  • No salt? Salt is 0 calorie though? I’d understand bloating if you eat high amounts of sodium, but it should be fine if you add salt. Also, keep in mind that this helps you lose weight because it’s filling and low calorie which makes you eat less calories than you burn, not because of some magic mix of ingredients like those “magic weight loss drinks”.

  • I have started this diet today and I’m looking forward to the results. I used my Vitamix to purée the soup and for someone like me, who dislikes celery, the soup is surprisingly very tasty and the thickness of the purée fills me.   • Starting weight (day before I started the diet) was 134.6 and on my last day I was 129.8. No exercise, and followed the diet as much as I could. On days you can eat veggies, I did use Asian sauces like fish sauce, soy sauce, cooking wine, etc. since it didn’t specify. Your toilet may or may not end up resembling the soup. I was super starving the first day and eventually your stomach kind of gets used to not eating as much. But definitely had insane cravings!

  • Is it normal to experience lower abdominal pain. I had one bowl last night and started feeling lower abdominal pain…quickly realizing I can’t go anywhere today. I’m also getting cold sweat.   • I found this today just when I was about to go and pick up items for the cabbage soup diet. I decided to try this one because it claims that you can lose up to 17 pounds in 7 days! I am super excited…I can’t wait to see how this works! Followed the soup recipe exactly except I could not find any dried vegetable stock so I used a little liquid vegetable stock instead. It taste GREAT!! Will keep you posted!
    Update: I am losing slowly which is good however I was hoping to be at least 4 lbs down by now. When i make my next batch of soup I will omit the carrots for a lower G.I. Day 4, I decided to incorporate a weight lifting routine along with my daily cardio to help burn fat. Found the vegetable stock powder on Amazon!
    Update: After 7 days I lost a total of 9 pounds! IT WORKED FOR ME!! Lifting weights helped increase my weight lost.

    I have done this in the past around five yrs ago, when I was 52 yrs old. I hit this diet every other week until I Lost a total of 30. I did get bored with it and regained it, but years later lol

  • Did this and accidentally caused a massive gas leak while on and walking back and forth from the John. The fire department and gas company had to cordon off the area in fear of an explosion. Oh the smell! Partially chipped the wallpaper on one side of my bathroom and made my cat go into a coma! I lost 10lbs., my neighbors keep their distance, though.

  • I believe this diet is more for sedentary people, it’s low in calories but full of nutrition. Meaning by eating cabbage soup you’re already in a calorie deficiency. If you workout while eating this soup you’re basically starving you’re body of calories. I wouldn’t be surprised if you feel tired.

  • I’d spend a couple of weeks weaning yourself off of starches and sugars first, and then doing this diet. I think it’d go a lot more smoothly.
    No, there is nothing wrong with good starches and some sugars, but if your normal diet is high in these, and then you suddenly shift into this, your body is going to be screaming at you (as it did).

  • So, I’m starting today, my weight at this point is 97,2 kg. I just made the soup and it tastes absolutely delicious even though I absolutely hate celery and mustard. I bought all the ingredients for the soup and the ones for the other meals it was around 30€ so it’s not that cheap, I would probably have spend more for my usual one or two week food shopping. I will tell you my results every day here in the comments. I’m really excited!

  • tried this a week and ended a week and a half ago. I think those that lost the full amount are people who eat a lot of sodium on a regular basis, and are holding a lot of water weight. I rarely eat salt, it’t just not something I like. but I didn’t have a lot of water weight. However, I did still lose 5 pounds in a week, which is still great, and if you follow the diet, it’s actually pretty healthy. I’ll be doing it again, but i’m only going to do the first 4 days. I really enjoyed how felt after all the fresh fruit and veggies, and I’ll keep day 4 in just becasue it’s cheap lol

  • Good job! I used the shredded cabbage, they sell it packaged and call it “angel hair cabbage.” It’s thinner and not as bad as the bigger pieces. Day 2 here! ���� Must resist temptation. Did you workout everyday?

  • After making this soup for a long time and I’ve made some changes to the recipe that I would like to share with you all.

    Here are some of changes I made:
    1) Instead of using canned tomatoes (which sometimes contains high fructose corn syrup). Buy whole tomatoes and chop them up instead.
    2) Concerned about the MSG/other ingredients in the bullion cubes? Use Beef broth instead and salt it up to your own liking
    3) Use onion powder instead of the onion soup mix. Doing this prevents weird ingredients from going into the soup
    4) Other negative or low foods that I add are kale and carrots
    5) If you like food on the spicy side, add diced jalapenos and/or cayenne pepper.
    6) Finally, add some smoked paprika to give some smokiness to the soup.

    P.S. wear some goggles or chop the onions under the stove with the fan on to prevent tears.

  • I used Accent seasoning, 1/2 pack Lipton onion soup mix for seasoning that’s it, had coffee with sugar free syrup almond milk, no meat in soup, drank dieters tea, green tea daily, used 1 whole container V8,, lost 11 pounds in 7 days, worked out, I did follow the peel a pound diet with it 3 bowls of soup a day, round two starts today

  • But why would anyone want to lose 10-17 pounds a week? I don’t. Not healthy, lose 2 pounds every week and keep doing that till you reach your goal. You will not gain it back.

  • I worked at a hospital in an ICU. By day 3 on the diet, my farts had started bringing people out of their drug-induced comas. One patient opened her eyes and looked at me and said, “well, I can’t top that one”. I sheepishly put my finger to my lips and whispered, “shhh”. The medical team came in and were surprised that she was awake after 3 weeks. She pointed at me and announced, “he’s so nasty!” About that time one of the fiery little old nurses walked in and said “smells like toxic shit in here. I hope the health department doesn’t close us down”. I was transferred to work in the gastroenterology unit the next day. The entire unit seemed to have been on this soup diet. When I arrived I could barely breathe. Luckily, I remembered what to do and put my head down between my knees so I wouldn’t pass out.

    3 Cups Fresh tomatoes
    3 Cups Pasta sauce
    1⁄3 Cup Tomato paste (1 small jar or can)
    5 Green onions
    2 Tbsp. Low-sodium veggie stock
    1 Bunch Celery & (some) tops
    2 Cups Fresh green beans
    2 Red or green bell peppers
    2 Cups Carrots
    1 Tsp. Chili powder
    1 Tsp. Ground cumin
    2 Tsp. Sweet paprika
    1/2 to 1 Tsp. Cayenne pepper
    2 Tsp. Prepared mustard

    1/2 to 2 Tsp. Ground black pepper

  • The only thing this is going to do is clean you out which isn’t a bad thing and the no salt thing is so don’t retain water again not bad in a way but it’s a flash plan soon as you get off the soup the pounds come back

  • I cooked down asparagus, brussel sprouts, carrots and garlic. All I added was olive oil, salt, pepper, and some olive oil butter. It was soooooo good.

  • It’s also very Important to Note that this DIET is GREAT if you’re wanting a jump start into weight loss. For instance, you can do this diet and do some cardio a long with it to get even bigger results, or just to the diet itself and then once you lose the weight, stick to a healthier diet and exercise at least 30 mins to an hour everyday. THAT WAY, the weight doesn’t come back.

  • Just cooking up this soup. Do I still drink my coffee? I couldn’t handle that much cayenne pepper. I had to make another lot without the pepper came mix them. Lol.

  • OMG I made this soup but I needed a bigger pot lol! I put 4 types of bell peppers I even added some chicken for protein and to help me stay full. I will also do this with lemon juice and baking soda. I have yogurt and granola on deck. With gobs of nuts and fruits �� mangoes �� yummy. I could not find the grapes with seeds so no grapes. Strawberries �� and watermelon ��. Eating this soup now and it’s slamming!

  • OMG! This came up in my feed and falls in line with how I am eating these days; modified my healthy eating plans. This is fantastic.

    I actually made my own soup last Saturday with broccoli, cauliflower and chicken breast; also added a can of carrot and peas since I had it ��. Used chicken stock and water to make a large amount of broth. I seasoned with fresh herbs and the usual seasonings. Blended everything and strained it. Soooo deeeelicious and I drink a cup before one or two meals for the day.

  • Just been reading the comments. Make your own adjustments. I don’t like tomato paste so I left it out and used a extra cup of tomato. Haven’t tried it yet, but this is great for fodmap people.

  • This soup is so good, but it did not last seven days. I only lost 2lbs in 5 days. I didn’t lose the weight, but I felt better in my clothes.

  • this stuff is like Chinese food for me, Im hungry in 15min. no cheating means no sugar, no white stuff, no additives to coffee, etc. walk at least a mile per day fast walking is good. I eat once per day and an apple. once you get to your target wt. then it’s hard to keep it there because your brain is telling your body that you are starving. good luck. i can lose a lb every other day.

  • Protein is really good for weight loss, carbs are not. Once the weather cools off, I’m going to make this soup with beef and only eat this soup all day long every day for 7 days, longer if it works and I can handle just eating the soup.

  • You want to love yourself a little more add some jalapenos, ginger, and make it from distilled water. After a week you will get sick if you eat anything processed or unhealthy

    I had chicken, steak and shrimp with the soup on day 3, 4 and 5. Two adult beveages on day 5 so I cheated a little. Its really delicious I am about to make my 3rd batch!!

  • Just loose water weight there if no fat in salt you just dehydrate your body as no salts. Yeah eat a bowl a day for lunch but don’t just eat this for a week you will end up like my sister she did this diet now on thyroid tablets for rest of her life. your body is precious don’t shock it.

  • I loved this soup as a child. My grandmother had a cellar full of it she jarred from her garden. She called it “diet soup”. She could never understand why I loved it so much but I did. I had no idea why she called it diet soup and didnt bother asking. I still love the soup but not the effect it has on me. I dont remember being so farty after eating it when I was younger. Now I have to clear my schedule for a few days before enjoying a kettle. I’ve never used it for weight loss. I just like the taste.

  • I get the soup part, but can you expound a bit on instructions for Day 4 through Day 7 a bit… e.g. Day 4 “eat 8 bananas” in one day, and days 5 and 6, “eat 1 1/2 pounds of meat”??, and Day 7 cook 1 1/3 pounds of brown rice, and eat 1/3 of it at each meal…REALLY??

  • I tried this but didn’t lose even 1 ounce. too many ding dongs and 3 musketeers and ice cream in fridge. and vodka…and cheese and amazing Italian Prosciutto.

  • Weight only 118lbs > Goes on a diet…… It’s a perfectly good weight though… Especially for someone who hits the gym like you’ve mentioned in the video. It’s more likely that you lost some water weight and will gain that back up right away.

  • No miracle here you lose cause the soup is very low calories, if that’s all your eating your not even at 1200 a day calories. Weight lose is simple math, decrease your calorie intake. By limiting what you eat or certain foods… So technically any thing would do this if it’s below calories.

  • I’m on day 2 with the soup and I’m down 5 pounds. I’m trying to speed up the weight loss with adding exercise. I will report final results in 5 days. Soup isn’t so bad. I try to eat it quick and think about the vegetables and Fruits as dessert to help me stay focused. Discipline is key here.
