The Key to Burning Fat

The researchers found that, despite similar ratings of perceived exertion, blood lactic acid, and carbohydrate burning rates, the well-trained runners performed much better on the workout (no surprises there!) but also had a nearly threefold higher rate in fat oxidation! So not only were they burning more calories overall, but they were burning an enormously higher percentage of those calories as fat. If you only burn 20% of your calories from fat, but you burn 600 calories total, you’re burning six times the calories and 33% more fat.

So, yes, you can train your body to burn “more” fat — but “more” is misleading and can actually backfire for those trying to lose weight. All you have to do to access this great reserve of fuel is train your body to burn fat more efficiently— and it’s easier than you think. You don’t need to. Is it actually possible to program your body to burn more body fat? We explore how to train Your Body To Burn Fat.

One of the most significant processes that occurs during a successful diet plan is triggering the mechanisms in your body to burn fat for energy instead of protein (or muscle). While your body can burn either fuel, it is far better off burning fat. Fat is the body’s fuel of choice. Fat, not sugar, is our most inexhaustible and healthy energy resource.” One of our main objectives at PEERtrainer is to help people find ways to increase their energy levels. The reason for this is that your body sucks at using its fat reserves for energy!

If it was efficient at using fat for energy, you wouldn’t feel weak or light-headed you would be full of energy. You need to train your body to begin to use fat as fuel, instead of food calories. How Do You Train Your Body to Become More Efficient at Burning Fat?If you cannot talk, your oxygen intake is low and your body shifts to using carbohydrates for fuel. Measure your workout intensity level by heart rate to remain in the light to moderate range so you are guaranteed to burn fat as fuel.

Subtract your age from 220 and multiply the result by. Muscle tissue helps burn fat, so as you increase your muscle mass, you burn more calories because of an increased resting metabolic rate. Biceps.

Body recomposition is an approach to weight loss that emphasizes the importance of not only losing fat but gaining muscle at the same time. Aside from trimming fat, using body recomposition. The idea behind the low-carb or “fat-adapted” diet is simple: Get the body to burn fat, not carbs, to fuel a workout.

Typically, a fat-burning diet includes 65.

This type of resistance training tends to burn more calories, deplete glycogen (carbohydrate stored in the muscle; this is beneficial as it increases fat burning), generates a nice hormonal response in terms of fat mobilization and may create a larger caloric burn after the exercise is done.

  • Points to meat as a good day burner but doesn’t aknowledge it’s negative effects on the body such as inflammation, cholesterol and tightening of the arteries. Also white meat is a class 2 Carcinogen. One class below red meat and Cigarettes

  • Do natural popular fat burn method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? We’ve noticed many awesome things about this popular weight loss diet plan.

  • If I want my abs to appear and I only eat proteins and veggies do I still need to burn more calories than I receive? When you burn calories, you mostly burn fat, right? I don’t get the analogy when I don’t wanna lose muscle but just fat…

  • I read lots of great reviews on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can help you lost tons of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular weight loss methods?

  • Guys. lost a lot of weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice now. Get a popular weight loss method called Custokebon Secrets (google it). Thanks to it I’ve lost crazy amounts of fat. I probably should not even be speaking about it cause I do not really want a lot of other guys out there running the same game but whatever. I’m just simply in a great mood today and so I will share the wealth haha.

  • If you wish to slim down, it is best to search Custokebon Secrets on the google search engine. They’ll help you get the body you need.

  • Empty-stomached…I feel nauseous with food on my stomach. But I do try to drink a protein shake or at least a glass of milk afterward to help with muscle recovery.

  • Avocado is life. Almond butter is life. This is it. I don’t care about any diet advice as long as I can eat all these things in abundance. HAAHAHAH

  • I read many people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets. But Im uncertain if it’s good. Have you ever tried using this popular lose weight methods?

  • You know what’s sad? I bought a treadmill during this Corona pandemic to start sprinting. The treadmill has speed limits to the extent of my jog state only. Waste of money

  • Anyone tried the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard some awesome things about it and my cousin lost crazy amounts of weight with Custokebon Secrets (do a google search).

  • Hey! Thank you for this helpful video. By the way, I notice lots of people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets (just google search it), but I’m not sure if it’s good. Have you considered Custokebon Secrets? I have heard several amazing things about it and my sister lost a lot of weight with it, but she refuses to tell me:(

  • I suffer with migraines, I get at least one a week, probably closer to every other day. The doctors have said that exercise helps with this but whenever I work out even if for only ten minutes, it gives me a really bad headache. I was told that it was due to dehydration but I’ve been really conscious of my water intake and I don’t think that it is the issue. I don’t know what to do I want to be active and healthy but I get so dizzy and migraine-y after a workout it’s really difficult. I’m on beta-blockers which lower heart rate and blood pressure, could this make a difference? @jessicasmithtv  Please help, I feel completely helpless!

  • It’s still surprise me just how a number of people have no idea about Custokebon Secrets (google search it) even though a lot of people lost crazy amounts of weight using it. Thanks to my friend who told me about it. I’ve lost a ton of weight.

  • Great little article I found. I never knew burning fat could be so easy! Truth or Myth? https://my.mycoollinks.com/view/fatlossp2p

  • Diet Plan called Custokebon Secrets kept appearing here on different videos and I thought they were scam. However after my cousin follow it, and finally lost a lot of weight with it without starving herself. I’m persuaded. Do not take my own word for it, search for Custokebon Secrets on the google search engine.

  • People need to hear more about this, too much “far burning workout GUARANTEED” recently, the internet is buzzing with a lot pseudoscience.
    Cheers!

  • As specialist, I think Custokebon Secrets is good way to lost tons of weight. Why not give it a shot? perhaps it’s going to work for you too.

  • What is the best way to lost lots of fat? I read many great reviews on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets will help you lost tons of weight. Has any one tried this popular weight loss diet plan?

  • Has anyone tried Custokebon Secrets? (do a search on google) We have heard several awesome things about this popular lose weight method.

  • I always have pre workout suplements before the workout. Does it mean its not burning the fats to energy because the body get the energy from supplements? Thanks for reply:)

  • does anyone know if cheese is considered good or bad for weight loss, it keeps me full and satisfied but i dont know if it helps the body burn fat or makes it gain it.

  • Thank you for this video. I just download this free Ebook at @t. It’s mind-blowing how to lose weight and build muscle at the same time.

  • It’s simple eat two good meals a day that are healthy and eat your almonds and salads in between and be active make it a habit and just watch after a month you’ll be surprised

  • What if your type 1 diabetic insulin dependent and dose insulin even if you’re not dosing for carbs or even food just dosing for hormones and to regulate blood sugar?

  • All right, i agree about low carbs diet, but, tath is only the half part of the explanation how to switch on fat burnings process in the body by training people!!! Because by such low carbs diet if the exercises are in anaerobic regime the body will not use fat as fuel, bcos anaerobic process need more powerfull fuell than fat is, by anaerobic process the body will use carbs as fuel, but, trough low carbs diet carbs fuel will be not enough as quantity, then the body switch on to burn proteins(muscle) as fuel. So, you must explane us the other half of the explanation how to switch on the aerobical biochemical process to use the fat as fuel. Exercises, sets, duration of set, heavy or lightweights, or without weights, please. This low carbs diet + aerobical biochemical process can be a good combination. Thank you in advance.

  • Ive been in fitness most of my life. Im now 59, postpause and boy have things changed. I cant eat or exercise the way i use to, man i miss my body lol So ive been power walking, lean Quinine veg fruit etc, but goodness you cant hardly tell a difference! So went back to lifting weights, burned some body fat but it quickly stops! Grrrrrr its like, i didnt sign up for this lady!! Lol so im going to listen to this again and i will say this, i was a consultant for JC, yes its full of perserves, clients skin turned grey after awaile and they graved beef and were very afraid to get off the plan. Its way to expensive, just thought id throw that in for free lol

  • What if your type 1 diabetic? I am on a basal insulin that lasts 24 hours and cant not take it, so would I have a chance to be in fat burning mode?

  • 8 pounds in 5 days that is 35000 calories burned above maintenance did your wife run 7 marathons that week? Or did she lose a lot of waterweight…glycogen and some bellyfat 😉

  • Anyone tested out the Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google)? We’ve noticed numerous awesome things about this popular diet plan program.

  • Does anyone else see the tub of buttered popcorn laying on its side?!
Speaking of which, I remember when I thought movie theatre popcorn was horrible for me because of all that butter. Now, I know that the butter was ok, it is the corn, high in carbs and super-high glycemic, that was the bad guy.

  • Your wife lost 5 lbs in one week. Was it fat or water weight. For every gram of carbs or carboHYDRATE HYDRATE being water, your body will retain 2 grams of water. So for the first few weeks of weight lost is actually water.

  • What about diet drinks? I have a habit of drinking a monster ultra zero each morning (hate coffee)…its obviously loaded with artifical sweeteners despite the no sugar claim. the lable only claims two net carbs, but that soundes to good to be true. Can i continue my habit and still have success?

  • if I do keto diet and intermittent fasting 16/8 for 6 days a week and only 1 day per week I have the cheat day, do I reverse diabetes? Will I still lose fat and improve my health? I am not overweight but have belly fat and insulin resistance

  • I definitely belong to the second group. If I work out without eating beforehand I get sick (very dizzy + very nautious). Also, I have to have breakfast every single day before I do anything else. If I skip it, I always end up feeling miserable dizzy, nautious and with no energy whatsoever. Mainly this is the reason why I always schedule my workouts to the afternoon  evening hours, that works the best for me.

  • Hi How did the heart rate at point of maximum fat burning in this test compare with what Dr Maffetone recommends keeping HR at 180-age to maximize fat burning?

  • The first time your wife did this she did not burn 8 pounds of belly fat. Maybe 2 pounds max. The rest was water. Glycogen storage also holds water which is released when glycogen is depleted.

  • guys personal trainers are not part of a cult that knows all the secrets to weight loss, therye just normal dudes that know jack shit like all of us

  • Actually I’m fast and 20 hours and four hours I have dinner and a snack I’ve lost almost 80 pounds I have not lost any muscle just fat

  • Same old shit that has been said a million times before, right here on you tube…….You can’t spot reduce fat, thats bullshit, unless you get it sucked out, it comes off the belly last, because it goes on there first!!! this guy is a bullshiter, like most Americans!!

  • If someone with some time and way better math head than mine could rack up a comparison between your regular 5K jog (in say half an hour) calories burned versus same calories burned sprinting in 100m batches it would be nice.
Or any other comparable distances / times, just threw those in there.
Of course there’s the afterburn effect from HIIT style training and all that but a some kind of: “5K/30min jog is equal to 10x 100m sprints (approx 3-4 mins of running and double those times in getting back/rest for a total of 12 minutes)” would put things into a nice neat package for people.

  • A week sounds nicer, but from my own personal experience and research, 3-4 weeks is a much more realist time frame to fully recondition your body to efficiently use fat and ketones.

  • A single glycogen molecule bonds with multiple water molecules. When glycogen depletes, the water goes with it. Water has mass, weight goes down. No fat has been burned yet. Don’t lie to people grandpa.

  • What is the best way to lost a lot of weight? I read lots of good reviews on the net about how Custokebon Secrets will help you lost a ton of fat. Has any one tried using this popular weight loss method?

  • Krista, i understand that carbs or too much protein will spike insulin, i have also heard Dr. Berg say that all calories will raise insulin, but what about fat, can’t we consume a pure fat meal without breaking the fast? i suppose fat would still break autophagy because it is energy but won’t other fast benefits continue?

  • I stumbled across this and I believe this can help me. 55 year old, menopausal for 7 years now, seems like putting on 5 lbs every year since. Been following Keto for almost a year and NOTHING IS HAPPENING! Did I mess up by NO CARBING?? 1 YEAR AND NO CARBS should have done SOMETHING right?

  • Im 400 lbs and tripped in my bedroom. I went through the wall like fukin Arnie in Terminator 2…was super awkward as my neighbour was having relations with his gf who was also very obese. Long story short he called the cops but they just laughed at me and left. This was my motivation day to lose weight.

  • Pffft free report??? Maybe if you gave people the exercises and consulted for money, someone might have heard of you before. Typical money hungry sales tack. You make more by sharing not deceiving and selling their email addresses.

  • Thanks! I’ll be interested to see how low intensity helps a 40+, premenopausal woman lose weight! I have heard just the opposite. That interval training and weight training is the best way to burn fat, especially as we age. With long rests in between allowing our heart rate to drop between high intensity intervals.

  • No shit
Wife list 8 pounds of belly fat in less after not eating carbs wat bullshit
Lets try 8 pounds of water weight
    Full of shit scam

  • Hi-If you or possibly a person you truly love has got to lose excess weight, allow me to share some basic facts you need to understand:Specialists currently have recognized for over 91 years that low-calorie meal plans turn people fatter!Standard dietary plans currently have an integrated design problem: they force people to obsess about food, to make sure you inevitably quit the weight loss plan. You will want to, simply because can’t put an end to reflecting on our diet.immediately after you’re off the diet plan, you put on weight a lot easier as compared with you did right before you started off, because of the fact that your metabolism has curbed as well as the food obsessions don’t immediately subside. You’ve seen the statistics that tell you “dieters tend not to maintain their unwanted weight off 95% of the time”. • less than 1 week?    LOL   you’re blowin’ smoke.  For some it takes as long as several weeks to several months to fat adapt…    and they are not eating a high carb diet either.

  • Hi thanks for the great information! I was wondering about protein? Should you limit that while you are limiting carbs? Doesn’t that get turned into sugar?

  • oh my fucking god. she didnt loose 8 lbs of belly fat you fuck. you realize 7 pounds of that was water weight right? rule of thumb goes, the lower the calories the less carbs and sodium u hold, via less water. Youre 75 % water holy fuck. fucking pathetic thatd youd teach these people so wrongly.

  • I workout in the afternoon. I make sure that eat a little snack before I workout. If I workout on a empty stomach, my tummy starts growling and stop working out to eat. little snack will do.

  • If you decrease your carbs before working out, don’t be surprised if you’re sluggish and lightheaded afterwards. This video is ridiculous.

  • Regarding running while fasted, at 2:42 Jack says “if you were to have quite a high carbohydrate food or drink right before you did a fat max test that would suppress your body’s fat oxidation”.

  • This is keto diet to the extreme. Most avg. people do well with 150 net carbs daily to lose body fat. That’s 2 lbs/ week. The info on insulin resistance is spot on. Carb cycling is the key to lose fat safely. Just to give folks an idea of carb range. A medium banana is around 80 carbs. 25 carb limit daily is a difficult target for a beginner. Good luck and thanks for this video.

  • At 1st this sounds complicated but you do an excellent job of simplifying it! So if I exercise at 5:30 am then eat a fruit smoothie with protein at 7:30. I should be setting my body up for fat burning throughout the day? Is there an optimal amount of time between each meal throughout the day?

  • Enjoyed the video. I have been doing Keto for 4 days. Lost 7 lbs. May be water loss, etc. But I’m headed in the right direction and that’s what matters. I’m drinking water and take in small amounts of Gatorade after a workout (just joined gym and that is planned by a trainer) or working in the yard. Anyway, it’s about moving in the right direction that matters.

  • Im at 235lbs right now… and I would like to achieve some weight loss. 195lbs is my goal. I am 6′,2″ and im in the 3540 age bracket. Can this work for me?

  • This video is really vague and not actionable. Just start working out and count your calories. Give yourself a daily calorie budget. Dont overdo the exercise, make it really easy and it can become a habit. Good luck.

  • I seriously couldn`t wait to take the fat loss weight. This has provided me enjoyment. My buddy lost 10 pounds soon after this unique fat loss program. My pal has reduced 10 lbs already because of this weight loss weight. Google can help you to discover it. Program’s name is below.
    Bella Kaγozko
    good luck

  • Am I allowed to still not get it?:) I mean, the burn of fat can only occur in the absence of insulin, but for the burn you need carbs which causes high level of insulin. Let me ask by example. Let’s say I eat 6 AM eggs + bread, 12 AM meat plus green veggies, 6 PM meat plus green veggies. When do I drop the two sweet carrots I have assigned for the day?:)

  • I have already utilized this unique guide for a number of weeks already as well as the effects are fantastic. They give me lots of strength as well as curb my appetite, but I do NOT crash when they wear off which I really like, and so they don`t cause me to feel jittery. I did absolutely nothing special on my very own diet regime and I still manage to cut my excess weight to 7 lbs. Google can help you to discover it. Program’s name is at the bottom.
    Bella Kaγozko
    good luck

  • Guys, losing weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some advice right now. Look for a diet plan called Custokebon Secrets. Seriously, that course has changed my life. I probably should not even be mentioning it cause I don’t want a bunch of other folks out there running the same “game” but whatever, I’m in a good mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.

  • Eat more fat and protein. Stop eating carbohydrates, hybrid wheats, dairy and refined sugar, then you start to burn stored fat instead of just burning sugar from your blood stream.

  • Anyone tried the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard some unbelivable things about it and my cooworker lost crazy amounts of weight with Custokebon Secrets (google search it).

  • Yes… And what are you going to eat instead of carbs? Fat or protein. Fat just gonna get stored, and protein works like carbs except it needs to be converted into glycogen (glycogenesis, its included in the protein thermic effect).
So basically yeah, you can burn more fat good for you… yet you also gonna store more fat. In addition, a fat rich diet makes you more sedentary (at leat most of us athletes), and thats gonna pull down your energy expenditure.
Insulin is not a 0 or 1 system. Your body is constantly burning fat and glycogen and also generate them. Insulin is just a hormon that helps controling the amount. You can cut carbs, but no miracle going to happen.
    Peace.

  • Low carb (less than or equal to 100 carbs a day)+no more than three meals a day+intermittent fasting+exercise=successful, safe, fast fat loss.

  • When I am at school in the morning, I work out in the evening, at least 3 hours after my last meal. When I am at school in the afternoon, I work out when I wake up and then eat my breakfast. Some people say that working out in the morning is the best, but when I work out in the evening, I free all the stress from school and I sleep better.

  • Helpful little article I found. I never knew burning fat could be so easy! Truth or Myth? https://my.mycoollinks.com/view/fatlossp2p

  • Do natural popular weight loss diet plan like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? I have noticed numerous awesome things about this popular lose weight method.

  • This video has good advice, but I am confused about the best diet plan which i should work with, only because I have never taken any. Anybody tried the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard many people mention amazing things about Custokebon Secrets.

  • It’s been two mounths today since im on diet I lost 25 kg without workout a good diet is the success now I’m working out at home to build more muscles I dont want to get skinny anymore I’m in good shape thanks to the good diet and thanks to me for willing to do it

  • On morning work shifts, i often Work overtime. I finish a bit late 8pm. I have no choice but to workout with an empty stomach. Otherwise there will be no exercise for the day. I will jog n sprint on an empty stomach given that my last meal is at 6pm. My body feels just fine, no dizziness. After resting i’ll drink plain water & eat bananas & breads… & Sleep early

  • This is why intermittent fasting is the only really way to tap into your own stored fat. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months this way and still maintain this way of eating. Typical, I do a 20/4 schedule or OMAD, except on weekends I do TMAD but still fast at least 16 hours before that first meal. Happy! And healthy! That’s me!

  • How many hours of fasting for insulin to be gone in the bloodstream so we can tap into the stored energy in the fat cell storage??

  • Hi there, have you considered Custokebon Secrets yet? Simply do a google search. On there you will discover that an awesome guidelines about how exactly you can lost a lot of weight. Why not give it a chance? perhaps it can work for you too.

  • Amazing how this biological fact has been forgoten, and people to this day still think that calories in and calories out still maters somehow. Good job explaining the process, very informative. Thanks.

  • Anyone know what is Custokebon Secrets about? I hear many people lost tons of weight with Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • .short intense bursts of resistance training combined with small, frequent meals throughout the day consisting of mostly protein, some essential fats and moderate to low carbs are best for burning fat. Fasting is nonsense.

  • Anyone tried the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard many extraordinary things about it and my work buddy lost lots of weight with Custokebon Secrets (do a google search).

  • I never understand these videos. How do they explain the fact that the worlds best runners, the Kenyans and the Talahamara eat 80-90% of their calories from carbs, they eat a very high carb, mostly plant based diet, and these people are distance runners, winning marathons. If fat is so great why do these people who eat high carb diets keep winning all the time? Then there the okinowans, who eat a very high carb diet full of sweet potatoes, fruit and rice and are thin, healthy and frequently live past 100. They never mention these people. Asians who eat 80-90% of their calories from rice and vegetables are some of the thinnest people on earth. And very healthy. I still have yet to see any solid evidence that goes against what Dr John McDougall preaches. STARCH!!! humans are Starchivores, meant to eat potatoes, rice, corn, sweet potatoes, pasta, bread. Prove him wrong. Nobody has been able to yet.

  • I just feel i burn more fat when I do Exercise Before Breakfast or Empty stomach…. But i just Feel vomiting when I do more Exercise With an empty stomach… What Should i do in this…. Can any one know…. Can I Eat Something lightly before my workout..??

  • I prefer to workout on an empty stomach.  Especially if I will be doing intense cardio, HiiT, metabolic training or tabata.  I feel sluggish and nauseated if I try to eat first.  I do have to have my quart of water and coffee first though.  If I am doing weights, I can eat first, but still I am just in the habit of working out on an empty stomach and even on days I do not workout, I wait a couple of hours after rising to eat.  I am not programmed to eat first thing.  I also prefer not to eat late at night.I do have a question.  Why does it seem metabolic workouts have so many overhead presses in the mix…I feel like I am always doing an overhead press…I realize you can do squats, lunges, step ups etc with the overhead press, but I feel it is over-utilized. What can I do instead…hammer curls, front raises, lateral raises?  I guess I could do them without weights.  Am I the only one who feels this way?

  • I tried eating minimal carbs for a few days. I basically only ate meat and veggies. I was so fucking hungry all the time. I dont think your body is designed to like using its fat stores thats why, wish I could stick to it…

  • I always workout after 20 hours of fasting. Many studies confirm that working out on an empty stomach forces the body to tap into fat cells for energy when the insulin level is at its baseline.
Personally ive been doing this for about 3 months and ive lost about 20+ lbs, coulda been more but i lift weights.

  • Such a great theory!! Thanks for sharing this. People who want to loose weight also try healthy supplement which help to reduce belly fat and helps from food cravings like tetrogen which do both.

  • It doesn’t take a week. Fast a couple of days and you’ll be in fat burning mode. I do it regularly and can tell it works by the taste of ketones.

  • That ending tho

Been going to the gym and dropped all sugary drinks, lost 16lbs (185lbs to 169lbs) from April 1st to May 1st and gained considerable muscle tune, now on May 9th I’m at 167lbs, at this point I think I deserve a Popeyes fried chicken meal

  • I dont know guys.. Remember how most of us were thin when we were kids and teens? esp kids up to 80’s and 90’s. We move around a lot the whole day for entertainment. we don’t really care about food and being hungry is quite normal. maybe the mcD’s and KFC’s here and there.. but not that much. and mostly its carbs that drives us and we use them all the time. So basically its about being moderately hungry with decent amount of activities. its actually a mindset. eat when needed only. eat whatever. unless you want to build your body like models, then thats another story. These breakdown videos are just information scientifically. in real world, its just another day of normal living.

  • This is why intermitent fasting is such a huge trend nowdays. My personal advice is not to eat 4 hours before bed, and the last meal should be low calorie and low carb, no bread, no pasta, and exercise more, if you go to bed with a full stomach, there is no way to burn fat, you must be a bit hungry at 9 pm, that is a good sign that you will lose fat, but not very hungry because that is a starvation trigger.

  • Jogging sucks, I prepared for a football game (soccer for u Americans) I jogged for 2-3 weeks straight and still got tired during the game because you need to sprint! It’s very important

  • Hi Jeff,
I have some questions for you:
    1) Is is healthy to maintain a bodyfat level of 5.3% year round, year after year?
    2) Is it possible to train for maximum strength while simultaneously maintaining a bodyfat of 5.3%?
    3) Will the body be receiving sufficient carbohydrates and fat for maximum health at 5.3% bodyfat?
    4) Is a bodyfat level of 5.3% a healthy condition to maintain throughout one’s life?
    5) Is it realistic to be able to deadlift 495 pounds for three touch-and-go reps without wrist straps while maintaining a bodyfat level of 5.3%?
    Most sincerely,
    steve

  • Español porfavor, jeje, quiero empezar a hacer sprints y que mejor que el mismísimo JEFF me lo explique detalladamente.

Spanish please, hehe, I want to start doing sprints and that better than the JEFF himself explain it to me in detail

  • On my schedule I work out late and after dinner..but im now wondering the same abt eating before or after dinner??which is better??and does working out at 8 or 9ish jus too late for your metabolism??

  • Personally, I just listen to my body..if I’m hungry, I eat, workout 30 min or so later.. if not, I drink some water and start my workout…

  • I think Jeff needs to measure out that distance. No way that’s 90-120 yards he’s traveling.

This also goes against everything I have ever heard about fat burning. Actual running, and definitely sprinting, is kicking your heart rate up well above the target fat burn zone. I know Jeff knows his stuff but this I have to question.

At least in this instance I’m fortunate enough to end my five mile runs with a half mile-long steady increase in speed, culminating in a block-long sprint. I guess I have my bases covered.

  • Great video you are all great and tha guy from porsche is amazing talented explaining things. But please explain to us the 70% formula. Many ask for it in the comments below..70% of what? Max heart rate, max heart rate age, max speed 70% Thank you and subscribed of course!

  • Does the 10 minute sprints include the jog back to the starting point, or 10 minutes only of just pure sprints not counting the jog back

  • While I don’t disagree with the content I will say, I prefer slower paced cardio because it takes more time. My life is depressing and filled with emptiness and staying busy keeps me from thinking about the crushing weight of my loneliness.

  • Most exercises have a built in rest interval. The only rest interval in sprinting is when you stop sprinting. Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything in the video that I’d call sprinting.

  • I’ve just started to run on the machine at the gym an actually broke a sweat prior to my regular cardio floor exercise.it feels great.im hoping for good results.ill monitor my progress weight an ability.
    Thanks…..

  • Hey Jeff, absolutely love your YouTube tutorials!!! Will definitely be signing on or one of your programs soon. I’m 56 and use to be in great shape. I know guys say that but I really was. I was very active in all sports and regular weight training. But a couple of back and knee injuries and the responsibilities of life in general and BOOM!………not so much in great shape anymore lol. So many questions but for now primarily relating to this fat burning sprinting video. I 100% agree, these are the best! Did them when my knees were younger! If you can’t sprint anymore and/or the weather outside isn’t cooperating what’s the next best thing? Congrats on all your success and for being straightforward and educating for all in our fitness goals

  • I have tried various other methods I can’t seem to loose weight any further..So my last resort is sprinting.. I am doing 20mins in the morning everyday and 3 days Weightlifting

  • Something happened to my left calf after jumping rope a lot recently. It feels pulled or strained or something. I rested a week and jumped again but it hurts again:(

  • What if exercising outdoors is not an option? Can I do sprints of different exercises on different machines (treadmill, gym bike, rowing machine)?

  • Great video, but this won’t work for everyone. Losing weight is all about lowering the hormone insulin. Some people have higher insulin levels than others. When I started the Ketogenic diet last year and lowered my carb intake, I went from 104 kg to 95 kg, but have been stuck on that weight ever since. It seems I have stubborn high insulin levels. Recently I also try to combine intermitent fasting (or alternate day fasting water fasting) and it seems to work. Also see the videos of Butter Bob Briggs, Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Eric Berg on fasting every now and then, the perfect way to reduce your insulin levels.

  • give the man some food dam it. clearly, he is not used to fasting. I’ve been fasting 16 hours a day for past 6 months with a day off a week.

  • This is all a bit misleading.
There is no real way to “not burn carbs and burn fat instead”.
Every body works the same, you burn your glycogen store first, then your fat reserves are being attacked.
If you want to really lose your fat, you have to train long enough for your fat to be consumed.
Intensity doesn’t really matter, all intensities burn fat, it just depends how much. High intensity is obviously more output so fat burned at a quicker rate, BUT since high intensity can’t be maintained long, its not rocket science to say that going with lower intensities (say, 60-70% max output) is preferable for fat burn. All of this doesn’t take a lab to figure out. And you will obviously get fat if you eat massive meals after any workout. Truth be told if you are a serious runner you will lose weight…Because the training is rigorous and if you keep your diet strict you will lose weight. In fact anyone who burns a lot of calories throughout the day (by walking and moving for example, instead of driving a car), will be trim.

  • Thanks a lot. Very interesting. Two questions. Sticking to 70% effort is not easy. Does that actually mean you are not supposed to go beyond that and let’s say 55% is OK too? And the second, what happens if I go beyond for a short period. Let’s say I need to go over a short climb on my bike. It is not easy to stay at 70%. Does that affect fat burning after I go back to below 70%? Also, does age have an effect on this? I am after all 50. But I did climb up to Zoncolan on my bike and also finished the Extended Sellaronda circle (Dolomites) this month. Really curious about this.

  • so all we need is to find a Porsche lab to know how we burn fat. but if you train to burn too much fat instead of Carbs, you lose your explosiveness. #RichPeopleProblems

  • You are like Eric Berg. He too wants people to do some off the wall shit with specific timing and shit like that. He thinks that as long as you eat 10 cups of vegetables daily everything will work out. LOL If I eat vegetables I get diarrhea and my blood sugar goes nuts. You have the right idea about having to deplete glycogen but that is best done by intermittent fasting and/or a LCHF diet. Insulin is the master hormone, control insulin and the weight will fall off.

  • Very good video. The general government’s advice is wrong. They tell us to “EAT LESS”, but this is of not much help because what they should be telling us is “EAT LESS OFTEN.” Forget 5-6 meals and eat only 1-3 closer together so you have a nice window of no insulin in your bloodstream so your body has a chance to start burning this extra fat. Poor insulin is working too hard, just give her a break of 12-20 hrs, and your fat will start melting away. It’s called intermittent fasting.

  • biggest rubish i have ever seen to reduce carbs and increase fat if you want endurance. dont try this at home. talking from experience

  • I wish you had recruited a fat friend to see if there was a different result, maybe a larger fat burning window, maybe smaller (who knows) and to also show what 70% would look like on someone on a different fitness level.

  • this is just what’s being burned during the exercise. if you burn more carbs then post exercise you burn more fat. it all balances out

  • It’s extremely dangerous to utilise body fat as a primary energy source. Glycogen and ATP are the body’s fuel for physical activity.

  • Great video. Just one remark. Why using % of speed at which FATmax occurred. Highly imprecise. You should use HR as a training intensity marker

  • So the idea is low intensity exercise helps you better than high intensity exercise in losing fat? Can someone correct me if I’m wrong.

  • This video deserves millions of views such an amazing and truly scientific illustration of metabolic systems involvement! Beautiful!

  • Thank You for your info. I believe it would be safe to say that genetics is the only determinant in where and in what proportions fat is stored and used in adipocytes (fat cells) throughout human body..

  • So why the hell are people like Matt Delauer saying that running isn’t good for fat burning? “you don’t lose fat, you lose water weight”

  • Thank you, this is really informative and good, since a lot of people tend to claim that you burn muscle while working out in the morning… Again: thanks.:)

  • ideal in a world where willpower is actually powerful…. Most people will give up once their system screams ice cream and Twinkies.

  • 80% dieet, 20% exercise. drop all that comes out of factories and in packages or that has labels. eat less, move more,. at this moment im dropping 50lbs in weight.

  • IDK about others but the goddamned elevator NOISE(otherwise believed to be “music”) is so damned annoying.

But most people enjoy very simplistic music.

  • Good content. Confirms, in my view, that low carb is only useful if you’re racing endurance in something where you have limited access to carbs. Self supported ultras, Mountain Marathons for e.g. where you have to carry your own food. Running longer whilst carrying fewer calories and therefore having a lighter pack makes tactical sense.

  • So let me summarise what I have understood. Correct if I am wrong. So an individual can derive energy from fat when they indulge in longer but less intense workouts like a marathon or atleast a long a run. On the other hand our body uses carbs to fuel explosive or high intensity workouts which are of shorter duration in nature. Thank you.

  • Good to see that 16-17km/h is considered a fast pace for distance running coz comparing my running speed to Olympians, it looked like I needed to be running at 20km/h+ to be considered fast.

  • Never belive what “experts” say blindly. Go and educate yourself by reading different study´s.
A lot of fat burn and if you should be on high fat or high carb diet has to do with your body.
So for one a low carb is great another its not.
Get a personal test instead of following general advise because you never know what the intentions are.
Like with “RAWwhater” compleatly bogus but people just follow “Leaders” blindly biggest DANGER of this world.

  • It may certainly be true that at a lower intensity a higher percentage of the energy comes from fat, but if you want to lose fat it’s all about being in a caloric deficit. More calories burnt = more weight loss. It’s important to note that these tests only test a limited time window while for fat loss it’s more about the calorie balance at the end of the day, end of the week, whatever.

  • I think you’re looking at it wrong, sprinting and jogging are entirely different exercises. sprinting will get you better at sprinting (short bursts at near max speed), and jogging will get you better at jogging. (long distance running at a lower speed)

  • Anyone know what is Custokebon Secrets about? I hear many people lost a lot of weight with Custokebon Secrets (just google search it).

  • Guys. lost a ton of weight does not need to be hard (I used to think it did). I will give you some advice now. Look for a popular fat burn secrets called Custokebon Secrets (search on google). Thanks to it I’ve lost lots of fat. I shouldn’t even be speaking about it cause I don’t really want a lot of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I am just in a great mood today so I’ll share the wealth lol.

  • Those masks are not comfortable. Before I used one I thought it gave one oxygen but quit the opposite. It just measure the carbon dioxide exhaled. I got lucky and was in roll in a 1 year long research study at our University. They were study cardio, resistance, and combo groups. To see which was best for cardio vascular health. I got $300 bucks for going to work out for 3 days a week.

  • Thanks for the video.

Check out more scientific explanations ( which support this video) by Dr Fung MD ( kidney specialist, who got tired of seeing diabetic damage to internal organs). Dr Fung calls it “ intermittent fasting.” It appears to not only burn fat, but controls blood glucose and A1c, and has reversed type 2 diabetes. No drugs/meds.

  • Great video a lot of good info about fat vs carbs. But, why does Porsche have a human testing lab? Aren’t they an auto manufacturer?

  • So the idea is to only consume 25 grams of carbs per day for the firs week? And I’ll lose body fat… I’ve been working out everyday for the past 3 months and see NO changes I’m trying to eat healthy, I’m not eating junk, but I’m no nutrition expert and I’m not seeing any change. Sucks so bad

  • Great video! If you are running long distances at a time and per week you need to ensure your vitamin k2 intake is up to avoid calcification of your arteries caused by cardiovascular stress during long duration and intense activity.

  • I dont feel well when i excersicing on an empty stomach. I drink one cup of water to start my metablosim and then i do my work out, i let my body rest and then i have a healthy breakfast.

  • Glycogen is stored in muscles and the liver. The only time glucose is stored as fat is if you eat a ridiculous amount of glucose and the body has used all it needs, and then it might start storing it as fat, but it actually takes a lot of energy to transfer carbs in to fat. The majority of fat stored on your body is from the fat you eat. So this is bollocks. It also doesn’t explain how the body loses fat, well basically if you don’t eat enough food, your body breaks fat down to use as energy. But it’s best to aim not to get overweight in the first place. Here is a much better video on glucose storage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUVSjQVaa4g

  • When I weighed 200 lbs and got into running I was running and not much seemed to happen. When I had my last meal mid afternoon and get up the next morning and run. It was hard for about 30 days. Then I noticed my longer runs getting easier and weight started coming off.
So for training for long runs I think the not eating before produces better results. I lost 60 lbs in 7 months and my race times got better.
The December before I changed my diet I ran a 3:35 marathon and one year I ran a 3:01.55.

  • I think it depends on your bodyweight and what you are trying to accomplish. I wanted to lose my belly fat, so I was exercising and saw minimum results when I did it later in the day after I got all my calories. I started walking on an empty stomach for 4 hours straight, like 4 days a week and I seen results the next week. I think if u are trying to build muscles and dont have alot of body fat to lose, it maybe wise to get something In your system for energy, so u wont become fatigued after an early lengthy, intense, sweaty workout.

  • Hi Jessica. I have a question for your Q&A. I sometimes get muscle cramps during a workout, especially in my calves and feet during barre workouts (all the toe pointing!). Any advice how to avoid cramps or get rid of them?

  • I can’t workout without food, it leaves me without energy. Earlier today I did a short bike ride and even a minute in I could not push my legs I felt like I would throw up.

  • ya i workout on a empty stomach because that’s when i got the most energy. i get to tired after eating because i just wanna relax and chill. I might just stick with that. But kudos to those people who need to eat before a workout, i can’t do it. lol

  • I gained 5 kgs in the lockdown! Im a PT and weightlifter/Strength Athlete. I fell in love with running again and biking as a new sport. As soon as my workplace opened (i work in a gym) and stepped on the scale and it showed 100kg…..couldn’t explain it to myself first because i ran 4 times a week for the last 3 or 4 weeks before that. But it doomed on me almost instantly. There was very little other movement besides the running…..now 1 week past and i lost 3 kg already. Im doing 8 hrs of Cardio and 4 hours of full body strength per week. Im driving my bike instead of my car and i really feel the change in everything. My sleep is much better i no longer crave those delicious sweets and yeah the only thing that i can tell everybody as a PT. Just start and keep moving doesn’t matter how slow or much you do it in the beginning. You will reach you’re goal! I watched a ton of your Videos GTN and i love it. I live in Germany and im searching for a sprint triathlon for the next year! Thanks for the motivation guys! You’re the best on YT when it comes to the Topic!

  • Wow! Awesome video, you explained this way better than the articles and information pages and I usually excercise before I eat and then I have a small snack and then I have lunch and dinner… and workout in between meals

  • So basically, cut out sugar and carbs, exercise to burn stored glucose in muscle cells and have your stored fat replenish your muscle cells all while cutting out carbs.

  • I just hate working out on empty stomach or hungry. It is really hard for me to put some work, some energy into it so the workout is not even that effective.

What best works for me is eating about 1 hour before workout and then again like 1 hour after.

  • The key!!!?? The only key to burn fat is by this simple life hack lol. all of u people are looking for a solution but the solution is right here. This product helped me and my mum is reducing body fat and other stuff. Happy to help:) http://locinealy.com/4LUr

  • I went to the park this morning for wrkout on an empty stomach and drank a Redline. Bad idea..I felt nauseous and got sick, couldn’t finish as strong as I wanted. I think I’ll just have lite breakfast tomorrow and see how that works. I’m beginner, obviously lol

  • The problem about that is what type of body type you have and want like me I’m pretty average and building muscles and I tried doing that and learned that I lose more muscle so I don’t really do it anymore and it’s probably better if your trying to lose weight not build

  • it really helps me running wrkt… but if I stop I get very easily fateven more then before I started exercise I don’t know y

  • Can you please tell that cardio on empty stomach in morning will lead to lose skin? If so then how can I prevent it…please help…thanks a lot

  • I go for a 5 mile walk in my house (since my house has a literal circle that’s perfect for walking laps) and it usually takes an hour. It makes me feel really strong and then when I pick up something to eat I don’t feel guilty.

  • I am intermittent fasting 10hours then working out waiting an hour then eating. If you work out before you eat you burn your excess fat stored in your body. If you work out after you eat, you burn it will take longer to burn the excess fat you have stored because of what you recently consumed. Muscle mass does diminish, but only if you don’t eat right.

  • I have mixed it up.
for a the forst couple of weeks of starting my weight loss I ate after. now I ate before. As of right now I see more progress eating before. And I don’t wait two hours after eating, I only wait about 20 Mins. thank you for sharing I was very curious about your thoughts on this.

  • i know that under a fasted state depending on the intensity of cardio leads to how many min u should do cardio. say i havnt eatn for 7 hrs and weigh 102lbs is it ok to jump rope for 45-60min?

  • I think it depends on the duration of the workout one that last longer than 45 min or over an hour might want some fuel but otherwise there’s prob no need due to the glycogen already stored.

  • I exercise on an empty stomach, i have a green tea and water and a pre workout before gym only. The tea stops me from feeling dizzy and the pre workout keeps my energy up so i can work out for a long time. I also take creatine, which helps too.

  • Great video. Nice to see how the actual science works to come up with theories.

I was always taught that fat burning was the greatest in HR Zone 2 (60% to 70% Max) and when you get to HR Zone 3 (70% to 80% Max) (which I was always taught was aerobic zone) you start using more carb than fat because fat is metabolised slower than fat as the body can’t metabolise it fast enough.

    Is this inherently wrong then?

It seems to work for me when I am trying to lose weight. My main sport is cycling and much of it on a turbo cycle. This means a lot of my work is in the endurance side with my heart rate being in HR Zone 3 for the vast majority. I tend not to lose any weight but get fitter. If I add walking to my schedule and do say 5k walks 4/5/6 times weekly and keep my pace in HR Zone 2 I see weight loss.

Obviously weight loss is not only completed with exercise, nutrition has a huge amount of say in it.

So basically I found the video very interesting but am confused (which is easily done) in relation to weight loss of fat. Am I still right in thinking that HR Zone 2 is a good place to be for fat burning and weight loss?

  • I’m in the second time group, and need to eat before, or I get nauseous and sluggish. I workout in the morning, a half hour after I eat. I actually have more energy in the evening, but it’s hard to fit exercise in at that time. Thanks again for the great info!

  • An empty-stomach workout for me is the best. I never am too hungry in the morning so when I finish my exercise after a minimum of an hour, I look at my breakfast afterwards as a “treat” knowing I’ve done my exercise for the day and that I can from there on rest and be satisfied with myself. The rest of the day just includes staying away from junk which isn’t the easiest, but it’s not that difficult either if you put your mind to it.

  • I personally feel sick if I workout first thing before eating breakfast. I wait at least an hour after eating before I start my workout.  Love Jessica Smith’s Walk Strong 6 Week Total Transformation System. If you’re looking for a new exercise program, I highly recommend it.

  • I love watching your videos, you are so spot on the next thought, cool I get it when you tell me, and I totally agree with you on everything. Here’s the thing, you are always, always, coming from a “loosing weight” goal. What about folks that workout to maintain a healthy, fit body. This mindset is a much most positive and not slant to people that are trying to loose weight. Coming from a fitness angle what is the message? You are providing scientific, proven facts visa vie a professional of the appropriate knowledge. There is data, statistics that every one should work out and train in the different types of fitnessto be fit and hopefully live longer. Healthy physical body goal is good for all. You are the one that can motivate me and I will dismiss the angle of over weightness and focus on the topic itself. Enjoy seeing more, you are a real inspiration. Everybodyknows you can never be too rich or too thin, right?

  • I personally do not like to exercise on an empty stomach.  I have a friend who swears by it but I like to have something in me, toast with pb or a banana and some milk, something to fuel me so I’m not distracted by feeling hungry.

  • I get Hangry if I don’t eat lol a small snack or meal is a must for me b4 working out My husband On the other hand bushes teeth and off he goes to the gym.

  • I prefer a small snack before hand (30-60 minutes) so my stomach isn’t growling during the work out but I always feel full for up to 2 hours after my work out so I like doing my workout in the mid morning to help me get to lunch to help reduce the total amount of food I eat

  • I think you should run for President, to be honest. If you can whip a few million of your followers into shape, imagine what you could do for our country! ^_^

  • #QandAWed question for you: Any exercise recommendations or suggested routines for someone suffering from heel pain due to plantar fasciitis? Thank you!

  • Do I have to run at all or some other form or cardio for caloric deficit and fat loss in which plan I want to maintain my previously acquired muscles and lose fat.

  • Hello jessica! I had a question about post workout regime.after a workout what do you suggest for muscle recovery a protein shake or bar I usually just prepare a smoothie but I find myself hungry afterwards and just keep it light so what would you suggest for post workout recovery? Thank you so much jessica:-)

  • I read plenty of great opinions on the internet about how Custokebon Secrets (search on google) can help you lost tons of weight. Has anybody tried using this popular weight loss secrets?

  • Yay! QandA is back! I missed it, Jessica. I always thought of it as personal time for just you and me, you telling me some helpful information and me being able to use it:) I personally cannot eat in the mornings. I never eat breakfast, even though they say it’s important. I just can’t seem to stomach the thought of eating until lunch. However, I do know that on days where I will be doing a lot (kickboxing, HIIT or just a super busy, on-my-feet-all-day day) I eat a snack right before bed the evening before, so I’m not starving in the morning. It usually works for me…

  • Hello everyone:) I’m so happy to see this topic going on…here’s my impression: recently I have noticed that when I do my exercise earli(er) in the morning, the sweat breaks through more quickly! It was a random discovery since my schedule had not let me the time to exercise in the morning hours but this one time thing was a really positive discovery:)

  • YAY, Q&A Wednesday is back! I’m with Jessica on this one, I eat three square meals a day (with the rare treat every now and then) and do my workouts when I can fit them into my busy day. I find it hard sometimes to schedule in workouts without mucking about with when I eat, especially when having a family, I feel it more important to at together then separately. I have heard exercising on an empty stomach is better for iou and did try it but found it really wasn’t for me!!

  • Jessica looking for an answer regarding weight training. If I’m doing a workout that uses weights i.e… your 10 Minute Solution Bootcamp dvd and doing this 3 or 4 times a week. If I want to see more muscle definition do I need to do additional weight training? I also do full body push ups in my floor work 3-4 times a week.

  • I get sick if I have food in my stomach. I work out pretty early though but if I am hungry I can only eat a few select foods and in small amounts, like a handful of almonds. I have to be careful drinking during workouts too. I can only take small sips of water during workouts. Thanks Jessica!

  • Long and slow. its a marathon, not a sprint. Nothing burns fat and saves glycogen like steady state. walking or gentle cycling. That is science. walk 3 miles a day steady approx one lb of fat every 12 days or so. But the big thing is no fatigue to interfere with recovery from other things.

  • I always exercise in evenings, two hours after my meal.   Also every morning thirty minutes before breakfast I stretch my whole body. Thank you so much for the video.:)

  • I have one meal a day so I wake up, go to work (part time so just till 12) come home, drink a healthy homemade smoothie, workout, at about half 5 I have my one meal (dinner), then I go for 2 walks because I have 2 dogs and then I laze around

  • How do you answer the last “solution”? How do you control your insulin levels? You need 2500 calories per day to maintain your weight, for example if you want more muscle not weight loss. You will always be eating and thus producing insulin; and carbs are needed for muscles. Every channel has its own logic and barely a solution

  • I work a 7:30-4 job mon-fri so I was trying to get up at 4:30 to get a work out in before having to get ready for work. I would wake up, eat something light, wait 10-15 min and then workout. But, it left me with NO energy by 2pm…and with a toddler, it just wasn’t flying. So now, I wake up later, and when I get home from work, I exercise for an hour. My tot even tries to join me! I find that I am much more energized, I hit it harder, and am more controlled. And, it leaves me with energy for the remainder of the night. This is my new schedule and it works.

  • I feel so much better and more energized when I do it on an empty stomach! When I eat before I feel stuffed and feel tired faster.

  • cant believe you just said “belly fat”.. i hope you realize it’s impossible to “target spot fat-loss” Some people loose facial fat last, while either loose lower or upper ab fat last. Just sayin

  • Carbohydrates-specifically, GLUCOSE-is the only fuel the human brain uses.
And why on earth would one want to restrict the brain of anything it needs?
Perhaps it explains why it seems sexy, athletic people are dim? No glucose to fuel their brains.

  • I can’t workout in the morning until I’ve had my coffee…just isn’t going to happen.  However, once I’ve had my coffee I can’t workout because of the “sloshing” (it makes me sick)…so I just gave up, I have my coffee and then breakfast when I’m finally “awake” THEN workout.:)

  • I just have a light/low fat cheese stick and water before I work out in the morning. Mostly because I wake up hungry and I need something to fuel me until breakfast. But if I work out at night I work out before having dinner because I don’t want a whole meal on me while working out.

  • Why is it that they always talk about carbs and completely ignore fat? Complex carbs have much lover calories while fat is much more calorie dense.

  • This is working for me! I will share the link with u all:) so good fat burner: Try this and reply if its working for u:) http://www.lnk123.com/SH14Us

  • i cant workout on an empty stomach i get very dizzy.
i prefer to workout in the noon as my energy level is the most present.
early morning. workouts feel awful for me

  • I’ve found that I’m too weak to exercise before I’ve had breakfast so I exercise in the evenings when I get home from work, an hour or so after dinner

  • So,every body is indeed different..Ok,now we know!! I must have nourishment before a morning workout. I am an early riser and I have no problem with breakfast first thing…My husband,on the other hand, can fall out of bed, have a cup of coffee, (ugh,on an empty stomach! I would die..)then jump into exercise mode…Once again,a death sentence for me,not for him. This brings me to another question..I workout in gear similar to what you wear, more exposed skin.He insists on wrapping himself up like a mummy, apparently old school sweat-it-off style. I know of no one else that still uses the “sweat suit” technique. What do you think? Good, bad or,as with the eating issue, personal preference? ( He does looks kinda adorable all bundled up like that, but that info will be between, well, apparently all of us…GO BODY GO!!!

  • So happy to have Q & A back! I missed it because I always learn something new.:)
I am definitely in the first group. I have to workout first thing in the morning or it’s too hard to fit it in later once the kids all get up (no one naps anymore). And I can’t bear to eat anything first. I actually feel like it curbs my appetite and I eat less overall throughout the day. I’ve been doing this for years this way, but I used to do it the other way when my 3 oldest were small. To everything there is a season!
I have a question about Tabata and HIIT. It seems like they do overlap a lot in principle. What is the difference?
