  • I cleaned my pantry today and found 22 cans of refried beans! Why I bought so many; no idea! I need to make burritos!

Tortillas at Costco are $2.95 for 60. If I can’t make it to Costco, Dollar Tree has good tortillas 10 for $1.

  • I love a fry up finishing with the eggs and putting lid on it to finish. On of my favourite things for an afternoon feed. Epic tactics

  • Im going to guess this is what rich Mexicans eat? Cause I’ve seen all his Mexican dishes and none are like the food I grew up with in Mexico, if you want to see what I think real authentic Mexican food is look up “de mi rancho a tu Cocina.”

  • First thing coming to my mind, the voice of a granny saying… Qué estas haciendo mijito, no no no quítate yo lo hago (what are you doing kid, no no no take off I do it)

  • The way he breathes during these videos makes me feel like we woke up at 1:09 AM in a cold sweat and immediately goes into the kitchen to make food.

  • yes that’s the problem in canned it’s really thick we are Asian mom would make Mexican and microwave it but on stove pot it’s more nice cause we can water it down and add more spices so it doesn’t seem like canned. I love just beans and cheese and I really like eggs and potato cheese susah

  • That’s more of an American version, because an authentic Mexican would never use can tomatoes or can beans, since the flavors are completely different. Other than that, it does look delicious

  • For the actual food part, it’s a little hard to understand since you talk so fast. Overall, love the video and actually trying out these tortillas!

  • I’m mexican and maybe that’s not a real mex recipe but anyway I respect ur work here and apreciate the interest in my culture. Btw that looks tasty

  • “ItS nOt rEaL mExIcAn FoOd.”
Shut up, stop being cringe. It’s his adaptation of what he’s tried and what he likes. It says inspired not authentic.

  • Alright! Mexican’s getting frustrated here, but let’s be honest he is more like celebrity so take it easy.
He also cooked Carbonara under 10 minutes time with peas and parsley

  • I’m starting my diet soon… Well pretty soon and you know what? This gonna be my daily breakfast. Except the beans I’d throw in some chicken in it.

  • You can make your own tortillas Rhoda they’d b cheaper! We have bean and cheese once a week…I make the beans from dry in my crockpot and freeze the rest to use for tacos or nachos or more bean and cheese

  • The title of this video is an insult to mexico and his food, we NEVER, NEVER cook and eats egss like that, sorry but you no have a 1% idea of spicy mexican eggs, in a traditional spicy eggs we no use red onion, no use garlic, NEVER USE a can of sauce, and never mixed all and put in the oven, for that plate the correct title is vomited of gordon ramsay, pleaseee never in your life try to make mexican food..

  • watching this during corona, and the ww2 rationing has me going Mhmm>>>!???? as I eat my basic bitch wheat tortilla cheddar ham qesadila type sandwich

  • This is Mexican inspired. You think what your Abuelita or Mom cooks can get into a Michelin starred restaurant??? Nah..guess again. This is a world famous gourmet chef making a gourmet dish with Mexican ingredients. Sorry it isn’t smothered in cheese and uses half a bottle of mazola. Expand your taste buds

  • I don’t like this guy Joe Wicks his recipes make no sense whatsoever.
I bought his book long time ago changed my mind and i just chucked it at the charity shop.

  • En mi México querido no hacemos mugrero.

    ¡¡¡¡Todo fresco, Papito!!!!
Y de donde yo soy ni conocemos el queso

  • Uhmmmmm NO! You need to meet Abuela Mr Ramsey.

Ps beans in can is big NO in Hispanic families…you get a chancla if you do…..WHERES THE CILANTRO AND TAPATIO…..FRIED JALAPENOS, QUESO COTIJA….

  • P.S. I had the perfect salad in Mexico last week but I know I won’t be able to make it turn out right without a recipe. It was double portion butterflied grilled orange shrimp over dressed greens with a creamy Chipotle dressing. I don’t know what the greens were dressed with that was separate from the showcased dressing. It was culinary perfection that makes you rethink everything about food and how you want to live….

  • I tried it and it was !!
I even did the pickle but I also added red onion and he was right this is addictive!! I also added some chop green onions on top of my dish! What can I say?.I like onions and I like to experiment.

  • Pretty disappointed with how my tortillas came out. I used your measurements and my dough came out way too flaky. I tried to hydrate it a little more but by that point it wasn’t happening. Then when I cooked them up they ended up being brittle and crunchy, not pliable.

I’m eating cup of noodles for dinner and sitting here all depressed.

  • He sounds like he’s trying to copy chef Johns narration style. Is it me or? I don’t know there’s just too much resemblance of chef John here!

  • So Americans eat Tacos for breakfast? No wonder your country is filled with obesity and coronary/heart diseases along with diabetes and cholesterol.

  • Why no be watch?

  • I made it this morning. I used refried black beans because I didn’t have the whole beans on hand. I had a mild jalapeño. So the resulting dish looked very green. I added a bit of coriander chutney on top. Tasted great! Thank you!

  • This is just breakfast. A late night snack consists of opening the fridge once and the cupboard once without the use of the stove. Example: cereal.

  • I love yiu for that recepie, so healthy, so delicious and definitely not boring!!! Now i have butterflies in my stomach:D:*:*:*

  • I don’t like to cook. I just like to look at Jamie. Although, I might actually buy that cookbook. Then date someone to cook for me.

  • Please never cook again something “Mexican” with cumin. Your tortilla lasagna with tomato sauce doesn’t look appetizing at all. Please do your research and look for ANY egg recipe, Mexican cuisine has tons! Huevos con machaca, mexicanos motuleños, ahogados, a la albañil, con mole, etc.

  • I know you can exclude the chile but every freaking recipe Jamie and his friends always load on the chile! This dish is so overpowered by the chile that it has no taste but hot! Look at his partners first bite reaction! I look at Jamie’s dishes and exclude the chile every time and it makes the dish so much better tasting!

  • I got two things that are wrong with this video:
    1) it is not Mexican plate, it is just food with ingredients common in Mexico
    2) when you want to eat real Mexican beans you make them yourself, buy the grains from the market and boil them until they turn into real beans, not just buy them from a can because that takes out the real Mexican flavor that makes them taste so good in the first place (homemade beans and canned beans are very different from one another)

  • What is up, my dudes! So like, when did Jamie get hot?? I used to watch him on TV like in 2007-08 and he was this adorable poofy-cheeked guy trying to get people into eating better. Ten years later and he’s suddenly super finehimself suddenly quite a tasty dish?!? I mean, I’m not complaining, it’s just a great curiosity to me. Ah well. Just wondering. Carry on. Get ya fine self back in the kitchen, tell me all the food stuffs, Jamie.

  • Take those corn tortillas, dice them, fry them with oil and butter, once they turn golden add in some diced bell peppers and jalapeños, let them sautee lightly then scramble some eggs. Mmmm Migas

  • 3:10 as said before, in the end, I would definitely eat it.
I don’t care I disapprove of most of the ingredients.
I am sure it is extremely delicious. It’s food, you ought to love it, eat it and enjoy it.

  • Why is it that Pinto beans are almost left out of Mexican recipes. Pinto beans are just as available as black beans, and just as tasty and nutritious. Love to both of you! Joe, I try to do some of your exercises (modified, due to a feeding tube in my jejunum).. But, try to stay strong and healthy. Thanks again Gents for this recipe!!!

  • I love everything you do bro but damn bud you fucked my culture up with that’s Austin style breakfast burritos tortillas were on point though. Austin is a plethora of culinary cuisine but I’ve never had good authentic Hispanic breakfast there

  • Im mexican, i live in mexico, and never we eat this thing in a breackfast, we eat for breackfast fruit or chilaquiles of real soft mexican tortilla, no the american tortilla that look a like a tostada

  • Oh God,… dear Jamie… as a Mexican that I am. Sorry but that’s not Mexican, and not even sure that is texmex, please make a better research before you make another “Mexican dish”

  • You know, I’m trying to juxtapose this with what my grandma would make me for breakfast, and I’d say really all that was done was make the meal look fancier. I mean Mexican cuisine is not suppose to be “healthy” YOU FORGOT THE TORTILLAS! And also she never cooked the avocado… Interesting input though.

  • Why no be watch?

  • Greetings from Germany, every Afternoon i lay in my bed and watching your Videos, than i get hungry but i have nothing to eat, so i whatch more Videos

  • Do the Fried Egg Chilli Chutney Sandwich from Red Dwarf!! I barely know what that entail but seeing Rimmer take a phat ass bite makes it sounds so goooood

  • Just made this guys, although I didn’t have whatever that green stuff was so I used jalepeno, lime, and cilantro.

    Do this. That’s all

  • As mexican, canned tomatoes is a no no. Also, i have never ever eaten anything like that. Crispy tortilla shell…. . But it probably tastes good. Just not mexican.

  • Hot avocado??? Ewwww!!!
    Avocado always goes fresh…
    Heres a recipe:

    20 Tortillas
(Harina de maiz o de Harina de trigo)
1 Tomato, half onion, 3 jalapeños, and one piece of garlic mixed with one cup of water and a pinch of salt in a blender. Then put it to boil…
Then start frying 5 eggs with canola oil. When they are half cooked, put the hot sauce on those eggs and let those egss completely covered. When the water has been reduced serve them with a side of refried beans.
Then have ready your whole avocado, and start making those tacos with the egg and sauce and some frijoles, throw in a slice of avocado and there you have! A REAL Mexican breakfast with fresh avocado.
Its great you have different takes on some ingredients, but some ingredients arent that versatile…

  • Looks appetizing. But with so much oil, spices in conjunction with the frying, if such a take in the morning, I’m just waiting for diarrhea on the way to work. =)

  • I had leftover rice from my garlic chicken recipe and added a can of black beans, water, more chicken bouillon, cumin and ended up adding some chunky salsa to it, and it made decent enough soup. Stuff like this usually tastes better when you freeze it, so I put it into containers. Good to have soup you can thaw out for a sandwich, and I do this a lot.

  • You make me laugh, how could anything looking like that taste bad. I bet it wasn’t. Thank you for sharing, love you much. Happy Sunday.

  • No mexican is eating canned beans don’t believe the lies this European man is telling you btw when he took those tortillas and added the egg all that is going to get you is looked at funny and laughed at and a Mexican grandma going que cochinadas estas haciendo

  • Your tortilla recipe seems to be very close to my late mom’s recipe for tortillas. Like many Mexican moms, she never measured anything and just knew how much of everything to use, but this gives me just about enough insight to try to figure out the quantities on my own. Thank you.

  • What did you think of Aldis? It will take you time to get use to it hun but like I said I shop at the dollar tree and Aldis. But with husband girl friend, I may not get to go much any more. Have a fantastic Sunday..hugs to you and your son for your lost.✌

  • LoooL los mexicanos no le pones limón a todo, pero el aguacate con un toque de limón es verdaderamente delicioso, igual ese huevo sabría aun mejor con un poco de cebolla frita y retirando el limón XD
    Saludos desde México =D
Greetings from México british people (and to all the people from other parts XD) =D

  • I am Dominican and love this recipe (whether is mexican or not) I prefer cold avocado:) I would be very thankfull if this famous chef promotes my countries´ cousine with a receipe here, even do is not perfect.

  • Last name first, first name last you can make a delicious soup with refried beans, just add chicken stock, squeeze of lime and coconut milk. Top with cheese, sour cream and cilantro, season as you like.

  • I feel like i wouldn’t like how mushy the inside is. I would like some bacon for crunch at least. Love what you do with the tortilla, letting it brown while it’s already formed.

  • I haven’t made this particular recipe yet; however, my homemade tortillas are thick and not very mailable. I don’t know, maybe this recipe is better. I used a press and everything. They just aren’t right.

  • I add a little taco seasoning to the refried beans and then make tacos with flour tortillas beans and cheese and bake in oven at 350 for 10 to 12 minutes they get these nice crispy edges and serve with sour cream and salsa great for a meatless night

  • No baby no…. Keep going south to the 956 and walk into any circle k and get it right. Don’t ever say Austin is a authority for breakfast tacos….or smoked meat for that matter. You are dissing every person from South Texas. Austin is NOT south Texas….

  • This is what I’m having for dinner. I make my beans in the instant pot a huge bag for a dollar and it makes about 6 or 7 cups cooked beans. I take what I need and freeze the rest. I making egg and bean burritos tonight. Tomorrow will be beans and rice with avocado

  • Okay guys lol it’s Tex Mex not pure Mexican MEXICAN lmao he’s not Mexican he doesn’t know Mexican style and cooking he makes the recipe his by creating it his way of serving Mexican food at his house lol

  • The only thing about his five ingredient book is that there’s never any room for garlic or spices. I love garlic, spices and herbs.

  • Ppl. Complaining bitch plz. Chef Ramsay is a Brit. N made his own Mex. Dish u don’t have 2 b Mexican 2 create Mex. Style food? That’s his own take based off Mex. Ingredients n common sense! Ha hehe!

  • Not gonna name any names: Torchy’s. It’s fucking Torchy’s. Come to further south in Texas and you’ll find a ton stronger flavored and better quality breakfast tacos. Majority of them are based on the salsa served, most breakfast tacos are in fact, basic.

  • People always looked at me all crazy when I ask for a over medium egg in a taco! Thank you for making that! It’s the best taco better than scramble!

  • Ok mexican inspired and all, but why, why would you drain the black beans like that? You took away a great part of the flavour and that is just sad

  • My mexican heart broken when he rolled the tortillas instead of using a Tortilla press xD

But then again wheat flour tortillas are not the most traditional thing anyways soooooo…

  • I told my wife why her tortillas dont look like yours and she told me to tell you to make me tortillas then. Can you make me tortillas.

  • As a Mexican, I don’t care about how “authentic” these tacos are whether they stay true to culture or have a twist to them, tacos are something everyone should enjoy how they like/prefer them without receiving criticism from others. It’s just food.

  • Freshly made flour tortillas are so good. My mom made a batch and I started toasting them and the amount of flavor they have when toasted is actually incredible.

  • I made the black bean puree last night. Get out! That flavor! (Yes, bacon would go really well with it, but I’m saving that for next time)

  • Nope! If you live anywhere near a H-E-B you take your ass there and get their fresh made warm flour tortillas, every time I’m in an H-E-B I buy at least one 20 pack.
