great read. I was a bicycle racer for about 7 years and become extremely burnt out, quitting all physical exercise for nearly two years and gaining over 60 lbs. The time investment for cycling is ridiculous, even for a mid level amateur. The accidents are dangerous and people regularly die in races. Cyclists are good at cycling, and not much else.

  • Motivation is tough for me! I suffer from Chronic pain and Autoimmune issues… I really don’t eat much but it’s the whole getting up and moving!

  • Great video!!! I had gotten down to 195lbs back in 2016. I kept the weight off for quite a while, but then got injured in 2018 and gained up to 250. I joined a weight loss challenge and got down inthe 220s. Then fell off until a few weeks ago. I’m sitting at 260 and plan to get down around 190!! Can’t wait to be back at it!!

  • Congratulations on taking control of your future. You’re an inspiration to us all.  I’m sharing this with my teen sons, both of whom are obese but my youngest is morbidly obese (as am I). Thank you for sharing your story.  God Bless you.

  • I agree with relying on someone else, i did it with my mom and t first it was Going good buttttt same thing happend that she stopped and i stopped too:( biggest mistake, but i started doing it on my own and its better cuz i motivate myself

  • Any advice for a newbie with chronic illness and pain? I cant move around well so exercise seems impossible and im not eating much food, 23 female 223

  • Hi! This is a great video, and it inspires me to keep up my personal progress. I only have one question; when talking about Tim Ferriss’ diet plan from one of his books, you say that you don’t recommend it. Why is that? ( 11:14) Thank you!!!!

  • Hi Marissa! I love your videos! I found you in my recommended list last week since I’m always watching motivational and instructional things on weight loss, nutrition and fasting. I hit my high weight a couple months ago and decided enough was enough and it was time to get back to business. I have yo-yo’ed up and down many times in my life, but I have lost 30 to 45 pounds several times, so I’ve been around the block on this. The bad thing is this time I was about 15 pounds more than my previous highest-ever weight, so it’s that much farther to go now. I’ve been doing fasts since Jan 26, most of them around 40 hours or more, and I alternate day fasted for 16 days. I lost as much as 15 pounds but have been floating at an average loss of 13.5 for the last 10 days (plateaus suck!), so I’ve decided to take some advice (you mentioned this too) and shake things up for a couple weeks. I started doing a 12/12 intermittent routine today and will see how that goes. I’m not doing a lot of working out yet. I will take your advice and start drinking more water, which I never seem to do. I have three things you said to do that I personally can’t do: 1) I have to weigh myself every day; if I don’t know my daily number, I get complacent and wind up ruining things; 2) I won’t take photos of myself; I have a few from other high weight periods and they disgust me, I don’t want to see myself like that; 3) I don’t take measurements; when the weight comes off, I’ll see it in the mirror, in how my clothes fit, and I don’t trust the tape measure to be accurate because you can’t put it in the exact same spot every time and you can pull it tighter or let it go loose. I’m going to see if I can start watching all the videos you’ve made, but there are a ton of them, so maybe I’ll pick and choose. Thanks for being here!

  • [Tips for anyone on a weight loss journey]

Low carb with high protein diet while consuming around 1,500 calories daily if you’re not active (without excercise) will help you lose weight, if you are active i would say consume around 1,800 to 2,000 calories per day while exercising you want to have your energy intake (calories) at minimum with high energy expenditure (excercise).

  • Great tips! I had lost 15 pounds in the past year and gained it back since I’m on anxiety/depression medication. I believe I’ve gained like 20 more pounds. I really want to lose 50 pounds! I am having no motivation to work out when I have to start back to working out again after being sick. I hate that. When I get into a routine and then I get sick and have to start all over again. I know I shouldn’t beat myself up for starting slow every time but I do feel like what I’m doing is not good enough. How much do you charge for coaching? Just curious. IG: Thank you so much for the motivation to jump back into my journey.

  • My weight started sticking after my fourth child too. but it really stuck after number 7. I’m so proud of you cause I followed your journey and really saw your pounds melted away with all the hard work.

  • You are such an inspiration person! I needed to here this, I was just wondering if you had a video about how to resist craving or binging?

  • Step 1: buy just dance

  • I disagree with the weighing once a week. Here’s why (hear me out): Let’s say I weigh myself every Monday. I might weigh more this Monday than I did last Monday even though I’ve worked SO HARD all week. A small fluctuation can be attributed to million different factors and in one snapshot of weight, you feel like the whole week of hard work has been for nothing!!! That can be SO discouraging! BUT < insert open mindedness here > if I approach this like a scientist gathering data and weigh myself every day and wright down my weight daily, at the end of each week I can see my average (add all 7 days of weight then divide by 7) that number, THAT number is my average. You will then begin to notice that your weight can fluctuate day to day and it’s totally not a problem! Your weekly average is the truth teller. And week by week you can see your average go down, THAT’S when you know you are losing weight.

    (Edit) here’s an example:

    Week 1
    Monday: 203.4
    Tuesday: 205.6
    Wednesday: 200.9
    Thursday: 202.8
    Friday: 203.0
    Saturday: 202.1
    Sunday: 204.3

    Total: 1,422.1 (divide by 7)
    Average: 203.1

    Week 2
    Monday: 207.3
    Tuesday: 202.5
    Wednesday: 201.7
    Thursday: 202.1
    Friday: 200.6
    Saturday: 201.4
    Sunday: 200.3

    Total: 1415.9
    Average: 202.2

See what I mean? If I just weighed myself on Monday’s, from week one to week 2 I would think OMG I GAINED 4 freakin pounds this week! But if I look at the week as a whole and find my average for the week then I can see I totally made legit progress! Look at things like a scientist, the more data we can gather, the better we’ll be able to see the whole picture and draw accurate conclusions! It’s incredibly motivating!

Idk why more people don’t talk about this! It’s helped me so much. No more fear of the scale!

  • Weight loss is definitely a journey. It’s about remaining consistent even if you don’t really know what you’re doing.
I weighed in at around 400 lbs at my heaviest. I had zero motivation and wanted to hide from everyone. My profession makes it very hard for me to be unmotivated and antisocial… I am a teacher. I decided to make a change; I wanted to be a positive role model for my students… and I just wanted to be happy again. I stopped eating garbage food, so no soda, fast food. I also began weight training. I changed my mindset and now I eat to live opposed to living to eat… corny, I know, but the truth. I am now at 260 lbs. and counting down. For anyone struggling, you can do it! Just stay consistent!

  • I lost about 20 pounds and I feel amazing! I did the wrong thing by eating too little but now I have changed my life. Here are some tips:
-Eat 3 meals and 2 snacks
    -Healthy sugar
-Move more (at least 3 workouts per week or maybe a quick workout everyday in the morning)
    -Go for walks
-Be open to exceptions, one hamburger isn’t going to make you gain 10 pounds

  • Very good Info! I can start off hold then I’ll go off the bandwagon and stay off for a min then struggle to get back on. Same as most people I feel.

  • Hi it’s been 2 weeks since I’m on IF 16/8 and doing 5000-10000 steps per day(might sound as a slow beginning). The fasting is not tough now.
    Started cooking on my own
Anyone up for sharing their experience esp those on it right now?

I’m having some trouble believing how much I ate in the past! I’m not sure if it’s okay but I’ve started having a slight disgust towards chocolaty stuffs (used to be my world) and snacks and I’m worried this might play against me someday

I’ve been on yoyo weight loss journey with extensive exercise (2hrs 6times per day with muscle toning etc and stopped 1 yr ago) and I now want to try it for one last time but I’m scared.

I feel my time revolves too much around food and I’m tired a lot.

  • Honestly, most of the “after pictures” look like if they took a big breath out, their stomach would still go waaaay out than an actual skinny person. How do i actually get to where my stomach firmly tightens permanently???

  • I set out to lose 50 lbs and am currently at 45 down, so almost there. Your tips are great! Especially the narrow your focus. It wasnt until I did that, that I started seeing success. Congrats on your wonderful weigh loss!

  • For those who is still on their way to burn their fat with pills, crazy diets and hard exercises. That woman has given tip me how to burn fat fast still eating my favourite morning burger. Watch that short video here NODIET. XCOURSE. XYZ (without spaces) to know how!

  • Watching that day 1 video had my eyes wet. I don’t even know you but looooovveee how amazing you are. Don’t why away from that number. It no longer defines you!

  • I am so in love with your transparency. You said so many things that I have said to myself over the last month and a half BUT the thing that stuck out for me the most is you saying it was your DEVINE time…that was everything for me! Thank you for your realness my love. Big ups to you, keep encouraging AND you look amazing. Love, hugs and kisses to you❤

  • Just lettin’ you know i enjoyed this video, it was very fun & interesting, it’s great your family joins in with you, i am over weight, i can’t go to the gym cause of this darn virus, so watching youtube videos to get me the push that i need to get me started on my workout routine, i can’t dance much right now, as i have a lower leg & ankle pain, that’s very painful, i have no idea what it is caused from, i’ve had 4 Dr’s, an MRI, X-Rays, even physical therapy, no one knows what my pain is caused from, but your video has helped me to want to try whatever i can to get started on my losing weight routine, i’ll do whatever type of movements that i can, i hope to lose about 60 lb’s, hey how has your weight loss been since July 2019, now it’s a year later & we all have this deadly virus to deal with, also tell me what type of foods do you eat each day, it would help to know this, ok, thanks a bunch.

  • So proud of you.. your an inspiration and I just love how the kids had fun with you while going through your journey. Continue to strive and nuff blessings

  • RESPECT!!! I remember watching your kickstart video. It’s amazing how you stuck to it! You inspired me to workout consistently for 2 months now! I feel much better! Have a lovely day xoxo

  • As someone who lost weight with quite a bit of loose skin, what would you suggest as a preventive measure and did you get surgery to have it removed?

Also, congratulations on achieving your goal and reclaiming your life from being over weight! Your hard work is a true inspiration, friend.

  • This is what I tend to do for my cardio routines and it has been effective and the most efficient for burning fat:
    1. I wear a thick hoodie on top and warm up pants to maximize the amount I sweat (the more you sweat the more fat you burn)
    2. I alternate between sprints and jogs between each minute

  • Calories in vs calories out. Try intermittent fasting & read into it. You skip breakfast, have 1 to 2 meals a day. Feast like a king at dinner time. Myth: Eating food at night makes you gain weight. Truth: As long as you stay in a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. Lastly, have a “cheat meal” on Saturday or Sunday (its your preference.) Count your calories. Otherwise you don’t know how many calories you’re eating. Download JustLoseIt! Or MyFitnessPal to track calories & keep you on track.

  • Congratulations!!! You look amazing and I know you feel amazing too. Thank you for sharing your journey. By the way, your music was fire .

  • Thanks for the video!!
I have always gone the gym so have muscle. I really need to loose some flab though. What kind of diet would you recommend?

  • Such helpful tips! Narrowing my focus would be great, it seems like I focus on too many things at once and end up discouraged. My biggest issue by far, that keeps holding me back, is getting brave enough to lift how I want at the gym. I’ve been paying for a gym membership for years now, and I’ve gone about 12 times. I do cardio at home, treadmill, and the gym is a 40 minute drive (doesn’t help to live in the boonies). I justify all the money I spend on the gym by saying it keeps the equipment safe for my dad who regularly works out lol. I don’t understand my hang up. I’m just a very shy, self conscious person, and it’s not doing me any favors! I know lifting would really change my life.

  • Hi. Did you have aches and pains in your body in the initial days of losing weight? And I don’t mean because of exercise but just by changing to a healthy diet and lifestyle.

  • Thank you Josh! What an inspirational story. I’ve just started mine 2 weeks ago. 4kilos (9 lbs?) in less than 2 weeks. Eating well a low carb kinda diet with no lactose and of course no gluten. Does wonders with pain as well.

  • Omgosh i have been dieting almost for 5 weeks and i lost it when he says im gonna weight myself each week on wednesday. THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DO LOL.

  • My problem is emotional eating. Food is like my drug and I have a very stressful job. I can’t quit my job so I need to find ways to deal without without eating

  • Hi there, I want to know if Custokebon Secrets, will really work for me? I notice many people keep on speaking about this popular fat burn method.

  • Hello, have you thought about this kind of diet plan known as the Custokebon Secrets? My cooworker says it helps people lost tons of weight. Is that possible? I also noticed a lot of good review about this diet plan. Thoughts?

  • I notice lots of people keep on speaking about Custokebon Secrets (search on google). But Im not sure if it is good. Have you ever tried this popular weight loss system?

  • I feel terrible i let myself get back to where i was due to certain things in life, went from 330 to 208 in seven months, then back and more to 360.
Don’t know what to really do or fix. I didn’t count macros or anything before.

  • I’ve already lost over 100lbs on my journey, but I needed this video! I needed to hear this. I’ve got another 60-80lbs to go.
I think I need to start doing weights.
    Thank you.

  • They laughed when I told them I was going to lose fat with just implementing Custokebon Secrets, but after I showed these people awesome results after I used it they are begging me to share with them about it. Of course I won’t let them know the detail about this diet plan, haha

  • Under my personal control, for some 8 months, my student lost 103 kg of excess weight (from 230 kg to 127 kg)!!! And in parallel this result, which has no analogues in the whole world, was achieved by increasing the total strength and endurance of his body!!!
I clarify: during 8 months no one else in the world was able to lose 103 kg of excess weight and at the same time acquire excellent athletic shape!!!
I offer you a telecast (sorry, not in English), where from 6 min 28 sec those moments are shown when he was 230 kg and when he became 127 kg:

  • I fell and crushed a vertebra on Dec 5, 2016. They made me stand on a scale in the emergency room. It said 350 lbs. Next to the display it said “Max Capacity: 350 lbs”. Uhg. I took off over 100 lbs in a year just by eating 3 healthy meals a day and eliminating added sugar. Previously I used to try to starve myself only to experience panic hunger that drove me to eat a whole pizza or something like that. After the first 120 lbs came off, easily, I hit a hard plateau and I’ve been struggling to get off of it ever since. Still working at it.

  • Guys. lost crazy amounts of weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’ll give you some tips right now. Get a popular weight loss secrets called Custokebon Secrets (look on google search engine). Thanks to it I have lost a ton of weight. I should not even be speaking about it cause I do not want lots of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I’m just in a excellent mood today so I’ll share the wealth haha.

  • I love your channel! I too have lost over 130 lbs naturally and I want to help others who think they cant do it. Just like you have ur awesome!

  • Hi, I started following you over a year ago. Thought I wanted to lose weight but never really stuck with anything. I am now 35 weeks pregnant with twin girls and 40 lbs heavier. I was doing good maintaining 400 lbs but then started gaining 5-10 lbs a week when the shutdown started. My husband got a temporary leave and started keeping me from cleaning and cooking and I was always in bed and he never cooked healthy but I ate what he gave me because I grew up that way. He’s back at work now, I’m still 2 weeks from delivery and thinking hard about my weight because once these babies are born I will have 2 newborns, along with my 5 yo twins, our dog, and my husband (5th child, lol). I got a faucet water filter and I fill a 32 oz bottle alot, so my water intake has gotten better but the food is hard to change. I’m not big on veggies, ate a salad twice a day for two days then fell off wagon when my husband was home because I know he don’t wanna make salads and my feet are swelling awfully for any walking I try to do. I had pre-eclampsia my first pregnancy and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. I ate a salad for 2 weeks after the other food got blah and lost 20 lbs. I wish that could happen again but having other kids at home and my husband working a roulette schedule, I don’t have time to be in hospital that long now. I feel like I would benefit from support too but my husband is stuck eating like a teenager and my kids eat what I cook and other family is too busy. I’m alone for a while today so I think I will take these tips and work on a better plan than a random one. Will also be going back through your videos, thank you for keeping your videos up this long.

  • Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I work grave yard. A driving job. So lately ive been listen to audio books. Live radio broadcast. And youtube videos. Aka binge watching hahahaha. And Ive watched well listen to your entire journey and have been re-inspired. Thank you! I too began my weight lost about 2 years ago using the macro system. And i loved it. I was single then. And then I met my boyfriend whos my guy still today ( 1 1/2 years later) BUT I also was in the happy honey moon state of Love and well we BOTH over ate hahaha. And yep gained 30 pounds basically all that I lost the orginal macro days.. Ive reached my limit when I saw what my scale is saying and gasp holy BEEP. And said nope I must get back. After watching your videos your journey brought back memories of my mini journey and remember come on I can get back on track too. But this time I will add some of the stuff you recommended. Journals, perhaps video diaries, but for sure lots of pictures (which Ive never done before). Thank you again. And expect a new instagram follower too. Xoxo

  • i used to be 140 pounds my curent weight is 199 ive cut out carbs i exercise nothing works my matabulisum is very slow how can i change that
    please help

  • It’s incredible how similar your journey is to mine. When I was in the 270s to 280s I tried to lose weight and couldn’t really do it. I got to a point my life where I was 317 and I realized that I needed to kick it into gear. I got down to 262 but then my grandmother passed away I started a new job where I was working 12 hours a day and I moved out of my parents house in my own apartment which led to a return in some of my old eating habits. Now that the gym is open back up post quarantine I’m going again I’m eating healthier. I’m more than determined to kick the rest of this weight off.

  • New subscriber here! Your videos are so encouraging!! Thanks for the tips!

My biggest struggle is binge eating and staying motivated. Getting myself to workout is not all that hard, but I know I eat too much so the only thing exercise is doing for me is staying at the same weight.
I used to be at my right weight but something happened in my life and I lost all motivation and started binge eating. I only need to lose 70lbs but right now that seems like a lot. But your videos have inspired me to start again!

  • Hello! I’ve just re-started my journey to weight loss and just overall living better. I want to start exercising, but I’ve decided to focus on my nutrition first because in the past I’ve failed due to my eating being so terrible. I made the decision to start tracking my food on MyFitnessPal and hopefully, that will help!

  • You are amazing! Attitude is everything! Thank you for inspiring me and having a good sense of humor makes it easier to be inspired.

  • Hi I’ve been following your videos since 2013 I followed your advice and managed to lose 18kg in 2 months. With this result I will not give up until i Lost 50pounds.

  • How do you come back from a break? I lost 60 pounds but gain 18 like that everyone says I look great still but am so upset since some of my clothes don’t fit I need to get back on track I don’t want to be back to how I was before.

  • I decided to conduct research on this particular diet program “fetching tuti space” (Google it) after a friend informed me about how much fat she shed. After a week of following it, I was able to lose 6 pounds. A week ago, I have a total of 3 workout sessions and a single running exercise..

  • I agree about narrowimg the focus and applying it in stages. I love the idea of that. I did the opposite and started with working out since I enjoy Zumba. Once I got consistent with going to the gym, I started to make the changes to my diet. It is def. a lifestyle change.

  • Lost 80 pounds in a year, went from a 2XL to an S with no to minimum loose skin, all I did i ate around 1500-2000 calories everyday, cut out the junk and worked out a few times a week

  • Do natural popular fat burn secrets like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? We have heard several amazing things about this popular lose weight secrets.

  • You are so pretty and your family is adorable. Weight or not, that man loves you for everything you went thru. I can’t stop looking at you God bless

  • Great advice! I think that one mistake I’ve made in the past has been to try to go all in and change a ton all at once… this time around I’ve done one change at a time and let myself get used to that change before adding something else to my plan. First I cut out night time snacking, then lowered carbs and increased water, then added fasting into the mix. I’ve been able to stick with my plan this time because I haven’t felt overwhelmed with so many changes at once. Thanks for your video!

  • I miss watching your videos!! Please start making content often again. I am starting my health / weight loss journey (again) but I know in my heart this is not just a phase, I am ready to be healthy and see what my body is really capable of.

  • I am on day 10 of changing my life. Today I said No to my Dad for like the first time ever. I said No Dad I am not going to make those brownies for you. I love you, but no. If you really want them you can make them for yourself. But that’s one boundary I do not want to change. I’m on Day 10 of changing my life. It felt kinda awesome. It’s been kinda hard because I haven’t seen any changes in the scale. But I’m hopeful. it took me 25 years to make this body. It’s not going to magically change in 10 days right?

  • This man is quite the inspiration. For people insulting his speech, that’s not the point of this story. Everyone is born differently, and this man made a wonderful transformation

  • Because you started putting on weight after age 6, I’d say your metabolism changed at that time. You are young now. So I would say you are someone who will have to watch your weight for the rest of your life. I’m 58 and raw vegan. I was always skinny as a kid. But now I have to work hard to stay within a healthy weight range. I know that as you age, your metabolism slows down. You will have to keep adjusting your diet as you age to make sure you don’t gain weight.

  • I have a question Marissa. I am helping my mom out with trying to lose weight, and we are doing pretty good. She started out at 300 pounds, so I am using a yoga based workout. My question is this, even though she is losing weight and getting more flexibility, she is still pretty lacking in stamina when she stands up. Will weight loss improve her stamina by the sheer fact that she is carrying less weight, or should we do things to improve it. What is your experience?

  • YOU GUYS….. I swear if you follow Veronica’s plan of Keto, Intermittent fasting, water/apple cider vinegar consumption IT WORKS!!! Started June 1st already down 15.6 lbs in just 2.5 weeks.

  • Did you guys intentionally render this video out and upload it at 0.75x speed and 30fps to bypass the bitrate restrictions on 60fps videos?

  • Ive been really obese my whole life my highest was 400 pounds but when my mom died cuz of her weight proplems at only 42 i knew I had to change I currently weigh 230 right now and im gonna try the low carb diet since i hit a plateau for about 4 months you look great by the way!!

  • Those tips are so helpful! I’ve been doing most and hearing I’m on the right track helped. I’m on a journey with my Husband and I always hear him in the cookie jar at 1am lmao..but I love him to bits.

  • This video was so entertaining to watch — congratulations on the weight loss and getting rid of the diabetes and high blood pressure

  • I actually think I’m going to purchase your book on lifting. I’m super used to cardio because I’ve been a cross country runner for most of my life, so weight lifting Is super new to me. So I’m super lost when it comes to anything else in the gym.

  • I am really confused with how many meals and what times I should eat. I am up and out of the house by 6am and come back by 3pm. Is fasting a good thing to try?

  • Get rid of processed food, eat veg and fruit,I do three days veg etc, then will have a roll and sausage etc on 4 day, then maybe go junk on 7 day,it breaks it up,excercise just get into the routine it does not have to be maximum effort every single day,but just do it 4/5 days, try the maf running training, running or walking at a low heart rate, irs easy and just build up,

  • Josh I can so relate to you. I 40 years plus and am married and have two children. My body type is exactly like yours, I tend to store a lot fat on my torso, chest and mid section. I have had some success with Keto diet which is another form of very low carb and moderate fats are allowed. I have been at it for over a year a few slips but I have managed to stay on track for the better part of the year. I am motivated I was 163.6 kgs which was 360.6 Lbs I am now 142 kgs or 313 lbs. 47.6 Lbs weight loss in total. My issue is no matter how hard I try in the gym or go for days at a time, just I am having one meal a day but my weight won’t budge. In this journey of weight loss the toughest is the weight loss plateaus. My aim was at least a 100 lbs…I have been at it for year and a half and obsessively think about weight loss all the time and have run out options eating really low calories and working out in the gym as much as I can, almost at the brink of major injuries. My weight loss trajectory is like a cursed straight line plateaus rather than a smooth downwards line towards normal human weight area. God bless man your videos can help a lot of people to take the first step many people are need a little inspiration to take that first step. Inspirational videos do help quite a bit

  • hi someone was using my acc a few days ago and left a rlly bad comment i’m rlly sorry this wasn’t me I think ur story is inspiring i’m so sorry

  • I’ve made the heroin addict point to my mother several times. She constantly buys cookies and sweets and says “You don’t have to eat it.” Yeah because you would also put heroin in front of an addict and tell them “You don’t have to shoot up.” I really don’t think I’ll be able to meet my goals until I’m out of this house and away from her. She does everything she can to keep me fat so she can belittle me. My other biggest struggle is I hate eating healthy. Hate it. Nothing healthy tastes good. I look at meal plans and suggestions and they all sound terrible. But I also know I can’t meet my goals eating the way I do now. Sigh.

  • Man, completely hit the nail on the head. When i was in my teens i felt unstoppable! When i got im my 20s i still was feeling great and energetic now in my 30’s (still unbelievable) I have slowed down a lot, I don’t like this feeling it really made me appreciate my youth. My advice for you youngsters is don’t always ” live for the moment “, think of your future also, if you live your life completely recklessly then you’re gonna regret it later. Go to school, get a career, save your money, diet and exercise, and work hard but also enjoy any free time you have with your loved ones! Trust me on this and you will be happier that you made those decisions later in life.

  • My biggest struggle is living with my family. I feel pressured to eat with my family as well as eat what they eat. I’m judged by family for choosing to eat healthier foods because they don’t want to eat what I make. It also doesn’t help that my dad is a deal hunter. So, if he sees cake or cookies or whatever on sale, he’ll buy them but he won’t eat them (he’s diabetic). My family and I have asked him to stop (at least the members that are trying to lose weight, too) but he won’t listen. I don’t really know what to do. We’ve tried putting them in the cabinet but he complains that they go to waste in there, and that is another story on it’s own.

  • You are so right I was at a plateau for a little bit (2 1/2 weeks) weighed myself everyday for a week and was going between 209-217. Finally put the scale up for 2 weeks and I weighed myself last night, 203!! That means I’m down 53 pounds now!!! ‍♀️‍♀️

  • Great suggestions! I’ve lost 60+ lbs and have kept it off for over a year now, but I’m really struggling with the last 10-15 lbs! Nights are the worst! I’m tired, I’m bored and I want sugar! I’m really disciplined during the day, it’s actually not hard for me, but at night I turn into a different person. I haven’t gained anything, but I’m not losing. My husband quit his regime, gained the 30lbs he worked so hard to lose, and every week says he’s starting over, and will be good with me to offer support, but just today he said, “pizza Friday?” Ugh! I listened to your commentary about that, maybe I just need to squirrel myself away and watch nothing but wellness videos every evening! ☹️

  • Love you chica ❤️ You look amazing and always have!!! I’m excited you’re sharing your journey!!! Can’t wait to see you reach your goal!!!

  • This is awesome! Been at it for 2 months 285lbs to 265lbs this video was helpful in seeing the reality of ups and downs as I have also had… this is the content the world needs more of great job

  • Do natural popular fat burn secrets like Custokebon Secrets really work and if so, how effective are they? We have heard several amazing things about this popular fat burn secrets.

  • Many people nowadays are trying to figure out the best way to drop weight. Then again, having the ability to discover a diet plan that will work for you is hard to find. So you have to understand what your getting into before you begin one of those diets. This can provide you enough info to learn whether this is something that is appropriate to your requirements. • Guys. lost a lot of weight does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I’m going to give you some tips now. Look for a popular weight loss system called Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google). Thanks to it I have lost a lot of weight. I probably should not even be talking about it cause I don’t really want lots of other guys out there running the same game but whatever. I am just simply in a great mood right now and so I will share the wealth haha.

  • Thanks for sharing your story! I have currently lost 35lbs and have another 45lbs till my goal of 200lbs. Your story just gave me another needed boost of inspiration to keep going and grinding it out. Thank you!!

  • I’m 16 and I live in a family of unhealthy eaters with no physical consequences. Or they are to old to care about how their body looks. They have open food packages of Oreos chips candy and every snack you could think of. It’s hard, I think about food all the time and it’s almost a impulse to think about it. It’s becoming my new normal. I NEED MORE ELABORATION ON THAT ‍♀️

  • My friend informed me about a diet regime “fetching tuti space” (Google it) and how he shed 14 lbs through it! I`ve tried other diet programs without any enduring results. However, with this one, the weight just comes off..

  • The fact u did it even doe it waz hard n u prbly wanted to give up… U Didn’t n loved how ur kids help n supported u every step of the way!!

  • From all these body transformation videos I’ve seen on YouTube. Weights, healthy single ingredient foods, good sleep and water is the best way to live.

  • If youre reading this the best advice i would give anyone trying to lose weight is dont give it a time period and change your mindset to thinking about it as a lifestyle.

  • I’ve been training for 3 years and the biggest tip I can give is if you go off the rails and eat like crap and not train for a few days don’t thing of it as you failed, only as a stand still and you don’t want that with all the hard work you’ve been putting in.
Recognise that you’ve went off track and bring yourself right back because no ones perfect and that will happen the important part is not to let it bring you back to the mindset of thinking you can’t achieve your goals

  • I used to eat a whole pan pizza all by myself when I was in high school. Today I would probably keel over from a carb overdose. I think a lot of people have a hard time with that. They think that they should be able to eat like they did when they were kids or young adults. But for many people its just not the way it is. I gave up the bread and pasta and most of the sugars that I used to eat and it keeps the weight off. Hard to do… but when pre-diabetes is knocking on your door it gives some good incentive.

  • I’m so glad I found your channel so early into my journey. I began CICO (using Fitbit every day to log calories, water, etc) about a week ago, and have been soda-free for two weeks today! I’ve binged so many of your videos so far lol. I think the narrowing focus tip is incredibly helpful. I’m focusing most on nutrition at this point, but hearing that not focusing on working out right away is not only okay but actually a good(ish) thing helped so much. Working 50 hours a week and trying to dedicate myself to my first real-deal attempt to be healthy is already a big goal. I definitely want to learn more about nutrition not only for weight loss, but just general health which is something I never really let myself think about before now. Can’t wait to watch more of your content:)

  • Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! You look amazing. I know the struggle…it’s hard for me to just complete a week or two. When I tell my husband I’m going on a diet how just rolls his eyes. But now your my inspiration

  • I bought your 8 week beginners guide and I’ve done the first day and about to do the second. It has really helped me even though I’m not a complete beginner. Having a solid plan makes me much more likely to go to the gym. Love your vids btw

  • try to cut out sugar as much as possible, which is easier said then done. drink a lot of water, and i have noticed that if i drink a cup of coffee or a cup of tea in the morning, it will supress my appetite so that I eat a smaller lunch and dinner and the caffine will help me work out longer than normal. i walk my dog every day which has helped prevent me from getting fat but it doesn’t do enough to build muscle so I am trying to level up my workouts. i cook a lot at home and i eat a lot of leafy greens: broccoli, cabbage, spinach, brussel sprouts and kale. if i eat a bad meal like pizza or hotdog with potato chips then i try to balance it out by eating healthy the next mealor use soylent when I’m on the go.

  • Fantastic inspirational video and thank you for sharing your life story with the public.
To all the haters who left nasty comments may bad karma kick you in ass big time

  • u guys r mean the guys sharing his story 2 inspire ppl & u just talk shit about how he’s speaking if u guys don’t like it don’t watch it

  • You’re looking great! I started swimming last summer until mid-March of this year when covid19 struck. I went from 162 to 152 and have managed to maintain it during the shelter in place, even while not exercising, by not going out to restaurants nearly as much as I used to. The JCC outdoor pool just reopened last month. Now, I’m trying to drop 10 more pounds this year by cutting down the sugar I put in my coffee as well as trying to eat more veggies and less junk food (or at least more healthy snacks like celery or popcorn instead of heavily seasoned/fried chips and crackers).

  • Why are people mocking him for the way he’s talking? Have some fucking respect.
Huge respect for your transformation, truly inspirational. Not a lot of people could do the same. Way to go.

  • Great job! I started working out a little over 5 months ago and have dropped 41 lbs. I set small everyday goals and bigger goals. First mayor goal was 25lbs. Then 50 lbs by my 50th birthday which is end of May. 9 lbs to go.

  • Try not to snack to much, and drink lots of water. I replaced soda with sparkling water (took me a while to get used to the taste) and coffee with tea (tea has more caffeine anways)

  • I am a 15 year old boy who at maybe my late 13’s early 14’s i was about 5’11 and 280 pounds. i started my journey at the start of this summer and i got down to 260 and grew but i kinda got stumped in august. the start of school kicked my ass with me balancing football school and my weight loss journey, but i was activated. on my birthday, i was 258 pounds. success, but not enough for me. i went on a diet of eating 1700 calories and i’ve been on and on but at the start of october i went harder for this than anything in my life. 4 weeks after that, i was 249 pounds. and to today, november 2nd, i watched your video and decided to weigh myself after some inspiration. i weighted and saw 240.6 and i was so happy. i thank you and everyone like you for sharing your story and continuing to document it. is till got 50-60 pounds to go, but i’m ready for every single step of it and will be watching the rest of yours as well.

  • I won’t make fun of your speech pattern like most have….please forgive them for they know not what they do. ANYONE looking at this video should be here because it is a story to inspire someone who is feeling lost. Thank you for your courage to change what you did not like. Health is important…you either will live to eat or eat to live. Congratulations and keep on keeping on!

  • Oh yes when I lost weight before. I completely agree don’t focus on the scales they lie! Sometimes its inch loss or before I put on muscle not fat so was heavier. Measurements great idea thank you! Brilliant advice

  • • Plan what you eat on a weekly basis. Stick to that plan. Repeat.
    • Find out what your body needs, go to the doctor to find out if youre insulin resistant, allergic to gluten, etc.
    • Exercise. But dont look at it as a way to eat more later.
    • COPE WITH YOUR EMOTIONS. Dissect them. None of these things will work if you don’t deal with whatever youre going through emotionally/mentally.
    • Be disciplined and be good to yourself. Be gentle with your mind but not baby yourself when things dont go your way.

  • What are some ways to lost a lot of fat? I read lots of great opinions on the net about how Custokebon Secrets can assist you lost a ton of weight. Has anybody tried this popular fat burn secrets?

  • Hey bro i have hit a weight loss Plateau and its very hard but i still continue to hit weights hard, was there a time that happed to yu? And what did yu do to get over the plateau? I started October 2019 and today almost August 2020 i have went from 267 to 222 and my weight keeps going up and down beween 220-223 for past 2-3 months. I used to run alot like 5 miles a day for week-2weeks before taking a break but now i only run every other day 3-5 miles and i have been hitting weights alot too, i used to workout 4-6 hrs a day and now im working out 2-4 hrs a day and i have put in more rest days to give my body rest at least 2-3 days a week to see if that helps but it still hasnt. I dont drink sodas havent had much even when i was big, i drink organic juices now n then, and i eat indian food homemade and its mainly beans and okras and etc yu know the typical indian food, but i am sticking with 2000 calories a day on days i workout so if theres something i should do different please let me know and i will try it. Thank you.

  • Joining the gym tomorrow alone…..doing a group program there. I agree with not having a co-dependent to do the same thing…if they back out…I would too. I will go along under my own steam.

  • I’ve lost a lot of weight but I have a lot of excess skin left and I’m wondering if it will tighten up in time I’ve been told it will I just have to be pacient

  • I found a really good review of the famous Bodyboss workout on Google (I just searched ” Literateowl Bodyboss ” and after hearing all the negatives and the review even including a better/cheaper alternative and progress pics, I’m torn between the two programs. Has anyone else read that review? Which program did you decide to use?

  • Hes tooo cute.thank you so much for your YouTube video s I really appreciate it and you do inspire me narrow the focus great advice and yes guilty of being overwhelmed. Definitely small steps. Mine is cutting out wine!

  • This is me trying again to lose weight but this time I’m coming at it with goals of fitness rather than the scale, if I can do more reps at the gym of a certain machine then I’m making progress, it helps me focus less on the actual weight and how I feeel, I’m still working on the nutrition side of it because I have a binge eating problem so I’m trying my best but I have to try harder

  • Dawg when I was 16 I lost 40 pounds, all I did was fast until 7:00 pm and run. Eat healthy and small portions. Does it seem hard? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. It all depends on how much you want it

  • I got food poisoning for like a week and didn’t eat anything and lost a bit of weight and I kind of want to take something positive from that experience and I want to continue with losing weight, what is honestly the best way, gym? App? Diet? I’m really not sure

  • Hey Marissa, I was wondering when you where going to post a video. Please don’t leave us hanging here. Please put more dance video. Thank you so much for sharing and definitely going to keep in mind on your tips. Have a great weekend love.✨

  • My tip is get a partner. When I lived with my parents, my mom was my partner. She lost 40 lbs I lost 30. When I moved out I gained it back. But I switched gyms and I have a new partner. My bf. We set goals for each other and once they’re hit, we look at how to maintain it.

  • I dont drink soda and my diet is not that bad but my problem is sugar. I’m 49 and have a sweet tooth, I start slowing it down, but then fall back. I also have a sedintary life. I find myself one day ready and energized, I workout for 3 days and then stop. So consistency is my problem. It makes me sad knowing that I could look and feel different but I’m not consistent

  • Congratulations on your weight lost journey. You look great! I’ve been working out for the last 2 months. I want more muscle definition so I focus on lifting weights with a little cardio.

  • I use to watch your channel when you first started your journey. Idk what happened or what made me stop watching but I just came back to your channel after a year or more and I’m so proud of you and the progress you’ve made! I believe when I “stopped” watching your channel was around the time you were gaining back the weight you lost (not the reason I stopped at all). I just remembered your channel and for some reason was unsubscribed, which I NEVER EVER did. But I’m glad I rediscovered you I struggle a lot with weight loss and havent been doing very well in many aspects of life ahaha. I’m also addicted to food, and it’s getting worse. I think rediscovering your channel is a good sign for me.

  • Congratulations on your progress so far! U look amazing, I love how positive and real your are about everything! I need some motivation, watching this was definitely helpful

  • hey Josh, would you advise to follow a sugar and carb free diet? also what rules did you set yourself for meal times? portions sizes, protine ratios etc. TIA:)

  • I’m having such a hard time with the number on the scale. I’ve been exercising 6 days a week mixed cardio and strength, eating well and I lost 4 pounds and then it just stopped for like 3 weeks now. I am breastfeeding but slowly weaning which could be part of it that my body is trying to hold onto weight but I started weighing myself more than once a week and saw the number go up and down so much and it was so discouraging! I’m going to take your advice and weigh myself once a week and just focus on building the habit. And I’m going to buy a tape measure too because I have a feeling I’m building muscle finally because I’ve felt so strong in my workouts! Thanks so much for this please keep the content coming it’s so motivating!!

  • You’re amazing! I keep trying and failing. I work from home on a set schedule and my kitchen is always right there! I see so many conflicting things, people say do this do that then other people say no don’t do that etc etc! Very very overwhelming!

  • Wow, I’m on the same Journey now. And it is hard, but with the Holy Spirit on my side exercising with me, I can do this.. , Thank you for this Wonderful Motivational video, I really needed to see this. I am 10 days into my weight loss journey and counting. I really appreciate your help.

  • on this exact journey. Not doing any weigh in’s, they get me depressed and then I find myself cheating. Just going by clothing size. So far I started at 2xl and now i’m down to XL. I just want to go into a normal store and by the clothes I want and not have to ask, do you have a larger size in the back

  • Bro I went from 247 to 182 and I still have fat in my chest and legs I’m lowering my diet more and more and still can’t get rid of this layer of fat any advice??

This is my journey, This is my story.. Stay until the end to hear my doctor say those magic words “You don’t need medication”

  • Do not buy junk food. If it’s not in the house, no matter how much you crave it, you won’t be having it cause it won’t be there. Srsly, super important

  • Inspiring! Thank you for sharing. I NEED to know where you got that last bathing suit, though! Lol . You look amazing and your attitude was amazing throughout. Such a great journey to behold.

  • Thanks for sharing and great job! My story is very similar to yours and I too have decided to get in control of my weight and overall health. What diet did you decide to use? Any other pointers? Thanks for sharing!

  • March 31st, I weight in at 241lbs, thats my highest but I didnt look it. I lost 20lbs since April 1st… Im at 221, its now April 11th. Drank nothing but water, salads, fish & brown rice, shrimp, lean chicken, baby spinach, fruit & vegetables. If I continue this, I can drop to under 210 maybe even 200 by April 30th. Goal weight is around 180-195, w/ dropping down to 10% body fat. Similar to Tyreek Hill & OBJs combine numbers. Since quarantine, I been using 3 workout apps for Arms, abs, and general weight loss for men, 30 day circuit programs at 15 to 20 minutes each, different drills and exercises every day, go on the bike mostly for 30min when I get up and 20-25 minutes a few hours before bed when I do my ab workouts. Portion control, eat every 4 hours, snacking on triple 0 yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, and a fruit. My muscles are coming in a lil, my April 30th aka day 30, my arms should be bigger, face a lot skinner which I’m seeing now, and stomach flatter. I literally think I can drop 40 by April 30th.

  • damn… i wish i knew how to start this process and just, having the willlingness to do it and i really wanted to have this kind of body but i just don’t know how to..

  • This is perfect timing! I have been struggling with weightloss so much lately! I have been so overwhelmed. I cannot seem to motivate myself to get to the gym. It’s like I have a fear of working out

  • I’m happy for you. But remember that we need to love one another for who we are. No matter what our size. Being healthy is more important then what the scale says. You can eat whatever you want, just in moderation and not every day. Get as much exercise as you can, by walking or doing housework, etc. And leave the rest up to God and time. That’s all you need to know.

  • Hi, struggling with calories and carbs. What is your approximate carbs and calories. I’m active 4-5 days. I’m 5’11 at 225lbs. 44yrs. Can you help, thank you!

  • Hi!!! I’m starting a Weightloss channel! Please check my first super awkward video! I promise I’ll do better and longer videos! Please support my channel!

  • I’m starting my journey today. Right now I feel like a loser,I feel like everyone my age is leaving me behind in the dust,I feel like I’m not maximizing my potential even to the slightest. Enough is enough! I’m not motivated,I’m just tired of being miserable all the time. 310 5’6,but very athletic surprisingly. LETS GO!

  • Hey Josh, great story. Just wondering how you got rid of the excess skin that comes with losing a lot of weight. Better to have loose skin than a lot of fat, of course, but how did you get rid of it?

  • It’s scary that people need a buzzfeed video to tell them how to lose weight. Obviously, some people have to have a diet tailored to their specific needs, but 90% of people just need to eat less calories. That’s the simple answer that will work for the overwhelming majority… and the most realistic as far as sticking to. But the more convoluted the topic is, the more videos and articles can be made about the subject. I’ve lost 80lbs in about 8 months by literally eating an amount of calories a day that’s lower than what my body burns. And when I was fat, I totally understood if I stopped stuffing my face, I would absolutely lose weight.

  • Totally relate to his eating habits…and it’s so easy for me to have a good workout (even cardio…the most ironic one to cave afterwards to cravings) and than “reward” myself with enough calories to well outweigh the workout…and then it’s time for the next meal. It just always adds up to more than I need. Thanks for sharing!!

  • I enjoyed the video. I’m so proud of you. Keep striving girl you got this. You definitely inspire me to be more motivated. You look awesome but you were always a pretty and confident person. Take care and keep in touch

  • Come on guys don’t be hateful towards him whatsoever.. I mean what the hell? A guy wants to better his life and share his story and all you’re gonna do is make fun of him? Sad sad stuff and world. It takes discipline and will power to do what he did. Hopefully some of you will grow up and mature. Some of you say he’s slow and what not. But it doesn’t take much of a brain to make fun of someone. So spread love and not hate, try that.

  • You look amazing!! As a first time expecting mother I must say I’m a bit nervous about my post baby body, but this video reminds me that I have a choice!! ❤️

  • Thank you for your experience… My daughter and I started keto and has been a challenge… she lost 6 and I lost 12 in our first week which has motivated us to keep going and I have been watching other videos for motivation and learning… keep up the good work you look

  • 1.Calculate your BMR (calories you need daily to stay at current weight)
    2. Mine is currently 2300cal so I take in 1800cal (500cal deficit) this will equal approx 1lb a week loss
    3. Workout, mixture of cardio and weights, nothing too crazy
    4. At some point your body may plateau on this deficit so either reduce calories again or increase calories and increase workout!
    5. Take photos weekly and date stamp them and record weight at that time, this is great for tracking and motivating the process

  • Hello and thank you for this great video and congratulations. You look fantastic. You mentioned at one point that you did the Tim Ferris diet But in the background of the video there was a pop up that you strongly do not recommend doing this diet but you never said why. I was just curious why you advised us against it because I have this same book collecting dust. Thanks!

  • Thank you for these tips I’ve been trying to lose weight but I did lose some but I kept telling myself I can’t do this because it’s too hard. Love you guys❤

    A few tips from a Dietitian’s perspective:
cook your own meals, try to purchase only 1-ingredient foods, large glass of water upon waking, stay consistent, but it’s okay to have moments of weakness just don’t let those moments snowball, and enjoy the process

  • You are very strong person, thank you for showing us your success story.
I really love how your family take care and support you and also how they participate in your change of life, I send you lots of blessings ❤️❤️❤️ oh and I love your attitude

  • I obviously don’t know you but with all due respect I am proud of you. Keep up the great work and may I also say the love and support from your family is amazing. God Bless.

  • You mentioned the detox when you started eating healthy, but there is also the terrible feeling when you go too far off plan and your body is soooo mad. It helps keep me in check that’s for sure! Also makes me feel better about food I usually eat as obviously my body much prefers it!

  • Changing habits is the only thing that works longterm. It’s the hardest part. I had to throw away bread-based snacks, mayo, sweet and alcohol drinks, sweets, fast food. And had to start working out 6 days a week. Keep my daily calorie intake under 2000 cal. In addition, I had to learn how to prepare different more healthier food. I lost almost 20 kg in the span of half a year from 100 kg to 82 kg. And I’m continuing to improve myself. Now it became some sort of a hobby.

  • Hey Marissa! So I’m just looking for motivation, I’ve been pretty down on myself and I also am always wanting to eat a bunch of food. I have a school dance coming up so I want to get fit for that, but even more than that I want to just live a healthy life but I always feel so lazy. It would mean the world to me if you actually saw my comment and responded:) I love your videos and you are a great inspiration to me!

  • I do intermittent fasting 16 hours from 6pm-10am and drink one lemonade a day best in morning, watching what I eat most times ie. greens, eggs, fish, healthier cheeses, losing average 2kg a week and this is without exercise.

  • wow thank you your kids are such a support keep on going keep up date. your really deserve to e very proud of your hard work just keep it for life. keep us up dated

  • I’m 31 now and my weightloss journey has been on going since I was 12 years old or so. I have gone from overweight to small in size over and over. But everytime the weight goes up, it’s more and more and more. Now I’m the biggest I’ve been in my life and I just want to take the power back! I cant accept that this I’d just “my adult size” you have been a huge motivation. I just have to find it now within myself.
