  • Shredded chicken is one of my favorite go to prep foods. I always love cooking chicken and shredding it and we can eat on it all week. This is especially helpful when my military husband is deployed and the kids and I are doing all the things alone and I just want to go out to eat. I always tell people about simple shredded chicken when they ask for recipes.

  • Having cooked chicken on hand is a life-saver. I cook two whole chickens in the crock pot every two weeks. On high for four to five hours with some seasonings and a few cups of water. Debone all the chicken (package that up) and throw all the bones and skin back into the crock pot with onion, celery, carrots, and a couple bay leaves and cook on low for 24 hours for THE best chicken stock (bone broth) for future recipes.   • I have been doing something similar! But I put the chicken breast in the crocpot with a little bit of chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. I’ve used the shredded chicken to make overnight baked taquitos/flautas, used it as terriaki chicken with rice and stir fried veggies, used for bbq chicken salad, quesadillas. These are great ideas I’ll definitely be making the bbq chicken potatoes! Trying to make dinner faster, but it’s hard when my husband has to have a meat, veggie, and carb, for every dinner ��

  • LOve seeing these recipes. Now to try them! You asked for favorite chicken recipes. My husband makes split pea and ham soup, every few weeks. Quick to make and delicious! We have had ground beef tacos, and those are quick. I would like to try these chicken tacos. I have made a chicken enchilada recipe, with a green enchilada sauce from Walmart. Most everyone who tries it has liked it.

  • Looking at my dad cook has taught me a lot about making good and balanced food quickly. The key, IMO, is to have food staples in the fridge and pantry: eggs, canned beans (or self-boiled and frozen) wholegrain bread, frozen vegetables for really busy days, fresh vegetables, cabbage (cut it up and throw it in raw or fried); stuff that is easy to handle and can be quickly served after a bried visit to the pan or kettle.

    Another thing is preparing stuff beforehand or making a larger amount of, say, vegetable stew on a day off. It easily goes for two or three days and can be supplemented with other ingredients “on the go”. I work mostly from home at the moment, so I usually throw my ingredients into an ovenproof dish and let them stew.

  • Since you’re trying to cut back on bread I HIGHLY suggest sweet potato toast!!! Just slice a sweet potato up like a loaf of bread (I like using my mandolin for even slices), very lightly cover both sides with olive oil, and bake in the oven until it’s how you like it. Then throw some scrabbled eggs on top (Gordon Ramsey’s style scrabbled eggs are AMAZING on sweet potato toast!) and it’s super yummy! The extra slices store well in the fridge for another day.

  • I put my chicken breasts in a crockpot with a bit of water and seasonings (salt and pepper). When done I shred the chicken, cool, package and freeze.

  • Thanks for the ideas and recipes! I have been using Italian dressing mixed with minced garlic as seasoning for pretty much all my meats, and then throw them in the oven. Makes for easy easing and it’s very flavorful. I keep an eye on finding Italian dressing with the least amount of sodium. The kids love when I cut the chicken breast in like small cubes and cook it in the pan until it gets a little brown. It’s our version of “chicken teriyaki “.

  • Husbands and kiddos are so high maintenance! So funny about slowly getting them used to veggies. I like just buying a rotisserie chicken and doing a ton of recipes with that. One chicken is good for about 3 meals just chicken served as is, tacos/chicken salad/etc, and the bones to make a soup. I actually have extra instant pot liners so on the weekend I put together meals and they just get popped in the pot the morning of, let it cook and then let it stay warm until dinner. Works great!

  • Just sending a little thank you your way for this workout! I was prego when you published this, but kept it tuck away til after I was through postpartum. I’ve been doing it for about 2 months now, and I feel amazing! My hubby loves how toned I feel. I love that it only takes 20 min for a full workout! I have my three 3-and-under littles with (running around) me, and it’s doable enough to sneak into our already full morning routine. One thing I noted was that after beginning other workout programs, the top of my thighs are often brutally sore (can’t go down stairs), but this was the first time that the back of my thighs felt like they got a workout (hello, operation booty section). My thighs definitely need some attention there, so am happy with that.:-P And you said to let you know, so YES, I’d love even more workouts from you guys!

  • Injured my rotary cuff after rotating my arms in the big circles that the group did at the beginning of this workout. Please think before you just do whatever is being done in a given workout… learned a lesson. I have two children, a three year old and a nine month old. I have been unable to work in the home and care for my children or myself without pain ranging from 1 to 6 in my shoulder, neck and upper arm. I know I need to baby it, and where the sling, I have done so two days unconsecutavcely but as moms, I’m sure you know that the sling has to come off every now and then. It has been three weeks, I heal a bit and then regress. It could take up to 8 weeks for an injury like this to heal and many people don’t heal and end up having surgery.

  • I love your recipe ideas with shredded chicken! I often cook a lot of chicken in the Instant Pot to shred and freeze in 2 cup quantities. (chicken, chicken broth, onions and garlic. Manual pressure for 12-14 min. Shred and cool.)

  • this is something you might like..1 can rotelle drained..1 can black beans rinsed..1 tsp cumin..1 tsp salt or to taste..1 TBS olive oil..and just mix. my family loves this with tostada chips.. got this recipe from Natural grocers.

  • doesn’t work, tried some of these, awfull. Recipes don’t work like they pretend they do, f.e. egg doesn’t stick to flour on a bell pepper. Dont bother trying these.
