Chocolate Avocado Brownies with Chocolate Avocado Frosting

1/2 cup medjool dates (about 4.5 oz.), pitted. 1/4 cup coconut sugar (1.4 oz.) 1 tsp. vanilla extract. 2 large eggs.

Frosting. 1 ripe medium avocado (about 9 oz.), halved, pitted, flesh scooped. Stir in sugar, eggs, mashed avocado and vanilla and mix until smooth. Stir in flour and mix until batter is smooth. Pour the brownie batter into a greased 9 x 13 pan.

Bake the brownies for about 20 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Frosting: Blend 1 avocado with 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 2 tsp vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Step 7 Cover the baked cooled brownies with the frosting.

Place the avocado into a food processor or blender and process/blend until smooth. Stir the avocado, honey and vanilla extract into the cooled chocolate. Next, add the eggs, one at a time, making sure each is well mixed before adding the next.

Stir in the coconut flour and cocoa powder until the batter is smooth. Avocado Frosting. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line the base and sides of a 9 x 13 in pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang. Put the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a bowl set over simmering water, without it touching the water.

Dark chocolate and fudgy with a ganache frosting, these avocado brownies are the best. Made with nourishing, healthy ingredients, they’re also gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and vegan. Perfect for Valentine’s Day – or any day! Prep Time 15 mins. Cook Time 45 mins.

Using the same food processor – no need to clean it out first – pulse the ripe avocado, honey, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Taste and adjust salt, honey, or cinnamon as needed. Step 4 – Frost. In a large bowl, whisk mashed avocado and melt chocolate.

Whisk in sugar until combined, then add in eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Add in flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt, mixing with a large spoon until JUST combined – do not over mix. Stir in avocado oil until it’s well distributed and batter is somewhat smooth. Avocado Brownies with Avo Frosting. Yield: 12-16 brownies.

Brownies. 3 oz. dark chocolate (70% cacao), chopped. 1 Tbsp. coconut or extra-virgin olive oil.

  • Made them as soon as I came across this recipe. I followed the recipe to the letter however after trying one I had an after taste kinda like a little grainy and a tad dry. I’m guessing it may be the coconut flour?

    •1/2 flour + t of baking soda, pinch of salt
    •1/4 chocolate chips
    •1/2 chocolate/cocoa powder
    •3/4 sugar

    The video was lovely, it had a very hand-made, warm-sweet-home feeling to it.
