Homemade PROTEIN BARS Recipe (Easy & Healthy)

Isomalto-oligosaccharides (IMOs) Far and away, the most common type of fiber you’re likely to encounter in protein bars is Isomalto-oligosaccharides, IMOs for short. It’s also found under that trademarked name of VitaFiber™, and came to popularity when Quest bars debuted on the market several years ago. The fiber of choice these days for protein bar companies is something called Isomalto Oligosaccharide Fiber (or IMO fiber for short). The good thing about this is that fiber acts as a protection for protein.

More fiber means the protein will be in your system for longer periods of time, meaning your cells receive an influx of amino acids for a greater length of time. The bars cost $28 for a box of 20, and so are also much better priced than the majority of protein bars. They.

The most common types of fibers you’ll find in fiber bars are acacia fiber, tapioca fiber, chicory root and inulin. “Most of these fibers are known as prebiotics, aka food for probiotics, and have been associated positively with gut health,” Gans says. This bar also has two other interesting ingredients: soy lecithin and chicory root fiber. Chicory root fiber is a plant-based fiber your body cannot digest. It’s also cheap, clocks in at zero calories, and has a naturally sweet taste [ * ]. Atkins Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar is a top-rated low-carb protein bar with a low number of net carbs and a high amount of fiber.

The protein blend. Common bar ingredients like oats or nuts can naturally provide a few grams of fiber, but food manufacturers typically use what’s called added fiber to dramatically boost a. 15. kind protein caramel nut bar (12 pack) Protein: 12g; Sugar: 8g; Fiber: 5g; Fat: 17g; Carbs: 18g; Calories: 240; We’ve long loved Kind bars as an on-the-go snack, but did you know the brand has a separate, protein-packed line? This one contains a tasty blend of rich caramel, whole almonds and peanuts.

Also a heads-up that these babies are. Some of the protein in the bar comes from soy protein isolate, a highly processed ingredient. Kind bars carry a “good source of fiber” claim.

The. Cookie dough is a stacked flavor category for protein bars, but the salted caramel adds an interesting jolt to regular old sweetness. You’ll net 20 grams of protein and six grams of fiber for 230.

  • Gonna try these! I am a dedicated, committed rugby player who’s going to the gym too, so nutrition is a big deal for me. Skipping processed food as much as possible is one of the things I try to follow, so I’m very happy that I’m about to switch the processed protein bars which I buy online, with real ingrediënts:). Thanx in advance!

  • I miss your vlogs and what u eat in a day. I’m trying to keep up with the mad fit workouts, but sometimes they’re hard to do lol

  • I’m in keto right now and I shouldn’t have watched this keep the vids up tho man, love your content and thanks for inspiring me to become who I am right now

  • Watch out with vitafiber, it is not what they’re marketing it for, in the ends that “fiber” converts to sugar, causing insulin and glucose spikes, because that “fiber” can be digested. Google isomalto-oligosaccharides and easacademy.org, you can also find other not-broscience sites that debunk vitafiber’s claims. I know, it was too good to be true.

  • Wonderful recipe, I want to make more but I wanted to be in a caloric deficit and I know I’m going to eat a lot of these when I get hungry, would you recommend if I reduced the amount of oatmeal by one cup or would that worsen the texture?

  • This shit taste like soap you better try the think bars and pure protein bars we don’t even touch the one you ate they are so bad please make a review of think peanut butter bars you can have some slim fast vanilla milk shake twice a day

  • “i realized that a lot of these protein bars are packed with a lot of unnecessary and unhealthy ingredients.”. Such as diabetes and heart disease causing carbs and sugar. So instead I made my own protein bars packed with…. oats… so carbs… Good job. Now you can give yourself home made diabetes, heart disease and tooth decay.

  • I recently found your FB page and youtube channel and I am obsessed with your videos.  I am so thrilled for this particular recipe and cant wait to try it.  Thank you so much for all the info you provide in your videos.  Great job!!

  • GET THESE GREAT DEALS ON PROTEIN BARS WHILE THEY LAST AT *BARGAIN WAGON** EBAY STORE CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS TOO!!! https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=protein+bars&LH_PrefLoc=2&_ssn=barginwagon&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2046732.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xprotein+.TRS0&_nkw=protein+&_sacat=0

  • just cooked these but put way too much water in them (used water instead of milk) so ended up putting in oven at 160 for 10 mins and they look ok now

  • Its kinda sad. This is basically the same bake recipe ive been using for years. Ill never understand the processed protein fad. ( obviously getting paid ) by the protein powder guys. This is my worry about this sheeple generation. Complete ignorance. I add eggs and nuts for protein and bake. I was watching only wondering what pretty girls backside looks like. Then wondering if they make there own private movies…..js what everyone is thinking…protein powders are processed food people. Incomplete protien

  • ‘We want things things that come from our kitchen and not the lab’
My kitchen is filled with instant noodles and chocolate, are u fucking sure about that woman?

  • O.O WTF!!!!! I can not find the words to express how stupid I feel right now.  I completely gave up on proteins bars because I couldnt find one that had the levels of protein, fiber, sugar, salt, fat & calories that I wanted. So I spent weeks reading nutrional information on thousands of different protein bars. It never occured to me, to simply make it myself & if that wasnt bad enough, to see how fucking easy it is to make for yourself means: O.O jaw in lap Thanks ALOT for the video & recipe, you just got a subscriber with only a 7min & 20seconds video.

  • These turned out perfect! Thank you! I didn’t have dates, so I mashed a banana, and I ended up using about 1/2 a cup of coconut oil.

  • Maddie my teen daughter suggested this video and made these bars to give her the energy needed to get through a full day of dance. Taste was great, although my daughter thought ot was too “proteiny” so maybe we’ll make it with only 1 scoop of protein and add vanilla extract next time. BUT my question is does yours stick to your mouth like a big ball of peanut buttee? Ours did and i had put in less PB i think. Any suggestions? I am thinking maybe not blending the oats next time idk.

  • I’ve seen all these kind messages from your fans telling you that “you’re beautiful” etc…but I get that they’re only words, and it’ll make you feel better in the moment…until you look at yourself in the mirror. Because the problem is your mindset, you gotta find a way to love yourself. I’m not saying it like it’s easy… Dont get me wrong everyone has ups and downs, I definitely do anyway!
I just hope you find it in you to be kinder to yourself:) We get enough judgement from society, let alone ourselves

Ps Sending everyone who is struggling with self love…LOVE! HERE Hope you all have a good day!!!

  • I just did a review on several branded protein bars and soy being a turn off. What is the average pricing to make 12 of these bars comparable to the quantity you can get by the box for the brands sold in retail locations? I may do an episode on making some myself. Thanks!

  • Girllll u are sooo beautiful and ur body is ur own kind of perfect you ARE NOT FAT!!!!!!!!!in also have REALLLY BAD ANXIETY. Ps the first time I watched ur videos I fell in love ur so bubbly and amazing and it would mean so much to me if u replied. ALso you and kryptic are actual GOALSSSSS

  • Hi Jared! My only suggestion would be to maybe try PB2 for half the amount of required PB. I’m not sure if this will work as I’ve never even tried PB2 but past comments suggest that it may. Hope this helps

  • I see Pop tarts in the back ground, you should come up with a healthy recipe for Poptarts. Do you know what is in those cookies? I thought body builders, were trying to be healthy and want to take care of their body? HFCS, is what your eating, in your protein bar, and your Pop tarts, not good bro.

  • Is there any way to make these without protein powder? Every recipe I find has it but I don’t have any and can’t get any right now. Is there a substitute?

  • Either you’ve got a gazillion flies in your kitchenette only you can see OR, you’re conducting an entire Orchestra only you can see. But please! Stop waving your arms like you’re giving directions trying to make a helicopter land on a pad. Geeezz!

  • Holy hell these are good. All of my friends love them too; definitely going to be a regular recipe for me. Thanks a ton man! Tried them with another flavours of protein that you’d recommend besides the vanilla?

  • While I watched this I was thinking, “No way am I making this, the mix will stick to my pans for life,” then I realized that I have Berghoff pans.

  • Wouldn’t be surprised if In years to come it will be discovered that, that vita fibre stuff makes you grow extra body parts. No sir

  • I’m going to try this out and shout you out on my channel and give it a taste test tomorrow! Ill make sure to give you credit as well! LETS DOOO ITTT!!

  • im trying to put on a bit more muscle, will these be good for after I exercise to help with that? The recipe seems wonderful, also how many calories if I leave out the chocolate, and do they taste just as good without it?

  • Nice, l really like the ingredients and how the over all result looks, l will try this out but one change l will do is just topping it off with a layer of chocolate l think.

  • No offense but you sound like an idiot. If I were you, I’d spend a lot more time focusing on improving your personality instead of focusing on your appearance.

  • Love to make my own müsli and protein bars just to refuse all the small plastic wrappers… Thanks for the recipe.. gosh they look soo delicious I really want to eat/make them soon for my next hiking trip:D

  • is there anyway i could lessen the amount of calories while still keeping the volume of the bars? thanks..loving your channel definitely subscribed right off the bat

  • OMG I did a similar version to your recipe and it’s soooooo delicious. I could barely stop eating more than 1 bar/day lol. Thank you for sharing Madie! ♥️

  • UPDATE: i made them with chocolate whey and hazelnut butter instead of peanut butter and they are delicious

    .
Has anyone tried this with chocolate whey? I don’t have vanilla

  • Just an advice, if you stop swearing the video will be much nicer. I think when you swear it’s like a habit but it will Ruin your mood without realising it.

  • I just did a review on several branded protein bars and soy being a turn off. What is the average pricing to make 12 of these bars comparable to the quantity you can get by the box for the brands sold in retail locations? I may do an episode on making some myself. Thanks!

  • tried making these and i couldnt even pick up a hole bar, i even left them in the fridge over night and they were still mushy on the bottom?

  • Just wanted to say you have subscribers all over Europe as well. The world is not only US and UK. Why not consider having some kind of affiliation regarding the products

  • its kinda cold here in southern cali. so I’m wondering what would happen if I add a little baking powder and bake like half of that batch. hmmmm. cookies perhaps? I’ll give it a try. Nonetheless, thank you RJF!

  • Interesting. You don’t buy protein bars that you haven’t made yourself but the protein you add for the bars wasn’t made by you
Nice last name, we have a whisky named that in Aus. It’s enough to make me try the bars ✌️

  • Nice to finally see a bodybuilder who is conscious about using almost all natural ingredients! Just stumbled on upon your videos after whirlwind protein baking. I love to see the finished product and macros. Also, so many recipes are written so poorly that no pan size or serving size is mentioned! When you’re counting macros that isn’t helpful at all. Not here, you answer all of my questions. Keep up the good work!

  • While I watched this I was thinking, “No way am I making this, the mix will stick to my pans for life,” then I realized that I have Berghoff pans.

  • So simple & the basics ingredients are always in the cupboard, just add whey & get Almond milk instead, & a lot less expensive & keep making them.

  • Use the Code “MP33979577” on http://www.myprotein.com and then we will win both. You’ll get additional 5% discount on your order and i will get additional friend rewards on myprotein.com. Thanks for your support and effort!:-)

  • Remington, can I use this http://www.odzywki-olimp.pl/olimp-sojavit-85-700-g-p-4661.html englih wersion on link) to make your Homemade Protein Bars?? I`m vegan….Olimp is a Polish company.

  • Hey, so just a pro tip for anyone that wants to make these in bulk which is what most people are going to be doing anyway. You can put this into a kitchen aid mixer and then take the “dough” out and put this into a kitchen aid roller. Another idea would be to obviously use a rolling pin but the kitchen aid is much easier.

And for those that get reallllly into this, yes, these freeze dry very well and you can even use a freeze dried powder of fruits and vegetables. You can even make homemade freeze dried jam, turn that into a powder, get the peanut butter whey protein, and make a peanut butter and jelly protein bar. You can add nuts, etc

    Have fun!

  • awesome recipe..i have a stupid question to ask.. can i use water instead of the milk.. just so the bars have a longer shelf life????

  • man ur just awesome, i just have one question for u, i have already protein with cookies and crame taste, do i need to add those oreos or just add the protein and this vitafiber

  • i think i have anorexia and anemia tbh cuz ion eat anything for breakfast or lunch. when i get up i get like so dizzy and i feel like passing out 24/7 and i’m vegan so i don’t rlly eat that many calories. i eat like 500 calories a day

  • I’ve made these for years, if you guys haven’t tried them ya should, good with water too, and chocolate powder or whatever floats your boat. Another awesome video:)

  • Thanks for doing the macros I hate doing that math. And it has a lot of protein especially compared to other “protein” bars you get in the store.

  • I recently found your FB page and youtube channel and I am obsessed with your videos.  I am so thrilled for this particular recipe and cant wait to try it.  Thank you so much for all the info you provide in your videos.  Great job!!

  • hi im from australia. our bars cost $3.95 a piece. this is such a great recipe
thing is we dont have vita fiber/ and sweet it wont ship here.
what can i use to replace it?

  • Good recipe, I used steel cut oats and cookies n cream protein powder from Costco… carbs are a little high but this tastes better than Quest or any other bar I’ve come across

  • Per bar:
    Fats 4g
    Carbs 49g
    Protein 20g
    4×9=36 calories from fats
    49×4= 196 calories from carbs
    20×4= 80 calories from fats
    Total: 312 calories per bar

Are the macros wrong in the video or are the calories calculated wrong?

  • Man i gotta try this recipe, just without the raisins and chocolate chips as u said cuz they add up a sugar which i dont need and also calories, cuz i was looking to get around 200 250 per bar. That is the snack amount i need in between meals. Awesome video, i love all ur recipes keep it going man

  • I’m so happy that you are talking about this There are soooooo many fitness food supplements out there. So confusing!! That’s why I started my own Fit Food review YouTube channel.

  • Really good and a great option to buying commercial bars. One question……..it seemed like a lot stuck to the pan that I couldn’t get out. Any suggestions? Pam, maybe?

  • I think I’ll just save some money and buy the pre-packaged bars I’m not buying that expensive ass bottle of fiber all of these videos seem to require it

  • An adjustable measuring cup with plunger will make dispensing sticky stuff like peanut butter and honey way easier on camera for you (Alton Brown uses it in Good Eats). Here’s one:  http://www.oxo.com/p-1240-2-cup-adjustable-measuring-cup.aspx. Thanks for the recipes, very well done channel!

  • hi im from australia. our bars cost $3.95 a piece. this is such a great recipe
thing is we dont have vita fiber/ and sweet it wont ship here.
what can i use to replace it?

  • A suggestion: use raspberries instead of raisins because raspberries have the lowest sugar content of all fruits and berries, almost half of raisin content. I like this recipe. I just made my own protein bars yesterday. I’ve never seen the egg protein in anyplace I shop. Where did you buy it?

  • Man i gotta try this recipe, just without the raisins and chocolate chips as u said cuz they add up a sugar which i dont need and also calories, cuz i was looking to get around 200 250 per bar. • OMG I did a similar version to your recipe and it’s soooooo delicious. I could barely stop eating more than 1 bar/day lol. Thank you for sharing Madie! ♥️

  • Bro how do I know how to seperate the bars. I did my macros the calories, carbs, fats and protein already but I’m trying to seperate the bars so I can put on the food scale and seperate it but I’m a bit confused

  • These tasted too good, my mom and sister ate them when I was at work! The ones that were left were great though, going to make more this week

  • Love to make my own müsli and protein bars just to refuse all the small plastic wrappers… Thanks for the recipe.. gosh they look soo delicious I really want to eat/make them soon for my next hiking trip:D

  • You can gain weight with pretty much anything if you eat enough of it but these are calorie dense so yes, they are good. 140 calories less in the whole recipe and yes they taste delicious without them too!:) Thanks for the comment Safari

  • Hi Ms. Michi, I found this video while looking for the judge who said licenses are required to give nutrition advice. So, technically, I’m not giving nutrition advice, but I am relaying information I’ve learned from research. *You* don’t have an eating disorder so go easy on yourself. It is very possible your enzyme and cellular energy systems are out of wack, though, and this dysregulation could be causing the “eating disorder effect” *You* are perceiving. Just remember, it isn’t **You**. Regarding anxiety, we are all pretty much magnesium deficient, and magnesium is the quintessential “chill pill.” I take about 800 mg magnesium daily. I hear women tend to do well with about 600 mg magnesium. IIWY (If I were you I’m just making stuff up now), I’d probably start at 100 mg and work my way up in 100 mg increments over the course of a month or two. I really like my magnesium bicarbonate (magnesium water) that I make with 2 liters of seltzer water (carbon dioxide being the only ingredient on the label) with magnesium hydroxide from BulkSupplements.com. Startpage.com search how to make it it is pretty easy, but it is not as simple as mix-and-go. Magnesium malate and magnesium glycinate are excellent forms of magnesium (for most people) that will allow you to be “firm” in your resolve to elevate your magnesium levels in your red blood cells to 6.5 mg/dl (BTW, the medical reference ranges are based on people in the hospital how “sick” is that? I want healthy reference targets, not the average range of mostly sick people now ya know!).

Anxiety and stress changes your body’s mineral dynamics for the worse unless it is short term stress (magnesium, B-vitamins, and other nutrients skedaddle rather quickly). So make sure to work on a “chill” mindset. Everything will be OK in The End, even if it is rough between now and The End. I really found value in a book called “Your Erroneous Zone” for promoting a productive and low stress mindset. Abebooks.com probably has a used copy cheap.

My path is focused on wellness, surprise, surprise, but a good weight and wellness tend to align over time. If you are weight focused, intermittent fasting can be a powerful tool. It also promotes wellness in that the body will prioritize the decommissioning and replacing of damaged cells and tissues if the digestive process is rested long enough. A good place to start is 13 hours with no food and 11 hours with food. Once you are comfortable, ratchet it down an hour. Wash, rinse, repeat until you get down to 15 off / 9 on, or even 16 off / 8 on. I dropped a quick 20 lbs of fat as I gained strength (so I didn’t lose muscle). I’m in my 50’s and weigh less now than I did in high school about 155-160 lbs.

For a person who seems to be interested in “losing weight,” my only comment is that you are in a great starting position. About 98% of the “I wanna lose weight” population is worse off than you and often by a LOT! Maybe even two of you. So count your blessings. Do the best you can with a pure spirit and that’s good enough. Go to sleep, rest up, reset, and keep on truckin’ the next day.

Also, I’d minimize those bars. According to Dr. Ray Peat, dehydrating protein damages portions of almost all proteins. You probably want quality proteins embedded in your cell membranes. Just eat real food or at least make that your goal and take small, no stress steps to getting there.

Another pro tip is to avoid all “fortified” foods. The iron in those food-like substances is, according to rigorous scientific research, reaping havoc on our bodies. Search “Iron Behaving Badly Douglass B. Kell” and read his research that helped get him knighted by the British Empire. Another great resource is Morley Robbins’ Youtube video called “My Theory of Everything.” It is pretty straightforward, but significant results have been obtained by respecting the principles he outlines. I’d check those bars for iron content. Anything much over 6% makes me think long and hard about ingesting it (assuming that 6% isn’t fortified if it is inorganic fortified iron, I’ll leave it alone). Iron in tissues (where it isn’t measured -> oxidative stress -> inflammation -> cells, tissues, and organs become damaged).

One last quick piece of non-nutritional advice some people have had excellent results drinking primarily quality water. I drink Crystal Geyser about 3/4 of a gallon a day.

Good luck! I’m off to find a video about how the new “land of the free, home of the brave” means ordinary people can’t share research-based nutrition information (so the propaganda nonsense persists all the longer) with other people without being under legal threat. With that in mind, none of the above is nutritional advice from me. Apply your common sense, do your own due diligence, and do what you will. If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to share any resources that might help to answer them.

I do have one piece of advice, though. If your “medical professional” doesn’t ask you about your eating habits, move off their “island” and get together with a medical professional that understands the primary role of nutrients (including minerals) in the body’s biochemistry.

  • Seems like a lot of VitaFiber. Half of that would probably be more than enough, if you look at Quest Bars, they have like 15g of fiber, so they probably use 20-30ml instead of 80ml. This stuff is pretty expensive, so try less.

  • I have suffered from an eating disorder for 4 years. So painful and distressing. I hope you learn to love yourself. You seem so sweet and genuine! Subscribed xox

  • Really good and a great option to buying commercial bars. One question……..it seemed like a lot stuck to the pan that I couldn’t get out. Any suggestions? Pam, maybe?

  • Oh my god I relate to you so much about having the weird ED symptom and it’s not good so it could better but it used to be “worse”

  • Wonderful recipe, I want to make more but I wanted to be in a caloric deficit and I know I’m going to eat a lot of these when I get hungry, would you recommend if I reduced the amount of oatmeal by one cup or would that worsen the texture?

  • Why do not post the proteins/carbs/fats and calories count??? I’ve done my own and it’s REALLY not a protein bar…. With the exact same ingredients, if I divide by 10 bars, it’s 26g of carbs, 16g of fat and 11g of proteins. It’s even worst than a normal bar that we can found at the grocery store…. What a fake advertising here, I’m really disappointed.

  • Sorry I’m just an idiot, just never understand when people call a bar a protein bar when they always seem to be composed mostly of carbohydrates?

  • Maddie my teen daughter suggested this video and made these bars to give her the energy needed to get through a full day of dance. • Just made these using Almond Milk (original unsweetened) instead of fat free milk. Also, using Caramel Pretzel Pro7ein powder. No berries, but added almond slices. Ate a bar… Wow! Honestly this is an amazing recipe. Just not sure if I should store in fridge? Or outside. GREAT WORK. Will subscribe!

  • I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this video. i am going to make these as soon as I get home. (I am an over the road truck driver). Remington, I travel through your neck of the woods quite often and would love to meet you. Heck, i would even spring for Chipotle!!

  • Good recipe, I used steel cut oats and cookies n cream protein powder from Costco… carbs are a little high but this tastes better than Quest or any other bar I’ve come across

  • Made these this morning, I’ve tried almost all the protein bars in stores and for taste this was definitely one of the best. Second only to metrx as far as I’m concerned.

  • These turned out perfect! Thank you! I didn’t have dates, so I mashed a banana, and I ended up using about 1/2 a cup of coconut oil.

  • Thanks,I’m a grade 6 learner and this year we need to make our own snack bar.You really helped me!I will use this as my snack bar! Thanks For Your Support!

  • hi im from australia. our bars cost $3.95 a piece. this is such a great recipe
thing is we dont have vita fiber/ and sweet it wont ship here.
what can i use to replace it?

  • just made these but used muscle feast chocolate whey protein and then for a little extra i used some amino energy cafe series vanilla coffee flavor great snack before my workouts

  • I just finished making these and only licked the spoon after mixing everything together. The taste was so good that I cannot wait till they are done cooling off so I can have a full bar! PHENOMENAL recipe!!!

  • You realy need to start manufacturing your own snacks for business I’ve been following for a very long time I hope I can offer you a formulation for industrial uses
    Keep up thanks

  • When it was all warped I actually see my stomach that way in the picture and the video when it was all squiggly anyways I’m gonna try high-protein diet and workouts and some water.

  • The problem with protein bars today is they are tooooo dammmmm sweet.

They adding caramel and chocolate and so much added sugar. I hate it.

These company’s need to stop making overly sweet protein bars. They should have more grams of protein than sugar.

It’s gotten rediculous. You might as well eat a snickers bar.

  • Hi! I love what you’re doing Maddie!!! ^_^ I’m just curious that peanut butter should be sweet? I imagined that it is salty, but in stores there is always added sugar in it

  • Yasssss B! I love your cooking videos man they help so much. This practically like a cheaper Quest bar, gracias you’ll save me a lot of money.

  • Thanx for the videos man keep it up. speaking of bars have you tried no cow bar? the taste is decent but the nutrient fact are good on these bars.

  • I tried making these because I trusted the positive reviews. But I have to say, honesty, that they were not good at all. I’ll eat them just because I hate to waste the ingredients, but I won’t be making them again.

  • can I please tell you summin bisshhh not tryin to make you sad or anything but like your voice and the way you talk is so annoying you sound like a petty little bissshhh

  • eh throwing this in here so you will hopefully cover this. Forbes just came out with all these lawsuits saying that companies are not actually putting in the advertised about of protein. sooo can you give us good protein that i can get the amount of protein per serving

  • Every other comment is a person asking what they can sub the Vita Fiber for.

He included a link where you can buy it, stop being so helpless, (unless you live somewhere where they don’t ship it, that’s legit).

  • Every other comment is a person asking what they can sub the Vita Fiber for.

  • Hi Jared! My only suggestion would be to maybe try PB2 for half the amount of required PB. I’m not sure if this will work as I’ve never even tried PB2 but past comments suggest that it may. Hope this helps

  • Lol you grabbed them out of the box so fast. Nice experiment and thanks for being vulnerable. You do not look a mess, you are pretty. Stop being such a bitch to yourself ❤️

  • Great video thanks …. How big are the scoops please? Or how much protein powder in cup measurements do I need please? Also what could I replace the peanut butter for? XXX

  • can tell me about good fats and how to lose bad fat? Also different ways to cook chicken to make more tastier as I don’t like the normal way.
    Thanks

  • I used almond butter instead and it tastes AMAZING!!
Also, I made my calculs and with a vanilla whey protein (30g prots per scoop) and non vegan semi-sweet chocolate chips(about 1/2 cup) it’s about:
    300-315g cals
    16-20g prots
    50mg sodium
    17g fat
    12g sugar
Per bar, for 9 bars, to make you an idea

  • Oh, this was hard to watch, though it did make me realize why my mental health took a nosedive when I “experimented” with a very, very, very dumbass diet not long ago. I really hope you’ve felt better since posting this video, and are continuing to recover. Best of luck dear, take care.

  • I like what you said they don’t taste healthy WOW!!
     Love
YUMMY… Making them as we speak, just found your channel on YouTube

  • i used mts peanut butter fluff + peanut butter mini oreos and they were awesome. pretty much as good if not better than quest bars. next im going to use mts red velvet with red velvet oreos, and then mint cookies and cream with mint oreos.

(and yes, i own a shit-ton of mts protein. it taste the best, and i buy it in bulk so i dont have to pay for shipping 5x, and so i dont have to drink the same flavor for a month straight.)

  • Sorry I’m just an idiot, just never understand when people call a bar a protein bar when they always seem to be composed mostly of carbohydrates?

  • Either you’ve got a gazillion flies in your kitchenette only you can see OR, you’re conducting an entire Orchestra only you can see. But please! Stop waving your arms like you’re giving directions trying to make a helicopter land on a pad. Geeezz!

  • Protein bars from shops and online are bloody disgusting. I recently bought choc oranage protein bars from MyProtein and its so hard to get down. It taste very bad and is not enjoyable to eat. 3/10
I think ill make my own protein bars from now, thanks for the video.
(if anyone knows some good tasting protein bars let me know, thanks)

  • I tried making these because I trusted the positive reviews. But I have to say, honesty, that they were not good at all. I’ll eat them just because I hate to waste the ingredients, but I won’t be making them again.

  • Interesting. You don’t buy protein bars that you haven’t made yourself but the protein you add for the bars wasn’t made by you
Nice last name, we have a whisky named that in Aus. It’s enough to make me try the bars ✌️

  • Kroger 2 for 3 for the win! lol! I couldn’t pass that up, bought 6 jars. Nice simple recipe man. Looking forward to more of those. . You should try Keto Fat Bombs. 2 tbs of Cocoa or to taste, 3 tbs butter, 4 tbs coconut oil, 3 tbs nut butter of your choice, stevia liquid sweetened to taste. Separate it in a muffin pan or any kind of sectioned dish like that throw int he freezer for 30 mins or so, Viola a super delicious treat with very minimum carbs protein and decent fat. For extra texture/flavor add a dash of unsweetened coconut on top before tossing in the freezer and add crunchy peanut butter instead smooth. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t! lol.

  • just cooked these but put way too much water in them (used water instead of milk) so ended up putting in oven at 160 for 10 mins and they look ok now

  • I used almond butter instead and it tastes AMAZING!!

  • Nice recipe sir! N loving the kitchen. Sayin that cause I cook all the time. thx for the recipe will give it a shot. I had way too many years of buying those CRAP bars on the market filled with garbage n low quality protein

  • Hi! I love what you’re doing Maddie!!! ^_^ I’m just curious that peanut butter should be sweet? I imagined that it is salty, but in stores there is always added sugar in it

  • any idea on a macro friendly “drizzle” that can spruce it up a bit? i was thinking like a chocolate/coconut oil based one…thoughts?

  • Ingredients:

    (Makes 9 bars)

✘ 1 + 1/3 cup rolled oats (use certified gluten free oats if gluten free)

    ✘ 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp hemp seeds

✘ 2 scoops of Vivo Life Vanilla Protein (or your favourite plant-based protein)

    ✘ 1 tsp ground cinnamon

    ✘ 3/4 tsp salt

    ✘ 4 medjool dates + 2-3 tbsp warm water

✘ 1/2 cup natural peanut butter

    ✘ 2 tbsp + 2 tsp maple syrup

✘ 2 tbsp melted coconut butter (or sub coconut oil)

  • tried making these and i couldnt even pick up a hole bar, i even left them in the fridge over night and they were still mushy on the bottom?

  • Hey if I have unflavored whey can I still use it in your recipes? Like for a recipe that you use vanilla, can I just add vanilla extract for the flavor?

  • Great video thanks …. How big are the scoops please? Or how much protein powder in cup measurements do I need please? Also what could I replace the peanut butter for? XXX

  • Your application style is wrong and it won’t be stable and the same real texture
35 % should be the binder liquid heating in stove to 101 c
Then adding the dry ingredients to the mixture 1 on the stove and mix until mixture compind and form to a dough with the stove should be clean
Lay down the mixture on surface and form it into bar shape
This style won’t need fridge and the bars will be stable and long shelf life

  • Its kinda sad. This is basically the same bake recipe ive been using for years. Ill never understand the processed protein fad. ( obviously getting paid ) by the protein powder guys. This is my worry about this sheeple generation. Complete ignorance. I add eggs and nuts for protein and bake. I was watching only wondering what pretty girls backside looks like. Then wondering if they make there own private movies…..js what everyone is thinking…protein powders are processed food people. Incomplete protien

  • looks great can’t wait to try I have a suggestion what if you use pbfit instead of regular peanut butter? U can cut the fat down drastically

  • Dude your channel is pretty cool. I got a lot of friends that are on diets and I showed them a few videos of yours and they really appreciated that. I saw your bacon cheeseburger video and I’m totally gonna try it

  • I’m about to try this tomorrow!! Super good!!! I’m doubting the nutrition lol. It taste too good to be true. Compared to what I think is the best tasting protein bar, Clif, which has more carbs than protein. Super delicious!! But don’t forget to spay ur pan!!! I did not and it’s a little sticky…

  • LOVE THIS!!! Thank you for being so real, raw and vulnerable. I hope people who struggle with ED watch this and realize that they’re not alone, that it’s okay to laugh at yourself, but more importantly: prioritize your mental/ physical health and take care of yourself. I love you sm, P! You’re my bestie, my wifey, and I’m so proud of all the work you put into this video❤️❤️

  • i used mts peanut butter fluff + peanut butter mini oreos and they were awesome. pretty much as good if not better than quest bars. next im going to use mts red velvet with red velvet oreos, and then mint cookies and cream with mint oreos.

  • Wouldn’t be surprised if In years to come it will be discovered that, that vita fibre stuff makes you grow extra body parts. No sir

  • Dude awesome recipe! I am gonna have to try this.

On a separate note, while researching Keto, did you find anything out about taking a pre-workout powder in the mornings only on the days you work out? I asked someone about this and they said not to because it could spike my blood sugar levels which would make it difficult to keto adapt. I tried Keto for 3 weeks but was so used to taking my pre-workout I didn’t have the energy to get up and go work out. I ended up losing no weight at all, most likely because I wasn’t active whatsoever during those 3 weeks. What do you think about taking a pre-workout while on Keto? I use the Gold Standard Watermelon powder. Thanks!

  • Im glad you chose those bars out of all others. Mostly because i know what youre eating since i handle the ingredients that go into quest bars and they are top of the line. You look great, hope youre eating normal now.

  • man ur just awesome, i just have one question for u, i have already protein with cookies and crame taste, do i need to add those oreos or just add the protein and this vitafiber

  • awesome recipe..i have a stupid question to ask.. can i use water instead of the milk.. just so the bars have a longer shelf life????

  • has anyone tried this recipe or any other homemade quest bar recipe?..are they an good?(are they sweet and yummy…taste like a quest bar?)…I am just wondering before I but the vitafiber syrup.

  • Why do not post the proteins/carbs/fats and calories count??? I’ve done my own and it’s REALLY not a protein bar…. With the exact same ingredients, if I divide by 10 bars, it’s 26g of carbs, 16g of fat and 11g of proteins. It’s even worst than a normal bar that we can found at the grocery store…. What a fake advertising here, I’m really disappointed.

  • Just made these using Almond Milk (original unsweetened) instead of fat free milk. Also, using Caramel Pretzel Pro7ein powder. No berries, but added almond slices. Ate a bar… Wow! • im trying to put on a bit more muscle, will these be good for after I exercise to help with that? The recipe seems wonderful, also how many calories if I leave out the chocolate, and do they taste just as good without it?

  • Hey! Look delicious!
This is my friend’s profil. She is new in the instagram so if you want to help and make someones day happy you can check and like:D She is making delicious dishes as well:D Check it out if you are hungry for new recipies.

  • I like how she says fruits and vegetables together, as if most fruits are healthy, yet says to stay away from sugar… She did not explain anything in a very insightful way, just repeated the same thing different ways. Obviously people arent relying on protein bars and shakes for food. she also doesn’t mention fat aside from it being added in bars… noone adds fat to bars, and noone adds unhealthy fats to shakes

  • If I am trying to build muscle mass but at the same time stay lean and have abs what should my macros be??? I am 186 pounds and 5,10

  • Ugh me no understand me american! (Throws protein powder) KAAAWKAAAAA!!! Freedom cry

But seriously great video. Glad I finally found a video with simple items that didn’t require some fresh ground cocoa straight from the top of mount fugi imported on a Pegasus

  • Great video!

For my brothers and sisters that need to gain and eat-to-maintain, this video gives us a good idea as to how we can make some peanut butter fudge brownies!!!

  • Great video!

  • You can gain weight with pretty much anything if you eat enough of it but these are calorie dense so yes, they are good. 140 calories less in the whole recipe and yes they taste delicious without them too!:) Thanks for the comment Safari

    Have fun!

  • Wow, this are the most UNDERRATED bars that i’ve ever made. The macros are just perfect balanced, these are not part of those 350 calories and just 15 grams of protein bars. Also very simple to make, i used a peanut butter whey/caseine blend and they turned as the perfect peanut butter oatmeal bar. Keep going man

  • Per bar:
    Fats 4g
    Carbs 49g
    Protein 20g
    4×9=36 calories from fats
    49×4= 196 calories from carbs
    20×4= 80 calories from fats
    Total: 312 calories per bar

Are the macros wrong in the video or are the calories calculated wrong?

  • Watch out with vitafiber, it is not what they’re marketing it for, in the ends that “fiber” converts to sugar, causing insulin and glucose spikes, because that “fiber” can be digested. Google isomalto-oligosaccharides and easacademy.org, you can also find other not-broscience sites that debunk vitafiber’s claims. I know, it was too good to be true.

  • has anyone tried this recipe or any other homemade quest bar recipe?..are they an good?(are they sweet and yummy…taste like a quest bar?)…I am just wondering before I but the vitafiber syrup.

  • My computer research has shown which nothing beats this paleo program. Key “loso shocking plan” on Google and open up the links. In the event you carry out your quest, you will start fat loss much like me. Dropping 15 pounds was worth the cost. The book has a wide variety of types of recipes. These recipes have already been attempted by me personally and I say they`re tasty.

  • cool tip but with Costco now selling bars on par with questbars at less than $1 a bar for pure convenience I’d go with that. However the only flavors they have are chocolate chip cookie dough and brownies so if you want a cheaper variety this is still the way to go.

  • I think I’ll just save some money and buy the pre-packaged bars I’m not buying that expensive ass bottle of fiber all of these videos seem to require it

  • Seems like a lot of VitaFiber. Half of that would probably be more than enough, if you look at Quest Bars, they have like 15g of fiber, so they probably use 20-30ml instead of 80ml. This stuff is pretty expensive, so try less.

  • Use the Code “MP33979577” on http://www.myprotein.com and then we will win both. You’ll get additional 5% discount on your order and i will get additional friend rewards on myprotein.com. Thanks for your support and effort!:-)

  • this is a really cool video and recipe, may i ask the basic nutritional values of these bars please ( protein, sugar, carbs, mono unsaturated fats) i would appreciate it❤

  • Great video Remington…Here in Aus I buy 12 protein bars for $30.00 from my local supplement shop and they last me around three weeks as I don’t eat one everyday. Too expensive. I’m going to try this recipe…thanks so much!

  • So simple & the basics ingredients are always in the cupboard, just add whey & get Almond milk instead, & a lot less expensive & keep making them.

  • UPDATE: i made them with chocolate whey and hazelnut butter instead of peanut butter and they are delicious

    .
Has anyone tried this with chocolate whey? I don’t have vanilla

  • Hey, contacting you from Dublin, Ireland. I love this video and great recipe. The Sweet-It product you use, what is it exactly? I dont think its something I could come across too easily in Ireland but do you know of an equivalent? Thanks for all the great videos

  • I would agree quest are the best as they’re lowest in sugar lowest in net carbs lowest in calories and decent protein to fill you up

  • 2 questions, cause I’m new to baking/cooking with protein.
    1. Can you use “normal” milk/water?
    2. Can you use vegan protein types? (Maybe there’s no difference between whey and vegan protein but I don’t know)

  • this is a really cool video and recipe, may i ask the basic nutritional values of these bars please ( protein, sugar, carbs, mono unsaturated fats) i would appreciate it❤

  • i try your recipe but i replaced two ingredient
Sliced Almonds replaced it with shredded coconut but it add more carb
Almond milk replaced it with water

    delicious thank you

  • Protein brittle 😉 haha. By the way James, I just made these tonight and I’ve got a little recommendation. If you’re not afraid of a little bit of healthy fat I suggest using coconut oil instead of the nonstick spray. It adds a nice little coconut flavor to the bar…pretty B.A.

  • Comment about its all about the protein powder for taste is on the money.. before I made mine with muscle force vanilla powder then I tried matrix chocolate mint powder! Its the crapest powder ever! Even to drink as a shake. even on its own haha. don’t doooooo it

    (Makes 9 bars)

✘ 1 + 1/3 cup rolled oats (use certified gluten free oats if gluten free)

    ✘ 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp hemp seeds

✘ 2 scoops of Vivo Life Vanilla Protein (or your favourite plant-based protein)

    ✘ 1 tsp ground cinnamon

    ✘ 3/4 tsp salt

    ✘ 4 medjool dates + 2-3 tbsp warm water

✘ 1/2 cup natural peanut butter

    ✘ 2 tbsp + 2 tsp maple syrup

✘ 2 tbsp melted coconut butter (or sub coconut oil)

  • @Peyton Michi it would have been a lot more helpful to know how much weight you lost? Like you didn’t need to show how much your weight was on the scale. But it would’ve just been interesting for you to at least tell us how much you lost at the end. Plus, I really wanted to know how many quest bars you were eating each day? Or how many did you eat in total over the 7 day period??

  • Holy hell these are good. All of my friends love them too; definitely going to be a regular recipe for me. Thanks a ton man! Tried them with another flavours of protein that you’d recommend besides the vanilla?

  • Nice to finally see a bodybuilder who is conscious about using almost all natural ingredients! Just stumbled on upon your videos after whirlwind protein baking. I love to see the finished product and macros. Also, so many recipes are written so poorly that no pan size or serving size is mentioned! When you’re counting macros that isn’t helpful at all. Not here, you answer all of my questions. Keep up the good work!

  • Hey Rem, question. Do you think you would you be able to make this using pb2 to cut out the fat and still have the same consistency, texture?

  • I used whey protein (strawberry) in my pancake mix and it was AAAMAZING it cooked like little cakes. Not like the light fluffy pancakes these things had some density to it and they were delicious.

  • girl you’re gorgeous and your body is so nice but i understand where your coming from because i have bdd but just reminding you, that you’re so perfect

  • These tasted too good, my mom and sister ate them when I was at work! The ones that were left were great though, going to make more this week

  • I just finished making these and only licked the spoon after mixing everything together. The taste was so good that I cannot wait till they are done cooling off so I can have a full bar! PHENOMENAL recipe!!!
