  • Come to Britain in the winter months and ask most pensioners why they can`t eat and heat their homes at the same time. Then you`ll know how easy it is to lose weight. And that`s not by fasting, its every day.

  • 100gr of sugar per day? Lol my regular sugar intake is 15-20gr a day so just had a cheat meal a while ago and it only made my sugar intake 48gr that day. After that I literally walked around bloated and puffy for almost two days. So never go for bananas again!

  • Here’s the paradox eating makes you hungry?? Weirdly when you get off the insulin roller coaster by longer periods of fasting then you find food cravings much more manageable….which in turn makes the fasts that much more bearable. My advice avoid white bread. That is damn difficult to avoid getting hungry an hour or two later.

  • This is an example of backward thinking. I have a PhD in biochemistry. Nobody needs carbs!!! We need only fibre! Just stick to low-carb or keto diet. There are no essential carbs!   • I have type 2 diabetes and tried the keto diet. I, too, found it overly complicated and trying to keep the carb within a range. I found it far easier to go carnivore. It’s simple. I just eat fat and meat, no plants. So far, my blood sugar is under control, 98 today. I’ve also done a dry fast transitioning to a wet fast. I’m going to keep going on the diet.

  • I was diagnosed withType 2 diabetes four weeks ago. My doctor asked if I wanted to be precribed statins. I’m 63 years old and I also have high blood pressure. I take Amlodipine and Ramapril. I said to my doctor I would try useing changing my diet for 3 months before adding another drug.
    I studied a lot of the Peer reviewed documents relating to my high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. When I was younger I was not overweight. I had a flat belly and used to do what here is described as intermittent fasting. I never ate breakfast and regularly missed lunch. I thought I would try this regime and measure my blood pressure, blood sugar levels and weight. I changed my diet, reduced carbohydrates and salt, but have only increased my execise minutely. No more processed food and only food cooked by me.
    At first my weight did not reduce.
    In the second week I have lost 5 pounds.
    My Systolic blood pressure has reduced from around 145mmHg to around 135mmHg.
    My Diastolic blood pressure has reduced from around 89mmHg to around 81mmHg.
    My resting heart rate has reduced.
    I have only had 2 reading of blood sugar level above 7.5 mmols/L since starting the regime. Both these readings were when I ate food made by someone else.
    The rest have been between 4.8 and 6.7 mmols/L
    The key changes have happened when I started doing intermitent fasting and eating in the way I did when I was younger.
    Dr Jason Fung definitely pointed out something that works for me and I hope others try it and measure their results before adding drugs to their intake.

  • If Honey has the percentage 50% Fructose and 44% Glucose what is the reason that the sugars don’t form a glycosidic bond to form combine to form Sucrose, Table sugar. I’ve heard that alpha bonds break down easily but beta bonds do not break down in the body. Seems energy is still required to break the alpha bond of sucrose. Is honey healthier than table sugar if the glycosidic bond is not there? It seems like it’s easier to process and absorb? What’s the reason fruits are healthier?

  • Thanks Dr.Fung, thanks to you I got the courage to fast. People start noticing that I am losing weight. I really liked it when you said “medicine is often logic free”. That is so true. My experience goes along with your advice: i.e. it is best not to tell people that you are fasting. What your mother told you about snacking (i.e. “no, it will ruin your next meal” or “no, you should have eaten more during a meal” is exactly what my mother used to say. It seems to be an international mother code at least for the middle aged generation. In my opinion one reason why many people will try to tell us fasting people that it is not healthy (to fast) is that if they acknowledged the power of fasting, they would also have to do something about their weight and health. We rob them of their excuse.

  • How can he really avoid the topic of calories? Sure, a slimmer person (under 180) will get stuffed long before, say, 1500 calories within a small window and still be at a deficit. And the super obese can eat a lot while still being in a deficit. Us middle fats (200-300) can easily exceed our calorie burn from eating within a small window. No I won’t necessarily feel full actually. I have enough sense to still count my calories, but what if there are people eating their butts off for their OMAD or small eating window? At some point, physics wins and these people won’t lose weight. I wish there was a LITTLE more to say about food/calories.

  • base on my personal research, Omad or IF is basically a lifestyle you should choose for a healthy, long live. the only problem to this is our reproduction system would not have any benefit from these. you should eat ( good eat) more than your body need during reproduction. it brings us healthy children for a brighter future!

  • I forget who said it, it was in a movie or a TV show but they said “We accept the love we feel we deserve” and that couldn’t be more true. Sometimes love is such a powerful thing that when you love someone so much and you really put your all into that person and relationship, you feel that you love that person so much that you don’t want to leave or give up on the relationship just hoping that they will change. It’s sad but I really love someone that way. I keep making excuses for him saying that “Oh, that’s just how he is and I have to accept that” or “He’ll change, he’s not going to treat me like that forever, I believe in him and believe that he can and will change”. But I love him so much that I don’t want to leave him. I love him so much that it physically hurts my heart to be without him. Or his pain is my pain, when he hurts, I do too. I wouldn’t want someone to give up on me because of my flaws. Again, it’s just excuse after excuse that I keep making for him.   • Fasting is not to loose weight because you will put most of it back on after it ends. Fasting is not shortening your feeding window in a 24 hour period. Fasting is consuming pure water only, preferably fresh spring water. You can’t have any nutrients in the water or it stops the fasting process.

  • A month ago I weighed my heaviest at 94 kg. I desperately wanted to do something. That’s when I came across Dr Fung’s obesity code podcasts and my life has completely changed. It is never the drug, it is always the reason why it was taken for the first time. Therefore, it is not about eating healthy. It is about having a reliable replacement for comfort food. And no, carrots don’t do that. Neither do cucumbers or spinach. And especially does exercise not do that.
    If you come up with a healthy quick fix that makes you happy, this is where the real demand is.
    Because happy -> eat only what you have to as you get your happiness from somewhere else -> lose weight -> happier -> more interested in sports -> leaner.
    Happiness is the reason everyone does everything.

  • Everyone’s always curious about how many calories these dance videos burn. I decided to post my results! Today was dance day on her workout plan I’m doing, meaning I just did all 4 back-to-back, no break. I did in this order; Oldies, Sexy, 80s, and Happy Dance.
    I am 162cm or 5’3.5″ tall and
    I am 68.5kg or 151lbs
    By the end of the Oldies dance I burned 106 kcal; 106 kcal burned.
    By the end of Sexy I burned 250 kcal; 144 kcal burned.
    By the end of 80s I burned 413 kcal; 163 kcal burned.
    By the end of Happy I had burned 564 (could be more, I had to take Hey Mama high knees slowly because I have bad knees); 151 kcal.

    I also did a 10 minute cool down stretch (no video) and by the end of my workout I had burned about 620 kcal in total. Your numbers will likely vary given only doing one video since I did all of them back-to-back. Posting this on the 4 videos so people can find!

  • I advise you to read the book, which is also called, but the author is another Christophe Lefebvre. It says how to lose weight, and at the same time you do NOT need to follow any diets and exhaust yourself in the gym.

  • Tip: If you are anxious to see when the workout is done, don’t. Cover the corner and try to not tap the screen. For me, when I cant see how much time I have left, I do more of the workout. It also feels the the workout is going quicker. Try this and tell me if it works!
