  • Unfortunately, I don’t have the luxury of being able to not be afraid to be hungry. I’m a non-reactive hypoglycemic, so there are times when I’m not even a little bit hungry but I have a migraine and feel like I’m about to faint from my glucose dipping too low. I’ve never actually fainted, but that’s because when I feel like I’m about to faint, I drink a mountain dew and eat something high in protein to get my sugar back to normal and keep it there.. Honestly, this is probably the majority of the cause of my obesity… I can’t wait until I’m hungry to eat because of my hypoglycemia, so I eat more often than I should… That, or my appetite is a lot lower than it should be and I’m permanently in starvation mode from not eating enough calories… Since I usually only eat once or twice a day, this being the case wouldn’t surprise me even a little.

  • Calories are not what you want to try to avoid. You need to avoid anything has carbohydrates in it like sugar and bread and eating to many fruits too! I know it sounds weird to some people but new studies are starting to come out and show grains like cereals and even wheat bread are not good for us. Before you do a diet…PLEASE, PLEASE STUDY ABOUT THE FOODS YOU SHOULD EAT!!!! I recommend the KETO diet. It is REEEEAAlly effective if you do it right.     Trans fats are definitely bad, but we often forget about the negative inflammatory effects of many of the polyunsaturated fats, whoosh are bad in high amounts

  • It’s all common sense, especially number 13 but unfortunately everyone wants fast results. Most people (myself included) lack willpower and constantly want instant gratification.

  • A lot of the stuff is really good, like eating slowly, shopping full and sleeping a lot. But pleeease stop with the calorie counting! Our system is waay more complicated than just calories in vs calories out. Plus, it can lead very quickly into an eating disorder when done wrong (I`m the one to know that).

    Just be healthy. Don`t forget to drink, move and eat whole foods intuitivly starting when hungry and stopping when full. Do what feels right for you.

    And don`t forget: Our bodies are supposed to be diffrent! Just like we have a wide veraity of hair or eye colours, we have a lot shapes and sizes of bodies. Don`t force yourself to an unnatural weight (you can`t change your eye colouer neither). Get to know yourself and just love and apprecheat it for all the things it does for you.

  • A few things i learnt on keto diet.
    1. Net carbs per day 25gms max.
    2. Drink 30ml/kg (body weight) water daily (Lemon+salt)
    3. Walk for 20mins daily (Try to cover 2km minimum)
    4. Your overall daily calories intake must be under 2000 if you don’t exercise daily.
    5. Avoid all type of sugars if you can’t only use stevia that also directly from plant don’t go for brands.
    6. Routine Checkup is necessary you can get kidney stone very easily on keto diet.

  • Hello, I’ve been trying to do Keto for a while and I am at the age of menapause. It’s hard to get in ketosis. I feel like it doesn’t work for the Ketogenic diet. Any suggestions?

  • I count calories, macros and nutrients only until I have the recipe down on paper. Then I have recipes listed like Breakfast 1, Breakfast 2, Breakfast 3 etc. It’s extremely easy to keep a diary, and I’ve gotten used to weighing my ingredients. I don’t have to worry I’ll go overboard. You just need to add the recipe codes for the day and anything extra apart from the recipes, to track where you had an excess. I would also point out that regardless of how much weight you have to lose, the first month on keto or actually first 3 months are crucial in order to adjust to it. So I wouldn’t recommend cutting your calories too low in the beginning, as there is the risk you just quit. Get comfortable on keto, eat sufficient to not feel hungry, give it at least a month, then you can start analyzing what can be cut to start the weightloss process. Small steps are better than quitting.

  • The distracters. I live in a house thats the absolute pits over the neighbors and intend moving away. They kept pestering me and I could not pack my healthy food was on my way out the door.     A lot of people, even some so-called “keto police” in different social media groups, have this one wrong. I practiced this and it worked. Solved hairfall issues for me.
    If someone is on maintenance, then the “low carb, moderate protein and high fat” rule can come into play by then.

  • I am a runner and I tried Keto for a month and I went from running 7 miles a day to not even being able to run 1. I was completely wiped. I was supplementing with potassium, magnesium and electrolytes and tried to wait out the adjustment period but I never came out on the other side. I have Sjogren’s Syndrome and I was trying the diet to lower inflammation, not lose weight. My potassium runs low all the time because of it and I get dehydrated very easily.   • Ally, I cant tell you how much I needed to hear this. I’ve been researching keto a few days now, and you are the only one who has said “Dont eat fat if you want to lose fat”. That makes so much sense coz I kept thinking, how am I going to lose wt if I’m consuming so much butter, cream, cheeese etc?
    I’m 5’5″ tall and I weigh 68 kg. My ideal weight, when I felt at my very best, is 56 kg. Unfortunately, my metabolism has upped and died, so no matter what I do, the weight does not shift. I have been eating 1-2 meals a day for over a year now. I always cook in ghee or butter. I mostly eat home-made food, and very rarely have takeaways. Never eat crap like granola bars or other fake foods masquerading as healthy. Never eat low fat. Never eat artificial sweeteners. Only have something sweet on average 1-2 times a week. I’ve been running on the treadmill for about a month now, almost daily. The result? NOTHING.
    So I decided I really needed to go keto on a full-time basis. My Qs to you are:
    1/ If I cut out bread, can I eat keto friendly homemade bread (using flax seeds) or is even that a no-no?
    2/ If my goal is wt loss, can I still eat dairy fats (butter, cream, cheese) or should I leave dairy altogether? For the first few weeks or for ever?
    3/ Can I eat any veg during the first few weeks of keto or should I stick to only meats, eggs, avocado? Are salads a no-no?

  • Keto is hard and I’m proud to say keto WAS hard, but now I feel fantastic I swear. You’ll always miss what you can’t have, but what’s so funny you never really ate it anyway and it wasn’t good for you. I was like I can’t have fruit omg.but realized I really never ate fruit.. we always want foods that make us feel like crap ��

  • I count my keto woe calories using the old Weight Watchers Points Plus system. I IF, too. Given my age, stress, and perimenopausal state, keto/low carb/IF is the best woe of eating I’ve found to feel great while losing weight; though it’s slower. I’ve lost 48lbs since 5/22/18, and didn’t start any exercise, light walking, until 9/2019.

  • I have been on keto for 3 weeks and lost 7 lbs but I do see it on my face and waist. I want to lose 27 more but idk what to eat anymore (i am a very picky eater) ������ I think I’m going to change it a bit and add beans and corn I miss so much!

  • Maybe you can demonstrate how important a food scale is. Alot of folks doing keto eyeball things and use measuring cups which give inaccurate amounts of foods. I started weighing all my vegetables out and realised using cup measure was robbing me of vital amounts of vegetables and vitamins

  • thank u for clarifying the fat consumption issue… i’ve been on keto, 20-4 IF for a while now. and although i feel much better now, i’m still not losing any significant amount of weight. it’s the first time that it occuree to me that i’m consuming too much fat �� seems so simple, but it had to be said out loud for me to get it ��‍♀️

  • Dark chocolate has magnesium and is an antioxidant. I occasionally eat it to keep up my magnesium levels. I actually lost 3 PANTS SIZES the first time I did keto for 6 weeks even though the scales didn’t move.

  • One of my problems is listening to my doctor tell me that my blood work does not look good when it comes to my cholesterol. AS long as my triglycerides are good to go, then it shouldn’t matter but that’s a doctor for you. They are all brainwashed by the way things have been since Ansel Keys put it in place.Alot of doctors are against Keto because they think its a fad idea and/or it is bad for you. My sister is the only doctor I know that eats Keto but she doesn’t live anywhere near me so I can’t use her as my doctor.

  • For me, as long as I eat the proper portion, I don’t worry about the hassle of logging things and the only thing I write down is my weight on a calendar in my room. That’s all that matters. Eventually, I will measure because gaining muscle and losing fat will happen and my weight won’t matter at that time. I just don’t want to focus on remember to log everything I put in my mouth. I am just doing things naturally. Eat whole foods, stay away from carbs, don’t go hungry, eat portions, and keep your willpower and commitment.
