  • Her we go, Day TWO of Fifty! In this video, we’re talking about how to Budget and SAVE money so finances are less stressful in your present, you can break money habits of past, and your future is secure.
► Claim Your Free Passive Income Course:

Let’s talk about saving money. Let me ask you something: when I said that sentence, how did you feel? Excited? Amped up? Inspired? Now if you’re like most people (admittedly myself included) I’m willing to bet you had an unconscious eye roll or weren’t quite jumping up and down. You’re not alone: 76% of USA live paycheck to paycheck TWO things before we get into this budget — so simple.

    1. PAY YOURSELF FIRST: Download the Qapital App — decide in advance + Automate:
    2. GET BRUTALLY HONEST: Use to track things.
    3. GET YOUR “A” COSTS: These are the BARE bones what you need (rent, insurance, food, electrical bill). Look into past 3 months and find
    4. GET YOUR “B” COSTS: These are the things that if you HAD to cut, you could. Not 100% essential. Gym membership, even cell phone, car + gas + car insurance, home internet, etc.
    5. GET YOUR “C” COSTS: These are nice to have: eating out, Entertainment, Shoes, Amazon purchases, Clothes, etc
    6. ADD A + B + C TOGETHER = actual spending amount.
    7. FIGURE OUT (ACTUAL) NET INCOME: Not gross. Everything you brought in POST taxes and deductions, etc. Money going to your bank every month.

GOAL: Your goals with this number is to make sure it’s bigger than spending. That’s it. That’s the secret.
It’s that simple. Don’t overcomplicate things.

  • Good advice, but everyone is different my cheat days turn to cheat weeks lol so I tend to stay away from cheat days but I do allow myself to cook healthy alternatives to my favourite junk foods and it works every time.

  • I love your point about celebrating your meal (and your control over your meal). So often we eat to feel better, only to feel crappy about our food choices. Embracing the meal as a pleasurable experience that stays with you until your next meal is key!

  • Am I the only one that finds “saving money” as exciting?
Haha thanks Clark for all your videos. I love watching and learning from you!

  • Can you do a video on how to find a business niche and how to evaluate the market before starting any business? Thanks in advance!

  • your explanation of topic is ways high level of understanding and really helps to get answer right while practicing question. I follow all your videos, its really great. Hope to see child health topic too in You Tube. Thank you too much Mike.

  • I’m so excited that you’re doing this series. I write a personal finance blog and am going to share this video on my Facebook page.

  • I been counting calories for 2 months and managed to go from 240 to 225. I went out to eat with my mum at a China Buffet and had a field day. The Calorie King website said my current calorie range is between 1700 and 1900 but I’m sure I ate more than my calorie allotment that day and felt kinda bad about it so I only drank liquids the following day to help offset it.

  • Become vegan
    1 coconut oil
    2 high carb, low fat
    3 organic food,
    4 less processed foods
    5 plant bases diet
    6 yeap…more fruit
    7 exercitar and support system

  • hey Joanna i had my cheat meal today. did an hour work out before then cooked a burger (1/2 lb of patty, 3 slices of turkey bacon and 2 pcs low carb 3grams net carbs wheat tortilla) 10 pcs of sweet potato fries and 1/2 a cup of sticky white rice with coconut milk and half a can of diet soda. is this safe? or i need to cut calories still?

  • Watched the documentary “Eating you Alive” and i am convinced to start the plant based diet. But i admit its overwhelming in knowing what to buy and what to eat at the very beginning. Came across this particular video this evening and your advice is exactly what I’m going to do… I’m just gonna dive in and go from there starting my first meal in the morning. Thank you!!!!!!

  • Hey Joanna, I love your videos! I’ve been watching them on and off for several months. I’ll tell you a litle bit about my story, followed by a couple of questions: So, I started my “journey” over a year ago after having two kids and lost about 40lbs. in the process (including all the baby fat and then some). I eat MUCH healthier than I used to and I exercise regularly as well (before changing my habits I ate way too much junk food and not enough healthy food especially vegetables and I didn’t exercise consistently), but my weakness is learning how to have control over myself when I do indulge.

So here’s my first question which could probably apply to the second question: Do you have a video on that I somehow missed, or could you make a video on, how to gain control over oneself when indulging on your “cheat meal”? Seriously though, almost everything else about the way I eat is just about perfect. I drink TONS of water every day (almost always more than 100oz/day), I eat protein/carb balanced meals 6x/day, including about 6 servings of vegetables and 2 fruit servings/day), I eat whole grains rather than processed/white grain, but I falter when it comes to indulging (particularly sweets). I go overboard almost every time. It’s like once I start, I can’t stop like an addiction. Even though I know my body doesn’t feel as good when eating unhealthy foods, I still can’t help but want to have more. Often times it seems easier to not have any in the first place than to say I’ll have a little. I don’t want to feel restricted, but I don’t want to lose control every time I indulge either. Any suggestions?

My second question:  I would love to learn more about how to have a healthy pregnancy (particularly how to keep motivated during pregnancy so I can meet my health goals). I plan on having more kids in the future, but I’m afraid of ruining all my efforts in living healthily. Not just with gaining too much weight, but also falling out of my healthy habits. I gained about 45-50lbs. in both pregnancies and I ate terribly then. My body felt terrible not living as healthily during my first two pregnancies and I don’t want to repeat that. I know I’ll do/feel much better next time around, assuming I keep up my healthy habits, but I’m afraid of losing the motivation to exercise and cook healthy meals due to fatigue. I’m also afraid of not doing as well with my workouts b/c right now I usually do HIIT workouts about 3x/week, and I fear that as I go further along my pregnancy I won’t be able to do some of the exercises and I’ll be at a loss as to what exercises I can stick with for the rest of the pregnancy. I just don’t want to gain so much like I did in the past, and, like I said, fall out of my healthy habits. I hope these questions make sense.:) Let me know if I need to clarify anything. Thanks so much for all your helpful and informative videos!:)

  • Thank you so much for this video. I woke up feeling guilty on my cheat day and I hadn’t even eaten anything yet. I’ve been on my weight loss journey for about 7 weeks now and I know that if I want this to be a lifestyle change then I must give in to my guilty pleasures every once in a while for me to stay on track.

  • Hi!
I was wondering, i am wokrking out for a year and i am 13, but i lost my period.. Is it bad thing, or should i do less exercise?
Please anwer, it will mean a lot.
    P.S. i dont eat meat!

  • I have power band HIIT workouts 3 times a week, you have to stock your home with healthy ingredients, get rid of the high carb junk, its all sugar..not good, You need fish, chicken, grass fed beef, Olive oil and Avocado oil, nuts, and green tea, and really great herbs and spices. Plus you can sprout greens as well. It is not Rocket Science…and in 2 weeks i lost almost 9lbs, I am stoked!

  • Great video. I appreciate how you apply the knowledge you learn from books unlike most people sometimes including me. I can tell you’ve read rich dad poor dad, and unshakeable

  • Great advice Clark!
Rule of thumb: If you don’t have 100k saved by age 25, your doing something wrong. Work out how much you have to save every year and just do it. No excuses

  • Can we maintain our weight loss while doing intermittent fasting and still lose weight by this I mean say I need 2000 calories a day to not lose or gain weight will doing at least 16:8 fasting that goes to say 24 hour fasts every once in a while when I don’t find myself hungry or needing it basically if I eat maintenance calories while intermittent fasting will IF still allow me to lose weight because of its benefits and my body using fat as energy to feed itself until I break my fast with food? Thank you

  • Clark,

I don’t fit your demographic but love your stuff. I send your videos to my 2 sons who do fit your demographic. Thanks for your information.

  • the last cheat meal i had is 1 year ago, it’s because i don’t really like eating food that much? if that makes sense. but TODAY i’m going to have one

  • Hey, Joanna! I have a quick question.
So, I come from a family of really big eaters, for lack of a better term. Basically, we all tend to eat a lot during a meal. Portion control is something I seem to be really struggling with. What we eat isn’t necessarily bad, per se, but I’m certainly ingesting a lot of calories, probably moreso than I need. Trying to eat smaller meals is a real challenge for me, because my stomach has been trained to desire large amounts of food, and every time I eat a smaller portion than what I’m used to, I still feel hungry and I’m tempted to keep eating! Do you have any tips for how to retrain my stomach, so to speak, so that I can adjust to eating smaller portions and still feeling satisfied rather than gorging myself? Thanks in advance, if you respond!

  • You should know your channel has saved my life. I am on a journey to loose 100 pounds. And I plan to work out with you every day. Thank you so much for your unselfish dedication to fitness and to ordiary people like me.

  • Miss Joanna can I ask because I ate something very unhealthy its like I ate too much its like from 73.6 and turned out to be 74kg tonight is it hard to burn that and what method of exercise should I use to burn it fast

  • If you go on a 7 day fast, would you still be following the same schedule you had when eating regular meals ( 2 or 1 per day) or just go by 3 meals ( breakfast, lunch, dinner) but with just liquids?

  • Im trying to lose another 100lb any preworkout you reccomend i only take sport flavor drops from MIO i need something for soreness after workout too preworkout needed btw?? Wait do these drops break my fast????‍♀️‍♀️‍♀️

  • Hi Joanna you probably will not see this but I just want to say a big thank you for all your videos. last year July 2014, I started following your advice on my food intake and exercise. I followed your 15 mins total body workout and the 20 mins cardio work out. I am 5″2. I was 164lbs and now i am 133lbs. Although I am still on my journey, I have lost 30 lbs and gone down two sizes from uk 14 to uk 10 and all my friends and family commend my effort. I just want to thank you because you have been a big part of my success. you give the kind of advice celebrities pay thousand for, all for free! and you do so in an encouraging manner that allows a person to feel that they can actually do it. I pray that God rewards you for all your kindness.
    Thank you

  • Hi Carlo I need your assistance. My ancestors are Anglo Saxon and I have inherited their large heads. How do I lose head weight? If this isn’t possible, how do I strengthen my neck so it can comfortable carry my head weight. Also can you recommend any small-headed ethnicities that I can breed with so my offspring can live a normal life? Ethnicities that don’t sass back are preferable. Thanks in advance.

  • Would it be possible to come and be your client for two weeks for a fasting and fitness start up? I’m 320 lbs and desperate for a start up programme

  • I love your videos!!! Thanks for all of them!! one question, you suggested 1 cheat meal for begginers per weekand then twice per week, and when we manage to have a healthier life style what would you suggest? 1 cheat meal per month?

  • Cheat meals are vital. You need to take a break from the diet from time to time. That’s why diets fail. People feel too deprived of real food and as a result, they quit. Once a week, eat whatever you want. Then get back on track.

  • Seriously i just love you videos, your way of speak always put me in a good mental Health like nobody else. And all I want to say is Thank you, thank you for create quality content & share your knowledge that is good for people.
    love & support from Bolivia.

  • I love watching your videos and listening to your tips because you view dieting and healthy eating from a very different perspective. Healthy eating and dieting should be a personal choice and adapted to fit the lifestyle chosen and set by every individual. Cheat days included because at the end of the day we are all human. Would love to check out some of your videos on hormonal balance. Any available? I’ve been suffering the symptoms for the past two years and no doctor’s advise or natural supplements seems to be helping.

  • I love Ramen!! I’m well off and could eat any I want but I just love Ramen. Reminds me of childhood I guess. But boy is it a sodium bomb!!!

  • So frustrating… on YouTube, we find so much “evidence” that the “best weight loss diet” is Plant-Based, but wait, Ketogenic, but then, Vegan-Ketogenic!!! All have numerous advocates and medical doctors pumping out videos claiming each diet is the best. Can they each be right?

  • Hey Clark, thank you for making these videos, they truly are educational and a great motivation! Unfortunately, I cannot use the Qapital app since I live in Germany, could you recommend an equivalent alternative?
Thank you so much in advance, keep up your great work!

  • When doing IF, if you dont feel like hitting the gym you need to start stretching out, warming up and lubricate the muscles. If after that, you feel like lifting, go for it, if not just do some core and pull ups. Works great for me.

  • This is so weird i was JUST beating myself up for eating something that is supposed to be “forbidden” (my mom worked hard to make it and i didn’t want to be mean and not eat any) i didn’t overindulge but i still felt very guilty, i was asking myself “did i just ruin everything I’ve been working for?”, but then out of no where while watching your workout videos i stumbled upon this video and it helped me feel better by a lot, so thanks Joanna! I Love everything you post!

  • I gorgeous, I really need your advice, I was doing really well lately, eating healthy and exercising, just for clarification, I’m really happy with my body, anyways, I have an injury around my shoulder, so no lifting weights or anything upper body, I got so frustrated with the idea of not working out the way I usually do, because for me, working out and eating healthy walk together, so I ate a lot of junk, like chocolate binge and cookies, pretty close to 3000 calories, my issue beyond the guilt of all this junk is, how to keep eating healthy and keep or even loose some weight, without my usual workout routine?and how not to get frustrated and fall back in bad habits with junk food and sugar? Thanks and sorry for my rambling….

  • My favorite quotes “A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips” “It took time to gain weight, so it will take time to get rid of it” ” Never STOP, Keep moving!

  • Thank you I needed this… I’ve been a pescatarian for almost 2 years and have been going back and forth, doing research upon research about plant based lifestyle and still nothing. So I will JUST START!! That’s my new mantra.
    THANKS AGAIN, you’re the best.
