  • Wow, this Lauer turd is so biased it hurts. This is such a puff piece interview, even as he asks the questions, he’s already declared her innocent so what’s the f-ing point?

  • I have mixed feelings about to.. like jokingly I would say well the heart drug hasn’t helped her beat Serena in 10+ yrs. so what are we talking about here, but I can’t someone saying she’s a cheater regardless if the drug was legal until 2016. I don’t know someone debate or discuss this… and no emotions involved.

  • Mildronate is a prescription only drug, licensed in the former USSR, the holder is Grindeks from Latvia. She said she took the drug for a certain heart condition. If that were true, Grindeks would be ranked above Novartis and Pfizer for having invented a medicine, allowing patients, suffering from heart diseases to play professional tennis.

  • I feel they should give her a punishment, but a very minor one. This clearly wasn’t intentional and clearly gave little performance benefit. Destroying someone’s career for something which was clearly a mistake seems silly.

  • Did you really say that Maria Sharapova is the best female tennis player for the last 11 years? I assume that you think that Serena is a male

  • I believe that was honest mistake. Hold on Maria, you will get trough this.If illegal substance is in bout drugs (Mildronate and Melatonin), WHY is not bout drugs on the ITF list????Its the fault of ITF, as much as Sharapova’s.

  • Marc did you have trouble holding back your laughter when training with Jerry Ward man what’s up with them barbell curls and people pay this clown to train them

  • My view is that I don’t think it is entirely her fault, yet I still think she needs to wear the consequences. An athlete like her surely has a team around her: a nutritionist, a tennis coach, and surely a supplement/drug expert. When she says she didn’t read the email of banned substances sent out, surely she, as a top 5 tennis player wouldn’t even consider wasting her time researching drugs and stuff when she could be out on the court hitting balls; she’s a tennis player, not a pharmacist. Someone else is at fault here I think.

  • Will be interesting to see what happens when people start using nanotech and biotech to enhance their abilities…. I wonder how sports will handle that.

This idea of not allowing athletes to use drugs that give them an edge is absolutely insane. There is no drug that will help you be a better tennis player, they don’t make you more skilled… so I don’t see how people can say this is cheating.

  • She was not honest she was lying, and it wasn’t fair for the other players. She’s a cheater I never like her anyway she made all her money in the US, and she’s not even a citizen.

  • U said who cares if she’s on drugs?? Its a sad world that we live in. If you want to be professional in a sport you have to be enhanced nowadays, what happend to talent?

  • I agree and it’s why I am starting this position to allow doping in modern days in certain sports and if it is loosely regulated

    https://www.change.org/p/iaaf-international-association-of-athletics-federations-allow-doping-in-athletics?recruiter=304282173&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_for_starters_page&utm_term=des-lg-no_src-no_msg&fb_ref=Default

  • great vid man, keep up the good work. Also just got Vasky, biggest contrast between how a supp smells and how it tastes lol it tastes great

  • The thing about meldonium is that it stays in your body for months, so IF the last time she took this med was a day/week or even 2 months before it was banned, she should technically, be innocent, not banned or atleast be monitored for supposed continuous decreasing amount of meldonium in the bloodstream. Did they specify a certain amount of meldonium? I don’t think so.

  • I think (my opinion) it’s meldonium that keeps MS going. There are many players that is better than her. Wether in service, volley, slice, drop shots, etc. unfortunately because she did not disclose this Med for a certain period of years, she was able to take it and keep winning over clean players.

  • Drugpova dares not put Meldonium into her WTA doping control form. Drugpova dares not tell anyone else even including her team doctor about Meldonium. Drugpova increases dosages before important matches. So it is pretty obvious that drugpova has the absolute intention to use drugs to enhance her performance despite the possible controversy about the efficacy of Meldonium, as it is pretty sure that she believes Meldonium could enhance her performance. Or why doesn’t she dare to fill in her medical form and tell her team doctor about Meldonium? So there are, instead, probably more shady drugs, banned or not, that drugpova dares not reveal! It is so right to expose this secret chronic doping bitch!

  • like maria sharapova, serena williams has been allowed to use illegal drugs, (tues), by wada; except in sharapova’s case she only used meldonium, for a heart condition, which she took legally for 10 years, until wada decided to make the same drug illegal, 2 weeks before she played in the australian open;
apparently they only sent her an e mail to say she could not use it, but they did not contact her to ask if she had received it.
williams has been allowed to use corticosteroids prednisone & prednisolone, which heighten physiological functions & oxycode, a painkiller; all of which are illegal drugs; she has also been known to avoid drug tests; this can be found by typing in ‘serena williams; drug cheat?’
    good reading!!!

  • jennifer capriati is a hater, eventhough people will hating on maria because she made a mistake, she will still be the richest female athlete

  • Poor explanation. For ten years it was ok but then rule changed and I did not know…. Well… You ARE a pro… It s YOUR job to make sure whatever crap you are using is ok at ALL TIMES!!!! IT S YOUR MISTAKE!!!! OWN IT AND MOVE ON. STOP GIVING CHILDISH CHEAP EXCUSES!!!!

  • Son: “Daddy, does Sharapova has a cute vagina?”Father: “Sorry?!?!? what did you say?”Son: “I overheard Sharapova’s Russia doctor say she has acute angina”Father: “Ah….that explains her prescription for a CIS only-registered drug for myocardial infarction;  however, it seems Maria, who suffers from recurring flu and has a distant relative with diabetes, has been mis-prescribed this drug by an incompetent Russia doctor; it is funny, with her body being her tool, you would have expected her to employ only the best doctors with her $30million/year income……obviously not”

  • While meldonium likely provides some PED like effects it seems rather ineffective. There are many other female tennis players that are so obviously on androgenic hormones I find this to be a joke.

  • I think you should take whatever you want an let the best person win. if summat makes you better why not u still got to win whatever sport it is. example I could take best sport performance drug going an still lose tennis game to maria or lose a fight to mcgregor or get nut megged by messi. its all politics people with there opinions telling cus all what we can an can’t do get 1 life do what you want as long as you’re not hurting anybody else.

  • Imagine the media’s reaction if this was Serena, just imagine if she admitted to taking this drug for 10 years. Funny thing is she still couldn’t beat Serena, hasn’t even won a set against her for about 7 years.

  • This means she has been using illegal drug which helped her win a lot of matches and championship. If thats the case i think she should be sacked of all her championships.

  • According to what she said she was about to die. woow looks as innocent as a lamb. almost say I don’t breake even a dish. A high percentage (17%) of Russian athletes were using meldonium in 2015 they know what is for. Nothing for what maria Sharapova said. She is full time cheater. Very glad see her saying goodbye. Must return many things Miss Sharapova.

  • I heard that it is a drug designed for heart patients and its shouldn’t be taken more than 6 weeks. Not 10 years and she probably ain’t no heart patient. So she is bullshitting

  • She has been taking a medicine that’s been legal for years and then people come crying and blaming her because it’s been illegal for 3 months. Oh boy…

  • Look who’s talking:

Lance Armstrong (usage and traffic), Martina Hingis (cocaine), Michael Irvin (cocaine), Ben Johnson (Stanozolol), Eddy Merckx (the whole pharmacy), Michael Phelps (cannabis), Marion Jones (the BALCO’s), Andre Agassi (methamphetamine), Tim Montgomery (steroids), Tyson Gay (low self-esteem), Carl Lewis (Ephedra), John McEnroe (steroids), Mary Decker (testosterone)

  • Would have been nice if her tennis rivals over the years supported her,, i believe she would have been deeply happy inside if some did,, but they did not show,, thats life i tell you,, people will never understand people,,, they would rather turn and walk away,,,personally me and her army of fans are glad this girl made it back and been having her name in the history books from Day 1,,, what a life,,, and as im older id say what a life before shes even old,,, she has so much more living in front of her,,, her wall must be so high now,,,,, damn,,,,,,, world,,, long live Maria Sharapova.

  • As protection Sharapova claims: “I had a deficiency in magnesium and a family history of diabetes”. I you have a deficiency of magnesium, you should take magnesium pills. Meldonium improves endurance and regeneration, thats why a lot ot athlets from Russia took it until 2016.

  • I was not a Masha fan at all before the suspension mainly due to her ice cold demeanor towards other players, but watching her face this moment bravely and her humbling herself post-suspension, I do find myself rooting for her now.

  • I’ll always have Maria’s back, she’s legally been taking that medication during all those years. Up until 3 months ago it was banned. She’ll definitely get suspended for a while, but she’ll be back with more hunger to prove doubters wrong.

• MMMM IF THAT WAS SERENA, OH MY THEY WOULD STRIP HER OFF EVERYTHING AND PUT SOME JAIL TIME ON HER: ANY WIN OVER THE SISTERS WAS A CHEAT.

  • You need to give back all the trophys you won in the last ten years to the runner up you CHEAT YOU KNEW THAT MEDICATION WOULD MAKE YOU MOVE FASTER ON THE COURT

  • The guilt and the feel of being exposed is written all over her face, and all she does is make a irrelevant mark on the carpet, which makes her even more of an asshole.

  • she sickens me. a common cheat amongst many common Russian cheats! but Russia always saying they are being victimised! they have become rich through cheating and deprived honest athletes from achieving what is rightly theirs. she sucks. maybe she should give back the cups and donate the wealth she has got by forgery to those in the world who are more deserving. no she won’t do that.

  • Took “medicine” aka illegal performance enhancing drugs and STILL couldn’t win. She is a disgraceful cheat. How dare they allow her to announce it herself. She should have been disgraced like any other drug cheat in her position.

  • Well what I dont get is she had been taking this drug for like 10yrs, meldonium raises blood pressure to the heart or something I looked up, so I mean it just doesnt add up that she wouldnt know how dodgy it is and exactly what shes taking. Shes made some good deals out of Nike and all shes got to do is if she gets 4yrs ban, she can take her case to the sports governing body or whatever it is and just get that down to 1yr anyway.

At the end of the day Maria has been caught cheating!! and she should be punished! Its just typical cause if this happened to Serena everyone would be like, “I told you so, I knew there was something about her”. But no, when its someone like Maria, blonde, blue-eyed beauty, people just cant handle the truth, they dont want to believe it, instead they’re like “Oh its such a shame, it wasnt her fault, innocent mistake”.
But I guess thats the typical world we live in.

  • So Sharapova is suffering from HEART FAILURE if so, why is the bitch playing high action sports? lol Its complete bullshit that she threw that family HX excuse in there to make it appears as if she has heart failure OR something closely related to it.
If she needs a serious medication like Meldonium, maybe she should sit here overrated ass down and retire like most that have heart failure in which any Cardiologist will STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you do so.

  • Typical Russians, did anyone else hear about how the entire u-18 Russian boys junior hockey team also tested positive for meldonium? I don’t know what it is with Russian athletes, its as if they are trying to recapture the glory days of the USSR, but don’t have the integrity to compete honestly. Ban the entire country from competing, enough is enough with these cheats.

  • The biggest crime of all drug cheats is getting caught. Two years ban from tennis should effectively see yet another drugs cheat retired early albeit with her millions of dollars. Will she be missed? Not really.

  • Stay strong Maria
This is too conspiratory. I mean they should have announced the result ASAP, not 10 years after Australian Open.
Either her doctors are in some kind of conspiracy against her, or it had something to do with what she has said or did that offended “some people”. I was not her fan, but since this miss treatment, I will be rooting for her.

  • ITS OBVIOUS THAT SHE RESULTS TO DRUGS BECAUSE SHE JUST CANT BEAT SERENA THE GREAT. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR THE PRE PREPARED HORSE SHIT FROM HER PR TEAM

  • Yeah right. Not fooling me with your black dress and your crying face Screamova!
On these difficult times, all I have for you is:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UUUUUUUUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Took “medicine” aka illegal performance enhancing drugs and STILL couldn’t win. She is a disgraceful cheat. How dare they allow her to announce it herself. She should have been disgraced like any other drug cheat in her position.

  • after reading extensively about Sharapova’s recent positive drug test. It is difficult to establish what has happened. There’s been reports that you have to take it on high doses to give the expected enhancing effect, then it can cause the opposite instead of enhancing, if you take it on low doses it does have any effect. Then how come she would let herself be caught and ruin her career if she knew she was doing something wrong, how come nobody from her team warned her, maybe didn’t know she was taking it, and if it did provide the physical enhancements WADA says I don’t think it worked for Sharapova. She’s never been really fast, she’s never been the strongest, in her matches on that went to a 3rd set she always seemed exhausted and very tired after them. It seems the medicine was used by Russian soldiers to prevent heart conditions such as ischemia after very strenuous exercise. But a German expert on anti-doping in Germany that said it has the potential to enhance physical and mental abilities. But it has the potential does not necessarily means it does in reality. Take modafinil which seems to improve cognitive ability, there are strong side-effects in the short-term and not much known in the long-term.

  • Strip off all of her titles. This woman is a cheat. We all know Serena Williams would never get this treatment if she were tested positive. Sharapova gets the benefit of the doubt. What a hypocrisy.

  • Rotten ol’d west and their ‘journalists’ use just any chance to stab anything Russian in the chest right now. That is why Sharapova’s case is so politicised and broadcast everywhere, despite fact the ‘sudden drug’ was a medicine all these years, and still is.

  • Reading your comments is so funny! Every body and I mean every body in sport as a professional athlete takes enhancing drugs that are legal so don’t be dumb people land act like fools saying « she should be banned » get educated for once in your life.. stupid people ‍♂️

  • I hope she will be ready for Roland Garros. Paris needs this supermodel on high heels with the trophy in her hands, just like in 2014.

  • That’s a rather interesting statement she made attributing her getting sick often, an irregular EKG, and a family history of diabetes as reasons for taking the medicine. If you look up the drug on wiki, its only manufacturer is in Latvia and was developed to aid in curing a circulatory disease in the lower extremities feet and toes. Apparently the drug manufacturer began promoting the drug to enhance endurance and other physical benefits that could benefit a professional athlete.

  • Look who’s talking:

Lance Armstrong (usage and traffic), Martina Hingis (cocaine), Michael Irvin (cocaine), Ben Johnson (Stanozolol), Eddy Merckx (the whole pharmacy), Michael Phelps (cannabis), Marion Jones (the BALCO’s), Andre Agassi (methamphetamine), Tim Montgomery (steroids), Tyson Gay (low self-esteem), Carl Lewis (Ephedra), John McEnroe (steroids), Mary Decker (testosterone)

  • She cheated and got caught. End of story. Her little lame excuses fall on deaf ears. She is a fraud who is now seeking sympathy for getting exposed.

  • Let me say first and foremost I have never and still do not like something about Sharapova. Yet there is something about a millionaire entertainer who has a staff take care of pretty much EVERYTHING. I find it incomprehensible that she is being punished for this at all. This ENTIRE EPISODE IS SUSPECT!!!

  • The decision to add meldonium to the banned list was approved on 16 September 2015, and it came into effect on 1 January 2016! Not in 2006, stupid TROLLS…

  • Let me say first and foremost I have never and still do not like something about Sharapova. Yet there is something about a millionaire entertainer who has a staff take care of pretty much EVERYTHING. I find it incomprehensible that she is being punished for this at all. • It seems today that sports has too much money for athletes. This alone is a motivation to get away with one. Also I believe her and am shocked that a medication taken for medical reasons for years, can now be denied for sports reasons. Health of a person should mean something. Also as a former sports fan I am sick of athletes literally being drug tested to victory or defeat. It has become stupid. I gave up watching hears ago mainly because of this issue.

  • A carefully worded statement crafted by the best PR that money can buy. She skilfully removes herself from any wrongdoing by appearing bewildered & not understanding what she has done wrong. Well let me tell you! You took a performance enhancing drug which gave you an unfair advantage over your opponents spanning ten years. You stand there so sugary sweet & innocent & then tell us that you have health problems (congenital heart failure?)…..bullshit! Dopers have no place in sport!

  • thug????
    Williams is man
16 plus inch arms, has roid. rages smashing rackets…
the day she was sooooo. high she couldn’t bounce a ball or hit it over the NET

  • She right away said she was taking that drug-she admitted her mistake. So guys-leave it at that. Go be a troll somewhere else. They said it was an honest mistake. Are you listening people!

  • the should make those two black twin sisters take a DNA test to determine their sex because they are both men who been cheating the system for years.

  • She like her Russian friends were CAUGHT! She has lived in the US for 2 decades but still was using an RUSSIAN DOCTOR! That was not by accident. Also not by accident that multiple Russian athletes have been caught using the SAME DRUG. So they all have diabetes and heart problems? BTW..the drug helps with ENDURANCE AND RECOVERY…which is why she like her Russian friends were taking it. Ban her for LIFE

  • She had to cheat to compete with the Williams sister because she ain’t shit. She needs to leave the US and go live back in filthy Russia.

  • You are so cute Sharapova. Love the “I’m so beautiful and that will make me the innocent woman who didn’t know” kudos to that. A substance for heart patients to increase the blood flow to the heart and improve stamina and to recover sooner from workouts. No she had absolutely no clue, she was only looking for something to cure her flu.

  • Will be interesting to see what happens when people start using nanotech and biotech to enhance their abilities…. I wonder how sports will handle that.

  • The rules are the rules, regardless of where you stand on the steroid/PED issue. I believe that they should be legal, but have no intention of ever taking any.

She claims to have been taking the drug, under doctor’s orders, for 10 yrs. Even if it’s true, she admitted to never checking the 2016 banned substance list. That, in itself, amounts to willful negligence.

A 4-5 year ban for a non-steroid first offence does seem excessive. Suspend her for the remainder of the year, and call it good.

    good reading!!!

  • If Sharapova is a drug cheater, for taking medication that was legal only 2 weeks before it was banned, how do you justify the the cheaters who take Performance enhancing drugs with WADA approval? Under this system the drug testers will never report positive tests if the athlete has a WADA TUEs certificate. (Therapeutic Use Exemptions)

  • It was probably an honest mistake in the sense that she probably didn’t know that meldonium had become illegal… However she was probably using it to enhance her performances, but again, it was legal, so while it might not be fair play, there is no much that can be said against her…

  • She NEVER once put Meldonium on WADA form of medications she was taking, a form mandatory to every player to fill out. NOT ONCE IN TEN YEARS SHE’S BEEN TAKING IT she put it on the form. Wada’s transcript of her trail is publicly avaliable, and if you read it WADA says she put all kinds of medicines throught the years she’s been taking but never once Meldonium, and it’s a well tought out by her because Meldonium is a drug that is prescribed to be used for couple of months maximum in case you need it, and Sharapova has been taking it for 10 years! Sure she has. It was a legal PED, WADA didn’t know about it, they couldn’t detect it in her urine samples, she just needed to keep her mouth shout and not disclose it on her forms, and no one knows. She succesfully did that for 10 years! BUT other sportsmen from Russia heard about Meldonium and begun taking it also, and then WADA found out, it came often in urine samples and then substance got banned. She cheated for 10 years silently, without WADA knowing anything and the rest of the world. Taking a drug that is prescribed by doctors to take for maximum of couple of months for 10 years. Meldonium increases oxygen supply to the heart so you can train longer, recover quicker and also her doctor told her that she doubles the dose before important match so in that match she had an advantage over opponent, cause she had far more energy given by Meldonium, she could have lasted longer and not feel fatigue…. clear PED. She lies as a pro though, what a lying and cheating life and charachter of a women.

  • A cheat protected by the ITF, Nike & Head…all because she was a big draw glamour girl earning sponsors millions! Not even her US coaches or management were aware of visits to her Russian dope doctor. She then expected us to believe that she was on Meldonium for a heart problem! Since being caught she looks a shadow of the player she was.

  • Reading your comments is so funny! Every body and I mean every body in sport as a professional athlete takes enhancing drugs that are legal so don’t be dumb people land act like fools saying « she should be banned » get educated for once in your life.. stupid people ‍♂️

  • When unshielded then devil active then humiliation destruction etc… the possession of aaaaaaaaaaa… believe it it’s true as beautiful b# #bs of ### #s

  • Cheater. You are NOT respected and stop being so arrogant. “…the impact I’ve had on millions of lives. People have come up to me in the airports, streets, cars say that they can’t wait to see me back.” IRRELEVANT MUCH!

  • I am not a Russian individual and i am not obsessed with any foreign famous people however, i do not believe in the fact that Sharapova cheated, used drugs vice versa. It substantially sounds like yet another Russian vs American battle around the world. Sharapova proved such a strong tennis player for many years and overcame other competitors/racquets attending
from other countries including US. As US always crave to be the unmatched unrivaled as well as unbeatable, they simply
spoiled her by unrealistic news also threatened her. Therefore, she looked like she admitted that she used drugs.

Even it is the truth that She genuinely consumed them, it won’t change the fact that she was dishonored by the filthy games of US.

    in case you ask me why i am not convinced;

    * Complaints mainly emerged from US people. That is a big sign.

    * I watched her plenty years and she truly dominated the courts. She also brought an exquisite style, enticing view as majority of the female tennis players are not appealing.

  • FYI for people thinking she was innocent, guess again! Read this http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/tennis/maria-sharapova-two-year-drug-ban-meldonium-story-doesnt-add-up-a7071881.html

  • So many ignorant trolls in this world! Pathetic! Get lost, people! Do you think Maria cares about all your negative comments? Na-ah

  • Cheater. You are NOT respected and stop being so arrogant. “…the impact I’ve had on millions of lives. People have come up to me in the airports, streets, cars say that they can’t wait to see me back.” IRRELEVANT MUCH!

  • Wow, this Lauer turd is so biased it hurts. This is such a puff piece interview, even as he asks the questions, he’s already declared her innocent so what’s the f-ing point?

  • Mistake yes but honest? Cmon! Why are you even on a defense mode? It was deliberate. You’re crying honesty because your career is in a downward spiral. You’re cheater. Just like Lance Armstrong.

  • Ona e krásna devojka ona e krasno stvorenie nekogas súm si cenil Demetieva sega e Sharapova sme srekni koga ja gledame Marija kako sportkinja. Pozdravljayem MK.

  • If she took a drug because of a legitimate health issue she has and that drug happens to be recently banned and she didnt know about it and there was no conscious cheating intention on her behalf, I think you can forgive someone if that is the case and they are being truly honest.

  • We don’t have to be tennis expert’s to know that her carrer is dead. She can try to return to the top, but she’s not 25, she’s 30 years old, 2017 are ending and 31 are closer. Without regard that now there are many players better than her and she is suffering injuries constantly because she could have the ilusion to become the number one, but lose 15 months of competition is fatal and her body isn’t the same. I hope to be wrong and see again the best versions of Maria in tennis courts.

  • wow… so much hate.. whatever..
Still like a person with passion and love for sports. She doesn’t care about others.. As long as she can play tennis she’ll be golden

  • Russians are KNOWN cheaters! It is well documented. Watch ICARUS on Netflix. Shows in-depth all the Russian doping and how they easily get away with it.

  • What a shame; Maria wont be doing the qualifying tourneys for Wimbledon. Shes hurt. If I got caught doing substances on my job. I think I would get banned for life. No appeal just a ” your fired ” She cheated. No doubt about it. She should be banned for life, No doubt about it

  • OK So no judging but any psychologist or body language class will tell you when people look down to the left when answering questions…. good chance they are telling a lie. Understanding body Language can save you tons of grief in life.

  • I just found out about this through another story, but lets shut up the haters with this comment.

She was prescribed it by a doctor for hereditary heart issues. It was prescribed under a different brand name. She kept taking it longer, perhaps because she wanted to avoid heart issues. I take stomach medicine long after my doctor said to take it for because it fixes a problem.

She said she did not know it had been added to the banned list. People complain she should have checked, well do you check every week for something that MIGHT have changed, no because that’s ridiculous.

So my above comments are as I’ve read and heard in the interviews.
The appropriate associations investigated they found that it was unintentional. They had all the information, you did not. It’s their job to decide these things, not yours.
Is she lying? They didn’t think so. So unless you’re certified as a professional microexpressions reader, your opinion is invalid.

  • Marijuana works far better for preventing damage from ischemia, even at extremely small dosesand for up to 3 days 40% of damage from heart attack or stroke and also brain swelling is prevented.

Sadly it took pulling the eyeballs out of live and conscious great apes to induce grand mal seizures then killing and disecting, and or stabbing them in the heart with a scalpel, let the heal and then kill and disect to learn this information. By an ivy league school tooand not that long ago. Do not let information this important, and that came at such a cost fall to the wayside.

Of course marijuana is also listed a performance enhancing drugand the ironic part of every high school foot ball fieldis it is in a drug free zone.

  • I haven’t been following Marc as often as before he went on American Grit, so when I clicked on his recent vids i was surprised to see he really lost a lot of size. I knew he didnt wanna carry all that mass the rest of his life, but damn seem like a lot. Oh well, overall health is #1 priority

  • Oh come one maria had an unfair advantage for 10 years. Its not a level playing field and she lied to cover up. Remove the chemicals and work on increasing opportunity for more kids to afford sports activity.

  • She should be banned until the drug has fully left her system, however long that maybe. She should be proud of her self that she didn’t hide it. No punishment should be taken

  • In response to Sharapova’s disclosure, the Latvian pharmaceutical company that produces meldonium said patients usually require a four-to-six-week course of treatment that may be repeated twice a year, not a decade of continuous use. It turns out, too, that WADA had issued multiple notifications about the pending ban on meldonium; given Sharapova’s obsessive attention to detail and the size and competence of the team around her, it seems odd that she would have been unaware of this.

  • She was not honest she was lying, and it wasn’t fair for the other players. She’s a cheater I never like her anyway she made all her money in the US, and she’s not even a citizen.

  • I believe that was honest mistake. Hold on Maria, you will get trough this.If illegal substance is in bout drugs (Mildronate and Melatonin), WHY is not bout drugs on the ITF list????Its the fault of ITF, as much as Sharapova’s.

  • Wait, so for 10 YEARS she was never randomly drug tested? So much for a Drug testing program.

Wonder how many other pro tennis players have gotten away with using band drugs simply because there were no drug testing.

If you are a pro athlete you look at the “band drug” list prior to taking any drug. Period. She’s lying.

  • I lost SO much respect for her when she tried to put the blame for this error onto her team and as a 28/29 year old, could not take responsibility for herself. She is SUCH a narcissist in this interview! “I’ve touched millions of people’s lives…” Who says that other than a narcissist?!

  • It was probably an honest mistake in the sense that she probably didn’t know that meldonium had become illegal… However she was probably using it to enhance her performances, but again, it was legal, so while it might not be fair play, there is no much that can be said against her…

  • I lost SO much respect for her when she tried to put the blame for this error onto her team and as a 28/29 year old, could not take responsibility for herself. She is SUCH a narcissist in this interview! “I’ve touched millions of people’s lives…” Who says that other than a narcissist?!

  • Doesn’t sound like to me she was doing anything wrong she was taking something for years that wasn’t a violation of rules. Then, it all of a sudden was and she’s taking it for health reasons. These sporting events must really think drugs make you a better star, yet she didn’t win every game did she? So it makes you think that maybe these sports should consider that people’s health is more important than the actual sport itself. In my opinion, she let no one down and is a great athlete because of her skill and ability NOT because of taking some drug! Maria has my love and respect for life. I wish her well no matter where she goes and what she does in life.:)

  • I think (my opinion) it’s meldonium that keeps MS going. There are many players that is better than her. Wether in service, volley, slice, drop shots, etc. unfortunately because she did not disclose this Med for a certain period of years, she was able to take it and keep winning over clean players.

  • now it makes sense why Sharapova wins so many grueling three set matches…its an endurance drug which helps your recovery. explains how she manages to maintain near max intensity and fitness to the end whilst her drug free opponents tire out… all makes sense now.. cheat

  • ITF tribunal gave Maria an unfairly harsh suspension because she is such a famous athlete and they wanted to make an example out of her.

  • This’s why I don’t watch any sports anymore! U R all crooks, Chinese, Americans, Argentinians, Germans, Japan, Brits, Germans, French.., Fk u all

  • Wait, so for 10 YEARS she was never randomly drug tested? So much for a Drug testing program.

Wonder how many other pro tennis players have gotten away with using band drugs simply because there were no drug testing.

  • Yeah right. Not fooling me with your black dress and your crying face Screamova!
On these difficult times, all I have for you is:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • now it makes sense why Sharapova wins so many grueling three set matches…its an endurance drug which helps your recovery. explains how she manages to maintain near max intensity and fitness to the end whilst her drug free opponents tire out… all makes sense now.. cheat

  • She was not honest she was lying, and it wasn’t fair for the other players. She’s a cheater I never like her anyway she made all her money in the US, and she’s not even a citizen.

  • She cheated and got caught. End of story. Her little lame excuses fall on deaf ears. She is a fraud who is now seeking sympathy for getting exposed.

  • Oh come one maria had an unfair advantage for 10 years. Its not a level playing field and she lied to cover up. Remove the chemicals and work on increasing opportunity for more kids to afford sports activity.

  • The decision to add meldonium to the banned list was approved on 16 September 2015, and it came into effect on 1 January 2016! Not in 2006, stupid TROLLS…

  • Meldonium is so called doping: Forbes reported that anesthesiology professor Michael Joyner, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, who studies how humans respond to physical and mental stress during exercise and other activities, told them that “Evidence is lacking for many compounds believed to enhance athletic performance. Its use has a sort of urban legend element and there is not much out there that is clearly that effective. I would be shocked if this stuff [meldonium] had an effect greater than caffeine or creatine (a natural substance that, when taken as a supplement, is thought to enhance muscle mass).” Ford Vox, a U.S.-based physician specializing in rehabilitation medicine and a journalist reported “there’s not much scientific support for its use as an athletic enhancer”.

  • thug????
    Williams is man
16 plus inch arms, has roid. rages smashing rackets…
the day she was sooooo. high she couldn’t bounce a ball or hit it over the NET

  • the should make those two black twin sisters take a DNA test to determine their sex because they are both men who been cheating the system for years.

  • She should be banned until the drug has fully left her system, however long that maybe. She should be proud of her self that she didn’t hide it. No punishment should be taken

  • jennifer capriati is a hater, eventhough people will hating on maria because she made a mistake, she will still be the richest female athlete

  • I’ll always have Maria’s back, she’s legally been taking that medication during all those years. Up until 3 months ago it was banned. She’ll definitely get suspended for a while, but she’ll be back with more hunger to prove doubters wrong.

  • Imagine the media’s reaction if this was Serena, just imagine if she admitted to taking this drug for 10 years. Funny thing is she still couldn’t beat Serena, hasn’t even won a set against her for about 7 years.
