  • Sutan was off to a great start almost immediately. That little episode of her and the lemon gave me cause to darn near fall out of my chair because I was laughing so hard! The look on her face was the most priceless thing I have seen in a long time! Then tossing it into the sink and wayving bye-bye was all it took! I had to stop the video several times and play that part over before I could continue. Watch out or she will become the star of the show! LOL

This recipe is slightly different that mine. You use tofu in the mix. I’ve not seen done previously. I’ve also never seen tumeric in the recipe so this will be an interesting change. I think this will be the special for our weekly dinner party this evening.

I use panko bread crumbs instead of regular or flavored ones. When I want something with a bit more flavor I put some finely chopped Thai peppers into the mix before making the patties. I still leave the chopped onions in but, I use the red ones for more flavor.

I steam the hambagu with water as you do. However, on occasion, I pour in some saki and finish steaming it with that. It really adds to the flavor and the alcohol burns right off. Although, since my youngest is 32 years old it’s not much of an issue. LOL In addition, I have found that Tonkatsu sauce works well as a substitute for Panzu sauce. I’ve even used my spicy Teriyaki sauce on occasion, too.

Sutan has learned a new word and is having fun with it! I know I was enjoying watching her repeat oishi over and over and over. Obviously, you were happy with her efforts, too. She certainly has a fantastic mother. I think that I speak for us all when I say that we are going to have a wonderful time watching Sutan grow up with you as her guide.

  • This is interesting how you make it!! My host mom’s recipe had me mixing pork and beef instead of beef and tofu. And instead of ponzu, she used demiglace sauce. I remember it being my favourite food I tried in Japan along with TanTan Ramen I wonder how you would make TanTanmen?

  • I would love to see how to make Nikuman and Ramen. This would be awesome. I hope you can show someday in your channel. Thank you in advance.

  • If you want to get the air out of a mixture, tap or pat the air out. The tip about looking to see if the juice is clear is very useful. This little girl is a genius. she’ll be taking over before you know it. The subtitles seem very good and the number of translation options is impressive. The English instructions are also very clear. This channel… it’s kind of rad.

  • Ok this was disappointing. 14 through 10 were basically 2 recipes in varied ways. Then 2 of the recipes weren’t even dinners, they were a dessert. So basically you advertised 14 budget dinners and really only gave me 7. ‍♀️

  • I loved the seriously weird carny music that came with the bacon avocado. Most of these I couldn’t make but watching this channel just puts that smile back on my face. My favourite channel for sure.

  • Hey you, checking out the comments! I hope you & yours are having a safe, healthy & happy #GoodFriday!! Blessings to you & yours!!

  • That lemon look! Priceless. LOL! Sutan is developing the good looks of her mom. Compliments. BTW, I was born in Hamburg, so I am a Hamburger and sugar, lemon juice, soy sauce, tumeric etc. are definitely strange in that mixture. Interesting variation of an old acquaintance.
