Place the sweet potato, almonds and the whole garlic clove in a baking dish and pour over the above mixture, tossing to coat the sweet potato and almonds well. Arrange in a single layer and bake for 20-30 minutes until the sweet potato is just cooked through. Now prepare your chickpeas.

Savory Sweet Potato Salad is made with sweet potatoes, arugula, pomegranate, dried cherries, quinoa, and pumpkin seeds in apple cider vinaigrette. It delivers all five flavors and so much texture! Sweet potato salad is perfect for holiday dinner. Winter Sweet potato salad instructions In a large bowl toss sweet potato slices with salt pepper and oil. grill 10 min each side and let cool. Chop into cubes when cooled. remove corn from cob. add in bowl with beans, red pepper, onion, cilantro, sweet potato, and avocado.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Toss the sweet potato cubes with the olive oil and maple syrup. In a small bowl, whisk together the salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika, then toss the sweet potatoes with it. Roast for 15 minutes, flip and roast for 10 to 15 minutes more. Sweet Potato Pomegranate Salad featured in Lettuce-Free Winter Salads This hearty Sweet Potato Pomegranate Salad is a perfect side for a holiday dinner or an easy-to-pack lunch.

The oranges, reds, and greens make it a festive dish, and its citrus. Place the sweet potatoes in a large bowl, along with one tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper. Toss to coat the potatoes and then spread them on a baking sheet. Place the sheet in the oven for 30 minutes. When finished, remove the.

Step 1 Place the diced sweet potatoes and potatoes in a Dutch oven, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Boil until the potatoes are fork tender, but not mush. Toss the diced sweet potatoes in olive oil and spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Then, bake them! Done!

If you can keep yourself from eating all the sweet potatoes straight from the oven, then you can make this sweet potato salad:) Just whisk together all the dressing ingredients and toss over the sweet potatoes. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender but still firm, about 30 minutes. Drain, cool, peel and chop.

In a bowl, mix together the cornichons or relish, mustard, honey, celery, lemon zest and juice and red onion. Season with salt and pepper and let sit while the potatoes cook.

Chilling the sweet potatoes in the refrigerator before finishing the salad with vinaigrette, some scallions, and a sprinkling of parsley also prevented them from having a mushy texture.

  • There’s no such thing as too many different salsa’s for tacos lol reminds me of the back in the day videos when you had blonde hair vibes

  • Omg I love cilantro too!! I literally always find a reason to use it
Also, love your cooking videos they inspire me so much ❤️❤️

  • Can you please make a video of you making the salmon my daughter has to start eating it for the vitamins d she’s low I never cooked salmon before

  • Yassss your food recipe videos are my absolute favorite!! I try them out once in a while and it helps me and my husband buy way more veggies now when we grocery shop. Before our veggies would just spoil and now we use them up. I do alternate some things cuz i hate cilantro lol but i love your recipes

  • I’m now fasting it’s the 24th of Ramadan
And I made it for Iftar it smells good but I still did not try it but thanks for the Recipe

  • So likeable personality Gaz!
I would love to buy a book from you with recipes aimed at replenishing but easy dishes for bodybuilding, but still with variety to surprise and satisfy the palate! <3

  • I honestly just love your videos so much. My favorite is to put on your recipe videos while I make dinner. It’s like cooking with a friend

  • YUM!! This gave me so many great ideas!!! I’ve finally made the switch to organic, clean eating, because I get soooo sick if I eat anything with gluten, dairy, anything that’s fried, or that has a ton of un-natural ingredients like dyes and preservatives.

I’ve had IBS and a couple other issues and so I get painfully bloated and have horrible stomach pain. But I find that eating clean and organic foods only, has completely changed how I feel!! I love love LOVE your recipes and food videos, they truly give me so much inspiration!!

  • Hi Gaz! In love with your channel, you’re doing a fantastic job. I’m newly vegan and your videos have definitely made the transition easier! Quick question, you mentioned that it’s a dream of yours to travel and I wondered if you would ever consider travelling in a van with your own little kitchen inside? If so, I’d love to know which camping stove you’d use and also would you pack in a small camping oven? If so which oven? It’s my goal to live in a van and have my own kitchen inside where I can still follow your recipes, and so I’d love to hear any recommendations you have for camping cooking gear. Diolch yn fawr, Hâf (fellow Welshie):-)

  • GurLLLL….you do this so well. I mean I felt like I could taste and experience the textures of every dish. That heirloom tomato was a WINNER and the deep rich color of the sweet potato made me wanna jump up and go buy one. Omg! I’m a foodie if you can’t tell but I really enjoyed and appreciated this video. Job well done my friend❣

  • We cannot get good sweet potato harvests here in the north part of the United States but we do use the vines as filler for decorative pots. I was under the impression from other videos that you had to let the sweet potatoes cure for up to two weeks after harvest to develop the sugar content. When you cooked them right away after harvest, were they sweet?
Thank you for all of your wonderful videos!

  • I’m realizing that watching all your cooking videos (because i’m obsessed with them) makes me adapt your cooking habits!! I’ve been eating SO much veg on veg & adding cilantro/green onion to everything!!! so shout out to you!! But please keep the cooking videos I love them for inspirations for the week!!!

  • you were correct Nikki, it’s crema! I always love your food videos! (Let’s be honest I’ll watch & love every video you put in) gotta love that “welcome to my channel”!

  • Girl what are you doing getting pepper in your salt bowl. Ugh, it’s killing me!!! Switch your order, salt first always. Really great recipes though, thanks

  • Looks good but you spoil the entire salad by not peeling the potatoes first. I would puke like mad if I put that in my mouth w ith the skin on the potatoes.

  • I honestly just love your videos so much. My favorite is to put on your recipe videos while I make dinner. It’s like cooking with a friend

  • Followed this recipe precisely all the way through and I must say, even though it does take a while when you have to make it alone from scratch, it is definitely worth it. Just put on some nice ambient music like “Red Dead Redemption 2 ambient soundtrack” and relax while making it.
I actually ended up improving it with tortilla chips instead of bread crumbs, because I had some left over. They definitely don’t make it worse:):P
Also, don’t be discouraged, if you can’t throw the bowl around like Jamie when it starts to get heavier. At one point, my bowl was so heavy that I just stirred it with my fingers.

  • I also tried…not sure if it should be planted in summer or winter season here in South Africa…..first vine went yellow and I thought it’s harvest time..only to have nothing whatsoever….lol.. have some more vines going better luck with them…

  • Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I think I saw it for the first time in March and I have consistently made up a large bowl of kale salad on a weekly basis, with different variations since watching this. Your 5 salad dressings tutorial has also been a great inspiration. I have also sampled this with friends and they were very much in love with this salad.

  • This looks delicious! How do you prepare the beets and sweet potato? I’ve never made beets before but am sure I would like them!:) Thank you!

  • Hi Rob. I am just up the road from you on the northside of brissie..been watching your vids for awhile and quite enjoy them especially the aquaponics but i haven’t adventured that far yet.Anyways i planted some slips into the ground middle of feb and harvested last month and ended up with around the same yeild as you..so maybe it is our weather. Cheers Thor

  • What do you mean by richness of the compost? The amount of minerals and such broken down?

I’ve just moved from Adelaide to Geraldton and will be visiting the permaculture farm very soon here, hopefully i can learn something.

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Are you kidding me this looks literally like heaven. I am drooling over all your videos right now haha. And the MUSIC you choose man!!!

  • Love it! All the colours, your taste in music and your style! The colours you are wearing look so pretty on you! Would love to see a closet tour and your ideas for how to find such beautiful clothes and colours.
Your last video about vegan weight loss really spoke to me too! You are a very positive inspiration!!!

  • Oh….my god! Eating it for dinner right now, it is the greatest thing I’ve ever tasted! Thank you so much for this recipe, I ate a massive bowl and I will make this a weekly thing xxx

  • HI. I made a version of this this afternoon for my husband and me. It’s our 20th wedding anniversary today, and we packed it in a picnic basket and took it to a nearby state park to eat. It was perfect for the occasion! Thanks

  • This looks delicious! How do you prepare the beets and sweet potato? I’ve never made beets before but am sure I would like them!:) Thank you!

  • I made this for lunch yesterday. It was unlike anything I have ever ever ever made before and it was awesome!!! No sauerkraut and I substituted some seitan for the tempeh, but it was sooooooooo YUMMY. The texture was beautiful! I got major hand bombs from my man for this dish so… Thank you SPS!

  • First of all, I love your nails! Also, thank you for the awesome recipe.

Thing is, can I switch out the sweet potatoes for carrots or something since? I’m deathly allergic to sweet potatoes (incredibly sad, I actually liked the taste before anaphylaxis kicked in). ❤❤❤

  • Hi SweetPotatoSoul! I love your videos and so glad that I found your channel (I came over from hotforfood:)! I’m moving to NYC next week and was wondering if you have any tips for a new new yorker/city goer?

  • If you’re having problems viewing this video (if YT says it’s unavailable), it may be the device you’re trying to watch it on because of the music I used:( Try desktop or laptop!!! xo

  • Ooh this looks good! I just love your videos. Not only do you have great ideas, but the videos are beautiful and I LOVE the music you use:)

  • Wondering if you could create dishes for a strictly gluten free cookbook? I love your channel and all your food looks amazing. The only thing that’s holding me back from purchasing your book is the gluten. I would think you could pull your GF recipes from this book and perhaps tweak a few of your wheat recipes and then create a couple of new ones for the book. What do you think?

  • I live in TX and if I have to roast something during the summer, I do it. LOL. I hate the heat down here too. Thanks for sharing!

  • Made this tonight but had to substitute yoghurt for mayo but oh my lord…..!!!! It tastes so incredible! It surprised me the difference it made to the taste, by doing everything whilst the spuds were still hot, and the kick of the lemon was something else! Will definitely be doing it more often. Thanks Jamie x

  • Threw a sprouting sweet potato in a composting pile of forest mulch once. Got over 30 kilos in one season! Also got a great pile of compost at the end too:)

  • hey rob,

I found the pouches always make the yield smaller than when i plant directly in ground, not sure if you have any room for that but if you do it would be worth the try next time. I find the pouches make the soil too compact and doesn’t let the spuds grow

  • You inspired me to grow sweet potatoes for the first time in a few years. We’ve got some in the ground and some in grow bags. We’ve been enjoying the greens and will harvest the tubers before the first frost. We had a pretty good tuber harvest last time, but it was also a very hot summer that year. We’ll see how it goes!

  • Nikki, you inspire to eat healthy. I came to your channel a couple years ago and I am so happy to see your progress. Love you so so much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Thanks for sharing the harvest Rob… Might not have been what you’re used to, but it’s still gave you a nice warm salad meal and a few extra larger ones to enjoy later on! Cheers! Rob

  • HI! I live in NJ right outside of Manhattan and for some reason I can’t find Tempeh in any store near me… any suggestions?? Thanks so much =)

  • I am really looking forward to see what our sweet potatoes do this year the plants are huge. we have about 4 or 5 weeks before we can expect the first frost but anything could happen lol. My yacon is over 6 ft now that going to be interesting too.
    Loving the salad mate.

  • Were those pouches filled with just compost or did they include soil? Vegetable plants need soil and at most 10% organic matter. Growing in just compost would not provide the nutrients a root crop needs.

  • book signings…you should offer signed bookplates for a couple of dollars for those of us in the USA that can’t get to your tour sites:)

  • Hi Buddy, This could be your answer to your recent weak Compost performance…. Long but useful.

  • I’m not sure the tiny Hawaiian sunshine crop was due to your compost.
Had the same stuff I got from greenharvest and the sizes were about the same as what you got.
I’m down in Vic and grew it last spring/summer.

  • OMG, I am not Vegan but dairy free and was trying to find hot choco like regular and I had no idea that I could do it with Arrowroot, thanks for sharing, I have just made it and now time to enjoy with vegan pumpkin pie:)) Thankssss

  • Ironically I made this tonight. Chickpea tato stew. You’re so talented. Love watching your cooking vids. And I love your masala dabba. Have one just like it.

  • question about your cookbook, is it going to be metric system or imperial? If anybody have his cookbook please explain to me if it’s going to be metric or imperial or both.

  • Thanks so much for the recipes!!
I gave up hot chocolate when I became a vegan. I really have to try your recipe especially with Christmas coming up:)

  • in india, one of our quickest lunch or dinner quick is to have potato sides with yogurt n rice, only negative part is it actually creates gassy situation

  • One of my fav potato salads is a warm salad with baked potatoes with the skin on either baked in the oven or in the hot coals of a BBQ,southern Italian style.cut them up in chunks once cooked.then add roasted peeled capsicum sliced up,fresh parsley & basil, dried oregano, crushed garlic, lashings of olive oil,s& p,you can even add cooked chick peas to make a meal of it.& Dunk some crusty wood oven bread in the juices.. delicious!!

  • Sorry Jamie, potato salad three ways? I think this is meant to be on the Jerry springer episode wherever the guests like to engage in three ways in piles of garbage

  • Me encanta que ayas vuelto, tus comidas rápidas son mi debilidad,me recuerdo todos tus vídeos desde allí en la granja saludos Jamie no te vuelvas a ir

  • Hi there! Just found you in the favorites of a yoga channel. Subscribed after I’ve seen just this one video. You are doing such a good job with editing and background music, no wasted time and beautiful visuals (yourself including!). Looking forward for more sweet potatoes hahaha

  • Chops raw bacon on the chopping board, cooks it in the pan, returns the bacon to the chopping board…the secret ingredient in the salad? Campylobacter!

  • Not very hygienic tbh chopped meat, salad and herbs all on the same chopping board guys be careful always use seperate ones when it comes to meat how you think corona virus started it was through cross contamination. Stay safe everyone

  • I love how your recipes never skimp on flavor! Just really good, delicious vegan food. I have made your chana masala, so the stew is right up my alley!

  • in india, one of our quickest lunch or dinner quick is to have potato sides with yogurt n rice, only negative part is it actually creates gassy situation

  • Yayyyyy!!! Thank you SO much for showing your Spice Tin!!! I make your Butternut Squash Curry and it’s one of my favorites. Can’t wait to make this one!! <3

  • Potato skin on with halved eggs, sliced Dill Pickles and a Mustard, Mayo, Pickle juice, salt and pepper dressing.. best Potato salad ever!

  • Just mayo with onions, garlic, salt, pepper and a sprinkle of smoked paprika is the perfect potato salad. Most potato salad on these shows are to fancy and over flavoured

  • I agree with everything but the yogurt. While yogurt adds tons of flavour it’s quite loose, I suggest using both mayo and yogurt for taste and texture

  • Do you sell any meals to go outta your home, advertiser on Facebook some people do that here that cold be a start towards money for a restaurant.

  • I wouldn’t like to eat that one. Oliver, but your patato salad is terrible. To me it looks like a lemon salad. There are better ways to do this and without meet of cours.

  • Lemon juice..wayyyyyyyy..wayyyyyyy tooo much!!!! I think half a lemon it.s more than enough…because you put joghurt also…..and scratching with metal on the non-stick pan..it.s like an ofend to all your students..

  • Made this tonight but had to substitute yoghurt for mayo but oh my lord…..!!!! It tastes so incredible! • No, no, no…. use russet potatoes, Hellmann’s mayo, mustard, S & P, 1 pack of Ranch dressing mix, a little pickle juice, boiled eggs, onions, sweet pickles and sprinkle paprika on top! (Can use Italian dressing mix instead of ranch for a different flavor)

  • Jamie said to put the new potatoes into boiling water. I always heard that anything that grows under the ground is always put into cold water and anything that grows above the ground goes into boiling water. So who is correct?

  • PS for any other vegans who ever gave Jaimie a hard time, you know what to do with yourselves. I need to cultivate a more zen-like approach to twits. I forgot that back in the day I made my own yoghurt from goats’ milk I got from a neighbour, and strained through paper towel or cheese cloth through a colander and mixed with finely minced cucumber a pinch of salt a bit of mint and oregano etc. made an epic tzatziki which worked really well in lieu of mayo. Easy to do with any unflavoured Greek yoghurt. Also in Scandanavia (sp get lazy) they do great really great full meal potato salads with herring, green beans, herbs etc. And for anyone who like me prefers to keep to a low glycemic index way of eating, potatoes eaten cold become a resistant starch like winter squash and sweet potatoes which never produce a blood sugar spike. Sorry, feeling chatty and being Canadian was compelled to apologize for it. Cheers to all and sundry.

  • Chops raw bacon on the chopping board, cooks it in the pan, returns the bacon to the chopping board…the secret ingredient in the salad? Campylobacter!

  • I made and ate this like 30 minutes ago. So awesome! The only change I made is I used no oil and used your lime/orange juice chilli dressing. Thank you!

  • Gaz Oakley looks like he probably smells really nice and calming. He seems like the type of person where you could totally fuck up one of his recipes, and he’d like, place his hand on your shoulder and tell you you tried your best.

Don’t even get me started with the dulcet tones of a man saying, “I should put my apron on”. Yes you should, and when you’re done cooking, come pet my hair while I eat it and tell me I’m pretty and trying sooo hard.

  • Sorry Jamie, potato salad three ways? I think this is meant to be on the Jerry springer episode wherever the guests like to engage in three ways in piles of garbage

  • Just made this, didn’t enjoy it too much unfortunately. If I make it again I will probably do a dressing without orange or with less, since it overtook most of the dish this time.

  • I’m now fasting it’s the 24th of Ramadan
And I made it for Iftar it smells good but I still did not try it but thanks for the Recipe

  • Nice! Thank you Gaz! I was wondering if you know the YouTube channel “Harry runs”. he is a Welsh vegan ultra runner, it would be interesting if you do a collaboration!

  • Nisha!!! This is the best hot chocolate ever, especially with the whipped cream. Definitely need to have a cup every day now when it’s packed with so many nutritional benefits and also fills you with so much warmth and happiness.

  • Gaz come and educate West Wales eateries into the joys of veg/vegan. It is even difficult to find dairy alternatives for coffee apart from GMO soya.

  • Vines I cut off mine and discarded on a pile of used soil survived winter (maybe sheltered from frost by a nearby gum tree). So I thought I’d replant them in a raised bed. Well I pulled them up there were little sweet potatoes! Bonus! That salad looks devine

  • I’m not vegan, I’m Brazilian, and for some reason I keep watching all of your videos. Your work and pasion are amazing, I’m sure people can feel that just like I do! I’ll be sure to visit your restaurant one day!

  • I will make this, but I can’t get passed putting sweet potatoes in any kind of recipe because the thought of something that’s sweet like a sweet potato in a recipe mixed with other veggies and grains and meat and sauerkraut to be combined together in a salad or even a soup doesn’t seem like my stomach would like that at all. I would be leaving sweet potatoes out of recipes, but I enjoy just eating them with just butter and cinnamon and maple syrup as just a snack.

  • I cannot wait that you open a restaurant, and maybe in the future, you will also have a restaurant here in Romania too. I love you videos and style so much, you are a true inspiration. Have a blessed day!

  • Would love to see you cook for Welsh Celebs, like Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, and Hue from the BBC News ect. Wales would be on the Map yet again, ready for world domination for having some of the nicest celebs in the world! Congrats Gaz from England.

  • Totally going to recreate this! Looks amazing! And if you ever get the chance grow your own veggies! I started alittle veggie garden at my parents house last year and its the best thing! It’s a great way to get outside and the rewards are the best!

  • So likeable personality Gaz!
I would love to buy a book from you with recipes aimed at replenishing but easy dishes for bodybuilding, but still with variety to surprise and satisfy the palate! <3

  • You are fantastic! Thank you for changing how I look at vegan cuisine you have elevated it to a whole new level! Enough for me to willingly change my ways! You make it easy, beautiful, and best of all, deliciously satisfying. Thank you from Phoenix, Arizona, USA

  • So my hubby and I think you should open your own restaurant and call it “Gaztropub.” Or something like that. Maybe serve vegan beer alongside your delicious recipes!:)

  • Yassss your food recipe videos are my absolute favorite!! I try them out once in a while and it helps me and my husband buy way more veggies now when we grocery shop. • Hey! Love your channel:) I’ve been doing some reading and seems like “Buddha bowl” is cultural appropriation/insensitive. Might be worth adding a note in the description calling it a nourish bowl instead, I know the discourse has changed a lot over the past three years, and I want aware of this either back then. ❤️

  • book signings…you should offer signed bookplates for a couple of dollars for those of us in the USA that can’t get to your tour sites:)

  • I would be over the moon if you compiled all these awesome recipes in a cookbook someday! Love the stuff you come up with, so different from everyone else. Your food is so much more practical and homey but in a unique fun way!

  • Lemon juice..wayyyyyyyy..wayyyyyyy tooo much!!!! I think half a lemon it.s more than enough…because you put joghurt also…..and scratching with metal on the non-stick pan..it.s like an ofend to all your students..

  • Nikki something I gotta say about you Is your an amazing cook like how do you come with these recipes your so creative I LOVEEEEEE your taste in food all your recipes are soo delicious I’ve tried to do every receipe you post and I’ve been following you for 3 years now and I’ve gone back also to your previous videos and all your recipes are like Wow! & the presentation you do is sooo good!

  • Currently on the treadmill watching YouTube videos and got a notification time to watch! food videos are my favourite!

  • Can you recommend a sub for the tomato in the soup? I’ve recently discovered they’re a migraine trigger for me. It’s really complicating things. Thanks!

  • Nikki, you inspire to eat healthy. I came to your channel a couple years ago and I am so happy to see your progress. Love you so so much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  • Threw a sprouting sweet potato in a composting pile of forest mulch once. Got over 30 kilos in one season! Also got a great pile of compost at the end too:)

  • Hey! Love your channel:) I’ve been doing some reading and seems like “Buddha bowl” is cultural appropriation/insensitive. Might be worth adding a note in the description calling it a nourish bowl instead, I know the discourse has changed a lot over the past three years, and I want aware of this either back then. ❤️

  • Looks so good, like always! The way you stumble over your words…makes me smile.. Make sure you come to California if you go on that book tour:)

  • I live in TX and if I have to roast something during the summer, I do it. LOL. I hate the heat down here too. Thanks for sharing!

  • Jamie said to put the new potatoes into boiling water. I always heard that anything that grows under the ground is always put into cold water and anything that grows above the ground goes into boiling water. So who is correct?

  • Oh no! Keep the t-shirt clean! Sriracha MB’s are our fave too. FYI they freeze and reheat well, so they make a good busy weekday meal! Don’t forget Canada! Head west to the mountains!

  • HI! I live in NJ right outside of Manhattan and for some reason I can’t find Tempeh in any store near me… any suggestions?? Thanks so much =)

  • Amazing salad! Extremely nutritious, healthy and delicious (although kinda expensive) hahah! I love it! Can’t wait to try this out tomorrow for my guests!! I’ve got all the ingredients!

  • OH MY GOD!!!! Are you kidding me this looks literally like heaven. I am drooling over all your videos right now haha. And the MUSIC you choose man!!!

  • I just made it and it’s just delicious, i change the sweet potatoes for Butternut ssquash because it is what I had but it is still o good.

  • Oh….my god! Eating it for dinner right now, it is the greatest thing I’ve ever tasted! Thank you so much for this recipe, I ate a massive bowl and I will make this a weekly thing xxx

  • Comical. I could plant sweet potatoes in any random patch of soil, never maintain, fertilize, water, etc. and do better than this yield. What exactly are you showing here? What a waste.

  • One of my fav potato salads is a warm salad with baked potatoes with the skin on either baked in the oven or in the hot coals of a BBQ,southern Italian style.cut them up in chunks once cooked.then add roasted peeled capsicum sliced up,fresh parsley & basil, dried oregano, crushed garlic, lashings of olive oil,s& p,you can even add cooked chick peas to make a meal of it.& Dunk some crusty wood oven bread in the juices.. delicious!!

  • I just made it and it’s just delicious, i change the sweet potatoes for Butternut ssquash because it is what I had but it is still o good.
