Grill, covered, over medium heat for 8-10 minutes or until tender, basting with reserved soy. Toss sweet potatoes, oil, smoked paprika, and cumin in a large bowl and season with salt and pepper. Grill sweet potatoes, turning occasionally, until.

To serve, sprinkle potato pieces with cilantro. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully add in sweet potato wedges and cook until fork tender, about 6 minutes.

Drain the water then add in the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper to the same pot.

  • I don’t like how people are with people who don’t eat meat it’s a life style choice, I am and I never enforce my views on others! But these are good lol

  • A question for you boys: Instead of canola oil, would olive or avocado oil work as well? Great work, BTW. Keep the good stuff going!

  • Makin these on superbowl sunday for the fam! Great vid tutorial n sound effects hahaa had me chucklin for a bit! ;p
You’re da ISH DJ BBQ! Keep doin what u do!

    From your friends in Cali!

  • I already told you. even i was very sad since i workout well for abs but nothing was coming. Listen to this do you know about the 7 odd foods that kill belly fat if you don’t know about them you must see this. i found it here

  • Are you using egg whites instead of say oil, because seasonings stick better to egg whites than to oil, or because you’re trying to avoid fat? I’m not a bodybuilder and not worried about weight so I’m making this with olive oil instead. I also read that the beta carotene is easier for you to absorb when you eat it with a little fat. But that’s not why I’m doing it. I don’t know what to do with the yolks and I don’t want to toss them. But that’s just me. If your using egg whites because seasoning sticks better than to oil I’ll find something to do with those yolks!

  • Hands down the best darn wedges ever.
Meant to try them when the recipe first came out had them the other week gad damn those are some rockin sweet taterz.

  • I wanted to make the wedges cripsy and crunchy. Sweet potato don’t swing that way, so I battered the wedges and deep fried them. Then you got that sweet, soft and juicy inside enveloped in a crispy outside. All I can say is DAAAAMN!

  • New subscriber, came here from Sorted food, love your recepies. However, wondering how you do BBQ in the UK.. we never have the weather for it.

Also, quick tip never freeze sweet potatos, they go very soft if you do.

  • love sweet potatoes.usually mivrowave my sweet potatoes, pe3l them first th3n fook them 7n a bowl, wdd b6tter and a sugsr cinnamon sprinkle.can eat it every meal. so good year round.but now is the time to fet them cheap.

  • Oh my god. These are so fucking good. I did mine in oil instead of egg whites, and applied a generous amount of McCormick’s herbs and garlic.

  • All the rest of you in the comments are free to be annoyed at Tim’s repetitive mentioning of his eating habits all you want. All the parkour in a COOKING VIDEO makes no sense. Who the hell cares? Sure your fangirls would love to see you do anything, but this a cooking video on a cooking channel. Stick with the cooking. You could have made this video 1 minute long.

  • How do you know they’re done??? Till they get soft like russets? I just made some that took forever with some hard nasty parts. 1st time ever eating sweet potato

  • I made this, but I peeled the skin and the wedges came out sticky on certain parts of the potato but it’s soft inside… How do i get it soft on the inside and outside? Sorry if it’s a stupid question ahaha xx

  • 1. Wash sweet potatoes. They came from the ground.
    2. Why would you not season with salt? It’s fundamental if you want your food to have any favour at all.
Seriously, why are you making cooking vidoes for the internet when you don’t even know basic stuff like that?

  • Hello! Perfect very good! Delicious! Congratulations!
Thanks for the visit! Helps me a lot!
    Success, ALWAYS… Good Week!…. #dgtudo

  • This is the perfect appetizer, it is quick to make, very delicious and guilt-free. The sweet potato is full of flavor and spices and the aioli is a great dip. The next time I make aioli I will do it your way

  • Came to watch how to make sweet potato wedges
Ended up watching a generic narcissist vegan showing off how good his parkour skills are

  • Loved the recipe man. It’s pretty similar to how I do it too except that I use dry herbs since the fresh ones are way too expensive here. My sweet potato wedges always end up a little softer than I would like though. I’ve tried slow and fast baking as well as par-boiling and then broiling but they are always a little soft in the middle. Is there any way to get them nice and crisp like regular potato wedges without having to slice them too thin(which is the only thing that worked so far among my experiments)??

Btw did you have a different camera man today or did he forget his tripod? Why was there so much camera movement through the video?

  • So these cook all the way through on the grill, not trying to be sarcastic, just curious. Do they get softer? Beautiful idea and presentation

  • So this is what you’ve been doing, Micheal. I’ve not seen your vlogs for awhile, then I stumble upon a cooking channel you’re on. I had no idea you had a cooking channel. I’m gonna give these a go, minus the egg whites.

  • OMG I can listen to this dude talk for hours . I love sweet potatoes. I only knew how to boil and mash them. I’m happy I get to try something new. Can’t wait to try this recipe

  • This man is so annoying. I have seen him on other things and he just spouts such rubbish. He also has one of the most annoying voices. To me it’s like nails scratching a black board.

  • i just harvested some sweet potatoes now i am gonna have to do this!hey bpbs saw you on cptv nice show your just up the road from me!

  • “Isteni “finom és nagyon egészséges.!!!!!

  • tried these last night, the misses and I loved them. served them up with a couple of Rib eye steaks, there’s no vegimatics in my Pit!!! thanks again Pit Boys.

  • Better idea:Dont peel them, cut in pieces, pour some olive oil on top and add spices and boom. You dont need to waste egg whites, also dont use cooking sprayshit

  • Hi, have you tried “MuscLeader” (just search Google)? There you can watch a great free video demonstrating the right way to build noticeable lean muscle quickly whilst dropping body fat as well. Chris and plenty other guys experienced good results because of this strategy. Hopefully it will work for you as well.

  • Que delicioso y saludable aperitivo. me encanta las especias que utilizaste para condimenta,, el tomillo y la paprika y se ven tan perfectas con el Dip de yogurt Aioli y el toque final de perejil fresco. Me encantaría probar. Que tengas un dia maravilloso.

  • I made this exact recipe this evening hoping that it would be the first sweet potato recipe that I liked (I hate sweet potatoes). Sadly, I still hate them. My wife, son, and in-laws went crazy for them though. Especially with the sour cream spread made with good fresh bacon and fresh pressed garlic.

  • I’ve yet to see a single sweet potato recipe that doesn’t use Paprika. I swear they are all the same, the only variations being some aspect of food prep. Some say soak, others not.

  • Wow so so yummy and healthy ive been looking for new recipes how to cook sweet potatoes. This video came in the right time Thaaank youuu. A big thumb up for the video and for the beautiful presentation i will definitely cook it this way next time

  • I like Jaime Oliver but man, he really likes to bring in a lot of pretentious assholes. I want to look at a cooking video, not some random prick run around and let people know he’s vegan over and over again.

  • Oh my goodness this grilled sweet potato looks absolutely superb! Real comfort food!! Well done my friend!❤

  • These Sweet Potatoes Looks So Delicious, And Im Growing Sweet Potatoes In My Garden This Season, I Will Try Your Delicious Recipe, Thanks For Sharing.

  • I just bought a sweet potato last night. This will be a fun way to serve it! Love the gorgeous grill marks! Great tapa, Albert!

  • You should really include the parts where you’re cutting the potatoes, adding the seasoning, and adding the egg whites. Having someone actually see these steps will help a lot for someone who has never done any of this. Especially with the egg whites since some people might not know how to separate them from the yolksz

  • looks so amazingly good well I bought this grill from my Costco I work at and im teaching myself how too grill veggies and basically food in general I never grilled before hahahah so I hope I know how too work this shit hahha

  • Thank you for the video but, I wish you would’ve shown how you were flipping the wedges over. Were you flipping them side to side? i’m confused

  • Nice vid apart from I wouldn’t use flax oil, rather olive, rapeseed or sunflower. Flax obviously is rich in omega 3s but is a poor cooking choice. I’d rather sprinkle ground flax seeds (as I do) on something if I was concerned about getting enough Omega 3s.

  • Hello, have you heard of “MUSCLEADER” (just search Google)? There you will find a useful free video featuring the right way to build up notable lean muscle quickly while losing unwanted fat simultaneously. Kev or many other guys like him experienced great results utilizing this technique. Perhaps it will help you out as well…

  • These boy’s have never led me wrong they have to be the best grillers in the world! Every time I’m stumped on what’s for dinner I pull one out of the hat thanks to these boys.

  • It tastes okay for me but my husband is obsessed with this sweet potato recipe. The egg whites became like plastic ish and feels a bit extra somehow?

  • Thank you so much for sharing this video.  I plan to make this dish and try other dishes by the BBQ Pit Boys.  I like
the way they cook; they even help the person like me who is still learning.  God bless you!

  • Sweet, I cut them as instructed, sprinkled olive oil, a touch of brown sugar. I made it my main meal with a side of chicken breast. Thank you.

  • Sweet potatoes are my favorite snack. I eat them without any spice nor oils. I simply microwave them: I wash the sweet potato, wrap it up in paper towel, 3-4 sheets will do, then I wet the paper towel and put into the microwave for about 7 minutes (my microwave is very powerful), in some microwaves it will take a little longer. Just pay attention and check if your potato is soft, if so, it’s done. Cut it and enjoy. I think they are very sweet and delicious by nature, they don’t need anything else, but you can have it your way.

  • Par boil the sweet potatoes for 5 minutes then refrigerate them. Grill them about 3 minutes each side for grill marks(direct heat) then bake them (indirect heat) 5 minutes a side finishing with a glaze or toppings extra minute or so (for cheese to melt) worked fine for me!

  • Wow this is really phenomenal, think of these delicious baked sweet potatoes as an accompaniment to a super burger those, loaded with barbecue sauce and much, much melted cheese, that mayonnaise with herbs, crispy lettuce, tomato and a touch of hot sauce oh my God, it’s a full meal! 2016 success DJBBQ starting the year at full power!

  • Signed your petition! The sweet potato is an amazing fruit, much better than the normal potato. And it could help to save so many lifes! (and it’s delicious, by the way, especially served hot and rich, like you did!)
Of course, for a healthy diet, you have always have to add at least a bit of milk protein. But as you did this in your recipe I have no complains at all. I just hope that you don’t mind that it was a gay man who posted this comment.

  • Dear Tim, made your dish, with olive oil and paprika + turmeric, ground coriander and a tiny pinch of masala, and it turned out delicious!!!

  • I’ve never seen this guy before (I’m in the States). That’s a very accomplished man. I’m so envious. Athlete, break dancer, vegan chef. Oh well, off to drown my jealous sorrows in some sweet potatoes. Omnonmnom.

  • Dumb question, but are you parboiling to cut down on cook time or is it the size of the wedges? I’ve always don’t thinner, and just used some oil. Takes about 15 minutes.

  • 1. my sweet potatos kept falling throught the cracks. so my grid must be bigger that yours.
    2. how long did you have ot leave them on there

  • Can’t get the staff these days can you, Mate? XDAce looking recipe mate. I for one love all the sides and other non BBQ recipes you do, just as much as your forte recipes.  Keep up the good work my friend. Thanks for sharing

  • Bizonyosan itt is megteremne!! Egy próbát megérne!!! Nagyon egészséges és ” mennyei “” finom!!! Jó volt látni, ha csak egy pillanatra is!!

  • That is an amazing appetizer, I have never been a big fun of sweet potatoes(I found them too sweet:), but you just changed my mind with this recipe!

  • Like always, fantastic what you are doing! Perfect for my mexican party today. Tastes really good. I love it. Greetings from Germany!

  • I love grilling my sweet potatoes, it really brings them up a notch! Yours look so good and such an easy and flavorful sauce! Great recipe Albert!

  • Think you guys need to ditch the idea about using paper plates. If you can pack all your stuff into the pi, then,  why can you not bring along camping plates instead of paper plates? You are not using a plastic knife or using card board as a cutting board are you?

  • Excellent recipe. Did you lose some weight pal? I’ve been watching all your vids, and noticed you dropped some lbs., in any case, thx, love the vids!

  • My goodness… that looks tasty. I am really enjoying the fluidity of your videos! Very clear and precise! I’ll have to give this recipe a try sometime!

  • You had me at sweet potatoes! Love them! Of course Yams are good too but i won’t open that up for argument lol. They look so good! I always love seeing your homemade dips like this yogurt one, looks so good! Chris

  • I agree. Sweet potatoes are the best and I used them all the time in bakes, bread, food and just yum.
Looks very good. Yum. Love that pan you have as well. Cheers and Happy Eating!

  • Way to tell those ingredients who’s boss! Get in there garlic! Get in there salt! Come on pepper! Simple, yet killer recipe. Dig it!

  • This has got to be my side the next time I’m having steak for sure!! Oh and I will be blastin’ some proper tunes too, how about some Pantera, Megadeath or maybe some Slayer? Great recipe DJ!!
