  • I got in some real big trouble one day and I was forced to stay home for a few monthsI watched this boxing anime called hajime no ippo and I wanted to box after I watched a few episodes. So I learned some workouts and drills. I wasn’t satisfied with how I looked so I looked up this diet and did it will vigorously exercising for 6 hours a day. I lost 14 pounds after 4 days of this. But I was grey and couldn’t even handle the smell of other foods or I’d be starvingly sick. I kept pushing myself until about 4 weeks in I was 20 pounds lighter and obsessed with the scale. I looked like a skeleton, please don’t do this diet for longer than the 3 days, it’s horrible for you.

  • Where I would struggle is (1) There’s no way I could drink a beverage without at least a sweetener. I might as well drink motor oil! (2) I’m not sure if wholemeal bread which I use is deemed the same but either way to me it would be too dry without real butter or at least olive spread on it. I often have peanut butter on toast as part of breakfast albeit with butter as it tastes so much nicer even underneath the other. I go through a lot of eggs too.

  • I did this diet back when I was first starting my weight loss journey. I was at 240 when I did it and lost 13 pounds. However it was mostly water weight and some of it came back. But the diet was helpful as it make me eat less when the diet ended. My portions were smaller which helped start my weight loss. I’m not at 185 and still dropping

  • Idk about the 3 days, but I remember my husband being put on a military diet before the marines to match his weight mark. It wasn’t a 3 days period tho, it was a month or so. He lost sooo much weight. His recruiter said he had to drop 130lbs about before leaving for PI

  • Lol this is funny… I was in the military these meals sound like MRE’s in essence lol..but in basic training the drill sgt’s will see u eat for two mins and tell u stop eating and throw away ya food so what ever u had in ya mouth that’s all the food u needed for breakfast lunch and dinner chow. They said its fuel and that’s all u needed so the point of that was super calorie cutting and high intensity exercises n ya body would starve and burn that food up fast kick starting metabolism u never had or had b4 n u see tremendous weight loss so it’s a mind and body self development u got to prepare yaself for so diligence in up keeping this is key.

  • I’m going to try this, I don’t watch what I eat at all. I say I won’t drink soda again but then I end up drinking it again. I don’t have breakfast I wake up at 4/5pm and go to sleep at 6am and eat around 11pm and maybe before 5pm sometimes and then again at 11pm like I said. And then I snack all night till I go to sleep at 6am it’s horrible and it’s all unhealthy food it’s either fast food/oily food/ cookies/bread/ icecream etc…. I weight 145 pounds I really want to loose all my belly fat I guess it’s how bad you want it to get their and how hard you are willing to work for it.   • i tried this diet before and lost 34lbs with supplements i had a fall and the weight came back double because i had to go on steroids but the diet do work still working to take the weight off now.

  • I tried it I was SUPER CURIOS seeing how it was claimed that military doctors put this together. Really I didn’t learn this in boot camp. I would think that if it were true that they would at least make it military issued knowledge. Curiosity got the better of me and I tried it and the most you lose… well the most I lost was 7 pounds, BUT you are STARVING. I didn’t binge, but it’s not worth it. I agree I’m Navy and you do not eat this way. You need so much food just to get you through the day. If I ate what the diet suggested and went to work I would fall out and there would be a MEDICAL EMERGENCY.

  • So I have read all of the comments and I am in the Military. Let me tell you, I have seen some individuals that I currently serve with who have done the Military Diet or a variation of it (some more extreme some less) in order to meet their specific body weight and body fat composition goals outlined in Army Regulation 600-9. Not only do they put their bodies through this “Crash” diet in order to make the weight but then soon after they take a fairly rigorous Army Physical Fitness Test. It’s really sad to see what these Soldiers are doing to themselves.

  • 900 kalories a day. That makes a deficit of around 1500 kalories per day or 4500 per 3 days. Thats a around 1.5 lbs weightloss. 7k kalories per pound estimated

  • For wrestlers or athletes that are required to be on a specific weight class I don’t suggest the Military Diet. It’ll literally ruin your performance.

  • I did this back in the 90’s when I was thin and would gain 5-10 pounds and would lose it with this. I just did it and lost 4, but I have been doing 1200-1500 calories a day any way so I didn’t expect a huge loss. I am planning on doing it again on Sunday. It isn’t terrible

  • If you want to do this continuously, then do the diet for 3 days, and then take a day or two to rest then you can start again. This diet is actually very helpful to lose weight but it doesnt contain many calories and you need a lot of calories to be able to get through the day. So make sure to take a break after the 3 days.

    Yes, if you need to shave a couple of pounds of fast for something, then by all means do it for a couple of days.
    It’s not a long-term diet though, it isn’t healthy and you aren’t getting the proper nutrients you need to be healthy.
    Just eat less and what you do eat make sure it’s healthy, no junk.

  • I don’t see how this could possibly work. 10 pounds requires a deficit of 35,000 calories. This diet averages 1200 calories per day. Plus you aren’t even shedding water weight. You are still eating carbs.

  • Found this stupid diet in a magazine 20+ years ago. Back then, it was just called ‘The 3 day diet.’ I actually tried. Lost a few pounds, but was STARVING! It was awful!

    As a veteran, I can tell you that it has NOTHING to do with the military!! The new name is just a gimmick to draw attention to it.

  • Anytime I hit a plateau I always do the military diet Then go back to my regular diet after the three days (1400 calories) and I never gain the weight back. Lost 40 pounds already

  • It’s just time! 4 pounds in a week may seem little to some but if you put that into a month that’s 16 pounds which is like 10kg!! In three months with sticking to this you could be reaching the body you desire but we careful. This shouldn’t be followed day in and day out as you will start to wear once constantly on a calorie deficit so opt for doing the Military Diet Two weeks every month

  • For the most part he is spot on. Everyones body responds differently but the majority of people could eat 980 calories of mcdonalds spaced out over 3 meals and lose about the same amount of weight(maybe a lil less)
    that would not be healthy! People love to overcomplicate things when it comes to weight loss. He points out some of that nonsense in this video. I do think that he should mention coffee has been shown to speed up metabolism and can curb your appetite. Most people become immune to the effects but if a non coffee drinker follows this diet they should notice their appetite is curbed just based on introducing caffeine. Ive put a few clients on a very similar diet tues-thurs-sat with successful results. Mon wed and friday (training days) I have them eat a relatively high protein and carb diet, and have them eat whatever they want sunday.

  • Tips for picky people:
    Day.1
    Breakfast: 1 apple in slices whole wheat or sourbread with ham and cucumber on drink: water or cucumber water.
    Lunch: an carrot ( or nothing )
    Dinner: tuna salad or just a plain salad ( no sauce, salad, cucumber, tomato, corn and paprika.

    Day.2
    Breakfast: an half apple and a banana cut up. ( put the rest of the banana and apple in a freezer )
    Lunch: baby carrots or half a cup of peas:)
    Dinner: salad and ham sandwich

    Day.3
    Breakfast: take the frozen fruits from yesterday and make a smoothie with ice cubes and some cucumber water.
    Lunch: carrots
    Dinner: avocado salad

    I did this for 1 week and lost 16,4 lbs!

  • Praise the Lord!!! For your tenacity in trying this diet with your substitutions. The thing is the military diet was strictly for the military. They had physical fitness (PT) testings that they had to pass in order to stay in the military.So therefore this diet came out for borderline PT testers/others. So with the substitutions many didn’t use substitutions they did exactly what the doctor had ordered them to do and believe me it works, when you stick to the plan that they prescribed. That’s basically what the military diet was, was for the military. People got ahold of it and started doing it on their own but it’s basically for those who were in the military. For healthier soul “Fast,” but using the Daniel Fast. When you fast for the Lord you lose the weight and your growing (praying for everyone else first, their needs, and then teach me how to feed my temple with the fruits and the berries of the land so I can continually grow “Spiritually” in Him.

  • I live in a hispanic household I tried the #1 breakfast I used Jelly instead since my mom only had expired peanut butter��. Then I told her if she can make me coffee with water with no sugar then she made it and told me “like this or more sugar” (in spanish) i was like I said no sugar..

  • Back in the 90s when I was active duty the meals in training were high in calories because of the energy burned to get the body to the level needed. (I would think it’s still like that). After training I didn’t eat that many calories to maintain my body weight due to my activity level decreasing at my permanent party location. I had seen people keep eating that level of high calories afterwards and how large they got was awful. It was sad! But I did comment on a video about this topic and how the military does not feed its soldiers like that. Lol! If they did starve them then how would they be able to have such big muscles? ��. They wouldn’t! Lol! It makes no sense!

  • Yes, I too am guilty of jumping from weight loss plan to others as well, I think that I must have tried every single weight-loss system that was available, but eventually not one of them made it easier for me to shed and maintain the weight off. I ended up trying for the very last time using the Custokebon Secrets because my cooworker who told me extraordinary things about it and so far to date I’ve effectively dropped 18 pounds within 3 weeks!

  • cardio and limit ur calories to 800 a day… lift weight so as not to lose too much muscle mass.. yes u will feel hunger but after a while ur body adapts then once u get to ur desired weight try to incorporate a cheat day….

  • Another way to lose weight it’s a little slow but you lose weight at a decent speed. What you want to do is eat foods that are low carb I do t recommend anything above 12 grams of carbs depending on the serving size if the serving size is big I recommend you eat 1/3 of the serving size but if the serving size is low and a high amount of carbs don’t eat it
