  • I make a similar smoothie, but I omit the cashews and chia seeds. Instead, I use rolled oats, almond butter, flaxseeds and almond milk. Creamy and delicious!!

  • Wow! Haven’t thought to put nuts in a smoothie, yet I guess I’ve put almond butter in one in the past! �� And, I totally need a vitamix. My Magic Bullet is not nearly as powerful! I make a similar smoothie, but instead of cashews, I add frozen peaches and raw kale! Yummy. Bananas make all smoothies good!

  • I do that every other day with the water, just like you, but instead of ice I also use a frozen banana…. Just peel a few ripe nana”s stick in bag, then in freezer, take one out when ready….# just sayin.. have a nice day…

  • Definitely use a flavored protein powder like Quest vanilla milkshake. You dont need a whole scoop. That and unsweetened almond milk will bring out the favor of the blueberries and the smoothie will be sweet. I still add ice to mine. If you use a whole scoop of sweetened powder definitely add ice and even a lil water.

  • It looks good despite the food coloring. All that milk fat and sugar in the written recipe…you are basically making unfrozen blueberry ice cream. So if you make this add about 1/2 cup of ice. Otherwise you might end up with a luke warm smoothie.

  • Blue berries are high in carbs and are not very keto friendly contrary to popular belief. 12 a cup is 11 grams of carbs which is either 1/3 or 1/2 of your daily intake limit depending on your fitness goals with keto.

  • Can I use my MCT powder instead of oil? If so will that affect the texture? I’m not planning on the protein powder because I’m good on my macros but needing something refreshing

  • can you recommend a vanilla essence that is common in Australia? i had a look today and many of them contained corn syrup or sugar cane syrup, wasn’t sure so didn’t buy.

  • probably tastes good but not healthy at all. the animal fat and cholesteral and bovine growth hormones, blood in the milk etc ruined it.

  • Guys, why everybody tries to add protein in each meal? Do you know that protein is the same bad as feeds cancer cells? We need protein a little, even once a day is enough! It is accordance to all proteins animals and plants. Vegans as well suffers of cancer God bless all of us!
    A friend of mine has suffered from breast cancer, she undergone treatments in Germany. The first thing was they completely put restriction to eat any proteins, but eat lots of fresh greens and made intro veinal vit C injections in big portions and blood fortification with oxygen blood transfusion ( that is why fresh greens goo to eat). Of course medicine was as well…
    The lady now for 6 year has rid off the cancer God bless her!
    So, please be careful with excessive of proteins.

  • Half cup of ice if your berries aren’t frozen
    1 cup of coconut milk (or almond milk)
    1/4 cup of FROZEN blueberries
    1 scoop of UNSWEETENED protein powder
    1 Tablespoon of MCT oil (IF adapted to keto, if not use only 1 teaspoon) C8 or C10 are both fine.

    Throw everything into blender

    Trying this recipe, but hate having to rewatch it to get the list, hope this helps others.

  • Thanks Dave! I love making smoothies with berries. I freeze the blueberries and don’t use ice cubes. Can add a banana, a little cinnamon, ginger lemon tea (no milk), for variety.

  • hey nearly the same i make……. at least the chia banana……. and blueberry…. but i use milkalmond and normal and no water……… no spiceys but……vanille proteins.(for more protein).. and alga powder…(for more minerals) the nuts is a nice idea……u can also add wheat germ.. or ricemilk soya…… i mostly mix to milks and look that one of it is sweet. and the good its really yummy… ps almond and cashwe are close only different big one almond got more calcium iron and zink… and cashew more magnesium

  • Low fat milk is very carcenogenic. Our bodies need the fat anyway, you cant use fat soluble vitamins A D E && K  without the fat. WHOLE milk is the way to go.

  • My little brother wants a blueberry smoothie but we dont have yogurt or nutmeg,so can we just put blueberries vanilla yogurt and vanilla extract and milk??

  • Two cups frozen Blueberries, fresh orange juice of two big oranges (or two cups unsweetened ones if you don’t want to juice), three cups vanilla or blueberry yogurt (don’t bother with the plain one, you’re just gonna have to add more sugar), and honey to taste (make sure to add to a bit of warm water to dissolve first).
    It’s quite sour but each flavors of all of the ingredients come through quite nicely, and most importantly less processed sugar.

  • Freeze your bananas before blending them. Game. Changer.
    Never use ice or water… only frozen fruit and juice bases. You’re welcome.

  • When I construct my blueberry smoothies: I use 1 cup soy milk. 1 ripe banana. 1 cup frozen blueberries & tbl.spoon of honey. Almost similar to you’re recipe minus the seeds. I would like to start adding cinnamon for an extra kick. Unfortunately I have to omit the seeds because of an aging diverticulitis issue. That won’t make or break the recipe will it? You say you use a handful of raw unsalted cashews? I can handle that, if they’re ground right. Thanx…

  • U should add honey or agave nectar for an alternative of sugar and instead of using whole milk use almond milk it taste good still especially if ur trying to diet and add vanilla protein if u don’t want vanilla extract it probably be better for weight loss as well but u don’t hav to listen to me I u don’t want so yeah ��

  • Unless it’s organic, all white sugar has GMO in it which is NOT healthy.  Why would you go to the trouble of making a smoothie & trying to be healthy, just to add a horrible substance like Sugar.  How about some raw honey?!  And Blueberries are PURPLE, not blue You HAD to add Blue Food Coloring which is a whole other discussion on NOT HEALTHY.
