The first step to eating more vegetables is figuring out the easiest, tastiest way for you to enjoy them. If you’re not a veggie connoisseur, keep it simple. Blend spinach or kale into a smoothie, Newgent suggests, or sautée chopped bell pepper and onion with scrambled eggs or brown rice.

Increase Veggie Crispness – Keep veggies crisp by storing them in a small amount of filtered water. This works especially well for radishes, asparagus spears, celery, carrot and jicama sticks. Take a small glass jar or container and place the veggies upright in about an inch of filtered water. Here are 4 simple tips that will help you get more fruits and veggies in your diet! 4 Ways To Eat More Fruits & Veggies.

1. Start Your Day With A Fruit & Veggie Smoothie. Starting your day with a homemade smoothie is an easy way to get a jump start on your daily fruit and veggie intake. • Brightly Colored Veggies:Color signals the presence of antioxidants — and when a vegetable has color all the way through, antioxidant concentration is the highest.

Go green with asparagus, cabbage, and peas. Red options include peppers, radicchio, and red cabbage. So, I wanted to share what I’ve found helps me eat more vegetables, even when I don’t feel like eating them. (Disclaimer: I’m not a nutritionist; I’m just sharing what works for me.) 1. I make green smoothies.

This is the top way I make sure I’m getting in my veggies. Eat More Veggies. Now that you’ve improved your vegetable prep skills with our Produce Prep Guide and can chop them like a pro, it’s going to be so much easier to convince yourself to cook up more veggies, which we know are essential for a healthy life. All that’s needed to cook and eat healthy are to learn and master some simple veggie cooking techniques. Making a fruit and vegetable smoothie is one of the most delicious ways to eat more vegetables.

Choose 2-3 fruits and 1-2 vegetables and combine them in a blender. The sweetness of the fruits will overpower any veggie taste that may be objectionable on their own. 5. It’s found abundantly in fruits and vegetables like bananas, peaches, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, tomatoes and potatoes. If you’re eating a diet without fruits and vegetables, you could get your potassium from yogurt, milk or fish, but it’s.

One winning strategy is to add fruits and veggies to dishes your family already likes. Slip finely chopped veggies into kid-pleasers like spaghetti sauce, tuna salad, and chicken soup. Shred carrot.

Buy frozen mixed veggies to add to soups (homemade or canned for a boost in nutrition) or frozen mixed peppers and onions to add to chicken for tacos or fajitas. My current personal favorite is roasting a pound of frozen Brussels sprouts to eat all week long. Replace noodles with veggies.

Oh zoodles.how you have changed the world!

  • Not only that I don’t like greens they always come heavily packaged for some reasons which just makes me hate the thought of even buying it. It’s my health or the enviroment I gotta decide.

  • EMILY. I LOVE YOUR DRY WONDERFUL HUMOR why isn’t your channel more popular you’re so amazing. I constantly binge watch your videos when I want to get happy. Ugh you’re 20/10 girl

  • Then God said: “Here I have given to you every seed-bearing plant that is on the entire earth and every tree with seed-bearing fruit. Let them serve as food for you And to every wild animal of the earth and to every flying creature of the heavens and to everything moving on the earth in which there is life, I have given all green vegetation for food.” And it was so

  • I put greens in chocolate almond milk. I blend it together so they are so tiny I can’t tell they are there. and I get a nice little glass of chocolate milk

  • I don’t eat many greens because they are hella expensive. We have arugula, baby spinach and lettuce. And lettuce often is cheaper so I and up eat it sometimes. Kale? No one knew about it till last year. And now he sometimes have it in one store in the whole city and it costs like a car:) Anyway, I love arugula and spinach and could eat them just as they are

  • omgdfdj i love this video so much. it’s helpful & hilarious, you said something’s seriously & that just made it more funny.

  • My favourite easy green smoothie is pineapple, frozen banana and spinach. Really cheap and delicious. You can barely taste the spinach

  • I’m just cruising through the vegan/no waste side of the ‘Tube on double speed at 2 am,
but I can’t pass by this girl without subscribing oml she is so casually funny and charismatic I love it so much!

  • Yoo this woulda been so helpful back when I lived in a place where greens were dirt cheap but I didn’t buy them bc I had no idea how to use them:0 still love the video though

  • The struggle with green smoothies is real. I once tried one and it wasn’t nice so I tried to season it with salt and pepper to give some better flavor. Let me tell you… it didn’t help. Sad waste of a good avocado half

  • What kind of air fryer do you use Hannah? A good portion of your recipes call for it and I’m looking to invest in one! I love how much you use your instant pot, as I’ve been obsessed with mine too!:) thanks for all your helpful videos!

  • omg in love with this channel now:D you’re so chill and so relatable! (some channels make it seem like eating like a human trash bag sometimes is the worst thing ever) I feel so good seeing another vegan/vegetarian eat like me:) thanks! looking forward to more vids p.s. totally love you’re quirks and cuteness, don’t change you’re awko-ness either, i relate hard

  • you probably already answered a question like this before but idk i haven’t been watching your videos that long so i haven’t seen you address it ANYWAY i just watched one of your older videos and you said that you used to have a really shitty diet and didn’t eat many vegetables and stuff. i’m exactly the same way, i’m vegetarian (and trying to cut other animal products out of my life but i definitely can’t go full vegan anytime soon) but i’m super unhealthy and i’m working on eating more fruits and veggies… the thing is i HATE most veggies and even cutting them up small and including them in other foods so they’re not as noticeable makes me feel sort of sick:/ i’m wondering if you started to like them more over time (i’m 18 so i feel like that train already left the station but i still have some hope i’ll warm up to them a little more) and/or if you can suggest any veggies that are sort of tasteless or have like… a subtle taste? for instance i tried edamame for the first time tonight and i loved it because it didn’t taste like much of anything… tysm!!!

  • I love your personality so much. The way you talk sometimes reminds me a bit of Morty from Rick and Morty, I hope this isnt offensive!

  • y’all cook up a fuck ton of spinach with some water until the water is like gone and the spinach is like soft, add a fuck ton of garlic and salt and slap it onto some of that thin lookin dough and roll it up into cylinder looking things. bake until crispy and ORGASMIC.

  • I also reccomend superfood powder for smoothies I think it tastes really good also quite a bit cheaper than greens powder. Oh and i know you already did a fast food video but would you be able to do a longer one with more places as well as other foods besides breakfast?

  • I don’t eat many greens because they are hella expensive. We have arugula, baby spinach and lettuce. And lettuce often is cheaper so I and up eat it sometimes. Kale? No one knew about it till last year. And now he sometimes have it in one store in the whole city and it costs like a car:) Anyway, I love arugula and spinach and could eat them just as they are

  • Usually mushrooms go bad after the 2nd day. How can you store that for up to 5 days? How can you store your salad without using plastic?

  • The spinach idea was the best tip ever!!! Thank you so much, I did something similar as you prep the lettuce but you using a towel is so clever (I struggle when it comes to waste papel). Fiest video, Im definelly subscribing

  • great video, Vanessa, thank you! I agree with you, do the prep as soon as you get the veggies, before throwing them in the fridge! Hope you also make a meal prep for meat/chicken! Cheers from Germany!

  • Hi Hannah! Those spring rolls look so fresh and tasty! Can you post a link so I can pick up that shredder? It makes the most perfect shredded veggies that I’ve ever seen. Thanks so much for another great video with so many delicious, simple recipes!:)

  • Hey, I was wondering if you have heard of this weight loss program before?

    https://tinyurl.com/yyeetpuv

It looks like a great program to help people lose weight. I was just looking for some options before I made my decision. By the way, I love the content you have been posting lately!

  • Stay away from processed meat. Fresh fatty meat is where it’s at. Eat lots of greens, some nuts and seeds, maybe a fruit or a handful of berries or a tuber on occasion… If we lived in the wild, this is what we would be doing. We would be naturally low carb probably 8 months out of the year.

  • the only problem here is, American veggies are chemically engineered and is somewhat processed. veggies makes u fat becuz they got fatty hormones in it to get the veggie large. u mine as well call it fake veggie.

  • Don’t let the anti meat propaganda fool you. We actually thrive on animal products as long as they are derived from sustainable sources such as farms. Dietary cholesterol doesn’t affect serum cholesterol and saturated fats are actually important for hormone production as many rather new studies thoroughly proved. Oxidized LDL Cholesterol and a lack of vitamin K2 is the reason for heart disease. Also most vitamins and minerals are more bioavailable from animal sources and meat causes least immune responses in the body compared to any other foods. Some important essential nutrients are exclusive to animal products only. Vegetable oils are very omega 6 heavy and oxidize very quickly especially when heated, hence the trans fat epidemic… Also vegetables don’t simply equal health. While there are a ton of healthy vegetables, many of them are a compromise between having a good source of micronutrients and having anti nutrients which may affect the one person more than the other (which may be a reason why so many people see a decline in the symptoms of arthritis when doing a ketogenic diet). I was never better than on a meat based diet with just some plant foods on top…

  • Vegans be like, MCDONALDS IS BAD FOR YOU!!!! Vegans be like MCDONALDS DOES NOT USE REAL MEAT! Mcdonalds be like 99% vegetarian then.

  • I agree with the video, but although olive oil is the healthiest oil, whole plant foods are the healthiest. The healthiest fats come from whole foods, like avocados, nuts, and seeds. Oil is a processed food.

  • THANK YOU so much for this. My next 5 weeks of uni are going to be far much more wholesome as a result of new-found inspiration!!!!

  • Processed or unprocessed,   vegetables and fruits are unhealthy for you.    Processed or unprocessed, meat and all animal products are good for you. This is now a fact.   The Mayo Clinic needs to be sued for its frauds.   Maybe even criminal charges for it’s leaders.

  • Not true. Eating sugar and carbs kill you. You have a plant base diet you are sick weak and with high insulin levels. This suckers want people dead! Everything he said gives you diabetes! 5 grade science. Carbs transform into glucose and higher-ups your insulin. The liver and brain feeds on fats. They want everyone with Alzheimer ‍♀️

  • Vegetables are also full of antinutrients, toxins that damage your gut, pesticides, hormone disturbers etc.. I’m sick and tired of hearing this lie that veggies are good for you and meat is bad for you. Well ofc processed meat is bad for you or the meat that was raised with antibiotics and hormones but there is nothing wrong with pasture raised organic meat and it’s good for you

  • MEAT is not the problem, PROCESSED MEAT and PROCESSED FOODS are the problem. Loaded with sugar. Sugar=root of dietary evil in chronic disease. Sugar lobby is much more influential than you think.

  • This is the opposite of what is true…so sad that this is what has become of the mayo clinic…taking money from lobbies and politicians and barking out their advertising as official “science”…absolutely disgusting.

  • Thank you for watching i hope you enjoyed the video! Check out my $10 LETS GET SAUCY Book Here with over 55 vegan sauce recipes https://highcarbhannah.co/recipe-books/

  • I love all of these recipes! Everything that you cook is really accessible, thank you for sharing! You. Are a force for good out here, girl! I’m super surprised that the food network isn’t, like, beating down your door to offer you a show seriously!

  • So far, I have tried the lemon pepper asparagus and everyone in my family (including my kiddo who dislikes asparagus) loved it! I can’t wait to try the others!

  • I love your recipes and I just bought the Let’s Get Saucy iBook this morning. I was able right away to look at the pdf file, but when I closed the site I couldn’t find the book in my Books on my iPad. Any suggestions?

  • Great video! Been Subscribed to your channel from the beginning. Amazing to watch, you should make a video about how you compost your veggies.

  • Hi Hannah, trick with the asparagus, at the end, “break” the end (wherever it will break from bottom up) and that part above that (break) part will be the freshest, instead of just cutting off the ends, learned way back when from my Nana, have fun, love the video and thank you so very much for the recipes! PS I’m not far from you in desert and I will start my own herb garden when this darn pollen is GONE! lol ps could not find the “fave shopping list” in latest video??? no link? thanks again so very much for all you do I have many MANY of your cookbooks LOVE THEM!!!

  • I also reccomend superfood powder for smoothies I think it tastes really good also quite a bit cheaper than greens powder. Oh and i know you already did a fast food video but would you be able to do a longer one with more places as well as other foods besides breakfast?

  • Ok, this video has finally made up my mind. I’m buying an air fryer. I’ve been on the fence for awhile but I just decided need one now!

  • I thought you said you weren’t focusing on weight loss anymore? I feel like this is why so many vegans become ex vegans eventuallybecause they’re attracted to the vegan DIET. The idea that it’s the BEST way to eat and you can eat a LOT for LITTLE calories. It’s so disordered and engrained with diet culture.

  • I love your music intros, you pick awesome tunes and like how you edit it together. Anyway that cucumber salad, i will be so making it. Thanks Hannah!

  • I want to get an air fryer but not sure which one to get since there are so many on the market. Which one do you use or which one would you recommend? I love your videos and the recipes look delish.

  • Totally bummed I missed the sale! Ugh. Do you always have rice on hand in the rice cooker? Just wondering Ive seen some videos where people just make it at the beginning of the day and keep it warm all day etc. Also what kind of rice do you use?

  • HAVE to try that cucumber salad now! Recently started a youtube channel and hope to track my weight loss through it! Thank you for these recipes <3

  • The recipes are wonderful. Only one complaint, the up-talking (making every sentence end with a question tone of talking)…cringing my way thru this. Again recipes wonderful!

  • HI Hannah! My name is Corinne. I started a plant based diet about a week and a half ago and I am so grateful for your channel! You have already given me so many yummy recipe ideas! I live in Tucson, too. It’s such a beautiful day today (I wish it would be like this all summer.) Anyway, thank you again for your channel and hard work. Maybe I’ll see you around someday…

  • I was so excited for the Brussel sprouts until I heard the wordy “air fryer” I will roast them I guess. I wish I had an air fryer

  • Hi Hannah, love your videos!! Perhaps you’ve already told us, but I was wondering what steamer basket you use in the instant pot? Thanks!

  • Ok, ok…I got ahead of myself, it is right there in plain sight!! Thanks again!!! I am ordering all you books…and the peelers, LOL

  • Love the peeler!! I want one!! Is it in your store?? When will you have them or a link to purchase them?? YOU ARE SO FUN AND EASY TO WATCH!!! THANK YOU

  • How am I just finding this channel?!? After a while of following other vegan channels (raw alignment etc) diets and feeling like poop I started doing your recipes and I feel so alive! I bought starch solution book and am loving it, I feel like you are a great vegan example for me thank you

  • Rate in which vegans r going back being meat eaters I don’t understand why they don’t choose being a vegetarian instead of going back to cruelty intact ways of eating.

  • Hi Hannah I know this is off topic a bit but could you do a video on your sleep routine like what time you get up and then what time to bed I would really appreciate it if you could cause I’m kinda struggling at the min with a night time one. Would love to know what time you naturally fall asleep and do you set an alarm for the mourn? I’m trying to get away from my night time sleep pill but I would need a routine so would love to see yours that’s if you can much appreciated…

  • Just don’t go carnivore or other diet. I found your channel amongst the first channels and then transited to different ones, just making research… And now are many of those carnivores or whatever. Also I want you to stay from selfish reasons due to balance in all those opinions. ✌️

  • As a fellow toastmaster, I’d like to say that your videos are well done. That being said, in your voice overs, be careful with putting emphasis on the last word of each sentence. You have a tendency to raise your voice pitch making it almost sound like a question instead of a statement. Keep up the great work. Very informative!

  • These kinds of videos are so important for me people are not eating the proper vegan diet and getting very sick you in the other hand are doing vegan right and i need this for the best meal ideas so thank you so much

  • Totally doing the brussels sprouts tonight…. ❤️ Question about the get saucy ebook: are the ingredients of most recipes considered « staples »? Like i don’t have fancy ingredients in my pantry and don’t plan on buying « exotic » stuff (I have the basics of course like nooch and everything, but not like super fancy spices and all that). I really want to buy your ebook but Im afraid i wont be able to make a lot of recipes. Thanks in advance!

  • What was the fresh basil you put in the pasta sauce??? I’ve never seen basil with leaves that small!! Was it fresh oregano??
    (Love this vid btw lol)

  • Dang girl you make everything look so fucking good. Now I’m hungry and I just ate I’m really enjoying Let’s Get Saucy
    Highly recommended

  • Thank you for adding oven instructions too, for those of us without an air fryer!! Can’t wait to make all of these!!

I can’t wait until I hit the point where I’m so used to veggies that I want to eat them as a snack. I’ll get there!

  • What kind of air fryer do you use Hannah? A good portion of your recipes call for it and I’m looking to invest in one! I love how much you use your instant pot, as I’ve been obsessed with mine too!:) thanks for all your helpful videos!

  • If you like eating bulgur, i would love you to try to make Kısır. Its a traditional turkish food and its DELICIOUS. Its also very similar to what you are making!

  • This is so awesome! Glad I found your channel random question, but is that a couch cover in your open, if so would you mind sharing where you got it? it’s so cute!

  • I thought it was just me who ate the same meal 3 or 4 days in a row so thank you for making me feel more normal!! It’s so hard to cook single portions so i tend to cook for a family and eat the servings over 3 or 4 days… so much easier that way!

  • We single girls help each other out, if not by sharing handy dandy recipes, then by bringing smiles to our faces with silly humor. Love this, Nina! <3

  • your recipe with bulgur is like a Turkish dish we have! it’s called “kısır ” It’s basically the same thing, but we add tomato paste as well. goes well with pickles!

  • Your videos are a tonic to me. This one will help so many people. Thank you for your thoughtfully produced content. You are a treasure!

  • I’ve been struggling with this so much! Please show us what your groceries would look like for the week! I have a hard time buying things I can use in multiple meals during the week

  • PLEASE CONSIDER: Your choice of vegan mac and cheese + cream cheese, add as much spinach as you want so it cooks down and add salt and pepper. God bless that food. I just finished freshman year and it was an easy/cheap dorm room alternative to ramen <3

  • omgdfdj i love this video so much. it’s helpful & hilarious, you said something’s seriously & that just made it more funny.

  • I grew up poor so eating more vegetables than meat wasn’t an option. We filled up on veggies and starches because we only got one little piece of chicken, and that was on Sunday! The rest of the week we got meat flavored beans or stew. I eat that way, still, today because it was ingrained in me.

  • Sending you so much love & healing energy, Nina! I laughed out loud at “store other 132 servings in containers” So healthful to have a stocked fridge/freezer!

  • great video, Vanessa, thank you! I agree with you, do the prep as soon as you get the veggies, before throwing them in the fridge! Hope you also make a meal prep for meat/chicken! Cheers from Germany!

  • the best tips for weight loos thank you

  • I grew up poor so eating more vegetables than meat wasn’t an option. We filled up on veggies and starches because we only got one little piece of chicken, and that was on Sunday! The rest of the week we got meat flavored beans or stew. I eat that way, still, today because it was ingrained in me.

  • Yoo this woulda been so helpful back when I lived in a place where greens were dirt cheap but I didn’t buy them bc I had no idea how to use them:0 still love the video though

  • I love all of these recipes! Everything that you cook is really accessible, thank you for sharing! You. Are a force for good out here, girl! I’m super surprised that the food network isn’t, like, beating down your door to offer you a show seriously!

  • These kinds of videos are so important for me people are not eating the proper vegan diet and getting very sick you in the other hand are doing vegan right and i need this for the best meal ideas so thank you so much

  • I’m so doing the brussel sprout recipe today!
Thank you for the offer for extra discounts on your ebook. I just picked up 2 of them.
    Thank you!

  • I’ve been following you for a lil while now and have always found your personality intriguing, but after watching your “Important videos” Playlist.. I’m officially broken hearted that we’re not best friends.

Either way.. Great channel, great video. Love ya, bye.

  • THANK YOU so much for this. My next 5 weeks of uni are going to be far much more wholesome as a result of new-found inspiration!!!!

  • I just watched 2 of your videos and i looove them! Can’t wait to check out more and excited for new videos:)
I love the recipes, the style of your videos, how you edited them, i love the choice of music! And your personality! Great great job:))

  • I love your videos soooooooo much! Such a great inspiration. And also the music and your ideas and the all this Great Food! L O V E!

  • I think you are the most wonderful person on youtube Nina <3 Your laugh brings me so much joy. Thank you for continuing to create and share <3

  • The spinach idea was the best tip ever!!! Thank you so much, I did something similar as you prep the lettuce but you using a towel is so clever (I struggle when it comes to waste papel). Fiest video, Im definelly subscribing

  • Your videos are a tonic to me. This one will help so many people. Thank you for your thoughtfully produced content. You are a treasure!

  • What was the fresh basil you put in the pasta sauce??? I’ve never seen basil with leaves that small!! Was it fresh oregano??
    (Love this vid btw lol)

  • PLEASE CONSIDER: Your choice of vegan mac and cheese + cream cheese, add as much spinach as you want so it cooks down and add salt and pepper. God bless that food. I just finished freshman year and it was an easy/cheap dorm room alternative to ramen <3

  • I’ve been struggling with this so much! Please show us what your groceries would look like for the week! I have a hard time buying things I can use in multiple meals during the week
