And it should be no surprise that 0-calorie flavored sparkling water is an extremely popular choice, whether your goal is to lose weight or simply maintain. “Dieters are looking for ways to cut calories to promote weight loss,” explains Amy Goodson, a registered dietitian and nutrition consultant. “However, many dieters don’t want to give up their favorite taste and. Sparkling water is actually more filling than regular water due to the carbonation. This is particularly beneficial if you are trying to use sparkling water as an appetite suppressant and/or to cut down the size of your meals. Helps with Constipation.

Constipation can actually impede the success of weight loss for many people. About Flavored Sparkling Water with No Calories. Your body needs up to 13 cups of fluids a day, so you can make drinking water a little more effervescent by incorporating a no-calorie flavored sparkling variety.

Carbonated water exists naturally, but it can also be created by dissolving carbon dioxide in still water. For my patients who don’t like water, I recommend simply adding some fresh fruit to enhance its flavor-lemon, lime, cucumber, or orange slices, or chunks of watermelon are all great-you can also try one of these fruit infused water recipes. I also recommend sparkling water or seltzer with no sodium, either plain or with fresh fruit or a splash. If you’re looking to quit your soda habit, sparkling water seems like a natural fit.

In fact, the drink aisle at your local grocery store probably has just as many sparkling water options as soda. For weight loss it isn’t going to have a great effect on you. The same for broth. I think if it did raise your insulin it wouldn’t be enough to stop the continuation. Say you fasted for 6 hours had a sparkling water, continued fasting for another 10.

  • I understand you saying that you are making a healthier switch, but those smart sweets have almost 30g of fiber in one bag! Also halo top has more ingredients than normal ice cream. Yes these options have fewer calories, but that doesn’t always mean “better” or “healthier”. I suppose it is all relative to ones goals! These are great for those trying to lose weight. But those just trying to live a healthier lifestyle I think eating any and all foods they want in recommended portions are great options too!

  • Artificial sweeteners don’t increase insulin. The sugar companies started that rumour, to stop people from using artificial sweeteners so the sugar companies can sell more sugar. It started in the late 1980’s when the Coca Cola Company brought out Diet Coke and the sugar companies didn’t like that, they want everyone to drink normal Coke with sugar. And the rumour has spread for so long that now everyone thinks that artificial sweeteners increase insulin, even professional nutritionists think it does, I used to think it does as well but I’ve done a lot of research on sugar and you can lose weight from using artificial sweeteners. So there’s nothing wrong with using artificial sweeteners while you’re fasting. ��✌️

  • I’ve found that infusing your water with fruit has helped me consume more during the day. I’ve also been mixing Crystal Light with Topo Chico:)

  • In defense of Arizona its (or at least the kind i get) its real brew tea and most likely has the benefits you mentioned. The only “chemicals” in mine are citric acid which is commonly found in lemons and as boric acid (vitamin c). The only bad things are the sugar content and fructose corn but it is sweetened tea so thats a given its fine in moderation and is way healthier then sodas.

  • I’m scheduled to have gastric sleeve in October and in really worried about getting dehydrated. I found a company online called “banana bag”. They make like an anti-dehydration powder to mix in with water. I drink lots of water now, going to start the gallon a day. I was mainly just concerned about the 1st month post op. What do you think?

  • As someone who makes their own carbonated water with tap water and lite salt, it’s weird to hear you talk about carbonated water and acids as if that’s normal to plain carbonated water. Carbonated water implies water and co2, that’s it. There’s no acids, pH should be neutral.

  • Seltzer is filtered tap water that is carbonated. Tap water has lots of minerals that vary by location and source, so I disagree. Seltzer has minerals. Club soda has added salt (sodium chloride) for taste as an alcoholic drink mixer that it was originally made for.

  • i have an unrecognised type of OCD which makes me walk till i all but can’t anymore and hobble home. being outside and moving reduces my life-long and professionally ignored permanent headache/dizziness.
    so i gained a habitual compulsion to get out and go at every opportunity which is causing severe muscle and joint issues due to excessive wear and tear, exacerbating my congenital and premature arthritis symptoms and is also filling my lungs with traffic dirt (leading to copd like i was smoking 80 a day for thirty years). Being on the move outside on foot or bicycle was once my greatest pleasure, and my only actual relief from the headaches, but now it’s a torture i can’t stop doing to myself, because i can’t cope with the headspins when i’m stationary for even a couple of hours. now i’m on welfare i’m going out every two-three hours for at least one hour and it’s causing me severe endless pain in my leg muscles, joints and foot arches, yet still relieving the headache while i’m moving

What’s your opinion in drinking bullet coffee to break your fast? Studies have shown that drinking bullet coffee while it breaks your fast, it doesn’t raise your insulin. What’s your take on this?   • Salting your drinking water for more hydration. WHAT THE HELL?! This is why I don’t take meathead trainers seriously and listen to nutritionists (the master degree or higher one) your body already has trace minerals in the blood or liver if you eat properly. The most hydrating thing would be distilled water but that actually pulls said minerals from you and injecting it makes your red blood cells go kaboom (osmotic hemolysis), so don’t do that either.

  • All I drink is 2 tablespoons of ACV w/ water and love it. But bad for the teeth enamel. My dentist said when drinking it add more water to dilute is best and to drink it fast, then rinse. Never allow the ACV sit on the teeth.

  • Regular pasta is healthy, no need to swap for gluten free options and pay a lot more if you don’t have any intolerance:) Gluten is a protein found in wheat

  • Carbonated water or soda is actually worse than non carbonated.
    If you regularly take carbonated water then your liver surely get affected and fat digestion will be slow.
    Don’t ignore it contains CO2, and CO2 is not good in any way.

  • Dr. Berg doesn’t discuss the different types of carbonation. One comes in liquid form, and is typically put in line with syrup dispensers for soda, like Coca Cola, also carbonating beer. The other form, like you find in S. Pellegrino, is pure carbon dioxide, imagine taking a chip of dry ice, which goes directly from a solid to a gas, thus dry, and putting it in a bottle you want to carbonate. Carbonic acid is much more stable. Mineral water carbonated with carbon dioxide is much less srable. (But, I have long been dubious of the health fulness of carbonic acid, and I just prefer the carbon dioxide carbonization).i would direct this to Dr. Berg, but he never replies, I am not sure he reads comments, so I addressed him in 3rd person.

  • This is like a sign from god. At the beginning of qurantine i got into the mentality of substituting which i did and eating less. I lost 16 pounds from eating healthy and working out at home. i’ve been at a plateau recently im not gaining or losing but i’ve also caved in on the occasional hershey kiss. but recently my mentality has been being changed kind of to the same way it was at the beginning of qurantine.   • Hey i just wanna tell every small youtuber who is reading the comments that you should never give up on youtube no matter how few views or subs you get. Giving up will be the biggest mistake you’ll ever make. I know it’s frustrating to work so hard on a video only to get a few views and barely any comments but trust me, you will get there. I used to have only one person commenting on my videos and I almost gave up but I slowly started gaining more subs and views and now that I look back, I’m so glad i did not give up, and i hope you dont too. Im spreading the word to prevent people from giving up because I believe in all of you. We small youtubers need to stick together and support each other, lift each other up and encourage each other, especially during times like this. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the world and i figured that motivating people through youtube comments is a good way to voice out my thoughts and help people out so i really hope i can spread this message to many people and make a difference. ❤️

  • Weird how bottled carbonated water is hard to find in the US, at least in supermarkets. Either people drink uncarbonated water or sugary sodas I found.

  • Can you make a video on lipedema? I’m a male with lipedema ( rare ), I got it from from my Mom’s side. I went years not knowing what was causing it or what I can take to fix it. Most doctors had no idea what the problem was till I was FINALLY referred to a specialist that specializes in lipedema & lymphedema ( different but similar ). In short, I was told to cut red meat, dairy ( low fat diet ) & now my legs rarely swell, fastings also helps. Maybe you can help others with your information & channel. Thank you.

    I am really considering intermittent fasting. I am 34 years old 6’2” and around 230lbs. I am in pretty decent shape, considering I’m active duty Army and I workout at least five days a week. However, a recent blood draw had my LDL at 189, which is really high. Any tips would be great! I use your protein and have done the shortcut to whet program on two separate occasions with great results.


  • The V8 one is such a stretch lol 95 mg of sodium is nothing…that’s less than a 20th of your recommended intake. V8 is mad good for you, I add it to my sauce just to make it healthier

  • The muscle weighs more than fat debunk is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a while. So because a pound of one thing is the same as a pound of another then neither of those things are heavier than the other. Here’s the problem. By that logic you can’t say anything is heavier than anything else. Gold isnt heavier than helium because a pound of each both weigh the same. Thing is we’re not talking about purely weight were talking about volume. A square inch of muscle weighs more than a square inch of fat. Therefore if you burn fat but gain muscle you may see your weight stay the same or increase even though your physically getting smaller.

  • Don’t get your hair chemically processed while you’re pregnant! Not because of harm to the baby but because babies high jack your hormones and poop on your chemical balance especially if you have preexisting conditions. The same color you’ve used dozens of times will somehow turn out shitty (like super brassy or gray tones) or your hair gets really dry and breaks off. Just save yourself some heartache and wait, especially if you are paying someone else to do it for you. ����‍♀️

  • Stretch marks are genetic. If your Mom had em, you will probably get them. Also you can’t tell the gender of the baby by how you look, how you are carrying and heart rate. I carried all my babies high, I have two boys and one girl. I looked a hot mess pregnant. Regardless of girl or boy. I hated all the advice I got from people about my pregnancies.

  • I’ve been watching your vids for a while now and I really, really appreciate this one. I had VSG on March 5th and I’ve lost over 50lbs. I started at 417 last year and lost 75lbs before surgery. I’m having a stall my first big one and I’ve been so frustrated. My water intake hasn’t been the best since surgery, but I’m going to start upping my water. Can’t stand crystal light anymore!   • Carbonated water has a few benefits I have experienced: 1) It makes consumption of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice a lot more palatable. 2) Drinking it rapidly when it is very cold does not cause the same “brain freeze” that regular water does. 3) It “tastes” good! 4) The bottles it comes in are stronger than those for regular water, (particularly when the carbonated water is VERY fizzy, like “Buxton” in the UK), so the bottles are easy to reuse several times over.

And the bit about mental health workers pushing medication has some basis; my daughter went to two specialists and they both pushed medication within the first few weeks.   • The phosphorous contained in any carbonated drink raises the phosphorous levels in your body, which in turn, automatically begins a process of returning it to normal levels (in your body) but in order to do that it needs calcium, so unless you take calcium supplements every time you have a carbonated drink, your body extracts the calcium from itself: your bones. Specifically your cheek and pelvic bones. So i’m gonna stick to non-carbonated water cause it definitely is safer.
