles and salty can foods and cheap sodas because they have a longer shelf life. Healthy food should be cheaper and junk food should be expensive. Makes more sense to me.

  • If you are female have your levels of the male hormone testosterone checked. Trust me it works knowing this. It is for me. I have hypothyroidism and adrenal fatigue so I know this.

  • Because you won’t stop eating more than your body needs!…recently in Stockholm i barely saw any fat people, but a lot of people jogging, riding the bike etc…Even 70 year old people do healthy sport there.

  • I’m amazed at how relatable you are. I moved from Russia around 11yo and gained weight (I blame the school lunches lol) even though I did soccer. Thank you sm for sharing your story and tips! You have a new fan! (Also I think it’d be sick if you can do a video in Ukrainian/Russian maybe w eng subtitles /just an idea:))

  • This was extremely freakin helpful! I’ve been going to the gym and trying to eat healthy for years now and I just quit because all I’ve been doing is wasting time and not focusing on my own body

  • Thanks for keeping it real man, you’ve helped me a lot. I don’t know a lot about macros or anything so what I’ve been doing is I’ve been eating only a small lunch and a moderate dinner, with lots of water throughout the day and no fast food/processed food. I’ve dropped from 215 pounds on June 6th to 197 as of today. I’m trying to hit 180 by August 25th when school starts but I missed, but I’ll keep going!

  • @zxcts lmao yes i play games but u r way off with me being fat nor a disgustign slob like urself i am far from it and really ur attacking me over shti u have no clue about

i am more educated than urself so plz shut the fuck up about it u have no clue who i am

seriously if u attack me again we all know u like me and obcessed with me

get over it u have no chance with me ur the fat slob who is playing the video games because he he has no life or she even if that is arela pic of urself

  • @frantz yes i won’t take you seriously as you think its ok to judge anyone as you feel how can i take a superficial person seriously as every last superficial person is to insecure about herself to have any right to judge anyone else

  • I had been on the Keto diet for 5 weeks and I have lost 30 pounds, but the last week or two ive lost motivation and started getting back into bad habits, losing weight is hard and staying on a diet is even harder when you lack motivation

  • I feel anyone that says it’s hard to lose weight just arent as motivation as other. Imo weight loss is easy just put a diet and stick to it because 95% diets will show results when you stick to it.

  • My question: If a person is additcted to food and is obese would the best choice be gastric sleeve vs medication because of the exsisting dangers of high BMI, blood pressure, diabetes, and autoimmune disease (MG)? Thank you Dr. for caring and sharing! Please continue to educate and uplift. I will do my part and share the videos too! Unfortunately there are far to many Docs in the weight loss business as a opportunity to make quick money instead of helping their Pt gain long lasting results. You will continue to be sought after for your expertise and passion on weight loss alone.

  • @Boomx2Brian LMAO….”magnetic gravatational pull of your lips to other mens balls”….ba ha ha ha…you had me cryin with your comment this morn!! Thank you…ha ha:)

  • @Boomx2Brian o lmao ur 1 of those superfecial ppl i seen ur profile not much to it but what their is u must be gay and u do have something against fat people lmao seriously i can’t believe i didn’t check ur profile out sooner ur a fucking joke omg what is with all the boy band type shit

  • So I’ve struggled for a long time with weight and started “eating clean” a little over a year and a half ago while lifting weights. But now I’m really trying to get some more muscle mass and lean out (I still have some pudge I want to loose) would purchasing your plan from the link in your box help with that? I just really have no idea what my macros should be and I’ve tried the online calculators and they’re telling me the same macors as you say you’re eating. Around 200 carbs, 50-55 fats, and 120-140 protein. I’m around 138-140 pounds and 5’5”. Just curious as to what your opinion was. Love your channel btw you’re awesome!!

  • @Boomx2Brian all you do it seems is like being a troll u have no brain other than to mock each word i say and not use that brain of urs even if it might be 40% smaller than a horse

you know nothing and each comment we exchange ur only proven it more dill hole

  • I haven’t even finished watching the whole video as I’m writing this (I’m at 7:06) but I can already say that everything you’re saying sounds so useful and makes so much sense!!! This is in my opinion your best sit down video so far. Love you Maryana!

  • Weightlifting is incredible. I just started weight training about two weeks ago, 6 times a week. In that short time I’ve seen changes in how my body looks but also I feel my metabolism has increased. I can eat more now, a LOT more, still in a caloric deficit, than I was able to eat prior to weightlifting. I totally recommend it for anyone who wants to loose weight!

  • Losing weight is not hard. When i want to lose weight i just eat 1000 calories a day and i lose around 3kg 2kg a week. And thats without exercising.

  • @whitestar111
U want to use me being young to say that I dont have enough wisdom to comment, yet u are even younger. Good logic there dumbass. Ur attempt to discredit me, discredits U 10x worse.

U really should remove ur comments, itll keep the rest of the community from realizing what a fucking idiot u are.

It isnt me who is arrogant, it is u who is stupid. Cant even use basic logic to state a claim. Just be quiet and go back to eating your ice cream ok? Leave conservations to the competent

  • Its all about insulin, keep your sugar in control and you will be in control of hunger. Its all a mind game and following intermittent fasting.

  • @lolabunny41378 if he is very young then its normal for him to stay skinny.
if you eat yams, plantains, gumbo and loads of exotic spice.trust me you will loose that extra cheese and oil you have in that body.

  • I’ve lost 85 lbs another 15 to go. And I agree its simple to do so. Without bragging its really not been near as difficult as I thought it would be. I have adapted my diet and eat healthy food and I am never hungry. I eat plenty. And I now enjoy what I eat. Its been the best thing I’ve ever done. I only regret not doing it sooner. But the past doesn’t matter just the healthy happy future now:)

  • Thanks Marisa for this amazing video. You explain so well and love all you do. LOVE,love your soothing voice. Much LOVE. to you.

  • Does the medication you mention, contrivo cause diarrhea? I’ve heard of other ‘weight loss’ RX meds that cause severe diarrhea or anal leakage, especially if you eat something greasy. That’s enough to scare most of us away.

  • I have the opposite problem… it seems no matter what I eat or how much of it, I can’t seem to get passed 60 kg. My height is 175 cm and I’ve got a beer belly… not the most attractive human in existence, you can imagine. ^^

  • @goldeneye007662 well my brother could eat nothing but junk food all day long and he wouldn’t gain weight he has a over active thyroid and people who have the opposite of what he has it seems like its impossible to gain weight

  • @whitestar111
Theres no reason why it should take more than 4 years for grad and 4 years for undergrad. Most ppl start right after high school 1819. With AP classes, you can cut out a year, even 2 years out of undergrad if u can handle the workload.
College at 20? Unless theres hardship theres no reason to start that late. Tho in your case I wouldnt be surprised if you sat on ur ass for 2 years.

  • Marissa you are amazing!!! I love all of your videos and this video really came on the right time. Although I have a slim figure I still have a hard time resisting sugar and I want to resist because of how unhealthy it is! And this video explains exactly how and why!!! Bless you❣️

  • @kimers7685 Me too. I’m pretty lean, but I have to be careful. My metabolism is awful. I go out to eat with my friends, and they can absolutely stuff their faces. They don’t put on an ounce of weight. If I choose to do so, I’ll wake up the next morning with a little belly on me.

  • @whitestar111
I think we have clearly established that you are uneducated fat dumbass. You want to claim that being educated (my phd vs ur hs diploma) is no longer important even though just 2 posts ago you told me to go get an education? Flip flop much?
Ur right. No one said you cant achieve it if u wanted to. The point is that u CHOOSE not to do anything about it. Thats fine 2. but dont sit there doing nothing AND bitch about it too. Dont blame others for what you CHOOSE not to do.

  • @whitestar111
Its easy to dismiss a high degree when you are incapable of achieving it urself.
It has nothing to do with me being mean. I was simply stating the fallacy of what you try to pass off as an excuse. If I fuck up as a result of my own lifestyle or actions then its on me. I cant blame anyone but myself. No one shoved the food down my throat but me.
You on the other hand go through life blaming everyone else for shit youve caused urself. Do you see the faulty logic in that?

  • When I Started working out, I was doing everything right. I didn’t lose any weight on the scale. I was lifting weights and following macros.. some cardio not much.. But I was losing size.. I went down 4 sizes.. I was building muscle and losing fat, but there was no change on the scale. So maybe that’s what was going on with the girl. Sorry if this was already covered, I didn’t want to go through all the comments. lol

  • Wow. I thought it was so unnatural that I can’t stop thinking about cheat food when it’s in the house! Turns out it’s part of my human wiring. You’re right, just by understanding this makes it easier to deal with! Thank you.

  • in my opinion as a chubby women,
its so hard for us to lose weight because we make excuses for ourselves and don’t get to the doing part of losing weight. the best way is to exercise and eat a lot of fresh healthy fruits and veggies instead of eating out 3-4 times a week. it takes discipline and any one can do it if they are determined.

  • My husband and I are polar opposites, if we have chocolate, he will eat it until it’s gone.
I on the other hand, can eat one piece and be good for days.
I have been listening and paying attention to what my body is asking for, and have found myself looking at catfish, and having a debate,
    “Hmm, catfish”
    “I don’t like catfish”
    “But it’s catfish”
“I guess I’m having catfish for dinner” so I got it, made it for dinner, and it was just what my body needed. And there was the other time, where I had to go to 2 different grocery stores, because I was craving turnips of all things. And about 2 years ago, my daughter asked me if I had eaten her ice cream.
Still not sure who was more surprised by my answer of
“Why would I have eaten your ice cream? I don’t like ice cream” There still is no explanation for that, however, as many times as people have tried to convince me to have ice cream, my answer hasn’t changed. So it’s been 2 years without ice cream. The most frequently asked question I get for this statement is
“What do you mean, ‘you don’t like ice cream’?
Much Love and God Bless You

  • I would love to know if you have any videos on not drinking or smoking?l had a very serious trauma 7 yrs ago and started drinking and smoking. My boyfriend of 13 yrs together burnt our lovely rented house down in Tuscany and then hanged himself, and l was left with all the pain, shock and drama to sort out.l had to pay for the lovely house to be rebuilt and l spent ALL my savings plus l had to sell my business to pay for it.l am in dire straites nowl LOVE all your videos and watch them all day.So happy to hear you love Africa ❤l am S African but l live in Florence ltaly.love you so much and cant thank you enough for all your amazing help.with love.x

  • I like to make a ton of food all at once. It’s food I love and crave. Then, I can dream about olives in a lettuce wrap all day, or light butter chicken with brown rice, or carrot, cilantro, mango and plain yogurt sauce (mango is a special treat and since this meal is hard to make, I only eat them every single moment I can, which is very infrequent), cucumber, and fish, in a brown rice summer roll, or the scallops and kale in spicy tomato sauce with no noodles. The scallops are tender like pasta. You get the picture, I’m sure. If I can’t dream about my food at home all day, I then overeat and eat like I don’t care. I still love my potato chips, but now I can mix a tiny bit with a large portion of tuna salad made with cottage cheese. I cannot be as strict as you, I’m slowly making progress. I’m going to use pieces of clementine with my tuna soon, or beans because they can make things creamy, and puréed tofu. Moving away from mayo is a big deal. I’m trying!!!

  • Hey I have a question. How much cardio stair stepper/bike can I do everyday without loosing muscle since I’m lifting 4-5 times a week?

  • always thought calories were the enemy. started lifting and eating like a boss and have never been skinnier! calories aren’t the enemy!

  • Hi I actually tried this I put all my goodies behind doors and there not in eye sight so I don’t crave them. I all so liked it when you showed us how much grease came out a crisp it really put me off. So I tell my self now food is ready available when I want it I can have it anytime when ever I want so now I only have food when I’m hungry. I lost weight with out even trying hard. Thank you.

  • @TheCarlScharnberg Hi. I know there are plenty of angry people on here ready to attack. They don’t bother me. Its silly to get worked up over someone who doesn’t even know you. Thanks for the well wishes and concern though.:)

  • @Ayoubsss dont eat anything all day, eat one big meal before you got to bed. repeat this for a month. the Japanese sumo wrestlers do it to gain weight.

  • What happened to the two clients who had a thyroid issue???? Did the medication help? Did they lose weight?

I have the same issue….. I need hope

  • Would you share some tips for students preparing for competitive exams?
Also would be grateful if you share a short 10 minute meditation for studies.

    Astitva P.

  • Yes we must now develop discipline and be sure to practice healthy habits like drinking water at the first sign of hunger and not buying junk food for the house… instead going to buy it when we really crave it

  • I am so glad I came across your channel. Thanks a lot for such great content. I need to lose 60 pounds. I have been asked to target 10k steps per day which is about 4.5 miles. I don’t sweat much when I am cover 10k steps. However as per you one should sweat a lot during workouts. I am a working mom of two. I can spare just one hour each day for workout. I do sweat a lot when I do home workouts like beachbody. Do you suggest I stop 10k target and focus on beachbody workouts? Please help out in easing the confusion.

  • LMAO “Why its so much easier to lose weight” BOY. Like what losing weight just stop eating and move. Gaining weight eat more buy more food exercise more… honestly losing weight DONT EAT like what?

  • Thank you. I have battled with my weight & sugar addiction all my life without understanding why. I have always felt a failure for not having the self discipline to lose weight and keep it off. Now I realise why it’s so difficult.

  • @zxcts it still looks like a man i have nothign against over weights like urself but i do have thing against losers trolling me than trying to make it look like i am the paranoid 1 when ur stalking me going to other vids i commented on and making a ass out of urself

  • @rfrantzt White people are the smartest, most inventive people on the planet. We really did evolve above the black race. Look at the state Africa is in yet it is the oldest continent. Whites as a whole are just smarter than blacks and our skin looks better.

  • I am confused regarding your statement that variety makes one more hungry. In my experience, finicky eaters who only eat certain foods and textures all the time, need more and more of that food to satisfy them. This often results in finicky eaters being overweight. You did say that too much variety at a given moment is not good, and that variety has to be spread out throughout the day or week. Is finicky eating then just a result of an out-of-control eater trying to control their environment?

  • The argument about our primitive mind makes sense. But there are people who either never struggle with their weight, or are indifferent to sweets and sugar.

  • this is an excellent video, thank you.

I’ve been trying to cut and tbh if I’m being honest I’ve been trying to lose fat for about 5 years so I think I need to eat more and try increase my calories. I lost around 5 stone I’m now 128 pounds and can’t lose a pound I originally ate around 1500-2000 calories but now I can’t eat more than 1200, if i do i gain weight it’s awful. I think my metabolism is screwed, how many calories would you add initially? I’m 5 foot 2 and lift heavy 4 times a week. don’t want to gain too much fat xx

  • Another useful video mam in your cool voice & beautiful gesture.I love all your dressing sense, appearance, wisdom way of coomunication & last not but least your huminitu to give some thing to the world because you are Enough.I want to become like you.But it is.Impossible as you are phenomenal loveable, honest human being.May God bless you.

  • I really wish my doctor would watch this. She acted like I was asking for an illicit drug when I brought up phentermine. She said I’d just regain the weight—that was the end of the talk. But couldn’t that logic be true for all diets? But anyway, now that I’ve vented, thank you for the information!

  • We live in a society that is set up for failure in so many ways. We are bombarded with media influence, advertising, so much so that it causes people to trip up again and again. One big obstacle in the road is the issue of societal weight gain in the USA and the UK. Fast food advertising bombarding our subconscious minds is a bit contributing factor as to why we eat so negatively. Often, we have already made the decision to eat fast food without consciously realising we have. The key is to not to be so hard on yourself, as it’s not your fault the way society is set up. There are other factors but I feel this is the big issue. Take responsibility and try to reduce the amount of exposure you have to advertising and make conscious, healthy choices for yourself. Thanks for what you do. I hope one day to help as many people with my YouTube channel ✌

  • I wish you were my personal trainer!!Everytime i go to the gym, you are my motivation to keep going after watching your weight loss journey video! Thanks. Keep making more videos. Youre the only fitness person i watch on youtube! (:

  • 0:20 0:31 hit me so hard because I think to myself if I drink green tea and walk a lot( as I normally do” then I’m going to lose weight which I can but those methods are a sign of brainwash thank you so much for wakening me!

  • I have a question, have you wondered about this plan called the Fat Blast Blueprint? (look for it on google). My mate says it helps people lose weight faster.

  • Thank you for the precious information! I have trying to lose weight for a long time now! But having success! Check my health related videos in my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChQNLipYYAV4C2q82u9dXmA/

  • Marisa thank you for sharing your thoughts, your knowledge and your experience! I am amazed by the way you explain everything in each and every video!

  • Great video! You’re right, there’s too many bogus programs out there promising unrealistic results in so little time and the difficulty of losing weight is often undermined. My advice would be to create a personalized step-by-step plan that will reduce your appetite, making you lose weight quickly without hunger and improve you metabolic health at the same time.

Be mindful of what you eat when dieting.

    1. Start by cutting back on your carbs so that your hunger levels will reduce and you’ll end up eating much fewer calories. This will also diminish bloating and unnecessary water weight, not to mention you’ll look and feel a lot healthier.

    2. Replacing carbs with delicious fat-burning foods will help eliminate body fat and make dieting a lot easier because your sugar cravings will weaken and you’ll feel energized from fueling the body with the right foods.

    3. Having a balanced diet is key losing weight because it means disciplined eating and ensuring that you diet includes the right amounts of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and fats you need to live a healthy lifestyle.

Look at the concept of dieting as a journey to building your confidence because with that you become mindful of your food intake and fully aware of the amazing results of dieting correctly.

  • Im go to the gym really often with my father, my genetics makes it easier to gain muscle, i have large muscles but i eat clean bit my fat on my abdominal area wont budge, my only fat stores there and im not gaining for nor losing it

  • I’ve shared this to my friend. She’s so hard on herself. She’s going on holiday and she’s not going to wear nice summer clothes because she doesn’t want people talking about her. I told her that she’s never going to see these people ever again, we just watched two, young, fit girls park in a disabled space and even that wasn’t proof enough of how self absorbed most people are. Then she said but I do it, I’ll say look at the sight of them and I asked her, do you think they care about your opinion? Probably not. She is a big woman and has mobility issues, so I’m hoping that she will listen to this and take it in. You’ve helped me so much, I’ve got still a bit to go but my state of mind is better now than it has been in the past four years since my dog passed away. Thank you Marisa for helping so many people, you’re amazing and thanks to you, so am I, much love

  • Quit sugars…or check your hormones even at a young age especially if on birth control….could have hormone problems being out of whack!! But please don’t starve yourselves!!! Not saying that’s what’s being said but keep trying!!!

  • Yeah, she makes good points in the video. Even if we live in a age of abundance what about all that other junk that is added to our meats and other stuff. Hormones steroids and all the great lengths we go through to preserve the food longer? Add that to a slowing metabolism. While I was trying to keep in shape, I could barely eat nothing. It didn’t even matter if it was tofu fruits and vegetables and no red meat. Organic food is too expensive in new york city.

  • @frantz no way in hell i will take you seriously since you are so fucking disgustingly prejudice against fat people u need to go get a life and stop judging people you dumb piece of shit if you did go to school for that you fucking need to go back cuase you haven’t learned shit

  • Losing fat is easy. It just takes time, patience, and commitment. Maintaining that weight and/or gaining muscle mass is far more difficult!

  • im 26 and have succesffuly been loosing weight, i think for myself it has everything to do with will power and desire. However I don’t know if it is the same for older people maybe their bodies react differently and so it isn’t to do with willpower for them as she says…
edit: and keeping count of your calories

  • Our weight loss group asks if it possible for you to do a VIDEO covering AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES and medical weight loss options. • GREAT VIDEO! Thyroid problems can literary ruin everything in your body so it’s crucial. I have been on thyroid medication for 9 years now and I remember back than I easily gained over 15 pounds just because my thoroid was completely messed up.

  • Hi there, have you considered BellyFatTack” yet? Simply copy-paste BellyFATtack.com to your browser to head over to their web address… There you can get a good free video presentation by a longtime certified health practitioner teaching on the right way to eliminate fat. • Hello Dr.
I would love to hear your opinions on reactive hypoglycemia, anxiety and weightloss. Your videos are impressive and siper helpful!

  • Thanks for the information. How much do you think obesity is a mental problem? Dr. Rubin, MD in his book Forever Thin said that every obese person he treated had a deep rooted emotional problem…. Thanks Again

  • its not easy to gain weight for lowgainers don’t believe that its easy for skinny people to gain weight you have to eat more than you’re body wants to and that can be harder than just eating nothing. i mean they don’t even have to prepare food ore somethingfat people are just lazy haha

  • @whitestar111
I mock you because the words you are writing make no logical sense whatsoever. You open yourself to criticism when you say dumbass things and try to pass them off as coherent and knowledgeable.

  • Good advice I will combine with this diet that I follow: weightlossin3weeks. com (Google it) I lost about 10 pounds in 3 weeks. ‍♀

  • Well I’ve taken down my diet / food charts. That makes sense. I have a feeling all that diet stuff may have held me back. The baby part made me cry because I realise the truth. I don’t want to eat like a baby. I want to grow up now. Thank you Marisa x

  • These are great tips. Reducing sugar has helped me decrease the cravings. I have found eating berries filled with fiber and antioxidants is a healthier choice than candy.

  • We don’t like to exercise cos -a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force Newton’s first law / Law of Inertia…

  • Hello all,

  • @whitestar111
I dont think you should be talking about death bed there fatty. Youll be dead long b4 i see my grave.

Alone? Im not alone. I have plenty of people in my social circle. You on the other hand is another case altogether. Just because you have the weight of 10+ people, doesnt mean you can count them as 9 other “friends”.

  • Dear Marisa, i have met people who eat a tonne of food but won’t gain any extra weight, and some people like me, i eat a bit extra and gain bulk weight. How to tackle this problem?

  • Intermittent Fasting is what she needs. Dr. Chung he explains the calorie in calorie out deficit & it is a load of garbage the industry has shown us. Tell her to turn to Dr. Chung & Dr. Berg they explain this very well.

  • Personally, I don’t believe cookies, cakes, deserts or any of those sweetener delicacies make you fat. I believe it’s the meat that does the work. I recently work two weeks at KFC, eating nothing but chicken there. Before I knew, my friend called me chubby.

Now I’m going on a diet.

  • to have a little extra weight may be a good thing!but to be obese is not and should not be excused by sitting on the lounge feeding your face with anything you can then whining about it.then getting up to get something else to eat.to my kids i tell them if they are hungry have something to eat, this means fruit or veg not cake and lollies..FAT ARSE WINGING DOESN’T MAKE UP EXERCISE,GETTING AWAY FROM THE FRIDGE AND GOING FOR A WALK MIGHT HELP!!! these people make me sick!! Jenny Craig anyone?

  • Love the way you talk… because it’s not condescending at all and it feels like you honestly care about all the people that ask for info, it shows that you’re not doing it just to feed your ego, so congrats for that, it’s nice to listen to somebody that’s being genuinely kind.

  • Ayooo, I’m 5’10 and I maintain at 2600-2700 calories. BOMB DOT COM LOVE MY LIFE. But I wasn’t always this way! I used to have the worst metabolism ever, but lifting changed everything for me!!!

  • Do you have any tips to stop snacking. It’s such a habit it for me and I feel genuinely hungry when I crave a snack even though I’m not actually hungry. Snacking is the reason I’m gaining weight and I have to stop. I drink water to prevent myself but it just doesn’t work

  • Marisa, your way of explaining a diverse number of topics help us in different ways. Besides, I am happy to share your knowledge with my friends. And my hope is that it will multiply helping others. This message comes from Peru, South America. Thanks a lot.

  • I’ve recently started researching more because I am somewhat starting eating disorder recovery, and apparently the officially recommended calorie intake of 2000 kcal a day is actually extremely off. Reason being, this number is literally the result of people reports, meaning, it is based on people’s self-reported calorie intake. Now people typically undercalculate by around 1/4 to 1/3, which is something I can confirm easily > firstly from my own journey of realizing how much calories there actually are in certain foods, plus just watching others attempting calorie tracking and like internally laughing at how much they undercalculate.
    Lol.

  • the calorie deficit thing still makes me pretty confused… because id like to be on a deficit of at least 200 calories, and my bmr is around 1500… so that means id have to get down to 1300 calories/day, but everyone says thats too low. great video, by the way!

  • Well It’s easy for everyone just try my workout a 25 mile run, another 30 mins run, then onto the workout 30 push ups, then throwing punches at a boxing bag for 45 mins

  • @kwhuce4y with ur logic ur making no sence if low gainers have trouble eating more because of the size of them it would be the same for heavy people their size would mean they need more it goes both ways

  • @rfrantzt you know more than me how is that u don’t know me so you knowing more than me is quite funny i deal with people all the time i learn from experience so tell me how are YOU better than me

  • Go Vegan or Vegetarian, drink more water (5 to 8 glasses a day), eat 3 to 6 times a day with smaller portions, eat more protein, more fruits and veggies, soy products, don’t eat before you fall asleep since fat will be stored and not burned.
Go to the gym and work out, or work out at home for 45 minutes to an hour.
Use online calculators to find out how many calories a person of your gender, height, weight, and age should eat.
Subtract about 300 to 500 from that.
    Count calories you eat
    Boom

  • Appreciate your work Marisa!
So much things changed in the very best way in my life since I got to know your channel!
Actually you talk about a ‘paleo-style’ eating

  • Waow is great to see a doctor helping out. I have loss 120.0lbs since the last summer and still i need to lose 30pounds more and they are the most difficult 30pounds ever!!!

  • My colleague didn’t accept himself for who he was and did whatever he could to lose weight, but didn’t lose ANY of the weight he was putting on, but now he is overweight he believes people might think he is un attractive and in that way he doesn’t have to deal with love again. But now he accepted himself, he loses weight!! ❤️

  • You’re so sweet in all your videos! And I think it’s true that people don’t always realize it can be a health issue if you know you are truly trying and not seeing anything. I love watching your videos
