  • These comment are ridiculous I’m on fitness pal who have advised me to have 1500 calories a day to lose weight. I was easily eating 3000 before without even realising it. I’m losing a steady 1-2lbs a week which is healthy and sustainable weight loss.

  • I think what people often get confused is that calorie deficit is different for everyone, because your body naturally burns off a certain amount of calories this can be different for each person. 1500 calories is based off the average person, but the problem is that the average person doesn’t really exist an average is just a rough estimate it’s not accurate. What i’ve learned is that my body naturally can burn off about 800-1000 calories without working out, therefor that is daily calorie intake and resting metabolic rate. If I was to go into calorie deficit i’d have to eat less that 800 calories to lose the weight. Something important to consider is that calories do not equal quantity, if you’re eating a larger quantity of food with lower calories you will still gain weight despite being in calorie deficit. That’s why calories are literally useless and I stopped counting calories a long time ago, start looking at the quantity of food you’re consuming instead. Less food equals less weight gain, that is common sense but not many people actually do this instead they just go based off calories. Food with higher calories means you need to eat less food in order to get your daily calorie intake, so one secret i’ve had to losing weight is actually by eating food with higher calories you’re consuming less quantity of food. If you eat lower calorie foods you’d need to consume a larger quantity

  • im also on a 1000 cal deficit but on every 3rd day or after 48 hours i carb up with around 200-300g.

  • I tend to eat the same way you do but I am trying to be more healthy in my choices. I am a lot older than you are so I have to watch it if I want to live to a ripe-ish old age, haha. Anyway, I just have 17 pounds more to go after losing 35 pounds counting calories. Thank you for stating all you ate. I would say to try to cut down on sugary treats but I’m telling this to myself. too! Anyway, congrats on your loss!

  • It has been proven by research that a diet of about 1500 calories will cause weight loss for up to a year, losing about 1-2 lbs a week (depending on your weight). A reduction of at least 5% of total body weight has proven to improve BP and lower the risk of CVD. A calorie deficit diet is good to lose weight but for those that believe it is too extreme, there are diets for everyones specific needs; this is a diet that she is comfortable with but that doesnt mean you have to follow it:)

  • Yeah, faster dieting is better because as long as it’s not for way too long for 4-5 months let’s say, it doesn’t or barely results in more muscle or strength loss and you get back to bulking way faster. And yeah midsection fat is a pain because I really don’t think that midsection fat even budges for most people until sub 12% body fat and isn’t completely gone until like 9%, just an obseravtion. You’re face is looking way slimmer too man, keep working hard and I like your more harcore diet.

  • Dude!! I know what you mean about the weekend. You sit around and are prone to eat!! And then your wife wants to get dinner and you end up eating a pizza or something. I’m doing about 1700 calories a day. I do 45 minutes cardio a day, lift weights 5 days a week. I am 5’8 and 154lbs now. Abs showing nicely when I flex but I need more definition. Did a test and I am a little under 11 percent body fat. How tall are you? How did the 1500 calories a day work for you?
