  • There was el pollo loco next the McDonald’s she went to! She should have went there and got something good instead of a freaking fish sandwiches!

  • If I ever go to TB, Veggie power bowl! Only thing I ever order. I customize it: veggie bowl, no sour cream, no avocado ranch. And it’s good!

  • Same talk.. same jokes over and over! With all my respect, i have to say that you restrict lots of healthy foods. You don’t eat fruits alone and don’t do dried fruits and nuts! Your diet is v restrictive. I managed to lose 70 lbs eating ALL plant foods no oil, including nuts and avocados.

  • Just found you on YouTube. Enjoying catching up on some of your videos. I am a warfarin patient, having had a valve replacement. I also have fatty liver, non alcohol, take a statin, among many other health issues. Also pre diabetic. Triglycerides are crazy high. Looking for a diet that will help while also being cognizant of vitamin K intake. Havent found anything thus far. Suggestions or possibly a future video? Thanks and look forward to watching more videos.

  • Your exposure is valid for obese people in an early stage who initiate the diet and alter the standard of living. Current studies, as well as Ayurvedic medicine, know that high quality oil and fat helps in weight loss. It all depends on the physical constitution and the digestive capacity. However, your theory is valid! In spite of knowing the cietntifca evidence of some myths of which you still believes, you did a good job!

  • i have been following the WFPB for the past 2 weeks and my sugar cravings are gone! if i crave a snack, it’s an orange. I really thought my sugar cravings were going to keep me from enjoying this style of eating.

  • I ate one avocado the other night and the next day I had two huge tender pimples on my forehead which I never as a 63 year old woman get! It a sure bet when I eat overt fats I will break out

  • His plans are brilliant and they work, did the 5:2 plan years ago and lost weight & felt Healthier than ever. The 800 cal diet is really for obese people, that need to lose weight quickly for health reasons. I still fast 2/3 days a wk. No longer crave sugar or have hunger pains.

  • well remember people that 100 grams of carbs is about 400 kcals and if you eat 50 gram each meal, 2 meals a day with protein and water +salt. You can manage it, He does not mean you should go LOW carb under 25 grams a day, he just say low carb, THere is liberal Low carb also (100-150 grams) a day, I think u Can get away with easy 100 grams of carbs a day without getting keto flue and still manage under 800 calories. Eat Fiber. I will try it:P

  • Oh my… Chocolate has always been my down fall! This information is very informative and I will implement this in my daily life. #lifestylechanges

  • Found your channel when I decided to give up sugar back in February. I like your videos in part because of the gentle approach; you don’t try to bully or shame people. Your 0 1 2 3 plan got me into everyday salads this year. My favorite homemade dressing is made from olive oil, apple cider vinegar, spicy brown mustard and lemon juice, with spices added. Its cheap to make and very tasty. Just curious did you go out and buy those sugary bottled dressings just to be able to show us the ingredients on the video?!

  • Looking at your salad, makes me think that I’m completely overloading mine and possibly with the wrong stuff! (Red onion, bell peppers, cauliflower, chicken AND avocado AND a mature cheese.) What do you suggest I change? Also, I’ve found my body reacts to nuts…not anaphylactic, but slight wheezing. Do you think this will ever go away, so I may enjoy these wonderful treats again? Thanks again for all your time and effort to create these videos! I love the scientific research you share with us! Blessings!

  • What about all homemade fermented foods (including sourdough, sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, non-dairy fermented beverages and water kefir) and commercial fermented pastes/sauces that only are spices/peppers and water (no salt)?

  • I am getting keto flu just by looking at the meal. Nope, I need my rice & beans for my mental health. I cannot work if I feel angry daily.

  • Yes, fresco menu! Or get a power burrito, without sour cream& cheese. It cuts, about 200 calrious out! Also, McDonald’s salad is the bestter option. The fish fillet, is 100% aritifical. going to Definetly try the egg whites.

  • It’s fraud! Nice one brainwashing people because you a doctor. Rapid weight lose is not the way and non of his crap of 800 calories. Good luck people. I hope some of you will wake up from that dream

  • GREAT Video, well explained and informative. Going through the steps of eating certain foods as you did is the best way for us to understand. Appreciate yr efforts, yr enthusiasm and yr efforts to help all overweight people especially the emotional eaters who r on a rise due to stressful situations in their lives. God bless you dear. You look so pretty.
All the best for The New Year

  • 800 calories is a stupid idea all the knowing drs. will tell you when you go off it the weight will pile back on.
    Mosely is a quack

  • Stupid shows like this where they have guests on for 3 minutes with useful information and celebrity gossip for half an hour. Ridiculous.

  • I’ve been successfully stumbling forward in this direction and then found this. perfect. still chicken salmon some good beef I feel is ok.

  • If he stole from Keto, which advocates virtually NO carbs, then why did he say he doesn’t think it is good to eat low carb all the time?!?! The 5:2 diet is great and very sustainable. The main thing is to eat healthy, real food, not processed junk and and have treats as treats, not regular food!!

  • 12 weeks on 800 calories a day? You serious? Have you read the Minnesota starvation experiment? This is a recipe for disaster. 800 calories for 2 weeks max. Then at least 2 weeks break with maintenance calories. Or you are for sure gonna start to go into starvation mode and this will have after effects for a long time.

  • I remember doing this 30yrs ago almost, didnt even know I was doing someting amazing back then, but it worked!! after having my son, i was loosing weight so fast during the week and on weeksends i was eating normal foods. I need to do this again. Lost about 15 / 18 kg by restricting calories intake during the week i was eating ” limit ” biscuits that no longuer exsist and then eating normal foods on week ends

  • wow I’m amazed! I really thought I new a lot about this, it explains my lack of weight loss! I’m still a bit confused about fats, I was led to think we needed a good amount of healthy fats for optimum brain function. So during weight loss, with a minimum to no amount of nuts/avocado/seeds, could you please tell me if it effects brain function? Is it OK to have non of these in your diet? Thanks for the video I feel excited to eat again

  • 800 kcal/day x 9-12 weeks = 14 kg weight loss. 800 kCal = Low carb: after 10 h fasting = sleeping + 2 h, then kicks in the fat burning cycle.

  • I have been doing the 5:2 diet for a couple of weeks, and have lost 7 pounds already. I find it has helped reduce my appetite on non-fasting days, which in turn also helps with weight loss!

  • delicious!! looks like one of the salads I usually make for work! I eat so many salads I’ve had ppl ask me if I’m vegetarian

  • Thanks again Dr. Mosley! The 5:2 was the best thing I ever did for myself. Many of the people that don’t understand the science behind the books should watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihhj_VSKiTs or watch it on BBC “Eat, Fast, Live Longer” Changed my life!

  • Becky, I’d love to see your opinion on the comparison of the nutrients in nuts/seeds to nut butters. I try to avoid nuts/seeds for digestive tract issues, but are nut butters a good and equal alternative for the reasons you added walnuts and sunflower seeds to your salad?

  • this is a little irritating as I was doing the dukhan diet when the 5.2 came out and I was doing around 800 calories a day on that as I found it very manageable.
But I knocked it on the head. I’ve recently gone on the 5.2 and found it even better. But now I’m not so sure lol.

  • He made himself gaining weight and lose weight to test out but he did not look old at all, amazing! I guess “fasting” is good to body

  • Fasting on Mondays and Thursdays

Abu Qatada reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about fasting Mondays and he said, “That is the day on which I was born and the day when I was sent – or when revelation descended on me.” [Muslim]

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Actions are presented on Mondays and Thursdays, so I like my actions to be presented while I am fasting.” [at-Tirmidhi]

`A’isha said, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to take care to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.” [at-Tirmidhi]

  • Well as they say, this is for fas and then ypu should swich over to forexampel 5:2. I am doing 5:2 and feel gret but think I might do 800 for maby 2 or 3 weeks and then go back to 5:2 or 5:1

  • Eat way, way more greens. I use a mixing bowl. My svg is “for 4 ppl” lol so eat 6-7 cups and add other fibrous vegs too. Make sure your protein is about 28g at LEAST per meal. I eat omad so i eat 56-70g protein in n with my salad.
But even for just 1 meal out of 3, eat way more greens/lettuces.

  • He steals the data and research form other scientists and puts it altogether to sell books, when did he become a qualified Doctor? Is he actually a Doctor of Medicine? Or a Doctor of English? This man is getting away with blue murder.

  • Now I am reeeeeaaaaaaaallllly disappointed, Michael. What I exactly liked how different the 5:2 was. Now this is what everyone else says.. I am yawning……

  • Love your salad! I eat that exact one but add arugula & use fresh lemon & Evoo/avocado oil for my dressing! YUMMMM!! Thank you Dr Becky & your husband for truth about keto & intermittent fasting. Oh, and your wonderful recipes!

  • Yeah this ain’t good! And how is he calling 800 calories fasting?! How about, eat a good amount of calories, low carb and intermittent fast? That would work better. As others have mentioned, just eating a very low calorie diet and 3 square meals a day is disaster! Your metabolism will plummet!

  • Have a look at the biggest loser show, a huge calorie deficit, then the body slows metabolism, do this a few times and you may never get your metabolism humming along again. Quackery, and follow the money. He didn’t invent I.F (intermittent fasting), we have fasted for all of our existence, until the last 60 to 80 years. Slow and steady move your breakfast an hour at a time, to increase the fasting length, water or black tea,or coffee, will help, and won’t break a fast, but there have not been a lot of scientific studies on fasting, especially for fat loss. Here is some good free advice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li9aTbsZ9io. Try for yourself, don’t trust your health to anyone else, but yourself.

  • This diet BS is getting old! Mosley, everyone knows if you eat 800 cals you will lose weight but it is also proven that weight wise, it will cause metabolic adaptation and will create in the long term, more issues than the poor person started with. Shame on you Mosley!

  • This is a no shit thing. If you’re consuming 2000 calories daily, and then randomly consume 800 daily, you’re gonna lose some weight. After you get off the diet, you’ll go back to your shitty habits and gain it back and be confused as to why you’ve gained weight. The funny thing is that this isn’t even realistic!

  • Thanks for this very informative talk!
However, it seems this is not the case for someone who struggles with PCOS. It is recommended to substitute carbs with healthy sources of fat like coconut oil, avocados, nuts, and tahini so basically a low-carb-high-fat diet. What is your recommendation?

  • How is this even news? Yes of course Yll lose weight in the short term, it’s just caloric deficit. Then put it back on when going back to old habits.

  • This is my kind of salad. I bought several of the PK dressings & BBQ sauces when they were on sale at Sprouts! I’m not that big a fan of Spring Mix because of the bitter greens in there but I love spinach and baby romaine.:) All the other ingredients are faves! Thank you!

  • Thank you SO muchI see my salad was too big! BTWgive Flax oil a try as a salad oilit actually tastes very good, like walnuts. I use 2 hard boiled eggs (14g protein), a whole small avocado (they just don’t keep well once cut), from my garden: small cucumber, a tomato, if a red pepper is ready I’ll toss half of that in too. Greens include flavorful savoy cabbage, and some chard leaf from the garden in a handful of lettuces. I guess I need to cut my salad in half!

  • I’ve always found im more satisfied when I have a big great salad, and it just makes me feel good, I do this everyday, lots of spinach, and spring mix, my salad bowl is huge. I add organic tomato’s, grated parmesan cheese, feta, the dressing is avocado oil with a lot of ground up peppercorn inside, and i add roasted soybeans for crunch. Great salad!!!!

  • Dr. Becky,
Thanks so much for the valuable information. Always looking for GREAT recipes to include in my keto food plan.

Happy to be a new subscriber.

  • Dr Becky! I am a cardiac surgery RN, a mother, and a lover of exercise my whole life.. but finally I found your nutritional advice has caused a true paradigm shift in my lifestyle and body.. thank you for this!! I have started sharing your channel and your other channel with my colleagues and athlete friends… I have gone low carb and have seen my body become so much more sculpted. I am still a bit confused however on fiber.. I cook with chic peas all the time and use Chia flax and hemp seeds in smoothies to break my fast.. where do beans belong in the low carb diet? Thank you for all of your wonderful information! I will continue to share…

  • I like your presentation your voice and last but not the least your pretty self. keep your good work going and video more on eggless dishes.thankyou doctor

  • Due to health reason I have been practicing OMAD since Feb now in June lost a lot of weight but two diabetes glucose tests from my doctor surgery are high why? I am worried now

  • 2:23 Pieces from a boneless, skinless baked chicken breast has four times the protein than the goat cheese! High protein is good to shed body fat.

  • When I eat fast food I try to eat salads and wraps and I been eating subway than McDonald’s I would rather have subway than McDonald’s I love eating wraps and salads and smoothies

  • I just saw that Chef AJ’s book The Secrets to Ultimate Weight Loss is less than $10 for the Kindle edition! 117 recipes for that price would be SO worth it! I’m going to buy it today! ♥️

  • Loved the video. Question, if I wanted to make my own Olive oil * Vinegar dressing, how much oil & how much vinegar would be appropriate?

  • I loved this one! Little different twist on your channel. I also usually do Starbucks for “fast food”. I’m a nurse so sometimes I swing by there and get their blueberry oatmeal before work. It’s yummy & ties me over.

  • New subscriber!!
I am so glad I found your channels! I am a 45 yo mom of 10 and I have lost 45 pounds on keto! I am needing to pick up things to lose the last 15-20 pounds, thanks for the motivation! It’s so refreshing to see a woman I can relate to. You are beautiful❤️

  • I would increase the protein content because at 13.3 grams of protein, it is not enough. We should consume at least 20 to 30 grams of protein per meal. Fortunately, in this salad which seems delicious, it is easy to add protein like eggs, meat, fish, etc… even if it adds calories to the salad because protein is SO important.

  • With fast food it’s easy. Take your pick about skipping the mayo(50-100cals), cheese(20-40cals), dressing/sauce (15-100cals), bun and burrito tortilla is usually 200cals, etc. It’s pretty easy. Go for a burrito bowl instead and skip the side of chips.
All lot of places will even give you a low carb option by wrapping your burger in lettuce. Subway will even scoop out the bread filling for you! That fillet O-Fish can be 270cals easy if you skip the tartar and cheese and ask for pickles instead

  • I make this spring mix salad 2X a week (also from Costco). I also add avocado and/or an egg, and mixed nuts. If I don’t use egg, I’ll have a can of sardines in olive oil on the side. My dressings consist of EVOO, MCT oil, ACV, balsamic vinegar, and freshly ground peppercorn. Also on the sides are pickled cucumber, olives, and sauerkraut.

  • Just a question can I eat this with no gallbladder? It’s been 2 years since my surgery but still have problems with eating high fat foods

  • honestly this was a quality video bc i always try to eat healthy until i get the munchies and i go to taco bell or mcdonalds so this is a move

  • I had this salad for lunch today except I added soft goat cheese instead of feta and I had to also eat some sardines to bring me to full satiety. Great lunch today!

  • I just ordered your book, Chef AJ! I’m so excited for it to arrive! I made the decision to go unprocessed (vegan, of course!) to lose weight, and my husband and daughter agreed to do it with me, but I haven’t been sure how to begin. Then, I watched this video, tonight, and ordered your book (which was on sale, hurray!). Thank you for making it easier for me to move ahead with my weight loss and health journey!

  • That fish sandwich is fried and has cheese and sauce on it. You could get a grilled chicken sandwich for far more protein and less fat at both McDonalds and Wendys. Also, at Taco Bell you could get the taco salad and ditch the shell. Way more protein and more filling carbs (beans).

  • Can someone with type 2 diabetes report their blood sugars before and 2 hrs after a meal that follows AJ’s plans? With details of what you ate and how much you ate.

  • Hey same taco bell has pinto beans i usually ask for them without the cheese and without the red sauce, just pinto beans. Theyre yummmy!

  • Did you know that restraints have a 30% buffer of the calories they post on their menus? So something labeled as 500 calories could actually be as high at 650 calories!

Also I LOVE the Starbs egg white bites (the red pepper ones ) but to know exactly what’s going in them I made a video on my channel on how to make your OWN

  • Hello, I posted a question on the video you and your husband made last week, the fasting fails video. I ask the question about which weight loss program I should join. The freedom only or also the 21 day challenge?
No one has seen it as of yet and I am interested in starting soon.
    Thank you.

  • Hi all..
The 5:2 diet was recommended nearly 1400+ years ago…suggestion was to fast Monday n Thursday…The person is the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him..He did no study, no research, no labs, test tubes…
Look it up..don,t just take my word…

  • This looks great but where are the flaxseeds for the omega-3? Sunflower seeds, walnuts, avocado are all omega-6. So you have to balance it out with more omega-3’s.

  • I really appreciate this video because I believe that sometimes there’s a stigma around eating healthy and that you can never have fast food!

  • This recipe is 500 calorie I was thinking this may be 250 calorie even my fitness pal apps show 250 calories for such salad recipe. I love the recipe will make tomorrow this salad

  • Just started the fast 800 we don’t follow it as strictly we start eating at 12 pm and finish at 8pm I started Monday today is Thursday and I’ve already lost 4lbs

  • My salad comes out at around 1800 calories on OMAD. I make around 7-10 cups and it’s an excellent way to balance my macros. It’s the meal I enjoy the most, this is just one example

    Romaine Lettuce
    Bell Peppers
    Hard Boiled Eggs
    Chicken or Fish
    Red Onion
    Olive Oil
    Black Pepper
    Himalayan Sea Salt

  • Hello Dr Gillaspy, I don’t have a gal bladder, and everytime I try to take oil with my salad, it sends me straight to the bathroom. The same with MCT oil. Do you think I should stay away from these oils?

  • I think that thumb down button should be moved far away from that thumb up! Who in a right state of mind would thumb down this awesome video clearly they meant to thumb up but that thumb down is so close! Love all your videos ✌

  • Thank you for this video…would love to see more like this. Also, as a suggestion, could you maybe consider doing an occasional What I Eat in a Day videos along with the type of exercise you may incorporate in your day to go along with those meals…I would really enjoy that!! Thanks for all you do, it’s very helpful ❤

  • Chef AJ is so amazing and passionate about helping us understand weight loss. I really enjoy making recipes from her cookbook. Thank you for all teachings.

  • We tried this salad today, fabulous. Cindy added grilled chicken and I added sardines and it’s packaging olive oil. Our salad dressing was John The Greeks. Yum

  • Hi Sam. You are so gorgeous and love your videos! This is Mia from Teddy Blake Designer Handbags and we would love to team up with you. Connect with us through our Instagram account. Our username is @teddy_blake. Hope to hear back! XO

  • I decided on CARNIVORE cuz’ I have a problem with sweets of any sort..just one bite sends me in a painful tailspin of binges..I’m under weight now and would like to enjoy a candy.cookie or any keto sweets..help?

  • Sounds like Jarod needs to floss more often should be at least twice a day and make sure you get under the gums on every side of the tooth, that’s where the bad bacteria live

  • Alternate Day Fasting IS NOT A DIET. This is done for health reasons. Lowering insulin resistance for instance.
True Alt. Day Fasting is eating nothing on fast day.
Modified Alt. Day Fasting is eating up to 600 calories after fasting part of the day. Not as effective.

  • Yeah this guy is nonsense. The point of ADF is NOT to have ANY calories between NOT 500 calories im order to get into deep ketosis AND autophogy.

  • I don’t know if really enjoyed the choices in this vide for a low calorie fast food
options. I think these are commercialized fast food places, and you could have chosen more healthier options from them at least. I do understand your choices because of your vegetarian approach.
I love your videos though!!! This is just a flop one for me.:(
Definitely not worth giving a thumbs down. Just some feedback! I would have liked to seen Chik-fil-a, In-N-Out, any sandwich place, chipotle (vegetarian options), Panera bread.:)

  • My go to “healthy fast food” is the southwestern grilled chicken salad from McDonald’s!! It’s only 450 calories! And it’s pretty large so that’s like my whole dinner

  • Great recipe. No meat. Good ingredients. Maybe could avoid that much plastic. Thank you for also showing recipes consisting all your diet philosophy perfectly.

  • Like someone said earlier, taco bell has the fresco stuff, so if I go there I always do the soft chicken taco fresco style and I think its about 150 calories! And then McDonalds grilled artisan chicken sandwich is pretty good too and is about 350

  • Cute video. I cannot remember the last time I was in a fast food restaurant. I get stomach pains just looking at the places when I drive by. LOL.

  • I’m so surprised at starbucks you didn’t show the oatmeal! I usually order 2 of those for myself and get the maple brown sugae topping, plus two bananas for a decent meal. but even 2 of the oatmeals plus the toppings fits into this video title and is waayyy healthier than those bites!!

and i’m sure you’ve heard the potato is the most satisfying of all foodsWendy’s has a baked potato and you could order a couple of those with ketchup and steamed broccoli for a healthy option too!

  • IN N OUT!!!! i dont eat meat either and i always get a grilled cheese from there which is basically their burger but without the meat!!! try it:)

  • Listening to how you said AJ that even an ounce of nuts a day stalled your weight loss makes me think about all the recent info coming out about the complexity and impact of our gut microflora, some aspects of which are genetic and for sure related to the circumstances of our birth, lifetime trauma, etc, and how people prone to obesity absolutely have different gut flora. Also, how plant foods give us and feed the gut bacteria that promote leanness and reduce inflammation. Could be that you, and others, have an adverse result in the gut from nuts. And could be true for oils. Dr. Will Bulsiewicz’s new book “Fiber Fueled” covers this. He would be a great guest on your podcast.

  • Dr Becky, what is you take on the Beef and butter IF diet? Thank you for this lovely video, I love salads and do try to have it daily.

  • I loved this video!! Also i heard the fish fillet is the worst thing you can order because of all the chemicals they use to keep the fish “fresh”. Dont know if its true but it creeps me out

  • Sam taco bell has a fresco menu with low cal options girl and your videos are wonderful and enjoyable to watch honestly girl .

  • I liked the 5:2. I did it for 8 months back in 2013 and lost about 40 pounds. I’ve kept that weight off ever since, as it seemed to somehow re-set my eating. I think the 5:2 is more do-able than 800 a day.

  • Whenever I eat avacados I get the worse stomach cramping. Any ideas why? Also, where can I find the avacdo oil and salad dressing?

  • if you get the 7 layer burrito at taco bell and make it vegan its only 370 calories even with guac other than having a decent amount of sodium its actually not that bad for you:)

  • I’m the weirdo that likes more toppings on my sandwiches than bread, so I always take one half of the bun off. And not even to make it healthier! Lol! Loving the different type of video today!

  • Hi Dr. Becky. I am doing a reduced carb and higher fat program. I am allergic to nuts (almonds walnuts pecans hazelnuts) but a, OK with seeds including peanuts. What can I do to get another version of high fat that is good quality in my foods?

  • Ever time I come to the US I need me some Taco Bell I legit go out of my way.. there’s one for 380 with black beans.. soooo gooood… unless it’s now 430 ‍♀️

  • Watching this while fasting and i could literally eat that salad on my Ipad that looks soooooooo delish
Have a great day my friend ✌

  • Do you need to reverse most of your insulin resistance and lose weight before the benefit of Intermittent Fasting makes your set point lower? I’ve actually tried IF and low carb for like 3 1/2 months when I was almost obese and I didn’t lose a single pound.

  • I’ve never had a fish fillet from McDs for years! It was always my go to if we went there with friends. I wouldn’t bother with Taco Bell lol that was pitiful

  • With real adf the weight melts off SUPER fast and it’s awesome, I eat one awesome breakfast every other day and I’m loving it, fasting has changed my life 55 pounds and counting!!
