Put some olive oil and vinegar in it and some other greens. Add some broccoli and cauliflower and you will get a ton of essential protein and fats. You heard that vegans and everybody. Broccoli is a very high protein vegetable. Cauliflower has a lot of healthy fat in it. Add some chicken too. Don’t fear the saturated fat. Saturated fat causing heart disease is pseudo science. They actually protect your heart. It’s the croutons, the pizza crust, the burger bun, the white bread, the trans fats, the fully hydrogenated oils, the processed dressings, that cause heart disease.
    Let’s talk about pizza vs salad from a metabolic standpoint. When you eat the pizza, your amylase starts to immediately break down the starch into sugars. All of that gets sent to your liver. Your liver gets a huge overload and dumps the sugar and a ton of triglycerides and ldl into your bloodstream. Your pancreas come to the rescue and dumps an antidote called insulin into your blood. The insulin shoves all of that sugar into your fat cells, and muscles. Because of this, your blood sugar drops and you become hungry again for more junk food.

    When you eat the salad, the fiber, fat and protein in the salad slow down the absorption of the already slow acting carbs. The carbs enter your liver in a very slow trickle. Your liver knows how to manage that and slowly sends it to your blood stream. What you get is a feeling of fullness and long lasting energy.

  • Hahahahaha not news to me! I’ve been eating an 80/10/10 type of diet (carbs/protein/fat) for the past 3 years. Dropped my weight from 170lbs to 125lbs. I eat mostly sweet potatoes, potatoes, rice, beans and fruit.
    Typical breakfast: baked sweet potatoes with sliced banana, berries and molasses (I LOVE molasses)
    Lunch is leftovers typically.
    Dinner: big ol pile of mashed potatoes with vegetable bean soup on top, lentil, split pea, something like that. Snacks are typically fruits. No oil or butter or milk added to the potatoes. To mash I use a little of the cooking water. I love eating this way. I feel awesome. Managed to get fit enough to run a marathon. I run 6 miles a day plus weight lift. I do not worry about protein. Repeat, do NOT worry about protein. Do you know what the medical term for protein deficiency is? Yeah. I don’t either. Wait, It’s called anorexia nervous. Lol!! The only way you can become protein deficiency is if you starve yourself. You hear about Andrew Taylor who only ate potatoes for one year and nothing else? He never suffered from any nutrition deficiency. Love this video. Thank you so much! I love to see people exposing the truth i discovered myself years ago.

Side note I came to conclusion that’s exactly why you shouldn’t start keto and then cheat by increasing protein intake with excuse your muscles need it. Your guts won’t be able to deal with it without the carbs to balance it out.

    I’m 23 years old, I’m 5’6 and I weight 139 pounds. I lift weights 5 days a week and go on daily walks.

    I recent got a dexa scan done and found that I am 30% body fat. Now I dont know if this is fat, and water combined or not but I was very shocked it was this high. So I set a goal for myself to get down to 25% body fat, as a start. Now, I am going to track my progress by getting another deja scan done in a few months and compare the results side by side but my concern is my caloric intake. I typically eat Whole Foods, but also follow ‘if it fits your Marcos’ and track daily through my fitness pal.

    Prior to my dexa scan, I was consuming 1900 calories or so. In my dexa scan. I also was able to find my metabolic basal rate which was 1450. I dropped my calories to that to make sure I’m in a good size deficit. I.E (protein: 131g, carbs: 113g, fat 58g) but I’ve been doing this for 2 months now, and I weight the same. I dont know why being I’m clearly in deficit and I’m not seeing any difference look in body in progress pictures. I dont know what to do..

  • Before you try anything different let me tell you when you change your diet there’s a chance you can get what I have reactive low blood sugar and it is a horrible sickness it takes years to reverse and it’s not worth it to lose 30 40 and 50 pounds.   • Guys. Here is a better way to explain this. He is talking about a low carb diet. Volume and Calories is different. Volume is the amount of plate space. Calories is the energy in food from fat, carbs, and protein. When he is talking about 75% volume on your plate of slow carbs, he doesn’t mean 75% calories come from slow carbs. He is just saying that is how much to put on your plate. Those slow carb foods obviously are low in calories. 25% of your plate comes from healthy high calorie foods that have fat and protein in them like meat and poultry and pork and fish. Those will all take up less volume on your plate but still be higher in calories. So this is a low carb diet technically.

  • I’ve tried all the different diets and this seems to work best for me. The low-carb diets gave me no energy in the gym. This low fat diet turns me into a monster in the gym and cranks my metabolism all the way up. I may need to do some fasting off and on to shut down the candida overgrowth from all the carbs, but low-fat vegan feels like the truth.

  • this is the type of high energy carbs you want the clean carbs from whole foods. It’s a misunderstanding as many people think of carbs from garbage foods like cupcakes, cookies, processed pasta, white rice, white bread, added sugar… all of those are horrible. Just very minimally processed foods with lots of carbs that provide A LOT of fiber and nutrients. This is very much in line with a ‘whole food’ diet. Makes perfect sense.

  • I messed up my health messed up my energy and developed hypoglycemia from from eating low carb for almost a year now I’m trying to heal my body and get my health and energy back, can I get healthy again and get my energy back if I eat a diet similar to yours of high-carb? I was eating a high carb diet before and I always felt great energetic “except for Digestive issues but I guess it was too much fiber”

  • My mother ate by recommendation and had Insulin resistance, including slow carbs, however, my mother switched to low carb….INSULIN Resistance literaly went away, the doctor told her her sugar is great.

  • You literally cant store protein as fat, your body does not convert it to fat. There was at least one 30 day study were the participants were fed lean rabbit meat, it was like 2000cal worth, the study had to be stopped halfway through because they were starving to death. Calories in/calories out is outdated science.

  • The problem is the logic, there is no such thing as an all carb diet, most vegetables and fruits and grains have proteins in them… you need proteins to functions… try eating just sugar or honey for a month.

  • I had been stuck at 67.7kg for 2weeks which was frustrating as I strength train 5days a week, get my cardio & steps in and stick to my calories/macros. I thought I had plateaued so I calculated and added a refeed day going 10% over my maintenance calories and having 340g carbs while keeping my protein the same and fats low (under 40g). The next day I was up to 67.9kg and the day after… 67.1kg! Wow what a drop! If you do this method correctly and planned it definitely works! Thanks Paul! Amazing xx

  • This guy. Blah blah blah. I lost a whopping 60 pounds on ultra low carb restrictive eating for 12 months. SIXTY fucking pounds. Incredible. The truth: My mental health suffered greatly. Felt great to get lighter, I could jump out of a sitting position felt like I was floating with less of that weight to carry, confidence boosts in the mirrorthe freedom to virtually not be hungry (Although to me this is still a little creepy). I hit a plateau (Yes it’s true it happens). Couldn’t get under 200 (Which is fine as i’m 6’4 and toned) but my mental health is terrifying. Without the blood sugar spikes, experiencing hunger, the energy carbs give you, nor bothering to do cardio and get those endorphins; I fell into this feeling of zombification, dis-associative, lack of feeling, lack of emotion, sociopathic, tired, just sort of nothingness. These feelings also coming from being fully medicated for depression by a professional. I know it sounds crazy but food is just pure joy and it does bring you energy and happiness. My only issue is portion control and knowing when to not over do it as I was a previous binge eater. But I will tell you right now low carbs is not a long term answer as it will promote mental deterioration. I think i’m just going back to food I like and being happy.

  • After passing through all the extremes I’ve started a very relaxed but aware approach. Some days high carbs, almost zero fat, some the opposite, some mixed but keep calories low. Always: fasting! My body is happy, never feel deprived of anything, lot of energy. When you eventually realize that keti, carnivore, vegan, atkins, they all have right but are all wrong, that moment is liberating. Only common denominator is eat REAL WHOLE FOOD and have frequent metabolic rest aka fasting

  • This works. I cant digest enough carbs from meals eating only so i drink juice with cane sugar in between meals. (No high fructose) i have the most energy this way and have not found s better way to eat. Sugar is the biggest taste bud and all human cells are fueled by carbs. More carbs equal more life equals more fun. Id cut the oil out and eat even more carbs. Most whole foods have enough protein and fat in them. Once your glucose stores are maxed, the extra carbs are burned off through body heat. They very very rarely get turned to fat. Keto diets get rid of water and glucose store weight. Studies show high carb diets lose more fat then high fat keto diets. Thanks for posting this video. I hope this video get lots of views and give people a different point of view.

  • Your body doesn’t like to convert carbs to fat. It’s the “fat you eat is the fat you wear” which is stored as exess while body prefers to
    burn carbs. Also, low fat diet improve mitochondrial function i.e insulin sensitivity. Low carb diets impair insulin sensitivity and are not satisfing as high carb whole foods diet.

  • Yeah back when I was sleeping 12-14 hrs a day when I was working nights I weighed 150lbs. Got older and sleep went down to 5-6 hrs of sleep now I’m at 195lbs.

  • the same principals of positive nitrogen balance can be used for fat, since we have a bare minimal daily need for protein and fat, the body has to take it from somewhere
    even if we overeat carbs, the amount of glucose being converted into fat is probably not enough to sustain the demand, the body is forced to get it from the reserves

  • The single most important thing you can eat for weight loss is a CALORIE DEFICIT.

    Everything else is just a way to trick yourself into achieving that.

    Unless you’re dealing with insulin resistance, you may need to build back up that insulin sensitivity by going low carb for a while.
