  • Everybody ‘s metabolism is different. I’m fairly inactive and I gain weight if I eat more than 1200 calories. To lose weight I eat 800-900 calories a day..
    There’s no one size fits all in the number people should be consuming daily but I think it 2000 max for women and about 3000 for guys

  • For everyone stating that 1200 is not low and it is fine because she is small:
    I am 5 feet tall and weigh 113 lbs, 19% body fat, and eat 1500 cals at maintenance, 1350 when on a cut and even 1350 is going pretty low. im still working on getting my maintenance to be higher without gaining weight. for those of you saying you are small and you NEED to eat 1200 or less to not gain weight, it is because you have crashed your metabolism. eating at such low cals for such a long time has led to your body hanging onto extra cals for dear life when you get them in. focus on fixing your metabolism, put some more muscle on your body as muscle burns more muscle at rest than anything else, and focus on things like stress and sleep quality and you will find you can eat more without gaining. also make sure your hormones are in check. also make sure you are picking nutritionally dense foods; if youre eating 1200 cals a day from only donuts and bacon or something, obviously you might be losing weight but holding on to fat only in the abdomen. basically, educate yourself and eat more!! the only ppl upset in the comments with your comments are from those equipped with knowledge. being small is not an excuse to undereat. im tiny but i care so much about my body, i would never crash diet my body so low on 1200 cals.

  • These are definitely some of the better smoothies I’ve seen I like how you are not afraid of good fats and that you sort of kind of break down the nutritional content of your recipes. I add chia seeds to mine as well as some sort of leafy green (spinach, kale, or chard) and a handful of frozen celery instead of ice. The extra calories and fibre mean that my breakfast smoothies get me to lunch as much as five hours later. Starting the day with such a complete and nourishing meal sets the tone for the rest of my food choices that day. I’ve been doing a smoothie for breakfast every morning for just over a month. Not seeing any results on the outside, but I have way more energy and just generally feel better overall.

  • Okay I know this is late asf but HOLY SHIT this is the first I’ve heard of that ice cream method stuff and I am blown away I swear I could make this every day. I have restricted myself to a certain amount of calories but this recipe has saved me today from going over. I added a lil bit too much of the gum stuff and it kinda got very big (I used the large ninga) and I used vegan protein powder which worked fine(vega proteins and greens vanilla). I didnt add much flavour or sugars cause I just wanted to experiment with this today and wowowoowow idek what to say I have been saved. I’ve been having cravings all day and now I’m so full I dont think I could even finish this stuff. Btw, i added up all the calories and it came to 165. This is crazy.

  • Guys 1200 calories is fine. If your on the short side you gain weight quickly if you eat too much. I’m 5 ft 1 and I eat 1200-1300 and I’m okay, it just depends on your body.

  • That parmesan seasoning is not actually 0 calories. You can tell it is rounded down from 3 or 4 calories because you can see underneath that there is 0.2g of fat (every gram of fat is 9 calories) and some protein. Plus the serving size is one half of a teaspoon so a few tablespoons contain like 50 calories or so. At that point you may just add a few pinches of actual cheese.

  • @will the whole billions thing id probably the number of bacteria in a pill. I am not big on supplements, but i do work in molecular biology and thise numbers would make sense if they were numer of bacteria

  • The best weight loss I experienced was portion control,water and exercise. I never felt deprived. Cooked all my meals and snacked if I wanted. 1200 cal. sounds about right.

  • The only healthy way of having a 1200 calorie diet would be with an incredible slow basal metabolism (which I doubt is less than 1500 at it’s rare lowest) and absolutely NO excercise. One session of cardio for 1 hour can burn from 200 to 400 calories depending on the excercise and intensity. It would make the net calorie availability from 1000 to 800 calories which is totally unsustainable and unhealthy in the long term.

    I’m not saying that a 1200 calorie diet cannot be done, I’m saying that it need super caution and attention to avoid health issues. Be careful with what you try out there, people. Be safe.

  • I know I’m late… But when making your ice cream, consider starting with all of the ingredients in your blender except for the xanthan gum! Let it all blend with the water and get all runny! Then once it’s all combined just dump the xanthan gum in and it will thicken real quick (30sec) and be done!

  • I’m calorie counting but I rotate between numbers like 1200/1400/1600/1800 and switch it up per day so my body doesn’t get used to the reduced calories and reach a plateau.   • 1200 calories is not too low it’s recommended for a woman to have 2000 and exercise. If you don’t exercise it’ll be less than 2000. And to lose weight a 500 deficit is recommended so that’s 1500 If you don’t exercise its 1200 but it’s not recommended to go bellow 1200. (Also it depends on the intensity of the exercise)

  • People here complaining that 1200 calories is not enought. I eat 600 on my “bad days”. Normally i would eat 400 to 500 calories, and i am a pretty active teenager.

  • 1200 calories a day is all about what you’re eating. If you’re eating junk, that can be one meal but if you’re eating healthy than can easily be 3 meals a day with snacking if you really need it.

  • I hate that legally anything under 5 calories is considered 0 cal i count my coffee 2 cal each and 2 splenda pks 6 i have 8 cups of coffee thats 16 plus 48 in splenda 64 cals

  • Eating healthy foods also keep you full longer because they are high in fiber. So even with 1200 cal if your doing it right it shouldn’t be unhealthy. Also height and weight matters

    Ps. No it’s not low for everyone. Low is 400-600 calories a day because you can actually get sick

  • These are some great ideas! Personally 1200 is too low for me because my bmr alone is 1500 and I work a very active job plus working out. But I love to eat and snack so I need some more low calorie foods haha great video!

  • I’ve been eating around 1200 calories and I don’t think it’s good for long term. Maybe if you need to lose weight. I’m only 110 lbs now which is not good cause I’m a 6ft guy.

  • 1200 calories is enough especially if your eating Whole Foods. Fruits and vegetables are low in calories most people think it’s not a lot because they are used to eating very processed foods that are high in calories and not filling at all. I’m 5’9 and not very active right now so it’s good for me. But when I go back to playing sports I eat around 1500-1800

  • I’m a 6 ft male and I had to go to 900 calories a day to lose weight. I started on 1500 and didn’t lose a pound. Actually gained about 3. Everybody is different. I tried to stay at 900 but a few days I only did like 600. I don’t see how anybody loses weight on 1200 calories.

  • Everybody’s body is different but the average adult should be getting about 2000 calories a day. If your trying to lose weight you should be in a calorie deficit of 1600 to 1800.

  • The bad thing is that where I live we don’t have some of the things you use, well, we have but not in the way you have like egg whites, here we don’t have bottles of only egg whites to sell, we can just buy a whole egg and separate whites from yolk… But what do I do with the yolks?

  • I have to be honest here. I am 152cm and eating 1200 calories is very less but i do survive. I gain 22 kilos in prag and now i am eating 1200 calories and doing excercise at home and in 3 months i lost 11 kilos. I am happy that it works for many of us but believe me 1200 u cant have the food u want. U can clearly see her food as well, mostly berries, smothies, veggies.   • I eat four 300 calorie meals every day which puts me at a 500 calorie deficit. A pound of fat is approximately 3500 calories so I’m on track with losing a pound a week. I don’t really like breakfast food so I did kind of the opposite you did, a low calorie breakfast and a higher calorie supper. If you drink enough water 1200 calories keeps you full!!

  • My recommended daily calorie intake to maintain my weight is 1600 (I eat more if I’m active that day) calorie intake is very vague, it’s different for everybody but it has to do with your age, height, weight and activity level. For low activesedentary people, calorie intake is usually less. For active people, it’s more. It all depends. You just have to make sure that you feel full and satisfied after every meal, that’s always my goal.

  • In some Asian countries this is considered A LOT of food! She’s eating a healthy amount and everything is nutritious. Keep up the good work! You don’t have to eat a massive amount of calories per day. It depends on HEIGHT, CURRENT WEIGHT, BODY TYPE, GENES, and many other criteria. Every single person is different and unique in what they can and can’t eat. Just like some people can eat whatever they want and not gain weight, some people have to restrict ALOT just to lose weight. Metabolism, gut health, genetics all play a part in this.
