Ingredients. 4 cup s Non-Dairy Milk*. 10 oz (about 3 cup s) Fresh or Frozen Strawberries, divided. 2 cup s Quick or Rolled Oats*.
1 tsp Vanilla Extract. 2 tbsp Maple Syrup, plus more to. Directions In a medium saucepan over high heat, bring 1/2 cup milk to a boil. Stir in oats, half the strawberries, and salt, then Serve oatmeal in a bowl and pour over remaining 1/4 cup milk.
Top with remaining strawberries. Make stovetop oatmeal (think milk + oats). Stir in a fresh strawberry purée along with honey, chia seeds, vanilla and almond extracts, and a pinch of salt. And then, to further enhance the whole strawberries and cream theme, swirl the already-yummy oatmeal with a smidgeon of strawberry preserves and a complementary splash of half-and-half.
In a 6 quart or larger slow cooker mix together the steel cut oats, milk, yogurt, 2 cups strawberries, cinnamon, vanilla and salt. (See Non-Stick Note to make clean up easier.) Cover and cook on LOW overnight for 6 to 8 hours or if making that morning, cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours. Strawberries and cream is a flavor combo that I just can’t get over. I love the freshness of the berries and cream adds that aspect of indulgence that I just love. This strawberries and cream oatmeal recipe is indeed made on the stovetop and eaten warm. Very Berry Oats: Top with any variety of fresh berry or a mixture; if using frozen berries, stir them into the oatmeal as it cooks.
Continue to cook, stirring and scraping the bottom frequently, until the foam subsides, the mixture acquires a darker, shinier look, and the berries appear softened and saturated with liquid, 20 to 25 minutes total.
Combine strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and sugar in large saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until berries begin to release their juices and sugar has dissolved, about 5 minutes.
Stir together 2½ cups fresh or frozen raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries, 3 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons water, 1½ tablespoons cornstarch, and pinch salt in medium saucepan.
In a saucepan, mix / cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, then add the crushed berries, bring the mixture to a boil, and cook until it clears and thickens (3 to 5 minutes).
Those are great for a quick breakfast I like to put my milk or yogurt in and leave it overnight so it only takes 30 seconds to warm up and it’s already absorbed I’m always in a hurry so I love these things thanks for the weekend video
I’ve actually considered doing something like this too. Personally, I hate strawberry but I love peach. I like the Quaker brand better. I purchase Kroger because it’s much cheaper than Quaker. Sometimes Publix will have Bogo deals and I’ll rack up. I also use less water to make the oatmeal stiffer and That helps the generic brand taste better. Great comparison!!
I’d get these in a Banana Cream or Peaches and Cream if they had them. These 2 flavors are just not for me although I think my Mom would like the Strawberry one. Thank you once again.
That’s way too runny for me. I like my oatmeal thicker. Kinda sounds weird but I actually add eggwhites to mine so it gives it more volume, cant taste the eggwhites and more protein ☺
