  • Sleep right, practise intermittent, or better still prolonged fasting, safe weight-training and elimination of all carbs, that would do it, right? Or am I missing something?

  • Get 7 hours sleep per night…..trying working 3 shifts and telling your body clock to sleep for 7 hrs.this only works for 9 to 5 workers…or anyone who works 1 shift pattern…

  • By doing intermittent fasting one can loose more than 10 kgs of weight not only 2-3 kgs… for the matter of promotion she says so that it works only for 2-3 kg weight loss so that one can enroll in her diet program (of course paid one ) we have more genuine people who suggest (tried and tested ) intermittent fasting for long time goals… good luck

  • The only thing I changed was quality of food. Stay away from processed food. White flour, corn, sugar and soy are killers. Eat fresh and stop eating so damn much. I’ve dropped 30 pounds.

  • 7 hours of sleep a night?! I would need to stay up for at least 24 hours to come close to that. Not possible for some of us out there. But I appreciate the other tips.

  • In late 50s… beer belly… hard to get rid of, been athletic all my life, it’s how we eat, we like to eat, pizza, burgers, fries, pasty’s, huge portions the food has to go somewhere, belly bloats, excess fat from huge meals, creates a hard thick layer over the belly keeping it extended out in front of us, it’s everywhere. Till you lose that thick belly fat the stomach will not shrink, the tried and true method is practically starvation, but that’s not a fun method so we slowly, change diet, light exercise, snails pace of improvement. There is the women side of this is they treat that fat as fascia, it’s a method of message to break up that tissue, and hopefully flush it out with water, same as when you get a message, they tell you to drink plenty of water.
Interested to see if anyone has taken the later approach to losing that 1-2 inches of thick fat in their bellies.

  • What does a guy do who works at night 11pm-7:30am five days a week? I try to get in bed by 9, but will only sleep until 3-4. Then additional nap at 8-10 before I go in. I work at a desk all night, but drink only water and Green tea. I’ve gained 25-30 since starting this work schedule a year & 1/2 ago. I try eating right and on my off days I go back to normal sleep hours if possible. I’ve tried everything and know my sleep and hours are the problem. Now I am thinking an HCG diet plan. If that doesn’t work I lost hope.

  • I’m 50..I’m cycling n weights fit…2 meals a day low carbs no breakfast…I have a six pack…works for me and yes..lots more water

  • Great Video, At last a weight loss and health program video that is just common sense and not full of money making gimmicks. Well done.

  • WHY? The beautiful girls I meet at the bars and KTV………always LOOK at my stomach first before they get to really know me. Stage 2 is they put their pretty dainty hands on my stomach, and ask if I have a baby in there……routine in the 10 years.

  • I am 65, 5′ 5″, 60kg. I never lost weight, hardly gain any since my 20s. I eat because I need to and only when I have to. I eat whatever I like not what people tell me what to eat.

  • Very good video, however you did not mention Magnesium, the miracle mineral. Magnesium stabilizes insulin levels, helps shed weight, improves quality of sleep and reduces stress. I would advise everyone it research the benefits of this mineral and consider it as a daily supplement.

  • So i have chronic fatigue. brought on by a severe tbi as a child. i have always had it. i just went 2 months without coffee i literally could not function. i drink lots of water in summer not as much in winter. i have a bad case of sleep apnea also. even if i get 7-8 hrs of sleep im never rested ever. i could go right back to bed.

  • “Sleep” One of the most important things you can do for yourself. Try going to bed at the same time every night and getting up at the same time every day. Eventually, you will feel the benefits. It may take several months but, you will fell much younger and have more energy.

  • I am 76. Am I too old for the program? I have lost over 50 lbs thru intermittent fasting and go to the gym 5 days a week. I primarily do the sauna, light lifting and some aerobics.

  • Hmmm…I’m 52 drink lots of water, sleep 7 hours, walk 13k-15k steps every day and lose nothing. If I don’t starve myself, nothing happens

  • Really like the overall concept. But the hydration formula is just too much. At 200 lbs (91 kg) you’re supposed to drink one gallon (3.8 L) per day. This is alright if you do a fair amount of physical labour on a hot day, but with an office job and in cool to war climate about half of that (1/2 gallon or ca. 2 L) is perfectly sufficient. And you can add coffee to that amount. It’s been proven at least ten years ago that while coffee might stimulate strangury, it still contributes to hydration after it was believed to do the opposite before. So with two cups of coffee and seven glasses of water per day you should be good to go.

  • Wrong about water. Yes, have enough water to not be thirsty, but fat-production requires vast quantities of water. Dehydration is not a good method of preventing fat-production, but excess water only leads to more fat being produced than would otherwise. Look it up. In order for the body to turn carbs into fat, water is required. And lots of it. 52 H2O’s to make a single fat molecule. Here’s the equation: C55 H104 O6 + 78 O2 = 55 CO2 + 52 H2O It’s a big part of why diabetics are so thirsty. Body needs copious water to convert sugar out of the bloodstream and into fat cells.

  • Good video, good common sense, And attainable for most men. Too often, people start the schedules that are just not practical for them or they can’t keep up with. You have covered the best basics one can hope for, now probably the most important thing for anyone is to keep dedicated. Personally, psychologically, I always try to tell myself every day, it’s just like brushing my teeth, something I just do every day, and it seems a reasonable request of myself every day.

  • When should a thyroid patient should have medicine in intermittent fasting if having lunch at 2 pm when should have thyroid medicine plzz reply

  • I would so love if someone would come up with a routine or strategy for Pilots & Cabin Crew having to cross multi time zones working through the night, early starts & late finishes.

  • Love these dudes who think the world runs 9-5.
I wake up at 4am, work a 13 hour shift, get lunch at 2pm, go home at 7pm. Normally don’t get to bed before 10.

  • Wish I could give and get a hug after running this with you.. I have so many areas of thinking “I am not allowed”, I do not know where to start first. I was told I was not allowed and I believed that until I had a PTSD problem and got prof help. I still often feel two dimensional from my past abuse and caregiving desperately ill family for so long. I see I have somewhere in my recent journey given up hope to be happy and safe. I see perhaps giving myself permission will cut down on the disconnect and hopefully the mental warfare. Giving myself permission to feel,to react, and to take responsibility to heal is huge. To say to myself “I am allowed” will be very helpful.
I am sorry for your losses,Pahla. I have had grown children come home and continue to deal with the Crohns and diabetes that have almost killed two of my kids. I am grateful you are using your own griefs to help us mentally and physically. Sorry for the book. I am amazed at your story and blessed you shared. Thank you, PahlaPaula with a u.

  • I’ve started using a Whoop band to track recovery and am very happy with it, even though it is subscription based, it’s working for me.

Am also having success with a topical testosterone prescription.

  • I grew up doing farm work and heavy labor and lifting weights and sports so I could eat whatever the hell I wanted. I’m one of the worst that trying to figure out how to live off far fewer calories and eating healthier food which tastes like ass. I’m still struggling with this dilemma. The one thing I can say they are 100% right about lifestyle changes.

I would recommend people look into intermittent fasting and only having two meals a day and maybe using smoothie or yogurts with nuts and seeds as an in-between snack if needed. To avoid overeating have fiber and protein powder with milk or yogurt and make yourself a smoothie prior to both daily meals. And drink this at least 15 or 20 minutes before you eat so you will feel more full and satisfied and not shovel a gallon of spaghetti down your gullet.

Instead of having that big bowl of spaghetti or that large pizza get the smoothie ahead of time make sure you add nuts and seeds and yogurt with plenty of proteins and good fats and fiber these will help you feel more full so you are less likely to over eat carbs. And it wouldn’t hurt to just drink down a good healthy 8 oz glass of water to go with it to feel even more full.

I’m not somebody who can just eat five pounds of red meat everyday so it’s really hard to compensate to avoid carbs. But for those that struggle I really think that is the best approach to reduce yourself to two meals a day with the intermittent fasting (16-19 hours between last and first meal overnight) and exercise before your first meal so you are burning pure fat and not the glucose in your system. if you eat a bunch of sugars or carbs and then exercise you are only going to burn those sugars and carbs and no fat.

if you are as stubborn as I am you really have to force yourself to do this and make it a habit which I admit I’m still struggling to do because I’m stubborn as can be and I’m really not afraid to die so I don’t really have much motivation to give a crap. however going blind and having your feet and hands amputated is good motivation or a stroke that leaves you with the mentality of a 4 year old and maybe with limited physical motor skills and I have seen people like that.

  • Dr. A is the first guy to actually speak to someone my age (50+) with no bullshit. Sleep is so critical to weight loss for guys my age. My doctor told me over a decade ago when I turned 40 that I needed to get eight hours of sleep and if I could not get eight, to get seven. I intend to sign up for the program, because I believe that it will easily fit into my busy life. Thank you so much, Dr.!

  • Joined FFP after Thanksgiving of 2018 weighing 218 lbs. Fairly quickly I lost 45 lbs probably within 6 months which included a diet and exercise plan. Now, I just stick to the diet plan and have stayed around 185 lbs. Hate to call it a diet, it’s just a life style change, enjoy what I eat and feel better.

  • Ive tried so hard to loose weight, none of it works, and I then found something very interesting, I am not overweight, I am just too short for my weight, so I am going to grow an extra 2 foot, and I will be the correct hight for my weight. I will then be 7ft 10inces tall

  • Sir, you say your name is Doctor.
I think you really honor your name.
Great Tips! And you know how to talk to people.
Keep doing the good work Mr.Doctor.

  • Hi Dr Anthorny, thank you for putting out all the information here, I have learned a ton! I have a question about drinking warm LEMON water first thing in the morning, is the lemon are the really important part or it is more about just having any kind of water is just as good as using the lemon?

  • This still surprise me, just how many people are not aware about Custokebon Secrets, although lots of people get great result with it. Thanks to my friend who told me about Custokebon Secrets, I have lost tons of weight with it without starving myself.

  • I am so sorry for the loss of your sister. I lost my Mum and my Nan earlier in the year. I had just started a new job. Then Covid happened. It has been a tough year. But strangely enough, where I would usually turn to alcohol to cope, I actually started a fitness journey. Not straight away. There was a lot of drinking and even more weight gain, for about 3 months. And then my brother started his fitness journey and he would send me video links and we would share different workouts (yours and a couple of others). And it helped me feel like I had some control and focus on where I was going. But anyways, initially the weight came off quite quickly. But the last month it has slowed down, and gone up a lb here and down a lb there. And I was getting frustrated and thinking well maybe this is what my body wants to be. Which in all honesty, I am back at my regular weight (but still overweight) so I realise now, from this and a few of your other podcasts your body likes what it likes, but if calories in is less than calories out I will eventually lose weight. Also, just wanted to say that I love how open and honest you are about your health, your mind and your body. I love how in all your workouts you encourage eating, refueling, hydration, you don’t push fad diets, you don’t say that we will lose this amount of weight, you don’t tell us how many calories we should be eating to lose weight. I also started crying with you when you started crying. It’s hard. Grief is hard but yes you are allowed to be happy.

  • Started indoor running with you couple weeks ago and really enjoy it. You are boosting my mood! Feeling much better and motivated after running. Unfortunately no weight loss yet but not giving up!

  • Gosh Pahla this story is sounding slightly familiar: life stresses, lost my mom, in a new position at work, feeling like I didn’t know where I should be at 49. Etc. I’m finally getting a different life, it’s not exactly the same but it’s starting to feel good. I’m down 9 pounds now. And I have more to lose but I’m doing it slowly and I appreciate it in a way I haven’t experienced it before. Part of the game changer was finding your videos. You are doing something pretty amazing out here for women.

  • I recently found your podcasts and find them perfect for my treadmill runs, as well as very informative and inspirational. Thank you!

  • Thank you so MUCH for baring this much if your soul to help others. This type of honest encouragement is why I follow you. You’re real and you make it feel like we can do it too!

  • I listened to this on a podcast platform. It was so interesting and thoughtful. The part where u talked about working through the thought/belief that u might not be able to be happy again, and how u challenged that and changed that belief was v. well explained and helpful to me. Thank u.

  • My sister (who just completed her chemo and radiation) has a step daughter Vickie (yes), who as of last week was in hospice. I visited my sister last week, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the stories that you had written about your sister. So similar, and so heartbreaking. It’s hard to be happy when the world is so brutal. And it definitely effects us physically

  • Just finished this workout, I’m sweating a lot. Thank you for sharing. I’m 58 and going through menopause was hell. I had a period for a year and 6 months. I had surgery to stop it. They burned my uterus and the bleeding stopped. 4 yrs no more periods. Don’t miss it at all. Happy me, but now my stomach is big and now I have to do something about it. So thanks for the information. I know what to do now.

  • No running for me, bad knee. But I need to lose or my other knee will be next. Need strength and weight loss. So happy I found this. 56 and menopause weight gain was horrible. About 5 lbs a year for the last 5 years.  I did one of your low impact at work today. So this is my start!!!!

  • Just finished this one. This brought up a lot for me. I’ll just mention one grief. When you talked about losing your sister… I recalled how I had just reached my weight-loss goal (at the time) when my mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away not long afterwards. I gained a lot of the weight back subsequently and eventually had to start the process again. And the process felt so much different that time. Didn’t really put the pieces together of why it was different. And why it felt different when I reached that goal again. You mentioned that you might do a podcast about grief in the future. That might be difficult for you to devote a whole podcast to talking about that experience, just as it might be difficult for some of us to listen to, but might be beneficial at the same time.
