  • You are using plant-based (referring to the vegan “cheese”). Keep in mind that plant-based and vegan are not the same thing. Plant-based foods may contain meat. Vegan does not.

  • I love me some turkey sandwich with mayo mustard lettuce cheese and tomato with avacodo and bacon..that’s a kind of sandwhich I like.

  • Soybeans are grown all over the Midwest……you just said grown in China, not much in US……really. In Ohio they rotate corn and soybeans, have been for many years…..buy USA

  • I would like to check out that Oven Glove U have…
    I HATE IT!

  • I love sweet potatoes but Mike is not a fan. Your turkey sandwich looks good. A trick for sweet potatoes is to bake them then peel.

  • I’m new! Enjoy your videos so much, I’ve learned a lot about label watching!! What are the people on the live donating to? Did I miss something? Thanks for doing all this work for us!❤️

  • Hi John, what’s the different between cilantro and coriander?? They kinda looked the same…
Regardless this recipe is divine! Thank you!

  • People are being critical because this is NOTHING like the original. He’s not using the right bread, the carrots are supposed to be pickled, Vietnamese people would never use mayo in their banh mi, turkey, lemongrass, garlic, turmeric, fish sauce, lime juice, or peanut oil. The only thing he got right was cilantro, which can be found in a lot of other dishes. I’m not criticizing the dish, I just wouldn’t call it banh mi. It’s a misconception and can lead to cultural ignorance.

  • Too many are critical of this sandwich saying it’s not even Vietnamese banh mi. This is his take on it which means it’s not going to be exactly like the original. Everyone has their way of doing things. And the “sexual” thing a few have commented on is probably all his whispers. Lol.

  • (sorry couldn’t fit everything in last comment!) I understand that it may lead to cultural ignorance but Google is merely a click away if people really want to learn about original banh mi. =)

  • I mentioned your channel on keto Sam I am FB group…you’d love her too…I encouraged group to follow you and I hope that helped! Thanks for all of your great work!

  • I don’t know why, but whenever a “Vietnamese” recipe is posted, there’s also a person just like yourself commenting about the inaccuracies or nontraditional use of ingredients.

Which is fine! C: But I’m curious, is a strict traditional approach important in Vietnamese culture?

  • I’m late but im here lol
    Foods looks good luv..
Love sweet potatoes and Turkey and a good Luttuce yesss.. lol for my vids at home I used a old phone book and a candle top lol..
I saw the quite place so good and crazy at the same time..lol
Stop eyeballing cat lol.love u to the moon ❤

  • Maybe it’s because a large portion of Hungry viewers are American, so he’s just doing it to be considerate? I mean, not all of this channel’s viewers know that coriander = cilantro.

  • Same things. Cilantro is the Spanish name for coriander, and is more widely known as cilantro because of the popularity of Mexican food in North America. This guy is English, but it’s a video aimed towards people celebrating thanksgiving, so he would just say cilantro to not be confusing.

  • Guys please be smarter than this. Keto is an exciting new fad that’s picking up way too much steam. It’s horrible for you. It tricks your body into doing things and operating in a way it was never meant to. Don’t cut out fruits, veggies and grains, ESPECIALLY if you’re any sort of performance athlete.

  • I don’t understand how anyone could call this “oversexualized.” Unless of course you’re turned one by the words “turkey breast” in which case you have bigger problems…

  • I didn’t notice any horniness from this host… these comments are so weird. The food looks delicious and I am definitely incorporating these tips. Awesome vid, fish sauce! I had no idea. And I love cilantro, it is used so much in our cuisine. Can’t wait to try this sandwich very soon!!

  • Missed your live cooking. Destiny and I hope you are feeling well. Sometimes I watch on tv u tube. Art sounds a little horse. Always looking forward to any u tube from you. Don’t run your self down.

  • Loved this video and recipe. I wish those cauliflower thins were not so expensive on Amazon…. I just cant bring myself to buy them!

  • You’ve taught me so much in the last few months since I found your channel. I’ve been sharing it with everyone I know:) keep the knowledge coming its much appreciated!

  • NYT 8/4/2019: seventy nine percent of ground turkey contains bacteria. More than any other poultry, pork, or beef product. Second is pork chops at 71%

  • I wish I could find someone who cooks healthy without it being Keto I have gallbladder issues and the Keto almost cost me my gallbladder. But enjoy your videos any way

  • I have to laugh about Bobby using Turkey Breast even though in another video he said NEVER use breast, use regular ground turkey. Well Whole Foods out of regular so he bought breast…..what happened to NEVER. I guess adapt to make a video even though it’s a contradiction

  • he isn’t horny, it’s just the way he talks, moves and does things that makes some ladies go wild, and probably some men as well, they all just want to be the sandwich

  • I make a veggie salad that consists of broccoli, cucumber, onion, shredded carrots, three different colored bell peppers, multi colored baby tomatoes, sometimes cheese chunks, and is flavored with a spice packet shaken with Braggs ACV and avocado or olive oil. I only add Adobo seasoning for a little more flavor. SOOO good! It goes pretty quick. Incidentally, I just got a slap chopper and it saves so much time.

By the way…have you done a video on how to preserve your vegetables for longer. I hate it when I do grocery shopping for a week and then I forget I have some things in the fridge and then they end up going bad.

  • Missed the Live transmisión, but watching now from Oregon ;), thanks for the great video, You gave me an idea for dinner tomorrow, I love avocado dressing with olive oil black pepper lime and cilantro, sweet potatoes are my favorite.

  • Hot pans will ruin your granite counter tops had a guy that put a pan of patatos he just boiled for a few minutes and scorched the tip layer. Had to have a guy come and sand and polish the counter

  • I am a single fulltime mom of 2 I work mon through Friday and my doctor recently told me to change my way of eating bc I am very unhealthy I have a sugar addiction and I started watching your channel and got hooked! started changing my ways of eating and love your videos

  • Could someone please please tell me the make and model of the bread/buns? I’ve been searching the video where he mentions it, but can’t find. Really want to buy them.

  • I always buy organic ground turkey breast. When I make my burgers, I mix in grated, zucchini, green onion and grated apple. They come out fabulous and juicy!

  • If he is going to call it Vietnamese banh mi then he should make it like how it’s supposed to be made because this can give other people a misconception of what banh mi really is. The only thing that is accurate in this video is how the banh mi LOOKS like with cilantro and carrots (it’s a staple for the carrots to be pickled). Nothing about this qualify it for being Vietnamese banh mi. Aside from that, the food itself looks delicious. I just wouldn’t call it banh mi.

  • I am new here and have been following you on YouTube for a while now. Thank you so much for all the information on healthy foods. I have changed up so many things I buy now thanks to the information about what is bad in our foods.

  • I am growing kale and purple sweet potatos in my aparment and balcony and was wondering how to prepare the sweet potato, oh man that looks easy and good. Wow how much you stuff that sandwich, but i wonder how it wil taste. What i am growing is just beginning and small and so i wil buy and try. Yes i see its and older video and gonna see if you have more here. Man it looks good. Greetings from Holland.

  • I love your you’re cooking show we made to recipe two days ago and they were real good with the chicken wings and the salmon patty and a stir frying

  • This is not original sandwich of Vietnam, in the way u cut the bread is wrong we Vietnamese cut it on the side of the bread not on top

  • That turkey sandwich looked delicious. Yes, killing it! I usually bake or boil before peeling the sweet potatoes. I used to be a movie buff but, not as much since YT.

  • He shouldn’t have called it a Viet banh mi but instead an adaptation of banh mi using Thanksgiving leftovers. Hence, the turkey and non-traditional ingredients. I’ve seen plenty of Vietnamese use mayo, the homemade kind that spreads like butter on toasted baguette. As for the other ingredients, people will always use substitution based on their preferences. My Viet friend uses lemongrass and fish sauce to marinate pork for her banh mi. I agree that it’s not original but food will always change.

  • Ohmigod, you guys are soooo cute!!!  Such a sweet Mom, adorable baby, great camera guy and awesome chef…everybody’s so real, luv it thank you for sharing!

  • New sub. I’ve only seen a few shorts and replay of this LIVE and have thoroughly enjoyed! Can’t wait to view more! Many thanks from Buckeye, Az….
