  • There was a study that linked high homocysteine levels to heart attacks, they found these were worse in vegetarians and vegans. Dr Gregor did a video on this that linked it to our excess omega 6 to omega 3 levels because a lot of alternative products contain excess oils. If you eat a whole food plant diet you avoid this issue. He also recommends eating 1tbsp of flaxseed to help our omega 3:6 ratio. Processed foods are no good for any diet…

  • i think; why do you say that plant base diet is good if according to his studies, only casein was the culprit. Their prophet, Ellen G. White, tells them that “not a morsel of meat is to be eaten” in Counsels of Diet and Food. In their restaurants they have no meat, no eggs, no fish, no dairy in the menu. All government studies (4) show they have the longest life span, the least heart disease and the least cancer. All of this proves we are not meant to be omnivores. And yet the greatest proof of all, is that the diet our Designer gave for mankind, in Genesis to Adam and Eve, was a plant based diet. I think God knows more than you my friend, and more than all the doctors and scientists in all the world. The problem is, is that people that teach that we are omnivores, choose to only look for evidence that supports your bad habits, and yes, eating meat is certainly a bad habit. It is the major cause of all chronic degenerative diseases, I should know, I have assisted quite a few doctors in my life time in the health field.

    Regarding the right amounts of Essential Aminoacids, the Bioavailability is dictated by the DIAS (Digestible indispensable amino acid score) which is far lower on plant foods. You would have to eat a lot more calories to be able to get the right amounts of these amino acids to be healthy.

    Lastly, plants contains plant toxins, also called antinutrients. Oxalates, phitates, Lectins (gluten included), glycosinulates, tannins, protease inhibitors, solanins, saponins & flavonoids. All of these have a negative effect on the body. Many of the degenerative cronic conditions humans have are related to these antinutrient.

  • Well there is 100% connection between IGF-1 and animal protein. This is something body builders try to increase. And there’s a pretty good connection between IGF-1 and cancer (actually those with dwarfism, and lack igf-1, are pretty much immune to cancer). So there’s some truth to the dangers of high meat and animal protein.
    If anyone can weigh in on whey (is it dairy or not) it’ll be appreciative.

    But to be honest wheat and beans are probably no better for the body. And here she is preaching about them.

    The problem of the studies she mentioned is the way that a correlation of exactly one side is used which can lead to confirmation bias since the suggested change in diet has so many variables.

  • i think it is that we are not moving around as much. I went to a 3rd world country and a lot of people were walking and bicycling. I came back to the US and it looked so automated with hardly anyone walking. Now you have grocery pickup that you can order on your phone and pick it up when you get there. How much laziness is enough? On top of that food manufacturers are making their foods taste better with added calories. Then we have TV, internet, and cell phones. There is no wonder there is an obesity epidemic in our country.

  • These drinks are good for counting your macros and are keto-friendly drinks as well! People say that sugar-free is bad for you due to slow digestion of these products but it doesn’t affect your blood sugar or insulin levels if you’re used to intaking sugar-free products…it only affects you if your body isn’t used to it which is understandable like any other foreign thing going into your body but if you’re iffy about the sucralose in sugar-free products go for stevia it’s an easy alternative and plant-based!:D AWESOME VID!

  • Dr Campbell’s study was with casein which is a protein unique to dairy. I have a hunch we need to distinguish between dairy protein and meat protein. I’m not sure you can conflate casein with all animal protein.

  • As a college student who is trying to maintain a lean physique I struggle with what alcohol to consume. When I drink I consume about 7-10 hard seltzers (90 cals each) or 7-9 shots (usually vodka or tequila) throughout the night. Would you recommend hard liquor or seltzers on the nights I drink? Obviously it’s a ton of booze but college ya know?

  • Obesity is extremely easy to avoid. All you have to do is step on a scale every morning. If you gain just a little weight, it is easy to lose just a little weight also. I do not understand why people wait until they are extremely overweight to do something about it.   • Brittany can you try my Starbucks drink: old thread but low carb hack: iced lightly sweetened chai with no liquid cane sugar and almond milk! they are two components to the lightly sweetened chai (the lightly sweetened chai concentrate and the liquid cane sugar) so if you ask for this it’s lower carb spicy chai hack! then add your own stevia or other low carb sweetener (: since each pump of cold bar liquid cane sugar has 2.5g of carbs, 2.5 g of sugar, 7.5 calories and a grande has 4 pumps of LCS.. than you would subtract 10g of carbs, 10g of sugar, 30 calories from the listed nutrition of the grande iced lightly sweetened chai on the website with almond milk to get 100 calories, 15 carbs, and 13 grams of sugar and 3.5 grams of fat! Not exactly keto but a good alternative to the regular grande iced chai! even with almond milk it’s still 180 calories, 38 carbs and 35 grams of sugar!

  • Very educational. What about GLUTEN FREE? The day after I ate Raisin Bran my stomach went from flat to bloated. I lost 55lbs on KETOGENIC LIFESTYLE & have always been active due to ADD/w HYPERACTIVITY! My husband is Type 2 diabetic and a couch potato after working 7 days a week behind a computer. Posture has dramatically changed, eats frozen meals. So to try to make him happy I ate the same & became lethargic & cranky. I garden 5-15 hours/Daily, work at least 5 hours in the kitchen chopping vegetables, composting food, cleaning & clearing out rotten old food & recycling. Plus work from home on his business. I try to get up during TV Commercials to get a task done ✅ or some form of movement. Dr. Joe on YouTube has a great, simple, short wake up routine to get you going in the morning. I have THYROID DISEASE, therefore, since discovered my doctor said I will always have high cholesterol. Periodontal disease since late 20’s age. I was a sick baby when born, missing 5 adult teeth �� & was bullied daily for a birthmark on my face from Kindergarten on up for years until it naturally slowly went away. Also, I have recently learned I have a larger than normal colon after a colonoscopy & misdiagnosed for 28 years. But I still mowed the lawn better than our yard guy, traveled the world ��, had twins, cut my own hair & the boy’s, volunteered extensively. Then due my doctor’s “infinite wisdom” he put me on a STATIN which nearly killed me. My muscles turned into violin strings, I could not bend over to do housework, get out of bed or turn over in bed. I could only walk forward. When I quit the STATIN, VYTORIN, I drank 2 gallons of whole milk daily, for 3 months; a craving I had to satisfy. Also, misdiagnosed with IBS for 8 years, my sister who lived in SLC suggested I try new technology called Spiral Tomography at a clinic there. The doctor was horrified going through the results and screamed, OMG, you have an extra organ that should not be there! Turns out it was an OBSTRUCTED BILE DUCT‼️ So network, do your research. Don’t trust most doctors. They put a STENT in and left it in for 8 years, which should’ve been removed 1-3 months after insertion. So I was on antibiotics for 8 years for gut infections, pain pills, in & out of Emergency Rooms which cost $1000 monthly, even with good insurance. I always ate healthy high fiber foods. My husband said I ate fruit ��, nuts, bark, gravel and vegetables. Nothing funny about what felt like a migraine in your gut & gave you muscle spasms in your back that would paralyze your back for 10 days at a time and I would have to hide under a table for 10 days at a time. Hope this helps someone out there. You never totally recover from STATINS. And they keep changing the bar (Cholesterol benchmark #’s so they can sell more drugs)! Gotta go now and eat my spinach!

  • A good solution for being able to get good foods is right in it: the seeds. you can always plant a garden and after some time of watering, maybe months you can grow your own fruits and vegetables

  • Great advise guys! Remember to exercise portion control just like you do with food. Keep your drinks to 1 oz and a quarter per glass plus a sugar free mixer like water or sparkling water. Your tummy and brain will thank you the next day lol ����

  • So is it better to have a vodka tonic or vodka club soda? I actually like a lime La Croix with a half lime squeezed in but you can’t always get that if you’re out in a restaurant or bar. I’ve been drinking La Croix and lime (no vodka) at parties and no one knows you’re not having an actual alcohol drink and you feel like you are!:-)
