Drink water, black coffee, tea, or diet soda. None, although the website does give a tip that walking 30 minutes a day will increase your weight loss. However, it also notes that you may feel dizzy, or too weak to exercise. Pros of the Military Diet.
The diet lasts only three days, so you don’t feel deprived very long. Does The Military Diet Actually Work? In my opinion, yes.
Seriously, none of this is rocket science. You’re essentially starving yourself for 3 days. The meals I was eating was basically there to keep my body from shriveling up into an life size skeletal chart.

day 1: i started by eating the normal breakfast after i did a workout i felt a little hungry from changing my eating pattern. overall i felt okay and more clean: haven’t lost anything yet. (tip; drink hella water)
Why do people do this diet?! You’re hungry and tired and for what? A few pounds?! I eat all plant based foods, I weighed myself the night before and the next morning I lost 2 lbs, went to the bathroom and lost 1 lb. and guess what, I’m not hungry or tired!

This really does work. It’s not always the easiest and takes time to get use to. Almost like coming down from an addiction. But it does work. You stick to it. Push. It becomes the norm and you want it no other way. I did this going through marine corps training. First few weeks I felt week. Then with the right push exercise and new balance. It was like coming out new.
I like this diet but can’t drink black coffee, so that ice cream you get at the end of the day.. Put it in a 1c measuring cup, cut that in half and use it as the sugar and cream for your coffee.. Works like a charm and still lost the weight. YOU’RE WELCOME!

The only diet that works is CICO (calories in calories out) just count your calories and as long as you are under you’ll lose weight (unless you have a health condition of course)

I did this back in the 90’s when I was thin and would gain 5-10 pounds and would lose it with this. I just did it and lost 4, but I have been doing 1200-1500 calories a day any way so I didn’t expect a huge loss. I am planning on doing it again on Sunday. It isn’t terrible

I like that you start with a disclaimer before you delve in. You recognize that performance wise it is not the best to lose so much weight in such a short time, but understand the goals of those who watch this video. Awesome vid, subscribed!
our anscestors went through times of very very low calories. think about how people survived in Scandinavia during the winterthrough stored fats and eating twigs and pine needles an occasional fish. I’m biased towards that example because most of my ancestors are from around the Baltic.
For the most part he is spot on. Everyones body responds differently but the majority of people could eat 980 calories of mcdonalds spaced out over 3 meals and lose about the same amount of weight(maybe a lil less) that would not be healthy! People love to overcomplicate things when it comes to weight loss. He points out some of that nonsense in this video. I do think that he should mention coffee has been shown to speed up metabolism and can curb your appetite. Most people become immune to the effects but if a non coffee drinker follows this diet they should notice their appetite is curbed just based on introducing caffeine. Ive put a few clients on a very similar diet tues-thurs-sat with successful results. Mon wed and friday (training days) I have them eat a relatively high protein and carb diet, and have them eat whatever they want sunday.
cardio and limit ur calories to 800 a day… lift weight so as not to lose too much muscle mass.. yes u will feel hunger but after a while ur body adapts then once u get to ur desired weight try to incorporate a cheat day….

Been in the Marine Corps for 14 years. This is not a military diet. The military doesn’t make you eat anything you don’t want. You have options to eat whatever you want.
I also really didn’t get why they gave ice cream everyday….if they’re trying to keep calories to low, why waste the calories indulding during the 3 days at all. Might as well have Greek yogurt as the dessert

OK, so, I tried this miltary diet out and in three days, I lost seven lbs. all I did was not snack on anything at all, drink five+ bottles of water a day and do 30 minutes of intense workouts. I made sure I didn’t eat anything six hours before I went to bed. I know there are alot of consequences on this diet but I did it anyway. I didn’t feel tired or hungry, in fact, I felt great. that was just the first time I did it, I have now completed it eight times and lost over 55lbs. I went from weighing over 200lbs to now weighing 143lbs. I’m thinking of stopping this diet now but I’m going to keep up the good habits such as drinking alooolt of water, no snacking, small meals, intense exercise and no eating before bed. I’m not really sure of the age requirements for this diet but I’m 15 and did it anyway and I’m super happy with the results

I’m on my third round of this diet and I have not cheated at all. First time, I lost 6 pounds and gained 3 back before I started again (238 lbs to 235 lbs). Second time I lost 7 pounds and gained 2 back (235 lbs to 230 lbs.) I’m currently on day two of my third time. But so far, I think 8 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty good. Just can’t go crazy with food once the 3 days are over.

Used this 3 Day Military Diet years ago. Loved it! Lost 30 lbs in a month Fixing to do this again. Back then, I had the small book. It told substitutes, like half a cantelope instead of the apple, etc. I used the book by John Salzar.
So I have read all of the comments and I am in the Military. Let me tell you, I have seen some individuals that I currently serve with who have done the Military Diet or a variation of it (some more extreme some less) in order to meet their specific body weight and body fat composition goals outlined in Army Regulation 600-9. Not only do they put their bodies through this “Crash” diet in order to make the weight but then soon after they take a fairly rigorous Army Physical Fitness Test. It’s really sad to see what these Soldiers are doing to themselves.
A lot of people do this diet wrong if you doing this diet for 3 days and then you go back to eating whatever you want then yeah you’re going to gain weight back what you’re supposed to do is you’re supposed to do this diet and then go on a normal diet we’re the calories are still low enough to we’re you lose weight then build up to matenence

It would be a shame for you not to shed body fat when other normal people are capable to lose weight quickly with Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine).
The military diet doesn’t last only 3 days. The “Up to 10 pounds” is for the entire week. You follow the diet the first 3 days and then you eat less than 1500 calories on days 4-7. Don’t do the final weigh in until after the 7th day.
The diet seems top heavy to me. I prefer to eat the larger meal at breakfast to work it off during the day and the smaller meal for dinner where theres less activities.
Another way to lose weight it’s a little slow but you lose weight at a decent speed. What you want to do is eat foods that are low carb I do t recommend anything above 12 grams of carbs depending on the serving size if the serving size is big I recommend you eat 1/3 of the serving size but if the serving size is low and a high amount of carbs don’t eat it
I have done it three times, lost about 5 pounds twice, then about 3 1/2 the third time. I feel very tired and grumpy on this diet, but love the fact I loss so much in three days.

No doubt, it is high protein/low carb/low calories. I have known people to lose up 10lbs on this diet. But, as you mentioned, one must remain disciplined thereafter. i hate cottage cheese so i looked up the equivalence for one cup of cottage cheese and i can eat three eggs instead is that fine to do? same with the saltine crackers and cheese i was just going to replace that with one piece of wheat bread.:) and also, did you lose stomach fat? i’m trying to tone up my stomach and i feel like this would help!
Today is my 2nd day but I didnt use any extra on the egg I just boiled and ate it the meat I had a frank qnd I actaully elimated the icecream from the diet and drank black jasmine tea and this morning I lost 2 lbs already
If you want to do this continuously, then do the diet for 3 days, and then take a day or two to rest then you can start again. This diet is actually very helpful to lose weight but it doesnt contain many calories and you need a lot of calories to be able to get through the day. So make sure to take a break after the 3 days.

And the reason how this diet works is you pretty much eat up to 900-1000 calories within those 3 days and it’s very bad to eat that little your pretty much starving your self your loosing fat but also losing muscle so if you don’t care about muscle then be free and go for the diet but if you want the best results then I suggest doing everything as it is and don’t add any other snacks or seasoning that will ruin it if you don’t like tuna then you could grill it up season it with pepper and a lily toe but of salt but that’s it.
Nice video girly I have also tried this diet before for 3 days & ended up losing 6 pounds, but I did skip the ice cream and I did drink black coffee(no sweetner no nothing) every breakfast, and the green tea during lunch, and dinner. drinking those 2 things is a must. because Black coffee itself help boost your metabolism and helps burn fat in your body faster. And green tea has a lot of the same benefits. Drinking water is healthy but is doesn’t have the same benefits as green tea and black coffee. So just a suggestion if you try this diet again. The reason why he lost 9 was because he followed everything as it was she changed it she put lime on her tuna and she put onions and mustard and just changed kind of every meal so she lost very little

This really does work. It’s not always the easiest and takes time to get use to. Almost like coming down from an addiction. But it does work. You stick to it. Push. It becomes the norm and you want it no other way. I did this going through marine corps training. First few weeks I felt week. Then with the right push exercise and new balance. It was like coming out new.
I like this diet but can’t drink black coffee, so that ice cream you get at the end of the day.. Put it in a 1c measuring cup, cut that in half and use it as the sugar and cream for your coffee.. Works like a charm and still lost the weight. YOU’RE WELCOME!

The only diet that works is CICO (calories in calories out) just count your calories and as long as you are under you’ll lose weight (unless you have a health condition of course)
So with hight and weight testing withen 5 days my joes and I will do the mil diet inorder to pass and not get flagged. All the army cares about is pass or fail

I did this back in the 90’s when I was thin and would gain 5-10 pounds and would lose it with this. I just did it and lost 4, but I have been doing 1200-1500 calories a day any way so I didn’t expect a huge loss. I am planning on doing it again on Sunday. It isn’t terrible
For wrestlers or athletes that are required to be on a specific weight class I don’t suggest the Military Diet. It’ll literally ruin your performance.

our anscestors went through times of very very low calories. think about how people survived in Scandinavia during the winterthrough stored fats and eating twigs and pine needles an occasional fish. I’m biased towards that example because most of my ancestors are from around the Baltic.
For the most part he is spot on. Everyones body responds differently but the majority of people could eat 980 calories of mcdonalds spaced out over 3 meals and lose about the same amount of weight(maybe a lil less)
that would not be healthy! People love to overcomplicate things when it comes to weight loss. He points out some of that nonsense in this video. I do think that he should mention coffee has been shown to speed up metabolism and can curb your appetite. Most people become immune to the effects but if a non coffee drinker follows this diet they should notice their appetite is curbed just based on introducing caffeine. Ive put a few clients on a very similar diet tues-thurs-sat with successful results. Mon wed and friday (training days) I have them eat a relatively high protein and carb diet, and have them eat whatever they want sunday.
I’ve been doing this diet but also I’ve been drinking over a gallon of water a day and doing cardio and boxing I think I’ll lose weight maybe idk.
cardio and limit ur calories to 800 a day… lift weight so as not to lose too much muscle mass.. yes u will feel hunger but after a while ur body adapts then once u get to ur desired weight try to incorporate a cheat day….

Been in the Marine Corps for 14 years. This is not a military diet. The military doesn’t make you eat anything you don’t want. You have options to eat whatever you want.

I’m on day 5. But after the 3 day diet, l lost 6lbs. loved the food. felt good. feeling even better as l go along. Now following the 4 day off plan. Great food. super healthy. And lots more than one is allowed on the 3 day part of this diet.

OK, so, I tried this miltary diet out and in three days, I lost seven lbs. all I did was not snack on anything at all, drink five+ bottles of water a day and do 30 minutes of intense workouts. I made sure I didn’t eat anything six hours before I went to bed. I know there are alot of consequences on this diet but I did it anyway. I didn’t feel tired or hungry, in fact, I felt great. that was just the first time I did it, I have now completed it eight times and lost over 55lbs. I went from weighing over 200lbs to now weighing 143lbs. I’m thinking of stopping this diet now but I’m going to keep up the good habits such as drinking alooolt of water, no snacking, small meals, intense exercise and no eating before bed.
I’m not really sure of the age requirements for this diet but I’m 15 and did it anyway and I’m super happy with the results
Thumbs down for title. As a vet, I can attest that the American military eats a diet that reflects ALL of America. There is no “military diet.” That includes the US Marine Corps. Usually when we see “military” this or that, its posted by someone who has NEVER been in the military.

I’m on my third round of this diet and I have not cheated at all. First time, I lost 6 pounds and gained 3 back before I started again (238 lbs to 235 lbs). Second time I lost 7 pounds and gained 2 back (235 lbs to 230 lbs.) I’m currently on day two of my third time. But so far, I think 8 pounds in 2 weeks is pretty good. Just can’t go crazy with food once the 3 days are over.

Used this 3 Day Military Diet years ago. Loved it! Lost 30 lbs in a month Fixing to do this again. Back then, I had the small book. It told substitutes, like half a cantelope instead of the apple, etc. I used the book by John Salzar.
So I have read all of the comments and I am in the Military. Let me tell you, I have seen some individuals that I currently serve with who have done the Military Diet or a variation of it (some more extreme some less) in order to meet their specific body weight and body fat composition goals outlined in Army Regulation 600-9. Not only do they put their bodies through this “Crash” diet in order to make the weight but then soon after they take a fairly rigorous Army Physical Fitness Test. It’s really sad to see what these Soldiers are doing to themselves.
A lot of people do this diet wrong if you doing this diet for 3 days and then you go back to eating whatever you want then yeah you’re going to gain weight back what you’re supposed to do is you’re supposed to do this diet and then go on a normal diet we’re the calories are still low enough to we’re you lose weight then build up to matenence

You’re meant to exercise as well the idea is to curve your appetite so when u go to eating regular food you don’t eat as much in the military they exercise like crazy just a side note

If you read up on the diet, it’s actually a 1 week diet. The 3-day military diet is actually split into 2 phases over a 7-day period. Total calorie intake during this phase is roughly 1,100–1,400 calories per day. For the remaining 4 days of the week, you are encouraged to eat healthy and continue to keep your calorie intake low. For the rest of the 4 days snacks are permitted and there are no food group restrictions. However, you are encouraged to limit portion sizes and keep total calorie intake under 1,500 per day.

The diet info starts at 4:11. I’ve done this diet twice and it works. The first one, I lost 5 lb; After three weeks I tried again, and lost 9 lb. I could not see much physical difference but I was inspired not to backslide. So I went onto a low carb, low calorie diet and so far I’ve gone from 174 lb to 159 lb. Combine daily walking for 60 min. My target is 150 lb.

900 kalories a day. That makes a deficit of around 1500 kalories per day or 4500 per 3 days. Thats a around 1.5 lbs weightloss. 7k kalories per pound estimated
Tips for picky people:
Day.1
Breakfast: 1 apple in slices whole wheat or sourbread with ham and cucumber on drink: water or cucumber water.
Lunch: an carrot ( or nothing )
Dinner: tuna salad or just a plain salad ( no sauce, salad, cucumber, tomato, corn and paprika.
Day.2
Breakfast: an half apple and a banana cut up. ( put the rest of the banana and apple in a freezer )
Lunch: baby carrots or half a cup of peas:)
Dinner: salad and ham sandwich
Day.3
Breakfast: take the frozen fruits from yesterday and make a smoothie with ice cubes and some cucumber water.
Lunch: carrots
Dinner: avocado salad
I did this for 1 week and lost 16,4 lbs!

It would be a shame for you not to shed body fat when other normal people are capable to lose weight quickly with Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine).
The military diet doesn’t last only 3 days. The “Up to 10 pounds” is for the entire week. You follow the diet the first 3 days and then you eat less than 1500 calories on days 4-7. Don’t do the final weigh in until after the 7th day.
The diet seems top heavy to me. I prefer to eat the larger meal at breakfast to work it off during the day and the smaller meal for dinner where theres less activities.
Another way to lose weight it’s a little slow but you lose weight at a decent speed. What you want to do is eat foods that are low carb I do t recommend anything above 12 grams of carbs depending on the serving size if the serving size is big I recommend you eat 1/3 of the serving size but if the serving size is low and a high amount of carbs don’t eat it
The more u weigh..you will lose more. Ur weight for start is on the low side. The 3rd day is the hardest..i felt like i was starving…but it works

No doubt, it is high protein/low carb/low calories. I have known people to lose up 10lbs on this diet. But, as you mentioned, one must remain disciplined thereafter. i hate cottage cheese so i looked up the equivalence for one cup of cottage cheese and i can eat three eggs instead is that fine to do? same with the saltine crackers and cheese i was just going to replace that with one piece of wheat bread.:) and also, did you lose stomach fat? i’m trying to tone up my stomach and i feel like this would help!
Today is my 2nd day but I didnt use any extra on the egg I just boiled and ate it the meat I had a frank qnd I actaully elimated the icecream from the diet and drank black jasmine tea and this morning I lost 2 lbs already
If you want to do this continuously, then do the diet for 3 days, and then take a day or two to rest then you can start again. This diet is actually very helpful to lose weight but it doesnt contain many calories and you need a lot of calories to be able to get through the day. So make sure to take a break after the 3 days.

And the reason how this diet works is you pretty much eat up to 900-1000 calories within those 3 days and it’s very bad to eat that little your pretty much starving your self your loosing fat but also losing muscle so if you don’t care about muscle then be free and go for the diet but if you want the best results then I suggest doing everything as it is and don’t add any other snacks or seasoning that will ruin it if you don’t like tuna then you could grill it up season it with pepper and a lily toe but of salt but that’s it.
Meal plan:
DAY 1:
B: coffee or tea, slice of toast, 2tbsp PB, 1/2 grapefruit
L: coffee or tea, slice of toast, 1/2cp tuna
D: 85g meat, 1cp green beans, 1/2 banana, small apple, 1cp vanilla ice cream
DAY 2:
B: toast, 1 boiled egg, 1/2 banana
L: 1 boiled egg, 5 saltine crackers, 1cp cottage cheese
D: 2 hot dogs (no bun or condiments), 1/2cp carrots, 1cp broccoli, 1/2 banana, 1/2cp vanilla IC
DAY 3:
B: 5 saltine crackers, 1 cheddar cheese slice, small apple
L: whole grain toast, 1 boiled egg
D: 1cp tuna, 1/2 banana, 1cp vanilla ice cream

Nice video girly I have also tried this diet before for 3 days & ended up losing 6 pounds, but I did skip the ice cream and I did drink black coffee(no sweetner no nothing) every breakfast, and the green tea during lunch, and dinner. drinking those 2 things is a must. because Black coffee itself help boost your metabolism and helps burn fat in your body faster. And green tea has a lot of the same benefits. Drinking water is healthy but is doesn’t have the same benefits as green tea and black coffee. So just a suggestion if you try this diet again. I’m going to try it again and this time im going to try and film it and see how it goes.
