Why Starving for Your Big Day is a Big “No!” you can successfully slim down and feel great on your big day. However, brides who think they can drop pounds simply by not eating (or not eating enough) in the days leading up to the wedding, have some serious problems ahead. Big meals are often celebratory, which means they may include foods that are decadent rather than nutritious: starchy vegetables like mashed potatoes, white dinner rolls, cake. Foods that fall high on the glycemic index can make your blood sugar spike, causing a surge of insulin to drag it back down.

The quick vacillation in blood sugar can. There are many reasons why a person may always feel hungry, including dietary and lifestyle factors. However, increased or constant hunger can also be a.

Another reason you might not feel as hungry on days you workout is because when you exercise, your blood is flowing to other major areas of your body, not to your stomach. As your blood flow is stressing the flow to your legs, heart and lungs typically during your workout, it neglects your stomach which means there is less blood flow for digestion. Don’t worry, it’s totally normal. It happens every single month, without fail. You start to feel moody, low and irritable, and you notice a big increase in hunger (and your cravings for chocolate and ice cream). And when you finally get your period, all you can think about is.

The Bloated Look of the Starving. By Don Glass This is generally no problem, as the lymphatic system removes the excess, and a little fluid cushioning the organs is a good thing. In PCM.

This is why it’s so important to listen to your body, instead of sticking to a fixed regimen. I’ve noticed that there’s a sweet spot every day — a time period to stop your fasting window. Perhaps it is no surprise, then, how hungry we feel after a big meal with family and friends.

We are still hungry the next day – or even later the. After a long period of starvation, the body has learnt to not secrete digestive juices. Stomach muscles shrink as they have no work. All the glands are on holiday and don’t know when duty again calls. (Without food in the stomach the hydrochloric acid. With your packed schedule and desire to drop a few pounds, eating one meal a day seems like an easy way to go.

While intermittent fasting, going long periods of time without eating, has become a popular way to lose weight, like most other diet trends, it’s a fad that won’t lead to lasting results.

  • It’s funny when you are eating unhealthy nobody will stop you but the moment you start to eat healthy or dieteveryone wants to shame you

  • Remember to always consult your doctor before attempting a water fast, because doing it wrong is dangerous. For some people, doing it at all is dangerous. Please don’t harm your body especially if you are growing by trying something incorrectly. Remember that there are plenty of healthy ways to lose weight and water fasting is not the only option.

  • Your videos of reverse dieting are everything.thank you so much
I have a question, I dieted for a while almost a year on and off and lost 20kg before this period I never tracked macros, after dieting I found my maintainece calories to be at 1200 I tried losing weight by going 800 calories (which I know was a mistake ) it also didn’t work!! Not a single pound for an entire week! I started reverse dieting last month and Iam increasing calories slowly for how long do u think I should reverse before I cut again?

  • The strory of my life over weight to almost underweight then i shot myself to obese and now im currently overweight, everyone who doesnt know im bulimic congratulates me for loosing all the weight i have lost recently but what they dont know is that i have been struggling with a restrictive bulimia for 4 years… i was out of any sort of treatment for over a year but in april i started outpatient and eventually in july i had to go to a part hospitalization program and got discharged back in the end of august but last week i was told i will be going to the same program again bc i keep loosing weight unhealthy

  • I’m freaking out… I was trying on a pair of pants that I haven’t worn since like March (before the pandemic) and they felt tight. After that I was looking at a old tik tok of mine when I was wearing those pants and they fit way better back then

    I’M FREAKING OUT

  • The reason why most kids are obese is because of the parents the parents would rather spend money on other things rather then healthy choices

  • I lost more than 12 KG’s with in 6 to 8 months
Psychiatrists said its coz of stress.
But i want to know exact reason.

I used Basil seed a lot.
I am jobless from 1.5 years.

Does anyone know what to do

  • Every time I try to fast is the time where my mom has the AUDACITY to bring I cream home and McDonald’s anddddd buys junk food for once

  • i know i wandet to be skinny, i didn`t eat a lot and just little, but now those videos made me realase i need food to stay alway and now i am eating! I should be happy with my weight and normal weight i have!

  • This probably doesn’t relate to the video but since I can’t find any video to answer my question, I guess I’ll just ask in the comment and I hope that someone can give answer to me.

I have a thin body with 39kg and 150cm height. So i don’t really have any problem on worrying what should I eat (well I still have to worry but not in that kind of weight problem). But I kinda notice that my weight has been decreasing lately. When I was 15, I remember that my weight was 41kg and when I was 16, it started to decrease by 1kg and I’m now 17 with 39kg. And I dont understand why is this happening because I’m sure I eat a lot like I take a lot of meals in one time. I sometimes skip early breakfast. Most of the times, I eat heavy food late night such as instant noodles. And I never try dieting in my whole life. So, my point is, is it normal to experience weight loss with my eating habit? I don’t feel like I’m unhealthy but I just feel like I’m getting thinner every year. So yeah, just wanna ask is it normal, because I don’t find anyone explaining this and I’m just curious.

  • Questioning one detail: Ketosis makes you grumpy. I was in a Ketosis diet for about a year and I felt great. Better than when I’m on normal diet. Surprised there are no studies on that issue.

  • Wait I don’t get it if you are starving yourself how come u don’t look anorexic after a while of doing it will u not become really skinny And underweight

  • Great explanation! Very important to have crabs every one and awhile, have a good amount of healthy fats while in ketosis, and fast once a month. I cook carb free food. Make videos. I love it!

  • FYI: Body wraps acid cells in fat to protect the body.
If you wanna lose fat, a change in mindset (by forgiving past trauma/ letting it go) and adopting a wholesomely beautiful disposition will work wonders.

  • Science told me it’s the 3-3’s.. You got 3 minutes without oxygen to brain, you got 3 days no water and finally 3 weeks without food.. Sounds right..

  • found this video because it is day 0 of my 30 day fasting and i need motivation. i dont really need to lose weight but i have 2 addiction to get rid of, and i might have a disease which fasting should cure, according to Dr Sebi, and because my dad has doabetes and i want to prove to him that fasting for x days is possible. ok gonna watch this now

  • I’m currently on day four. I’m fasting for 7-10 days however long I can last. i haven’t weighed myself yet cause I’m gonna weigh myself when the fast is over but before the fast I was 177. My goal is 150-160 I’ll update y’all soon

  • This probably doesn’t relate to the video but since I can’t find any video to answer my question, I guess I’ll just ask in the comment and I hope that someone can give answer to me.

  • Fasting is awesome but it’s not a quick fix. This man gained all the weight back because he didn’t actually deal with the issues of why he was emotionally eating. You need therapy and professional help for the depression that causes weight gain.

  • Stevia???? Basically sugar…..what about in the other videos where you said processed sugar makes the body retain water???? So confused

  • 1:13:58 Don’t. I see BIG women as beautiful. A big woman with confidence is honestly one of the sexiest things on Earth. Not even gonna lie.

  • Lemme premise this by saying I have no need to lose weight, but. Does your brain prioritise itself over everything? Coz if that’s the case could you supply the “3 cokes” worth of sugar each day, stay hydrated and basically lose weight without the negative mood effects? Or does it increase linearly with the rest of the body?

  • I’m in the morbidly obese range, I’ve been able to lose 13 pounds so far by fasting most of the day and having one small meal, also drinking a gallon of water a day. My parents are proud of me for finally losing some weight, now I just gotta keep it going till I lose another 48 pounds, then I’ll be good.

  • i know i wandet to be skinny, i didn`t eat a lot and just little, but now those videos made me realase i need food to stay alway and now i am eating! I should be happy with my weight and normal weight i have!

  • That’s exactly how it started with me, not as a child but in my mid twenties, obese to underweight, eating next to nothing and exercising 3 hours a day. It’s frightening. I only eventually got it under control because I wamted to get pregnant.

  • Wait I don’t get it if you are starving yourself how come u don’t look anorexic after a while of doing it will u not become really skinny And underweight

  • I’ve been bulimic for 9 years and no one has ever been able to get through to me just how much danger I’m putting my body through… but this video had me in tears thank you for the info I’m going to try and get treatment x

  • This is some major incorrect information here. After 3 days of fasting from food, and drinking strictly water, your body REGENERATES ITS IMMUNE SYSTEM!!!! If you have been diagnosed with a disease, one of the best things you can do for your body, is yo go on a water fast and then introduce all new organic foods, herbs,etc..into your diet. Fasting has incredible health benefits. If you have a fatty liver (many people do) during ketosis, your body will use up that dangerous stored fat in your liver for energy. Also, the worse your diet has been, the more difficult your fast will be; if you eat a cleaner diet, your body won’t have to detox during the fast as much.

  • My psychiatrist said I didn’t have anorexia because I didn’t meet the weight range. I was then admitted to hospital because my heart almost stopped.

  • The best diet is eat only when belly is bagging for food no matter after each hour or after a week your body tells you itself what is needs

  • Good gut bacteria need food as well. Maybe if you fast but supplement fiber to keep the bacteria fed it’s healthier(?) Since long term water fasting can truly mess up people’s gut. Now tbh people who eat super unhealthy often already have a bad gut so I guess it matters less then. If I would do it, I would possibly just make things worse. I wouldn’t do it, but I can see why some people choose this.

  • Wow!!! Big whoop!! When you pressure children/teens into losing weight (often by calling them fat) they develop a eating disorder. I love it when adults act like nothing they do plays into the teenage ED epidemic

This is not to shame this video, its great that they are bringing light to this issue, I’m just mad that I see this talked about nowhere else

  • I’m fasting for 7 days and after that I’m going on the keto diet for a month and hopefully after that my appetite will already be small so I won’t gain the weight back

  • the reason why i skip meals and throw up isn’t because i need to lose weight but because i see myself as fat and ugly and i have no self esteem so if i were skinny i would be happier and more joyful thats why i throw up and starve myself because im so sick of being down all the time and depressed

  • this is a real problem.. someone that is thin can eat like a burger or a bag of chips and no one says anything but someone bigger will do the same and get judged..

  • I tried water fasting. On the third day in the evening I felt like I was going to die. Honestly. So I drank some tea and I ate a banana. Then I threw up and then I started to eat normally again. No water fast for me…Eat healthy and work out. Do it for the long run.

  • Contrary to conventional wisdom, ketone bodies may provide neuroprotective effects while reducing oxidative and metabolic stress. The human body doesn’t actually need any dietary carbohydrates and some evidence suggests that ketone bodies might actually improve cognitive function over glucose, even to the point of increasing memory, rather than hampering it. Any perceived negative mood changes caused by a ketogenic diet would likely be a result of reduced reward responses to sugars in the diet and/or psychological fixations (so-called comfort foods), not actually resultant directly from the metabolic state of ketosis at all. In fact, most people enter ketosis at some point every day, that’s why we have a meal called “break-fast”.
High glycogen reserves can also contribute to non-alcohol related fatty liver disease. In general, the western diet is waaaaaay too high in carbohydrates. The FDA recommendations are, after all, based on studying the consumptive levels needed to maintain soldiers on the battlefield, who are often participating in highly physically strenuous activities. Unless you personally perform many such tasks, like athletes and the aforementioned soldiers, you don’t need to have continuous stores of glycogen around muscle tissues, and the brain definitely doesn’t need glucose to function at a high capacity.

  • I just started crying..I lost 26kgs in 7months after being soo restrictive and saw behavior of anorexia I lost half my hair,no periods since 4months, anxiety and binge eating too..I’m just 15 idk what to do now.

  • So today I have started a water fast. I am starting with 7 days but might go longer. I’m not sure yet. I’m so excited. Wish me luck. I will post daily updated.
    Day 0: 215 pounds

  • This happened to me as a teen. I was a chubby kid i was bullied bad so i decided to lose weight at 14.
It started with skipping a meal but eating normally rest of the day. I began losing weight fast and got tons of compliments. Eventually I hit a plateau (already healthy weight at this point) so i stopped eating completely and started walking all the time.
It’s scary like she said tho, because your weight starts to get praised, boys start noticing you and it becomes rewarded. It’s toxic.
My music teacher was the only one to call me out on how much weight i was losing, and told me i looked sick. She contacted my mother then i got help. But it is very easy for kids to get into this especially when receiving positive attention from the loss.

  • Oooo I can tell you this one personally!! I have complex gastrointestinal disorders including Gastroparesis, GI dysmotility etc etc… spent two months in hospital not long ago, gradually starving for a month while my nasojejunal tubes failed and then put on a PICC tube with intravenous nutrition for two weeks. Before finally going back home a few weeks later after a nasty kidney infection (just for fun! Lol).

Still struggling to eat, but back on some meals and some special supplements for now.

  • No artificial sweeteners, gluten. (Leads ro inflammation so NO)
Start w high Fiber fat protien berries, hemp seed, stevia, coconut oil, almond butter cinnamon, chia seeds warm water.

Swap gluten free carbs for these ones!-fistsized. (Whole grains prebiotics fiber nurtures gut bacteria to tolerate carbs & reset gut) space without lunch dinner
Teff, amyranth, quinoa, wild rice pasta, whole grain buckwheat (doesn’t have wheat in it)
4 cups prE-biotic fibers the vegetsbles of any cruciferous (broccoli, cauliflower allium garlic onions leeks, fibers etc. Peppers.
And of course they dont finish what else you can eat in the video

  • I understand culture, but making him sit there with food around and he’s not going to be able to have any is straight of crude. They could of sat around and chatted then let him go somewhere while they eat.

  • This comment section is actually sickening. Here this lady is trying to bring awareness to eating disorders and people are trying to give each other advice on how to do it.

  • Another solid vid!! Creating new fat cells that don’t go away…..Ugghhh that just doesn’t seem fair! Definitely agree that it has to be a lifestyle to lose weight and keep it off. Getting more aggressive for worse results with starvation is a losing battle….yikes!! Thanks for the insight! Just another 10 lbs to go to get back to not being a slob. Take care!

  • Why did he stop at BMI 41? Thats a morbidly obese BMI classification. I think he should have continued the fasting until he reach BMI 25, even if that means fashion for 60 are days. He is still morbidly obese. And where are the daily workouts? Did he miss that part?

  • So your telling me to stop trying to lose weight!? That it’s bad for a teenager to lose weight!? Nah honey I don’t think dats gonna happen with the way the world is right now. I would even personally take some risk to lose weight if I didn’t have a super worrisome cousin who has my back making sure I make healthy choices.

  • I eat 300 calories a day since 2 weeks and I lost 10 kg and I’m feeling okey the only problem is that I have headache and can’t concentrate but I also can’t stop because I haven’t reached my goal…..

  • not eating makes you loose so much weight i hate how theyre calling it anorexia i have to have monthliy apointments cause i dont eat much

  • First-time weight losers, I’m telling you from experience that Colin is exactly right when he says “when you lose weight for the first time it’s never going to be easier than that time”. Please don’t starve yourself or do anything extreme to rush the weight off. It will just lead to binge eating and weight regain.

  • Being in Ketosis can actually be really good for some peoplesevere epileptics. My little brother had uncontrollable epilepsy and when he was 3, they placed him on the Ketogenic Diet. He had to be very carefully monitored but he would literally eat a whole stick of butter as a meal. Something about the changes the brain goes through during ketosis can help reduce seizures. It kept my brother alive for over 18 months at which time he went off the idea in order to enter a drug trial for a new seizure medication.

  • It’s funny when you are eating unhealthy nobody will stop you but the moment you start to eat healthy or dieteveryone wants to shame you

  • 1:18:10 It’s amazing how dated this info is. 1 “pound” of body fat is 40%-70% water, depending how fat you are. It’s not pure oil/fat. That’s why it’s so giggly. The caloric equivalent is 800-1000. Which makes a lot of sense. When you’re fasting, there’s no way you’re burning that many calories.

And in addition to that, fat people that dry fast, lose around 3 pounds a day. There’s no way they’re burning 10,000 calories a day. But if the fat they’re burning is mostly water, and only 800 calories per pound, then it makes perfect sense.

  • I told my mother im staveing my self haveint eat anything in 2 or 3 days my mom crys why u doing this i said cause i dont ha e to deal pain no more shes crying right

  • Water fasting that amount of time should really have medical supervision and the person should be limiting expenditure over time. I remember hearing Douglas Graham’s retreat on a water fast a person died but im not sure if that is true or not, but i do know that we do need electrolytes and sugars over a certain time frame of water fasting.

  • I fasted for a week and lost 10 pounds. It’s kinda bad the first few days but after the first 3 days it should be easier to continue without food and fast. At least for me

  • This video came up on a perfect time. Very inspiring. Thank you.
I’m currently doing a Semi Hard Dry Fast and planning to transition into a water fast, then to juices, and then a vegetarian keto intermittent fasting lifestyle.

  • Exactly what happened to me. I started off as an obese 15 year old then a hospitalised 16 year old because of not eating. When I have kids I’m going to teach them to have a healthy relationship with food.

  • Ugh… I started out large and then the weight went off… and then I would binge eat and then slowly lose weight again…
    I just don’t know what to do…

  • I used to be 110 kg and in a year i dropped to 65kg. I’m right now battling with mental and eating disorders that i dont know how to deal with… im really dtruggling right now, and its worse than when i was obese. I was happy back then, now i hate myself and my body.

  • I am a freshman in high school growing up ever since I was six years old I was obese. It really takes a toll on you. I’m an anorexic going into recovery soon I went from 151 pounds to 135 in a month which is double what you should lose making healthy decisions.

  • What is wrong with people these days. If you want to lose weight move your body. It’s that simple. If you aren’t physically capable of moving then reduce intake. Life isn’t difficult.

  • People need to stop fat shaming others….It’s one of the main causes of this… In my case, my family keeps calling me fat all the time. If I want to eat something I’m called a fat. They keep being like… “Are you planning on being a sumo wrestler?” like bruh.
They fat shame in front of all my friends and their families. In front of strangers and everything. Even if it’s like 2 extra chips. When my friends eat less than me while we’re having a meal they tell me to learn from them. My friends keep telling me to not pay attention to that. I agree I’m overweight and am currently 74 kgs.. Never gone above that… But it’s really annoying. I’m the type of person who doesn’t pay attention to negativity and these types of comments usually don’t affect me. But it gets annoying when you have to listen to it every day for yrs…. I know I need to lose weight. But let me do it in my own way… Fat shaming me doesn’t encourage me in any way to lose weight rather it makes me annoyed and stressed when they do it in front of others and I end up stress eating later…. It’s really annoying…

  • I’ve lost 80 pounds in 8-9months (Started at 235 and now down to 153). Everyone says I look so good. It feels so good to hear that. People ask me how I do it. I lie and say watching what I eat and exercising. Someone asked me how many calories I ate in a day and that gave me so much anxiety.

  • This isn’t entirely accurate, alpha linoleic acid, a fatty acid, crosses the blood brain barrier, same with hydroxylated metabolites of cholesterol. I think you may have got something confused, cholesterol itself won’t cross the BBB, but metabolites of it will. Which only makes sense, the membrane of the blood brain barrier is fatty tissue, the brain itself is fatty tissue.

  • I would love to do a fast but I was wondering if it’s safe to do a fast while on medications. I have to take blood pressure tablets and inhalers for lung problems. I would appreciate any comments on this subject. Really interesting information and very informative.

  • This is me. I was obese, even though I didn’t realize it until I spotted my eating habits next to my friends’ eating habits. I started hating myself and crying when I looked in the mirror. I started noticing and thinking about little comments and hints that people made about my appearance and heaviness and slow running pace. I started dieting, then skipping lunch and sometimes breakfast too, and nobody noticed because I had gotten to a ‘normal weight’, maybe even still a little fat. My brother called me large which caused me to go the next day without eating at all since I pretended I had breakfast before everyone else had theirs, I threw away my school lunch (like I had been doing for the previous month) and my parents had gone out for supper and had left me a warm-up meal to make for myself and my brother and I had just given to my brother in the lounge and said I was going to have mine in my room but threw it away instead. I had started doing a hundred push-ups a day and was feeling really proud about it and told one of my friends, but she raised an eyebrow and looked at me in an amused way and said, “You? A hundred push-ups? I don’t believe you…” and she didn’t seem to realize how much pain and tears that had caused me. She has always been oblivious to my feelings and doesn’t realize how much her comments hurt me, even though she doesn’t mean them in a terrible way. She says them without thinking that they might affect me, since she has three younger brothers and is used to telling others what to do and stuff, so she doesn’t have experience with weight-conscious people and doesn’t know what is triggering and what isn’t. It isn’t her fault. Anyway, I stopped for a while, deciding that the misery wasn’t worth it, but I only lost about half a kilogram. I wasn’t (and am not, since this is pretty much now) happy with my slow weight loss speed. I’ve decided to start the starvation again to lose more weight because I want to be skinny and will only ever be happy once I’m underweight. My mindset is anorexic, (I’m not diagnosed with anorexia, I just have many symptoms, though it hasn’t been diagnosed by a proper doctor, just people on YouTube) but people don’t notice because I don’t look anorexic at all. But they forget that that is usually why people start to starve themselves in the first place — because they have been labeled by others as fat and overweight, someone who needs to lose weight otherwise they won’t be accepted or meet the standards of others’. I myself noticed that popular kids actually started talking to me more when I had lost weight, because I looked better and was more ‘normal’ and ‘unembarrassing’ and not so ‘weird-looking’. When I was obese they gave me weird looks that literally shouted ‘You’re weird and I don’t like it’ in my face and I always wondered why. It’s sad how people judge and only like you by your appearance, because I was always a really kind kid and my friends, who liked me because of my personality not my appearance and have stuck with me through all of my obesity and anorexic phase, always said that I was kind and caring and never gossiped or said mean things about others, I only noticed the bad things about people when others talked about it with me. The sad truth — people actually do judge by looks.

  • I would put money that coming back from Catabolysis in particular drastically reduces ones lifespan. Have fun dying of ‘old age’ in your 40’s anorexic people. >_>

  • I’m 4’3″ and 14 years old… I’m January of this year I was 80 pounds now (in june) I am 32 pounds. I weigh less than my 5 year old brother. But people just think I’m normal because I tell them I weigh 60 pounds.

  • So today I have started a water fast. I am starting with 7 days but might go longer. I’m not sure yet. I’m so excited. Wish me luck. I will post daily updated.
    Day 0: 215 pounds

  • When I was 12, I weighed a whipping 210 lbs. I was 5’5. My family was really supportive of me losing weight. So I just ate a little less and ran/walked on the treadmill for awhile, and the pounds started dropping quick. I lost a pound a day, and my goal, was 110/122. It took me around 98 days to reach my goal but I did It! I was really worried I was gonna get anorexia but thankfully I didn’t.

  • This described my situation soo literally!!! i Been yo yo dieting for years. but I decided to do reverse diet 6 months ago. Have gained 9kg so far but I still look worse at this bw compared to the past. I know I can’t cut anymore yet but can’t afford gainning weight either. I wanna recomp. Should I maintain my weight or go in surplus? I know it need to reverse really for long time due to my history

  • Immediately after the ‘expert’ particularly points out to eliminate artificial sweetener, the breakfast bowl has Stevia (artificial sweetener) in it. What an irony!

  • Ok I starv myself then eat salad and I’m not vegan I wached the vid not to be rude I promise dude but i drank water only water which is healthier than food a little bit and I have a six pack but yes some times I eat bad but I eat heather than I used to but I am saying no lies I used to be overweight I’m 11 and I have a six pack and I’m proud but I’m also Active I run work out so im skinny now but thank you for the info I have family history of fat so I’m lucky to be like this

  • My friend has been insecure about his weight since day one and he has been trying to starve himself I’m trying to make him stop starving himself but he never believes me. And this video made my argument much better…. thank you

  • My mom thinks its ok because i’m not underweight yet and we’ll deal with it when i’m underweight. I told my therapist I struggle to eat and my mom didn’t seem happy.

  • Immediately after the ‘expert’ particularly points out to eliminate artificial sweetener, the breakfast bowl has Stevia (artificial sweetener) in it. What an irony!

  • I have been in ketosis with weekly “normal food” breaks for years.
I was an athletic youth, but 40 years later I feel even better. The “cheating” takes care of the “grumps”.
I am thin, happy and feel great. Plus i get my pizza. Judge yourself.

  • A lot of truth, but a blaring neglect of speaking about the overwhelmingly positive benefits of fasting. What he referred to as the third stage of starvation is only the beginning of starvation. Prior to that is your body coming into balance

  • I became bulimic at 11. Im 27 now and have always had a bad relationship with food. People ALWAYS commented on my weight growing up

  • I can live severely calorie restricted and have gone 5 days without eating, but I don’t think I could fast with my current lifestyle. The fatigue and brain fog is so bad during fasting I’d never be able to work and go to school full time without my grades and productivity deteriorating.

  • We don’t necessarily need carbohydrates, we can simply life without them and our bodies are perfectly capable of producing the required glucose levels trough a process called Gluconeogenesis which takes place in the liver. Also, our livers convert fats into an useable energy form called ketone bodies which do have the ability to get trough the blood brain barrier, so, that fatty food covered in butter does have the ability to provide you energy. I’m well aware that Hank mentioned the process of ketosis and ketone bodies being able to get trough the blood brain barrier and supply the brain with energy, however, he also mentioned that a fatty food won’t do much. I still very much love Scishow though.

  • It’s hard to completely get away from artificial sweeteners though. Unless you don’t care that all of your food and drinks tastes bland. I can’t drink just pure water. I have to have some flavor pack in my water and flavor packs have artificial sweeteners. I use real brown sugar in my oats but I am careful about how much sugar I consume each day; not more than a maximum of 48g (that’s 4 tablespoons). And denying yourself any kind of sweeteners means you can never have dessert. I don’t try to have dessert more than once a week, maybe, but I like to know the option is there with a sugar substitute.

  • I know this video is old but if you catch me here, i’d have a suggestion for further videos. Since fasting and keto diets are becoming popular it would be nice to actually have a good and scientific explanation of it without actually being harrassed to change our life right now!

  • If anyone is ever interested in trying the keto diet for the 1st time it’s important to know that in the 1st 3 to 5 days you WILL go through what’s called the “keto flu”. You will be tired and have cravings for carbs and probably have an insane headache. But once you tough out this phase, after about the 5th day or so (everyone is different) you will wake up with no headache and tons of energy or at least no up and down crashes throughout the day from blood sugar and insulin spikes. In my opinion it’s perfectly fine to do keto for anywhere from a few months to maybe a year. Beyond that, in my opinion it would be the most healthy to incorporate a “well balanced” diet of all 4 food groups. Fat loss isn’t just about limiting your carbs, it’s about keeping your fat storing hormone insulin at a balanced level.

  • I dry fast for 2 days and i feel grest. No cognitive impairment. Its actually the opposite. Whoever made this video is saf and is part of the evil big pharma and their minions

  • I’m in ketosis 90% of the time because of my past eating disorder, and even after fully kicking the bad starving habits… I still don’t even wanna eat when I’m hungry but I force myself to because I know my body needs it. Maybe I might have (through metabolic changes) an overactivity of leptin or related precursor hormone patterns? I’m learning more, but I’m trying to find out if my body has adapted internally to my strange sporadic eating habits? I want to know if the inside of my body is healthy

  • Having battled anorexia for years (even though I eat now I still battle the urges that make me want to starve myself) I’m 99% sure I have been in all those phases of starvation at least a dozen times. To this day remembering to eat is still a struggle. When you go without food for as long as I have eventually your body stops telling you that you are hungry at all. I could go for days without eating and I will never feel the hunger pains most people get. However, knowing that anorexia changed me in this way I over compensate for it now. I eat at least 8 small meals a day. Even after 2 years of eating I am still not at a point where I can sit down and eat a full meal like a normal person. If I eat too much in one sitting I’m like a gastric bypass patient…I get physically sick and end up vomiting up everything I ate. Eating holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas are miserable for me. I want to pig out with the rest of the family and give myself a huge food baby, but I can’t because of the after effects. I wonder if I am ever going to be a normal eater again honestly.

  • I’ve been bulimic for 9 years and no one has ever been able to get through to me just how much danger I’m putting my body through… but this video had me in tears thank you for the info I’m going to try and get treatment x

  • i have been 9 stone since 1979 i dont eat meat,,only fish,,we are what we eat,,you eat all them cows then wonder why you look like them,,,stop the death of animals that feel things like we do

  • It’s still shock me just how a lot of people don’t know about Custokebon Secrets even though a lot of people with it. Thanks to my personal friend who told me about it. I’ve lost tons of weight.

  • If anyone is ever interested in trying the keto diet for the 1st time it’s important to know that in the 1st 3 to 5 days you WILL go through what’s called the “keto flu”. • I weigh 92 kgs and I have stretch marks all around my body because of “sudden weight gain” and I hate them so bad and also don’t like my current weight. I’m hoping to lose about 20 pounds and try not eating when I’m bored (I know it’s a habit) and try stay slim. I want to be that tall skinny girl you know.

  • He’s correct when he said ask anybody over 65 and they will tell you that they saw very few fat people.I’m 63 and I can tell you that I knew 1 kid that was fat through my childhood and then through grade school and high school. I remember one of my teachers in the ninth grade saying ” take a look around, how many old fat people do you see?”.That question really left a mark on me and my lifestyle.

  • I was 200 pounds at 14 in one year I got down to 130, but wanted to be more thin so I kept eating like 900 calories a day, eventually I lost my sex drive, felt like a sociopath and lost a lot of muscle

  • I am going to start doing this right now. I’m gonna try a week. I’ll update you every 2 days, please reply to this so I can remember to update you.

  • why is the video called starving yourself, but then you start to talk about people eating less??? your video is a load of crap useless WRONG information.

  • The ‘doctor’ at the 1 hour 9 minute mark is wrong. Telling people who starve themselves will eventually stop losing weight because of a slow metabolism. So he has never seen people who are starving all over the world look?

  • After you get through that hangry phase it’s not that bad, I mean you just gotta apologize to people you get hangry with but it should be good

  • Imma stop eating coz I’ve literally had depression and social anxiety for years because of my weight and it all ends today. I alway scary every night and so lazy and I am so sick and tired of that.

  • The reason why most kids are obese is because of the parents the parents would rather spend money on other things rather then healthy choices

  • I started fasting when I was in federal prison but I only did up to 4 days and I’ve seen results in mental clarity and a huge increase in energy so I can only imagine the benefits of 55 days. I’m starting tomorrow on my 40 day water fast. Thank you for inspiring me to push myself. ❤️

  • What do you do if you cannot digest fruits and vegetables, they irritate my gut,it is assumed everyone can eat “healthy stuff” some of us cannot.

  • I have been trying to lose weight for such a long time, and instead of losing, I’m slowly gaining. It frustrates me but I keep trying. I do exercise but I mainly focus on what I eat. When I go on a diet, it may get me to lose a few pounds, but then I stay at that weight and don’t lose anymore, but gain once I eat anything off-diet. Any advice?

  • Up to two months lol without food my ass there are documented cases of people going more than an entire year without food. I usually like sci show but this particular one is a tad wack. Fasting has been shown to be great bor body soul and mind. Not for months granted but for a week is beneficial to most healthy people.

  • i’m 4’10 and 17 years old. when you’re shorter, you look more,,, bigger,,? i guess. and it’s so hard because once i lost 40 pounds, it barely looked like i lost any weight. i lost 40 pounds in 2 months from binging. i’m starting to have thoughts of doing it again

  • Guys. lost a ton of weight doesn’t need to be hard (I used to think it did). I’m going to give you some tips right now. Look for a popular weight loss system called Custokebon Secrets (google search it). Thanks to it I’ve lost a lot of weight. I probably should not even be talking about it cause I do not want a bunch of other guys out there running exactly the same game but whatever. I am just in a great mood right now so I will share the wealth haha.

  • While anorexia is a problem, not eating temporarily to loose weight is not. As long as you start eating healthy amounts after the weight loss, it’s not a bad thing and it’s not anorexia.

• How about then dieting hard for 3 weeks until your body starts to adopt and then have a week of break where you eat at maintenance level? And then repeat this cycle…

  • My acquaintances in work have used also this specific weight loss program and also were able to cut more than 13lbs. They smiled and told me to have my exploration way too and find out about it. Right after I tested the weight, I have eliminated 15 pounds. Google can help you to research it. Weight program’s name is Peyton Huno†az
    good luck

  • I didn’t eat anything yesterday and I didn’t drink water. I was mostly in my room. It’s 4:13 am right now. I’m waiting it to be 5am so I can get a cup of water. Also my stomach and shoulder hurt, and near my chest like the right side.

  • Been there and even now in my twenties, I’m still trying to gain confidence in myself. Tryna be optimistic about how else but in a save way to lose weight

  • This dudes such a con artist, so aren’t “the dictators” that are literally just a bunch of tv “doctors” as bad as televangelists and traveling preachers

  • I just started crying..I lost 26kgs in 7months after being soo restrictive and saw behavior of anorexia I lost half my hair,no periods since 4months, anxiety and binge eating too..I’m just 15 idk what to do now.

  • There is so much wrong with this video, its sad. Sad because so many people watched it and believed it to be fact. Please research yourself and disregard this video

  • Thank you. I’m not obese in any way but I want to burn off the stubborn last layer of fat. At work I’m climbing ladders and lifting boxes and pallets. Im in a calorie deficit but with all this work I’m just starving. I wasn’t eating the foods you were saying but I’ll sure will now.

  • This is very true, if you are tryning to lose weight it is not a matter of not eating, it is a matter of eating healthy and cutting out junk food

  • This comment section is actually sickening. Here this lady is trying to bring awareness to eating disorders and people are trying to give each other advice on how to do it.

  • I’m now 11 pounds heavier i phoned my gp to get my thyroid checkrd as I went up 4 and a half in one week? I have all my weight in my thighs so I’m miserable. I’ve migrsines and stomach cramps and can’t sleep. 1400 calories a day i also walked 60 minutes to 90 mins of exercise some of which was running. I did that because I love running and gardening and did too much. Could a deficit over 500 calories cause that. The heavier i get the higher the probability is i get a large deficit. I wanted to compete but due to fat regain I wouldn’t have placed. Im mow afraid of running and im doubtful I will ever get my figure back. My bone mass is really low and I cannot justify training to put on more weight

  • Thanks for the inspiration Kenny. U make me want to fast 40 days. I lost 40 lbs in 22 days and its hard to fast again, but this video helps me get motivated again. Thank u Kenny

  • In 7th and 8th I was half bulimic. Puked a lot and didn’t eat any food except milk water and supper. Went out for track and wrestling and was always tired now I’m overweight again at 20. Hitting the gym but god damn sugar and beer oof. 175 now

  • I did this when I was younger starved myself to loose weight and lost 40 pounds in three months and was happy with myself and started eating normally and I have something called fatty liver cause my medication I was taking at the time hurt my liver when i took them

  • Having battled anorexia for years (even though I eat now I still battle the urges that make me want to starve myself) I’m 99% sure I have been in all those phases of starvation at least a dozen times. • Great explanation! Very important to have crabs every one and awhile, have a good amount of healthy fats while in ketosis, and fast once a month. I cook carb free food. Make videos. I love it!

  • I’ll be starting my fast tomorrow. I’ve done it before for 4 days. This time I will do it for at least a month if not longer. I don’t have a primary doctor though. I’ll go to a doctor exactly 30 days into it to find out how I’m doing health wise and what concerns the doctor may have. I’ve bought a bottle of multi vitamin as well as a bottle of salt. I’ll put 1/4 tsp into a gallon of water that I’ll drink daily. That’s 490mg. I’ll wait about 1 week and then start taking the 1 a day vitamins. I’ll keep y’all updated with 1 post each day

  • In some few months back in our school there was a woman who was picking up one at a time from a student to talk with, what their height is and there weight is. After it was my turn, she started to see what my height was and then my weight. After school i showed the paper to my Big sister and my mother, that the woman gave me, and they we’re both a bit shocked, when they saw how much my weight was, and it was 55 kg, i didn’t know that it was a lot back then, so of course i got a bit upset about that, so i ate healthy of course and exercised a little, but not to much “yet”.
After a bit some time i would start to do a 22 minute extreme workout everyday, and would start to go “vegetarian”.

I would also start to have smaller portions of my meals, and instead did another workout 2-3 Times of the entire workout for 4-5 times a week.
I would mostly skip a meal if i was upset with something, and would always argue with my parents.
From that on my weight dropped to 41 kg.
I am currently to this day recovering from my eating disorder + i have to go visit the hospital every week, until my blood pressure goes up normal and is approved by them from the hospital:3 my support is also my mom and my sister.

  • i eat 600 calories a day and i do a lot of strength training and cardio will i still lose a lot of muscle since im training to bring it up

  • I’ve heard the later stages of starvation can be quite euphoric and death by starvation can be quite blissful. don’t know how true that is, but you know.

  • My friend has been insecure about his weight since day one and he has been trying to starve himself I’m trying to make him stop starving himself but he never believes me. And this video made my argument much better…. thank you

  • I eat 300 calories a day since 2 weeks and I lost 10 kg and I’m feeling okey the only problem is that I have headache and can’t concentrate but I also can’t stop because I haven’t reached my goal…..

  • People say not to do it to lose weight because you gain it all back from binging afterwards but if you do it this long there’s no way you will gain it back quickly

  • I’m fasting for 7 days and after that I’m going on the keto diet for a month and hopefully after that my appetite will already be small so I won’t gain the weight back

  • I’ve lost 50 kgs (110 lbs) in 5 months by complete fasting. The difference is that I only drank water and didn’t take any supplements; however, I felt better, but obviously weaker than I was before. I started eating normal food again (way less than when I started) for a couple of months, but continued to lose another 10 kgs (22 lbs). I was a depressed kid who had nothing to lose, so the mental battle was easy.

  • the reason why i skip meals and throw up isn’t because i need to lose weight but because i see myself as fat and ugly and i have no self esteem so if i were skinny i would be happier and more joyful thats why i throw up and starve myself because im so sick of being down all the time and depressed

  • What is wrong with people these days. If you want to lose weight move your body. It’s that simple. If you aren’t physically capable of moving then reduce intake. Life isn’t difficult.

  • Doctor oz I try to eat healthy because I have prediabetes and diabetes run into my family it’s hereditary sincerely yours Mrs Amber McCutchen

  • If you want to leave a comment about this not being true, please watch the video before commenting. A lot of people are missing the point and I want to make sure you understand how it actually happens.

  • I haven’t been capable of eating because I’m grieving really hard over the loss of a love one. It’s been a few days, but I’m trying to force feed myself.

  • This dudes such a con artist, so aren’t “the dictators” that are literally just a bunch of tv “doctors” as bad as televangelists and traveling preachers

  • Hey Dr oz I am trying to lose weight myself I have prediabetes I am trying lose all of the weight I don’t to be healthy and living a balanced life sincerely yours Mrs Amber McCutchen

  • I know this video is old but if you catch me here, i’d have a suggestion for further videos. Since fasting and keto diets are becoming popular it would be nice to actually have a good and scientific explanation of it without actually being harrassed to change our life right now!

  • I’m currently on day four. I’m fasting for 7-10 days however long I can last. i haven’t weighed myself yet cause I’m gonna weigh myself when the fast is over but before the fast I was 177. My goal is 150-160 I’ll update y’all soon

  • this is a real problem.. someone that is thin can eat like a burger or a bag of chips and no one says anything but someone bigger will do the same and get judged..

  • Imma stop eating coz I’ve literally had depression and social anxiety for years because of my weight and it all ends today. I alway scary every night and so lazy and I am so sick and tired of that.

  • The only time I eat is at dinner since that is when I sit down with my parents and eat. My friend told me don’t starve yourself since she’s done it before, but I didn’t listen. It hurt seeing all my chubby friend start to loose weight yet nothing happened to me and I was really uncomfortable being around skinny people.

  • I haven’t been capable of eating because I’m grieving really hard over the loss of a love one. It’s been a few days, but I’m trying to force feed myself.

  • The best diet is eat only when belly is bagging for food no matter after each hour or after a week your body tells you itself what is needs

  • People say not eating anything will make you fatter.

    Exhibit A: Lost 44lbs.

They are wrong. Not eating anything will make you loose weight. If your metabolism is already slow, not eating won’t make it any slower. Don’t listen to them.

  • People say not to do it to lose weight because you gain it all back from binging afterwards but if you do it this long there’s no way you will gain it back quickly

  • It’s easier just to not eat than to eat veggies. That just gives me more weight. And I’m too lazy to exercise. I just want to be skinny like everyone else.

  • This happened to me. Went from 198lbs to 129 lbs. I was 5’6 and still in a healthy weight but I had anorexia. My health was deteriorating by the day and my body was starting to give. I’m so thankful that I got help and have now been in recovery for 3 months now

  • Doctor oz I try to eat healthy because I have prediabetes and diabetes run into my family it’s hereditary sincerely yours Mrs Amber McCutchen

  • just watch the cooking shows, every meal is loaded with bacon, cheese, fat. and Drs love it, instead of telling people to lay off the fat, the salt, the sugar, processed foods, they reach for the prescription pad  and schedule an extra office  visit,, it’s a win win for them

  • I am going to start doing this right now. I’m gonna try a week. I’ll update you every 2 days, please reply to this so I can remember to update you.

  • I’m just trying to not get bullied for freshman year,we might not even go to school for a few more months cause corona but I don’t wanna gain that weight back—I live in a extremely overweight household and you get weird looks if you exercise,so would it affect me much if I do it for a few days or at least a week and then regularly eat again, like do it once or twice a month? Would that be okay?? So far from just starving and every once in a while eating —-it’s been working cause I went from 233-180 within doing this a few months during quarantine,I want to have a normal BMI—do you think it’s better to just keep doing this or get to at least 170 or 160 before exercising to loose the rest while gaining muscle weight? I’m not sure how to do this within the family I live in.

  • My dad tells me that I look like a cow and that I should be slim and sexy like models he said that I’m never going to get married if I don’t it kinda sucks

  • Some very low-cost slimming hacks: 1) When you wake up, drink a glass of warm water with lemon juice. 2) Get your caffeine from green tea (with a bit of honey if you must); it speeds up metabolism. 3) Finish dinner by 9pm. If you feel absolutely seized with hunger later on, have a hard-boiled egg or two. It’s okay it takes energy to lose weight. 4) Turn off the lights and the data on your phone! by midnight. Not enough sleep, plus blue light from gadgets, wreaks havoc with metabolism and with hormone regulation. 5) Drink a cup of mild laxative at bedtime.

  • I know is not easy to have healthy habits, but you start changing your mind first and then you pick healthy foods, that’s what I did.

  • i had a surgery not to lose weight but when i did i didn’t eat anything and everyone was telling me i looked good cause i was losing weight and my face was getting sunk in it was bad but everyone told me i looked good so i keep doing it

  • I believe this to be percent accurate I have been sitting at 200 for years never was able to drop now I’m slowly dropping I finally am now at 193lbs when I wake up in the am! My goal is 180 which isn’t to far but I am consistently eating through out the day and been slowly dropping instead of starving myself just to drop weight! But realizing also that I need to strength train as well!

  • people carnt eat chicken or burgers these days without having bacon as well,,that is so greedy i want to shout out how evil that is

  • i have been 9 stone since 1979 i dont eat meat,,only fish,,we are what we eat,,you eat all them cows then wonder why you look like them,,,stop the death of animals that feel things like we do

  • Wow my mind set my body is scary because I used to be slightly over weight and I started off weighing 117lbs at first. I gained a lot of weight when I was nearly ending my sophomore year and I weighed 105 or 106 starting my sophomore year of high school. Right now I’m in college as a freshman and I weigh 90 something lbs. If you wonder how tall I am, I am 4’9. I don’t see myself as thin even I know I am and I used to be made fun off for being fat. That hurt my self esteem and since I got notices for my weight loss so why bother stopping it. I still want to keep going with weight loss.

  • This happened to me. I started losing weight and everyone complimented me on it. I went from 175 to 120 in just a few months and now I’m wanting to lose even more.(120 is almost underweight for my height since I’m on the taller side:/ )

  • Science told me it’s the 3-3’s.. You got 3 minutes without oxygen to brain, you got 3 days no water and finally 3 weeks without food.. Sounds right..

  • Thanks for the inspiration Kenny. U make me want to fast 40 days. I lost 40 lbs in 22 days and its hard to fast again, but this video helps me get motivated again. Thank u Kenny

  • Fasting is awesome but it’s not a quick fix. This man gained all the weight back because he didn’t actually deal with the issues of why he was emotionally eating. You need therapy and professional help for the depression that causes weight gain.

  • I tried water fasting. On the third day in the evening I felt like I was going to die. Honestly. So I drank some tea and I ate a banana. Then I threw up and then I started to eat normally again. No water fast for me…Eat healthy and work out. Do it for the long run.

  • That’s exactly how it started with me, not as a child but in my mid twenties, obese to underweight, eating next to nothing and exercising 3 hours a day. It’s frightening. I only eventually got it under control because I wamted to get pregnant.

  • I believe this to be percent accurate I have been sitting at 200 for years never was able to drop now I’m slowly dropping I finally am now at 193lbs when I wake up in the am! • What happens when you starve yourself

    after 1 day, normal

    after 1 week, tired

after 1 month, worse than where you started

  • Thanks BCBSTX for telling me twice that my Blue Advantage HMO covers bariatric surgery but then when I want to use the coverage you say you don’t cover it I’m not waiting until next year to resign up for this it has happened to me twice already. BCBSTX Only covers if it’s not related to obesity or weight loss but bariatric surgery induces weight loss. I’m completely done as of 514 pounds age 30 I’m starving myself and I’m not going to stop until I’m at a healthy weight.

  • Awful. Associating using fat storage as starvation. It only called fasting. This is a harmful and misleading video and should be taken down

  • I understand culture, but making him sit there with food around and he’s not going to be able to have any is straight of crude. They could of sat around and chatted then let him go somewhere while they eat.

  • Congrats Kenny!! But I can’t help seem to think you did this on your own & the doctors only helped you lose weight in your wallet. But hey a wins a win, sincerely impressive. I tip my hat to you good sir.

  • Why did he stop at BMI 41? Thats a morbidly obese BMI classification. I think he should have continued the fasting until he reach BMI 25, even if that means fashion for 60 are days. He is still morbidly obese. And where are the daily workouts? Did he miss that part?

  • I’ve heard the later stages of starvation can be quite euphoric and death by starvation can be quite blissful. don’t know how true that is, but you know.

  • After you get through that hangry phase it’s not that bad, I mean you just gotta apologize to people you get hangry with but it should be good

  • This video came up on a perfect time. Very inspiring. Thank you.
I’m currently doing a Semi Hard Dry Fast and planning to transition into a water fast, then to juices, and then a vegetarian keto intermittent fasting lifestyle.

Any advice?

  • How about the journalist that went on a hunger strike and lost alot of weight for example Abdullah Al Shammi this is true proof this video is a lie

  • Most prople that actually fast or eat a ketogenic diet would disagree with you on how ketosis effects mood. Most people find it pretty great. Many people are finding relief from various mental illnesses on a ketogenic metabolism, not just epilepsy.

  • why is the video called starving yourself, but then you start to talk about people eating less??? your video is a load of crap useless WRONG information.

  • I didn’t eat anything yesterday and I didn’t drink water. I was mostly in my room. It’s 4:13 am right now. I’m waiting it to be 5am so I can get a cup of water. Also my stomach and shoulder hurt, and near my chest like the right side.

  • There is so much wrong with this video, its sad. Sad because so many people watched it and believed it to be fact. Please research yourself and disregard this video

  • Yep. The pressure to lose weight at a young age can reap significant negative consequences later in life. As someone who was obese as a child, I subconsciously learned that my body and my desires were wrong and deformed, that I lacked self control and was unhealthy. It made me want to starve myself, and I did. I felt like I had something to prove. I needed everyone to know I was not lazy or gluttonous or out of control. It’s really unfortunate, Bc I know everyone who tried to encourage my weight loss as a child did so with he best of intentions. I do not blame them for what happened, it is just a sad consequence of the wrong message being implanted early.

  • I used to be 110 kg and in a year i dropped to 65kg. I’m right now battling with mental and eating disorders that i dont know how to deal with… im really dtruggling right now, and its worse than when i was obese. I was happy back then, now i hate myself and my body.

  • 1:13:58 Don’t. I see BIG women as beautiful. A big woman with confidence is honestly one of the sexiest things on Earth. Not even gonna lie.

  • I’m 4’3″ and 14 years old… I’m January of this year I was 80 pounds now (in june) I am 32 pounds. I weigh less than my 5 year old brother. But people just think I’m normal because I tell them I weigh 60 pounds.

Take care!

  • A lot of truth, but a blaring neglect of speaking about the overwhelmingly positive benefits of fasting. What he referred to as the third stage of starvation is only the beginning of starvation. Prior to that is your body coming into balance

  • Us Muslim been fasting 30 days in a year in between we fast few days weekly depends how strict you follow the religion. It’s good for the body. So we knew this over 1400 years ago.

  • I did this when I was younger starved myself to loose weight and lost 40 pounds in three months and was happy with myself and started eating normally and I have something called fatty liver cause my medication I was taking at the time hurt my liver when i took them

  • I told my mother im staveing my self haveint eat anything in 2 or 3 days my mom crys why u doing this i said cause i dont ha e to deal pain no more shes crying right

  • He can do it I did 60 days it works just be consistent. Results are mind blowing and you have to continue it for a while after to keep the weight off. Enjoy and keep off the scale

  • I would put money that coming back from Catabolysis in particular drastically reduces ones lifespan. Have fun dying of ‘old age’ in your 40’s anorexic people. >_>

  • What do you do if you cannot digest fruits and vegetables, they irritate my gut,it is assumed everyone can eat “healthy stuff” some of us cannot.

  • I’m freaking out… I was trying on a pair of pants that I haven’t worn since like March (before the pandemic) and they felt tight. After that I was looking at a old tik tok of mine when I was wearing those pants and they fit way better back then

    I’M FREAKING OUT

  • I lost 12kg in the first 15 days. Now I’m on day 23 and my weight hasn’t changed. This is so frustrating. Its hard enough as it is, but when I haven’t lost any weight in 8 days of water fasting. It makes me feel like giving up.

  • I have been in ketosis with weekly “normal food” breaks for years.
I was an athletic youth, but 40 years later I feel even better. The “cheating” takes care of the “grumps”.
I am thin, happy and feel great. Plus i get my pizza. Judge yourself.

  • People say I’m very skinny and thin…

But when I look in the mirror…
I see nothing but an obese/overweight….

People may say I’m very lucky to have so many people that care….

What I see are people that are forced to stop me from feeling what i feel because they get payed… not because they want too.. because they have to… make a living for themselves and for their family…

People say Im lucky I’m happy…

When all I ever feel inside is emptiness and worrying…

  • That’s what happened to me I was a bit chunky then I lost 40 lbs and loved it but couldnt stop because of my restrictive eating which lead to anorexia then I tried recovery which now lead me to bulimia

  • This happened to me. Went from 198lbs to 129 lbs. I was 5’6 and still in a healthy weight but I had anorexia. My health was deteriorating by the day and my body was starting to give. I’m so thankful that I got help and have now been in recovery for 3 months now

  • I just did water fasting for 7 days and lose almost 7kg that’s unbelievable it’s was not so tough as I thought guys go for it but most important is refeeding process do not go for junk orelse your efforts will be useless

  • This video should have more views, everyone told me in the past that it was great that i was loosing weight but i wasnt eating and my hair was falling, is not about the looks, is about the mental health

  • My mom thinks its ok because i’m not underweight yet and we’ll deal with it when i’m underweight. I told my therapist I struggle to eat and my mom didn’t seem happy.

  • Worth it, I just wanna lose weight. Can’t find any pictures of girls that are skinny enough to use as motivation so I’m looking at the opposite (obeast). Not sure if that’s helping either but whatevz.

  • I dry fast for 2 days and i feel grest. No cognitive impairment. Its actually the opposite. Whoever made this video is saf and is part of the evil big pharma and their minions

  • … I’m prepping for a 28 day fast* (overweight enough it’s entirely safe).

  • Questioning one detail: Ketosis makes you grumpy. I was in a Ketosis diet for about a year and I felt great. Better than when I’m on normal diet. Surprised there are no studies on that issue.

  • Wow!!!

  • I became bulimic at 11. Im 27 now and have always had a bad relationship with food. People ALWAYS commented on my weight growing up

  • It’s easier just to not eat than to eat veggies. That just gives me more weight. And I’m too lazy to exercise. I just want to be skinny like everyone else.

  • This video should have more views, everyone told me in the past that it was great that i was loosing weight but i wasnt eating and my hair was falling, is not about the looks, is about the mental health

  • Why eating nothing? You can eat unlimited amount of tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, carrots etc…seasoned with lemon or lime juice. There is no fat, sugar, carbs…no calories there and your stomach is full.

  • That’s what happened to me I was a bit chunky then I lost 40 lbs and loved it but couldnt stop because of my restrictive eating which lead to anorexia then I tried recovery which now lead me to bulimia

  • After losing about 15 kilos in about 2 months with very minimal workout.. I gained it all back + extra 5 kilos:) am considering stop eating for good JK

  • Exactly what happened to me. I started off as an obese 15 year old then a hospitalised 16 year old because of not eating. When I have kids I’m going to teach them to have a healthy relationship with food.

  • My psychiatrist said I didn’t have anorexia because I didn’t meet the weight range. I was then admitted to hospital because my heart almost stopped.

  • I love everyone reading this because if your seeing this. Be careful. you may be going down a rocky path right now. You got this but please please be careful. Your beautiful for who you are. See.. are you trying to loose weight for yourself or for other people.

  • Evolution has made the human body so energy efficient no wonder it’s a pain to loose weight if only the body was like my 10miles to the gallon truck it will be much easier to loose weight … it’s been two years did u gain it all back?????

  • Remember to always consult your doctor before attempting a water fast, because doing it wrong is dangerous. For some people, doing it at all is dangerous. Please don’t harm your body especially if you are growing by trying something incorrectly. Remember that there are plenty of healthy ways to lose weight and water fasting is not the only option.

  • I can live severely calorie restricted and have gone 5 days without eating, but I don’t think I could fast with my current lifestyle. The fatigue and brain fog is so bad during fasting I’d never be able to work and go to school full time without my grades and productivity deteriorating.

  • First-time weight losers, I’m telling you from experience that Colin is exactly right when he says “when you lose weight for the first time it’s never going to be easier than that time”. Please don’t starve yourself or do anything extreme to rush the weight off. It will just lead to binge eating and weight regain.

  • i had a surgery not to lose weight but when i did i didn’t eat anything and everyone was telling me i looked good cause i was losing weight and my face was getting sunk in it was bad but everyone told me i looked good so i keep doing it

  • not eating makes you loose so much weight i hate how theyre calling it anorexia i have to have monthliy apointments cause i dont eat much

  • So many damn ingredients. Keep it simple( oatmeal, cinnamon, green apple ) for carbs, whole eggs and olive oils for protein and fats. Drink a glass of water before your coffee. And exercise 3-6 times a week depending on your fitness level. Strength training or muscle training is more important than cardio. Muscle training burns calories during your workout and has that after burn effect because of soreness and recovery. Most people want that quick fix or the easy way out. Work on your nutrition before your commitments to exercising. It’s easy to under eat calories with whole foods so be careful, you might hurt your metabolism. I build muscles then go on cuts. But every 8 to 10 days on my cuts I do a refeeding day or days usually 2. To reset my mind mentally and to boost my metabolism. There is no secret pill, the key I believe is consistency in your exercising and nutrition and more importantly, patients. I still eat so called bad foods, hamburgers, fastfood, icecream, etc. But in moderation, about 2-3 times a month. Another key point is boosting your metabolism for the holidays. Not some stupid gut bacteria, easy way out, sort term solution. And sweeteners are okay, they use studies for mice eating 5lbs of sweetener for 30 days, a 150lbs person would have to eat 300lbs of sweeteners for 30 days for it to have any devastating, life altering effects. Did l also mention I went from 290lbs to 185lbs from Dec.26,2017. I did this using sweeteners to replace sugars, strength training and using complex carbs, healthy fats and lean proteins, (whole foods) to boost my metabolism, I never even heard of gut bacteria in all my research of nutrition. DR. OZ is a commerical Doctor, he’s into health business not health science. So please be careful and eat enough food so you don’t hurt your metabolism.

  • This is very true, if you are tryning to lose weight it is not a matter of not eating, it is a matter of eating healthy and cutting out junk food

  • My dad tells me that I look like a cow and that I should be slim and sexy like models he said that I’m never going to get married if I don’t it kinda sucks

  • people carnt eat chicken or burgers these days without having bacon as well,,that is so greedy i want to shout out how evil that is

  • Ugh… I started out large and then the weight went off… and then I would binge eat and then slowly lose weight again…
    I just don’t know what to do…

  • The only time I eat is at dinner since that is when I sit down with my parents and eat. My friend told me don’t starve yourself since she’s done it before, but I didn’t listen. It hurt seeing all my chubby friend start to loose weight yet nothing happened to me and I was really uncomfortable being around skinny people.

  • Been there and even now in my twenties, I’m still trying to gain confidence in myself. Tryna be optimistic about how else but in a save way to lose weight

  • Congrats Kenny!! But I can’t help seem to think you did this on your own & the doctors only helped you lose weight in your wallet. But hey a wins a win, sincerely impressive. I tip my hat to you good sir.

  • I don’t do any cakes or sweets before during and after Xmas, I feel better that way because I don’t put weight on than I have no worries stress losing it

  • I love everyone reading this because if your seeing this. Be careful. you may be going down a rocky path right now. You got this but please please be careful. Your beautiful for who you are. See.. are you trying to loose weight for yourself or for other people.

  • I’m so proud of him but to be honest 278 pounds is still way heavy u got to weight in about 190 or 200 pounds to be a heathy person at your age

  • just watch the cooking shows, every meal is loaded with bacon, cheese, fat. and Drs love it, instead of telling people to lay off the fat, the salt, the sugar, processed foods, they reach for the prescription pad  and schedule an extra office  visit,, it’s a win win for them

  • I lost 12kg in the first 15 days. Now I’m on day 23 and my weight hasn’t changed. This is so frustrating. Its hard enough as it is, but when I haven’t lost any weight in 8 days of water fasting. It makes me feel like giving up.

  • Worth it, I just wanna lose weight. Can’t find any pictures of girls that are skinny enough to use as motivation so I’m looking at the opposite (obeast). Not sure if that’s helping either but whatevz.

  • Evolution has made the human body so energy efficient no wonder it’s a pain to loose weight if only the body was like my 10miles to the gallon truck it will be much easier to loose weight … it’s been two years did u gain it all back?????

  • I just did water fasting for 7 days and lose almost 7kg that’s unbelievable it’s was not so tough as I thought guys go for it but most important is refeeding process do not go for junk orelse your efforts will be useless

  • While anorexia is a problem, not eating temporarily to loose weight is not. As long as you start eating healthy amounts after the weight loss, it’s not a bad thing and it’s not anorexia.

  • What happens when you starve yourself

    after 1 day, normal

    after 1 week, tired

after 1 month, worse than where you started

  • In 7th and 8th I was half bulimic. Puked a lot and didn’t eat any food except milk water and supper. Went out for track and wrestling and was always tired now I’m overweight again at 20. Hitting the gym but god damn sugar and beer oof. 175 now

  • I’m so proud of him but to be honest 278 pounds is still way heavy u got to weight in about 190 or 200 pounds to be a heathy person at your age

  • FYI: Body wraps acid cells in fat to protect the body.
If you wanna lose fat, a change in mindset (by forgiving past trauma/ letting it go) and adopting a wholesomely beautiful disposition will work wonders.

  • Most prople that actually fast or eat a ketogenic diet would disagree with you on how ketosis effects mood. Most people find it pretty great. Many people are finding relief from various mental illnesses on a ketogenic metabolism, not just epilepsy.

  • I am a freshman in high school growing up ever since I was six years old I was obese. It really takes a toll on you. I’m an anorexic going into recovery soon I went from 151 pounds to 135 in a month which is double what you should lose making healthy decisions.

  • How about the journalist that went on a hunger strike and lost alot of weight for example Abdullah Al Shammi this is true proof this video is a lie

  • After losing about 15 kilos in about 2 months with very minimal workout.. I gained it all back + extra 5 kilos:) am considering stop eating for good JK

  • i eat 600 calories a day and i do a lot of strength training and cardio will i still lose a lot of muscle since im training to bring it up

  • I fasted for a week and lost 10 pounds. It’s kinda bad the first few days but after the first 3 days it should be easier to continue without food and fast. At least for me

  • Us Muslim been fasting 30 days in a year in between we fast few days weekly depends how strict you follow the religion. It’s good for the body. So we knew this over 1400 years ago.

  • How about then dieting hard for 3 weeks until your body starts to adopt and then have a week of break where you eat at maintenance level? And then repeat this cycle…

  • Why eating nothing? You can eat unlimited amount of tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, carrots etc…seasoned with lemon or lime juice. There is no fat, sugar, carbs…no calories there and your stomach is full.

  • The ‘doctor’ at the 1 hour 9 minute mark is wrong. Telling people who starve themselves will eventually stop losing weight because of a slow metabolism. So he has never seen people who are starving all over the world look?

  • Awful. Associating using fat storage as starvation. It only called fasting. This is a harmful and misleading video and should be taken down

  • No artificial sweeteners, gluten. (Leads ro inflammation so NO)
Start w high Fiber fat protien berries, hemp seed, stevia, coconut oil, almond butter cinnamon, chia seeds warm water.

Swap gluten free carbs for these ones!-fistsized. (Whole grains prebiotics fiber nurtures gut bacteria to tolerate carbs & reset gut) space without lunch dinner
Teff, amyranth, quinoa, wild rice pasta, whole grain buckwheat (doesn’t have wheat in it)
4 cups prE-biotic fibers the vegetsbles of any cruciferous (broccoli, cauliflower allium garlic onions leeks, fibers etc. Peppers.
And of course they dont finish what else you can eat in the video

  • I don’t do any cakes or sweets before during and after Xmas, I feel better that way because I don’t put weight on than I have no worries stress losing it

  • If you want to leave a comment about this not being true, please watch the video before commenting. A lot of people are missing the point and I want to make sure you understand how it actually happens.
