How to Make a Rainbow Smoothie! Healthy Smoothie Recipe

Video taken from the channel: blogilates

Ingredients: 1 ripe banana, peeled 1 cup frozen blueberries 2 tablespoons almond butter 1 tablespoon raw pumpkin seeds 1 tablespoon maca powder (or protein powder of your choice) 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom 1 cup unsweetened almond milk. In a blender, mix each frozen fruit with 1 cup vanilla yogurt and 1/2 cup almond milk. Add more almond milk if needed to blend, but the smoothies should be fairly thick. Pour each blended fruit.

Smoothies are portable and quick, and you are getting all the filling fiber from the fruits and vegetables (unlike juices where the fiber is removed). I’m kicking off the Drink the Rainbow smoothie series with a green smoothie. There are many versions of green smoothies but I used what I had on hand and made a simple recipe without exotic.

Rainbow Smoothie For the preparation of red layer you need 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, vanilla or plain, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, water or liquid for blending. For orange layer required 1 frozen banana, 1 / 2 cup Greek yogurt, vanilla or plain, 1/2 cup frozen peaches, 1 small orange, 1/4 cup frozen mango water or liquid for blending. In case you were wondering, that’s where the unicorn part comes in, because we have sourced the ultimate colourful rainbow-inspired smoothie recipe, and you’ll see that down below.. Your usual go-to smoothie may have plenty of vitamins and minerals, and suffice nicely, but there’s an additional area your favourite bevvy might be lacking. I like to keep my smoothies fun and colorful with the following recipes.

Click through the slideshow gallery above and view 15 Rainbow-Inspired Treats. From red (strawberry, watermelon, mint) to purple (blueberry, apple, beet, and honeydew).

You’ll need an actual juicer to make these, unless you want to spend a LOT of time blending and straining. Grapes, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, mandarin oranges, and strawberries are layered to create a beautiful rainbow treat. A splash of vanilla and scoop of powdered sugar in the fruit salad give this parfait a truly magical flavor.

  • looks awesome! I would leave out the yogurt and honey and maybe use coconut milk instead of water! banana is enough sweetness for me!

  • Hi Cassey! I love this recipe and really want to try it but I’m allergic to nuts, what would you say I should substitute the cashew milk with? Thanks!xx

  • I learn so much from your videos. Always informative and beautifully made. I have only been using spinach in my smoothies that’s going to change now!

  • I love your idea! I bet we can stick an upside-down ice cream cone into the top of the whipped cream for a unicorn horn & decorate the horn with colored whipped cream or pipped icing or something to make a unicorn shake!

  • Cassey! I thought it will be really informative if you could make a video on the types of substitution food (stevia, egg substitution, etc) and some of the effects it has on our body and how does it taste differently, etc. Btw love all your cheap clean eats ideas!

  • This could actually be a week long “calendar” per say because you could do one layer of the smoothie each day and then on the seventh day make the rainbow smoothie you just demonstrated making!

  • That chocolate smoothie turned out extra creamy! Love it. Sweet potato and chocolate go well for a brownie batter too so I can imagine this smoothie tastes amazing!:)

  • I’m not judging, but I can’t wrap my head around someone who used to practice law, something that can actually help change lives significantly, to “how to build the perfect smoothie” and how to best clean a blender. Too many folks are leaving professions that can actually help society and this planet for vanity careers, especially women, and it’s quite disheartening. In any event, still a subber and supporter. ✌

  • Wowzers Nisha, this is a phenomenal video! Thank you for sharing your expertise and wisdom on creating a full meal replacement smoothie! Have a good one!

  • Would it be all right to substitute regular milk for the cashew milk? It’s inaccessible for me to purchase cashew milk. Expensive and hard to find but will it mess with the consistency at all?
    Also I love this. Gorgeous!

  • No blue??? The PJO fandom is shaking our heads

Just kidding! I really love your video and I know why you wouldn’t want to use the food colouring

  • I’ve been trying to lose weight and be healthier and I am kind of young but I’m trying to be healthy at a young age and I just want to say thanks Cassie! You’ve helped me so much!

  • Hey, I signed up for the blogilate newsletter to be able to access the September calender but never got the email with the password does anyone know what it is?

  • Love your recipes Nisha! I am going to go pick up your cookbook this week! I am in a meal rut lately so can’t wait to try them out:)

  • Wow your tips are really unique and original. A lot of the stuff on your videos are totally new to me. I’ll try out a couple of these.

  • hey cassey
    I’m from India
and some types of fruits are not available over here
like we don’t have kiwi n avocado
so can u use some of the Indian fruits and even vegis and help me outtttt
    plzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Chef Cassie! Chef Cassie! I want a rainbow smoothie! I’ll have to try this. The smoothie is so pretty and looks quite tasty! Love these vids!

  • I’m thinking if I just make the mixture thicker ( more ice cream, less milk/ cream) this would be way easier to layer. Thank for the idea, I’m going to try it.

  • I’m so glad you included alternatives to bananas! I’m very allergic to bananas and haven’t heard of many good alternatives for in smoothies. I’ve never heard of the cauliflower idea before, and I’m absolutely going to give it a try!

  • FYI, this video is posted on the Facebook page “DIY Tasty Ideas”. That page posts ONLY stolen videos, mainly from Youtube creators. Be warned, once you report the video and contact them to request it be removed, not only will they NOT do that, they will block you so you can’t report any other posts using thee Facebook reporting system. Yoyomax12 had nearly 20 videos posted there without her permission, and reported them to Facebook weeks ago. Nothing yet has been done, but I want you to know so you can also complain about this theft.

  • can it be made without any bananas or some sort of substitute??? I may never make it but it would be good to know in case I think about it (once I get a good blender lol)…and can leave out the bananas!!

  • Amazing vid! I’m going to try these smoothies. However I’d like to correct that coconut oil is not healthy fat, it’s saturated unhealthy fat.:)

  • I’m really suprised you didn’t mention the amount of sugar in it! Especially considering how important reducing sugar in our diets is.
I love you cassie, I have supported you for years!!. but this seemed more of a “pretty drink” for the thumbnail.

  • Nisha! I love all of your videos and the part about making ice cubes out of non-dairy milk and spinach is a great idea! I also freeze my Aquafaba into cubes and keep in a freezer bag in the freezer. Thank you for sharing and much love from Fate Texas!

  • LOVE SMOOTHIES! Will make each color layer individually. Will make the rainbow version 2 IMPRESS my skinny mini health nut friends!

  • Your video quality is so crisp!
My girlfriend just started her vegan channel and is hoping to take inspiration from your setup and editing skills.

  • I love this smoothie, it’s so cute.

Also Cassey I’ve got a question! I’m trying to gain some healthy weight back what do you recommend? uwu

  • Hi Cassey! Definitely fav smoothie vid. I have a huge request; due to health problems Im on a pretty strict puree diet all meals. I love smoothies but I am severely allergic to all citrus and go into anaphylactic shock so no ORANGES KIWI LEMON LIME and PINEAPPLE, all which used to be my favorite;i am also allergic to dairy. Are you able to make a smoothie recipe that’s exciting and not blah for me because my norm is strawberry, banana, spinach, and almond milk which is boring my tastebuds by now. Please and thank you!! My birthday is on the 20th a new smoothie would be great for me. Thank you so much for the last 3yrs I’ve beem watching u, its really helped me.❤❤

  • Wow quite the eye opener this video was! Didnt know of all these combinations for smoothies! I love smoothies and always wondered why my blueberry smoothie wasn’t as smooth as what you get outside! Cant wait to try your proportions!

  • Looks thirsty i am making all soon this is perfect for hot days in Singapore i will be in usa next may for my cousin graduation your bonus linktree and lasagna are on my computer your cookbook is next to me on study table drooling over my samsung galaxy j4 love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya

  • What a useful and informative video! I thought I knew how to make a good smoothie, but I learned so much today! Love the last tip about washing your blender definitely will be doing that from now on!

  • These are great tips! I never thought about adding frozen cauliflower to my smoothie instead of banana. Your smoothies look so beautiful and I love that you are using a reusable straw! I suggest using wider, glass straws for drinking smoothies. The thick smoothie is able to get up the straw easier and also there is no metal aftertaste. Link to glass straws:

  • You’re such a breath of fresh air! I love your approach and your humor and those cute dance moves at the beginning I think every video should have some dance moves!

  • I have just subcribed to this girl and I have to say I have never been more happy doing a workout. Her happy vibes and attitude make you motivated to do something! Also there’s no arguing in the comment section it’s all people who are nice people! Good Vibes, Good Vibes!

  • Thank you for all the amazing tips for making smoothies Nisha! The chart is so helpful to think about what smoothies can include to make them healthy and balanced.

  • Thank you this is so helpful! I always have random fruit and veg in my house that I’d like to make a smoothie out of but it ends up tasting pretty meh.. This is like the blueprint to awesome smoothies!

  • Hey Cassey! The smoothie looks so pretty and delicious. On a different noteyou look SO gorgeous in this video! Your hair makes you look like rapunzel. And your makeup looks differentmore pink and blush, rather than your usual nudes colors. I meant, you always look pretty but more radiant in this video. I’m going thru a hard time in life right now but your video made me happier and smile. Thank you for always being positive.

  • Spot the vegan is the opposite of find waldo in the comments rn if you dont like it OK whatever change it we don’t need to know we get it you’re vegan

  • I would be so happy if someone making this for me but if I do it for myself I will end up by blend everything one time together lol

  • OMG this is the first video I’ve watched from u but I already love it and I already subscribed to u.

  • I am to instruct a cooking/baking class of 4 to 8 years old at my son’s summer camp and your channel has become a real inspiration. Thank you.

  • Greek yogurt is high in protein, BUT it is also high in bovine hormones, dioxins, PCBs, and saturated fat. It’s low in fiber and antioxidants. Why not almond/cashew/coconut milk? Yogurt is not a health food.
