If you don’t work with a trainer, how are you supposed to know if, say, your form is spot on, or whether your workout routine matches. Whether you’re training for an event or just seriously on that #fitnessgrind, it is easy to get caught up in focusing on when, where, and what your next workout is.

    I just moved to a new area and don’t know anyone, and I work from home. I would love to find somebody to work out with but I don’t know anyone yet.

  • maybe its because its quarantine, but i just don’t feel satisfied with my workouts. ive developed unhealthy habits, like starving myself and then binging, checking my weight 3 or more times a day, looking at my body and feeling parts of it thinking like “i feel like my arms have gotten fatter” or “my thighs look bigger”. even after i workout, i just think like “i couldve done more” because, i don’t get that euphoric feeling. does anyone have any tips or guidance?

  • Man,,,,,the more I’m trying to learn, the more confused I get! It seems like there is SO MUCH to learn that I’ll never understand! More than half of the terms you talked about I’ve never heard of..and since I can’t afford a trainer, it feels like I’m fated to make major mistakes

  • Smiles: I thought she gave really good tips; I really don’t need motivation, because I agree with what she said( working out feels really good) sure, I would be sore, but I feel amazing after a two and a half hour work out: yes, I do that every day

  • 1) get your macros and calories every day, even your rest days
    2) get enough sleep
    3) workout 2-4 times per week
    4) give each muscle group 48 hours to recover
    5) always progressive overload, try to add a rep to your exercise every time you do it (ex 6-8 reps) and when you get to 8, go back down to 6 except you add more weight and so on
    6) always reach complete muscle failure
    7) understand that different rep ranges are meant for different goals and you need to find out which rep range is best for you
    8) just do 3 or 4 sets for per 1 exersise
    9) know that there are different tempos for certain rep ranges
    10) do about 2 exercises per muscle group in a workout
    11) stick to mostly compound exercises
    12) figure out which type of working out your body reacts to the best
    13) in order to gain muscle you must be gaining some fat in the process
    14) do free range exercises and full range of motion
    15) ALWAYS ALWAYS ALLLLLWAYYYYYS keep track of your daily foods on an app like “lose it” or “my fitness pal” and track you progress. Pick a day to weigh yourself every morning after you piss but before you eat. You should gain about 1.5 lbs of wight per week

Time flys when you have fun but if you keep staring at the clock the more slower it gets and, like you get me?, What I’m saying is it’s like loosing weight, keep looking at that scale and the slower it is to reach your level ya know? But when you ditch the scale you become more motivated because you are not focused on the pounds but on how you look and feel.     I am a litte bit chubby, so back when the gym was open, I felt like I didn’t fit in the area and ended up doing a lot of cardio, but I really want to try weights.

For no one can express or receive love or any other desired emotion in its entirety if the don’t know themselves.     Considering the simple logic if life is not free, why the hell would death be any cheaper? It’s not the question the common, basic, average, normal man or woman may be able to wonder is what is the spiritual cost to one’s own soul and spirit for freely living dying off having only used the smallest percentage of a fraction of the true potential they are first born with. Not to add insult to injury for the last hundred and 50 years or so the mass majority of the population has been living and dying yielding the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested since the beginning of life only getting worse. And that has nothing to do with everybodys so-called charming personality and everything to do with the standards of quality pertaining to our air, water, foods, landscapes, working/living environment, every day home products, habitats, and ecosystems. Which is ignorant beyond retarded (no offense to any disabled people.) When you consider for the last 490 years Give or take we have had the manpower woman influence or vice versa to have created clean high paying jobs from coast-to-coast globally that would improve upon and maintain the quality of our life in such a manner.

    That the mass majority of the population from coast-to-coast globally would naturally, gradually, and systematically start becoming stronger, smarter, healthier, happier, better off physically, mentally, and financially possibly spiritually then the previous generation. Now I would like to resurrect the wish and prayer I made prior to my 8th birthday which was to be held spiritually accountable to the statements I proclaim to the way I’m living personally and professionally. I guarantee you never see or hear another body, man or woman in power, persons of legal, religious authority, or leaders ever freely validate the statements they proclaim with that level of certainty one reason they don’t have the best interest of the majority of the population’s needs at heart a another reason could be they cum from a bloodline of cowards or simply have a lifestyle that suggests, confirms, and validates them as being feebleminded physically inadequate submissive subservient which it doesn’t get any worse than that. One is genetically inherited and the other is a simple generic learned behavior. Quite possible to be a combination of these worst-case scenarios nonetheless either way it is physically, mentally, and spiritually useless to freely live and die in such a low quality manner.

    Especially if that ignorant stupidity, weak, lonely desperation stems from being soft, lazy, out of shape, over fed, undernourished, overworked, and underpaid with a dirty low-paying job that comes from outdated power sources, inferior materials, poisonous, toxic substances, pesticides, and chemicals that never change their killing composition. Which means simpletons whether it is a solid, liquid, or burnt off into our airways atmosphere as a vapor it is always going to be poisonous, debilitating, and deadly to the body at the same time polluting, corrupting, and devastating to mother Earth and all the various different forms of life that live within this world. There is no cash profit to be made in the demise of the planet. Thanks to those dirty low-paying jobs we are in the mist of environmental financial global collapse. The good news souls and spirits have paid out are picking up the tab on the end results of those dirty low-paying jobs. The even better news that the common, basic, average, normal man woman may be able to comprehend his souls and spirits have been are being managed, directed, maintained, and implemented with all the disease, sickness, illness, pain, suffering, injury, abuse, neglect, hunger, addiction, sadness, anger, and hyperaggressive violence. That has been allowed to occur manifesting throughout the history of mankind into what it is today thanks to people like Donald Trump who have the false belief if the mass majority of the population is at their worst they will feel less afraid inferior to the true potentials of love, honor, and the creation of life.   • I love working out. This worst part is getting up and turning of the series your watching or getting up out of bed. But like once i start releasing those endorphins I just don’t want to stop. I always try to workout of my period too and I literally never get cramp.

  • Great Video you really are amazing in everything that you do. I’ve been pushing myself hard for many years. Recently the last 6 weeks run me right down and so I needed to take some days off and catch up on sleep etc etc. and reassess where I’m at and what I’m doing. Just bought your Home Reload and Build guides. I’m doing Home Reload (Day 2 was today) and I’ll maybe add in or move over to build as although I don’t go to a Gym I have lots of kit in my home gym and want to get stronger. But I love working out at a less rushed pace and finishing the workout not huffing and puffing is something very new to me so I’m trying to take a leaf out of your book, literally lol and see if I can get better and stronger without killing myself off.   • Important thing about working out that people forget is that if you do it to “fix yourself” you should sort out your mental problems first. The general endorphin release that you usually get from working out will tend to MASK not HEAL your mental disorders and they will have more room to get bigger and more dangerous. All those people that claim that physical exercise was tremendous metal help for them are having serious mental issues that are just deferred to surface later. BEWARE of all those self-proclaimed “just work out” gurus.

  • For me I can do a high intensity workouts everyday
    If I feel unmotivated from the program/challenge
    I do 1 high intensity and 1 ab workouts from someone else

  • I hate going to the gym. Not because of laziness, because it’s boring I prefer outdoor activities to stay fit. Lifting heavy objects is the most braindead activity one can do.

  • This literally made me cry, I have been constantly anxious all day everyday, feeling like I never did enough exercise, never taking a rest day and constantly feeling guilty that I did not push myself hard enough, even when I was sweaty, out of breath and shaky.. But when she said that you have to focus on the improvement exercising has to your life and you need to feel happy and not let it take over your life so you can enjoy all the other things life has to offer.. this hit really hard, and I really needed to hear that thank you

  • I did a 30min HIIT workout and wasnt able to finish it because I was already feeling nauseous and feeling like I was literally gonna vomit aside from the raised heartrate.

  • I’ve had this whole week off except Wednesday to train my legs. I trained 7 days the week before and overtrained my shoulder like an idiot. My should still hurts I hope it’s on for Monday I feel super restless without training �� Just subbed too I’ve been learning alot from you with regards rings

  • I hated running, I kept cramping up and my legs kept telling me to stop. But I ran as much as I could for about a month because I was motivated to improve. I’m currently in my second month of running and I’ve seen a major improvement in my cardio and my ability to go long distances without a break. The human body is fascinating and its a shame most people aren’t willing to explore their limits.

  • Thank you for sharing. I’m sick of feel that burden to always workout! With all my other responsibilities at work and home working out is just added stress. I hate feeling like I have to go hard at the gym everyday. Maybe I will do something low intensity like yoga. I actually feel that getting into yoga could really help with stress.

  • Well some of us just don’t have the time or the resources to do it. I work 7 days a week. Have for the last 2 years. Only time off is during vacation period. Usually during the 4th of July. 12 hours mon sat. 8 on sunday. Rest of the time I’m with my family. Young children require alot of time obviously. My older kids are always doing their sport etc. All these things plus a few more that i won’t mention. I simply don’t have the time. I live in a pretty rural area. No gyms within 60 miles of here. Not that I could go to start with. Life just wont allow for it for some ppl. Yes I’m overweight. Not much I can do about it though at this point. I gave up sodas and try to eat healthy when i can. Some of us fatties are too busy to bother though.

  • I never seem to feel sore because I have been spreading my workouts across the whole day and night.. eg 100 glute bridges in the morning and then a 10 min run. Few hours later I’ll do resistance band training for eg 20 mins then next hour I’ll do planks on each side for 1 min.. I would probity do an hour and a half in total?? but stretch across 10am to 10pm as well as yoga in between and have been eating a lot re cleaner too.. I can definitely notice the difference in 7 months and the exercises actually feel like a short stress release. I gave up smoking 6 months ago so I have been managing cravings by just doing exercises for 10 mins eg 4 x 20 Reps of donkey kicks, hydrants, clams, Bulgarian squats, sumo squats.. etc. I alway feel the burn with each exercise. I actually love running stoned too, has any one else ever tried it?

  • idk but if you listen closely you can actually apply the basic idea to other things as well, where instead of beating yourself up for a not-so-exhausting study session or work session, you look at how what you did helps your long time plans.

  • If I reached the body shape I want and am not interested in building more muscle or strength and I kept the same workout routine intensity level. 1. Will I still have muscle soreness? 2. Will i gain fat more easily through cheating meals ( as I always watch my diet)? 3. Will My body adapt to the workout level and I will be able to finish it without feeling so exhausted.   • Are you have muscle problem so much for a long run and doctor want to do surgery to solve your problem? But you don’t want because you are so afraid about the surgery operation. Once I heard you talk up form not weights I was sold and have been a regular ever since.   • I can’t tell you how many videos I’ve watched about keeping up your routine/how to stay motivated and this is by far the best, that just made SO much sense! Like you said, sometimes you really do need an extra rest day, but this is so perfect for making sure you don’t make a new habit of NOT working out. And definitely a good recommendation to keep it the same, and to memorize it, so that there’s no excuse that you forgot and have to take time to look it up or make a new one. I know for sure this will work better than whatever I’d been trying haha, so thanks!

  • Well the good news is I can start working out again once we move next month where theres free gym access. Bad news is Covid so they arent letting people use it. I do move around a lot at work, but some weight is piling on for sure. I just cant wait until they let us work out! I can’t do jogging or much outside atm because my body does really bad in heat and I get heat exhaustion easily

  • Great video! Regarding motivation I would like to share a somewhat different angle I read in a book (The confidence gap) which helped me tremendously. In essence: For many of us we claim there is no motivation when we return home from work for example, because we feel exhausted or have other things in mind. We then literally say that there is “no motivation”. That itself is not true the human mind is always motivated to do something. In this case you are just more motivated to relax and watch TV (for example) than to get to workout.

    As a result, most people that struggle to motivate themselves for workout are in fact only motivated when they FEEL LIKE working out. The key is to separate your motivation from your feelings. I’m now sidelined by injuries but at my best I found myself MOST motivated to work out when I LEAST felt like it. It’s like a kick because you conciously are aware what your brain is doing and manage to “beat” it. I have always felt better afterwards. Physically and mentally.

    So:
    1. Dont say you are not motivated, make yourself clear what you are really motivated for in the moment
    2. Separate motivation from how you feel and critically think if you have often only worked out when you felt like it
    3. Act on it and you will actually “feel like it” more often which makes it a lot easier.

I think it’s also causing my body to feel stress and messing with my hormones and digestion. The last couple of days I’ve only walked and stretched along with a few minutes of gentle movement on a mini trampoline to move lymph. I’m excited to see if it helps. ��

  • Thank you for posting this video, even tho I’m seeing it kinda late, always trained calisthenics, and since I moved to England I stopped training. 2 years later, now, I have to join the gym because there are not calistenics parks to train like in Spain. And so I am kinda lost, some machines give me muscle pain, and I am looking for information. I personally dislike the gym because it’s very static, I prefer more military exercising but hey, gotta give it a try, it’s not like I have many options xD.

  • Nice advices. I’d add also two more: having a GOOD program, that has different intensities and basically well designed to prevent this and keep your mind fresh. The other one is an aditional activity that you want to do, but your routine schedule doesn’t allow you to do often. Im talking about some HIIT workout that you want to try, or maybe you want to see how much you last jogging, or the backup training mentioned in the video: endurance training are awesome, a 10 min timer and do the most pull ups you can.

  • I don’t really care what anyone does. I just have a problem with people who have a problem with what I do. If you don’t want to exercise, cool. Keep the speeches about how it doesn’t matter and that it won’t make me live longer and how i can still catch cancer or get hit by a bus to yourself. I don’t do this to live longer. I do it to live better for however much time I do have here. Anytime someone finds out I work out or I try to eat right they have a story about their 98 year old aunt who smoked cigarettes and ate pork everyday until the day they died. I always think to myself, “Maybe they could have lived to 120.” They never mention the uncle who smoked, drank and ate bad who passed at 50.

  • I basically avoided going to the gym for a year due to severe depression, most counter intuitive thing I could have done I know, I just said what’s the fucking point. I got back into it late fall 2019 and was making my gains back, I put up 225 for 8 reps on the bench which isn’t impressive for most but it blew my mind that I did it. Then corona hit and my gyms been closed since mid march:( I got into cardio and some calisthenics like push ups and pull ups but it’s just not the same man. I’m going to find a solution to lift by the end of the week and never fucking stop, lifting literally lifted my depression more than any medication could.

  • I’ve been really enjoying getting into fitness recently and think I experienced my first burnout the other day

    I’d walked 14,000 steps and done a 30 minute work out session… As soon as I finished it was like my body instantly caved… I felt so heavy and tired in the middle of the day, ended up dragging myself to bed to sleep it off and it was so weird, my arms felt like they were so heavy and weighing me down.

  • My backup workout is just doing something fun, it can be having fun with calisthenics rather than training. It can be slacklining, rock climbing or anything that you genuinely enjoy doing and that might even be working out with friends on their routines. I don’t really care, as long as it’s spontaneous and fun it keeps me in the game. For me the main motive is to remind myself why i enjoy training.
    I personally believe that sustainable habits stem from building up enjoyable habits. The things you do daily should be the things you want to do.

  • Honestly I think a lot of adults with the lack of motivation to work out come from white collar jobs where you sit down all day in front of a computer screen or something similar. My friends from college all have this problem as they’ve moved into the tech industry as cubicle workers when they should’ve found something more hands on or blue collar if they wanted to stop working out. I became a brewer and that’s a job that’ll keep you in shape even if you do literally nothing with the rest of your time exercise wise, but I still work out on the side because of the physical and mental stimulation that I get from my job. These poor saps are dealing with depression and lack of motivation because they didn’t plan on getting older and put into jobs that don’t push the body for jack (or the mind in most cases). When 40 hours out of your week are spent sitting and you don’t see a physical outcome in your job, I think it sets up your mind for failure. So for anyone in their early 20’s looking to move into a tech position where you’ll be dealing with coding and programming all damn day, plan on balancing yourself from the get go. This goes for the opposite in blue collar jobs as wellfind something to exercise your mind if you aren’t using your brain enough at work. “Why put off today what you can do today?”

  • Out of all the teachings one may learn here during life is that martial arts is by far the most beneficial, for it can be applied to every other aspect naturally and effortlessly. Martial arts is the fastest and most efficient way for one to learn their bodies capabilities and limitations therefore being able to become physically fit, mentally sound and spiritually balanced allowing them to express physical freedom. Which is key for one to start living up to the pleasure, potential and responsibility of femininity and masculinity at this level of body awareness one naturally actually has a self-control, discipline, loyalty, devotion, appreciation, respect, confidence and joyful determination to validate, confirm and signify that the are being true towards love honor and the creation of life. If one makes a conscious choice to live in accordance to validating love to the degree I mentioned it allows the subconscious to systematically coincide with the soul spirit mother Earth and all the various different forms of life that live within this world in the most efficient way that is humanly possible. Thus yielding the best spiritual kickback for one’s efforts accomplishments experiences. Anything less is feebleminded physically inadequate and submissive subservient which it doesn’t get any worse than that living and dying in that mannerism. For when one lives and dies having neglected the physical freedom they have had available all throughout their life a results in them being recognized internally and externally for all eternity throughout existence as spiritually sexually suppressed. Case closed mercy forgiveness spiritual welfare are not changing those facts protecting carrying compensating any wining souls or spirits that are freely connected to a life that does not do its best to improve upon and maintain the quality of it. You might want to take that point to Heart considering if life is not free why the hell would death be any cheaper it’s not. So don’t miss the deadline on becoming physically fit mentally sound spiritually balanced being able to express physical freedom. Obviously high sources of nutrition will greatly increase one’s physical freedom + formal education maybe some hands-on experience with the most extreme situations nursing homes daycare centers critical care units birthing centers. Group homes, jails, prisons, Army,, Navy Marine core, special forces, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, sports and fitness facilities. Whether you believe are not as secondary to the fact that each and every moment is spiritually accounted for. Obviously if you believe in a higher power form of God goddest then you would want to serve him the best life possible. The sad truth is thanks to a diminished quality of life from coast-to-coast globally people have been living dying for the last hundred 50 years or so to a diminished quality of life resulting in the worst spiritual kickback that has ever been manifested throughout the history of mankind. This diminished quality of life is primarily do to dirty low-paying jobs that come from outdated power sources inferior materials poisonous toxic substances pesticides chemicals that never change their killing composition which means whether it is a solid liquid burnt off into our airways atmosphere as a vapor is always going to be poisonous debilitating deadly to the body. At the same time polluting corrupting devastating to mother Earth and all the various different forms of life that live within this world. There is no profit to be made in the demise of the planet even far worse is the spiritual kickback that is manifested from inhaling petrified death 24 seven drinking using contaminated water using wearing the materials that are made cheap and inferior something like corrosive to the body that’s what happens when you conduct business to the lowest standards of quality which is primarily America China India. In layman’s terms You cannot promote life by doing business with material, resources and substances that have been scientifically classified religiously verified as petrified death or worse which all stem from coal, oil, gas and the chemical industry. It’s not all gloom and doom. For we have the man/woman power to offset maybe even fully compensate all the damage that has been caused from dirty low-paying jobs. And that is with clean high paying jobs from coast-to-coast that improve upon and maintain the quality of our air water foods landscapes working living environment every day home products habitat ecosystem plus the lifestyle I mentioned. The goal is to live in a manner that allows each persons generation to naturally and gradually become stronger smarter healthier happier better off physically mentally financially possibly spiritually then the previous generation. Sad to say even undergoes best case scenario circumstances there is still going to be a percentage of people who freely live and die having only used the smallest percentage of a fraction of the true potential of the were first born with. Now I wish and pray for my soul and spirit to be held spiritually accountable to the statements I proclaim to the way of living personally and professionally. I guarantee you never see hear another body man/ woman in power persons of legal religious authority leaders ever freely validate the statements they proclaim with that level of certainty. One reason they don’t naturally instinctively have the best interest of the majority of the population’s needs at Heart another reason could be they come from a breed of cowards or have a lifestyle that suggests, confirms and validates them as being absent-minded frail body. Is quite possible to be a combination of those two worst-case scenarios. For one is genetic hereditary and the other is a generic learned behavior. Either way it is physically mentally spiritually useless to freely live and die in such a low-quality manner.   • Been lifting since junior year of high school, now I just started running. My damn legs feel like they will fall apart every morning after 3.5 miles on the trail. But nothing feels better than after your done, and the weight falls.

  • I did the first two weeks of the beginner calendar and decided to take one extra rest day bc my hamstrings felt like they were gonna get injured if I didn’t give them a break (I was also doing the 30 day journey to splits calendar so that’s why, Iwas probably overdoing it as a beginner. Don’t be afraid to try the beginner calendar!! It’s great). BUT that one extra day turned into another day, and another, and another… and pretty soon I wasn’t working out at all, I went into a depressive state bc this month is the 1st anniversary of a family tragedy for me so I just stopped caring about my body. I stopped trying to eat healthy, and stopped worrying about hydrating, I haven’t exercised in a month. I’m so disappointed in myself that I didn’t finish and that I STILL have no motivation to start again even though I’m upset at myself for not trying anymore. But, I’m gonna go for a walk tomorrow morning and if I feel ok after that, I’m gonna start from the 1st day of week 2 on the beginner calendar to try to get back into it again. I don’t want to give up this time even though I really don’t even want to start again. I’m still gonna try and the motivation will come later

  • it’s just hard for me, everyone struggles losing weight but it’s the complete opposite for me.. and don’t be one of those people who say “consume more calories than you lose” because it’s not that easy… i literally put myself into a food coma everytime i have enough food in front of me and i never gain ANYTHING literally at all, it honestly makes 0 sense..

    It’s good for your physical and mental health. that’s the main reason one should do it and honestly it’s the only reason I’m still doing it.
    2 years now I worked my ass off 40 min each and every day (no excuses, never!) and my metabolism says “no” to any sicnificant changes on the outside. and I even have a phycial demanding job since then.
    It’s just the way it is.

  • My dad worked out his whole life. He’s suffering severe arthritis. My mom never did any exercise her whole life except knitting, She’s in perfect shape and not sore at all, but can no longer knit because of arthritis. Both are 82.

  • When I don’t feel like training I just start the workout that day with squats and than I’m so pumped I actually want to do my workout again (this is mostly on sundays 8am)

  • But I can show you a picture of my boyfriend when he was younger he was very very big you can’t say that if someone is big there probably using drugs because he was not it actully depends on the size of your body as well he was a 9th grader lifting 450 lbs every highschool around us wanted him to play football for them so you can make anything happen depends on where you build your muscle and how!

  • Hi Heather….your video appeared in my “recommended for you” column. I have completed six Ironman triathlons, during which I trained for 15-18 hours per week. However, since last November I’ve transitioned to doing yoga daily, supplemented by about 20 miles a week of running and sporadic weight work and have noticed only positive effects on my body. Plus, no injuries! I’m also vegan, which helps.

  • The way we used to do this dance full on just for the fun of it at school �� we did and still do that shit. These dances are what made PE fun.

  • tampons are horrible. they are bleached and contain chemicals. they also leave microscopic fibers in your vagina. DONT DO TAMPONS LADIES. also when your uterus is shedding, its not good to stress the body.   • I’ve had a similar experience so I can really relate. I used to practice HIIT 4-6 days a week and it was making me exhausted and super hungry all the time, messing with my hormones, blood sugar, sleep… When I was forced to stop exercising because of an injury and wisdom teeth surgery, I went through a small mental crisis:) But it’s really helped me to find a healthier routine. I now only practice strength training 2 to 3 times a week max, no more cardio. I go for a walk with my dog every day if I can, in nature. I try to stretch regularly. Just be more gentle with my body.   • Of course you were tired and that you were heavy feet if you practiced practically every day. No extreme is good. Three times a week is enough for exercises.
