  • You don’t need to rinse chicken. In fact, the CDC now recommends against it, because it’s more likely to cause contamination to do all that handling of it and getting raw chicken juices in the sink. The cooking kills the nasties in the raw chicken. Also, I’m not a guy. Thumbs down for sexist language:( Hopefully I can give you a thumbs up next time.:)

  • Good vid bro but if I can make a suggestion, get a Sistema microwave steamer for the vegetables instead as those plastic bags still leak chemicals into your food. Plus, the steamer costs under $20 which is really not bad!

  • I can’t wait to try these! I will try the bbq first! I’ve never liked to cook chicken in the crock pot because they came out almost mushy. I WAS COOKING THEM TOO LONG! I LOVE cooking and shredding chicken in advance and keeping them in meal-sized bags to pull out and quickly & easily heat when needed. THANKS!!!

  • Thanks man, this gave me a good path to follow. Couple things if you want to boost flavor:

    1) Start with 2 cups (or more if you’re feeling saucy) of chicken stock, then top off with water. Use fat-free, low sodium stock if you like. NOTE: you will be adding a few calories by doing this, but the enjoyment is worth it, I feel.

    2) If you REALLY wanna spice it up, take your chicken stock and water, and pour it into a pot. Add your seasoning of choice (lemon pepper or cajun works amazing, but you do you), put over high heat and bring to a boil and stir. Boil for a few minutes and let those flavors really permeate that liquid. Take the pot off the heat and throw it in the fridge (put the pot on a folded towel if you have a fancy fridge with glass shelves so there’s no chance the glass will shatter). Let cool completely. Use THAT as your braising liquid. Goddamn that’s some flavor!

  • the only time you can put food in a sink is this the drain is what we call in the plumbing industry safe waste therefore you would need an air gap between the pipe from the sink into the drain where does trap and the amount of air gap should be at least one and a half times the diameter of which the pipe is coming from the sink…… and you threw a lot of good chicken away if you want to get big you have to take steroids sorry my man that’s just the way it is

  • I was in india and they make something exactly the same, but they use a lot of spices and herbs..they boil the chicken, with chicken broth, then shred the chicken after its cooked, then they add oil into a pan fry the chicken, they add mix bell pepper, onions, curry leave, fresh coriander leaves, dried fenugreek leaves. Spices and herbs. It taste awesome. Indian food is very rich in spices and herbs. I just fell in love with their food. There are so many spices and herbs that they use in their cuisine. How they remember all the spices its amazing.

  • I’m sorry but anyone watching this vid in the future NEVER fill up a crockpot with water to cook meat. It pulls all the natural juices out of the chicken and leaves you with a dry mess of chicken. If you dont want to cook with marinades you only need a little water. Just put the chicken in with a tablespoon of oil and spices. The natural juices in the meat will cook it.

    What macro ratio’s do you do btw? I like protein:carbs at 4:6 with fat at minimal…

  • Just a few tips to make it better because I know for sure that’s not good bro. First season the chicken with salt, garlic, red pepper, extra virgin olive oil, lemon and I like to add a little bit of teriyaki sauce and let it marinate for a few minutes. And don’t add a lot of water instead only add maybe 2 cups because the chicken already release water by the time it’s done you don’t wanna have your chicken looking like soup. This way all the water will be gone and you will want to keep the chicken cooking without water you will be crispy and tender just like KFC chicken but healthy. You are welcome.

  • If you want this to taste way better put a can of salsa in the croc pot minus putting your chicken breast in the sink. Season with cumin, adobo, chili powder or you can just leave plain and it’s good. You can’t make taco salads, tacos put in wraps and have that Mexican vibezzzzz

  • This is exactly how i started cutting fat and losing weight. Throw it in around 10pm, sleep, wake up and portion out into prep containers. For more flavor i started mixing in 2 small store bought curry blocks. with a little bit of weight training, the fat is disintigrating

  • Wtf that’s so fucking bland. And when that chicken dries out over the course of the week, it’ll taste like cardboard. Why would you drain out all the juices; that broth contains so much of the flavor extracted from the meat (amino acids released from the meat provide that savory umami flavor).
    You can make so many far better tasting recipes with the crock pot that are still very nutritious.

  • do the containers hold up well in the microwave? Every time I have Tupperware or anything similar it gets stains and rough spots from where the food gets hot during microwaving

  • I do the same thing except I put lemon slices on top and Italian seasoning and it’s so good! The lemon gives everything such a nice zest! But I don’t do the tomato sauce. Ima have to try that!

  • Not many people are browning the chicken first which brings out its natural flavors etc. Then deglaze the pan you did that in and then add to slow cooker. The meal is good but it has the potential to be great.

  • For anyone freaking out about him preparing chicken from the sink; bacteria is killed when heat reaches a certain point. Unless there’s an unknown bacterial type, it dies at 120 F.

    Basically, as long as the temperature in the crockpot gets that high, you don’t need to worry about ANYTHING being present on your food after it is cooked.

  • Out flippin standing, I have incorporated all these into my cooking rotation. All are excellent for meal preps and large group pleasing dishes. I am forever tweaking the bbq mix depending on desired sweetness or smokiness. I use the mexican chicken as the chicken for tortilla soup! Your seasonings work great for grilling and some fish dishes!
