  • The doc is gonna tear you up can’t wait So much cherry picking and strawmans present in this video. I can literally refute most of this vid myself and I’m not even Greg. All this to try to discredit his channel because you don’t agree with his ideology or his personality, Sad. Can’t claim ignorance as did enough digging to bring in his crime, which had no correlation with anything in the video. Really reaching at this point, such a low blow.

  • So for you all: i have it in grams per kg because i am an croatian.. so it s 1-1,2g per bodymass if you re not that lean and if you rlly rlly want to make sure and are abt 10-12% Bodyfat then it s up to 1.5g KG. More than that won t have any more benefit (study was done but i don t have the link anymore). Maintanance is 0.5g per kg which the body needs up to 0.8 g per kg and if you go higher it s ofc for getting muscle. But even with 1.2g per kg it should be more than enough. (for scared ppl 1.5g per kg)

  • Am I the only person on the planet that hates plain avocado? Love guac though. Maybe I can toast up some tortillas in the oven and do it that way instead.

  • The only way I can get that much protein without going broke is by eating a shit ton of dairy products like whey, quark and cottage cheese. However, I’m a bit considered that it may be unhealthy to have such a dairy-heavy diet… Meat is pretty expensive here, chicken breast is like 12€/kg ($5.5/lb)

  • I use that word
One of my favorite fruit salads is banana with avocado, grapes and strawberries and then you squeeze a little bit of lemon juice and a little bit of sea salt on it. It’s delicious.

  • As a beginner at 157lbs and around 25% body fat how could I consume 180g of protein?
That’d be like 4 eggs and a bit bacon in the morning
    300g chicken breast mid day
    A whey shake
At dinner AGAIN a lot of food

  • Abby talking about his steroid use is not defamatory or damning in any way. It doesn’t make you a bad person and he competed naturally for over 40 shows. Like seriously, just because he was on steroids doesn’t destroy his credibility or his personality on YouTube, in fact, it only makes him more educated on certain topics. So STOP tiptoeing around it.

  • While our general policy is to spend an 8 hour day watching YouTube content for a review, plus it generally takes an additional 8-16 hours for research / writing (depending on how many academic references I need to source/ read), it is impossible for me to watch an entire catalogue of a creator’s content. Not to mention, I even consulted two dietitian colleagues who specialize in this field and are familiar with Greg’s content and diet. While I stand by my critique of the content I saw and the words I heard from Greg, he has contradicted these statements elsewhere or provided context that I missed. because again, I didn’t and just cannot reasonably watch everything (see my thoughts below). Unfortunately for anyone (not just me) watching particular random videos (even much less than 8 hours), this context would be lost, as it was clearly lost of me and I was looking for it.

Upon further reflection, however, I did remove the part of my video discussing the video he himself had removed from his channel. If it’s on his channel, I assume it is still relevant in some way to him, but if he removed it, I am satisfied that he is no longer aligned with that content, so I must respect that fully.

I also need to disclose that we shot this back in March/April I believe (right around the start of Covid) as you can probably tell by my modest belly (I don’t look like that now hah). So because of that, I didn’t see his most recent videos and I’m including some learnings below from that.

I also am sure you know that I am watching Greg’s content from a very different lens and worldview given my professional and personal experience, and since Greg and I have very different communication styles, I likely just do not “get him”. I get the sense that his approach is funny or motivational to some people, and is just not my style. Having said that, I really tried not to criticize Greg himself, and stick to some of the comments he made.

My goal with these reviews is not to misrepresent a YouTuber, or tarnish their reputation. But rather, to look at how their recommendations may apply to the general population who can watch their videos from abroad. In this video, even when I made a comment or recommendation for the general population (non body building population), I gave lots of disclaimers and acknowledgements that Greg’s goals are unique and therefore in a lot of cases, I “understood” why he was choosing the foods he was choosing. I also think I gave Greg a lot of credit and respect in the video for his hard work related to his lifestyle, even if it’s not something I would recommend.

Also of course it would be great for me to review Greg’s cookbook, but as a general rule for these, I only review FREE content by a creator, and Greg’s book is $99!!!

And yes, I was able to see Greg disclosing his use of PEDs a few times in my research (ie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZKJwBLprlg ), but I was advised by my team not to repeat this back and to keep it top level. I don’t want to get involved in making legal accusations, even if they’re something a creator has admitted themselves. This is (as I alluded) why Greg can eat low fat, and I actually even said that his diet wasn’t even THAT low fat considering this situation.

A few updated notes after watching a few more videos:

Greg addresses genetic factors/ set point weight (here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fn7C7_SXmR0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoScJrCZjpU) – I’m glad to see this, and I know Greg is no dummy and he knows these play a role. But again, he still does heavily preach that weight loss is about calories in and calories out, and I don’t believe it’s THAT simple (set point/genetics/microbiome research are proof of that). So if he acknowledges these things, great, but his message is not consistent.

Yes, I assumed that anabolic diet and carb cycling are different, and that by anabolic he means “muscle building” aka high protein foods which is what I said. I was just stating how I have heard the term used “officially” in dietetic circles.

He does eat a lot of fruits and veg – Yep, and I applauded him for all the veg and I have no doubt they cover his micronutrient needs. He is doing great with veg! I still don’t think it’s a bad suggestion to add some berries for sweetness if one wanted to cut back on the artificial sweeteners even during prep. I’m not against using sweeteners in moderation, but when they displace nutritious food in large quantities, I have to question if it makes nutritional sense.

He advocates against bulking and extreme cutting for most people – I’m happy to see this isn’t a recommendation of his and I never said that it was. But as he said here ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHY1NExou3Y&feature=youtu.be&t=74 ), to suggest 1800 calories for women is too much for the average woman is incorrect. 1800 calories is not “a lot” for a woman.

He does not insist people push through injuries – I would hope not! But Greg himself stated that he was because there were “no excuses”, and I do believe as influencers, we need to be responsible for the things we ourselves are doing publicly. If you want to workout with a broken ankle privately, you do you, but when you say “no excuses”, it communicates to everyone else struggling with some kind of injury that they have no excuse, too.

He admits he’s not an RD and is just speaking from experience ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACS7a6Khmuo 0:37) – So glad to hear this. But like I say about all of the Youtubers who arguably have even less experience/ expertise compared to Greg (and I do think Greg has expertise in his field), we are all responsible for the content we produce, and the fact that he is profiting off of a cookbook and his content, means that people will take his recommendations as gospel.

His recommendations may help a large population who are looking to lose weight – There is no doubt that Greg and I have different audiences with different goals. And I can absolutely acknowledge that his recommendations (ie. Volume eating lower calorie foods) may help promote weight loss, and they’re not bad recommendations for that goal. In this video I specifically called out that Greg has unique goals and that a lot of the things he is doing makes sense in that context. But its important to keep in mind that a lot of people who are looking to lose weight, and who do have disordered tendencies/past will seek out this kind of weight loss content and it may trigger them into really problematic behaviours and thoughts. That is the reason I put in these trigger warnings, that is all.

Updated WIEAD from May OFF SEASON (after I shot this OG video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjcdzqhNtZo

    Some thoughts:

Breakfast – Blueberry French toast with fruit on the side and low calorie syrup. That fruit looks awesome and I love that he’s not skimping on carbs. Love that he encourages people to eat the bread they want (I said the same about his white French toast actually). Says not to skip breakfast because it increases ghrelin and to eat until you’re full so you’re not starving (YES AND YES).

SnackHomemade Skor protein bar. Looks super delicious and love the creativity.

Lunch – WW wrap + turkey + veg pepperoni + veg + sauces. Love that he says you don’t need “5 lbs of meat” and highlights how calories on packages can be deceiving plus adds lots of antioxidant rich veg. Plus lots of veggies – a great lunch!

Snack – Coffee with no cal syrups, sweeteners, high protein milk, popcorn and 1 piece of French toast. Great balance of carbs and a bit of protein to get him through his cardio.

DinnerPB & Chocolate Protein Shake with fruit. Again, great combo of carbs and protein to aid in muscle & glycogen recovery after workout.

Snack – 2 grilled cheese sandwiches with tomatoes with white and protein bread, and fat free cheese and light butter. Love a good GC, but I wouldn’t be afraid of using real full fat cheese (especially on off season) and I would probably bulk this up with a nice salad or veggie soup, though he did get a lot of veg at lunch so nbd. Love that he said the white bread version was better so its okay to go with what you love (no need to obsess over eating high protein).

Says his intake is low for him (3000 kcal) which is higher than what he was eating in prep, and that he is simply eating intuitively so he will eat more tomorrow. The big picture of calories is more important than individual days – and I 100% agree. Even when I give suggestions on specific meals I’m reviewing, it’s just as inspo for viewers on how to build a balanced snack/meal. How balanced or how much you eat in one meal or day has little to no impact on the big picture of health. I also like how he says when he’s not contest prepping, he eats by hunger and recommends eating “normal foods” ie. If you want a hamburger, eat other foods from his cookbook the rest of the day. I think this is pretty balanced advice.

    GREG VS ABBEY

Greg’s approach to food – Calories are king, volume eating helps fill you up, tough love approach.

Abbey’s approach to foodIntuitive eating/ movement, giving yourself permission to enjoy foods without guilt to prevent binge/restrict cycle, greater sensitivity to individual’s triggers/histories/experiences with food.

Similarities – Importance of avoiding fad diets/ extreme crash diets and eating enough and not skipping meals

Differences – Communication style, audience needs.

We can learn from different creators, and take and leave what we feel empowers and helps us.

    Hope that gives some clarity!

    With Science and Sass,

    Abbey xoxox

  • Brazil nuts are a great source of Selenium. Maybe too good? According to cronometer you only need ONE a day so I take ONE with my supplements in the morning.

  • Can we please talk about how Greg has been doing this for over 20 years. This man has his diet figured out and he has HIS way figured out for Comp prep that doesn’t lead to binging. I don’t understand how she keeps repeating “you do you Greg” and then goes on to say the actual opposite. If Greg has been doing exactly this for over two decades and hasn’t changed his ways guess what? Seems to work.
Yes he is a kind of passive aggressive, very blunt and loud person and you may not align with his claims or his personally but that doesn’t change the fact that what he’s doing works for HIM:)

  • You have good energy and thank you for sharing your ideas, I have been cooking more vegetarian lately and have to say I do feel better 😉

  • Dang, that’s a lot of grocery hauls hahaha as always: food looks epic end the info is high quality!

  • Though I am fan of greg for entertainment purposes, but I can’t agree more with the points you make. Also the fact that he is on HRT compensates for his extremely low fat diet which would not be case for normal people not on steroids or PED’s. And also just using tonns of syrups,a sauces and sweeteners. We just can’t get away with that with statements like ‘even if it would give you cancer but you will die shredded’ that’s self contradictory encouraging people to lead a healthy lifestyle. It’s just comfort foods that would manipulate a common man psychologically and would make agree with him because it adds taste and saves time. Just a human thing!:) You need rice and healthy fats and less of sweeteners and syrups. Entertainment is okay, laughing is okay, but not at the cost of health. No offence to anyone. Cheers.

  • You missed the moldy Blueberry French toast along with the yogurt and strawberry options he’s made. He eats fruit, just not a lot.

White bread is fine. Whole grain breads generally have more cals.

Your diet would be horribly boring for me, that’s why I like Greg’s way of eating.

  • I have always been confused by this measurement, is it saying 1 metric gram (1 / 1000 of a kg) per one US pound? why not just stay in one damn system if thats the case:(

  • I eat lots of apples and peanut butter but never together, they are so good by themselves. I’d stuff my face with cilantro and green onions or something way before I touched some celery, yuck.
I haven’t completely cut out an english muffin with peanut butter and cinnamon here and there…..but for someone against olive oils, why not just avoid bread altogether? are you serious about this shit or naw?? lol

    Olive oils >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>any Bread

even Ezekiel breads….I’d much rather eat anything else.

  • great information! My favorite snack is Cauliflower Hummus with cut up veggies. You can make a nice bowl of it that will last for 3 or 4 days. Found it from the Whole 30 woman.

  • Say if your a skinnier guy and you want to gain more when working out do you want to have more than 3 meals a day or just the 3 meals and higher calorie snacks?

  • Honestly don’t understand why people are picking Abbey apart when there’s like a thousand disclaimers in this video. I’ve seen a bunch of comments saying she didn’t do proper/enough research and that doesn’t make sense. She said she watched 8 hours of his content and discussed with colleagues. Mind you, she’s mainly watching WIEIAD videos which the nature of these videos are to give a standard/baseline of someone’s diet. If that’s not what Greg eats in a day and you’re mad at Abbey for commenting on it then you aren’t making sense. I’ve personally seen some of Greg’s videos and they aren’t for me, not that they can’t be for anyone else but Abbey makes a good point that if he’s putting potentially harmful information on the internet, then he should expect criticism.

  • HI Jeff are you suggestions just for men or the same for women because it’s imporatant to maintain more body fat for normal hormonal function?

  • Our ancestors wouldn’t have put their lives on the line for food if they didnt enjoy it? their lives WERE on the line to get it… just to survive

  • Not going to lie, I’m here because I watch Greg. She has such an annoying ass voice. She looks like the type of person that eats mayo out the jar

  • why does he sound like he’s rapping at 5:51 “healthy, give it that give it that title”. Sounds like a proper rap with the music behind

  • Man love everything about Rice Cakes, never thought to eat it this way CC and Tuna!!!!! Also, ate PBJ Rice Cake today. With tSP of honey.

  • The trail mix is my favorite especially “on the go”. I always have baked Yukon gold potatoes available, I love them plain and eat then like an apple for a snack.

  • It’s Nov 9, 2019. Just sent this to my 86 yr old diabetic mom who’s notorious for not eating til very late in day if that. Depends on 1/2 a banana & toast in morning. I’d really like to see her eat these snack/meals.

Thnx for your great content. Love you & Crystal too.

I fed my kids & I still eat apple w/pb or almond butter & cinnamon—yum. Also ants on a log were & are a big favorite. Love your info on bread & fruit which I think will be really helpful to my mom who is afraid to eat thanks to the typical misinfo spread by registered dietitians abt diabetic diets. Hope this helps her. I’m going grocery shopping for her tmrw so hopefully she’ll let me buy some of these delicious foods.

Keep up the great content Derek (and Crystal). I’m way over on other side of N Amer in US & am having a blast binge-watching your vlogs.✌

  • I made 2 peanut butter and bananas, and halfway through I was starting to get full. I couldn’t even eat the 2nd one! Thanks Simeon!! I added a little spiced apple spread to the top of the bananas and it was a nice “icing” touch (2 Tbsp for 30 cals).

  • A lot of you had questions about my (very) high protein intake on my last video so I decided to dedicate a full video to you guys! I hope you’re all having a great weekend so far and if you haven’t already, make sure you check out my last video on body recomposition which lays out some more guidelines for not just protein, but calories and the other macros as well. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4K0s792wAU Enjoy!

  • Amazing bro!,always keeping the high volume in the diet,in the bulking too. volume is key for the people with extreme hunger level like me haha!

  • Yeah those ‘pea crisps’ are just corn starch with a little bit of dried pea and green coloring. They’re just green cheetos, not good for you at all. Real veggie chips are sold in the Whole Foods bulk section and they look exactly like veggies (beans, green beans, carrot slices etc.).

  • Anyone tested out the Custokebon Secrets (search on google)? I have heard several amazing things about this popular fat burn method.

  • Nice Video clip! Apologies for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard about Ponnordaz Impressive Remedy (just google it)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to pack on solid muscle mass minus the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got amazing success with it.

  • Great video and snack ideas.. I’ve alway done the apples with peanut butter but I never thought about adding a sprinkle of cinnamon. A must try

  • Your rice advice doesn’t sound sustainable. Most people don’t have that time to process brown rice as you suggested…”average joes” just don’t have time. Realistically people are looing for quick meals. I’ll probably never try your rice hack, I will however, easily put a microwave bag of popcorn into the microwave to eat when I’m hungry. **Context

  • What is the purpose of a very high protein intake when it doesn’t cause fat gain due to the thermic effect, but also doesn’t cause muscle gain any more than 0.8g/lb? Isn’t the only reason people with a very high protein intake don’t gain as much fat in the off-season is because they don’t gain as much overal bodyweight AKA leanbulking?

  • I tried every single diet on the internet and even if I managed to lose few pounds of fat, they would get back as soon as I’m done with diet. I realised that meal plan from Next Level Diet is the only diet I could follow forever. It’s really sustainable and easy to follow.

  • Again, I encourage you to follow the calculations I mentioned earlier to help safeguard your health from the effects of excessive protein consumption. Ordinary people who are not doing high-energy activities only need a moderate amount of protein. If you’re an athlete or a bodybuilder, you only have to increase the amount by 25 percent more for optimal muscle repair and recovery. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/09/03/too-much-protein.aspx. It increases your risk of cancer, weight gain, aging faster. etc..08 per pound

  • Guys. lost a lot of weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I will give you some advice now. Look for a popular fat burn method called Custokebon Secrets (search on google). Thanks to it I’ve lost tons of weight. I should not even be talking about it cause I do not want a lot of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I’m just simply in a excellent mood right now so I will share the wealth haha.

  • 2:14 Red wine
    2:41 Ice cream
    3:00 Popcorn and pop-tarts

Healthy, high fiber, high protein, low sugar, low (saturated and trans) fat, low sodium snacks
9:11 Healthy snacks (avocados, nuts, dark chocolate, gummy candy, trail mix, cookies, green pea snack)
16:16 Rice cake snacks (almond butter banana, tuna cottage cheese avocado black pepper hot sauce)

  • finally something that we can all easily get. I hate it when I’m looking for vegan snacks and they start to use spices or ingredients that are either too expensive or things that we can’t easily get.

  • Interesting, but I neither count the calories nor carbs in food.  Yet, I am still stay thin.  Wait, I exercise.  Oops, did I just say a bad word?

  • Hi!!i have one question.I’m korean so i can’t understand very well….

  • Based on the comments (both in your video and in the comment section), it seems Greg has a solid opportunity here to clarify his beliefs and correct any misconceptions about dieting/bodybuilding that may come across in his videos. Providing a clearer communication of this would allow him to increase his reach and address any contradictions his content may display. We are only human. All of us will contradict ourselves at one point or another, just not all of us do it online. Greg can do this just like Abbey can do this. ALL of us do it! Furthermore, there isn’t a perfect science to researching YouTube content like this. Abbey isn’t conducting a peer reviewed study, even though she might point to some in her assessment. She is going off a limited sample size and a highly unique one at that (WIEAD videos are not controlled samples). There is no way for her to be 100% accurate. She is most likely getting stuff wrong, which is why she provides disclaimers. Every individual would interpret this content differently and that’s okay. It is helpful to gain a different perspective on topics like these. Unfortunately, suggestions taken at face value occur far too often on YouTube. There are no agreed upon guidelines or rules for responsible viewership when it comes to WIEAD. Many people use them as personal health advice when they are NOT. Legally speaking, YouTubers can not claim to be giving you health recommendations in a way that a doctor can. It isn’t ethical. Think of these videos as educational and entertaining, you may choose to watch these videos to get recipe ideas, lifestyle tips, and fitness pointers… but you should always consult a medical professional. I appreciate what Abbey is doing because I have a decade long history with Anorexia and it is helpful for me to challenge the thoughts/beliefs I have about food, especially when they involve weight loss. Some of us cannot distinguish between harmful and helpful with respect to our bodies. Our gut instinct is wrong. It may tell us to starve, trick, or over stuff ourselves. Some of us will run with these low calorie suggestions to the point of hospitalization. We are here to learn how to flag, dissect, and become more independent thinkers about food. It’s about stopping and starting thought processes to be a more active participant in your relationship with food. Most importantly, it is highly individual. And we could all do better to improve our language, attitudes, and beliefs about food. Growth mindset!

  • Appreciate your content! I am just starting out on this journey. I have been eating lots of plant based foods over the last couple of years but i usually had some type of meat everyday. My family has a history of heart disease. This is something that hasn’t been attempted by my family. And…I actually enjoy eating this way plus I do think about the environment and our animal friends. So here I go. I am going to definitely follow you and I did click on the bell.:) Thanks again for the information and the way you deliver it. I have my girls watching as well and it has peaked their interest… Keep it going!!

  • The method give TOTALLY FALSE results!
    Burning =\=metabolism!!!

The difference will be like between biologiciall and chemicall demand for oxygen used to measure wastewater properties:\

  • You’re awesome dude, and always so optimistic and jolly. You always amaze me with the bowls the size of your head, which I sometimes like doing as well. Thanks to you that is.

  • Ok, so here’s a question: I realize that higher protein diets a good for building muscle, but what about recent studies showing you age faster when you eat a lot of protein? I want to look good but, I want to slow my aging Need to find balance

  • Serious question, what if in your country all this fancy packaged food from fancy shopping mall are not available then what will you do???

  • Thank you for these great videos. I watched the Game Changers and then found your videos and I’m hooked. It’s taking a bit to get used to some things like tofu but I’m learning to cook it. I am 61 years old with several ailments but day by day I’m feeling a positive impact. Eventually I will be full vegan once I’ve learnt more and I look forward to that time. I was partly raised on a farm here in NZ and now it turns my stomach to know what I know now that I was ignorant about before. No turning back to that life so thank you for your encouraging information, I really appreciate it.

  • The first method of measuring calories is flawed, cause like you said burning fiber…. generates heat. But fiber is not a calorie cause it can’t be digested. Calories are bogus, it’s just a measurement, that must in some way correlate to volume or density. Which would mean what we already know the more volume you eat the more weight you’ll gain. I think it actually measure how much something is composed of water. Since water would just evaporate when burned and not cause generate much heat. So that would explain why vegetables which are most water, dont make you gain weight

  • Thanks. My greatest weakness is snacking on unhealthy stuff. Would so like to switch to your snacks instead. Who cares about food-styling? Not me, I go for taste and nutrition!

  • thank you Jeff, not only nicely researched and presented by you but also very accessible for someone who is a newbe:) I am restricting calories and working out (aim is to lose weight) and higher protein intake helps me to stay full so happy with that

  • At least you will be making some good money with the amount of views on this video. As far as exercise and diet, you should watch his videos. He can help you get more healthy and fit for sure.

  • Going to the motherland with a bowl of the size of your head on your head is TRUE dedication to the video amazing content as always Scott

  • Soooo, if spinach and blueberries are hard for a few people to get because of food deserts, those foods shouldn’t be promoted? I don’t understand your reasoning here.

  • What is the best product or brand to lost a ton of fat? I read many great reviews on the internet about how exactly Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost crazy amounts of fat. Has anyone tried using this popular weight loss diet plan?

  • surprisingly satiating!!!
i crave foods that are surprisingly satiating! Why would I EVER want guaranteed satiety, when i can get it as a surprise!!

  • Tell us the truth, you are going from supermarket to another supermarket and so forth… to forget your appetite. Everyone knows that tactic

  • i wish i could eat a salad without dressing, i need at least a little balsamic/oil situation going on:p
i think i’m gonna have to try the fruit salad with honey tho. i’ve never though to put honey on top but it looks tasty!

  • What snacks do you have that don’t contain oil? Avocados and nut butters are out for me for example. FYI most fruits are perfect in that they have exactly the right ratio of water to sugar to be metabolised efficiently along with fibre and vitamins.

  • What do you think of lost tons of weight using Custokebon Secrets? I notice a lot of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets.

  • Greg is not wrong that the average person should be doing more for their health. Saying they look ‘like poop’ is a bit harsh but there is truth to what he says. In my country, 64% of adults are overweight or obese. Since we have public healthcare, my taxes pay for their medical procedures. We all pay for their medical procedures.

Your suggestion that the average person should not be obligated to maintain a healthy body weight is so much worse than anything Greg has said. ‘Promoting a constant state of undernourishment…is problematic’ are you kidding me? The average person has basically been OVER nourished their entire life, to the point that their body carries around pounds and pounds of excess ‘nourishment.’ Obesity kills so many people every day, and costs us all so much money… yet our number one concern should apparently be…. orthorexia?? Walking on eggshells with our verbiage so as to prevent ‘triggering’ overweight people?? In my country, the top 3 causes of death are directly related to obesity. It does not appear that any of the top causes of death are related to orthorexia or ‘triggering.’

If comparing someones physique to ‘poop’ motivates them to get healthy and save the medical system tons of strain what is really the problem here? It’s not a nice thing to say or hear but people (64% of us anyway) really need to wake up and get in shape before they have a heart attack or stroke.

  • Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will work for me? I see lots of people keep on speaking about this popular lose weight diet plan.

  • Well, you can do all that work for rice… or you can just eat a kiwi and a bag of popcorn for the same calories and still get all those nutrients anyway. Greg’s all about simplicity. He works 100 hours a week, he doesn’t want to spend hours in the kitchen nursing a pot of rice.

  • Very nice video! Good looking meals… my problem is, idk how much food id have to buy(and volume!) if i can go to shop maybe just 3times/w.. also nice one day but then all the other days idk what to do.. but really nice meal plan, for 1 day:)

  • Comment I was about to leave before I made it far in the video Ants on a log can make a filling snack. Celery + peanut butter + raisins

  • I have a problem with BF since always. I can count at least 4 abs and, in good ligthning, I cant see two small ones under the chest, but the 2 under the belly button

are well covered in fat. Having this into account, I have 2 fats estimates, one by my own scale, which comes out to 24.7%, and another one from a pharmacy scale, which comes out at 21.5%. All other estimates of bf % that I saw online, none of them had someone at +20% with at least 4 visible abs, which then makes me thing that either:

    1. Fat in my body acummulates in other areas
    2. Both scales are wrong
    3. Both above.

  • Lean Body Mass? Question when you say lean body mass are you subtracting bone weight because science says your skeleton equals 12% 15% of your total body weight.

  • Praise Jesus. Thank you for the advice. I am 180 and trying to get over the fact, I love eating ceral and sweets, but I need to do it less. I do like the options and avoid food with salts. My EMT/Firefighter friends told me the heartache victims are always super super high sodium levels, from chips, and obviously fast food.

    Thanks, Mike

  • I love nuts especially Brazil! So yummy can eat them all day cashews walnuts peanuts etc! Love trail mixes but a lot are high salt and sugar!

  • What are your thoughts on using the Navy body fat calculator based on your neck, waist, height and weight when you lack the knowledge to use a body caliper properly?

  • I haaaaaated his response to Stephanie Buttermore’s video, and all his sycophants in the comments were just as disheartening. That “relationship with food” thing was so annoying to me too! We have “relationships” with everything in our lives-that word just means “how you relate to something.” He’s an insufferable idiot.

  • Does Custokebon Secrets really work? I see a lot of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets. But I’m not sure if it is good enough to lost crazy amounts of weight.

  • Some people say that fruit has too much sugar even though they eat other sweets things that are actually junk foods. These people are looking for a reason not to eat healthy foods. Most people know that fruits and vegetables are healthy.

  • Hi Jeff Nippard is doing good these days, dramatic v taper going on, leaner too. Anyways for my two cents I think this overgeeked approach to protein intake is way too confusing.
Simple maths say if a 200 pound lean person takes 200-300g of protein daily then if all of that protein would mean you add 1kg or 2.2lbs of lean mass every 3-4 days, that would be like over 50kg lean mass a year.
That simply never happens not even on state of the art roids with world renowned coaching. So how much protein is enough? This is about ability of the individual in synthesis of protein. So what is the rule of thumb you should use. Of course as a general rule CICO or calories in calories out is more important than micro managing protein by the gram. Also remember 60 grams of protein is the upper limit of what can be digested per meal. Honestly you really do not need so much IMO

  • another appreciation comment coming in: I’ve learned so much by simply following your channel and watching your content. How I view food has completely changed for the better. Your personality is so vibrant that watching your videos makes me smile each time. Thank you so much!

  • loved this video Soph, I always struggle with low cal high protein snacks so have written these down for my next shop, thank you! <3

  • Just take the video down, so much misinformation. Go do some actual research and watch Greg’s videos. He posted what himself and his girlfriend eat in a day not to long ago. Why cover a competition preparation for a “bodybuilding show”, yeah bodybuilding, not “weightlifting.” Greg’s video are the most informative videos on YouTube hands down and apply to nearly every single person looking to get in shape or in general just stay healthy. As a rule of thumb for fitness in general, if it doesn’t come from Greg’s mouth I simply don’t believe information on fitness from anyone at this point.

  • This still surprises me, just how some people are not aware about Custokebon Secrets, although many people get great results with it. Thanks to my cooworker who told me about Custokebon Secrets, I’ve lost tons of weight with it without starving myself.

  • Love your joyful, lighthearted sprit, so funny in a gentle way. And your enthusiasm & zest for life.
But, wow, you are so very fit also!
Thanks for great vegan food ideas!

  • Sure but how the fuck am i supposed to eat 250 grams a day without getting fat af or having metall poisoning from tuna or protein powder?
Red meat and chicken all day?

  • I can’t physically eat 175 grams of protein a day… how the heck am I supposed to eat that much? I’m never hungry enough. Unless I literally eat protein and nothing else, I suppose.
Is that really what people do?

  • Is it humanly possible to ingest all that protein? Other videos have suggested that the body takes the protein it needs and excretes the remainder meaning a lot of the protein is wasted. Look forward to your reply. Thanks.

  • Aha! I left a comment on your community post regarding this video, but I realize now that even though it’s unlisted, it still showed up in my recently watched videos, so I was able to finish watching it.

I think this analysis is very kind. The truth is, body-building is not a natural state for humans, nor is it a “healthy” thing to do. When I was growing up, one of my mom’s best friends was a body builder, and he was always extremely upfront with those two facts, and I find it concerning that Greg would not also be extremely upfront about that. The way bodybuilders push their physical limits can be extreme, just the same way any other professional athlete does, and literally no one would say forcing linebackers to consume the calorie content they need to in order to maintain weight is healthy.

I think the thing that bothers me the most about his videos and clips is that he acts as though all of this is just “easy” when in fact, he’s doing something very extreme. His ability to manipulate and “hack,” for lack of a better word, his body’s response is impressive, and he shouldn’t be downplaying it by pretending that anyone can do this. The truth is, no. Not anyone can. And not everyone should.

I think your video makes that extremely clear.

  • Each to their own but I prefer the ketogenic diet when dieting. The results are fast and doesn’t mess around with the hormones. Although the diet itself is boring hence why I’m fat and shouldn’t be here

  • For anyone watching this not previously knowing/watched Greg. Go watch some of his videos and the rewatch this. You’ll the see how deluded it is.

Greg is ruthless but speaks the truth, if it hurts question answered.

This video deserves the backlash it is going to get.

  • Well… in my experience, when I go below 1g of protein per pound LBM, I’m screwed, really messed up. And indeed, about 1,6 is even a lot better. It’s a strange thing, but an essential one, imho. Most people are protein starved.

  • Whenever I see someone eating sugar free foods that aren’t naturally sugar-free I think “chemical sh!tstorm”. Like tomatoes naturally have sugar, taking the sugar out and adding artificial sweeteners is not healthy. Nor is anything Walden Farms. (MY OPINION)

  • This is why I follow your channel, you understand what it means to have a big appetite. I’m sure that “portion control” works for some people, but I’m not one of those:))) Keep up the good work!

  • it’ll mean a bunch to me if anyone has the time to answer a consumer survey on alternative proteins!! It takes 3 minutes and your opinion will really help in my postgrad research:)

  • It’s a lot easier to stick to your diet plan when you know that you can have cheat meal twice a week without ruining your progress. Guys from Next Level Diet are doing a great job. Visit their website and see for yourself.

  • Summer bodies are made in winter. I am making mine, what about you? You can create training and meal plan yourself, or you can save your time and visit *Next Level Diet*. You chose

  • I realize you eat so much because you are way more active than I am but damn bro, there is no way I could eat even half as much as you do.

  • Jeff, but my doctor told me that going over 120 (I actually spent over 30 minutes debating protein with her) grams of protein will fuck me up AND that it would fuck me up, regardless of my condition (my right kidney is smaller that my left kidney). What say you to that? Oh and don’t spare the detail if you do answer, as I’m actually a medical doctor.

  • As expert, I think Custokebon Secrets can be good way to lost lots of fat. Why don’t you give it a chance? maybe it’s going to work for you too.

  • Like greg says “Your’e moronnnnn” i think you have heard about low caloric dense meals which means to have meals which have low calories but more density and actually tastes good is it good to have a suger laden highcaloric ice cream or a protein icecream which is high in protein and low in calories for a normal human being. And your’e dietician are they really dietician or just fake certificate holders. Even in 100 years you can be as good as greg when it comes to food choices it requires experience and knowledge which you will never have. @gregdocutte

  • Dude I am so thankful for these types of videos. The sauce video opened up a whole new world of ideas for me to riff on. And man, I am trying that miso on the toast! Amazing!!

  • There is also recent studies disproving the anabolic window, as long you get an adequate amount of protein throughout the day. In one study they also found those who exercised in the morning and had their protein straight after compared to those who had protein at night gained the same amount of muscle mass. You should though eat glucose straight after the gym to replenish glycogen stores and to help with protein synthesis.

  • New Sub here! Love your videos I stay binge watching! Will DEFENITLY use your codes as well keep up the awesome vids me and family are wanting to transition to vegan and you make it easy!

  • My buddy laughed when I told them I was gonna become slimmer with just implementing Custokebon Secrets, but after I showed them great results right after I used it they are begging me to tell them about it. Of course I won’t tell them the details about this diet plan, hahaha

  • I’m about 20 lb down, not too much but it’s a start, but that tip of just not having the kind of food you know that you are going to binge eat around in the house has been a life saver.

  • You say that someone “who isn’t dieting” can eat more fat and avoid the sweeteners, but the average person already goes with the higher calorie option and isn’t satisfied with the way they look or has given up. Given up because some dietitian told them to eat whole this, whole that, peanuts here, honey there, while they rather eat burgers if they’re going to restrict themselves and still be fat.
If one eats “healthy” but they don’t like the way they look, it’s not working. Now, tell me: is saying “since you’re average and shouldn’t look as good as greg, you can have more fat and not focus on calorie density, while eating healthy and being obese” or saying “rice has too many calories for little volume, you might as well enjoy your bread or have popcorn” will help the average person more?

  • Watch more of Greg’s videos and you’ll actually see he is one of the only youtubers who tells you straight facts and tells you what you need to hear and not what you lazy short cutting people want to hear. If you haven’t checked him out, please do so. Do not listen to this women.

  • I’m doing 2 x LBM, I can literally feel my skin getting tighter from losing fat. I would never go higher than that though. Also when I’m hungry and can’t sleep on a cut, I’ll drink 100g of Whey and it kills my appetite and helps me sleep.

  • Hey, Jeff? lb or gram are used to measure weight, right? So why the hell don’t you stick with one of these units of measure? Grams/lbs This is some stupid thing to do… all americans should enter the 21’st century already and adopt the kilogram, celsius and the metric system! Get out of the stone age, you devonian people!!!!

  • not all food calories are equal. just because the package says 100 calories does not mean that is what you get when you eat it. foods that are high in natural fiber trap some of the digestible material and prevent you from absorbing it. some foods have calories that are rapidly taken in while others take longer to take in the calories, this causes hormone changes at different speeds so that highly processed foods (which are much easier for your body to absorb the calories very quickly) get stored as fat because all of the calories are suddenly available, while other less processed foods process over time and the body can use them at a slower pace to replace what it has already used. this is one of the reasons that highly processed foods will make you fatter than a less processed food with the same number of calories.

  • He got so aggressive while talking about the good and bad foods while proceeding to eat a sad diet. You could eat way more good stuff for the same amount of calories. This is not how you promote healthy eating. And what’s the point? He’s trying to tell me that rice and chocolate is bad and he is literally eating six french toasts for breakfast and dry protein powder as a snack.

  • Diet Plan called Custokebon Secrets kept showing up here on a lot of videos and I thought they were scams. However after my friend follow it, and finally lost tons of weight with it without starving herself. I’m persuaded. Don’t take my own word for it, search for Custokebon Secrets on google.

  • You Are amazing bro, keep it up, always eating like that on 3500 cal for lean bulk, always full. You could make a video about Greg’s diet to get his answer and reach more people

  • I weigh in the mid 180’s I eat every other day and I take in about 300 grams of protein every other day. I don’t like to eat everyday it takes too much time and it make me feel ugh. But if you are a high performer then you need a lot of protein in your diet. But for a regular person you really don’t need high protein.

  • Lovely Video! Sorry for chiming in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about Ponnordaz Impressive Remedy (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a good one off product for discovering how to pack on solid muscle mass without the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my good mate called Gray at very last got astronomical results with it.

  • You have a huge stomach capacity Scott! I only eat once a day and I can eat more than my husband at a single sitting, but I would be throwing up if I eat that much!

  • Is your mind hungry for more foodie facts? Then check out this video and find out the answer to the questionIs Pet Food Safe for Humans to Eat?:

  • this is like watching a political fence sitter comment on one video of one side of the american political scale without really doing too much prior research on it

  • I don’t mind the heavy breathing, Scott Creds for all your meal creations, and not to mention the “bowl hat”; dedication the size of your head, right there ❤️

  • The problem with eating high volume is high cost lol. How much does this cost? Per day or per month? Nice video though and great ideas!

  • New subscriber, but already I know that..

    You pause the video.
You scroll down and click the bulkpowders link.
Watch the BP page load up, then close it.
    Carry on watching Scott.

Good stuff like the enthusiasm and the science:)

  • PEOPLE, THE POINT IS TO LOSE FAT AND GET MUSCLES. You need diet plan and training plan for that! I visited website called NextLevelDiet, they provided me with personalized diet plan and training plan. The results are amazing!!!

  • i mean he mentions that you should aim for half of what you want. if you’re 20% body fat and want to be 10% then 15% is more achievable and sustainable. he doesn’t promote to go to unhealthy levels of dieting, just what you can achieve. so uh well this is gonna be nasty lol

  • This video has good advice, but I am confused about the best diet plan that I need to use, only because I have never used any. Anybody tried using the Custokebon Secrets? I have noticed many people refer to awesome things about Custokebon Secrets.

  • I am sorry but this video is so boring feels like it’s the science class that I hated in high school. Been doing Greg’s form of dieting and it has worked wonders. Keep in mind you can’t apply it to everyone. Greg is active and trains every day. I am active and trains similarly.

  • She may be speaking alot of science, but what Greg prescribes is what works. We don’t need this scientific hoodoo. Why are 80% dieticians idiots?

  • I agree with you that many factors go into why a lot of people struggle with weight loss. However many of the factors you mentioned like genetics, and environment, we can not control. Calories in and calories out We can control. So if you take the factors that we have no control over out of the equation what are you left with? Calories in and calories out.

  • “breaking and binging on those foods that were not allowed”
That;s the point of his cookbook. Recipes which are low calorie in relation to volume, but taste really good. Like his protein shake which is a lot like ice cream

  • This video has good information, but I’m confused about the best diet plan that I need to use, only because I have never used any. Anybody tried using the Custokebon Secrets? I have heard several folks mention amazing things about Custokebon Secrets.

  • I guess sample size of one here, but anyone who’s trying to gain muscle, eat carbs. White rice and whole wheat are my go to. I obsessed over macros and 2.2 grams per pound protein avoided carbs and did a bunch of different programs. I think the reason I bought into the protein culture (apart from it being all over the magazines and the Arnold and Ronnie videos) was cos of newbie gains. I figured if I could gain strength and muscle within a year…. So fast forward years and I always blamed programs, commitment, lack of eating enough protein for not making much progress.
Then I stopped lifting for a few years and became vegetarian. I started lifting again recently and started getting compliments. I don’t exactly remember how much I lifted in my younger days but I can now lift more than that and it’s been only a couple years, I work hard in the gym have decent programming knowledge thanks to the internet. All this without any protein powders and stuff, I admit I tried a few vegan powders and creatine but not consistently.
What I have been doing consistently diet wise is eating tons of carbs, cos that’s what happens when ur vegetarian.

  • Also, FYI fat girls don’t watch Greg, dudes that find joy in the hard process of buildi your body watch him, his content is really appreciated to help you get through those rough days when you want to eat a burger and breakdown every thing you have been building

  • Do natural popular weight loss method like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? We have noticed numerous awesome things about this popular weight loss method.

  • Very helpful! My meals are primarily protein to help my female 43 year old mom bod try to be lean and TRY to control the weight gain they say we are supposed to get as women get older. Weight gain, it’s a real struggle! I started a rookie channel on protein type meals, sweets and snacks. I mean literally, i just starting it up Look me up! I’m not as good a you on this YT thing, I subscribed, I hope you subscribe with me too:)

  • I just bought 2x 12 packs each shake with 48 grams/270 calories $70 for the 2 packs. Im planning on having one shake per day. Is it bad to get that much protein from shakes? Is $70/month a crazy amount to spend?

  • I’ve never watched your videos before this one but I just subscribed because you seem like the nicest person ever and i like food too.

  • I made my body transformation. I was able to lost 15lbs for only one month and finally started feeling healthy. I took plan from Next Level Diet and followed their tips. Thank you #*Next Level Diet*

  • Great video, really enjoy your positive mood. For lower calorie / bigger volume dishes you can make some changes namely strawberry instead of melon, pumpkin instead of carrots for the mash, white fish instead of ground beef. The noodles are very expensive to keep in a daily pan but if you purchase some glucomannan powder, xantham gum and pickling lime you can make them at home at a fraction of the cost. Another suggestion, search for glucomannan powder recipes, they are the bomb for anyone who likes volume eating.

  • When i cut down some kg I eat pretty much vegetarian diet with some meat and dairy from overall protein intake.Eating a lot of legumes and starchy carbs will keep you soo much full and your stomach looks like you have a baby in it:)))
High fibers diets works so well for fat loss and for overall health

  • Greg douchette said to take down this video, watch his videos and then make a vid on him. He said there was sm misinformation in this vid. If u don’t take ur vid down, then ig u earned urself a vid.

  • Hey Derek! What is your take on the belief that citrus fruits should not be consumed along with their “sweet” counterparts? Could you please make a video about this?

  • Dave’s Killer bread is delicious. I just checked mine and its 17/5…3.4 and it has vitamins and minerals and tastes good. I always have people try it along with other vegan food I bring to work. You never know….they just might think about switching to plant based.

  • I sent the celery, PB and raisins in my husband’s lunch a few months ago. He text me a pic of it and joking asked, “What am I in kindergarten?” Haha.

  • As specialist, I do believe Custokebon Secrets is good way to lost lots of weight. Why not give it a shot? perhaps it is going to work for you too.

  • Are you still friends with your school buddy? Great snacks! You are the only person other than me (and my dad) that Ive ever seen slice apples that way

  • Food is not sentient, has no soul, and cannot give you love. Therefore, it is in fact, Impossible to have a relationship with food. Food CAN be enjoyed, but that is not it’s number one sole purpose. It’s number 1 purpose is to nourish our bodies and keep us from starving to death. Greg Doucette takes alot of warming up to from most people, but once you do, you understand that he has the most no nonsense, and realistic approach to fitness. (He also says numerous times on his channel, that for men, 12 to 15% bodyfat is the healthiest range to be in, and there’s never a reason to go under 8% unless youre doing a show.)

  • There are literally no studies demonstrating the safety of a higher protein diet in the long run. Plus there is no way to naturally consume 225 grams of protein without consuming tons of fats and seriously restricting carbs. So pretty much consuming highly processed powders is a given.

  • There isn’t any fat loss tea or a magic pill. There are only smart dieting and training. Next Level Diet is a great tool to start with because it gives you everything you need to reach your fitness goals.

  • I’d love to spend few months with this guy eating vegan food maybe he’d help me with my diabetes and anxiety and depression and cholesterol! I’d love to have him as my nutritionist! Would love some tips and help! Can’t find a vegan nutritionist near me!

  • Greg always says that 0 calorie foods aren’t actually 0 calories. This is just the tip of the iceberg of things you’ve missed about his messages. You really should have watched more of his content before making this video.

  • If you want to slim down, it is best to check out Custokebon Secrets on the google search engine. They will make it easier to get the body you deserve.

  • I have no Idea how people can eat food solely for fuel with no enjoyment. He treats food as basically only math for his goals. I cannot relate at all loool. But what do I know, apparently I look like poop anyway

  • 25:10 hunny, it’s a sport, no sport (when done competitively) will benefit your health, it will benefit you winning and your wallet

  • @Simeon Panda, I know you like cinnamon, Try to put some on your sweet snack! (some chopped up dark chocolade is also very tasty) Let me know!

  • greg does not say everyone should be as shredded as him, 15% men is a healty weight and 25% for women. And remember the channel is for muscle growth so that bodyfat is good for that to.
-He wants everyone to be a better version of themselves, if their 40% bodyfat get to 30% was his comment in one video. So clearly not spewing that everyone has to be lean.
Ur just doing a “more spews for more views” video here and want to ride on gregs name to get more views.
The whole talk about it not being calories in and calories out is also wrongly explained. Greg also explain that everyone is different and we have a diffrent weight we can stay at until ur body just forces us to eat more calories. So ur talking about the same thing here ur just trying to present it more pretty by blaiming it on calories in / out not working

  • to anybody in the comment felt. I would def recomend Kiwi, great snack, super healthy, contains melatonin (whick makes you sleep better, which is super important for the gains), high protein (when considering how good they taste).

  • Such a fun little video! Definitely agree with your marmite and avocado combo! Marmite and peanut butter are great together too! Just a suggestion for a vegan version of the salmon & slaw, use chickpeas instead of salmon?! They’re super tasty & high in protein

  • Walking with a bowl on your head in the supermarket would be real dedication to the game. I mean you are visiting markets every few hours so they definetly wouldn’t be suprised .

  • I recently stopped eating meat and am working towards a vegan lifestyle, your videos are very encouraging and enjoyable to watch Derek!

  • While I agree that some fats are healthy; they can be pretty calorically dense too. Greg appeals to an audience who wants to lose weight and be lean without being hungry all the time; not just bodybuilders. Some of these people (myself included) struggle to find satiety even if we eat “healthier” fat choices like flaxseeds, almonds, egg yolks, avocados, pecans, etc. They are so calorically dense that you can only eat so much of them before calories start getting out of hand. Greg also promotes eating a lot of vegetables when he explains his wraps and salads which would cover the micronutrient needs. Also, after you’re done eating Greg style you end up eating a pretty healthy amount of fat ( i end up getting 60-80 grams of fat)

  • I tried beanies coffee in 2016 and it was lush, but I got some a few weeks ago and they were all completely tasteless

..Aaand ffs I saw that tub of maltodextrin it’s basically icing sugar! Get rid of it! Invest in some xylitol or something bud

  • I have a feeling she is a little more biased against the coach since he bashed her favorite, Stephanie Buttermore.. Let’s be honest, people turn to fad diets because they lack the patience and determination to change their lifestyle. It takes time and it’s not easy. Everyone wants quick fixes. When they cannot get one, they simply quit and whine while sitting on their asses eating chips and ice cream. Yeah, restricting SOME foods (like junk and sugar for example) is hard. Yeah, exercising is hard. You don’t like running? Go swimming. Find alternatives. Some people might need some tough love instead of a loving pat on the back. Honestly. One more thing: how is Greg’s diet not affordable but Stephanie Buttermore’s is?! The amount of food that girl eats.. I never heard Abbey bringing that up when discussing the “all in” approach. When all in means 3500-4000kcal a day…

  • Cheers for the Video clip! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you considered Chireetler Fitness Brethren Rule (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning some amazing body building workouts without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my GF finally got cool success with it.
