  • “no snacks” vs. “not overeat” is difficult.
    If you don’t have a full meal, you tend to need a snack 4 hours later. You have to be really satisfied without overeating not to get a hunger attack before the next meal.

That and the amount of exercise you do factors into how much food you need to eat each day.   • Dr Pls pls reply. I am 50yr old. In perfect shape and health. I was never fat or obese. I was eating everything and anything I wanted without any wt issues. Now my problem is this that my blood sugar spikes upto 180 to 200 after my regular meals but my fasting is mostly below 100. To overcome the spikes I shifted to a low carb diet but I am already slim and by eating low carb diet I started to quickly loose wt. I don’t need to loose wt. From the last thirty years my wt gain was maximum 8pounds and then back. I want control my blood sugar spikes but don’t want to loose wt as I am already thin. Kindly advise

  • Yes, I too am guilty of jumping from diet plan to others as well, I think that I need to have tried every weight-loss program that was available, however in the end not one of them made it easier for me to reduce and keep the weight off. I’m someone who has succeeded in losing weight, but never completely was able to shred my fat and abused caffeine products to boost my metabolism, only to then crash later and gain all of my weight back again over and over. I’m now trying a totally different approach at age 32.. I am going more keto/whole real foods and cutting out all of the protein snacks and artificial foods i was eating. I’m going to try fasting at least 8 hours a day to see if that helps lower my insulin levels. My whole life i wish i understood how insulin worked. I would have never eaten the foods that were holding me back the entire time.

  • Great delivery on this subject! Weight training offers a double whammy to improve insulin sensitivity. Muscles make up the largest glycogen stores in the body and a good training session depletes those like you said creating short term sensitivity benefits. However, training increases those glycogen stores as your muscle mass grows, creating bigger stores for the dietary sugar on subsequent meals and days.

  • I hate breakfast! I find If I don’t eat breakfast then it’s easy to fast for 24 hours.   • Covid allowed me to have time to focus on health. 4 mo the ago I watched both What The Health and The Game Changers and became vegan immediately. I’ve eaten very little meat since 2009 after attending a 3 day raw foods class and then 4 day vegan cooking class with Mark Reinfeld, internationally known vegan chef. He’s written many vegan books (several 30 Minute Vegan titles)and I have them all. His wife is an ND and they have written an excellent book “Healing the Vegan Way” and are preparing to open a cooking school in Colorado. That’s where I received my early education. I was mostly vegan but it changed overnight after I watched those (& then more) related movies. I’m easily losing weight and my cravings have resolved. I appreciate that like Mark Reinfeld, you do not preach veganism, because people need to choose their own path.   • Well yeah, regarding the hunger gauge. If you eat a piece of meat and or bread and that’s it you have to wait about 40 min for hunger to go away. Most peoples meal lasts this long so they keep eating until this point where the hunger stops which was estinguished by the first bit of food, so the rest of the food is mostly unnecessary, if they only waited the hunger would have gone away. Anyway our stomach should be full 1/3 with food and 1/3 with water and we should eat only when we are hungry:), the last third is so our lungs can breathe:)

  • I never thought I could skip my breakfast, cause if I did I felt bad and got hypoglycemic. In this time I was very slim (52 kg/height 168 cm/ 14% bodyfatpercentage!!). I was slim in this way till after my pregnancy, and went back to a pretty normal weight after my kids birth. But I noticed that it is nothing like before. I have gotten a thyroid issue (to low performance of thyroid hormones) and I gained weight. I noticed that I cannot lose weight for long, even I was very disciplined. I got frustrated and than started for some years the ketogenic diet with professional support. Since then I can manage my weight and I have a normal weight. I want to tell this here, cause maybe there is someone out there who is in the phase like I was before, it seemed pretty hopeless and no doc took it seriously. Now a days I do intermittend fasting on a regular basis, mostly I skip breakfast, and I enjoy it I don’t miss anything if I skip it and feel well. What I highley recommend: look for nutritious food, find recipes who fits this and your lifestyle. Do not think about a diet think about it as your new lifestyle and you will fast improve your complete life! And what I can say: I am much healthier now an feel much more younger than I did as I was in my twenties! no joke!

  • Fasting for 12 hours a night has to be a good thing, it rests the organs for one thing ; most normal people in developed countries have plenty of nutrition store to last a 12 hour fast.

  • Hello, I am not quite vegan yet (I do still eat cheese, creamer, and some foods that contain eggs like breads) I am looking for substitutes, any suggestions? I have never been a big meat eater. Even as child I always felt a bit “guilty” and not knowing why, but as a child you eat what it’s put in front of you later in life I realized that that guilty feeling was caused by my love for animals. As I grew up and moved on my own I never bought meat, I wasn’t avoiding it, it just didn’t occurred to me to buy it. Unfortunately when moving into a relationship with someone who needs meat in their diet things changed and I had to start buying and cooking meat I don’t eat it but he is OK with that. I love veggies, fruit and rice and beans so they are staples in my house. Who knows one day my partner might make the change too. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • Thanks so much. I became vegan because of the treatment of animals. My Godparents had a farm in Jefferson, Ohio, where I spent most summers. I named the animals and watched them grow. At Thanksgiving and Christmas time my Godfather would share these animals as food gifts. A pig that had become my best friend was the meal. I cried and cried, and asked to be excused from the table once I learned I was eating Big Man. That ended my meat eating forever. Shortly after, I became a vegetarian, but for the last 7 years now, I’ve been a total vegan. I feel amazing. My skin is so clear and healthy. I just stick to the organic fruits and veggies from Trader Joe’s. I would love to try the meat-like products, but the sodium content is much too high.   • I eat a huge bowl of kale, super greens and potatoes daily. I actually crave it. Add lemon juice to bring out the flavors. Mmmm. Potatoes have been demonized because of what people put on them. Butter, cheese, sour cream, and bacon all render the potato a greasy vessel. Please do research regarding lectins. Beans have a lot of them. It’s the plants protective mechanism from being eaten. Animals defend themselves from being consumed. So do plants. Dr. Gundry does some videos here about lectins. I’ve been WFPB for years. And am still learning about nutrition. Food is powerful.   • Hi Melissa I became a vegan 45 years ago wow not easy then. I just loved animals and I was always interested in health. I fell off the wagon a few times over the years (only with dairy) but believe it or not since only 10 years ago that I read an old book titled Radical Vegetarianism. It was sort of a “poop or get off the pot” book and I agreed. And from that moment forward I never compromised. I don’t preach to people either and at 62 years old, and everyone says I look 40 I dont have to preach I just say Genesis 1:29 Go Vegan. Its God’s original diet and God probably knows what He’s talking about.

  • I have followed your second rule. I haven’t moved the barbell for 3 years and now I have serious obesity and also less muscles. This is what I wanted. Now I have non-powerlifting dad bod and avarage women like it since they don’t want anything better in their life, they want everything that is only avarage nothing above. Now I have got cardiovascular disease and drink beer 4 times per week. I behave like a standard man after 30, don’t have any hobby and have sex once a year with my avarage woman that likes avarage man. My life is avarage. Everything I do is avarage. I work in 9-5 work untill I retire and then I won’t have any idea what to do forward in my life since my life was only shit job and everything being on avarage.

  • Ok so this is by far THE BEST video i have ever seen on diet on the way to loose fat with no Food scale for each meal and no calorie calculator. Now this is LIFE expirience. I passed the same path couple Years ago droping from 115 Kg to 90 Kg in 8 months. Following almost same footsteps as shown here. At 35 Years of age, first time in My life i saw my 6 pack nice and clear. As for training i chose bodyweight/calisthenics, wich by myown wiew right now was on some parts a lousy choice, but results were there nevertheless, becouse i was cosistant in diet and training aswell.

  • But how do I get sleep! I fall asleep but by 2am I’m awake and usually cant fall back asleep until 5 or so. Also, I’m at that crappy age where we women stop sleeping. I’ve tried CBD oil and melatonin nothing helps.

  • lol i don’t ate fast food for the last seven years. There is a McDonalds next to my work where i drive past every day twice.
    I work all day and eat very little (just some fruit or lean protein). After work i go to training (sometimes very intense strength/power)
    I come home late cook my food, eat and relax.
    It is always your individual responsibility. Not being in shape is 100% your fault.

  • Hi…. Good informative video. Thanks. I have an issue with elevated insulin levels….I am producing lots. However, the receptor cells are not able to accept the insulin…hence the insulin resistance….and high blood glucose readings…and my type 2 diabetes.
    I note from the video that heavy, short burst exercise allows the high blood glucose levels to be reduced by allowing the glucose to enter the cells and be used, as necessary, and this type of exercise would allow the high blood glucose levels to enter the cells without the receptors being activated by insulin.
    Just wondering…are there any other ways that one can increase the receptors on the cells so that the excessive insulin I produce will be effective in reducing my high blood glucose levels.
    Had high blood glucose levels for over 30 years….no symptoms at all NONE…in fact the only reason I know…is the HBA1C tests that have been carried out over the years…and prior to this test being available, the “quick” finger prick test…(although back then it took abot 3 minutes..ha)…Currently do the Intermittant fasting thing…as I always have…one meal a day at night..this suits me…and on the very odd day I might do lunch (very rare). I eat a pretty balanced diet and I indulge in…..well basically what ever I fancy…I drink alcohol…and smoke. I know the drinking and smoking are frowned upon but…hey…30 years type 2..and no side effects at all…except the high blood sugars and the high insulin levels…just looking for another view point… I am a self employed builder so I have a pretty heavy workout every day…exercise wise….
    I have been told by “professionals” that have worked in the diabetes field…(for far less time than I have had the issue)..that I will go blind…have a stroke…or heart attack etc… in a year or two with such high readings of blood glucose..
    Yet here I am still “A OK” go figure…no symptoms…no associated diabetic issues/problems….except the high readings which the “professionals” seem to dislike.
    I have been offered drug…Metformin…Gliclazide etc.. “to eleviate the symptoms” I was told….to which my reply was…”I do not have any of the symptoms”….to which they had to agree…albeit with the stroke, heart attack warnings etc…
    I take…and have never taken, any diabetes medication whatsoever…feel fine….30 years on.
    Oh..for what it is worth…..I am 55 years old today…Thanks for your time…

  • This is a great video on tips for staying consistent with your weight loss, but the tip on eat as many vegetables as you want is a double edged sword. The micro nutrients in vegetables will very well help those who don’t eat enough of it, but saying that there is no limit to consumption will more likely than not backfire on many. That’s the case where too much of a good thing, may lead to a bad thing.

  • I have been following something similar for about 15 months now and have lost 30 kg. It’s pretty much it, great and easy to follow video:) It’s just about sticking to the program and not get discouraged. You WILL hit a plateu where you will not lose weight for a bit, just keep at it! It will continue after a while:) I myself hit 3 of these while losing weight, where I stuck to the programe but just didn’t lose a single gram for 10 days. Then it suddenly carried on.

  • When you eat fat your sugar levels rise, ask any diabetic that’s healed themselves. All the best endurance athletes smash the carbs and would most likely kick your ass in a race. 3 to 5000 kalories a day and stupa lean,,, the fat you eat is the fat you wear.

  • I used to be super addicted to soda but I got over that with carbonated water like Pierre it helped be go from 18% body fat to 11% in 4 months it’s zero calories. Had to get used to the taste I hated it at first but so worth it n now I love it.

  • I lost 20lbs in 2 months with my cheeseburger diet: McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger with small fries, total 1500 calories a day. I was 200lbs and dropped to just under 180, and was also eating tomatoes, apples, green salad (NO DRESSING!!!!). I chose this route for 3 reasons: 1) it’s easy to monitor the calorie intake 2) I was unlikely to get bored with the food 3) it’s very, VERY cheap (Double Cheeseburger with small fries is just over £2/$2.50 so a total of £2/$5 per day). I think I could’ve lost a bit more but I still had one glass of red wine every evening.
    I’m certainly not advocating this as a substitute for a regular, long term, healthy eating regime, (I eat a lot of fish, chicken and green salad, keep carbs a bit low, and have maintained my weight) but I decided to lose a chunk pretty quick for a family wedding and this worked for me as a short-term fix.

  • Not restricting means that “all food is equaly healthy” or “any quantity is no problem”, wich is false. So, restrictions are a MUST.

  • If you work on a farm or actually move your slobby ass then you need breakfast, if youre an urban thumb activist workin from your screen then you can just starve no problems.

  • 1. Focus on nourishing: eliminate all restrictions and instead prioritize on single ingredient foods. Have treats only after healthy food.

    2. Stick to most filling foods. Veggies, protein, slow digesting carbs, fats. Eat those first then wait 15 mins.

    3. Reset hormones. Healthy foods and weight training.

    4. Meal frequency. One meal a day. Small frequent meals. Whatever works for you. Try OMAD!

    5. Only drink water. Doesn’t necessairly mean you’ll lose fat but you’ll avoid sugary crap.

    6. Only leave healthy foods out.

  • The reason for becoming a vegan is I had several major long term health issues, but I am having problems losing weight. My bloods have improved and pain is getting bareable. I am also a oil free vegan due to health.

  • I have been intermittent fasting for just over a month, only coffee in the morning then water till lunch a light lunch then dinner but I have had ice cream almost every night lol I know I have a problem! However I have lost just over 20lbs. Only exercise is jogging several times a week and some push up/pull ups.

  • Bananas and rice are definitely not good for weight loss. Calorie dense…. potatoes are much better than rice because they have much less carbs and fill you up easier.

  • I’m utterly confused. So eating greens I a horrible idea if you want to lose weight? Things like carrots are mostly CH, Broccoli has large amounts of it as well. Some people say that I won’t lose any weight with exercise at all because it’s all down to insulin levels. And your saying that you need to stop eating greens and eat protein and fat. Why can’t people dumb it down. It feels like every content creators tries to put a cloak of secrecy over food consumption so that people will sign up to some sort of program, where everything magically becomes simple.

  • Potatoes high starch. Not good. Bananas high in sugar. Not good. Rice is devoid of nutrients. Leafy greens high in oxylates, water and fiber. Few nutrient absorption. Beans make you fart. You can’t digest beans well. This advice is terrible.

  • This basically became my only foods after being diagnosed with allergies. There really are so much dishes to make with spices and herbs.

  • One of the most naturally thin/ripped dudes I know (only farm work, doesn’t workout) mainly consumes milk (at least, most of his days calories e.g. a gallon or half gal per day), 2nd he may eat eggs, meats from his animals, & a small variety of veggies he grows. He has also battled colon cancer, who knows if his milk diet is a factor.
    I can consume a lot of nuts to my fill & they don’t seem to effect my weight, but sugar/carbs &/or animal fat (non-fish) always noticeably impacts my body fat (feel & look fatter after just one night of some pizza, beef, pork, pasta etc). ATM my proteins are whey, eggs, fish, chicken, nuts & mostly fruits/veggies no refined carbs (grains/sugar) & as long as I can stick to it I get progressing results.
    To each their own; we are all human but all individuals, figure out what works for you.

  • Totally agree but make sure the rice is brown (the whole grain). We’ve been whole-food plant-based for several months now. My hubby has recently had his cholesterol checked again and it’s gone way down to normal! Same with his BP. The doctor had put him on statins because he was “high risk” because of his weight and his family history, but doctors always put these things down to genetics rather than lifestyle. His family are, and were, all obese, and lived an extremely unhealthy lifestyle. The weight is now falling off him. The doctor says his results are like those of a totally different person. As for me, I lost 4 1/2 stone by intermittent fasting before I knew about WFPB, but now I eat as much as I want, and am still losing weight, and it’s great. It’s also been a wonderful new adventure in education and food. I have also learnt a huge amount about the ethical and environmental aspects of animal agriculture and there’s no way I would go back to eating animal products again. Plants are the way to go!!!

That’s a recipe for misery and narcissism..not living happily and care free.
