  • In my teens I started drinking a lot more water. At 31 I drink about one & a half gallons a day. Why? I’m always thirsty. And yes, I do end up going to the bathroom a lot. You can imagine the look on my face when someone says, “I don’t like water.” I want to respond, “well how do you feel about air?” ���� I still have a diet soda once and awhile I’ll get a craving for it but other than that…H2O ��

  • I know this is an older video and I’m only like 5 1/2 minutes in so you might cover this, but the reason you aren’t hungry is 1) because of the volume of the water taking up space in your tum (duh) and 2) when dehydrated, our body signals to eat because it think it can get water through the food (which it can… Just not a lot). So being properly hydrated means you’re less likely to be hungry because your body isn’t shooting off signals to be like FEED ME.

    Drinking a lot of water has helped me actually realize when I’m truly hungry and I think I have a healthier relationship with food because I’m less likely to binge. If I go most of the day without drinking water and eating, when it comes to dinner, I totally think I need to eat a lot (and do) so I just feel like shit afterwards. Water helps regulate that.

Years ago, when I was first married, I had a massage and mentioned to my husband that I had to drink lots of water afterwards to “flush out the toxins” (which is what I was always told by the massage therapists!). He said, “what toxins?” I replied, “You know, toxins in your muscles that get released when you get a massage!” He did some research and informed me that was basically phooey. He is often my voice of reason about these sorts of things.:)

  • All the coconut water in the supermarket comes from south-east Asia where they still use arsenic in their crop sprays, which contaminates their whole water supply. I don”t buy rice grown in those countries because of this and, of course, I don’t buy their coconut water.

  • Well, some people claim that juice fasting during 3 days is a good experience, you feel good and even your skin looks better after that… But of course the main purpose is not to loose weight because obviously you are not loosing that much in 3 days, the purpose is to give a break to your body detoxifying system by only drinking juices with organic fruits and veggies.

  • Question. I’m sue it can’t detox like you say but couldn’t aid your body in doing its own job? Say for people who don’t necessarily eat so healthy. Isn’t that part of the reason folks end up at the doctor? Because their bodies can’t dump the junk fast enough and it causes all kinds of problems?   • I’mma do this. I’m actually going to drink over 1 gallon. I’m going to drink 144oz which there is 128oz or something very close to that. That’s about 3 48oz of a hydro flask so..
    I’m also using weight loss subliminals and meditation. 100 jumping jacks every 15 minutes and my diet is the 5-10 almonds an hour, gallon of water a day and one stick of gum. Very small portions of dinner with extra fruit. No eating after 9.

    I’m 170.8lbs so I’ll update on the 27th bc it’s the 20th at 12:36a.m. BABY

  • When considering eating healthy, you must never fall victim to modern fad diet plans. Extreme diets are a threat for your health, especially ones that seriously restrict your daily nutritional intake. While they may induce rapid loss of weight, these diets will never be a long-term answer for your waistline. You should look up Custokebon Secrets on google search engine as it isn’t just another fad diet where you starve yourself.

  • You are always the voice of reason and clarity in an industry gone crazy! My husband is a Biology professor and says that it IS possible to drink too much water and it can be deadly.     A related question: What about Yoga poses that claim to detoxify such as inversions or twists? Yoga is an ancient art so it has been around longer than these fads. Do you know much about that? I think they are meaning detox in terms of helping the body to release excess water, but I’m not sure.

  • Drinking ice cold water is not suggested because of many harmful effects. Replace it with luke warm water. This increases metabolism.

    Gyaaaaa. Anything that is “fast” or “lose 10lbs in 3 days” “diet” is just water loss. Look at any fighter in the entire world that is required to meet weight requirements. All fighters can drop weight in 1 day its all water. Losing water is not great and is absolutely not going to help in fat loss. Change the life style instead of joining a diet. Personal opinion is life style is a way you can eat healthy all the time and for the duration of your life. Diet is something that you can not live the rest of your life doing with out risks of health issues. Like no carbohydrate diet…. really…

  • I think this does work. I did a liquid diet once. I did eat less calories but not enough to justify how fast I lost weight. It just came flying off at a 3 lb per week rate for the first 13 weeks… only to slow when I started eating more non liquid foods. I also saw major benefits in my skin and hair.

  • Hi Jessica, I’ve recently started using MyFitnessPal to track my diet and exercise. My question is about tracking workouts that are mainly focused on strength building. In MFP, cardio workouts result in calories added to total daily allowance, but strength building doesn’t show as burning any calories at all. When I do one of your muscle building workouts, I certainly feel like I’ve burned calories! Any advice for how to track those types of workouts?

  • Not critiquing your video, just commenting my experience: I drink A LOT of water, because I work in a hot kitchen. Water is good for you and can help you in all sorts of ways, but nutrition is also a key part of losing/maintaining weight. Even though I drink water, I was still eating lots of fatty and greasy food which made me put on weight. Now that I’m moving and eating right, the amount of water I drink has helped me feel better than I expected…
