  • 8.21.20… born in ’72 this song still grabs me by the throat change begins w myself I look forward to a better USA that has had it’s @$$ handed to itself w Covid ashamed for our feeble leadership foisted onto us via Republicans marching off to their graves bc they politicized wearing a DAMN MASK!! WTF!!! ‍♂️✌️‍♂️… so embarrassing!

We HAD to have our noses rubbed in … hopefully we’ll become a better nation moving forward STOP putting Public Health on back burner…

RIP to the Covid dead worldwide an epic failure in obviously craptastic “leadership” total dog … ‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️

  • It’s… so weird to see how people used to use and talk in comments section 6-8 years ago.
Like jesus christ; I can’t even tell if some of these were supposed to be jokes or what.

But this song is fucking amazing still to this day, so-

  • This one has several legs up on The Wall (the movie), in my opinion. One for being an interesting look at the 60’s, another for being comprehensible.
This is coming from a diehard Pink Floyd fan, by the way. The Wall as an album is phenomenal. As a movie… well it’s still good, but there’s definitely better musicals.

  • You say you want a revolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
    Well, you know
We all want to change the world
But when you talk about destruction
Don’t you know that you can count me out
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you got a real solution
    Well, you know
We’d all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
    Well, you know
    We’re doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
You say you’ll change the constitution
    Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
    Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
    All right, all right

  • Hey Democrats! “If you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao, you ain’t gonna make with anyone anyhow! And if you want money for people with minds that HATE, all I can tell you brother is you have to wait!

  • I would think the first seven seconds certainly seems to have had an influence, based on the interpretations I’ve heard…the whole song quite memorable, to be sure, for so many reasons even to this day…

  • @ZackTheKack 51 guys. Well, no… more like 54. lol. Either that or my school had four of those fifty.._; Crap, we make up 1/10th of all guys, then.

  • These guys at this time in their lives are Stars, world renown, worshiped by many. Making more money than they actually knew existed unless their financial advisors sat them down and pointed it out to them! So to ask What the heck went wrong? Yes I know the speculation is out there and I would like to know the real reason!

  • awesome lyric video. sjared this on facebook today. its so appropriate. i am so done with you know who. he mortifies me and the world constantly. the past 24 hours are just…. there are no words. we all need reassurance that we will be alright. thanks. awesome typographical ballet of truth. revolution startd with you and i. whether its sharing a video, protesting, explaining our personal values to our children, standing up for those in the crosshairs when it is in your presence, going to rallies, donating to causes that make positive changes, protesting or running for office. little things we do matter. each step toward our trith as human beings is a revolution. speak up and tell your truth, be brave, even if your voice shakes, speak your authentic truth. peaceful revolution.

  • 1:18 WTF? Why portray Yoko so negatively???? Bad move, my friend. Because of that one image, I am unable to share this with consciousness. Fix it please. One split-second image can communicate the totally wrong message, deleting all the power of your overall loving tribute. Peace out.

  • The only thing anyone wants to talk about here is politics or how they don’t like politics but can we just all appreciate how nice the lyrics look in this video

  • I love how the leftists, liberals, democrats, communists, socialists. Love this song, yet can’t even understand the lyrics enough to see it’s 100% against everything they believe in

  • At 3.26 or so George is actually grinning toward Paul and looks to be happy! Am I reading too much into George’s grin/happy look?>

  • Protestors: Systemic Racism!!!!
John: You tell me it’s the institution,
    Well, you know
You better free you mind instead.

    Thank you genius John.

  • Just wondering why you have Joe Anderson in the title of this video? He doesnt have a part in this song, does he?

But wow, does Jim sound sexy.

  • The Beatles are really good! For anyone interested in Beatles covers I recommend this very good Brazilian band called silent compass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12Rbdkll0Ys

  • It’s funny how this song in my opinion make sence with the president now taking pictures with Putin Kim Jun un and whomever….. let’s just hope it’s going to be alright.. time for a revolution.

  • What a LOVELY song. This made the 3rd song in the top 100 of 1968:
    1) Hey Jude
    60) Lady Madonna
    78) Revolution

ONE thing I’d noticed about this song: it’s got lyrics printed in BOTH English and Spanish

  • I’m probably one of like fifty guys in history that likes musicals… And I have to admit, I love the way they redid the Beatles’ songs. They’re great. Thanks for the vid. It’s awesome.

  • John: i want to scream.
Paul: ok, but not too loud, or you will make everyone deaf. i will do it live.
    John: ok.
(Later)John at start of song: AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Paul: uh
George after song: John: OMG, what is wrong with his use of the mic?!
    Paul at live: AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
George: (thinking Paul’s better at screaming while being quiet)
Me: oh, i will be deaf if i put it full volume on hEaDpHoNeS!

  • This is pretty much my take on today’s events. I’m all for showing my support for the black community and attending a peaceful protest, but as soon as things turn violent, I’m out.

  • Has to be one of my fav songs of all time. Remember hearing it for the first time on the radio with my dad. I was only 6 but this song has probably influenced me beyond all others.

  • Listening in the spring of 2020 in the US of A. We got nationwide rioting, a pandemic, hornets with teardrop tattoos on their faces murdering other bees. This year is lit! What’s next?

  • I hate how many people actually interpret this as a progressive song. It’s fucking hillarious, the ideology displayed here is clearly libertarian or conservative. And it doesn’t have to do with what ideology you have, just dont turn this into what you think, so lame.

  • First time I’ve ever heard this song with the guitars mixed and separated properly. You can hear John’s and George’s guitars individually. Love it!

  • Beatles fun fact at:06 Paul McCartney screams. During the recording session, Paul always liked to walk around barefoot until that day, when he went to plug into the phone jack, there was a short in the wire and received an electrical jolt. The tape reels continued recording, Pauls scream in agony was left in the original recording….

  • Just remember it is our country, and well us or them….I think you can guess who they are, I think live in washing dc. That’s just a guess.

  • I would first, walk into a Republican hangout, and throw their stuff around singing “Have you seen the little piggies, living piggy lives, you will find them out to dinner, with their piggy wives, clutching forks and knives, to EAT THE BACON!”

  • Dude Jude…he is just the most gorgeous man though. It’s kind of awkward because my dad’s best friend’s name is Jude, but whatever you know? That’s not his real name anyway… but god. <3 <3 <3 <3

  • Fantastic. I was in London a few months after it was released there 50 years ago this year. It was so hard to grasp what the song meant then except in s superficial way. Now with your work I can see how deeply thought provoking it was and still is. Thank you

  • Love this video. May I upload it directly to facebook or could you? Getting attention to shared videos from youtube is tough since they don’t play directly on the timeline

  • Waouh!! I didn’t know this song, I just discovered it and.. WHAT A PERFECT SONG!! The lyrics, the guitar: Everything is so harmonized together. This song have more than 50 years and she’s more than actual tho

  • Why isn’t Gal Gadot, & Johnny Depp, & the Hollywierd elite singing this over the riots, & the rising of the sovereign nation of “Chazz,”????? Ass-holes!!!!

  • Why different than the actual version? I had this album as a kid and I could never found out why they changed it to a radio friendlier version and of so why? The album version is sexy af.

  • La bata suena aún más potente que en el Past Masters II que tengo yo. Suena muuy bien. Ah, la cara de Yoko 1:16 me rebalsó.. da ganas de expulsarla del gremio por mal representar a las mujeres.

  • Honestly I don’t agree with this songdestruction is pretty great:-)
Sometimes it’s exactly what we need to overpower corrupt systems.

  • Funny how history repeats itself. When I first heard this song as a kid, times were like they are now: “f” the establishment; “f” the cops; don’t trust anyone over 30; calls for a violent, destructive revolution. I was shocked by what Lennon presented in his lyrics: a call for PEACEFUL social change, not through violent tactics. A lot of the New Left felt betrayed and hated him for writing this song. As a kid, I thought this song was pretty gutsy. It worked out for him. Lots of people know John Lennon; can’t say the same for those who promoted violent destruction.

  • A song that, for this old dude, captures more than words or emotion can speak to. One timeless classic, words of prophecy from another Liverpool cast out.

  • I cant believe people who have remastered so many beatles songs, have made them so limp. Nothing like the originals, which had drive

  • My all-time favorite song from “The Beatles”. The way I see rock and roll in whatever genre, especially Christian music rock and roll is a unbloody revolution, then, now & forever. This to me is my answer to being “quarantined”, on “lock down” & told to wash my hands and cover my mouth when I sneeze or cough. The media or recordings playing over and over, day after day, every 15 minutes, training us like a bunch of lab rats, 5th graders or even spineless “yes” people or men, especially when people look at me like I’m some crazy person, when the truth is that I’m a quiet, little, lonely person who is in love with a special lady friend who’s far away from me, 1,000 miles to be exact and I can’t even see or talk to her, let alone know how much I truly and fully love her and I want to be with her.

  • a MONO Beatles song, tthat’s all we get as millions of loyal Beatles fans in al these years, what a low harted scrooges
wow, what a bunch of skimpy bulk bag fillers on this channel
all Beatles uploads by loyal fans are blocked world wide, and this is what we get in return

  • The quality of the original was dreadful in my opinion, I’m not normally a fan of digital remastering but this goes some way towards improving it; I think they did the best they could.

  • AAAAGGGHHHH!
    아 아!

You say you want a revolution,
    혁명을 일으키고 싶다고
    Well, you know,
    그래, 당신도 알거야
We all want to change the world.
우리 모두가 세상을 바꿔 보고 싶어 한다는 걸
You tell me that it’s evolution,
    당신은 그 것을 진보라고 말하네
    Well, you know,
    그래, 당신도 알거야
We all want to change the world.
우리 모두가 세상을 바꿔 보고 싶어 한다는 걸
But when you talk about destruction,
    하지만 파괴에 대해 말한다면
Don’t you know you can count me out?
    정말 난 그 무리에 넣지 말아 줘

Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright,
    반드시 좋아질 거야
    Alright,
    괜찮아
    Alright.
    괜찮아

You say you got a real solution,
    해결책을 가지고 있다구
    Well, you know,
    그래 당신도 알거야
We’d all love to see the plan.
우리 모두는 그 계획을 알고 싶어 한다는 걸
You ask me for a contribution,
    당신은 내게 기부금을 요구하네
    Well, you know,
    그래, 당신은 알거야
We’re all doing what we can.
    우리가 할 수 있는 것은 다 하겠어
    But if you want money
하지만 증오심을 품고 있는 사람들을 위한
For people with minds that hate,
    돈을 원한다면
All I can tell you is,
당신에게 말할 수 있는 건 이뿐이야
    “Brother, you have to wait.”
    “이봐, 좀 기다려 봐”

Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright,
    반드시 좋아질 거야
    Alright,
    괜찮아
    Alright.
    괜찮아
    Ah-

You say you’ll change the constitution,
    헌법을 바꾸겠다고
    Well, you know,
    그래, 당신은 알거야
We all want to change your head.
우리 모두가 머리를 바꾸고 싶어 한다는 걸
You tell me it’s the institution,
    당신은 그 것을 제도라고 말하지
    Well, you know,
    그래, 당신은 알거야
You better free your mind instead.
그 대신에 자신의 마음을 해방시키는 게 좋을 거야
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao,
하지만 당신이 모택동 주석의 사진을 갖고 다닌다면
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow.
더 이상 어느 누구와도 혁명 따윈 할 수 없을 거야

Don’t you know it’s gonna be alright,
    반드시 좋아질 거야
    Alright,
    괜찮아
    Alright.
    괜찮아

    Alright, alright, alright,
    괜찮아
    Alright, alright, alright,
    괜찮아
    Alright, alright.
    괜찮아

The “slow” version was requested for play on a radio station

  • This songs got such good vibes. Makes me feel like I could run away without looking back. Get out of my shitty life and start anew.

  • written 50 years ago but is so relevant today. “but when you talk about destruction don’t you know you can count me out” i don’t think i have ever related to something so much.

  • “But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao” (I guess it includes Marx, Lenin, Hitler too)
The song about Liberals and leftist huh?

  • @ZackTheKack I like this cover too, but I wish they would’ve done the whole song though. This and Sweeney Todd are my favorite musicals. Have you seen RENT? If not, it’s really cool and I’m not usually into musicals except for Sweeney Todd and Across The Universe.:D

  • But if you want money for people with minds that hate, all i can tell you brother you will have to wait!.Relevant in todays World more than when it was recorded.

  • @gabbybut of course, if you block out the scene where Rachel Wood is topless.. and are willing to explain the drug references to a child.

  • Idk if it’s me but the first time I saw the video for Revolution was back in like 2008 & it didn’t look like this. For starters Paul’s scream at the beginning was very different & louder…idk if this is the one VEVO wanted everyone to see & they deleted all other takes that were on YouTube during the time.

All right, all right, all right
You say you’ll change the constitution
    Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
    Well, you know
You better free you mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow
Don’t you know it’s gonna be
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
All right, all right, all right
    All right, all right

  • The she-be-do-by chorus in the middle of the song really dumbs the song down. Love John Lennon (great vocals and lyrics) in this and the initial scream by Paul. Please no she-be-do-by, this was an earnest political hard-hitting song for its time

  • Even 44 years after hearing this for the first time it STILL makes me say “FUCK!!!! THAT IS FUCKING ROCK AND ROLL!!!!” out loud!!… and I’m in a library….. Rock and roll don’t give a fuck!

  • My all-time favorite song from “The Beatles”. The way I see rock and roll in whatever genre, especially Christian genre rock and roll is a unbloody revolution, then, now & forever.

  • Every time I hear this I think of 4th grade, when my teacher played this song to start out our Revolutionary War topic. I just remembered how excited I was that my teacher played a song by my favorite band.

  • He says E-volution
    Instead of Ev-olution..
But he says REV-olution instead of Re-volution..

I kind of bugs me because it’s supposed to rhyme.

  • thanks for this:) I’m writing about this song for my class and this is much better than trying to read along with the lyrics while listening! so well made.

  • This song is synonymous with the Kent State Festival! Everyone having fun, dancing, gunshots ringing out every 10 minutes or more… what fun!

  • The lyrics in this song are so poignant today. If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao you ain’t going to make it with anyone anyhow. F*** off socialism. F*** off so hard.

  • Coronavirus 2020! I’m 1/2 Native American and I hear you John! Your predictions have come true! They killed you but they can’t kill an idea! Everyone waiting for their government to save them! Welcome to the reservation cock suckers!

  • This Song:
Video version: The gitar doesn’t scream, but I don’t hear Lennon’s voice
Love version: The gitar screams, but the voice is in a good volume.
This version: now I don’t have my right ear

  • “” The song decades ahead of its time”……..it’s very hard to find…when you consider that many “protest songs of the 60’s and 70’s. do not apply to today’s reality…………….but this one does.make the point…….. even today……..Maybe this was the Beatles hidden way of saying that communism or even giving tax-money for “people with Minds that hate “. was not a good idea…this song was written at a time when China was a starving country after been under decades of communism under the “chairman Mao”..and things only began to change after
they “Open their minds”. to trade with the west…………and the “true-Revolution”. That was to come… after the chairman’s departure from this world…….

  • You say you want a revolution

    Well, you know

We all want to change the world

You tell me that it’s evolution

    Well, you know

We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction

Don’t you know that you can count me out

Don’t you know it’s gonna be

All right, all right, all right

You say you got a real solution

    Well, you know

We’d all love to see the plan

You ask me for a contribution

    Well, you know

    We’re doing what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate

  • The first time I heard this song I was coming onto LSD driving out of NYC thru the Bronx. Which looked like a war zone in those days.

  • I absolutely love this part of the movie. I’ve seen this movie over and over and constantly find something new. Of course, it helps having lived through this era. It was explosive and about as non-complacent as you can get. Unlike today’s generation.

  • When you realize “Revolution” was actually about pacifism and it preached against revolutionaries taking affirmative action and everyone misinterprets it

  • I Still can’t comprehend how big, revolutionary and epic the Beatles were to civilization and history. Easy to imagine that they will be relevant in the year 3020 in someway. I would give my left nut to be able to go back in time and live the life of John or Paul from their childhood before the band until like probably John’s murder.

  • Some people don’t realize how crazy it was for JOHN LENNON to write a song criticizing the New Left. Everyone was calling him a coward, traitor, and sell-out. This was 1968, protest movements today are nothing compared to the Vietnam protests. And he was hurt by the response, but continued even to his dying day to espouse principles of nonviolence. More people need to hear this song.

  • Love it… reminds me of whats happening in the politics of todays Presidential Administration. (No Trump pun intended), but if the cap fits, wear it. ☺

  • Money for minds that hate…
Like how my taxes pay for criminals shelter and food…. one bullet would solve that problem… but nooooo the death penalty is “wrong”

  • Holy moly a Militarist Senato of luxurious hell war culture and the one true plan seen in every Hitler Hollywood war culture film and most documentaries the label badge 2:39 1:51

  • oh no, trust me. there are plenty of guys who love this movie. they way in which they use the songs to progress the story line is pioneering. its not like grease when they just stop and start singing. the song is used to move the story along. absolutely genius.

  • This sums up how I feel about leftists and other Shitifa like filth.

I love this song and I really enjoy the video. I think it’s better tan the plain white lyrics against a blue or black background. Well done.

  • Wow just wow never saw this..George and Paul adding Beach Boys doo wop vocals, John scatting, the heavy metal guitars..WOW! John may have been the biggest douche on earth but man that cat could sing, perform, write songs, play guitar etc etc

  • So I commented and said
    If I lived in China,

This would be the ringtone on my phone: 2:36

    And someone replied and said
You would only be taking one call.

    Too Funny!

  • The Godly Adapters
    Who is Who?:
    The nostalgic traditionalist
    vying for a breakthrough
    conformist scholarship
    eyeing through a window
    Their historical dilemma
    cemented of gold
    selling it slowly
    to an earless road
    Aristo-cracy
    frozen in time
    like adaptations
    of swine
    Covered their books
    in black and new
    with patchworked puppets
    and devils askew
    And, who brings the system
    to its knees?
    And who drives progress?
    The Prince of Eves!
    The Glory of Satan
    every comical home
    to blow up their traditions!
    of diamonds unknown
    Immovable God-rock
    we’ll judge its flaws!
    alchemists have come
    devils of new laws!
    Waters of time
    to change values forever
    and an earlier mine
    and in hands so endeavored

Oh. In that case I will probably look it up for myself! The lyrics in this version are clear, but if there is another version (besides Revolution 9) I would like to hear it…
