  • I don’t like any fruit and I used to like some fruit when I was young about 2-4 and now I don’t like any fruit I like only two vegetables potatoes and carrots but they have to be cooked

  • 2T GROUND FLAX SEED DAILY. Stir in unsweetened applesauce, over salads, in yogurt, or any other food you eat. Lowering sodium use is another suggestion they had in the beginning of the video. How Not To Die book by Dr Greger.

  • Chard is easier to grow than spinach, has less oxalic acid, and is as versatile! eat small leaves as salad greens, saute larger leaves with garlic and olive oil, stir older leaves into soups or frittata! Can grow almost all year round. Grocery store chard is always a bit older, ok for saute..

  • Not a big fan of arugula by itself, but all those are my staples veggies, especially spinach, Swiss chard, mushrooms, tomatoes and….ZUCCHINIES
    Sorry, is midnight
    ..I wakeup at this time

  • Wash your zucchini, slice in rounds, place in a steamer, season with salt and pepper, boil for 10 mins or so. Ready and…. DELICIOUS

  • I do appreciate Dr Sten explanations Thank you very much.
Just a little notice on this veggie list should be done ✅ if a person has insulin resistance he/she has a leaky gut too which mean some veggies shouldn’t be eaten fully must be pealed and seeds off (tomatoes, cucumbers, egg plants, bell peppers. These are fruits too not vegetables Green beans should be avoided totally or cooked in pressure cooker ). Of course many will wanders why it’s because of lectins (plant protein which has very bad impact to our health it protects the plant from being eaten. Its a natural plant defence system).
    Many regards Audra

  • WOW!!! I tried the flaxseed powder and after just 3 days, I saw readings I’d never seen before. 96 over 63. Normally I’m in the high 120s. Sometimes over 130. The doctor who wrote that book should be honored along with you guys for informing us. THANK YOU!!!

  • Wash a zucchini, cut in 2 lengthwise, sprinkle salt & pepper, place in a 350 F oven for 15 minutes, slide out, put a mound of grated cheese on them, bake for another 8 minutes or so. DELICIOUS

  • I use chopped sauted celery in pretty much any casserole that has onion or peppers. Additional bulk for very little cards or calories. You need a nice big list like this because so many of these are very seasonal (tomatoes, peppers, asparagus, cakes, green beans, eggplant and avocado arent frost tolerant so short season plants). Ditto zucchini.

  • Flaxseed oxidizes within 15 minutes of being ground up. So buying pre-ground flax is dangerous because it is already rancid and thus bad for your heart.

  • The problem with FLAXSEED is that it messes with the female hormones. I do not take it for that reason…Besides I already have low blood pressure.., but the BEST thing to lower BP is Garlic, they come in tablets, you can bite one in half, and Magnesium of course..XOXO

  • I’m determined to like apricots and peaches and bell peppers. I don’t like fresh tomatoes, never will, don’t care to try. Throw them in the trash

  • You need a doctor’s salary to be able to afford 2 avocados a day, daymn. Here I am stretching out my 1 avocado a week like 4 homeless guys with a gram of coke.

  • My friend laughed when I told them I was gonna become slimmer with just implementing Custokebon Secrets, but after I showed these people great effects after I used it they’re begging me to share with them about it. Of course I won’t let them know the details about this diet plan, haha

  • Please just an advice, garlic and oil first into pan until fragrant before tossing in the vegetable for stir fry. Cook the curry paste in oil first then add eggplant then lastly put your coconut for curry.

  • I had watched you guys for years, enjoyable goofy pt’s… but I’m out of here if you trust dr gregor. Do better research or don’t offer nutritional advice or medical/ blood pressure advice.

  • I almost feel like fibre should be a fourth group of Fat, Protein, Carbs, Fibre…I never see it put like that, but I feel like the Keto diet must evolve as we go through it. First high fat, moderate protein and low carb, then when fat adapted, reduce fats as our body will supply the fat, but replace with what? Fibre vegetables.. now that I’ve watched 1000 videos (maybe) that’s what I feel, reading between the lines. and when we reach our ideal weight, we must find the balance of carbs/fats/protein/fibre to keep us at that weight.. What do you think about this Dr Ekberg?

  • Can’t believe that am cured after having type 1&2 diabetes,  & HSV, Thanks to Dr. Hopkins who cured me from diabetes, i never thought i will ever have a good health again, i have been having these illness for four years back, not until one day i go on a research on the internet where i saw someone given testimony on how Dr. Hopkins help to cure her with his local herbal medicine, so i said to my self it also the same problem am having so i have to also contact the herbal doctor, via email at

    [email protected] gmail.com

and that how i turned negative to the illness… Thanks doc..

  • Salt and sodium in soups are two different things. Salt is sodium and chloride. Two minerals the body needs and chloride is beneficial for digestion.

  • Have to also be careful with spinach, cauliflower…..chickpeas, etc…. and some others green vegetables and legumes because, they contain a lot of K-vitamin, not mistaken with K of Potassium. The K vitamin in excess makes your blood thick and, if you are a person with such tendency, it can causes blood clots/coagulation and that can be dangerous for your health instead of helping you. So before eating a lot of these make sure you are not in the risk group, otherwise there should not be a problem.

  • Dark chocolate works really well for me! It takes about a hour but it lasts for hours! Eat it with a banana in the morning and it will stay down almost all day! Then drink a glass of beets and your blood pressure will be good all day! But if u really want it to get better go for a fast half mile walk 3 times a week! And it will get completely better! These three things do them all and u will notice a big difference in your blood pressure!

  • I notice many people keep on talking about Custokebon Secrets. But Im not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried using this popular lose weight secrets?

  • My biggest question is are all these studies comparing a WHOLE FOOD plant based diet to a processed SAD diet? What about in comparison to a whole food paleo diet based on hunted/grass fed meats or home grown pasture raised eggs?

  • In Greece we eat a lot of boiled dandelion greens as well as amaranth greens; with olive oil and lemon they are very tasty. When I lived in Indonesia I learned to drink a “smoothie” of avocado and coconut water, mixed in a blender with ice cubes. Very refreshing in a tropical climate. Your opinion of these? Thank you.

  • How many olives can one eat? I am the one to answer, as I am Greek: as many as a Greek wants, needs and can! LOL…The best lunch Greeks have in the countryside consists of crusty homemade bread (sorry!), feta cheese, onions, tomatoes and olives…any kind; and we have quite a few kinds! Look this up on the Internet!

  • Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will work for me? I notice a lot of people keep on speaking about this popular fat burn method.

  • Thank u very much for the information.can we eat low carb vegetables 2 to 3 times a day. On Omad in the process to reverse insulin resistance.

  • You mentioned Swiss chard.
One of the ways I use it is in a salad very young as in three to five inches.. I buy the seeds in bulk so I always have it on hand and growing. It has a great fresh flavor. Love it

  • Hey Dr. You are doing great work for everyone on this planet. • All of your favorite vegetables also my favorite, however though I like eggplant after knowing it can cause inflammation, I stopped eating and I noticed dramatic improvement of no itch on my skin due to lichen planus (auto immune disorder). Can you please make a video on night shades as well. Is it true tomato seeds can be harmful for our friendly gut bacteria? Swiss chard can be eaten just like lettuce without cooking.

  • Great mood music and singing. you mentioned changing things up? Don’t go changin to try n please me. Hope the change is for the Grrreatest from the 2 best Chefs.. Will wait patiently to see. Faithful fan.

  • My life totally and completely changed when I changed from a typical American diet to a Pesco Vegetarian diet. I am now changing to a 100% Vegan diet. On my Pesco Vegetarian diet, I ELIMINATED 3 medications…THREE. My weight and BMI is fantastic. I have chronic pain w/ortho and neuro causes, but, they are much better since I switched in 2013

  • There’s this sparkling flavoured water I think called AHA (idk that’s what the letters look like) that no matter what flavour it’s never strong enough and theres some sort of gross flavour that I compare to gasoline lol. I think it’s the flavour from carbonation.
Bc unlike pop, it’s not syrup, there’s barely any flavour to overpower that gross carbonation flavour.
I heard people drank carbonation water bc they’re trying to get OFF of pop. It just made me want it more.

  • Really enjoyed the presentation your list of 18 fruits and vegetables was helpful. There are actually 14 veggies and 4 fruits on your list. Avocado, tomatoes, cucumber and olives are considered fruits. Thanks for providing quality content. Hope this comment is constructive.

  • -my favorite veggies are asparagus, spinach, onion, and all mushrooms, I’m allergic to tomato (which is hard for an
Italian like me, as for chard, you can saute it like spinach andeat it that way or put it in soup or broth

  • What about kale? I know you’re just put your fav fruits/vegetables but isn’t kale keto friendly? By the way, cucumber is also a fruit.

I’m a big fan. Very informative topics.

  • 4:45 soft cabbage also…. makes-me soft..

  • Now, if someone doesn’t like a special kind of food, no problem. Everyone’s got different impressions throughout their lives and if you don’t want to eat it, don’t eat it. But saying something like “I don’t like vegetables” or “I don’t like salad”, that’s just bullshit right there. There’s NO way in hell you can’t find a way to make SOME kind of vegetable or whatever be a match for you.

  • I want to appreciate Dr ebosetale for using his God gift to save the world. • Just found your channel and love it. Been cooking this way for over 30 years. Suggestion knowing your demographic, we all hate clean up. Invest in a Silpat for roasting. I bought 2 for under 20 bucks and haven’t washed a 1/2 sheet since. Cheaper in the long run as well. Just a thought.

  • I don’t like any fruits and the only veg I like is potato I really want to like them but I feel like throwing up any time I’m around them I hope I can like fruits one day

  • I like any fruit but I dont Like veggies except potatoes Help I want to gain weight bcs they always judge me and my confidence is at its lowest

  • “The speaker makes strong assertions about a specific diet that lack sufficient scientific evidence for general prescription.”
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Dr. Greg has reviwed hundreds of studies supporting plant based diets and yet, you say it “lacks sufficient scientific evidence for general prescription”? Where is the evidence about the safeness of the standart omnivorous diet? Tell me one single study or case study! I’m down to the fact that ignorance will always prevail… But simply do not misinform people! GREAT JOD Dr. GREGER!:D

  • At my younger age at TWENTY SIX yrs. old, I have already started consuming medicines to deal with my high blood pressure issues. Of all the alternative I have personally tried out, this guide could be the one that has shown to work on my blood pressure level. The medications recommended to me to use weren`t of used anymore after having a month of following this guide. I researched about this guide by Google. Name of this guidebook is Jason Cυnobroke

  • Fruits and Sweet Corn? That’s what you should be avoiding, not eating!
Safe fats like olive oil and avocado oil, meats and fish and no carbs is the way to reverse diabetes. Intermittent Fasting greatly helps the process.

  • Asparagus with butter and seasoning salt is amazing. Brussels Sprouts are good when you start by (spending a fuckton of time) pulling the leaves apart then just saute with butter. Then again, I was always the child who loved Brussels Sprouts. My parents were very happy for that.

Also, fun vegetables make it so much easier to get kids to eat them, if that’s ever your goal. My brother’s son seriously loves edamame in the pod. We try to always keep a bag in the freezer because it doesn’t matter what we’re having for dinner, if we have those we know he’ll eat something. He was so fascinated by them the first time we gave them to him and since he eats them with no problems.

  • It’s not sodium. It’s salt. Quit calling it sodium. I eat a lot of unrefined salt the last time i checked
    112 -60.
I am 73 and eat a diet high in unrefined sea salt and Himalayan rock salt.
Salt is not the problem, it’s the processing.

  • The only thing that disappoints me about keto is the fruit: I am an apple eater, dipped in yogurt. I have bananas on occasion too. Obviously, I’m not on keto but learning more about it (I already knew the basics). Oh, and beer. I like beer.:-(:-)

  • At my young age at TWENTY SIX yrs. old, I have already started out using medications to cope with my high blood pressure concerns. Right here is the very first high blood pressure method which has ever actually worked well to decrease my pressure without drugs. In just a thirty day period of adhering to the advice in the guide, there wasn`t any sort of desire for me to take all of my prescription medication.. I researched about this tip by Google. This tip is Jason Cυnobroke

  • Me too, I love vegetables way more than meat. They are so versatile! They are beautiful to look at too! I also like a little heat. Your way of cooking is how I cook, honestly. Use of herbs like scallions, cilantro, rosemary, coconut milk, curry paste, lime/lemon, and other spices all swimming in symphony. I am from Taiwan, so the fusion cooking is in my root.

  • Exactly the same feel like vomit. I understand how it good for your body but I just can’t take them inside my mouth, and don’t know what to do. I wish I could love them…

  • Garlic is seriously the best thing ever!!! I eat an entire thingy of garlic (clove? Or the cloves are pieces??) anytime I have had any kind of infection I eat garlic for like days and it works better ans fast thst the antibiotics the doctors prescribed me my whole life!!! GARLIC WORKS MIRAXLES FOR REAL!!!

  • Do anybody know about Custokebon Secrets? Does it really work? I hear many people lost their weight with this popular lose weight methods.

  • I love how you take the time to not only read the majority of the comments, but also reply to them.
I noticed I am very picky when it comes to vegetables by themselves, but when mixed into a lasagna or soup for example they taste amazing. So I think I’ll try to eat different dishes that involve these certain veggies to one day it them by itself or in a salad.
I’ll also try snacking on fruits too! (Cantaloupe, melon, mango, and watermelon, I don’t really like these )

  • I am forever grateful to Dr. Umoru who cured my mom from diabetes with his effective herbal medicine. • mixing something you love with something you hate is a great way to overcome not liking something
I hated cucumbers buut I started eating them in that one restaurant in a seaweed salad (I love seaweed) and now I actually like them cause they make me think of that salad <3

  • Bro seriously thank you im literally the meat cheese and bread guy that loves to cook so I leave out vegetables in recipes and it’s never as good I so need this!

  • Salt does not raise blood pressure appreciably! If it does then you are one in 250000! Carbs and insulin resistance are the biggest reason for high blood pressure!!

It is a great exclusive product for reversing diabetes minus the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cooworker got amazing results with it.

  • Yes, i agree this contents. It’s very useful information for us. Thank u

Diet plan should be balanced and individualized.
The calculated caloric requirement should allow the patient to lose or gain weight as required and maintain body weight close to the ideal/ desirable body weight.
Restrict refined and starchy food items such as maida, rava, white bread, potatoes, other tubers, processed foods and meats. For more details visit https://drmohans.com/dos-and-donts-in-diabetes/

  • The only reason I want to learn how to train myself so enjoy certain foods(tomatoes and avo) is because I want to get into cooking a bit more and as many people know you put tomatoes in like everything.

  • I’m having an issue it’s kind of hard because I travel for work and to be honest with you living out of hotels you really can’t prep your meal The only thing I have is a microwave and I hear using a microwave release and good for your food if you’re going to eat vegetables anything healthy wise I heard you shouldn’t use a microwave I don’t know how true this is anybody can explain a little further I really appreciate it but that’s the issue I’m having this why I’ve been slowly incorporating vegetables but I still find it hard to make the switch because I’ve been losing a lot of energy and the job I do is kind of strenuous and this is the problem I’m having I got to go right back to my old foods so if anybody has any recommendations on how to get over that weakness or that fatigue please let me know

  • A majority of the carbs I take in are from veggies and I have found that I don’t have to be as strict staying under my own goals of 25 carbs a day and have eaten as much as 50 and still stay in ketosis.

  • Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you tried Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive product for reversing diabetes without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my close friend Aubrey after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.

  • Thanks for letting people know about Dr. Greger. I keep telling my daughter about your channel everytime she complains about aches and pains. Thanks for all you do. The flax seed must be ground. I add mine to oatmeal with blueberries. Yummmm

  • NOTE FROM TED: This has been compelled on TED Talks by loads of legal actions by pharmaceutical companies and other nefarious capitalist organisations who make money at the expense of people’s lives

  • Good for you! Veg are wonderful, & I like your recipes, except for one detail. You see, I’m one of those weirdos who find cilantro, well, gross & disgusting, like its flavor is reminiscent of, well, soap. Is there another herb you can recommend in its place? In any case, keep up the good veg work. Here’s a hint: have you ever roasted beets? Peel ’em, toss in olive oil, place on a baking sheet of appropriate size, cover with foil & roast at 400-450 degrees, until tender, 35-45 minutes depending on their size. Those babies will blow your mind, they’re so sweet & delicious. You see, boiling beets sucks out its juices; roasting concentrates it. Just remember to wear gloves when you peel ’em, or you’ll have purple hands….and maybe purple clothes, in spots. Tho, in a pinch, you can get the stains off with bleach. Anyhow, thanks for your recipes! Tata.

  • Wash and boil zucchini, mash them a bit, beat in an egg season and mix well, sprinkle grated cheese and bake 15 mins. DELICIOUS ❣️❣️

  • The video intro pic with your mouth open, please don’t do that. The video title got my attention, don’t need the hyped pic. Fantastic information though, like all your videos so far.

  • Avocado
    Egg Plant
    French Green Beans
    Bell Pepper
    Swiss Chard

Zucchini should have made the list. 1.7G/100G net carbs and 260mg K

  • Hi Dr. Ekberg I love the cauliflower (mash/puree) I make. Steam the florets till they’re just soft. Then use the hand blender to make the mash add some Himalayan salt, butter, dash of cream & the best parmesan. It’s wonderful can eat a lot of this. Thanks for the interesting breakdown of nutrients.

  • I really struggle with food, I have since a young age. I got really sick as a baby which affected my diet and I missed the textures phase as a baby. • Never liked fruits and select veggies in my life( never ever even eaten one). But about 2 years ago i started liking salads, so from that i started to like veggies way more, but again i hated fruits. Today, after watching this video, i put a strawberey in my mouth and at first i didn’t like it at all, it was really sour but bite after bite it got sweeter. Anyway just wanna say thank you! • All this time, this guide is the better fix for individuals getting blood pressure level trouble. Simple language is employed to write it, which suggests it is easy to fully understand and carry out. People who have hypertension could have this book that I propose for coping with this condition. • I’m pretty picky, so I’ve been trying to get myself to eat more foods. I like most fruitsstrawberries, blueberries, pineapple, mango, kiwi, dragonfruit, blackberries, raspberries. You name it. I’m really big on texture, so I like the taste of banana, but I hate the texture and I can never eat it. I also hate tomatoes. I can’t eat raw tomatoes. I can eat them in different ways but not raw. With vegetables, I’m pretty much the same. Hate the texture of onion but love the flavor. So I’m trying really hard to incorporate these foods into my diet. Thank you for this video:’)

  • I love your videos. You teach me so much. Making healthy eating simple and no longer a painful maze. Please dear doctor, put this in an app.

  • Thanks, I sometimes use Flaxseed “milk” I will do this.. I am buying the book right now. You may have saved me great distress…. I was told never grind flax seed in bulk, grind it judt before you use it because it loses some nutrition if let to stand,. I j. I always grind it since it does not digest if left hole either/ Thanks so much I came back to see how fast it could possibly work. I just started this morning the ground flax seed tastes amazing.

  • Is it me, or do some of these people who are talking about a plant based diet talk like every word is part of the same sentence? They talk so fast, so machine-gun blurry, running one word into another, that I cannot even understand what they are saying. I am not hard of hearing, either. I am so sorry that I am missing most of what this man is saying, because he is either so caught up in himself and making his presentation absolutely stunning to capture his audience, or this is just the way he talks to his patients all the time, which is unimaginable. Good public speakers learn to enunciate their words, talk at a normal pace for everyone, and use inflections appropriately to emphasize what they are saying. They pause between ideas. This jumble of stuff makes me so mad, because too many people are losing much of what he is saying. Good communication keeps the listener in mind, which he obviously is not. Maybe he’s appealing to a younger crowd who likes speech at the speed of light. I don’t know. I’m just sorry I had to stop listening after a couple of minutes.

  • Thank you! I loved hearing your favorites and why and how you prepare them. One of my favorite vegetables to eat raw is Kohlrabi. I love the purple skin the best. I chop it in sticks and eat raw with salt!

  • you guys are dealing with very modest BP! my gf has had an aortic dissection and survived at age 63… she was put on 7 different meds from the hospital which left her like a zombie.. eventually she dropped all but 1 and take labetalol twice daily along with 2 carditone pills, awesome natural supplement! and has had crazy good drops from taking garlic, raw, swallowing the damv cloves twice daily… how high were her numbers? try 220 over 120!
the labetalol by itself is not enough…with the carditone, she can get it to 160/95… add in the garlic and she can achieve 120 or less over 70… sometimes too low at 90/60…… so when i hear people talking abt having “high” BP and how its been lowered by this and that, try imagining mailgnant chronic crazy high numbers like she had and trying to get That under control.

I had been able to reduce 35 points from my blood sugar levels right after a day on the diet program. Right after 4 days, I lost 60 points from my blood sugar levels. It has been effective for me personally. I am happy that my blood glucose is much better already…

  • When it comes to eating healthy, you have to never fall victim to modern fad diet plans. Extreme diet plans are a threat for your health, especially ones that seriously restrict your everyday nutritional intake. Many of these fad diets work for a short time period and then the benefits decrease after a while. You should look up Custokebon Secrets on google since it isn’t just another fad diet where you starve yourself.

  • You guys have amazing content. And then you shill for this biased vegan hack doctor. Salt doesn’t cause high blood pressure. Salt on a shitty standard American diet contributes to high blood pressure. If you cut all the high carb garbage out of your diet you can then eat salt in amounts intended for the human physiology. This is 4000mg to 6000mg a day. I shoot for 5000mg a day which is where I feel my best. Sugar is what raises blood pressure. Not salt. Cut the sugar. Increase salt which is what makes your freaking heart and brain function optimally

  • You can choose to add a food to decrease BP, or you can choose to remove a food to decrease blood pressure. I did both, added salt and fatty red meat and took away carbs. BP down from 170/90 to 116/80 in a few months. My previously ‘healthy’ low-fat, high carb (whole grains, fruits and starchy veggies) diet was clearly NOT healthy for me.

  • Quantitatively, hypertension is the most important modifiable risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease, being more common than cigarette smoking, dyslipidemia, or diabetes, which are the other major risk factors. Hypertension often coexists with these other risk factors as well as with overweight/obesity, an unhealthy diet, and physical inactivity. The presence of more than one risk factor increases the risk of adverse cardiovascular events.

The likelihood of having a cardiovascular event increases as blood pressure increases. In a meta-analysis of over one million adults, risk began to rise in all age groups with blood pressures greater than 115/75 mmHg. For every 20 mmHg higher systolic and 10 mmHg higher diastolic blood pressure, the risk of death from heart disease or strokes doubles.

  • I hate fruits and vegetables. Every time I try to eat them I gag, I hate the texture, I hate the smell that sounds weird but it’s true. • I found that practically impossible to consume 70% Fat 20% Protein <10% Carbs by weight. These % are not by weight but are % by source of calorie, is that correct? That means that we should know about calorie density of everything we eat. It will be more helpful to talk about calorie density of different fats compared to veggies and greens, proteins to portion accordingly.

  • I am 1000% for holistic care and proper nutrition but this video ignores and simplifies the issue of nutrition to one thing that I am not sure is really proven let me finish because there are SO many other variables. Many of them I have listed below.

People who go vegan necessarily have more money because the ‘typical American diet’ is cheaper. People with more money have better access to healthier food and better healthcare. People with more money typically have less stress, more sleep, ACTUAL TIME to exercise, time to unwind/destress, and time to do research on their diet – unlike people who are working paycheck to paycheck and have to choose between starving their family or feeding their family (albeit unhealthily). Processed and premade and fast food are all also less time consuming for people who are disabled and can’t cook for themselves without way too much effort OR people who work multiple jobs and don’t have time to cook/don’t want to eat cold food all the time/maybe want to spend their extra time with their family and not in the store and kitchen.

If all you had to do to be healthy was to go vegan, then people would do it. It’s more complicated than that.
What are people’s incomes vs net income vs after expenses?
What about water intake? What about drinking calories vs eating?
How many refined foods/grains are these people having? That can affect your body and energy too.
Did the quality of their diet change? Portion size? Frequency of eating? Time of day that they were eating?
Did they change their sleeping habits? The frequency of exercise? The intensity of exercise? General movement?
What about stress levels? Hope (which 100% can change outcomes)? Meditation? Mental health?
What about their quality of sleep? Hours of sleep? Exposure to blue light?
What about family history? Were they healthy before and got sick and so they’re reverting?
What about body type? Some people have a harder time losing weight due to genetics, but having higher weight doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re unhealthy because of lean mass and bone density and the way that your body processes nutrients.
What about disability? What about eating disorders, anemia and nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, intolerances, sensitivities? Mobility issues including but not limited to chronic pain, chronic fatigue, chronic illness? Dexterity related issues?
What about alcohol intake? Smoking? Vaping? Abusing RX drugs? Using illicit drugs?
What about religious dietary restrictions? What about fasting?
Did they study people of varying ages? What about cultural and ethnic diversity? My cousin who is very much Scots-Irish/UK descendent went vegan in high school and got ridiculously sick: hair falling out, pale, anemic, and weaned back onto eating meat and got better. My friend who is Eastern European descent was raised vegan and is perfectly fine. Different bodies need different things.
And for some people, like myself, a vegan diet is not feasible or healthy. Whatsoever. Even if everything else before this was perfectly in order, it would not be healthy for me to be vegan.
Where do you get iron? If being vegan is so healthy, why do so many vegans have anemia?
What about sufficient sources of protein in smaller serving sizes? I am personally allergic to legumes (nuts and beans) and soy, and I’m sensitive to milk so I can only get sufficient protein through eating chicken. (I’m also allergic to red meat and seafood).

I have not checked the individual studies yet, so fair enough, and I’m aware that he has a larger website that may be better at addressing these issues, but alone? This video does a very, very poor job at addressing nutrition because it oversimplifies. As someone who cares soo much about nutrition, especially after finding out how many freaking food allergies I have, I was disappointed at his lack of specificity and nuance in his explanations of his sources, his lack of consideration for outliers, and his overreliance on the historical general and medical opinions on smoking that he didn’t sufficiently prove to be relevantly analogous to eating animal products.

I also found his sarcasm very offputting, especially for a persuasive speaker. I guess it’s a stylistic choice but I find that sarcasm, an ‘isn’t this obvious’ attitude and mockery are really bad for persuading people (even if he is exactly right). And personally? I don’t see people change when they are made fun of. I see them dig in their heels. But if he approached this topic with more earnestness or sensitivity, and also didn’t oversimplify, then I think he could’ve been very convincing.

  • Literally the only fruits I can eat are bananas cherries and blueberries. The only vegetables I can eat are potatoes lettuce and corn. But the thing is I CAN eat them, I dont necessary LIKE them so I basically never eat them anyways. I hate my tastebuds.

  • Of a truth there is no known pharmaceutical cure for Diabetes, but the good news is ‘Diabetes is cured naturally by herbal medicine and with the right herbal proportion.
Doctors told my husband no cure, and still advised him not to research that he won’t succeed and never offer him a solution. Thanks to the media and internet where I found Dr Utu @ [email protected] gmail.com who is an African Roots and Herbal practitioner. I saw testimonials and we decided to give it a trial and thank God today my husband is Diabetes-free and he had said bye to pharmaceutical drugs for good.

  • Swiss Chard is great sauteed with garlic and olive oil. Celery and cheese and celery and peanut butter are great snacks. Another thing I like to sautee and garlic and olive oil with chili flakes.Jim Parsley I just haven’t found a way to use it as a main dish but it does fit into my chimichurri. I love tomatoes but I’ve heard so much about lectins in the skin of the tomato. What are your thoughts on that concept. Is leaky gut

  • Kudos for the video content! Apologies for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you thought about Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (just google it)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for reversing diabetes minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my mate finally got cool success with it.

  • I like your list, I’m learning to use spaghetti squash as well. Helps me with my craving for spaghetti and meat sauce. I love my meat sauce. Last recipe I used it for was a version of a pasta dish that has smoked oysters, shredded crab, small shrimp, sliced black olives, artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, green onions. Use a zesty Italian dressing and your favorite seasons. I am just now learning to use nutritional yeast. Ive added that to each of these recipes!!! Yummy!

  • “We can’t wait until society catches up to the science again, because it’s a matter of life and death.” This, and all of your speech and the reference to the Cigarettes promotion campaign, applies so well to Climate Change.
It’s a matter of life and death. Listen to the science. Corporations are paying millions to manufacture skepticism and denial.
    Listen, listen, listen.

The latest video on calcium channel blockers has important patient information to prevent toxic buildup

  • That may be true. But learn a real lesson from history. The Hindu’s are the earliest vegetarian society ever found. they balanced their diets perfectly…. by 1526, their society had been completely conquered by the Mughal empire. The Hindu emperor fled, hiding in the mountains. If the British hadn’t intervened….. Hindu culture would be extinct. So you want to go vegan? What kind of soldiers will you raise?

  • Too many people simply don’t want to change, get angry when it’s suggested and even go so far as to blame you & others for their poor health. I know someone who the night before a major operation was smoking *despite being told not to smoke at least two weeks before the op) whilst telling me they feared they would die on the operating table. They ended up in the ICU fighting for their life. Weeks later they were back to smoking and blaming the hospital for “nearly killing” them. The worst lie is the one people tell themselves. Only they can help themselves.

  • Hello Gentlemen thanks for the info. I have used flax seed meal and pineapple juice to get arthritis relief. Please understand, I am NOT a medical professional and am sharing from the perspective of being educational in scope and from my own experience. Everyone must see their own medical professional for correct diagnoses and follow-up medical care.

I took daily doses of 2 Tbs. Flax seed MEAL (really important seeds don’t break down in the body grind the seeds, place in a glass jar in the refrigerator after opening) in 8 ozs. Pineapple juice. Mix well and drink. The arthritis manifested in my left hand, middle finger with pain and swelling in the knuckle closest to my palm. I was not able to fold my finger down to any degree without a significant pain attack. I did not want to take pain meds; I wanted the condition gone! I took this daily over a period of three months and have not suffered from this anymore for over 8 years. I stopped taking it when the pain and swelling stopped. Since that time I have been able to fold my fingers down at the top of my palm and every other naturally occurring functional finger positions with no discomfort at all. How does this work? Pineapple is a natural anti-inflammatory which washes out the inflamation in the knuckles and joiins while the Flax seed meal lubricates the joints with the Omega 3 oil that it contains. This is not recommended for those who are allergic to anything stated above or those who are pre-diabetics or diabetics (either 1 or 2).

Still, you must follow your doctor’s instructions as they are best suited to diagnose and treat conditions.

  • Talks in the most annoying way possible. He constantly speeds up and down, several times in one sentence. How can anyone understand what he’s trying to say?

  • Great presentation as usual, very eye opening! I liked the comparison with the tobacco industry and smoking, the same is happening now with the “food” industries and nutrition! Thanks to doctors like you, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Brooke Goldner, and many others, people are starting to wake up to the truth! As a future physician myself, I appreciate your work!

  • WTF is this “NOTE FROM TED: Please do not look to this talk for medical advice. The speaker makes strong assertions about a specific diet that lack sufficient scientific evidence for general prescription.” I think TED needs to look into who’s uploading these videos.
