You don’t have to give up the foods you love, you just need to PLAN for them. Learn how to make a plate like we lay out in this guide. Prioritize protein, and always put a fruit or vegetable on your plate before filling the rest of it up! This will get you 90% of the way towards a great healthy eating strategy. Eat healthily.

You need to make a difference in the way you eat if you want a healthier lifestyle. Start by eating more veggies. Try to eat more vegetables every day. They help with your metabolism and strengthen your immune system. Try snacking on carrots, or celery every once in a while.

Make healthier meals during the day. More calorie-dense foods such as cheese, nuts and fatty meats are healthy, but make sure you pay attention to portion sizes when you eat them. Use vegetables as toppings, or eat the pizza with a side of green salad. Add grilled vegetables or a creamy avocado sauce, or trade classic toppings for healthier choices.

With time, your body will develop a taste for healthy foods and you’ll want to eat more of them! You’ll make healthier choices without even realizing it!Since fast-food options take all of the guesswork out of the equation, you’re naturally drawn to it, regardless of the high calories and lack of real nutrients.

  • There is a chiropractor on youtube who put out a video which said that you need to be asleep somewhere between 11pm and 1am and that you should never get more than 6 1/2 hours of sleep or it is bad for you.
    The hardest thing for me is getting to bed at night life gets in the way…

  • None of this goody two shoes tips really work. I’ve tried everything. Even snacking healthy. Because your brain just gets taken hostage by your body’s need for the crap. It is extremely strong. Even if I snack on a bowl of grapes or frozen grapes or whatever, after that, I still go back to the original crap I was craving for. So I failed.
    Now what I do that seems to be the only thing that works is, (people’s are not gonna like it because it feels like a huge waste) I will pick up the bar of chocolate or get that cup of Ben and Jerry’s or bag of chips or bag of cookies or whatever and instead I will directly toss it into the trash bin or I will head to the kitchen and pour dish washing soap on it to ruin it so I can’t have it.
    These days I just don’t buy any crap anymore. Because if I have and I see it, I will want it or think about it later and want it. So it works just not buying it in the first place

  • Hi everyone. I’ve lost 40 lbs. over the last six years, 30 over the last three, 20 over the last 1.5, and 10 over the last six months.

    The REAL key, is to make changes that are permanent, changes that aren’t so extreme that you will eventually have to stop.

    Well, I have to say that the best way to loose weight is always with exercise. However if you want to loose 10kg without working out, then reduce your sugar and increase protein. Increase your vegetable intake and lean proteins including legumes, beans, fish, vegetable proteins. don’t eat after 630–7pm and fast for 12–14 hours before you eat something else. Cut out sodas, juices, diet drinks, artificial sweeteners, and do not use a lot of caffeine. One to two cups of coffee is ok. Additionally, don’t use chemicals like fat free or chemically treated low fat foods, and do not use boxed or processed foods. Good luck!

  • I need help! I’m a type 2 diabetic & I can’t get my diabetes under control. I’m very confused on what to eat. I’m not the greatest cook but can follow instructions for recipes as long as the ingredients are available in a regular grocery store. I’m 5’21/2” & weigh 272lbs. I’m on insulin.   • Great tips. The key for me is portion control. I eat anything I want, but only half of it. That way, I never feel deprived. If I crave something that’s less than healthy, I eat a little and stop. My craving is satisfied, usually, and I don’t go overboard. Eating something else trying to satisfy the craving never works. If it’s not what I’m really craving, I’ll just keep snacking on almost-good-enough food until I’ve eaten far more calories than if I just gave in to the craving to being with. It’s pretty much taught at that time because kids have a really small lunch time window, in which they have to wait in the line, get their food, eat their food and get back to class. This window gets smaller the higher up in grades you go. I know my brothers had an awful time during high school, as they had to walk all the way across the school, wait in line, get their lunch, eat, walk back, all in 25 minutes. I was lucky because I had orchestra, which was right next to the cafeteria, so 25 minutes wasn’t horrible. Many workplaces are just as bad. Sure, a 30 min lunch break is “normal”, however if you have to leave for whatever reason to get your lunch, you may have just a few minutes to actually eat it. My brothers still wolf down their meals, the habit is so ingrained. After I went on disability b/c of my MS, I naturally slowed down my eating. The bad thing is, my nieces and nephews that have just started school, I can see them getting into the “I must finish this meal ASAP” habit, and I know it’s because of the school lunch time issue.

  • I’m 77 female and retired. I worked night shift 30 years. I go to bed at 10:33 and sleep until I wake up then get up I don’t get up to go to the bathroom at all and I usually sleep until 8 or 8:30. I do use a cpap which helps me feel pepped up in the morning.

Please, anyone reading this who is struggling with type 2 diabetes, research low carb/high fat alternatives to the horrific advice in this video. Most people can reverse diabetes and get off medication in a matter of weeks! If your doctor or nutritionist is telling you to “manage” your blood sugar with carbohydrates, they are literally keeping you sick. Find a new doctor.

    I have an “all or nothing” mindset I’m trying so hard to fix but it really isn’t working that much. I eat healthy as much as I can, but I really try to let myself eat whatever my body wants. If it’s my mind that wants it (let’s say a chocolate muffin) I’ll do something satisfying (something sweet, like fruits with almonds or dates or a smoothie) with water and that always helps(if my body wants it I have just enough to satisfy but not overeat) but then my mom makes something not so healthy for dinner and is really good, so I try to eat a limited amount, but then end up eating “just one more” and then suddenly I’ve eaten way too much and then go through the whole kitchen like a monster. It can also go like this, I eat healthily for 5 days (that’s my average. It always usually 5 days), and I eat really good and intuitive eat, but I end up binging on the 6th day.

    I always wonder if there may be an underlying problem, but I’m way too anxious (I get anxious a lot, especially with new people and social situation jeez I’m getting anxious just thinking about it, but Idk if I have anxiety) to meet and talk to a new person/therapist, and I don’t want to burden my parents. The same thing happened when I developed “anorexia”, ( I wasn’t diagnosed so Idk if I should actually call it that) I didn’t want to burden my parents and I know they’d be heartbroken.

    This is sad, but sometimes I wish I could get “anorexia” back because I’d lose weight faster and not binge as frequently. I basically “Recovered” myself, and catch myself when I have those thoughts because my binging was getting worse the more I starved myself. But now the binging is back again and I’m not starving myself, and I don’t know what to do. Every time I try a new weight-loss method it works for the first 4.5kg/10lbs, but then I binge and I just can’t get back into it. I am sad. Very sad. I work out every day and for every 0.9/2lbs I lose I gain 1.3kg/3lbs or 1.8kg/4lbs back. It sucks. I just want to get to my goals.

    Anyways there was no need for it to be this long, but I wanted to ask for some tips (If you have) regarding the “all or nothing” mindset and binging.:(

  • Growing up in the fifties here in the uk we ate from dinner plates much smaller than these days but our dinner plates are much smaller than in the USA. And your restaurant portion sizes are huge compared to ours. The old saying needs to be back in fashion, ” All things in moderation”.
    We need to enjoy our blessings of plenty of all good foods in the west but not allow its abundance to control us. And all these fads like Keto, low carb, high carb only encourage people to eat too much.   • Thanks for the tips! I’m not trying to lose weight but know people who are. My bad habits (it’s just as bad if not worse) is my sodium intake. I don’t like sweets but LOVE, salty, sour and spicy foods. I CRAVE it all. I put loads of salt on grapefruit, lemons, etc or I put loads of hot sauce on nearly everything. Believe it or not, just this week I started cutting way back because I’ve been noticing puffy hands and face. At 40 I’m realizing I can’t get away with those eating habits anymore.:(
