  • If you save all those cottage cheese, yogurt, etc contaiers, they make excellant pots to start garden plants in the spring. Big enough to keep from transplanting some things twice.

  • If you ever find yourself near a restaurant supply store, I would suggest picking up some big mixing bowls there, they are a lot less expensive than target & walmart & will last a lifetime:)

  • what level of heat is the stovetop on while cooking the Rib Eye steak? the juice was clean (not burnt of overheated) probably Med low? it did show cooked for 30 secs then flipped but doesn’t say how long to cook it on the other side for it to turn out med rare… save the rude comments, this is only a question

  • Great recipes. Something you can do with your stuff Peppers. Add vegetables. Whatever vegetables you like at it. I like to add a frozen bag of Gumbo mix. Which is normally corn peppers and okra. And also throw in some spinach. You get your nutrients from spinach when you cook it. In Spanish is one of those leafy greens that you can add to anything and everything hot or cold. It’s kind of really just fill out that stuffed pepper. But great recipes all around

  • I never heard of tater tot casserole until I was much older (I’m a MN transplant). When I did have it, they didn’t do cheese…maybe that’s an Iowa thing. Lol

    I LOVE shepherd’s pie though. We also like hunter’s pie (use ground venison instead of ground beef).

    Also, fun fact…shepherd’s pie is made with lamb or whatever. Cottage pie is ground beef. Google…answering the questions no one asks. (I was trying to look up more ground beef recipes…lol)

  • I would not have thought to line up the tots, but now that I’ve seen it I can’t unsee it. My OCD self will totally line them up from now on. I don’t see how meal prepping will save me any time, but I’m glad it works for you. I just don’t spend much time in the kitchen. One of the things I do (sort of meal prep) is buy hamburger in bulk when it goes on sale and then cook and freeze in meal size batches. I use it for tacos, nachos, spaghetti, lasagne, stuffed peppers, pizza burgers. We love pizza burgers too. Ours is just buns, jarred sauce, hamburger (pre-cooked, frozen and reheated in the microwave) or pepperoni and shredded cheese.

  • I think the only difference with my tater tot casserole is that I mix cream of mushroom soup in with the hamburger. Then I layer the veggies then the tater tots and then shredded cheese.

  • Great video Jen. Just an FYI the reason there was so much liquid in the ground beef was because you crowded the pan so the liquid could not evaporate, it actually boiled instead of browned.

  • My family are all great home cooks so I grew up with family meals and honestly our recipes take so long to cook…
    My Mom has a myriad of health issues and does all the cooking and cleaning in her home. Getting a proper meal cooked on the table every night before my Dad comes home has become an increasing struggle.

    This year for Christmas I made them the Shepherd’s pie, taco soup, and tater casserole as their gift. It was a godsend as I’ve been out of work and had a lot of this stuff on hand. My BF and I doubled up the recipes and it was gifts for both of our families! Cooking full meals after Christmas is the last thing any Mum wants to do… Actually any time of year lol. But especially after Christmas… My Mum always goes overboard because Christmas is very special in our family.

  • That “eclair” was absolutely awful. An eclair is supposed to be light and delicate. Why use fresh strawberries to flavor a cream filling? You could have used strawberry preserves or even jam for that matter. Do they give strawberries away in your country? And dried strawberries on top?

  • How would you keep the potatoes warm while you cook the steak? Do you just pop it back into the oven while searing the steak to reheat in the residual heat?

  • On a first date would have to include a blue sky with reservations for 2 at a restaurant with a romantic view.
    Then afterwards a walk on the beach shore holding hands the whole way.
    Once that’s done it’ll set the mood for watching a sunset together, this is where I’d seal the end of the day with a romantic kiss ��.
    This might also lead to not wanting the day to end so we might just enjoy ourselves possibly smoke some weed watching the stars.

  • Naomi is just beautiful. I used to make a Friday night meal once a month at Salvation Army. It was kind of like your teriyaki, except I used boneless chicken breast, frozen oriental veggies, all over rice. I mixed the pineapple liquid and soy sauce and cornstarch, thickened it and then mixed it with the veggies and cut up chicken boneless chicken breast. They lovvvved it and always asked for seconds.

  • I’ve never had tater tot casserole but if I ever make it I’ll totally be an ‘even tot coverage’ kinda girl. When I butter bread or spread something like peanut butter, I always have to cover the entire piece. I always say ‘coast to coast’. My girls (ages 12 and 7) have picked it up and they do coast to coast coverage, too. Those tots were coast to coast and it was so satisfying.

  • Yummy, I know tin foil is cheap but have you considered to use reusable products for freezing the meals. Also I like using parchment paper rather tin foil it’s safer.
