While I love them when they’re made over an open flame, these keto-friendly fries are pretty tasty when made in a frying pan at home, too.

  • Wales is a tiny, weird and wonderful country with some of the most eccentric and down-to-earth people you’ll ever meet. This video encapsulates its oddness. The final section with the forager-chef is priceless. At first you think he might be mentally deficient, then you find out that he is actually a mysterious genius who can conjure up culinary magic. What a man!

  • Since when did chips become crunchy and crispy. Utter trendy chef BS, chips a supposed to be soft you tard. So difficult to find proper chips nowerdays and these crunchy chef morons are to blame!

  • i lived in london in 1980-2. fish and chips is a narcotic. absolutely a brilliant food….crave it all the time. the vinegar, tartar, newspaper wrap…omg….I’m in love

  • I have to try making this exactly as in this video. I am so hungry after seeing this! A family from England ran an English style fish and chip shop located around the corner from me for many years. I was devastated when they closed to retire. My mother who lives an hour’s drive away was so disappointed they closed, too. It was big news in this little town. The food was so good that there were lineups down the street on Fridays at this place. People drove in from other towns and cities just to eat there. It was an institution around here for decades. I miss it so much. Nobody anywhere has ever been able to make fish and chips like they did. This video has inspired me to make English style fish and chips myself. I must satisfy these cravings for it.

  • I made these and my husband (who LOVES fish and chips) pronounced them “perfect.” The batter is the best. It turns out just as John says.

  • just had fish and chips now from a decent english owned bistro. the fish was fried perfectly, the batter was on point, and the fries had the correct texture. i had it with tarter sauce, malt vinegar and a dash of salt. overall the meal was good and more importantly FRESHLY MADE WITH TOP NOTCH INGREDIENTS but lacked any real flavor or taste. i guess it’s the way english food is.

  • I just got threw the corona and thank bob i eat healthy now and my imune system was high. You might of saved my life bob. I also ate alot of Ezekiel toast while sick high in zinc and antioxidants

  • The girl who looks like ching mung yung maybe expected a little more raw i think. Maybe she is not really FISH AND CHIPS type ehhh!!!

  • man I don’t know what it is about her but Im pretty much head over heels in love with Charlet lol. These were some of the best show’s Munchies ever did.I wonder if she’s still working for them?

  • Fish should go in at 180 degrees not 150. It will not only dry your fish by the time your batter is crispy it will also be greasy! You can have nice chips by cooking in 150 degrees beef dripping like this guy and close the lid for 5 min without moving it then shake it to separate the chips cook for minute and you have beautiful chips that are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. I loved the tartar sauce recipe!

  • John, authentic mushy peas are made with Marrowfat dried peas, NOT garden peas, that is if you are a northerner! This mashing up of garden peas is a cheffy thing, and taste nothing like the real thing. Do I detect a brummie in your voice?

  • I recently burned my finger and used Aloe Vera. It works; after applying some to my finger, it still burned a bit, however, after my mind was occupied, I didn’t notice it anymore. If it happens again, just hang in there and give the Aloe Vera a chance to work. By the way you both are awesome parents! I wanted to jump through my laptop when Rose choked on a piece of her burger! We love Rose!

  • I love these fish and chips. I wish i could taste them as well. Love these fish and chips. Even here i have a special fish and chips recipe. Check out my special fish and chips recipe here:

  • I’m sorry, but did the he just drank off from the beer bottle, and use that very same beer to make the batter, and served that battered fish to innocent people? It probably taste delicious, but sorry, hands down the WORST ever in terms of hygiene.

  • I haven’t tried it, but I recognize just looking at it, that it is very similar to the really good ones above average. Also check out Leyland fish and chips next to the big supermarket it surprised me.

  • Thanks fir all your recipes, company and sponsors like strive market. Bobby has been bringing awareness, supplies, business to the select companies that support this station. They provide funds/revenue and supplies back to keep this great family bringing their best to us????Amazon has cut back his 8% to 1% recently. This is tough times for everyone but maybe we can all thank those companies who support FlavCity in our comments and from buying from them online! Ps not a good move on Amazon’s part as they are doing very well with online revenue! Thanks FlavCitylove you all including Art!!!

  • Ok but eza bit of a wanker,if l went drinkn wi him he’s getn an lsd depth charge..sit back and enjoy,it’ll take about 20 mins+ to kick in..but worth the wait..(never admit it )

  • 4/18/20……OMG What a show….all of you guys got hurt….I was a nervous wreck watching you I kept thinking you are giving Rose too big of pieces, of that meat…. she is going to get choked and then it happened…she’s too young to be eating big pcs. like that she can’t even chew yet….and that pot of grease on the stove please put it on the back burner when Rose is near by…..I was so glad near the end when Desi finally set it on a back burner…. the potatoes looked great but that rare hamburger made me a little ill watching you guys take a bite of it and the blood oozing out of Bobby’s mouth….how can you eat such rare meat….? I think I’d like those cauliflower buns, hope I can find them here….where did you get them at….I did not catch the name of the store…… Desi’s donuts looked great and I bet they did have a good taste…never had Paleo or Gluten Free, but would definitely try these…..
Bobby you should be fat the way you snack & eat & drink when you are in the kitchen….Glad Rose is ok, how is Desi’s fingers? I felt her pain, and your leg when the iPad fell in the floor and hit your leg…how’ s your pain?
Why don’t you just cook the meal you are cooking, and then let Desi have the kitchen and make her dessert or vice-versa? Your kitchen is like mine too small for 2 cooks in at the same time:)…..Enjoy your Sunday Dinner for Desi…..Are you filming that one too?
    Take care and stay safe….

  • At 6.30 actually 5 = salt, vinegar, mushy peas, parsley sauce and a buttered bread cake. Get to Sheffield for proper fish and chips. At least you didn’t put a side salad with it…. that’s just wrong.

  • People in the states also fry hush puppies with all fish. They are little round balls made of seasoned corn meal and flour, onion, salt & pepper, spices to taste and then deep fried. They are the bomb with any kind of fish, shellfish, shrimp or lobster. I have been known to go into a seafood place and order nothing but a large order of hush puppies to go and no fish at all. The mushy peas you made sound lovely to me. I love peas.

  • What would you recommend instead of Sukrin Gold? I cannot have any gluten at all….. I have Celiac. Oh, and I’m from Ontario, Canada

  • Everywhere in new Zealand there are fish and chip shops but I miss the old days when you could go to a real English take aways for traditional fish and chips.

  • That is funny! I can’t believe someone blames you for people getting healthy and living at home. Love your show and all the recipes. I’ve been having more seizures recently so I plan to start eating a mostly keto lifestyle. Thanks for all the ideas!

  • Great teamwork you guys!!! While I was watching you give Rose hamburger, I was wondering how many teeth Rose had that she can eat hamburger now. But Bobby was giving it to her in little pieces so no problem. Then she started to choke. I’m just glad she is fine. She’s a strong baby! It happens. You guys are great parents. Always so attentive and Rose is so lucky getting all this awesome healthy food to eat. Yummy! Keep up the good work.

  • That was little Rose’s first choking incident. You both do a wonderful job of taking care of her. This will happen again and you both will save the day as the great parents you are.

  • Love you all but love when Rose and Des are a part of the show and conversation too!!!!!
Happy Belated Birthday Rose!!!! May God bless you richly this year!!!!!!

  • I love watching you guys!! I work to much to be able to join the live videos but i always watch later. Very cool family. I tell everyone at work about you guys lol

  • Suggesting that your pregnant viewer should consume caviar now that she is pregnant is dangerous. Please be careful crossing to the line into giving medical advice.

  • you’re saying about £7/portion? WTF, the way that’s been made should be at least £18. Your special chips bring this dish apart. For the fish, I have no idea how it tastes, but wouldn’t pay less than £17 for the whole lot. People will ignore the mushy peas, which again are apart, same for the tartar sauce. £18-20 for your dish any day mate

  • Desi my grandma would put my finger in yogurt or butter milk. It has a cooling effect and the whey heals.
so sorry I recently burned my hand I know how it feels.

  • I love Sukrin products.
If you have a gluten sensitivity it would be good to go to the original grain, Einkorn.>My fav>>9Thrive sells it) >>(recipes here too), videos>> love Einkorn, delicious.
It is actually better to NOT use the whole grain if you have digestive issues. It’s also better to make sourdough because the grain soaks overnight.
Sourdough and starter recipes here too (EASY)

  • Bro. Let me be the one testing your fish and chips. I’ll give you a much wilder and uproarious response over your buddies. you deserve it. Looks amazing. I would have been like, “OH DAMN!!!”

  • I love you guys, my heart stopped when Rose choked… but unfortunately it happens, I am glad she is ok.. I hope Desi’s finger is ok…see you in the next video ❤️

  • I m shocked that you do not recycle or compost. I see everything go into that trash can. As I dump stuff in my compost or recycle bins, I say my nieces and nephews names because I want this land to be the best it can be for them. I really hope they will do like Denver, CO., where they do not allow cars in the downtown area. Only buses!!!

  • “Mayo” my arse. Mayo is a County Ireland. I think you meant to say mayonnaise dam Americanisms.
Mushy Peas, you used the incorrect peas. You should have used these ones:
These peas ARE the bees-knees when it comes to mushy peas. They are slower to prepare and cook but boy its well worth the effort.
Nice video and lovely crunchy chips (not fries).
The best Fish-n-Chips this side of the pond is from Donkey Fords in Limerick.
    We have them regularly:-)

  • 9:53 gives away the fact that the crunch sound is for the Chip-O-Metre to all those saying it’s a fake crunch sound
    I mean, unless you’re joking

  • I had a third degree burn when I was younger and I got a staff infection from doing dishes. If you do dishes wear rubber gloves until it heals. You might try putting toothache medicine to numb the pain. Love the videos!

  • Don’t like chips that are ALL crunch. I want to taste more of the fluffy inside with a good crisp outer shell. I’d take the potatoes out of the water well before they start to fall apart.

  • Is it just me or who saw the normal size hash brown and the huge hash brown and thought that the huge hash brown should be the normal size on the menu

  • that michelin dude needs some pity pussy when he looked at the camera man at 18:07 I could feel him begging LMMFAOO I feel his pain:/

  • Yellow mustards (American mustards) is the best for burning it will calm the burns and the pain will go away as soon as you put it on the burn and you will help not to develop blister there after, try it you will thank me

  • thinking of the eccentrics in this episode recalls Dave Allen did a tv show or two about english eccentrics. It’s here in Youtube somewhere. One guy lives in a house the size of a closet, another built a room so he can fantasize about flying a fighter plane in WW2…

  • everybody talks about the forest guy. Huge shoutout to Captain Beany though the lad actually dedicated his life to charity! that’s mad.

  • never judge a book by its cover. When I first saw Matt I thought to myself “here we go, another weirdo and fuckup live in the woods.” He changed my mind when I saw the dishes he made. I will be quite happy if my kid turns like him.
