  • I went through menopause 17 years ago. After being post menopausal no one avoids post menopausal belly fat. Even if you stay skinny you gain 2 to 5 inches on your waist line. If you get lipo suction or that lasar lipo fat removal it could help a woman get a curve back to her waist. We also have hot flashes. Hot flashes wake me up about 12 times a night that I can remember and this is 17 years Im living with this. No gyn will give me hormone replacement therapy. They insist hrt will give me a stroke.

  • I had a doctor tell me that the reason it is hard to keep weight off is that everyone has their own unique metabolism which creates an equilibrium for their body at a specific weight. (This equilibrium is not always the ideal weight for our height)Our bodies strive to stay at that at equilibrium, kind of like the way water moves and stays level in a closed container when you tilt it.  So if enough weight that you go below that equilibrium your body will strive to gain that weight back.

  • Passengers and GVM If you are touring alone or with just one partner, do you have to allow extra GVM tolerance for extra passengers? What I mean is, if you have your vehicle set up to correct GVM with one or two people on board, and you have a 5 seat vehicle, is it still legal to use that vehicle (meeting the GVM target with two people, not five people) do you have to be under the maximum GVM on the off chance you need to take more people? Summary If you have a 5 seat vehicle and you meet your GVM with two people on board, do you have to reduce the legal passenger carrying ability back to two people, effectively removing three seats from the vehicle?

  • You are dreaming thinking a LC200 has that payload! You can’t even carry 5 passengers, bull bar and full tank of fuel without hitting GVM.

  • I think also genetics plays a role in how and where we gain weight. My Grandpa and my dad gained weight in the belly and I do too. So having that genetically gives me a double whammy when it comes to weight gain in the belly, plus I had a hysterectomy at age 54.

  • I have tried intermittent fasting. Funny thing i gain weight with the fasting not losing weight. I tried reduce portion, do yoga,pilates,and walking exercise. Much of it a yoyo in my weight loss.

  • #1. Get HRT. Why are women Fearing the very hormones that help their body their whole life? Estrogen protects your heart. Testosterone gives you energy and muscle mass. And Progesterone keeps uterine wall thin and other balance. My life was a wreck till helped my poor body starved of hormones. I am also a vegan. And I avoid processed sugar. That is WHY I don’t have a thick middle. And I exercise. But without hormones I would not be able to get rid of “meno belly”. Well smart lipo would for sure but that is very expensive. Just my opinion. Yes exercise but hormones don’t give you cancer. That is the biggest lie!!

  • Ronny, can you mention what happens or could happen when you go over GVM. I.e possible damage to chassis, diffs,wheel bearings etc etc. I think most 4 wheelers may already know. Loads wont. I enjoyed this video btw well covered.

  • It’s a choice like anything, especially when it comes to attitude and priorities. As an older petite woman, it’s definitely challenging but I focus on healthy eating i.e. mostly veggies and chicken or fish, very little dairy. No flour or sugar because it made me sluggish and bloated. It’s hard but worth it when you wake up with energy. A defeatist attitude will absolutely drain you. I do weights at home daily for 20 minutes and walk after dinner which ends by 6 PM. Find what works for you but don’t give up. My dad died from dementia and heart disease and my genetics are bad but that is not a guarantee I will have the same ending if I do my best for my own health. Menopause can be a minor inconvenience if you make an effort to take care of your mind and body.

  • I understand reducing sugar, (sucrose) but I thought I heard you say even fructose. I just recently started making fruit smoothies, to eat better. Whole fruit, blended with oats and ground flax seed… am I not making a great choice in that?

  • I have my eyes on a work friends’ 80 series Landcruiser. Original Factory turbo diesel, about 400,000 km and stock as a rock!
    Never been off road, only towed trailers.
    No mods at all! Not even a bullbar.

  • I don’t have stress, I try to sleep 8 hrs a night, but it depends on the time of the month if menopause allows me to, do most nights I don’t sleep well. I eat healthy fats, I drink a lot of teas. You are saying nothing different to me. maybe the exercises will help a little, I’ll try it, but I’m not convinced.

  • I just LOOVE every time I hear how we are to get all this sleep. Sounds great. I’d LOOOVE for that to happen. But every night for 7 years now…I wake up and CAN’T get back to sleep for hours. Then I have to get up at 4am for work. Sooo… how do you get that 7 to 8 hrs of sleep?????? I’ve tried everything. It’s 2:12 am as I type this because…. as usual I woke up and did my usual toss and turning and gave up.

  • Hi I’m 59 this year,just starting to see issues,I had broken heart syndrome 3 years ago,& am living with a lot of stress,my husband had a stroke,& I’m worried about having another cortisol serg.I have been a walker for 10 years,so I am trying to to get 10,000 in a day.I had a bad car accident & have been in physical therapy for years now,I used to do yoga but phiyo said that I can’t do it right now.I have been careful of what I eat,I lost 128 lbs 10 years ago, I don’t want it to come back as I had many weight related health issues. I’m wondering if you would have any tips on soft gentle exercises that I could do,& my sleep is not good,I’m lucky to get 4 hrs a night.     I’m not “there” yet but give me a few years. However, I’m an apple shape so weight accumulated in my midsection. I need to get a head start before my time comes!

  • I have hypermobile issues and a very unstable neck due to the way my shoulders sit. Any sort of crunch is bad for me and leaves me in debilitating pain and migraines. If anyone has this same issue, a great alternative and even better workout for abs is an earthquake. Use a Pilates ball (also known as a bender ball) under the sacrum for support and lean back slightly with an open chest and flat back. You can add all sorts of exercises onto this or just do this alone.
    Side note: the Pilates ball or bender ball is a small inflatable ball that is not to be inflated fully. It’s supposed to have a bit of squish in it. These are great for many things but a key asset when trying to build abdominals that are weak without turning on the back muscles or girdle area in the lower back.

  • If you’re getting a new vehicle and concerned about paintwork… Might be worth asking your dealer to put a ceramic coating on the paint before you pick up the vehicle. Some will some wont. But if its on there from new its easier to renew and will give some protection against pin stripes if a decent quality. Suddenly happy I was not able to get the dark silver colour in my vehicle now! I’ll be happy with the bright silver

  • Love them or hate them trailers give you a third axle, mine has a 750 kg payload car has 650 kg, 1400 kg total, I’m nowhere near 100s spare and lots of space enough said?

  • Ronny, you,Andrew StPierre White and Paul Marsh are the 3 go to sources readily available for all the good information currently on youtube, oh and you are spot on about the Gladiator a friend of mine just bought one this spring and was surprised to find out he tow his boat of 3 tons and a little gear in the box of truck and has to get his wife to take her Jeep JK 4dr Rubicon with the kids and that just pissed him off and went back to the dealership with this problem and offered him an over load suspension which i believe was from Mopar parts, from Dodge so it would be dealer installed and give him a safe margin of just 100 kilos more than he needed in the first place, when he found out what it would cost his jaw hit the floor and decided to go after market with air bags, custom set up from a trailer install company and it worked well and he got an auto levelling option, he also upgraded his brakes at the same time to, apparently Gladiator brakes on the Rubicon model are the same as the stock Gladiator which were fair at best to begin with, so all together for these upgrades to tow his 3 ton boat and carry his wife and kids and gear only cost him just under $2300 CDN and it all works together really good, and will pay for itself easily with not having to take a 2nd vehicle and more petrol for his boat, he said you don’t notice the difference in ride when empty because the airbags are empty, the only thing he wants to upgrade now is the trans cooler the factory one is running almost constantly when towing or loaded up with 4 people, its a Jeep thing, so this and radiator for the engine upgrade is another $1800 CDN, all in this is a $65000k truck, anything in Canada with a Rubicon sticker/decal on it is almost a mortgage ��

  • So i had total hysterectomy due my endometrial cancer so i have menopause at age 44 i tried core and ab work out and i end up having really bad lower back pain. I changed my diet etc nothing really works,will take your advice and try full strength body workout lets pray for good results as i really get annoyed with my belly fat.

  • Remember this is if your gonna be spending a lot of time touring but if your a weekend warrior and maybe just want to cruise off road on a Saturday perhaps an ATV is a way better choice for you.

  • What’s so hard about measuring food? Get a $10 scale from Walmart and look at the serving size on the back of the package… poor 80 grams of oatmeal and that’s 2 servings.. seriously. It’s not that hard. I’m type one diabetic and I do it everyday with all of my food. And once you do it for a while you get really good at eyeing it at restaurants. You can’t eye it yourself and think it’s gonna be completely accurate. Also Marc the serving sizes at restaurants are not 30-40% off at all. That would be completely illegal and have people such as myself in a coma.

  • Great video mate. I had been looking forward to the JEEP Gladiator for so long but was so disappointed with the specs.
    It just capable in what a ute needs to be.
    Great off road no doubt but not what most look for in a ute.

  • Hey Ronny, A lot of people buy the utes to tow caravans and there is a tow ball download of between 160kg 350kg, especially if it’s a large van. That tow ball weight would push all the utes you mentioned well over the GVM.

  • This is a very interesting video. Thanks for taking the time to make it. It looks like the LC or disco is a good option once you consider Ute+tray. Also you can save quite a bit of weight by removing the extra seats from a wagon. Quite hard to remove weight from a Ute. I might be trying to justify my own choice:-). Btw. You forgot to add the new defender. It’s numbers will look pretty amazing

  • Your figures are a bit dodgy Ronny. LC200’s have never been known in Australia for good load capacity yet your implying they’re best in class. You shouldn’t include fuel as different vehicles have different size standard tanks. According to their respective manufacturer websites LC200 GXL/VX/SAHARA GVM less Kerb Weight is 3350 2740 = 610kg useable load. Y62 Patrol is 3500 2812 = 688kg. A pretty clear win for the Nissan.

  • I think it’s worth mentioning that most vehicles are specced from the factory with accessories that will increase the stock weight and will reduce load capacity. Rear AC, bigger stereos etc.

  • When I stick to numbers, calculating all the stuff wanted, no way even a ute can help and dreams about an Unimog come. But the reality strikes back and mud tyres come out the only tuning. ^_^ I used to have a bull bar, winches and all the stuff on a previous vehicle, but it turned out that in reality it downgraded the performance and made me too optimistic of car’s capabilities.

  • I have issuse with belly, hormones, etc etc. Gain so much weight. But im tall. If im short im gonna be big balloon ��. My yoga teacher told me that im defense of something but we gonna talk about that this morning. I think that is the point: but don’t blame me for this. We all excepted too much, first reduce the stress level than quit coffie, i read somewhere that coffie is quilty for kortizol high level. Than, cut meal portion, no more sugar, im not taking sugar but bread is my problem. Than, do some detox and fasting as time is ok. Than most important is sport any kind or yoga or dance. When you are dancing you hormones of happines is on so also that reduce lot of things. Yoga is very good for everything. And you can also “cut” dome person from your life either.

  • Actually I found a much easier way… rub a little iodine/potassium iodide on your belly half dollar size circle and my belly fat pealed off… I also read that if you have fibroids, cysts or even some cancers it will help rid those…

  • Great info! Can I still do these exercises after having neck and back surgery for herniated discs and spinal stenosis? I’m also scheduled to have a second surgery on my neck because the hardware is coming loose. I’ve noticed an increase in belly fat due to menopause and I’d like to work on the weight gain. Thank you!
