The Flexitarian Diet is a style of eating that encourages mostly plant-based foods while allowing meat and other animal products in moderation. It’s more flexible than fully vegetarian or vegan. The newest one on the scene is the flexitarian diet, which can be thought of as a?plant-strong? meat eater.

Related 6 Vegan Supplements You Should Consider Developed by Dawn Jackson Blatner, a registered dietitian and author, the flexitarian diet is a new way to structure your diet; one that focuses on vegetables but doesn’t exclude meat altogether. As you probably guessed, the term?flexitarian? is a. This concept became popular after Dawn Jackson Blatner, R.D., published The Flexitarian Diet in 2008 and has become trendy given all the research supporting plant-based eating. Blatner put together the words flexible and vegetarian, and created the mostly (but not entirely) plant-based plan, which she outlined in her 2009 book, The Flexitarian Diet: The Mostly Vegetarian. Cut your meat intake in half by swapping half a portion of meat or poultry with plant-based proteins like beans, lentils, or tofu.

Fill your plate with more fruits and vegetables and try. The Flexitarian Diet is pretty straightforward; eat more plants and less meat. Since plant foods tend to cost less per calorie than their meat counterparts, your bank account benefits too.

For example, one pound of black beans may cost you around $1.39 while one pound of grass-fed ribeye steak will run you about $20.24, on average. “The Flexitarian Diet is a semi-vegetarian style of eating that encourages less meat and more plant-based foods. There are no specific rules or suggestions, making it an appealing option for people who are looking to cut back on animal products.” The guidelines for following a Flexitarian Diet are: Start every meal with vegetables and fruit. A flexitarian is a term for someone who follows a vegetarian way of eating 90 per cent of the time, but will indulge in meat dishes 10 per cent of the time. Often this is when plant-based foods aren’t available or their cravings become too strong.

The diet originated when people started to take a more environmental approach to their food choices. With a flexitarian diet, you can take a flexible approach to eating. This diet emphasizes plant-based foods but allows some meat on occasion. Fresh N’. The flexitarian diet is a system that encourages people to stop eating meat for the purpose of weight loss.

The diet relies on eating plant-based food, which will drastically lower your caloric intake and help you shake off the extra pounds.

However, Welch et al. (2010) found that, although nonfish-eating meat eaters and vegetarians have much lower intakes of EPA and DHA than fish eaters, their n-3 status is higher than would be expected, which suggests a greater conversion of ALA to circulating long-chain n-3 fatty acids in non-fish-eating groups.

  • this is a shit study, why is this kind of useless studies always conducted over and over? hmm I wonder why… follow the money perhaps we would find vegan food companies supporting this shit

  • All the so called ‘blue zones’ in the world the regions with highest human longevity rate are overwhelmingly plant-based. Up until 1950 Okinawans ate a 98% plant-based diet, since then a lot of western influence from the West and a rise in the consumption of animal products has brought heart disease, diabetes and cancer to those people.

  • If today I stop eating a keto-ish diet and only eat fresh fruits and veggies no matter how much or little, my gums will bleed by late afternoon no gum bleeding issues on me eating a keto-ish way. Can someone explain why this is? Doctors can’t explain it to me even after blood tests, so maybe some of you have experienced the same and would appreciate a non-biased of why and or how to remedy this if I were to decide to be more plant-based. Thanks.

  • For a vegan to sustain themselves on what I get from a nice grass fed steak, they would have to eat a bushel of vegetables, and still not get the same nutrient level.

  • I want to find a VEGAN doctor in Brooklyn, because I want a doctor with a working brain, but have been finding it hard if anyone knows one please tell!

  • Some of these comments by non-believers are . To each their own. Do research, try it yourself, give it a chance. If it doesn’t work, fine. But don’t mock those that it does work for.

  • That may be true. But learn a real lesson from history. The Hindu’s are the earliest vegetarian society ever found. They balanced their diets perfectly…. by 1526, their society had been completely conquered by the Mughal empire. The Hindu emperor fled, hiding in the mountains. If the British hadn’t intervened….. Hindu culture would be extinct today. So you want to go vegan? What kind of soldiers will you raise?

    MODERATION IN ALL THINGS.

  • Mate, just check out Dr.Gregor please. He will fill you in. A whole food plant based diet is optimal for all people at all stages of life with very few exceptions.

    Check out ‘The China Study’.

The largest and most comprehensive study on human nutrition and related health effects ever done. It concludes that a whole foods plant based diet is the way to optimum health.

  • Haha she acts as if meat and dairy aren’t extremely subsidized by the government. As if the American diet isn’t plagued by processed meats and dairy products. Btw, tell me what exactly is the point of eating dairy products?? Surprised she didn’t say anything about eggs XD. Why add religion into this seriously? As if people already don’t justify meat eating by saying god made them for us… what can’t you get from a vegan diet that you can on meat and dairy? B12? Haha. If you criticize officials of having conflicts of interest, please take a step back and look at the industry you’re supporting. There are endless amounts of information online preaching that meat, dairy, eggs are good for you. Look at the funding. Eggs literally cannot be labelled as healthy legally. By the way, people in Eastern countries are seeing higher rates of obesity and health issues because of an increasing adoption of a western diet, high in animal products. Go figure.

  • This cholesterol guide “Hοzantο Axy” (Google it) is an exciting new remedy I simply started to look at. Particularly, I commenced implementing it to lower my cholesterol at the advice of my MEDICAL DOCTOR. Everyday, I have to obtain a caplet. This should be completed for two months. It has reduced my cholesterol to 30 points. I will surely keep on making use of this product and even endorse it to my very own relatives..

  • Part of the problem with RCTs and nutrition, in my opinion, is that nutrition is very much tied to a person’s health. What right do we have to possibly make participants sick or obese (a pattern that can be very hard to break out of) for research purposes? Furthermore, it’s very hard, nutritionally, to compare apples ot apples, figuratively speaking. Is a bag of potato chips equal to a baked potato or mashed potatoes? Can you really lump fruit in with candy or meat? Just from my own experience, I can say I feel a lot better eating fresh fruit so often (now that I live less than 2 miles from multiple grocery stores… instead of being 65 miles away…). Of course, the plural of anecdote isn’t data and I’m sure results vary. Still, it’s hard to see fresh fruit as ‘unhealthy’. Furthermore, I’m sure that not all meat is created equal. There’s a big difference between a boiled chicken salad and fried chicken with fries, for example. That said, I’m sure I’m biased, as likely pretty much everyone is. Full disclosure, I’m vegetarian (in part because I really don’t like writhing in pain for hours on end after eating meat… it’s just not fun for me). Of course I’m going to personally think that a gluten-based diet with lots of fresh fruit and veggies and grains (and the occassional egg or dairy product) is awesome because that’s what I eat, and I do well on it. Clearly, imposing my diet on someone with Celiac’s disease would be a very, very bad idea. I think this is why nutrition science is so difficult. Everyone’s body is different, and one size may never fit all.

  • Fish eaters have been proven to live the longest I.e. Pescatarians which is what I subscribe to. A diet consisting of whole plant foods, fruit, nuts, grains and fish is optimal for humans. Stay away from land animals.

  • This guy is actually correct—being as grossly overweight as him clearly has no affect on anyones absolute mortality risk. Heart disease and diabetes have always been fake news

  • I considered going vegan/vegetarian. I did notice a lot of fake meat, like fake Philly cheesesteaks (no!). By being flexitarian if I want a cheesesteak, I’ll get one (not too often tho, too heavy). I think that makes me appreciate the strict vegan/ vegetarian dishes more.

It has reduced my cholesterol level to 30 points. I certainly will carry on using this product and in addition endorse it to my family members..

  • the host is obviously feeling very guilty and one of his primary concerns is what other people think of *him*. bottom line it’s about him. you’re not vegan until you become a lot less self-centered and you start thinking about how you’re hurting others. then a side effect can be you can achieve your healthiest self and help heal the planet, as the UN notes in multiple reports and as per overall scientific consensus and basic logic if you think about it.

  • I can’t believe we live in a world where the highest percentage is ignorant… Just look at USA and their diet, oh my Lord. PLANT BASED DIET IS DESIGNED FOR HUMANS, and it simply cannot be discussed. It’s a FACT, it’s the TRUTH, it’s a LAW!

  • A person can live a long healthy life without eating any animal products. A person can life a long healthy life with eating some animal products. I doubt that very many people can live long, healthy lives if they eat very little else but sweets, processed meats and potato chips… but I am sure a few can.

  • I got a challenge by my personal Medical professional to get my cholesterol level lower to under 200 or he wished me to have a statin. However I went to one more treatment to have. And tested out applying this particular cholesterol guide “Hοzantο Axy” (Google it). To my surprise, it works. It’s decreased to 200. This is certainly all without that nasty fishy taste along with other tablets..

  • 1. What is the role of cholesterol in the body?
    2. What is your brain made out of?
    3. What is special about ruminants that allow them to get amino acids from plants?

Please research and answer these questions before you do anything to your diet. Look up the mechanisms of the human body.

  • Funny how you all take advice from “doctors” who not one of which look healthy. humans are not herbivores, we are not even omnivores. We are carnivores by nature. The carnivore diet/keto has completely changed my life for the better, while to be vegan we must eat manmade heavily processed foods and oils which not even found in nature as well as supplements which if you have to supplement then by definition your diet is lacking nutrients. Wake up people they are pushing this diet not for the animals it is for profit and mind control!

  • So if we are supposed to be non-vegans. Why can are bodies process plants in the rawest form, if not a toxic plant, such as blueberries, and it’s healthy? Yet we cannot process meat in the rawest form, we get rid of the blood in the meat, and we will die if we eat meat in the rawest form possible, we are the only species that cooks their meals. For example all other “omnivores”, omni meaning all, vore meaning to eat, well they can process both plants and ANIMALS raw!!! We don’t have the ability to process animals in the rawest form (straight from biting an animal) for we will die from parasites, bacteria, and so much more. Explain? This is a matter of common sense for me.

  • I thought the research pointed at skipping breakfast for long jeopardy, and the must eat breakfast beliefs has been debunked, & doesn’t eating smoothies make you overweight because your body can’t digest all the sugars that fast because digestion starts with chewing.???

  • my go to breakfast, even before going vegan, is oatmeal with flax or chia seeds, banana or apple, with cinnamon and sweetener. best breakfast hands down!!!!

  • The study puts potatoes in the same category as processed sweets and desserts as well as chemically sweetened and flavored beverages.
I think I’m gonna take this with a very small pinch of salt.
Anyone who thinks potatoes are as bad as candy should not be running a study in the first place.

  • The data for breakfast is a meal you shouldn’t skip???? Head scratcher… I eat my tofu scramble with spinach and oatmeal breakfast 12pm every day for over a year and I haven’t died yet..

  • In Islam, you technically cannot be vegan as unnecessary self-denial is considered wrong. The early Arab Muslims would primarily eat meat so eating meat has become an important part of our lives. Fasting is highly promoted for spiritual (including sexual restraint) and health benefits and actually we fast quite often other than the 30 days of fasting in the month of Ramadan. Sadly, mixing of other religious ideologies with science has certainly led to disastrous consequences. Thankfully Islam is fully supportive and preaches the right dietary principles which are backed by sound evidence-based science.

  • Am felxi too… I tryed 3 times be Vegan,.first i was 8 months, 2 time i was 9 and the 3 time i was more than one year including my pregnancy and 5 months breastfeeding… As usually I end up craving after meat or eggs…

  • When sis said she would make some grits with nutritional yeast and jalapeños I was like “Girl, you betta day that!!” Everyone loves cheesy grits!!!!

  • Oatmeal has a calming effect, it should be consumed at night, organic free range eggs cooked on low heat sunny side up in grass fed butter/ slices of avocado on the side works for me.

  • I’m loving oatmeal tsampa for breakfast. It consist of steel cut oats roasted barley flour made fresh, freshly ground flax seeds and oat milk and almond flour. It lowers my blood pressure so much its amazing cuz I have high blood pressure and it taste great

  • Challenging orthodoxy is dangerous (good examples were Galileo Galilei and Ignaz Semmelweis). What happened to Gary simply proves that the earth is still flat.

  • Any Doctor that argues that humans are carnivores in any way IS AN IDIOT!!
Sure, the human body can handle and adapt to an omnivorous diet, but humans are not designed to eat meat in any way!!
The best athletes in the world are vegetarians.
Even some of the world record holding weight lifters.
And just think, Gorillas are herbivores and they’ve got some pretty strong and developed muscles, along with Elephants etc….

  • This is a really good video, We tracked down an article about Research Shows Plant Protein Increases Longevity let’s checkout https://www.strengthyogi.com/new-research-shows-plant-protein-increases-longevity/

  • I was vegan for a long while, I never, ever thought I needed meat ever again. On a vegan diet I was never healthy, always fat and low on energy 24/7. Some people do wonderfully on a vegan diet. Others dont….

  • By your definition, meat eaters are people with no diet. Therefore, that doesn’t limit carbs intake. You should’ve compared with carnivores or Keto people, people who eat meat is wayyy too vague.

  • All vegans who are saying that we are healthy, we don’t have cholesterol problems, we live longer!

Plz let me eat you, so that i can stay healthy by your healthy meat
    Plzzzzz, it’s an request

  • How amazing! You are doing the right thing. Let’s all Get Back to the Basics! God told us in the beginning, didn’t He? but We thought we were wiser than God and knew what was best for us.
Genesis 29-31: “And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.” See? Green herb , fruit , seed. For food..And indeed it was very good!

  • You forgot acais is very good and VeRY expensive too…and try aronia fruit guys, way better tyan acai and way cheaper…I sell it cheap, dont buy acai expensive shit

  • So its just someome who doesmt eat much, you can be a flexitarian for moral reasons because at the end of the day your still eating meat.

  • I was raised in a family and went to church that were Jehovah’s Witness. Despite belonging to that religious cult for 21 years, the cult of veganism makes the Church of Jehovah look group of scientific intellectuals.

  • This guy is a big mouth. He is right about the stats but his conclusion is not. He would have said the same things about smoking. Stats are always easy to pick apart. You just have to use common sense. Plant based foods will provide fibre and a range of nutrients meat does not.aAlso meat consumption is excessive and very often contaminated with antibiotics used as growth hormones, faecal contamination of intensive farming and slaughtering. Apart from the damage to the environment and humans affected by eg COVID 19 in abattoirs the chronic effect on health does not appear to worry this chap. You wonder whose paying him to act like this.

  • Lovely video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard about Chireetler Deepest Relaxation Rule (google it)? It is an awesome exclusive product for learning to grow muscle when you are naturally thin without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my best friend Jordan finally got astronomical success with it.

  • Did he seriously include meat as part of an unhealthy VEGAN diet?? Plus, potatoes aren’t unhealthy! They’re a high GI food, sure, but that doesn’t make them bad for you. They’re friggin’ starchy vegetables!

  • It would be a waste for you not to lose body fat while other typical people are capable to lose weight easily with Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • I want to give a testimony on how I got cured from Herpes Virus. Few months back I was having some symptoms. I went to see a doctor and many blood tests was done on me, later on I was told I had Herpes. My doctor told me that there’s no cure for Herpes I felt bad, I went online searching for a possible cure for Herpes Virus, I saw a post of Dr Ozula a herbal doctor that cured someone from Herpes. I contacted him and told him how I’m feeling he said his herbal medicine can cure me. He sent me the medicine via Courier Service and I received the medicine some days after he sent it, i took the medicine as prescribed by him. Before the completion of the medication the symptoms stopped. I went to the doctor and carried out another blood test, surprisingly I was Negative. I haven’t had any symptoms anymore, you can contact him no whatsapp +2347050891914 or you can Email: [email protected] gmail.com

  • As expert, I do think Custokebon Secrets is great way to lost crazy amounts of weight. Why don’t you give it a shot? perhaps it will work for you too.

  • Simply put if you’re shitting a lot like multiple times a day (vegans) you’re not healthy. You shouldn’t be spiking your insulin constantly. Animal products are nutritious and satiating and cause lower insulin spikes, don’t eat processed meat get grass fed

  • At 61 I now run upto Half marathons ( 1:55:30) 600 miles + for the last 2 years( I never run from school until 54) over 12 Months Keto and now carnivore, I always run fasted ( OMAD and never eat carbs. I have lost a load of weight, Fat and not muscle. Never felt better and I am running PB’s
I rarely eat and vegetables and never ever starchy vegetables or grains. I have cured a life times IBS, Hay fever and insulin resistance. i will never ever go Vegan (or vegetarian) I don’t wont to look like Dr G

  • Belinda, you have researched with intent to find evidence that matches your pre-ordained narrative.

Why don’t you research the relative D.C. lobbyist and donation activity of the SDA and the livestock industry?

You make a giant leap from early SDA history to 1988, when vegetarianism was finally supported by the guidelines. Prior to this it wasn’t, with significant prejudice.

over the period you discuss, you do not address the balance of scientific evidence to eat less animal produce, and more plant.

To date, the USDA guidelines and ADA still lag the world in recommended legume, vegetable, and fruit intake, despite a lack of fiber being the no.1 deficit of the US diet that has the most potential to ease the growing rate of overweight Americans.

  • love you guys and love your humour!!!! Someday the sickly will waddle into this or keel over with a big mac hanging from their mouths, clutching a box of wheaties…

  • Please explain how the longest living populations on this planet dont do low carb, but high carb? And why are all low carb talks so painfully slow?

  • Do natural popular weight loss method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I’ve noticed several amazing things about this popular weight loss secrets.

  • The biggest problem in my opinion with meat eating is the environmental disaster it causes. It contributes to global warming, humans deforest 90% of the Amazon for cattle, we cultivate more crops for cows than for humans, we use more water for cows than for humans, and many more problems.

  • It would be a waste for you not to shed fat while other typical people are capable to shed extra pounds very easily using Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • Gary and Belinda Fettke are comlete and utter morons If you’re listening to people who had their medical lisence revolked you’re are serioulsy deranged!

  • I have been trying this Elevacity product for memory and focus and it actually works as a weight loss product too. Here is my blog of my journey and the product. I do not sell the product!! https://foreigngirly.com/2020/08/05/elevacity/

  • “im not anti-vegan or…”

yes you are… you cannot eat animals and not be antivegan…
shes just trying to deflect from her bad habits.
theres a really good reason that her dumb ass husband got BANNED from medicine

  • I would like to be vegan because as you said the meat’s quality is getting lower but in my country is also expensive to consume vegan products that replaces meat, eggs, milk, etc.

  • Did everyone miss the study where vegans are immune to to the coronavirus because they have a high vitamin C intake lol.

Did people also miss the most searched thing on Google is how to go vegan ever since the coronavirus has hit,
people are learning if you healthy you are less likely the virus to damage your respiratory system.

this guy never included who actually lives longer watch a TV show called “what the health” it will explain in scientific terms who will live longer.

  • Drake Santiago PLEASE do not conflict animal welfare with animal rights. AR appropriated the term “animal welfare.” AR does not now or never has actually cared about the welfare of animals. It is an extreme anti-human ideology identical to fanatical environmentalism.

  • Unbelievable! This is not the first time that I’ve heard people say that you are a ‘Vegetarian’ if you eat vegetables and don’t eat read meat. Fish (and other foods like clams, muscles, oysters, lobsters, et al.) are animals, so are chickens, so are pigs even though their meat is not red. This is a ‘change the language’ ploy to fool our children who say “Mommy, the coolest student at school is vegetarian, so I want to be one too.” “Oh, my goodness.” their parents say to each other “Let’s change the definition of Vegetarian to include other animal meats, until our child forgets all about this issue and starts wanting a hamburger again.”

  • Great piece Doc. Observational studies, especially without sufficient adherence to Scientific Method, having truly diverse and statistically significant number of subjects doesn’t seem that much to ask for. I’m not talking just an equal number of men and women, but different socioeconomic groups, nations of origin, cultural traditions, ethnic origin, level of education, various ages, over TIME.

Even if we just fix how new studies are reported today, something like this piece, but even more so. For example, there was a time when every T.V. Network had Science editor or regular scientific and medical contributors. Even our local Chanel’s had a Science, Tech and Medical Editor. Without that we raw information reported WITHOUT context.

For example, either late last year or early this year a study was released that indicated that eating a specific food, and that food eludes me at the moment, I’d have to go back check my notes. Whenever I here of a new study, in just about any branch of science or medicine I read the original study to check methodology, numbers, of start with their Thesis and Abstract, then the conclusion, read the procedure, data. Then read the and scholarly work, in support or denouncing the study and look for standing and other similar research. It sounds exhaustive, but it’s just the way my mind works.

At any rate, this study read and reported that for the average American, and they should have written it as non-Asian American. If you eat x your likelihood, probability, of developing Stomach Cancer increased 30%. So that is exactly what they reported. But no context. In the U.S. for non-Asian Americans, in men the probability of males developing Stomach Cancer is 1 in 95 and for women 1 in 154, and is THAT PROBABILITY that increased by 30%, NOT an American’s OVERALL RISK. But that’s how they left it hanging out there like that.

That makes me so angry‼️‼️ Thank you for ALL the hard work and dedication‼️‼️‼️♥️♥️♥️✊✊✊‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️⚗️⚗️⚗️

  • Hello there, have you thought about this kind of diet plan known as the Custokebon Secrets? My buddy says it helps people lost a lot of weight. Is that possible? I also read a lot of great review relating to this diet plan. Thoughts?

  • A note about the way Esselstyns eats his oatmeal, he eats it raw, uncooked, just with the oat milk and fruit, when I heard this I thought gross, but I tried it and it’s one of my favorite things to eat now that I’ve gone vegan, I put bananas and blueberries and frozen raspberries they make the milk turn pink and appetizing, doesn’t even need date sugar like I first started putting.

  • 1 to 2 per 100,000 still means a lot of people when extrapolating to an entire population. Also, this particular study can’t establish causal link because it’s an observational study however plant based diets are the only diet that has been proven in clinical trials to reverse heart disease and stroke in the dean ornish studies. No other diet has done this in a clinical setting so taking observational studies and clinical studies together you can determine that healthy plant based diets reduce risk of cardiovascular events. The dean ornish studies in particular were a no oil whole foods plant based study and took participants that were already on death’s door from multiple heart attacks in the past. Almost every participant that adhered to the diet didn’t have another heart attack and 60% of those who didn’t adhere to the diet did.

You need to take all the evidence as a whole, you can dismiss any one single study but when you look at all of them as a whole you can’t deny that plant based diets save lives.

  • Great job Belinda. I follow both you & Gary on twitter (I’m @GuyNAustin), and your video inspired me to talk about what it means to be baptized into the church of Loma Linda. You both might enjoy it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OR497TEk7o

  • Eye-opening and chilling! Where would we still be without Gary and Belinda Fettke uncovering this centuries’ long scam on humanity?

  • Guys. There is no vegetarian, no vegan, no meat. Just listen to your body and eat what makes you feel better. I learned gluten, Caseinand too much sugar is bad for me, for example.

  • I recently became vegan and I’ve noticed that even though I incorporate a lot more plants than ever before, I’m still eating a lot of processed foods. Would love to see more videos like this especially since it sounds like you have a lot of insight, add a little b-roll if you can. I personally like the videos around this length. Have you watched Mic. the Vegan? I like the “flexitarian” approach you’re taking and I can see many people resonating to it.

  • Great info! Thank you so much. Have the recommendations changed given COVID19? How does one sanitize/kill viruses on fresh fruit such as berries?

  • Everyone wanna fight and argue and it happens to be vegans and vegetarians in the fight you know when the beef just taste like veggie?

  • vegan diet is harful for your health it can cause vitamin b12 heme iron vitamin d omega 3 and zinc deficiency meat is good as long as you eat the grass feed and unprocessed ones not those corn feed and processed ones

  • Doctor put me on iron supplements for low iron after blood test results. This was after eating high protein meats (7+ striploins per week) for several months. If I switch to plant-based diet I’ll be anemic.

  • My breakfast….includes….5 large bananas….1 apple…1 cup boiled oats…blended in a high speed blender…and a pomegranade pearls o top of it….heaven….

  • Vegan diets don’t cure baldness or mitigate a person’s need to wear glasses for those of you saying he looks older than his age. His complexion and skin texture are perfectly fine for someone his age lol.

  • Keep the next 5 mins of your life & know thisthe studies and in this crap promotion are TOTAL BUNK which he reveals at the very end. Godfuckingdamit Move on as fast as you can.

  • I recently had a stomach flu. And what is the best remedy for an upset and virus weakened digestive system? Toast/white bread, cooked white rice, salty crackers, bananas and all other fruit, along with cooked veggies. What you should not eat: oil, dairy, fatty foods or greasy meats. This alone tells me how bad animlal products-based diets are and how great plant-based diets are for us.

  • I don’t understand why this is an issue…..If your happy on a vegan diet, i’m happy for you! why can’t you be happy for me, on a meat, cheese and milk diet? Why is this a topic of discussion.. like I dont care and criticize others on their diet why do you have to have an opinion on mine???

  • I am vegan primarily for the ethical reasons, and would be fascinated to hear a well-constructed, non-hedonistic argument for consuming meat and other animal products. Veganism to me seems the only logical option if you care at all about the well-being of other beings of consciousness.

  • Uhhh how bout the RCTs done by Dr Caldwell Esselstyn and Dr Dean Ornish??? They reversed our number one killer, why are you completely ignoring that

  • Yup… And now from “religious ideology” they are appealing to atheists as well by advertising it as a “planet friendly” diet… The subtefuge never ends… Thanks for this!

  • So vegan is an diet (“disease”)<(don't take that serious) that makes peoples to eat vegetables, fruits.I feel bad for the abused plants.
When I said disease it was a JOKE understand it was a joke.
No it is not true being vegan is normal wheb I said disease I mean that IT IS AN JOKE, stop taking everything serious.

  • New subbie here. Thank you for explaining this. I told my vegan and vegetarian friends I was flexitarian and they all told me how bad it was and i need to go Vegan or full on Veg. I also got attacked by the Keto peeps. Ugh lol

  • It’s easy to get protein as a vegetarian eggs have 6 grams per egg and I’m only 13 and I can eat 8 eggs for breakfast which is 48 grams already and some people are older that have bigger stomach that can eat more

  • Brian, I would encourage you to go vegetarian, you practice TM right…Maharishi Mahesh Yogi taught his students to be vegetarian. I have been strict vegetarian for 40+ years and I am 62 and learning handstands, working out, doing yoga and still feel like I am in my 20s or 30s. You will be better for it.

  • 476 dislikes, from random people on YouTube who, I assume, disagree with a large number of long-term medically trained doctors and practitioners. Literal evidence that there’s always a handful of people that are unreachable, because they’re that stupid, closed minded and in their own bubble.

  • Oh…… YOU ARE WONDERFUL… YOU REALLY LEARN SOME HISTORY.. WELL DONE> THANKS VERY MUCH…
Now I know the history of our junk food.

  • Flax and Chia seeds are full of lignants that kill testosterone. Ok for women, but not for men. Bad dietary advice on this video. Disappointing.

  • PLant based diet will NOT work for you….UNLESS it’s ORGANIC, and UNLESS you also include some Fermented foods such as Yogurt, Fermented High protein BREADS….. Any Athlete will know what I’m talking about. Many Plant-based body builders and athletes STILL rely on Concentrated PLant-based Protein Powders to get enough protein, and unless these are fermented and containing enzymes, theyre also HARD to digest…..

  • I am sorry for what you all had to go through, I have been doing the slow Carb diet on and off for a couple of years now, you all Rock, loved the song at the end. Thank you for putting in the time and research to make this happen, “ going off of Channeled info” I’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona

  • kill kill kill, eat, lots of meat! with toxins! and pumped full of steroids, and other nasty things. never mind the ‘fear’ your eating, never mind the agenda to keep us eating “death” and blood, and going against our natural diet, as based on our teeth, digestive system, etc.
keep eating Hek293 Human embryonic kidney cells, which are classified as natural flavours now. Its all a personal choice as to what you eat, but you have a choice now. to cause more suffering or to relieve suffering. which one do you choose?

  • They say we must eat breakfast like a king. I ask my medical students what does the king of the jungle (the lion) eat? In addition to natural living things not eating early breakfast, breakfast itself came after the 15th century, probably prompted by companies that benefit from sales.

  • Adventists have far more credible scientific health research than yourself, let alone proven to live longer than the average. End of story. I just watched her husbands video which i cringed to watch…skimmed through it. Anyone who thinks coffee is better than fruit should definitely have their licence revoked. One of the problems with the health and fitness industry in recent years is the growth of ‘unqualified’ professionals who claim to be experts. The sing song at the end…speechless.

  • thanks for your presentation Belinda. I agreed with most of what you stated. One of the other reasons eating animals has been unjustly vilified is because some people who eat animals also ingest harmful dairy and the harmful meat additives nitrite/nitrate.

  • Take it from someone who is vegan 38 years…you will be healthier when you get older if you eat a well balanced diet which includes both meat and plants

  • Although I like oatmeal and smoothies, I sometimes would love to have other plant based options for breakfast.:) Oh I love the grits option. Lol

  • This comment section looks like something out of the daily caller or breitbart. These people don’t know how to argue logically and in good faith. Yes. Dr Greger is thin. He is a researcher not a weight lifter. He doesn’t spend his time lifting weights in the air and putting them back down. He spends his days doing research and writing. Weight lifter Kendrick Farris is also vegan so OBVIOUSLY the fact that a vegan researcher is thin isn’t evidence of anything.

The fact that Dr. Greger doesn’t have movie star looks is also irrelevant. Not everyone does. Lots of non-beautiful people who eat all kinds of foods including whatever foods you eat. Also, lots of beautiful people eating vegan so STFU.

  • Some foods are objectively some of the healthiest foods on the planet. Grassfed liver for example, has more nutrients gram for gram for gram than almost any other food.

  • Grass fed meet, pastured eggs, butter and seafood are more important than eating your fruit and veg. A bite of plants is in fact a missed opportunity displacing you of valuable animal nutrition.

  • I grew up with a farmer/fisherman father, We always eat veggies and fish everyday.. meat sometimes since it expensive.. Now im 31 and looking back i never had a disease and never hospitalized.

  • Since the end of 2019, I realized the importance of eating vegetables. My body became more sensitive and if I did eat a lot of meat, I would feel sick. I’d get headaches and mood swings, especially anger or sadness. This made me aware and I decided to become 100 percent vegetarian. But then it concerned me about the deficiency and my taste buds so I googled different diets and found out that semi veg diet is the best option for me. So now I eat meat rarely. Maybe once in a month. This year I ate chicken after 4 or 5 months. Definitely feeling a lot better.

  • I just started on this diet.:D Before i eat meat almost every single meal. Feel so sick all the time. Hope this change of diet can improve my well being.

  • STAY AWAY from self destruction. Vegan is slow death malnutrition Go vegan and die STAY AWAY!
2 yrs Carnivore and going strong… healed everything: Mind. Overweightness. Inflammations. Digestion. Energy/sleep. Performance………… u name it, i fixed it with Carnivore RAw diary. Pastured eggs. Grass fed grass finished meats and organs ( rawest the better). Wild caught fish and shellfish raw when possible.

  • Weekdays: 32 oz Green Smoothie Weekends: Southwest tofu scramble in homemade chickpea flour flatbread and roasted sweet potato home fries, or Chocolate Spelt Waffles & Berries

  • I’m stunned by the sheer amount of scientific expertise in the comment section absolutely DESTROYING Dr. Greger with such intellectual classics as “mEaT nO gOoD?! dR. dOeSnt kNoW whAT hE tAlKiNg aBoUT!!”

  • The facade used by the crowd is both scientific and religious. Members of both the communities are equally guilty culprits. Evolution is still an unproven myth.

  • Do vegans and vegetarians realise that animals kill other animals
And they don’t do it quick and swiftly like us humans do
Half of all carnivores on earth eat their prey alive slowly and INCREDIBLY painfully
Us humans are kind for doing it quick and painlessly… they should be thanking those respectful butchers… not harassing them for killing animals.
I understand that there are Evil people in this world who do horrible things to animals and are terrible to animals and they need to be STOPPED and put an end too
But it doesn’t mean u have to stop eating meat entirely… just buy meat that was made in a humane way, a happy life, with lots of healthy food and water with tons of space to live a happy life with other animals of the same species and a quick and swift death
A lot better than any creature that has ever existed on this planet…
But its ur life and ur opinion, and this is just my opinion.
You don’t see a lion or crocodile stop eating meat because they rip other animals throats out or rip them to pieces alive. Just saying
And I understand that there are disgusting people on this earth who need to be stopped, but like I said before, only eat animal products that were guaranteed to have been made humanly

  • Simple. EAT MORE!!!
Gorillas are primarily PLANT eaters. They weigh on average 400 pounds. They eat on average 20Kg of plant foods per day. That means they eat on average about 100g food per/Kilogram Body Weight.
Now If I was to eat a Gorilla diet according to my Body mass which is 64KG, I’d have to eat about 6.4 Kg of RAW plant foods per day.

This means, 6Kg of a ‘Green apple diet’ would give me: (Low Fat, Low protein)
    Calories
    3120
    % Daily Value *
    Total Fat 10g 13 %
    Saturated Fat 1.7g 8 %
    Sodium 60mg 3 %
    Total Carbohydrate 829g 301 %
    Dietary Fiber 144g 514 %
    Sugar 623g
    Protein 16g 32 %

    Calcium 360.00mg 28 %
    Iron 7.20mg 40 %
    Potassium 6420mg 137 %

However, if it was let’s say a ‘Mustard Greens diet’, it would give me a shocking Surprise! See below…
    Calories
    1620
    % Daily Value *
    Total Fat 25g 32 %
    Saturated Fat 0.6g 3 %
    Sodium 1200mg 52 %

    Calcium 6900.00mg 531 %

    And sufficient Carbohydrates)

  • I wonder how the Adventists ignore Genesis 9:3, where God says, “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.” P.S.: love the song! So great!

  • Plants give me diarrhea. The only reason I found out that plants are poison is by not eating them regularly anymore. When I do eat them I get gas, diarrhea and my hemorrhoids flair up and I break out with acne.

  • You can hear his BS as he looks for acceptance continually; right, right, right, right….over and over! This guy needs to talk over you and needs you to accept him as Boss! ridicules.

  • 5 whole grain 6 bean bowl every day huge diversity in grains and beans to kick start the day. Add on berries, some seeds and soy milk

  • The internet is great for double checking medical advice. I always verify what a doctor tells me and most of the time do research before seeing a doctor.

Remember the old saying: “Question Authority”. Always question medical and health advice.

  • I just have come off a displaced tibial plateau fracture and been immobile for 2 months. As a consequence, I have piled on some weight not being able to exercise. I have long been looking for a diet that makes sense to me, that I can stick with. I really think this fits the bill! My criticism of eating vegan is reflected here as well. Tons of processed foods! Expensive too. It just is not logical. For the last decade or so, I have not eaten much red meat at all. Once a month or so, I might indulge. Most of my animal protein sources have been organic chicken, eggs, and fish. I seek to reduce the eggs especially, as I am not sure how much it has contributed to my elevated cholesterol. There is conflicting information on that too.

  • We should get b12 from the same places animals do.. natural water supply and healthy dirt on our food but neither of us have that luxury anymore.

  • We are omnivores, the optimal diet requires meat.I feel sorry for animals, but I would not risk my health to go vegan. If it requires supplements, something is not ok.Nature works in certain ways and after hundreds of thousands of years with meat,it is clear why we are omnivores.

  • Herbivores have additional digestive organs that are capable of processing complex plant matter. By preying upon Herbivores, Meat Eaters avoid the need to possess complicated (and usually Physically Large; and/or redundant) digestive organs.

  • I buy a lot of vegetarian products but still eat meat at times. I usually buy meat that is reduced at the supermarket. It kinda grosses me out to eat a whole lot of meat at once, like at Thanksgiving and stuff.

  • It’s the exact opposite. Animal-based foods are unquestionably more nutrient-dense and the nutrients are more bio-available for humans. Anytime you are eating a plant, you are displacing better nutrition you can be getting from animal-based foods. Just search on youtube for ex-vegan to carnivore vs the reverse if you’re skeptical. People feel good initially if going from a processed SAD diet to veganism, but 4-5 years in and you can see the rapid deterioration that happens when people try to stay vegan. Most people going from vegan to carnivore or even keto or low carb to carnivore are seeing great benefits, because they’re no longer displacing animal foods with plant foods.

  • There is no room for religious ideology in nutrition here in the UK there is a strong anti bacon movement driven by the Muslim community determined that we should all follow their ideology.

  • I also do overnight oats with oatmilk, dried fruit, and the big three seeds: ground flax, chia, and hemp hearts. I have started adding those three to my apple-banana-kale smoothies, too

  • i really dislike how vegan, try to make all people vegan. by not telling the truth about the diet. it great for a bit but not long term. we had a family that put all children on the vegan diet. the 18mo old died of malnutrition. the dhs test all the kids and then took the way.

  • What an awesome, brave couple you are! Thank you for shining a much needed light on the madness of today’s dietary guidelines. Congratulations to Gary for finally being free from such mad, authoritarian investigations. Please keep up the good work. Greetings from Oregon, USA.

  • Well his eyesight is getting worse…
Maybe a mix of chiken hearts, livers and gizzards fried in bacon fat… With onions and mushrooms is in order

  • As specialist, I believe Custokebon Secrets is great way to lost a lot of weight. Why don’t you give it a shot? maybe it’ll work for you too.

  • I hate the horrible constipation I have experienced by going vegan. A gallon of water a day, nothing but veggies and freaking constipated!!

  • Nutrition is the only science where those who consider evolution a “fringe” and those who don’t “mainstream”.
Well, I don’t believe that nutrition fits precisely under either philosophy per se.

  • SHE SAID GRITTTSSS, VEGANS BE SLEEP ON THE GRITS MAN. ALL THIS DAMN OATMEAL… don’t get me wrong, I love the oatmeal, but grits are a GREAT alternative when you’re on an oatmeal overload.

  • Ben is great! I worked with him as a private food coach for my family. He helped us with menu and recipe planning as well as cooking demonstrations. More than that, he inspired us to transition to a healthier diet by helping us find foods we really like that are healthy at the same time.

  • Nice explanation and keeping it real by recognizing that it’s pretty much impossible for the normal person/family to cut out all animal products completely.

  • I agree with it fully. If you restrict any food group then life just isn’t good. Plus eating less animal products is just good for the world and our health. Meat and animal products are an occasional treat.

  • soy is very very bad for you. It is only pushed on consumers because the government is making a ton of money off of its sales. Do Not Eat Soy if you want to stay healthy.

  • You Mention fish as a vegetarian food. Fish is not vegetarian because it contains animal meat. Fish meat to be exact. Just some advice

  • I’ve found plant based breakfast to be very limiting in choices. Either it’s highly processed (imitation of animal products) or very limiting, whole plant choices: oatmeal, avocados toast, but butter or hummus or refríes beans on toast.
