After seeing the great success and awesome community that has formed over on Art of Manliness, I’m considering creating a message board section of Nerd Fitness. This will be a place where the NF Community (temporary name until we decide on a bad-ass one) to interact with each other, ask questions, post success stories, and really get to know. Message Boards. If Nerd Fitness had a website, would you join it? I’ve seen a few really great message boards, and I’ve seen message boards where everybody yelled at each other, discounted each others’ opinions, and generally made it a hostile environment.

On Monday, we’ll be starting up another 6-Week Challenge on the Nerd Fitness Message Boards, I thought this would be a great opportunity to explain what the heck it is and how it works so you can join us. And it’s free! Free stuff is great. The Six-Week Challenge. Join us on the message boards – 1,390+ people are ready, willing, and able to help you with your quest.

Join the Nerd Fitness Facebook Page – 1600+ others have already done so. Tell your friends. Yup. It is awesome. I have never been more proud or honored to be a part of such a kick-ass movement which is why I’m proud to join the latest Nerd Fitness 6-week challenge that starts today!

You can read all the rules here, but it’s incredibly simple: Join the Nerd Fitness message boards – it’s free. You can find the current challenge subforum here and Rules/FAQ here. Welcome to the boards, soldier! Post your story here, your battle plans, and what you plan on bringing to the table.

58488 ISSUES or anything requiring action from Team Nerd Fitness should go to [email protected] Joining a new community, like trying to join an already established group of friends, can often be scary and difficult. I’m proud to say that whenever new people join the Nerd Fitness community, there are literally dozens of people that post a welcome message to make these newbies feel right at home. You can find the current challenge subforum here and Rules/FAQ here. If this is your first challenge please set up your challenge thread in the LEVEL 1 SUBFORUM.

C heck out the NF Beginner’s Guide, as well as the Video Walkthrough of Your First Challenge. Why I Didn’t Buy Nerd Fitness, And You Shouldn’t Either: Steve, the leader at Nerd Fitness, definitely means well. I love how he admits he’s a nerd who liked fitness, so he decided to combine the two to create sort of a game out of it, and I know he is just trying to help people. The Final Word on the Nerd Fitness Academy: The Nerd Fitness Academy is worth the investment.

In fact the investment of $59 or $99 is so cheap when you consider the costs of gym memberships, personal training, and even supplements or medications. Join the academy I hope you enjoyed reading my nerd fitness academy review.

  • I have a question. You say that pushing your head up during benchpress is bad. But exercise 4 seems to be the same as you showed during benchpress. Can you explain this please?

  • By looking at the comments.. It’s actually a good idea to comment your progress daily, it kinda reminds you to do the exercise with no cheat days. So, I’m gonna right away do this and post the progress regularly.

Day 1: I didn’t really feel the pain everyone felt during the ball exercise. Did 2 reps today. Not much of a change

  • not all nerds are like this, and besides, I know several female nerds, if anything i know more female nerds than i do males. sex and the city isn’t a geek show, and thats the real term, not nerd. nerds focus on academics while geeks watch shows and read comics. game of thrones is geekier due to it not being realistic fiction, and rather being a show about dragons and fictional realms. to understand what type of dragon is in an episode, is geekier to know rather than the type of car. I rest my case.

  • SCM rotates head to the opposite side, so to do stretching you should 1. Extend and/or laterally flex head to the opposite side and 2. Rotate head to THE SAME side. Not like they showed here. Learn anatomy guys.

  • I’m having major pain around my neck and middle part of my back don’t know how to this..whenever I move my head I feel that pain don’t know how to fix this

  • Honestly this sketch wasn’t even funny for me because it hit to close to home, Mostly when it comes to videogames. I have heard guys talking about it and I’ll try to join the conversation and they’ll just act like I’m a idiot and am just a faker and want attention even though I’ve played said game since beta stages then another dude will come along who just bought the game and they act like he is better then me????

  • I think that the real choices on what is nerdy or not is if it is targeted for small children and ends up as something for children and not just something targeted to them. It is probably because people don’t want to be seen as childish or someone that likes the same stuff as small children. This changes if it has a nostalgic element or if it just has a great concept, but children shows rarely have a lore or in depth backstories from what i have seen. Also if it has any fantastical elements. Sci-fi and fantasy or anything else like that is nerdy i think because it has a universe, concepts, monsters, magic, technology, and/or world lore to grow. It is a lot harder to do something like that with a non fantasy setting placed on earth because if you know a lot about the “lore” that is just knowing history, and if you know the characters and backstories then that is kind of just paying attention to the media it came from. It also needs to have a deep lore with a depth of different topics, knowing the birthdays of every beanie baby is a big feat but once you’ve learned that there isn’t much else, you cant even have much of a discussion on dates. You need something that can be talked about at length too, if you cant make a conversation with the knowledge you have about a subject then there isn’t much point in knowing it other than just having the knowledge. I know for me talking about the lore of some of my favorite franchises is a good talking point especially if you are talking to another fan. This isn’t really me taking a side or anything it is just my theory on why certain things get considered nerdy while others don’t, feel free to reply with any other insight or things ive gotten wrong.

  • Omg this vid is my life litrley

    1. I can’t spell
    2.I’m kinda good at math
    3.I think I have D
4.I have a lower level on the spelling test than ever one else
    5.I have a “special class”
6.I did BOTB (battle of the books)
(But I didn’t even read the books)

    Cuz I’m lazy

  • Im here to see if i can be allowed to be a doctor who nerd, um, most of my life is perfecting my tardis memorabilia, and my inanimate animate telephone fetish

  • That called being a kinetic learner and classifies as a disability but actually is a good skills for cops psychologist and trans doctors.

  • james i suck at spelling and i spell things teribble just like you im happy that im not alone
Oh also i suck at prenounsing words even more than you (i said my spelling is bad)

  • Gamer community is just like that. If you play male-oriented games, you just want guys to like you. If you play something neutral, you’re a casual. But god forbid you play anything with pink in it, little girl sticker right on your forehead

  • I amno subscribing because the way yout each is too difficult for me to follow pause and rember the reps of each movement, too bad, for me.thanks, but…

  • Idk geek culture is less about knowing a lot about subjects and more about knowing a lot about things that get you bullied for which is why liking my little pony if your a dude is geeky cause the target audience are little girls and your an 33yr old adult male. See that gets you bullied BUT if your a girl or woman then you don’t really get bullied for those things like how geeks get bullied for having action figures but girls don’t get bullied for liking Barbie.
But don’t get me wrong girls can still be geeky like by doing geeky things that don’t go by gender (video games Star Wars reading comics liking anime using pop-culture references in conversations and many more)
Idk just feel like this skit is pointing towards a glass ceiling that isn’t really there.
Basically anything the traditional jock would make fun of you for is geeky

  • I can stretch daily but I am not sure about practicing chin tucks daily. The chin tuck works muscles: Should you not rest the muscles for 24-48 hours after training them like other strength training exercises like bicep curls or squats (for quads)? I do have neck pain and I notice that when I do some of the exercises, it helps me. But I would appreciate a clarification on this question of resting after exercise.

  • The only kind of girl that can be a nerd is the main protagonist in a romance Disney film where they take off their glasses at the end and are all the sudden beautiful.

  • I know this comment is posted to years after the video came out. And that’s because I just moved to a school that dose do battle of the books. But instead it’s against two schools and the winning school gets a trophy. ( I did watch this video once it came out. This is like my tenth time watching ot)

  • The SJW button hit close to home.
Another related thing is when guys like books or movies they’re ‘nerds’ or ‘geeks’ but if you’re a woman you’re a ‘fan-girl’ with all the negative connotations that carries.

  • I can’t do the second stretch; well, I can but it doesn’t stretch anything… it just feels sore behind my ears and the back of my neck… please tell me what to do; it’s really frustrating.
Edit: it seems to only work on my right side but for my left (turning my head to the left in the stretch) it just hurts and doesn’t stretch…

  • Ms.cool-aid/ok class spell Wednesday
    James/ I don’t know who’s to spell Wednesday
    Mrs/cool-aid.sound it out
    James/oh ok
    Mrs cool-aid/so like this
    Mrs cool-aid/no James it’s wed-nes-day
    James/you said spell it out

  • Okay to be fair I used to follow the whole MLP thing and it definitely qualifies as nerdy.
Ever seen the extended universe with the IDW comics? That shit goes wild

  • Im not a SJW but i just define geekiness as it has lore based on adventures or abilities that cannot happen in the reality at all and the viewer must know all this lore and difference the cannon one among it. So My Little Pony girl is in, Barbie girls is in (if barbie has magic or something not real), etc. Geek worlds are based on the premise of “reality getaway”, so a real world story cannot be geek because you are not escaping reality, you are just telling an anecdote.
I hate those gatekeepers who dont know what are they talking about and only looks at their own navels.

  • CoNT: now we just have to wait for the council of geeks to finish their judging
Woman: I would like to know if I’m qualified to be a Harry Potter geek
    CoG: your a geek
    CoNT= Council of Nerdy Things

  • Exactly what happened to me, I had Speech therapy and Physical Therapy; Then speech ended; Probably 2 years later Physical Therapy ended(I love going to both because I got to miss out on class and do fun activities.):))

  • You should make another one where the woman actually likes the stuff that the judges consider nerdy but they don’t believe her and think she’s only there for the “hot guys” and the “romance” and whatnot and never a “true fan of the depth of the story and characters”.

  • considering I know the death stars charge up times and many possible bendings and theoretical ways all elements could bloodbend and several theories about how avatar the last air bender is in the future I think I can classify myself as a nerd.

  • I thought I had throat cancer… not so sure yet but that look like mine. I notice my neck getting pushed outward. I’m always looking down. I never have good sitting or walking posture, it’s starting to effect my talking.

  • This is in fact covering geeks. Nerds strive for academic knowledge over a wide variety of subjects. It may have been more accurate for the council to call her a dork based upon their disagreement regarding the nature of the subject material

  • Was this video supposed to come out in 2009? This is a stereotype of people who were into pop culture that has long passed.
After Bronies and rising popularity cuter Pokémon, this video feels so dated

  • I have seen multiple videos with the chin tuck. Most say to push your head straight back, but some seem to bend forward like this video. Is one method better than the other? Thanks for the video! It’s very helpful.

  • I could attest to the potency of this treatment solution for PE. It took only a small amount of time for my wife to notice the development with my performance and I also go longer now. My spouse has been content the last 3 times, which is greater than I even hoped for. I am not sure this guide will work, but you can get the guide by Google. It calls Thomas Camonρez
    good day

  • In every case, there’s is a why of why girls are not usually recognized as nerds. Because they’ve been calling us nerds “loosers” for decades. Now you gotta pay.

  • There was drastic development as soon as I read about this PE treatment solution. In the past, I could only last less than a minute on the first penetration but my partner now reaches climax when we have sex. It is good if you can solve your problem with this pe guide, research on Google. The name is Thomas Camonρez
    good day

  • and IT WAS FUN BECUSE WE HAD A PIZZZZZZZZAA PARTYYYYYYYYY TBH I AM NOT LYING

and it wasted my learning time with my real teacher

  • Thing is, nerd shit is stuff that could get you beat up in school for liking. No one will make fun of you for liking Sex in the City.

  • After a while of bad posture you start to notice your upper back and sometimes shoulder blades start to hurt. With the shoulder blades it usually feels like a pinching. As if the muscle near your scapula is folding underneath it.
