If you’re trying to lose weight, it seems to make sense to cut as many calories from your diet as possible. Unfortunately, it’s possible to eat too little, which not only makes it harder for you to achieve a healthy weight, but it can also cause other health problems. In other words, eating below your needs can backfire big time.

5 Signs You’re Eating Too Little For Weight Loss If you’re trying to lose weight, it seems to make sense to cut as many calories from your diet as possible. Unfortunately, it’s possible to eat too little, which not only makes it harder for you to achieve a healthy weight, but it. In fact, eating too far below your specific calorie needs not only halts weight loss but may also negatively affect your health. The rub is that everyone’s calorie needs are different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to calorie counts for weight loss. 5 Signs You’re Eating Too Little for How Much You Work Out Even if you’re trying to lose weight, that’s too much of a disparity, which is why you’ll feel the effects.

Limit your calories and carbs too much, and your brain will become energy-starved. Feeling shaky, dizzy, or light-headed—or getting otherwise unexplainable headaches —are signs you’re not eating. Food is energy.

As mentioned above, if you’re not eating enough calories, your body is going to use the ones it does have to support vital functions. This means there aren’t any left to do the things you love. If you’re dragging your feet at the gym every day, chances are you could benefit from more food. 2. Your Weight Hasn’t Changed. 5 Signs You’re Not Eating Enough Protein 5 Signs You’re Not Eating Enough Protein Even if you don’t have a true deficiency, you could be running a little low, and that can affect your health in.

When you’re eating too few calories, you may develop nutrient deficiencies. Healthline points out that you may become deficient in protein, calcium, biotin, thiamine, vitamin A and magnesium. Nutrient imbalances cause fatigue and low energy, negatively affect bone and muscle development, and compromise the health of your skin, hair and nails.

While the RDA is currently the same for old and young adults, studies indicate it is underestimated and should be raised to 0.5 to 0.7 grams per pound of body weight (1.2–1.5.

  • ughh, I have all of the signs. it’s so hard sitting down and actually eating. when I have to watch over my babies constantly keep my house tidy and take care of my husband. I go to the gym almost every day and lately have been feeling so bad.

  • Strange but unfortunately based on my own personal experience, this is all complete bullshit… I may not be doing the same as ” Not Eating Enough Food” but i have been applying time restricting eating and i experience the OPPOSITE of these symptoms. I eat a lot less than im “supposed” to. this is because i feel full with very little food now. I used to be able to intake a lot more food but i stopped over eating. Right now i only eat when i’m hungry withing a certain time period (between 11am and 7pm). I eat anything i want within these hours and nothing outside of these hours. This has changed my life. I’m sorry but the human body is not made to eat 3 meals a day. It is made to withstand more like 3 meals a week! humans are over eating and this is a problem.

  • those are 5 really good signs. I have experienced them all. It can be tough trying to eat enough consistently when you have food sensitivities. Not getting stronger is a good one that someone mentioned below. I have noticed the feeling of being unmotivated, weak, and gassing out easily during a workout. Keeping track of your foods helps a lot if you can stay consistent and follow through every day. I track my food, but sometimes I lack follow through and don’t record my last intake.

  • What it was for me was, I have been leaving out my proteins and of course review my supplements. Our foods don’t have the proper nutrients because the land had been soooo abused and depleted. Unfortunately, supplements are now a must have. Chromium picolinate helps curb cravings.

  • I thought all those symptoms were the menopause. I recently turned 50 and was always moody with brain fog and snapping at the family. I’m on hrt patches now, and feeling heaps better, but crave sweet things which I’ve never done before.

  • I haven‘t had my period for two years! but I am afraid of eating more… I don‘t eat more than 1000 kcal a day otherwise I feel extremely guilty

  • Hello!!! Thank you Very Very much for your kind video information!!! You gave us a great info!
I have just a little concern, What about if i have all those symptoms and I have a bit of extra weights. Do I probably have any hormones condition? Or is it a lower calorie issue as you say on your video, because I eat very clean but I am still not shredded on my abdominal area.

  • My hair loss is more since the last four month since I am being prevented, hindered and blocked from ordering any grocery online to be delivered to my home 19 PIPPIN CLOSE, MISTERTON, DONCASTER, DN10 4DX (PLOT 9 NT431866) since April 2020. My face have more pimples than before and I can’t over exert myself doing anything therefore I havr to pace myself. I am getting skinner by the week and even my pyjamas falling off my waist. My face is much slimmer and collar bones shows more. Even though I have stated my circumstances to two uk supermarkets they don’t care. I am partically starving. I pray to the Lord God to help me. Help me Lord Jesus!!!

  • My days start off with me running to the bathroom to throw up even though my stomach is empty from the night before. I have no desire to eat after that. I try to make myself eat as much as I can. I can tell my body needs food but it’s hard to consume. It’s 7pm rn and all i had was soda, water and vitamins (i know my eating habits are bad so i always take essential vitamins).

  • I am not overweight but been eating…….well…….I believe not enough. I’m a big eater if I want to, but half the problem is you see……this food is bad for you…….then you try looking for another alternative to replace…..then another says this is no good for you……whether it’s carbs, fats, this or that……each video can screw your head up…….it’s no wonder you find yourself under eating through stress……and there is the key……they say don’t stress, coz it raises cortisol…….and this was all started at the beginning. It’s like a vicious circle

  • I have a net of 1000 calories when I take away calories burned from training from my maintenance of 1400 is that bad? I feel physically I’ll when I try to write or talk. I need to lose weight but is this a safe deficit.

  • Been there. I wasn’t aware I was not taking in enough food.
You can make it for a couple of weeks, but after a month or so you’ll crash hard.

If you have a physical job, like me, you probably need much more food than a sedentary person. Even more if you work out on top of it.

As a relatively medium size man, I still need about 3000 calories a day.
It isn’t easy. Eating that much does not come naturally to me.

  • 4 and 5, nevermind then…I thought I had a terrible eating disorder, but these videos show people eating like 50 calories per meal, dang I eat like 1560 a day and I am pretty short, Hahahahah

  • I need help with this, i normally eat alot, but im sick and i have fever, but the fever makes my taste buds bitter thats why i eat little….

  • I’m really scared for myself and my health. I’m trying to eat more because I’m underweight and I don’t want to be and never wanted to be. I really need help and I’m scared

  • What about the rat studies that show longevity increase in caloric restriction? Is it slowed metabolism?
    Also 1200 calories?
I would think 1500 minimum for most people, even totally sedentary people.

  • Plz balance this with a benefits of short term fasting video and explain the difference between long term undereating, starvation, and fasting.
As always thanks for the info

  • I don’t know what wrong with me. Some day i eat too much like up to 7000 calories some day i 200 calorie and even seeing food makes me sick. I don’t know what to do. I just dont wanna eat i and be skinny but food is good it’s makes me happy. I don’t like seeing myself in mirrors I don’t like feeling my belly or thighs.

  • Hello there, I am 5’10 I weight 270lbs and I only eat once a day & I dont eat much yet I’m still fat. I have stage 4 metastatic breast and lung cancer and I haven’t changed my diet just chemo was added. I gained 20lbs from chemo. I have alot of muscle I dont gain or lose weight, except when I was recently in the hospital I was eating 3-4xs and I actually lost 5lbs…. Dr said I need to eat more & drink water. I really dont get hungry. I dont binge or anything I’ve been eating once a day for yrs my 8yr old who only weight 53lbs eats more in 1 sitting….. So yeah I’m that weird person. I did a calorie counter and I was consuming 700-1200 calories and I didnt lose weight….. I am not very active due to the cancer I sleep 16-18hrs so I basically fast literally 20+hrs daily and again I dont lose weight. I guess the only way to lose weight is to wake up make a smoothies frozen fruits & kale & do that twice a day then do a meal and hopefully that will help me. I seriously dont get hungry, I only get hungry if I eat right b4 I go to sleep then I wake up STARVING Yet I ignore it & dont eat. Idk maybe I should actually vlog & show exactly what I eat & hope long I go without eating sometime 30+hrs then I get migraines & feel sick….. I dont obsess over food. I’m just a freak idk. Hugs keep safe yall!!!!!! Ohhhhh hellz yeah. Pineapple pizza YUMMMMMMMY LOL Say pizza I’ll go 24hrs wont eat will have 2 slices pineapple pizza and a bottle of tonic water and that’s it. Nothing else for 20-30hrs. So…… yeah so idk I have alot of muscle in my legs n arms I’m proportioned all over equally….. I’m at the point where I’m just about to go on a water fast for 6months water with Chia seeds, for real…..

  • One of the biggest things to my progress was following Jordan and listening to stuff like this, and unfollowing people that post their daily 5am workouts and say stuff like “I’ve worked out 365 days of the year last year no excuses no sick days”. Hearing people give solid advice on how to make progress and make it sustainable and also give out warnings like ‘if you look good in your Instagram photo but hate yourself, it’s not worth it’ are really important.Your videos are a breath of fresh air. #sortinghatsquad

  • Lots of good info. But, I have to disagree with the statement that eating too few calories wont cause you to stop losing weight. Ive seen hundreds of clients have this exact problem. Raising their calories and protein to an appropriate level immediately restarts their weight loss. This is a problem that is way more common than it was made out to be.

  • I’ve been binge watching all your videos! I lost about 70 lbs in the past, gained 20lbs back and have now been stuck at the same weight for over a year… trying to figure out what Im doing wrong. Your videos have been so helpful! Thank you! #sortinghatsquad

  • I’m usually on board with everything he says but I can’t agree about the pizza. I’m team pineapple so sorry Jordan. I listen to everything else you say though ‍♀️

  • I thought 5 was going to be “weak urine stream”
That’s really annoying, when you really have to go but it comes out ridiculously slow and you’re there for a good 10 minutes. Can a calorie deficit cause that too?

  • I had no idea how to lose weight the right way when I first started. So I dropped to 700 calories a day and did about two hours of cardio 6 days a week and lost about 80 lbs. I thought I was so healthy and doing so well, but then I started noticing my hair thinning to the point that you could see my scalp. I was diagnosed with anorexia, and I even started having heart palpitations!! I had to reverse diet in order to get myself up to 2,000 calories a day. My heart is now healthy and beating normally and the thick hair I remember has returned! I am now ready to take a slow and easy ride to lose the rest of the weight that refused to come off and put on some muscle!! Literally dying to be thin is not the way to go about it.

  • So glad that my friend introduced me to you and your videos…excited for the upcoming 30 day calorie cycling challenge! #sortinghatsquad

  • RD says I am doing it right but I am constantly hungry and not losing weight. Not even the planned 1/2 pound for week. If I eat more, I gain. No one can give me a solution.

  • hey i just started counting my calories… and its been restarting since march ugh. im on day 3, i went over… i been eating around 1400, what do i do if i went to 1700:/

  • Question; I am counting my calories, and I eat healthy food, to lose weight, but now and then I may want ice cream one day, or want a flavored coffee from Starbucks, can I still lose weight as long as I stay within my calorie allowance a day?

  • I hope you will continue to do more videos on YouTube
as they are so helpful to us all. I started watching about 3 weeks ago and have had more success with WW after months of losing and gaining since Covid19. You give those of us who don’t lose each week the realization that it’s normal if we are doing everything right. I have been able to eat more and stay in a calorie deficit in addition to staying within my points. I also feel so much better. Thanks Jordan!

  • I have to admit, I have no idea about how many calories is in what and despite being pretty thin overall, my weight tended to always fluctuate rapidly. I was shocked when I started using myfitnesspal that some days I ate as little as 600 calories from real food and when I drank alcohol I could get as much as extra 1000-1500 or more just from that. Plus lots of snacking on the side ofc. That made for WILD fluctuations in my weight, feeling horrible, mood swings,… I am happy to have discovered myfitnesspal as I would never know otherwise how much (or little) I was eating. I can totally recommend it to everyone who needs to learn about food.

  • If anyone is interested in continuing the conversation on health, wellness, nutrition and weightloss, I make lots of content regarding emotional health, as well as practical nutrition for cancer and diabetes prevention! I was able to lose almost 50 lbs and get off cholesterol medication! feel free to head over to my channel:)

  • Hi Jordan! I love this video. Your channel was actually one of the first channels I dug into when I started my health and wellness journey back in 2017. I also recently just made a video all about this! I talk about obesity genetics, fullness cues and how to know if you’re overeating! I lost 50 lbs, lowered my blood sugar and was able to get off cholesterol medications by learning more about health and nutrition and you have definitely helped me along the way! Keep up the amazing work and keep helping people!!

  • Jordan… I really liked you UNTIL you said Pineapple does not belong on Pizza.. LOL… My son tells me that ALL THE TIME.:) I love it though.

  • I have the problem where I love food, I buy the food, and then I have trouble finishing the food. Then again, I’m trying to gain weight and muscle.

  • It’s a nice video. I realized I have most of these symptoms. But I IMMEDIATELY disliked when he said pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza.

  • With all the great recipes on YouTube, I don’t feel the urge for some crappy foods anymore. I do eat them at times but I don’t binge because my food isn’t boring. Eating low calorie dense foods is what worked best for me. I lost almost 20 lbs since April and I feel great! Amazing video, thanks for the reminders

  • So bewildered!! My weight (female) is lowest ever but strength is up in upper body, maintained in lower. Fat deposits still annoyingly present!! Can’t figure out where the weight is coming off???

  • I havent had my period for almost a year, I really want to get it back coz I want to have kids when I’m older but the doctors say I have to gain to kgs of fat to get it back but I feel fat as I am:( Last time I had my period was a year ago I was 57kgs & (150 cm tall), I had terrible acne, I was grumpy and I felt shit:( Since then I’ve lost about 8 kgs I really want to get it back but with all the shit that comes with it I’m not sure its worth it. I think I’ll just try to get it back when I’m older and ready to have a baby (since I’ll get fat if I get pregnant anyway) my husband (hypethetically) will understand I need to get fat to have a baby, put up with me being ugly for a few months before and while I’m pregnant and then I can lose the weight again and we can all be happy:)

  • How about people who are eating between 1200-1400 but still not losing weight? I workout 6 days a week including cardio and weighted exercises but I still can’t beat the plateau am I doing something wrong?

  • Hi! I need help! Ive lost 6 kgs and i havent got my period for 3 months.. i started eating more and i eat more than my family and i feel better now but i still dont have my period.. what can i do!? Help!!

  • This was such an informative video. Too many people think that starvation mode is a thing and that feeling like they’re dying is normal.

  • Would you consider it okay to boost-start the journey with a more restrictive diet and after 7 to 14 days consume the number of calories based on your calculator?

  • I’d love to nominate you to be the king of the world. Honestly, I never comment anywhere, but you Sir are a gem and your advice is REAL, genuine & helpful. I’ve definitely martyred my metabolism following low calorie diets, I’ve lost a tonne of hair, been a walking zombie & disturbed my cycle. I’ve only recently learnt the truth to a healthy and sustainable weight loss and that’s been through your advice. Keep it up. ❤

  • 1. You’re losing weight too quickly
    2. You’re always hungry
    3. You’re obsessing over food
    4. You’re experiencing decreasing strength / losing muscle
    5. Your sex drive is lowered
    6. Low energy, bad mood, losing hair, irregular menstrual cycle

  • Hey Jordan, thanks for the super informative video. I have experienced extreme hairloss the last couple of months, however, I am not sure if this is really caused by my diet. I was eating 1400-1500 kcal consistently for 3-4 months, I’m only 5’3 so I personally thought this was not super extreme:/ I currently eat 1900 kcal a day, how long do you think it will take for my hair to stop falling out? Or anyone else who has any experience with this? Thanks so much:)

  • So helpful. So so helpful. Thank you for continuously creating content that is encouraging, honest, and empowering not to mention FREE! #sortinghatsquad

  • #3 got me. Every week I write down what I plan on eating on Friday night/the weekend after the week is over. It something that I think about all week long and plan out extensively. All week I’ve been looking forward to and planning on eating a burrito from this one place near me on Friday Night. Then Saturday morning I plan on grabbing brunch in town and then probably eating dinner with some friends of mine.

  • One time when I was much younger and did extreme dieting I lost my period for about 6 months but only lost 10 lbs a month so according to jordan that’s only a half lb more per week than healthy weight loss….I think like he said I permanently might have damaged my metabolism tho cause I gain weight so freakishly easily (but then again I have my whole life so idk) so I’m actually still kind of confused..

  • Your content is factual, funny and eye opening. I’m tracking my calories and weights daily simply as data and just doing that has been so educational! So thanks for what you do and pineapple, meh. Best sweet/pizza combo is dipping the crust in honey. #sortinghatsquad

  • It boils down to this, if you feel miserable all the time than it is not sustainable. Find a way to lose weight without trying to be masochist. There is no need to suffer, sure you feel sometimes abit hungry but this idea that without suffering their will be “gainz” is idiotic.

  • Pineapple doesn’t belong on a pizza? Lies I tell you! Have you ever had a flat bread pineapple and grilled chicken pizza? Glorious I tell you!
Btw….thank you for taking the time to answer my email…I love how you respond no matter what the question

  • there are certain people on IG that have lost a lot of weight and say losing your hair is normal… i got scared. its good to know its not!

  • I thought I’m eating enough until i tracked my calories and i realized that i don’t eat enough AT ALL but I’m full most of the time, why is this so hard!!?

  • Hair loss if a big one with me when i was deep in my eating disorder. My hair still is falling out, but i do try and eat enough. It takes a long time to recover physically not juat mentally.

  • This is a video that I needed to see (I eat around 1700 calories per day in addition to my cardio and weight training and then when I end up eating something “unhealthy” I end up binging 6000 odd calories in a day).
Question though, how do I know if I’m gaining weight from muscle or fat?

  • This helped me. I keep thinking I am eating a lot, but I have a few of these symptoms. I just transitioned to vegan and have been on a restriction diet (because we are told we need to eat less to lose weight). Thank you!

  • Fantastic!!!! Sometimes I think I delude myself into thinking I’m eating too few calories just so I can bump up my calories!!!! After seeing this there’s no way I’m eating too few calories tyyyyyy …. #SORTINGHATSQUAD

  • Great Video! (thought it was funny how in one sentence you’re talking about evolutionary effect of calorie deficit and the next sentence is “G-d forbid, if there’s a famine…” )

  • #sortinghatsquad. I’m so glad we found you! I was researching another diet plan (WW) until we heard someone talking about you. We were feeling so deprived on other plans and still not losing. Following you is going to be so much better!

  • 1-2 pounds a week is so slow there is no motivation if you choose to lose weight that slow i recommend lose as much as you can handle with out starving and feeling weak

  • this is so oblivious. most rexies are very discreet. My family always eats dinner together, so i never ate breakfast or lunch but a full dinner. no one had a clue

  • I feel tired a lot but good other times. A year ago I came out of ED treatment. I got my period back once two months ago. If I eat more I gain weight, what should I do?!?! (vegan)

  • A more helpful explanation of eating disorders would be to include the fact that disordered eating is dangerous in all shapes and sizes. Even people who are technically overweight can have an ED and they can still die from the side effects. I feel like this was just mismanaged and not very informative.

  • don’t worry. when you live in korean grandmas’ house for 2 weeks, you’ll come out looking nice and plump, can confirm. 100% recovery rate for me ‍♀️

  • To my mom:

No, I’m not automatically anorexic all because I go on a diet. I’ve researched the BMI, I’ve researched nutrition, and I’m one step ahead of my own mind by researching Eating Disorders. I’m not gonna starve myself.

  • i didn’t realize actual doctors were so clueless about ed’s?? it’s not teenage weirdness, it’s a dark plague of the mind. i’m an adult and i still struggle so badly everyday. get your facts straight mayo clinic.

  • This is how i was i always shown my “ed” (or what ever) then i figured out why they always known so i hide food in my mouth and spit it into my cup pretenting to take a sip and many more stuff like this
So i dont think ppl with ed will be like this if they want

  • Teenage weirdness huh? Wow makes me want to kill myself twice as much totally brings out the importance of fricking mental health you dimwit

  • so does anyone here afraid of like ingesting any solid food in their mouth bcs once you did it you’re gonna loose it and then you end up eating non stop then u start vomiting then eat again?

  • My family: eating a whole meal

Me: takes a half cup serving of broccoli and one pineapple ring

My Mom: you gonna get some meat of can I have the rest

    Me: XD

  • OMG SERIOUSLY?! There are so many things wrong with this video 1:If your kid does not want a hot dog or burger bun which is full of empty calories and crap, that is fine and is actually good. 2:Not wanting snacks or desserts is normal. It is rare but some kids actually don’t want sugar. Dessert and snacks are not essential and not eating them does not equal anoerexia. I as a kid never eat dessert unless it’s something sugar free or healthy. I never have buns with my burger and I never eat or almost very rarely eat hotdogs, soda, donuts, processed meat, bagels, store bought bread, white pasta, couscous, ice cream, cake, desserts, crackers, and stuff like that. I do have a burger bun if it is whole wheat though and I do have a hot dog if it is organic. Anorexia symptoms are being over mined.

  • That food doesn’t look good…..why…..is it true do i really have Anorexia?! oh lord help me what do i do i don’t want to die and if i tell my dad he will say your fineTikTok Cat

  • But then the parents get all angry at us for not eating. I just wish they’d stay out of it. I understand they just want to help but we already feel guilty for not wanting to eat, they just make us feel worse for disappointing them and getting them worked up.

  • This is so important because everywhere you hear eat less, how to lose weight, don’t eat this etc. But what about the people that have the tendency to not eat enough already, or need to gain weight not lose? So thank you for making this video! ❤️

  • Rn I’m trying to lose weight but I keep binge eating and I was skinny for like 2 weeks now my hands and stomach and my hearts (near my kidneys I guess) I’m gaining weight and idk what to do I don’t wanna gain weight

  • i was alot better at hiding my eating disorders and also bulimia which most kids dont have a family layout like that and most of them eat alone and going out has been formal for me as a i like to go outside and walk which i have since i was little

  • Very informative video!
Just a question: How am I supposed to know I am eating a proper amount when I have a chronic illness that has all of if not most of these symptoms?

  • I always eat a plenty, as a matter of a fact I just got finished with a bowl of sugary cereal. Even though I eat plenty my sister who is a doctor said that I am unhealthy being too skinny, and people ask me if I am okay. I exercise a lot too so it might be that

  • I do fasting, only eating when no one’s around and excessive dieting… maybe that’s why the. doctors want me to go the the psychiatrist

  • I do feel uncomfortably cold during the winter even if the room temperature isn’t low and I have noticed I may be over eating due to feeling hungry quickly. I do also suffer from morning stiffness but that’s prbly from over-sleeping. It’s nice in warm under the covers. I do however try to eat avocado and spinache more and now I have more reason to really get those in me on a daily basis. I hardly eat seafoods as it is more expensive but I do have fish oil vitamines to try and help that. This was very informational!!!!

  • I guess I eat not enough… I have hair loss..I’m 13 and vegan. But I’m scared to eat more I don’t want to gain weight.. Any tips? What shall I do? Which vitamins should I take in order to not have hair loss???????? please help me

  • honestly, i eat just under 2000 cals every day as a 5ft tall (relatively) slim girl but i still very easily put on weight at this cal intake. i am still fairly curvy and have excess weight that i could definitely shed. even though i’m very active and constantly hungry, any increase in calories will have me easily gaining fat. frustrating that eating to my appetite is too much!

  • I have an eating disorder but this video makes no sense
Hiding the food then eating it when no one is around
That technically is an eating disorder but if you hide the food and don’t eat it afterwards it’s obviously called an eating disorder. They obviously don’t want to eat for a reason or they just can’t eat.
Edit: Also if there weight goes down every week then that’s how you know they are beginning to have an eating disorder. If they keep on gaining then it’s a different story. But if you keep on loosing then staying then loosing then obviously that’s an eating disorder and you need help by dietitians and doctors to give you a meal plan of how each of your meals should look like.
    3 meals
    3 snacks
    Morning snack
    Afternoon Snack
    Evening Snack

What I have been experiencing its none of these in the videos.

  • I fast for two days a week and eat 1800 cal the other days. I plan on changing this once I get down to a healthy weight.

  • I realized that calorie counting is the only way! I don’t want to set my calories too low or I will be starving so I have set them at 1775 a day and have lost 30 pounds since January!! Sometimes I will go out with friends and consume more calories than 1775 and on those days / weeks I use your “jab” method and might have 2,100 calories one day and then split the difference by cutting a couple hundred calories the next couple days in a row. Over the last 4 weeks I have lost another 2.6 pounds. Slow and steady wins the race. Your “jab” method have been instrumental in my ability to lose weight and have a social life. One other point I make is to eat a half a gram to a gram of protein per pound of my body weight a day and I am golden brother. Starting to see my abs and my chest and arms are rippin’.

  • Smh nobody talks about binge eating disorder, its just as bad as bulimia and anorexia etc. You can die from both,if u get too over weight you can get diabetes/heart attack/stroke and die,if you are too under weight, you can die from malnutrition, they are both serious so why only talk about 1

  • Please realize that this is only one form of how someone can express an eating disorder. I had what you could call a mild form of one and was super sneaky and tactful about it. When you have something like that it’s not hard for the person to map out ways to not make it obvious

  • This is terrible for parents who think they’re child has an eating disorder. This video was so black and white. Most teens who have eating disorders are trying to hide them so they’re not just going be obvious and flat out not eat. There’s a lot of little signs that aren’t mentioned and anorexia isn’t the only eating disorder.

  • I want to loose weight but for some reason my whole family thinks it’s because I’m bullied or because I have body image issues. uh no. There are some times where I look at myself and think ew but I’m always aware that I’m at my best point in shape and trying to get skinnier isn’t going to make anyone happy. So, can I loose weight without being called anorexic?

  • I’m really struggling with this. I feel fat, but I know I’m underweight. But if I eat I feel horrible about myself and don’t eat unless my parents are there. I want to change but I can’t. I hate it

  • What I believe it’s truly sad it’s that people actually believe you can move on from this things, start over, you may start eating again but some feelings never change

  • 1 8oz of Coconut water give you about 500mgs of Potassium. Get not from concentrate and no added sugar which is best! Very surprised he didn’t mention this.

  • Amazing video thanks for helping so many people….you are helping so many people.Eating properly also changes your mood mind set….check this tips out http://greenhealthoracle.com

  • Thanks dr.berg… I can’t believe you got away with what you did and you are just here going on.. Anyway,we,his subscribers, know the truth..

  • Where da potazzim at? I swear it was just here a sec ago…can’t get enough potazzim! Potazzium in da mornings and evenin, I love potangzzium!!!

  • I get terrible migraine
    Since I’ve had
    One glass of water
    1whole lemon
    2teaspoons of hymalayion salt.
In 15 minutes my migraine goes
Yes lack of potassium causes so many pains

  • Our foods have been depleted from minerals. I take a liquid potassium supplement. You can find potassium and other bioMinerals here http://www.shophbn.com/health

  • One of my habits is eat saled first everywhere, I love cucumbers and lettuce with lemon. After that I eat non-veg, mostly fish. I eat almonds every morning with milk. Burger, pizza, etc. once in a month or 2.

  • You need both Cholesteryl types because the “bad cholesterol” is used to heal small abrasions in your blood vessels and arteries the good cholesterol strips the excess bag cholesterol away and smooth out the surface of your arteries too much good cholesterol is not a good thing either because then you’ll have it eating away the healing bad Cholesteryl

  • More inaccurate information about fats. Some of it is correct but too much isn’t. Sorry but you need to do more research and learn the FATS and TRUTH about cholesterol, etc… Please stop putting out information that can HURT people.

  • I only use olive oil (from the Fresh Pressed Club), real butter & coconut oil. I get sick from fish & can’t stand the texture of avocado but I eat all sorts of nuts all the time, eat eggs & mostly chicken but crave red meat at least once a month (heard it’s an O+ blood type thing). It all helps!!

  • I accidentally turned off the notification and that’s why I wasn’t getting anything from the Brightside. Omg, I thought it had been weeks since they put vids

  • Girl, let me tell you something
taking food into your bedroom and putting it in a food trash bag
“making” food and throwing it out just to avoid speculation
eating one normal sized meal around people and nothing else for the rest of the day
taking strategic bites to make it look like you ate more
lying about what you ate at school
taking laxitives and shitting it all out immediately
    lying all the time
extremely low calorie meals that look like a lot
drinking water and tea to fill up so the pains are less
    chewing gum or eating mints
    oversized clothes
    feeding food to pets
eating everything one day and then nothing for the next 2 days
The list goes on and on but it’s not hard to find better signs that these.
And don’t go using these!!! They’re just things out there.

  • You know my teacher told me i can have popcorn with no salt and i think that’s healthy because its actually corn so.. but what if they put oil in it tho..

  • I snack on nuts (almonds, cashews & pumpkin seeds). Sometimes this ice cream appears in my freezer and I don’t know what to do with it, so I eat it.

  • my entire meal plan the last several months consists of butter, some cheese, beef chicken fish and pork, some veggies and avocados. i ate eggs for awhile but my body started bit&_ing at me. I have now killed my diabetes, my a1c last December was 5.9, almost out of the borderline range too. i’ve also put my asthma hypertension and IBSD into hospice care. My skin is all cleared up from acne, the floaters in my eyes and neuropathy that was starting in my feet are GONE. The majority of my blood results are optimal, near optimal, or drastically improved. I no longer get the nasty ravenous hollow feeling in my stomach if i miss a meal or have to eat later. And since I moved in March and I’m just starting to reestablish care, all this has been accomplished with NO PILLS

  • You are completely wrong about saturated fats being bad, meat cheese butter and cream are the basis of the ketogenic lifestyle, and the carnivore method. you are right about the fake GARBAGE trans fats though, obviously fake anything is bad for the body

  • Anybody want to help me out please. Ok I will try but I need specifics. How many times a day/week? and I can’t do raw nuts. Serving sizes. I like cookies. Have a great day all!!

  • I work for the YouTube F.B.I everyday don’t have a day off and before I go to work I make my kids tuna sandwiches and put them in the fridge. After that I make them some salads and yogurt on the side with fruits inside it. Anyway i should get back to work bye.

  • Here’s an overview:)

  • Hello! Thank you so much for this helpful video; I’m currently on a journey to regain weight so I can reach a healthy weight and hopefully restore my period as well. However, when I gain the weight, will it all just be fat gain, or will there be some muscle gain too? I already have a lower belly pooch and I’m terrified of gaining more and becoming unhealthier with all of the weight gain…how can I maximize muscle and healthy weight gain and minimize the fat gain? I’m incredibly lost and desperate right now, so I’d truly appreciate any advice

  • I’m 5’11”, 143 pounds and eat 3 big meals + heaps of snacks every day but I find myself still being hungry all the time! I eat really nutrient-dense foods, lots of vegetables with a heap of legumes, nuts, brown rice etc. I don’t track calories but I swear my stomach is a bottomless pit no matter how much I eat, I’ll be hungry again in half an hour. I’ve always got heaps of energy, I drink plenty of water, got blood tests done and everything was perfectly fine, I’ve been a stable weight for years, I feel 100% great other than the fact that I need to eat constantly or my stomach growls non-stop. I’ve tried switching up my diet, altering the amount of fats and carbs and proteins but nothing has helped; the doctor said I may just burn through my energy sources too quickly (he gave no advice or reasoning though, very unhelpful). Do you have any other tips that could help me? Thanks in advance!

  • diziness extreme dizziness feeling like your falling down feeling nausea while walking massive headache thats what happens to me when im hungry.

i just wont eat,and its happening more and more
at first i could eat certain things like egg custard tarts, trifles, cheese cake,
and cold pressed juices were all ok
and then it is all i buy now
i am worried,i know im throwing things away when i should be eating them
i am hungry but every thing looks poisoned to me
i do not like the ingredient lists at all
most things just get put back on the shelf
i am veggy since February last year
    which has been great
but i am fully aware that i am not interested in food
i know i am heading for trouble
because i really do like the stuff they sell in supermarkets
and i am not eating properly anymore

  • This is my eating routine: (am I eating enough or na?)

    Breakfast: Eggs/weat bix or oats

    SnAck: almonds or rocket salad

    Lunch: A sandwich

Dinner: Thai food or meat and rice

  • Do you have a video or tips for someone who always feels full? Like I know I barley eat like 1000 to 1500 calories a day and I’m lucky if I can even eat a piece of fruit in the morning. Should I force myself to eat more, will it eventually just become habit? Because I have all of these seven issues.

  • Lost my period 5 months ago due to me starving myself and eating a whopping 400 calories a day. Lost 30 lbs in only 3 weeks. I started eating again, but only consuming about 1200 calories on top of exercise. Switched to a Vegan diet and began eating in abundance, but my weight fluctuates allllll the time. It seems that I keep gaining weight (not rapidly) but I’m a bit disappointed although I know that weight gain is necessary to regain my period. But I’m gaining weight at only eating around 1500 to 1600 a day and burning anywhere from 200-600 calories on top of that. I’m so confused and lost. I’m also having problems with my thyroid and it’s causing me lots of stress.

  • Please help me ma’m in November for like 2 weeks I was barely eating anything because I did not have money for groceries so I got back on track with my 1200 calorie diet and 4 weeks Have passed and my weight is the same… I’m 5’4 currently weigh 190

  • Maybe an obese kid is just taking initiative to make a positive change in there life and will resume a normal and healthy lifestyle after a little while.

  • Hello, I was vegetarian for 5 months and then I went vegan for 6 months now, but I lost a lot of weight during this time. Can you make a video about gaining weight? Thank you for the great video:)

  • I have been on a restricting diet for about 6-7 months now. I lost 25-27 kgs. Im 16 years old, 153 cm and 43.7 kg. I have been noticing my hair falling lately and i haven’t had my period in so long, like over 4 months. I exercise everyday, mostly cardio like walking very briskly for 45 minutes to an hour sometimes more if my dad is walking with me outside. Im always worried about the amount of calories i should consume mainly because i don’t know how much i should be eating. Could you please help me?

  • I’m having a severe hair loss even though i eat a lot, even binge everyday now. I did actually go through a strict diet to lose weight but right now i try to eat intuitively but it seems that i fall into having a mental problem toward foods and binge a lot on snacks. I don’t know what to do now, can you give me some advices? And i just cant stop eating foods that i constantly puke out foods. Im really worrying about my relationship with food.

  • My menstrual cycle is happily a thing of the past PERIOD. I’m on the more chronologically advanced end of your vast amount of fans, and I’m wondering if age plays a roll in metabolism and recommended calorie intake.

  • Had some symptoms years ago. I got underweight and lost my period for 2.5 years… so important to eat a lot! Especially if you eat a lot of veggies and fruits

  • Ive recently noticed that when it comes to meal times, i get full quite quickly. But then not long later im hungry again. Is this normal?

  • Just the title alone caught my attention. I’m a busy new mom who’s working, trying to finish college, and a newlywed. I need this video! Thank you. Some days I’m so busy I only get in one meal. Eating once a day isn’t intentional either. I have all the signs you described. Gotta work on fueling my body

  • plz just stop saying that when u feel hungry just eat, doctors can explain to you why, dont tell people such thing “if u had 2000 calories and u r hungry just eat thats wrong”

  • 2 AM and I’m still up. I’ve just started getting my sleep schedule and eating three times a day back on track but I guess tonight it didn’t go as planned. ‍♀️

  • Thanks for sharing such great information about what happens when you’re not getting enough calories. A teeeeny bit of feedback though You were speaking SO fast it didn’t look like you were breathing much it made me feel super anxious! It’s okay to slow down a little and take a breath! Phew, that was intense!

  • im 13, i only eat at night when everybody is asleep or when im forced too. I get told I don’t eat enough even when I do eat. I can’t see myself with an eating disorder, But i get told alot I may have one.

  • I cannot stomach more than 800 calories a day, it’s really worrying me, I do a lot of weightlifting and I need to start bulking soon and I don’t know how I’m going to do it in my current state

  • What if you feel hungry and bloated and uncomfortably full at the same time and you actually just ate a big plate of sphaghetti? I mean it feels like hunger but you just can’t eat more because you’re already so full you would purge if you continue eating. What is this?

  • I’m trying to make myself do this. And I’m sorry but this is not ” teenage weirdness ” Okay. I cut myself to feel pain on purpose so I can punish myself for being me. And you have no ifea what we’re going through. You have NO IDEA how much pain we endure and how hard it is to reach out just for people to think it’s age related. But.. I’m fine.

  • This Was A Very Great Video! Lately Ii Haven’t Been Able To Sleep ( As You Can See It’s 3am And I’m Writing This Lol ) Ii Actually Eat To The Point When I’m Completely Full But Maybe Ii Should Try Eating More Because My Sleep Has Been TERRIBLE.

  • do you offer plans for people who are vegan & also gluten free/low FODMAP? i cant eat pasta, quinoa, rice, oats etc & am allergic to a fair few vegetables, fruits & also legumes

  • i dont really know what to do..
im 14, 5’5 and about 40kg and i eat aboutt 1200-1500 calories a day,i had an eating disorder for about an year, i self-recovered and i just got my period last week, even though it only lasted for like 2 days and was very little, i thought i was recovered physically. not mentally because i still struggle from body dysmorphia. but after watching this im confused, i still fell cold, i still have hair loss, i still cant sleep properly, i still have mood swing,s and i still dont have a lot of energy, i really dont know what im doing wrong..

  • I’m a chubby girl but I experience every single of these things mentioned. Is it possible to experience this while still being chubby/on the thicker side?

  • I remember that I was too emotional (sad and angry) and sorry for the word horny. Until now I had no idea it was because of not eating enough. Now I want to lose weight but not become like I was then. I work out at the gym and I aim for a thin but strong body.

  • I’m having really bad hair loss have bald patches I’m taking 3 iron b12 and vitamin d having issues sleeping I had twins 5 months ago and I’ve got down to 8 stone 9

  • So I’ve experienced most of these things due to a sudden bout with disordered eating issues and I was about 40kg for 4’11 on Monday but I’ve been eating normally as of yesterday but exercise is still a part of my life and I was advised to stop but I can’t. I eat a yogurt with granola for breakfast, a peanut butter or almond butter sandwich for lunch on a whole wheat sandwich thin, blueberries (about a handful), some carrots and another yogurt for lunch and then a salad for dinner filled with things like chicken. I wish I could go vegan but with my parents and the expenses I wouldn’t be able to. Equally important are my eating issues. I started eating 3 meals a day during the week as of yesterday and I’m worried that my weight gain will be worse than better. I eat breakfast at 6:30, lunch at 10:00 (high school) and dinner between 5:30–7 and I’m in bed before 10. I’m just worried that I’m not eating enough as well because after lunch I’m still semi hungry

  • Oh fuuck, I have almost all of these except for the loss of my period (thank God). I was diagnosing myself with all sorts of crazy things and I think it might just be that I don’t eat enough food! Why am I this stupid (I skip meals bc I have really bad adhd and it takes too much time for me to cook and clean up )

  • I feel like I eat loads.. like constantly eating throughout the day, I go to bed full but I always wake up in the morning absolutely starving!:( haven’t had a good night sleep in ages due to this

  • I recently went pescaterian, and lost my period. I eat three meals per day, but have started to feel more fatigued and cold. First, I thought I must have caught the flu or something, but after a few weeks my state just stayed the same. After watching this video, I’m afraid I might not be eating enough. Especially with this new diet, I’m kind of lost in what kinds of fats, protein and carbs I should be eating to maintain a healthy diet…

  • oh my god what you said was so true!! and my hairs are still falling down but not as much as the old time ( when i was on a diet). But Can it grow back like it used to be? I miss my hair Thank you

  • I don’t have any of these symptoms apart from feeling cold….
Actually since I started to restrict my calories I finally get my period regularly, and my hormones are finally balanced and I also sleep better than before. So I believe eating less actually helps body. I was never fat to start with so I am soooo happy with how my body funcionts right now. I am a lot skinnier that’s true, but I love this change.

  • I don’t have my period since 4 month….i’m eating around 1100 1300 calories per day. I don’t how much calories I have to eat but I don’t have other problems that was mentionned in the video.
My period Will come back if I eat more?

  • Hi, new subscriber here! I’m always tired and I sleep around 10 hours every day and still tired. I don’t have any other symptoms. Also, I have pcos and I know that may lead me to an insulin resistance problem, do you think it may be a synthom of that and not of the amount of macros and calories I’m eating? Thank you so much!

  • Okay YouTube is reading my mind but I’m 13 and my period is a week late. I don’t know if I’m eating too few calories but I’m eating everyday and feel full all the time after I ate. I started at 11 and it might still be irregular? I don’t know. I’m 5’4 and 106 pounds but I’m not starving myself. Also I have a good relationship with food I have a lot of fruits everyday but also have ice cream or another unhealthy snack.

  • I really need help I eat way too little calories ….. I got diagnosed with anorexia and it’s hard for me to eat a lot because then I start crying and say I gain weight and such. I eat less than 900 calories which I know is not healthy….. I just don’t know where to start.

  • Once when I hadn’t eaten all day, I was driving and rammed into someone. I totaled a car. Luckily nobody was hurt. I still can’t believe I did that.

  • Sometimes when we are constantly hungry even when we just ate it’s due to lack of fluids.. dehydration because our brain can not tell the difference between hungry and being thirsty so make sure you drink your fluids! Water especially! I’ve learned that! Very good video! It’s crazy because I’ve been sick a few months back because i wasn’t eating enough, and because of dehydration.i eat very little my portions are little it’s not even on purpose I just don’t overeat you know how you continue eating even when you are full but you still eat.. then your stomach ends up fussing at you and begin to hurt but anyways thanks for this video!

  • I’m wondering how to eat a lot of whole foods when you just feel full all the time. I am fat, and losing weight, so it’s hard to say you’re not eating enough. I genuinely feel I’m developing anorexia-like symptoms. I just see how fat I am and I’m glad I can’t eat. Like today I had a smoothie. That’s it. One coffee cup of fruit basically. And I’ve been full all day and feel sick to think of eating right now.
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I just feel like I physically can’t eat enough to sustain myself. I eat really healthy, no oil, no sugar, and almost a whole food diet. But I simply cannot eat enough calories. Idk what to do. I even tried eating dense foods like avocados and such to pack the calories, but I still am 1000 calories below what I should be eating a day.
I’m afraid of hurting myself in the long run with this starvation diet I’m trapped in. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

  • I have gone from 240lbs to 150 as a 5’9 female. I eat a pretty even balance of fats, protiens, and carbs. I eat whatever I crave including lots of greens, grains, beans, nuts, and fruit. I eat mostly whole foods and supplement with vitamins and green juice blends. My energy is better, my moods are better, but I have one of these problems majorly. I am so cold! If I drink a glass of ice water I am left shivering for a good half hour! It doesn’t help that it’s winter. My house is 70 degrees and I still have to wear layers all the time. Any help? I have already got blood work done.

  • as a teen with an active eating disorder i’m a pro at hiding my symptoms, it’s not as obvious as your making it. if they are showing symptoms it’s most likely a cry for help without asking.

  • I am female age 27 now I feel tension anxiety my workout out routine is good but my diet routine is not balance my height is 5 feet 4 inches and my weight is 65 kg is my weight is OK? Kindly reply

  • Hi I’m 15 years old I lost my period due to anorexia/parasympathetic nervous system shutdown. I lost it about 2 year ago, I have been on a vegan diet for about 8 month, but the other day I was told the meat would bring it back and calm my system. So I did i weigh 54 kg. I’m 168 cm I do exercise but I only do about 30-50mins twice or one a week. Sometimes more sometimes less. I don’t know how many calories I eat a day but I do eat till I’m satisfied. Just wondering is there anything I need to know before I continue eating meat to try and regain my period xx @The vegan sulution

  • What if we are full, and like 10 minutes late we are super hungry again? And we are eating a whole plate full, and if we eat again our family members “fat” shame us..

  • Good video, your hair looks so fluffy and full and your skin looks sooo clear, you look amazing and healthy!! I can tell you’re doing it right and are eating enough. Also people start not being able to formulate sentences when they don’t eat enough.

  • I’m 15, I’m a vegetarian. A couple of hours ago I ate dinner, which consisted of quinoa, a bunch of different veggies, and a tall glass of water. Now, 2-3 hours later, it’s 8:30 at night and I’m hungry again. Is that bad? I’m hungry but don’t know if it’s bad to eat this late at night. I really struggle with this. No matter how much I eat I always end up being hungry again. I don’t want to eat too much, but I don’t want to eat too little. I’m trying to balance it but I don’t know how.

  • People with an ED aren’t going to show their symptoms that easily. Why would you want someone to find out about and be forced to stop? Unless you want the help. I honestly don’t find this very accurate, sorry.

  • So i’m 14, i weight 42kg and i’m 155cm. Ever since i got my period it has been very irregular, now i’m taking Progyluton for it but i don’t know if it is because i’m eating too little…
