#tacobowls #ketomealprep #ketorecipes. Last week I showed everyone how to make easy salsa and guacamole for your families week!!! This week I want to show you how to make my taco meat and taco bowls so that you can have stuff ready to go for you and your family for easy go to keto friendly meals during the week. This is one of the many recipes I use that have helped me to loose weight and improve my health. My hope is that you also can find your way to better health too!!! Now I have a big family so I really do need to do meal prep and many of us are doing some form or version of the Keto Diet so I am very conscious of carbs. I have literally made up to 12 pounds of ground beef into this recipe before. I leave some of it in the fridge along with the toppings and I freeze the rest for easy meal prep and also easy Keto meal prep in the future.. Mama Julie’s Taco Meat. 4 lbs. ground beef. 4 slices of bacon ( more of less if you want ). 1-2 cups chopped onion. 2-3 tsp. cumin – You might need more if it isn’t fresh ground or you have had it a while.. 2 tsp. ground coriander. 2 Tbsp. mild chili powder – you can use hot if you like it hotter however I make this so everyone can eat it in my family…but hey you do you!!!. 1 Tbsp. onion powder. 1 Tbsp. dried oregano. 1 Tbsp. garlic powder. 1 – 1 ½ Tbsp. Lawry’s garlic salt. 1 Tbsp. tomato paste. 1 Knorr Homestyle Stock Beef tub. 1 tsp. Lakanto monkfruit or sweetener of your choice. You want a slight hint of sweetness to balance out the spices.. 2 tsp. sweet smoked paprika. Fresh ground black pepper. Lettuce washed and dried ready to go for the. Bowls.. Lime wedges – you can squeeze a little fresh lime juice on each bowl or allow each person to do it for themselves.. See below for toppings.. Now no joke I will at times triple this recipe and make 12 pounds of ground beef at a time. Some goes for the current week and the rest will go in the freezer for future easy meals. If your making this for the first time however you might want to stick with the base recipe.. Allow your pot to warm up before adding the bacon. This will help whatever your cooking not too stick. Fry the bacon until it is done and set aside so it can cool. Once the bacon has cooled we are going to chop it up and add it back into our taco meat for additional flavor!!! The bits and pieces and bacon fat will be left behind to cook our other ingredients in. If you used a lot of bacon you may want to remove some of the bacon fat.. Cook the onions for several minutes or until they have a little color to them. Add in your ground beef and all the herbs and spices. Chop up your bacon into small pieces and add that back into the pot. While the ground beef cooks the bits of bacon will render down a little bit and release their yummy flavor and baste the rest of your beef!!! Cook until the ground beef is all done.. Notes: Now I like to make this up on the weekends and have it ready for everyone for the week. If you aren’t low carb you can use this for tacos and one trick I started doing for the non keto folks in my family is that I take two torillas and put cheese in the middle and pan fry it just like a quesadilla. Before it gets too crispy I remove it and use this entire quesadilla as my taco shell. Not only is it delicious but the cheese in the middle keeps your tortilla from tearing.. Toppings I like to use:. Guacamole and salsa or ( pico de gallo ) see my video for a recipe on that if you want.. Grated cheese. Sliced olives. Sour cream. Cilantro. Sliced green onion. Sliced radishes. Note: You can also use the taco meat on top of scrambled eggs in the morning and top with whatever toppings you want. It makes an excellent breakfast bowl.. This is also great when you have company coming over. You can put all the toppings out and have the taco meat keeping warm in a crock pot on low.. MAMA JULIES URL’S. Just made myself this, with a few slight variations (self made sofritas instead of lentils) and it was so SO good. I can’t believe I made this. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
The idea of combining red lentils and oats sound amazing! I am definitely trying this recipe. I love the idea of topping with sauteed green! What?!!! So excited about this! You guys are awesome!
This was sooo good!! I used green lentils and fresh tomatoes for the „meat“. Sadly the avocados I had weren’t good anymore so i didn‘t even have the guacamole. It was still so amazing! Thanks for making these videos, they are soo helpful and fun to watch
VEGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaassssss!!!!!!!!! I know this is a three year old video but I just found you and am always so happy when it’s VEGAN recipe!!!!!!! It’s just not the same when it’s not vegan, but we can change the recipe to make it vegan, you know what I mean? Is there a reason why you’re not vegan? If it’s too personal I understand, but it just seems that this day and age with all the information we have and clearly know about living a Vegan lifestyle, it just makes me scratch my head in confusion, this is such a great channel and you have such an awesome personality and you’re sooo smart and you obviously care about your health, your husbands health and the health of others, including your adorable dog, I’m certain that you love animals and you care about the earth…..hmmmmmm????♀️????? Vegan???? It’s so easy these days, there are soooo many awesome alternatives. I just found you and your channel and I’ve been binge watching it since and loving it and then I come across the animals and earth situation and it honestly is very difficult to watch and is becoming more difficult, dang it. I know the answer may be that I have to just not watch your channel, but I was thinking if I knew why or if you had any suggestions then maybe there’s a good resolution, what do ya think, am I asking too much, if I am I deeply apologize. ❤️Kathy
Just finished making and eating this delicious burrito bowl Thanks so much for the lentil “meat” substitute, it’s much more affordable to make and nutritious to eat.
I made this today and it was delicious! Definitely the tastiest meal I have had in ages, it will be in my regular rotation from now on. Thank you so much for sharing with us x
Were those spices supposed to replace or taste like taco seasoning? Because it doesn’t. I make a wonderful taco seasoning that is definitely taco. I used it and had a great supper with your recipe but my own taco seasoning
I made this. It took way way longer than 10 minutes but it is some of the best damn stuff you can put in your mouth! All the different components are fantastic, from the lime vinaigrette, the lentil walnut taco “meat”, all of it. If you eat dairy you can add cheese or sour cream. Would make a great party meal, vegan or no..subscribed, thanks!
So I’ve came to a decision to start going plant based. And I’ve been looking up recipes and cooking them and I was surprised how good all the meals taste without any meat. I made this recipe with the vegan burrito bowl and it was fire
4 lbs. ground beef 4 slices of bacon ( more of less if you want ) 1-2 cups chopped onion 2-3 tsp. cumin – You might need more if it isn’t fresh ground or you have had it a while. 2 tsp. ground coriander 2 Tbsp. mild chili powder – you can use hot if you like it hotter however I make this so everyone can eat it in my family…but hey you do you!!! 1 Tbsp. onion powder 1 Tbsp. dried oregano 1 Tbsp. garlic powder 1 – 1 ½ Tbsp. Lawry’s garlic salt 1 Tbsp. tomato paste 1 Knorr Homestyle Stock Beef tub 1 tsp. Lakanto monkfruit or sweetener of your choice. You want a slight hint of sweetness to balance out the spices. 2 tsp. sweet smoked paprika Fresh ground black pepper Lettuce washed and dried ready to go for the Bowls. Lime wedges – you can squeeze a little fresh lime juice on each bowl or allow each person to do it for themselves. See below for toppings.
Now no joke I will at times triple this recipe and make 12 pounds of ground beef at a time. Some goes for the current week and the rest will go in the freezer for future easy meals. If your making this for the first time however you might want to stick with the base recipe.
Allow your pot to warm up before adding the bacon. This will help whatever your cooking not too stick. Fry the bacon until it is done and set aside so it can cool. While the ground beef cooks the bits of bacon will render down a little bit and release their yummy flavor and baste the rest of your beef!!! Cook until the ground beef is all done.

Guacamole and salsa or ( pico de gallo ) see my video for a recipe on that if you want. Grated cheese Sliced olives Sour cream Cilantro Sliced green onion Sliced radishes

This is also great when you have company coming over. You can put all the toppings out and have the taco meat keeping warm in a crock pot on low.
Is this a commercial? I can’t tell the difference anymore all morning I thought it was a video It was a commercial I thought it was a commercial it was a video!
Yum!!! I can’t wait to try this! Iam flirting with being vegan, but really vegetarian right now and I can’t believe how much better I feel and how yummy Whole Fresh foods are!!!!
Whenever I am going to roast veggies like this, I get a gallon size storage or freezer bag, add some oil and herbs salt and pepper and I just mix everything until coated in the bag, and then pour onto my parchment paper on the cookie sheet. Works great. Just thought I would throw that in there. Great video though.
I have a question: I have been attempting to eat more vegan meals. I notice that a lot of vegan dressing recipes use maple syrup. Doesn’t that make it too sweet? I have maple syrup (the ‘real’ stuff) but have been hesitant to use it in a salad dressing. I have never been fond of sweet dressings….thank you
Hello, I am new to your channel and love it. Is there a substitution for the hemp hearts. My job does not allow me to use anything with hemp in it….Thanks for sharing…Debbie
Hi these look great I’m searching power bowls to include in my meal prep. What are the calories in these bowls and the protein/ carb deficits? I need a high protein low carb meal prep option.
That avocado pit tipis just genius!! I didn’t know that, so cool! Also, if you cut the corn off the cob before cooking, it cooks faster, it’s easier to season and you don’t need as much water 😉
These Power Bowls do look great and it’s good to know that they’re easy to make (and cheaper as in the fancy restaurants) But I do wonder how do you eat from a stuffed bowl like this? Mixing the ingredients before? Anyway, great video as always and you both are such talented, charismatic girls!
solo empaquetados… mucho alimento precocido.. a los latinos no creo que nos gusten muchos… creo que es mas sano lo natural… gracias por la ideas… el proceso si déjamelo a mi…. 😉
YUM!!!! This is perfect for our family of diverse eaters. My daughter is a vegetarian. My husband is a carnivore and I am an omnivore. LOL! Meal planning is CHALLENGING to say the least. Ha! Thanks for sharing your always wonderful ideas! It’s great to have more choices. Love and hugs, Kristin!
I made this. with some slight variants. but the “taco meat” and the salad are absolutely divine. I did mine as wraps. and happened to use a taco seasoning packet. ( UK adobo peppers/chipotle peppers can be hard to come by and I had the seasoning pk in.) I also subbed put lentils for Black lentils. ( This seems like a lot of subs now I come to write them down) I am not a vegan. I am not a vegetarian. I am choosing to eat less meat as part of my lifestyle and this will definitely be a repeat feature on my menu! thank you!
OMG, Its an Excellent Upload and ❤ Simply Awesome Thumbs Up..Thank you so much for upload & Sharing this Wonderful video with us. Stay connected & Blessed. My Dear Friend..❤❤❤
wonderful video! I looked very good…Commet. please….Passing Notes Approach by Bass Line…Custom or Thumb Over(Jimi Hendrix..or..John Mayer.)?research material. http://youtube.com/watch?v=EgffYEquioA … What do you think about this? please..listen to the guitar and ask to subscribe..
Avocado is not that healthy as some people think. It has very much fat. You should eat it 1 day every 2 week or make an avocado smoothie with a ripe banana if you like add some sugar. No hate but it looks good
It’s worth pointing out in case people don’t know: Wait til the food has fully cooled before putting it in the fridge, or you’ll make yourself very ill
Power bowls are great, but one thing you said wrong in this video is that fat is bad for you. Healthy fats are good for you. Avocados contain healthy fat. Unrefined coconut oil, grass fed butter, and red palm oil are also good for you. So-called “vegetable oils,” hydrogenated oil, and margarine are very bad though. Not sure about olive oil. Eating a low fat diet is a very bad idea, because then you have to eat high carbs, which will make you gain weight. The doctors are wrong about cholesterol and fat. They just want to sell those useless statin drugs.
I love these ideas! Especially the oatmeal/lentil bowl. I’m late to the party though, because nobody else has commented for a couple of years. I just recently discovered you. Thank you for posting.
I love that your nails are bare when you’re chopping the potatoes, but painted when you’re spreading them on the tray lol this looks delicious btw can’t wait to try it!
I’ve said this before, but have to say again. Love the two of u. Make me smile. My friends on the screen. Lol thanks for all u do. U never know how much u help.
I just made the Chicken Buddha Bowl! OMG, so delicious! I feel very nourished, like I did something really good for myself and it hit the spot. I’m going to be putting it into regular rotation for sure! Thank you.:)
Kale contains many beneficial nutrients, but it’s not good idea to eat these hearty leafy greens raw. Kale is a goitrogenic vegetable and when eaten raw in small quantities, this vegetable can inhibit the uptake of iodine by the thyroid gland. If it’s eaten in excess, these chemicals can inhibit the incorporation of iodine into thyroid hormone. This is a process that iodine supplements can’t reverse. (Source: Chris Kesser via The Thyroid Sessions) Raw kale is also high in oxalic acid, which binds with minerals such as calcium and magnesium in the body causing them to crystalize. These crystals can damage tissues, cause inflammation in the body and kidney stones. So a daily dose of raw kale and other goitrogenic vegetables may not be such a great idea.
A simple way to decrease the goitrogenic properties in raw kale is to boil it for seven minutes, drain and squeeze the excess water out. This will reduce the goitrogens by about 90%. After boiling, the kale is ready for a soup, smoothie etc
I’ve been eating vegan for nine days and noticed I’ve put on weight I’m a diabetic is that because I’m eating bread and carbs and it’s making me put on weight any advice would be great?
Love that oats and lentil combo idea. Wait, mushrooms and spinach too? A winning combo. Thanks for the great idea, and thanks for not calling the meat bowls “Buddha Bowls.” There are a few vloggers on YT that don’t understand BBs don’t have meat.
Just finished cooking this, with minor deviations from the recipe (spicier taco seasoning and beef instead of turkey, Alymer brand canned tomatoes with green pepper, celery and onion mixed in, and habanero shredded cheese for more kick) and besides forgetting to drain the tomatoes and having to cook off some of the extra moisture, everything went smoothly. digging in now, and it’s delicious! thanks for another great recipe, Tasty!
So sad to see the “Mexican taco bowl” as a real Mexican, our tacos are soooooooooooo different and tasty, and honestly please come to Mexico to try real Mexican food and become in love with our gastronomy, will love to see a mole bowl or a rajas poblanas recipes
I just made a version of the Chicken Buddha bowl. I didn’t have quinoa or chickpeas (clearly I need to stock my pantry)…or mango (oops)… so I put cooked chicken, roasted butternut squash, and roasted garlic broccoli on a bed of greens, with crumbed goat cheese, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds and a lemon/oil dressing. Thanks for the amazing idea, I’ve never put warmed vegetables on a salad!

Love it when you two do a collab! Definitely gonna try the almost breakfast bowl as I’m obsessed with oats as is and I have some red lentils I don’t know how to use x
Sorry, love your videos and channel but dislike this one. Have you girls tasted them exactly as they were presented? This is my personal view and i may b wrong. Reasons for dislike. The bowls look good however an exact same bowl might not be good enough in taste. Methinks. E.g. Salsa bowl has lot of rice (dry), beans (dry), very little salsa (wet item but on sour side). The bowl is tasted exactly as shown might not be good enough and may need more salsa or guacamole or sour cream. The mango bowl too has lot of quinoa and v little dressing. The egg bowl doesn’t seem to have much flavor, sort of bland as quinoa doesn’t have its own taste, neither does the egg, its only the spinach item that can carry flavors but we havent added much to it.
MMMMM….Yummmmm….Power bowls. That is so needed especially when midterms will be here in no time! We need all of the brain power we can get. Just made myself this, with a few slight variations (self made sofritas instead of lentils) and it was so SO good. I can’t believe I made this. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
That bowl does not have sufficient carbohydrates, you will be hungry within an hour. You should put another portion of potatoes or rice.
The idea of combining red lentils and oats sound amazing! I am definitely trying this recipe. I love the idea of topping with sauteed green! What?!!! So excited about this! You guys are awesome!

❤️Kathy
Love, Love this idea. I am constantly meal prepping and i do my taco bowls a bit diff so this is just another great idea to add to my meal prep:)
Mama Julie’s Taco Meat
4 lbs. ground beef
4 slices of bacon ( more of less if you want )
1-2 cups chopped onion
2-3 tsp. cumin – You might need more if it isn’t fresh ground or you have had it a while.
2 tsp. ground coriander
2 Tbsp. mild chili powder – you can use hot if you like it hotter however I make this so everyone can eat it in my family…but hey you do you!!!
1 Tbsp. onion powder
1 Tbsp. dried oregano
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1 – 1 ½ Tbsp. Lawry’s garlic salt
1 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 Knorr Homestyle Stock Beef tub
1 tsp. Lakanto monkfruit or sweetener of your choice. You want a slight hint of sweetness to balance out the spices.
2 tsp. sweet smoked paprika
Fresh ground black pepper
Lettuce washed and dried ready to go for the
Bowls.
Once the bacon has cooled we are going to chop it up and add it back into our taco meat for additional flavor!!! The bits and pieces and bacon fat will be left behind to cook our other ingredients in. If you used a lot of bacon you may want to remove some of the bacon fat.
Cook until the ground beef is all done.
Not only is it delicious but the cheese in the middle keeps your tortilla from tearing.
Toppings I like to use:
Guacamole and salsa or ( pico de gallo ) see my video for a recipe on that if you want.
Grated cheese
Sliced olives
Sour cream
Cilantro
Sliced green onion
Sliced radishes
Note: You can also use the taco meat on top of scrambled eggs in the morning and top with whatever toppings you want. It makes an excellent breakfast bowl.
This is also great when you have company coming over. You can put all the toppings out and have the taco meat keeping warm in a crock pot on low.
Is this a commercial? I can’t tell the difference anymore all morning I thought it was a video It was a commercial I thought it was a commercial it was a video!
I’m definitely going to try this!! It looks delicious, filling and fresh:)
Also, you are absolutely a stunning goddess thanks for sharing!
I love the name sweet potato soul! And I like the fact that you use oil and some salt too! Great job I subscribed!!!! Can’t wait to see more! Thanks
Yum!!! I can’t wait to try this! Iam flirting with being vegan, but really vegetarian right now and I can’t believe how much better I feel and how yummy Whole Fresh foods are!!!!
I’m a new subscriber, and I love all of your videos! It’s nice to find a healthy YouTube channel that’s not all about being vegan.
Also, if you cut the corn off the cob before cooking, it cooks faster, it’s easier to season and you don’t need as much water 😉
looks incredible but who has the time to make 9 separate components to their lunch? I would only make this for a party and have a taco bar.
NOW THATS A DELICIOUS FRESH AMAZING SPEAD!!! Girl I love bowls… And your bowl is the F BOMBBB!!! WOW! You rocked this out girl! Love ya honey!
That ground beef chopper looks neat, I’ve never seen one of those before! And those taco bowls look so delicious! You make Keto look good!
Avocado is not that healthy as some people think. It has very much fat. You should eat it 1 day every 2 week or make an avocado smoothie with a ripe banana if you like add some sugar. No hate but it looks good
Looks delicious. I would love to see more lentil meat substitutes. I have Hashimoto’s and it’s not recommended that I do any soy type products.
It’s worth pointing out in case people don’t know: Wait til the food has fully cooled before putting it in the fridge, or you’ll make yourself very ill
tried this and was surprised, if you do it right it’ll easily make 6 portions. To add a little more carbs I included some mini tortillas to make tacos
Beans and corn straight from the can are gross. Also, your coworkers are gonna love you farting all over the office all week.
What the fuck is that taco seasoning? Where in the fucking world in Asia am I going to find that? Is there a more authentic way of getting it?
this is mexican food? I don’t think it is what the fuck is taco seasoning? everything inside a tortilla is a taco so what is taco flavor?
this is mexican food? I don’t think it is what the fuck is taco seasoning? everything inside a tortilla is a taco so what is taco flavor?
I will never understand what you mean by taco seasoning.. I’m from the worlds taco capital and gave never heard of it. ‘Mericans smh
Shouldn’t be eating Kale raw.
http://deliciouslyorganic.net/green-smoothie-recipe/
I love how they naturally seem so happy around each other. reminds me of that beautiful relationship between Miles Kane and Alex Turner
Wow this looks great! I’ve been trying to find more Spanish dishes to help me transition my family to the vegan life style ♥︎
Such GREAT ideas! I can’t wait to try these. I really enjoyed watching this channel. Both of you are so cute with the humor. Loved it!!:-)
Hi! Thank you for this. What editing software do you use? Like when you made each igreadient appear with the words and arrows? All the best.

The chemistry between you two is unbelievable! So quirky and not fake. I will be subscribing to mind over munch as well. Great video!
How weird, exactly what I am planning for dinner tonight….down to using ground turkey…..how coincidental LOL!!! Great minds think alike LOL
