So technically, yes — sauna bathing can absolutely help someone who needs to shed some weight jumpstart the process, but the effects of the sauna on body mass will diminish as they begin to lower. There is a tiny bit of weight loss happening while you’re in the sauna. That’s because you’re sweating off water weight. Once you begin drinking again, the water weight returns. The higher.

  • Cutting corners lol. Cardio while wearing Sauna suit is definitely not a short cut. It will improve your Cardio strength. Give it a shot. Run ya self a mile in a Sauna suit.

  • Calories and diet is the most important. However the suit does help. You’re also improving your immune system and everything else by doing cardio. I don’t get why you’re encouraging people NOT to do that. Even with the suit on, even if you lose water weight, you need to lose water weight FIRST before you lose fat. Have had one for 3 years now and get in it at least 3 times a week. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after a session for dehydration. One of my favorite tools to stay healthy.

Seriously, that program has transformed my entire life.   • Sauna suit help your body build up tolerance against extreme heat, stamina, endurance, strength and resting metabolism. So tell me how does Sauna suits not help with weight lost?? Is similiar to wearing sweater and sweat pants to the gym because it help to build up your body to endure longer in extreme work out. Why do you think people go jogging in 90-100degrees heat? Your video in some parts are right but the parts about sauna suit not helping at all in losing weight is totally wrong. It is so much harder running on a treadmill with a sauna suit on then to run without one.   • Far Infra Red saunas are very enjoyable…you can easily sit in them for 30 to 60 minutes and sweat lots…the hot rock saunas are difficult to sit in for a longer period of time…that’s why those people who can’t sit in those should try the FIR sauna…all it is light that goes thru your body and produces heat…so if you sit there longer, you probably will burn off more fat…maybe Thomas will comment

  • I can tolerate 30-45 minutes in a Finnish Sauna without problem but when I do 20 minutes or more of infrared sauna I get a brain splitting headache about half an hour after I finish.   • This is not true at all. yes u do lose water weight but u also burn fat. There’s no way someone that burns 1000 calories or more in a sauna suit is just burning water weight; and u don’t burn fat by eating less calories

  • I use it in the winter here in Philadelphia. I love to ride bikes but in the winter it gets too cold sometimes so I ride the spin bike in the house. While doing so I wear my sauna suit. I only use it for one half hour at a time no longer than that. It helps me to keep the weight off in the winter and I love my full body neoprene sauna suit.

  • I am going to use them for the next year. Eating diet that consists mainly of chicken breasts, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus and more chicken breast combined with a sustainable workout routine. Mainly cardio.   • From looking at the thermometer in the sauna at my gym its at 175 degrees. Normally I sit in the sauna for 5 minutes today I actually spent 10 minutes in the sauna and normally I go in the sauna when I finish up my weight lifting. Normally in my workout shorts. And 9 times out of 10 Im in the sauna at least one other person is in there. Maybe as many as 3 other people.

  • Great stuff, I’ve been a hot yoga instructor for 4 years and definitely believe that heat exposure is very beneficial. However as a resident of Arizona I am also aware of the dangers of heat. Almost every year there are reports of young fit people going out for hikes/runs in the desert and dropping dead of heat stroke. After looking into it for the health of my yoga students I discovered that when the average persons core body temperature exceeds 104 proteins begin to denature and cellular bilayers begin to dissolve leading to metabolic/cellular disfunction and eventual death. After reading that I never bring the room temperature above 104 instead I increase the humidity to induce a good sweat. So I would say yes get that heat exposure but be cautious and keep it within limits. Lastly Thomas I would love to know what the minimum core/superficial body temperature needs to be in order to release heat shock protein? Thanks!

  • I personally, possibly anecdotally, think that sweating will even help with skin tightening. Idk if it’s partial sweating out fats and oils, or if it’s just the raising of body temperature that inadvertently cause sweating and fat mobilization, but ya…one summer I walked everywhere I went almost, and I would sweat a LOT, and I shed a lot of fat and my skin was not loose at all, it tightened up along with my fat loss.

I know water weight isn’t fat but when I jump rope and sweat, I really do lose fat so if I’m using something extra to help me sweat even more, I don’t see why it would not make me lose even more.   • i tried this, i think it was helping, but then i broke out in itchy keto rash it seemed, i was doing it after swimming a mile in chlorinated pool at YMCA(rinsed off after), i may have stressed my body to much, staying in to long, and doing it too repetitively, will attempt again. I’m know for rash breakouts or fever blisters if exposed to intense heat. Just need to listen to my body. Thanks for what you do T.D.

  • Definitely biased against those that wear the suits and sweat over the machinery. I don’t like it either, but he shouldn’t have let that taint his advice. That was obvious at the beginning of the video.
    Anyone knows that doing an exercise under stress, like higher temperatures will burn more than doing it at room temperature and that suit does that. Your body has to work harder and you feel it doing that because it is hot and uncomfortable. Now, one shouldn’t look for the suit to solve all one’s weight problems, but it is a great tool to add your workout, like using different grips on barbells and getting good shoes to run in. It enhances a “good” workout plan. It’s not cheating and I laugh at the term “shortcut”. It is a harder way of doing it, that can get you to your goal quicker.

  • I can never seem to get a straight answer on the question of how long and what intervals to sauna at to get the full benefit. I normally dry sauna 220 degrees 15 mins, cold shower then back in for 15 mins more. I do this 4-5 times a week after workout.Is this enough? Thanks

  • i’ve been using the sauna suit and my personal opinion is it makes your workouts 10x harder because you’re trapped in this trash bag that is really really hot and after a week of using it, i was able to see more definition in my abs, it doesn’t burn body fat, it burns water weight that’s about it. i love it
